Prophetic Observations of the Massacre in Israel – Jonathan Brentner - https://www.jonathanbrentner.com/https/jonathan-brentner-g8fgsquarespacecom/config/2023/10/13/prophetic-implications-of-a-massacre
The carnage left behind by Hamas’ massacre of Israeli citizens and several from other countries shocked and deeply saddened me as I read hundreds of messages and viewed a few pictures of the slain. Because the tragic events of October 7, 2023, involve Israel, prophetic implications from what's happening in the Middle East will reverberate long afterward. This article linked below includes several prophetic observations that flow from massacre of so many in Israel. Is this the fulfillment of Psalm 83? Before the tragic events of October 7, 2023, several respected Bible prophecy experts said the Psalm refers to a future attack while other such specialists placed it in the past. Although it’s not clear whether or not all the participants listed in verses 6-8 will join the coming war, the opening verses to the Psalm apply to the plotting of Israel’s current enemies: O God, do not keep silence; do not hold your peace or be still, O God! For behold, your enemies make an uproar; those who hate you have raised their heads. They lay crafty plans against your people; they consult together against your treasured ones. They say, “Come, let us wipe them out as a nation; let the name of Israel be remembered no more!” The terror attack was the result of careful planning with the intent to ultimately eliminate Israel as a nation. As I write, tensions are rising as it appears that Hezbollah in the north and Syria are ready to join the fight against Israel. Should Jordan join the forces rallying against Israel, that would bring in more participants from Psalm 83. Below are a few observations that I see as they relate to biblical prophecy. IT’S NOT THE GOG/MAGOG WAR, BUT COULD LEAD TO IT The current conflict is not the Gog/Magog war, but could lead to it in the future. I say this for a couple reasons: This invasion will begin at a time when Israel is “restored from war” (Ezekiel 38:8). So it could begin after peace is restored from the current war. The war of Ezekiel 38-39 will begin at a time when Israel is dwelling “securely” (38:10-11). There has been talk of a large-scale war in the Middle East for several months. If Israel were to achieve a decisive victory in the coming months, it could create a sense of security and peace that the Bible says will exist before the coalition led by Russian, Iran, and Turkey invade the Land. Since the attack, Israel has threatened to destroy Damascus, which would be a fulfillment of Isaiah 17:1. This would add further fire leading to the fulfilment of Ezekiel 38-39. GOD WILL RESTORE A GLORIOUS KINGDOM FOR ISRAEL Regardless of what happens in the future, one thing remains absolutely certain: God will surely keep His promise to restore a glorious kingdom for the people of Israel. The Lord will restore Israel just as He promised in Ezekiel 36:22-37 and 37:15-28. If we can trust the words of Scripture, and we absolutely can, the nation of Israel is here to stay. Jesus will reign over a restored Israel during His thousand-year rule over the nations. God will not renege on His covenants with His people nor with David. In fact, according to the prophet Jeremiah, this is just as certain as the appearing of the sun in the morning sky (Jeremiah 31:35-36). The bad news for Israel is that the path between now and the restoration of the kingdom will include increasing hardship and terror that will reach its peak during the second half of the Tribulation. The prophet Zechariah states that only one-third of the Israelites will survive (13:8-9), but those that remain will inherit the long-awaited kingdom for Israel. It’s after Jesus returns to a repentant Israel that the words of the prophet Isaiah will surely apply: Comfort, comfort my people, says your God. Speak tenderly to Jerusalem, and cry to her that her warfare is ended, that her iniquity is pardoned, that she has received from the Lord's hand double for all her sins. (Isaiah 40:1-2) In the past couple weeks, the Lord has impressed these verses upon my mind as they speak of a time when Jerusalem’s “warfare” will cease. The situation looks bleak for the city at the moment, but God will keep His solemn promise to preserve Israel and establish His covenant of peace with the nation (Isaiah 54:10; Ezekiel 37:26). Zechariah wrote about a still future repentance of Israel (12:10-13:1) and Jesus prophesied of a time when the people of Israel would greet Him with the words, “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord” (Matthew 23:37-39). There can be no doubt: Scripture assures us of a glorious future for Israel. THE CURRENT ATTACKS WILL MAKE THE ANTICHRIST’S COVENANT MORE APPEALING The pain and overwhelming grief caused by the current attacks on Israel will make the peace plan offered by the antichrist all the more appealing. This is the covenant that kicks off the seventieth week of Daniel (Daniel 9:27), which we refer to as the seven-year Tribulation. The leaders of Israel will believe that the terms offered by the man of lawlessness will save them from another devastating war, but he will betray them after three and a half years, which will cause many of them to flee for their lives (Matthew 24:15-21). If the rebuilding of the third temple is part of the deal, it will make his covenant all the more inviting. The Prophet Isaiah refers to the antichrist’s plan as a “covenant of death” (28:14-22). The one-third of Israel that survive the Tribulation, however, will forever enjoy their Messiah’s “covenant of peace” (Isaiah 54:10; Ezekiel 37:26). Just as it was through much suffering and death that Israel became a nation again, so shall it be leading up to their unending time of security beginning with the millennial reign of Jesus. OUR ENEMY IS VICIOUS AND DEADLY Satan hates all the Jewish people as well as all those saved by the blood of Jesus. The Lord’s description of our enemy in John 8:44 is something of which we must be constantly aware in this day. He described our enemy as “a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” Satan’s stirring up of murderous hatred toward Jews among the militant Muslims is all about stopping Jesus’ fulfillment of prophecy. His objective is to prevent the Lord’s rule over a restored Israel, but just as he failed to stop God’s redemptive plan at Jesus’ First Coming, so our enemy will fall far short again. The same Lucifer who was behind the demonic massacre of innocent people in Israel is also behind the deadly schemes of the globalists. It’s their intent to reduce the population of the world to 500,000 and they have already massacred a substantial number of people in furthering this agenda. The same demonic forces that dragged entire families out their homes and viciously murdered them in Israel also lies behind the deadly push to inject everyone on the planet. With the worldwide demonstrations supporting Hamas and the growing hatred for believers for their stand on biblical values, it’s easier than ever to imagine the widespread killing of Jews and Tribulation saints that the Bible says will happen after the Rapture. Satan will be furious, but Jesus will prevail and God will not let the devil annul His covenants with (and promises to) His chosen people, nor to us as New Testament saints who will reign with our Savior. AMERICA ON THE EDGE The long-term consequences for America are grim at best. Shortly after coming to power, the Biden administration renewed funding for the Palestinians and Hamas. Recently, in a deal to get back hostages, President Biden freed up six billion dollars in assets for Iran, who is the principle financial backer of Hamas. It’s certain that the Lord will not take kindly to America’s funding of terror and death. It gets much worse. Under Biden, somewhere between five and seven million illegal immigrants have flowed through our southern border, many of them are military age men from a variety of nations, including China. We have caught many terrorists at our southern border, but it’s certain that a multitude of those seeking to destroy America have avoided capture and remain within our borders. Will the U.S. be attacked from within by unfriendly forces? It’s probable. Regardless, it’s clear that America is on the edge of destruction; it’s only God’s restraining hand that’s keeping us from an economic implosion or devastating attacks from enemy forces. It’s clear that the nation I love lies precariously on the edge of destruction. WE LIVE IN BIBLICAL TIMES The good news is that we live in biblical times, which signifies that Jesus’ appearing to take us home is imminent. The bad news is that we live in biblical times with lawlessness, violence, wickedness, and deception are increasing exponentially, just as Scripture said would happen in the last days. I’m certain that the Rapture can happen at any moment, but I don’t know what hardship we might experience in the meantime. It’s also clear that our enemy is exceedingly deadly and vicious. His rage will reach its peak during the Tribulation, but he’s already working through his minions to stop Jesus from reigning over the nations from Jerusalem. To do so, he must destroy all humanity starting with the people of Israel and Bible-believing saints (see Matthew 24:22). Regardless of what comes against Israel or us, God will accomplish His purposes. Nothing can stop the Lord from destroying the devil’s rule during the Tribulation nor can anything hinder Him in setting up His thousand-year rule in the coming kingdom of which we will share as coheirs with Jesus (Romans 8:16-17; Ephesians 1:13-14; 1 Corinthians 15:50-54). Just as at His Frist Coming, Jesus will fulfill biblical prophecy and God will restore a kingdom to the descendants of Jacob. Satan’s efforts to stop the Lord from fulfilling prophecy seem to always end up fulfilling what the Bible says will happen. I provide a detailed defense of the Pretribulation viewpoint in: The Triumph of the Redeemed-An eternal Perspective that Calms Our Fears in Perilous Times. I demonstrate, using an abundance of quotes, that the belief in a thousand-year reign of Jesus dominated the church during its first three hundred years. The historic view of the millennium is a literal view of Revelation 20:1-10 that places it between the Tribulation and the eternal state. There’s no such thing as a “historic premillennialism” that denies a literal interpretation of this text. We Are Living In Prophetic Times, Make Sure You’re On The Right Side Of Historical And Biblical Truth – By David Fiorazo - https://harbingersdaily.com/we-are-living-in-prophetic-times-make-sure-youre-on-the-right-side-of-historical-and-biblical-truth/ The recent, unprecedented attacks by Hamas against Israel October 7 were the deadliest since Israel became a nation, and the global conflict has now become a powder keg. Some speculate WW III is here. Israel has always been under attack. According to Bible prophecy, many events in the last days including the return of Jesus Christ, the judgment of God, and end times wars would revolve around Jerusalem. The Bible warns about wars and rumors of wars, and since a coalition of Muslim nations surrounding Israel forged an alliance many decades ago, the Middle East meltdown was set in motion. How this will impact America remains to be seen. According to the Washington Examiner, Iran wants “all Arab and Islamic countries” to unite against Israel in the wake of the Hamas terrorist attack that ignited a war in Gaza. We are living in prophetic times, but this is not about Jews and Palestinians; this is about enemies of God, Jesus, and the biblical worldview. Hamas and Hezbollah, terrorist organizations have publicly vowed for years they will “wipe Israel off the map.” They will never stop trying. Franklin Graham commented following the terrorist attacks: “We just saw Hamas brutally murder 900+ Israelis, most all civilians. If you want to know what else they’re after, a Hamas Commander made it clear. He said they want to kill every Jew and every Christian—and take control of the ‘entire 510 million sq. kilometers of Planet Earth.’ If you think what is happening in Israel is limited to Israel, think again.” The numbers of injured have surpassed 3,000 and more than 1,300 Israelis have been killed. Of these, less than 300 were soldiers. Thousands of Hamas gunmen invaded southern Israel, kidnapping, raping, torturing, and killing Israelis, specifically targeting women, children, and the elderly. This attack was pure evil and well planned almost to the day of the 50th anniversary of the Yom Kippur War, on Oct. 7. The very next day, the Israel Security Cabinet voted to officially declare war for the first time since 1973. Some Bible prophecy watchers suggest Psalm 83 is being played out before our eyes concerning Israel and the October 7 attacks: Psalm 83:1-5 KJV – “Keep not thou silence, O God: hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God. For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head. They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones. They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance. For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:” This is almost like reading a current news story. Isn’t the Bible amazing? Enemies of God openly want the Jewish state annihilated. A coalition of nations is rising up against Israel just as Scripture predicts, most of which are Muslim nations. The Lord seems to be setting the stage for His return like never before. The prophet Jeremiah wrote about young men and women taken captive (Lam. 1:18) and: Lamentations 5:11-15 KJV – “They ravished the women in Zion, and the maids in the cities of Judah. Princes are hanged up by their hand: the faces of elders were not honoured. They took the young men to grind, and the children fell under the wood. The elders have ceased from the gate, the young men from their musick. The joy of our heart is ceased; our dance is turned into mourning.” Many questions have arisen regarding Israel, one of the most technologically advanced nations with one of the strongest militaries in the world. How did Hamas break through so easily and virtually undetected? Did Israel drop its guard? There are certainly parallels to America at Pearl Harbor in 1941 as well as September 11, 2001. Israel has persevered through many wars including 1948, 1967, and 1973 as well as countless attacks. But this? In recent years it has been business as usual for much of the world, particularly in the West, but the Bible warned about times when people are talking about “Peace and safety,” when sudden destruction will come upon them “and they shall not escape (1 Thess. 5:3).” The unexpected nature of that day will be glorious to those who have confessed their sins and believe, but tragic for unbelievers of all nations unless they know Jesus Christ and are saved. Have you repented and put your hope in Him? The promised Messiah came through the line of David as prophesied in Scripture and on all the face of the earth, He determined the appointed times of every nation as well as “the boundaries of their habitation (Acts 17:26).” God has blessed Israel throughout the centuries. Many however, have tried minimizing, changing, or editing world history, particularly when it comes to Israel and the land God gave them, so this is a good time for a very brief refresher. May 14, 1948, was a remarkable day when the nation Israel was born as prophesied in Isaiah 66:8. Over five million Jews returned to Israel, and as predicted, the remnant was restored (Isaiah 11:11-12; Ezekiel 37:21-22; 38:8). Never before in world history had a people been dispersed and scattered among the nations of the earth and then centuries later return to their homeland “from the north, south, east, and west (Isaiah 43:5-6).” The Bible was again proved true when Israel became a desolate wasteland for about 1,900 years, but today we see the fulfillment of several more prophecies, such as Israel will bud and blossom, and fill the whole earth with fruit (Isaiah 27:6; Isaiah 35:1-2). Israel now exports fresh produce to the world to the tune of 800 million dollars each year, including over 200 million dollars from flowers and plants. According to the prophets Amos and Joel, the mountains of Israel would one day flow with sweet wine, and God would restore the people so they could rebuild ruined cities (Amos 9:13-15; Joel 3:18). They would plant vineyards and gardens, enjoy the land, and God promised they will not again be rooted out from their land which I have given them. Amos and Joel are among the first biblically prophetic books written sometime between 750 BC and 835 BC. Nearly uninhabited and desolate a century ago, this little nation exports well over 40 billion dollars worth of goods. Tourism is one of Israel’s major sources of income and economic growth, attracting around 3.5 million foreign tourists per year. The prophet Isaiah also describes forests of trees filling the formerly barren land and specifically mentions the cedar, acacia, myrtle, olive, juniper, pine, and cypress trees (Isaiah 41:18-20). God fulfilled His promise to open up rivers, springs, and fountains of waters so people would know the hand of the Lord has done this. In the last hundred years, approximately one billion trees have been planted in Israel. This is all part of Bible prophecy! The city of Jerusalem had been destroyed, trampled underfoot by the Gentiles (Luke 21:24) around AD 70. The land was a desert and uninhabited. According to prophecies, the city of Jerusalem would be – and was – rebuilt on its own ruins (Jeremiah 30:18; Zechariah 12:6) and reestablished in 1948. Then Jewish people eventually regained full control of the city during the Six-Day War in 1967. On June 7 of that year, the Israeli army broke through and returned Jerusalem to the Jewish people for the first time in 1,897 years! Israel has been attacked many times and often outnumbered, and yet somehow this tiny nation the size of New Jersey has survived and thrived. They did it because of God, and at times with the help of allies including the United States. It was President Truman who recognized the state of Israel in 1948, but few recall what Richard Nixon did in 1973. Israel was vastly outnumbered in manpower and weaponry during the fourth Arab-Israeli war when Egypt, Syria, Iraq, and Jordan carried out a surprise attack on Israel while Jews were observing Yom Kippur. There was talk of surrender days into the war as Israeli Prime Minister Golda Meir faced insurmountable odds. In desperation, she called the White House at 3 AM on October 6, 1973, and the Nixon administration acted decisively sending 22,000 tons of jets, tanks, and ammunition by air and by sea to Israel. Israel overcame its enemies once again and that war came to an end. What about President Trump? Between his policies, Nikki Haley standing up to the United Nations, the Trump White House reestablishing a strong relationship with Benjamin Netanyahu, and moving the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem, Trump had the most pro-Israel administration in decades. Few would deny God had blessed America in the past, but we have turned our backs on Him as a nation. The Bible teaches that those who bless Israel will be blessed (Genesis 12:3), and He will curse those who curse Israel. It must be noted the Obama and Biden administrations have been the most anti-Israel in our history and have provided billions of dollars to Iran, a sworn enemy of Israel. Some believe we are under God’s judgment for our immorality as a nation as well as electing wicked rulers. God judges all nations for their sins. It’s difficult to rule out judgment or discipline as a cause for any national calamity, including what He is allowing in Israel. Don’t misunderstand, Israel as a nation has been rebellious, and has rejected Jesus as the Messiah for 2,000 years. Luke recorded one of Peter’s sermons in the Book of Acts where he charged the Jews: Acts 3:14-15 KJV – “But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you; And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.” The world has rejected Jesus, but all nations were not given God’s promises like Israel. God chose Israel through Abraham to be “a great nation,” and Abraham was promised land, seed, and blessing. That blessing included God’s plan in Genesis 12 saying, “I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing (Gen. 12:2).” The blessing would extend to Israel and the world (Galatians 3:8, 16) because from Abraham’s descendants would come Jesus Christ (Matt. 1:1; Rom. 9:5) the One who would take away the sins of His people (Matt. 1:21; Jn. 1:29; 1 Jn. 3:5). How can true believers in Christ and the biblical worldview respond to recent events? Certainly not in silence. We should stand with Israel and ask God for her protection. The people there need to hear the gospel and be saved. The Bible tells us to pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Psalm 22:6), which seems almost impossible at the moment. Joshua Arnold at the Washington Stand reminds us that “nations hostile to God still plot the destruction of his chosen people,” and offers this perspective: Let us complain to him of the terrible violence and bloodshed, that cruel men do evil with impunity, that many people have set themselves [as] enemies of God and his people, that much of the world continues to reject God and does not give glory to his name. Let us acknowledge that God presides over the affairs of nations, that he is good, that he accomplishes all his sovereign and wise purposes for the glory of his name, and that he will vindicate himself by judging his enemies. No matter what happens, no matter what man does, no matter the wars or catastrophic events, and no matter what this temporary world can throw at us, God is sovereign over all things. As we know from Scripture, this includes all nations, and especially Israel. Pray also for more Jews to believe in Yeshua (Jesus) and receive eternal life (1 Jn. 5:11-13). It’s not over, friends, but time is running out. Make sure you’re right with the Lord, and that you’re on the right side of historical and biblical truth. Prophecy Update Videos Must Watch Videos! For Thy servants take pleasure in her stones and favor the dust thereof. So the heathen shall fear the name of the Lord and all of the kings of the earth Thy glory. When the Lord shall build up Zion, He shall appear in His glory." Psalm 102:13-16 People sometimes ask me, “Pastor, why do you keep going back to the land of Israel?” Because I love the land and I love her people. They are God's chosen people, a people of destiny. I go to Israel for two reasons. One, I love her past. I love to look back and see the land where my Savior lived and walked and talked. I love to study the Bible on location. It causes the Bible to burst aflame in your hands. Two, I want help in understanding the present and the future, because there is Bible prophecy yet to be fulfilled. Keep your eyes on Zion, God's holy land. As the Jew goes, so goes the world. The Jews are God's yardstick, God's outline, God's blueprint, for what He’s up to in the rest of the world. The land of Israel, I believe, is the most important spot on earth. The most important city is not Washington or Moscow, but Jerusalem. The most important land, believe it or not, is not America but tiny Israel, about the size of New Jersey. What Does the Bible Have to Say about Israel? Israel: the geographic center. “See, I have set thee in the midst of the nations (Ezekiel 5:5). Israel, called “the navel of the earth,” is strategically located at the hub of three continents. Israel: the revelation center. From this land, the land of Moses, the prophets and the apostles, came the Word of God. Israel: the spiritual center. In Bethlehem Jesus was born. In Nazareth He grew to maturity. In Galilee He walked and taught on the mountainsides and beside the Sea. In Jerusalem our Lord was crucified, buried and rose from the dead. From the Mount of Olives He ascended. And to the Mount of Olives He will return; His feet will first touch down upon the Mount of Olives (Zechariah 14:4). Israel: the prophecy center. Prophecy is “pre-written history.” The land of Israel is the only land belonging to God’s people. The details of their future are minutely recorded in the Bible. If you want to know what God is doing, study Israel and her people. Israel: the storm center. The Middle East, specifically Israel, is the world’s greatest trouble spot. The Bible says “Jerusalem will be a burdensome stone for all people” of the world - (Zechariah 12:3), and indeed we see in the daily news the gathering storm clouds of Armageddon. Israel: also the peace center. We’re told to “pray for the peace of Jerusalem” (Psalm 122:6). There will never be peace on earth until there's peace in Jerusalem, until Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace, rules and reigns from Jerusalem. When we're praying for the peace of Jerusalem, we're praying, “Even so, come Lord Jesus.” We want our Lord to reign from Zion, to sit upon the throne of his father David. Israel: one day will be the glory center. When our Lord returns, all nations of the world will come to Jerusalem to worship (Micah 2:3). Jerusalem will be the capital city not only of Israel but of the entire world, and the Word of the Lord shall go forth from Zion (Isaiah 2:3). Jesus will reign from Jerusalem (Luke 1:32). Israel is at the center of God’s plan. As we look at Israel, I want you to see four miracle prophecies about this land. The Prophecy of Israel’s Miraculous Generation (How Israel Came to Be a Nation) In Genesis 18:18 God gave Abraham, the father of the Jewish people, the promise of a son—and descendants. He said, “Abraham, through your son all the nations of the world are going to be blessed” (Genesis 12:3, 22:18). When Abraham was 100 years old and Sarah was 90, God gave them a miracle child. Every Jew alive today is the direct result of a miracle birth. Therefore, our precious Jewish friends should have no difficulty believing in the virgin birth because every one of them is here because of a miracle birth. That's the miracle of the generation of the Jewish people. Then God promised Abraham a land for His people. God Himself gave Abraham the land we call Israel. And He gave it irrevocably. (Genesis 12:1, 15:16, 15:18-21, Deuteronomy 9:4) The Prophecy of Israel’s Miraculous Preservation - Part 1 Not only did God bring Israel into being as a miracle nation, but God keeps Israel as a miracle nation. Psalm 89 shows God’s heart on this. 18 For the Lord is our defense; and the Holy One of Israel is our king…. 20 I have found David My servant; with My holy oil have I anointed him: 21 With whom My hand shall be established: Mine arm also shall strengthen him. 22 The enemy shall not exact upon him; nor the son of wickedness afflict him. 23 And I will beat down his foes before his face, and plague them that hate him. 24 But My faithfulness and My mercy shall be with him: and in My name shall his horn be exalted…. 27 “Also I will make him My first born, higher than the kings of the earth. 28 My mercy will I keep for him forevermore and My covenant [an unbreakable promise] shall stand fast with him. 29 His seed also will I make to endure forever and his throne as the days of heaven.” God declares the descendants of David shall endure. Looking down through the tunnel of time, He foresaw (v. 30) that if David's descendants 30 “forsake My law and walk not in My judgments [and by the way, they have forsaken God's law and not walked in His judgments] 31”If they break My statutes and keep not My commandments,” [they have broken His statutes, they have not kept His commandments], then God says, “32 Then will I visit their transgression with the rod and their iniquity with stripes. 33 Nevertheless,” [highlight the word “nevertheless] “My lovingkindness will I not utterly take from him, nor suffer My faithfulness to fail, 34 My covenant will I not break nor alter the thing that is gone out of My lips, 35 Once have I sworn by My holiness that I will not lie unto David. 36 His seed shall endure forever and his throne as the sun before Me. 37 It shall be established forever as the moon, even like the faithful witness in the sky. Selah.” [Selah means “pause and think about that.”] God has said: the Jews would be disobedient—and they were, the Jews would be dispersed—and they were, the Jew would be discredited—and they were, but you could no more destroy the Jewish race than you could destroy the sun, the moon and stars. They may be chastised, they may suffer, but God said, “I will keep My word to David, his seed shall endure” (v. 29). Jeremiah 31:35-37 confirms this. 35 Thus says the Lord, Who gives the sun for a light by day, the ordinances of the moon and the stars for a light by night, Who disturbs the sea, And its waves roar (The Lord of hosts is His name): 36 “If those ordinances depart from before Me, says the Lord, then the seed of Israel shall also cease from being a nation before Me forever.” 37 Thus says the Lord: “If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done,” says the Lord. The Prophecy of Israel’s Miraculous Preservation - Part 2 If you want to get rid of the nation Israel, you will first have to get rid of the sun, moon, and stars. In other words, God is saying, “I'll tell you when I'll cast off Israel: the same day you can tell Me how high is ‘up.’ I'll cast off Israel the same day you can show Me what this earth suspended in space is resting upon. You’ll have to pluck the sun, moon, stars from My heaven before you can annihilate this nation.” They exist as a miracle nation. They stand beside the graves of their persecutors. They live on. When they returned, the land was a rock-filled desert. Zion now is blooming as a rose. Every Jew is here today because of God's keeping, preserving power upon His chosen people. Throughout history, Satan, Israel's ancient foe, has tried to eradicate this nation and obliterate this promise, but he could not do it. Egypt’s pharaoh could not diminish God's chosen people. The Red Sea could not drown them. Jonah's whale could not digest them. Nebuchadnezzar's fiery furnace could not burn them. The gallows of horrible Haman could not execute them. The dictators of this world have not been able to annihilate them. The nations of this world have not been able to assimilate them. When other peoples have been taken from their homelands, when they have been scattered, soon they’ve been absorbed, assimilated—swallowed up, so to speak—into the culture of their new location and cannot be traced. But for nineteen centuries the Jewish people, wherever they were found, kept themselves together, maintaining their traditions, laws, statutes and even language. God preserved them as a nation, an identifiable people. God said He would “visit their iniquity with stripes” and indeed He has. They suffered unmentionable atrocities under Pharaoh, Nebuchadnezzar, Alexander the Great and the Greeks, Nero and the Romans, under the Turks, and Hitler. Under Russia they have and are now suffering. Under the Arab nations they have and are suffering. But they have endured because God's Word prophesied they would endure. The Prophecy of Israel’s Miraculous Restoration - Part 1 After centuries in exile, God once again brought His people back into their land. In my estimation the most amazing thing that has happened in recent history has not been the end of World War II or placing a man on the moon, but the day when Israel was reborn, reconstituted as a nation. Through the prophet Amos, God said, “And I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall build the way cities, and inhabit them, and they shall plant vineyards and drink the wine thereof; and they shall also make gardens and eat the fruit of them. And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more pulled up out of their land which I have given them, saith the Lord thy God.” (Amos 9:14-15) God says, “I'll bring them back and plant them there, and no one will uproot them.” God has brought them back to stay, regardless of what anyone says about it. The Prophecy of Israel’s Miraculous Restoration - Part 2 May 14, 1948, Israel’s declaration day of independence, I was playing high school football. Little did I realize the impact of that moment—God’s fulfillment of Bible prophecy. At that moment, 650,000 Jews were surrounded by six Arab states and 40 million enemies who had sworn by Allah that they would exterminate Israel, drench the soil with Israeli blood, and drive them into the sea. With a fury, immediately five Arab armies swept down from the east toward the west and on to Tel-Aviv. But God miraculously preserved this little nation. Before that time, a Jew was subject to arrest for even carrying a gun. But by the time the UN called for an armistice, these people who were supposed to be “pushed off into the sea” were 150 miles into Egyptian territory. How did that happen? The Israelis secretly took old automobiles and buses to sheds, where they welded boiler plates to the sides to make tanks. They took hoe handles and broomsticks and painted them to look like guns to appear better armed. As Arab legions advanced through some groves, they encountered thousands of beehives. The Israelis are beekeepers. After all, you can’t have a land flowing with milk and honey without bees. And it just so happened in the attack, these hives were overturned. Millions of bees swarmed out and began stinging. They dropped their modern weapons in consternation and fled. Later, when the bees went back into their hives, the Israelis went out and picked up the much-needed weapons. At the same time, coming from the north, others from Lebanon, Syria, and Iraq attacked across the Jezreel Valley. When they got to the middle of that valley, a strange sickness like dysentery disabled them. They were so weak they couldn’t fight. At that same moment, here came the Israelis with the weapons they had picked up from the battle of the bees. An American newspaper ran this headline, “The Bees Fight for Israel.” They captured those who were sick in the valley of Jezreel. The record reports that on one occasion, 20,000 Arabs were captured by 400 Israelis. Don’t give Israel credit for that. God said, “I will bring them again into their own land.” I don’t think the Israeli cause has always been just. I don’t think the American cause has always been just. I don’t think the Arab cause has always been just. I don’t think you can say any cause is always just if man has to do with it. But God is over the affairs of men. God rules in the affairs of men. And God said, “I will bring them back.” God brought them back. Similar things happened in the Six Day War in 1967. Again it seems God wasn’t neutral. Jordan, Egypt and Syria united with one stated goal: “Wipe Israel off the map.” But it was over in six days. Outnumbered 80 to one, God gave His ancient people victory. The same was true in 1973, the Yom Kippur War. Israel’s enemies invaded on Israel’s holiest day, when no one would expect it. God again seemed to intervene when both Israeli and Syrian forces reported strange events that caused Israel’s enemies to surrender. The Bible predicts that in the last days the same will happen when Russia invades the Middle East. Russia will be brought to her knees on the mountains of Israel. Ezekiel 38 and 39 relate this amazing prophecy. When the battle of Armageddon is fought, when the forces of anti-Christ gather once more against Jerusalem, God will again come to the rescue of His people in that great, final war for Israel and her survival. What we see today is a foretaste of that. “Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about when they shall be in siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem. In that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people. All that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.” Zechariah 12:2-3 When that battle comes, Zechariah says the LORD will fight for Israel. In that day shall the Lord defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the Lord before them. And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem. (12:8-9) The Prophecy of Israel’s Miraculous Regeneration Look what happens in their hearts after all this occurs. “And I will pour upon the house of David and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications, and they shall look upon Me whom they have pierced and they shall mourn for Him as one mourneth for his only son and shall be in bitterness for Him as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.” Zechariah 12:10 What a day that will be! The eyes of God’s people will be opened. With deep mourning, they will recognize their Messiah as the one their forefathers pierced. …there shall be a fountain opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem for sin and for uncleanness. (13:1) God will remove the idols from Israel once and for all (v. 2). Then He will bring those remaining through the fire, …and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on My name, and I will hear them: I will say, “It is my people,” and they shall say, “The Lord is my God.” (13:9) One of the signs that Jesus Christ is coming soon is the sign that Zion is being built up. We long for this day! This is Israel’s glorious future—and you may be sure, God is going to bring it to pass. How Israel and the Jews Have Shaped History As you study history, you learn that the indestructible Jew has left his indelible mark upon history. The Jewish people are not great in number. Of the world’s population, they are only 0.2%. That’s not two percent. That’s less than one-fourth of one percent. Yet did you know that 22% of Nobel Prize winners have been Jews? In 2013, six of the 12 laureates were Jewish. Think of that. Abraham’s descendants consistently win high percentages not just of Nobel Prizes but other awards in medicine, health, music, and public life. What a mark they've made upon our world. Did you know it was a Jew who financed Christopher Columbus when he set sail for the west? Of his crew members, the first to set foot on American soil was a Jew. Did you know that a Jew, Haym Salomon, financed General George Washington in our Revolutionary War? Have you ever taken an aspirin? Friedrich Bayer, whose company developed aspirin, was a Jew. Were you vaccinated for polio as a child? The injectable and oral polio vaccines of Salk and Sabin were so effective, the disease has been all but eradicated. Has the dentist ever deadened your tooth before he started to drill? Alfred Einhorn, who developed Novocain, was a Jew. If you're an anti-Semite, the next time you go to the dentist, why don't you say, “Just drill away, don't deaden my pain.” Have you ever had local anesthesia? Its inventor, Carl Koller, was a Jew. When you developed an infection, the doctor prescribed streptomycin, developed by Waksman, a Jew. Sigmund Freud, the father of psychoanalysis, was a Jew. Are you a student of philosophy? Spinoza was a Jew. Do you appreciate the Salvation Army? Its founder, William Booth, had a Jewish mother. It's amazing to study the mark God's chosen people have made on the world. Jews can be thanked for the discovery of electromagnetic waves, the transistor, the first laser, oral contraceptives, antihistamines, anti-leukemia drugs, the electron microscope, vaccines against cholera and bubonic plague, the camera phone, nuclear fission reactor, sound-on-film technology, the discovery of neurotransmitters, the process by which we do MRIs, the Hepatitis-B vaccine, the first exact map of the moon—and do you like American music? Thank George and Ira Gershwin, Aaron Copland, Irving Berlin, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Leonard Bernstein, Lerner and Lowe, and Stephen Sondheim, to name only a few. All history has been dramatically impacted by six Jews: Moses, Paul, Karl Marx, Sigmund Freud, Albert Einstein, and above them all, the Lord Jesus Christ. The Wishes Of Hamas, Hezbollah, And Iran Will Not Come To Pass—Israel Will Not Cease Being A Nation – By Amir Tsarfati - https://harbingersdaily.com/the-wishes-of-hamas-hezbollah-and-iran-will-not-come-to-pass-israel-will-not-cease-being-a-nation/ As we watch the atrocities unfold in Israel and mourn the devastating loss of life, our minds ask the questions, “How long oh Lord? How much longer will evil bring pain and suffering into this world and impact the lives of your people?” John 16:33 KJV – “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” Knowing we will have tribulation in this life is not a comforting thought. Knowing He (Jesus) has overcome the world reminds us that this tribulation-filled life and world are temporary. Yet in the midst of our current status as strangers and pilgrims in a world that is largely against Jews and Christians, there are important reminders for us of the faithfulness of God in this life. Jeremiah 31:35-37 KJV – “Thus saith the Lord, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The Lord of hosts is his name: If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the Lord, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever. Thus saith the Lord; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the Lord.” The wishes of Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iran will not come to pass. The Jews will not be driven into the sea. Israel will not cease being a nation, says the Lord. Ezekiel 36:20-24 KJV – “And when they entered unto the heathen, whither they went, they profaned my holy name, when they said to them, These are the people of the Lord, and are gone forth out of his land. But I had pity for mine holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the heathen, whither they went. Therefore say unto the house of Israel, thus saith the Lord God; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name’s sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went. And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the Lord, saith the Lord God, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes. For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.” Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran, and those supporting their efforts to destroy the Jews and the nation of Israel, are fighting against the plan of God, but they will not prevail. For the Jews to be outside of their national homeland profaned the name of the Lord, so He brought them back for His name’s sake, He will not allow them to be destroyed, for His name’s sake. They will not be uprooted from their national homeland, for His name’s sake. As glorious as this truth is and as important as it is to remember, we cannot forget that people are dying at the hands of those intent on evil against God’s people and land. Zechariah 12:3 KJV – “And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.” Ignorant and hateful people are blaming the actions of Hamas on Israel. Muslims around the world are violently protesting Israel’s defensive actions in Gaza. Jerusalem is becoming a burdensome stone to the world, and eventually all the nations of the earth will turn against her. Yet the Holy One of Israel says that He will be Israel’s defense. Zechariah 12:10 KJV – “And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.” It has been said that the current developments in Israel are a second holocaust and more Jews died in one day, on October 7th, than any day since the reign of terror of the Nazi’s came to an end. Does this mean that we could be close to the beginning of the 70th week of Daniel and the fulfillment of the words of Zechariah? It seems quite possible. Titus 2:11-14 KJV – “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.” The glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ precedes the 70th week of Daniel! So as we pray for Israel and the peace of Jerusalem, let’s do so soberly and righteously with our heads lifted up as our redemption draws nigh. Psalms 121:4 KJV – “Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.” Even so, come quickly Lord Jesus. Daily Jot: The evil among us - Bill Wilson – www.dailyjot.com We have seen the images and heard the reports of Congressional Representatives, organizations, professors, and others rallying in support of Hamas against Israel. People that share this support of Hamas are absolutely wrong. Nothing underscores their error more than what we have witnessed in Israel. My God! How can anyone in their right mind support the bloodlust brutality of Hamas? One would have to be incredibly evil. All these people who are protesting on behalf of a Free Palestine believe their opinion is equal to anybody else’s opinion. They believe they have a right to support Hamas. But having the right doesn’t make it right, nor does it make it remotely acceptable. There is clearly evil among us. There is no moral equivalency between supporting Hamas and supporting Israel. None whatsoever. Hamas and the other Islamic terror organizations and terrorist-sponsoring countries stated purpose is the destruction of Israel. That means the killing, raping, dismembering, torturing of innocent men, women and children. This is the governance of the caliphate, where the laws of Islam require submission or death. Understand that Hamas, the governing body of Gaza, is a caliphate. In 2005, the “Palestinian” people in Gaza began electing Hamas representatives in the newly formed “democracy” instituted with the help of President George W Bush. By January 25, 2006 the “Palestinian” people elected the terrorist group to govern Gaza, by nearly a two to one margin, sending ripples throughout the world at the time. It also put the terrorist group in control of the hundreds of millions of dollars being sent by the US to boost the Gaza economy. At the time, Iran’s foreign ministry congratulated Hamas by saying, “The massive participation of the Palestinians shows their will to continue the struggle and resistance against occupation.” Hamas and Iran were close allies who announced in December 2005 that they were forming a “united front” against Israel, something that was solidified in January 2006 when Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad met with Hamas in Syria and vowed support, both politically and financially, to the terrorist efforts of Hamas against Israel. Missiles have been fired into Israel from Gaza ever since. The mission of Hamas is no secret—the elimination of Israel. And the way they do it is through terror—rape, dismemberment, torture against innocent men, women, and children. Those who are publicly showing their support of Hamas’s actions in Israel—in the US Congress, at public rallies in places like Dearborn, MI, in colleges and universities, etc.—are participating in a genocide initiative dedicated to the eradication of the Jewish people, and for anyone else who does not submit to Islam. This is the theology of Hamas, Iran, Turkey, Hezbollah and the other terror actors. The opinion of those supporting Hamas is evil. It has no moral equivalency with decency or the laws of God. Do not give them ground. As said in I Thessalonians 5:22, “Abstain from every form of evil.” That goes for people supporting it. Daily Devotion: The “Unappeasable Want” - by Greg Laurie – www.harvest.org For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children. —Romans 8:16 https://harvest.org/resources/devotion/the-unappeasable-want/ - Listen C.S. Lewis said in The Problem of Pain, “There have been times when I think we do not desire heaven; but more often I find myself wondering whether, in our heart of hearts, we have ever desired anything else. . . . It is the secret signature of each soul, the incommunicable and unappeasable want.”[1] Deep down inside, we all feel the tug of Heaven. We know there is more to life than what we’re experiencing right now. Jesus said, “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you?” (John 14:1–2 NLT). Heaven is a real place for real people to do real things. It is not a watered-down, diluted version of earth. Many of us have a strange concept of Heaven that movies and songs have reinforced. We assume that we’ll sit around in Heaven on big, fluffy clouds and take long naps. But that is not the real Heaven. That is not the biblical Heaven. The real Heaven is a place. When Jesus hung on the cross, two criminals hung on each side of Him. One of these men realized that he was in trouble as he faced eternity. So he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your Kingdom” (Luke 23:42 NLT). Jesus told him, “I assure you, today you will be with me in paradise” (verse 43 NLT). Heaven is a paradise. On one occasion an angry mob stoned the apostle Paul and left him for dead. Scholars believe this was the moment Paul died, went to Heaven, and came back again. Paul later described it this way: “I was caught up to the third heaven fourteen years ago. Whether I was in my body or out of my body, I don’t know—only God knows. Yes, only God knows whether I was in my body or outside my body. But I do know that I was caught up to paradise and heard things so astounding that they cannot be expressed in words, things no human is allowed to tell” (2 Corinthians 12:2–4 NLT). Think of the most beautiful place you have seen. Heaven is far greater than that. It is Paradise. Yes, Heaven is real, and we can know with certainty that we’ll go to Heaven when we die. The Bible tells us, “For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children” (Romans 8:16 NLT). We call this hope, and we need hope today. In fact, experts have described Generation Z as the hopeless generation. If you put your faith in Jesus Christ, you can have hope. Don’t put your hope in technology or in material things. Don’t put your hope in politicians. And don’t even put your hope in religion. Hope has a name, and it’s Jesus Christ. He is ready to change the course of your life. [1] C.S.
