Coming Northern Conflict — The Big War Has Yet to Commence – By Amir Tsarfati - https://harbingersdaily.com/amir-tsarfati-coming-northern-conflict-the-big-war-has-yet-to-commence/
(Galilee, Israel) — Shalom from Israel! The mood in my country is tense. While the operation in Gaza is going exceedingly well, we know that the big war has yet to commence. The conflict with Hezbollah must come, and it will come. When it does, it will be brutal for the entire nation. Hezbollah is much better armed, much better financed, and much better trained than Hamas. The Iron Dome and our other air defense systems can only do so much against the thousands of rockets that will come racing across our northern border. I fully expect that by the time it is all said and done, the skyline of Tel Aviv will look different, as will many other parts of the country. The hardship many families are feeling most now, and expect to only get worse, is the separation of spouses from one another and parents from their children. My wife and I already have one of our children who has been called up into the military. We expect that number to rise to three of our four within the next several months. Many have been away from home since the beginning of the conflict, and the resulting closing of businesses and the accompanying financial hardships have been devastating. Once again, the months ahead will be a difficult time, but a necessary one. We cannot live any longer with the constant threat from a belligerent and active terrorist army just across our border. Again, this will not be a war with Lebanon, but it will be a war in Lebanon. Hezbollah is fully entrenched in that country, and they have so infiltrated the nation’s government and leadership infrastructure that the large percentage of Lebanese citizens who desperately want them out have no power or authority to do anything about it. The war in Israel’s north will likely not remain just in Lebanon. The many terrorist militias that are based in Syria make it probable that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) will have a dual-northern front. Already, Israel’s military has moved four divisions, or approximately 100,000 soldiers, to the north. This is four times the usual number. Many of Israel’s allies are pressuring us toward an end of hostilities, as are some growing oppositional voices within the nation. I wish we could oblige, but we cannot. If we allow our enemies the peace and the time needed to retrench and rearm, they will undoubtedly one day reengage. And this time they’ll come back even stronger than before. We can’t allow that to happen. Please pray for wisdom for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his leadership team. Pray the same for the generals leading the actions of the IDF. And pray for safety for those of us who will be on the receiving end of the Hezbollah missiles, as well as for the innocent Lebanese citizens who are trapped in the war zone created by Hezbollah. Gaza Israel went into mourning on Monday after the IDF experienced the greatest one-day loss of life since the war began. A group of reservists were setting explosives to bring down a building used by Hamas when an RPG was fired at them. The projectile exploded detonating the charges they were working with. The resulting blast brought down the building on top of them, as well as levelling the building next door. Twenty-one soldiers lost their lives. A second RPG was fired at a tank that was guarding the reservists, killing two more soldiers. We are a small country, and we feel deeply the loss of every soldier taken in the line of duty. I, for one, did not sleep at all the night I heard the report. The Battle of Khan Yunis continues to rage. The taking of this hometown to many of the Hamas leaders is strategically essential if the IDF is going to get a strong foothold in central Gaza. The tunnel system is vast and contains the headquarters for most of the terrorist leadership who have surrounded themselves with a human shield of our 136 hostages. The action here is more difficult than that in Gaza City and its surrounding areas because there are still many Gazan civilians taking shelter in the area. The IDF must be very precise in their actions and their military intelligence must be strong if they are to effectively take out the terrorists without harming non-combatants. The difficulty of their task is enhanced by the many members of Hamas who operate without uniforms. These terrorist soldiers will come up from tunnels unarmed and dressed as civilians. Once on the street, they will grab up one of the thousands of weapons that are stashed throughout the city and open fire. But what makes this war the most difficult is that the IDF is fighting a new type of warfare that no military has had to deal with in history. As we continue the difficult above ground war, we are simultaneously having to fight the near impossible battle below ground in the maze of tunnels where 20,000 well-trained terrorists are hiding. This is what is taking so long. We must operate one step at a time, heel to toe, always looking ahead, to the sides, and behind. Yes, we are closing in on them from all sides and eventually we will get them. But this type of warfare absolutely requires caution and patience! Sadly, our television studios are full of military commentators who complain that the IDF is just treading water and moving nowhere. But these men are just failed former generals who, in most cases, are responsible for the situation that we are in. Unfortunately, their idiotic rhetoric is responsible for creating unease and doubt toward the IDF and the government in the hearts of many whose loved ones have been called to put themselves in harm’s way. Both Hamas and Israel have reportedly offered terms that would end the conflict. The offer by Hamas promised a release of all remaining hostages in return for an end of the war, a complete withdrawal of the IDF from Gaza, a release of all Palestinian detainees including those convicted of terrorist murders, and a guarantee that Hamas could run Gaza unhampered by Israel. In other words, they want Israel to surrender. Israel, on the other hand, promised an end to the war if Hamas would permanently exile six senior members of their leadership and release all the Israeli hostages. Hamas refused. When it comes down to it, Hamas is reeling. Israel has killed or disabled 60% of the organization’s fighting force in just 110 days. All that’s left for them is to play a waiting game. They know that global opinion is rapidly shifting to their side. The longer they survive, the better they believe their final terms will be. Lebanon and Syria Although a full-out conflict has not yet broken out on Israel’s northern border, there is still activity daily. Hezbollah regularly fires dozens of rockets directed at Israeli towns and villages. Israeli strikes, using jets, missiles, and drones, against the terrorist organization’s infrastructure and against the terrorists themselves are a near daily occurrence. As mentioned above, both sides are training and preparing for the war that is coming. To the east of Lebanon in Syria, terrorist militias prepare for their opportunity to race south across Israel’s border. This second front in the coming northern conflict is purely a product of Iran, which arms and funds these violent bands. As proof of Tehran’s activities in Syria, a Saturday missile strike in Damascus, courtesy of Israel, killed Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) intelligence chief for Syria and four other IRGC members. The Persian ayatollahs are not strong enough to come at Israel directly, so they use disposable Arab minions to do their dirty work. An interesting development has arisen along the Syrian/Israeli border, this one originating out of the far north. Russia has been gradually decreasing their presence in Syria, as more and more troops are needed in Ukraine. However, the Russian Air Force has now begun flying patrols along the “Bravo Line” which divides the Golan Heights between Syria and Israel. Although the Russian military has been in Syria since 2015, this is the first time that its jets will be flying regular patrols along Israel’s northern border. The US and Israel Following talks with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Friday, US President Joe Biden stated that the prime minister was not opposed to a potential two-state solution. This seemed to come as news to Netanyahu, who the next day posted on X, “I will not compromise on full Israeli security control over all the territory west of Jordan – and this is contrary to a Palestinian state.” Not surprisingly, the prime minister’s response sent the United Nations into a tizzy. UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres posted his response on X the next day, “The refusal to accept the two-state solution for Israelis and Palestinians, and the denial of the right to statehood for the Palestinian people, are unacceptable.” Hey, Tony, aren’t you the guys who just gave the Presidency of the UN Conference on Disarmament this year to Iran? Talk about unacceptable! The pressure the U.S. is placing on Israel for an end to the war and a subsequent two-state solution is driving a wedge between two historically strong allies. What is most aggravating is that the two-state hard sell is purely political in nature. This present administration sees an election coming up, and the incumbent desperately needs this win. His international track record has been atrocious as is evidenced by how many global militarized conflicts have erupted since he has taken office. If the current resident of the White House remains in office for another term, the relationship between the United States and Israel will likely be irreparably damaged. The US and the Houthis Remember four years ago when there was spreading peace in the Middle East? That’s true no longer. U.S. bases in Syria and Iraq are under daily attack. The New York Times estimates that 70 members of the United States military have been injured by pro-Iranian militias in the 140 attacks that have taken place since the war between Israel and Hamas began. Washington has responded to these assaults with airstrikes, which so far have not been enough to stop the terrorists. Now the U.S. has taken on the Houthis in what the American military has dubbed Operation Poseidon Archer. The U.S. military is incredible, and I have great respect for those who are serving. Unfortunately, they are being sent into a conflict against a horde of flat-out crazy people. Seriously, the Houthis walk around barefoot, every one of them stoned out of their minds on khat, a chewable narcotic leaf. They are very difficult to defeat because they don’t think rationally. Just ask the Saudis who have been fighting them for the past eight years. According to the Houthis, their goal is to close the three major waterways in what they call the Al-Aqsa Triangle – the Bab-el-Mandeb, the Strait of Hormuz, and the Suez Canal. Doing so would cut Israel off from much needed oil and gas from Qatar, UAE, and Saudi Arabia. This is an overly sophisticated plan for this terrorist group, so it’s no surprise to find their puppet strings leading up to the hands of the Iranian ayatollahs. Of the 75 dead in last week’s U.S. and British airstrikes on the Houthis in Yemen, nine were foreign advisors. Three of these were members of Iran’s IRGC and six belonged to Hezbollah. The Iranian Octopus This brings us now to what I call the Iranian octopus. In every bad situation taking place in the Middle East, you can find a radical Iranian Islamist tentacle. Hezbollah in Lebanon, Hamas in Gaza and the West Bank, the terrorist militias in Syria and Iraq, the Houthis in Yemen, every one of them is attached to the main cephalopod body in Tehran. The previous U.S. administration had Iran quelled. The sanctions were strong and the threats against any untoward actions were real. Then the new president came into office, and within a month-and-a-half he had rescinded the sanctions, allowing billions of dollars to flow into the Iranian economy. Since that time, the ayatollahs have felt emboldened to spread their evil influence throughout the Middle East causing conflict and instability. A lack of proximity and political power limits Israel as to what they can practically do to Iran without inducing enormous geopolitical consequences. As a result, we are forced to deal primarily with the symptoms that exist on the other side of our borders. The United States, however, has the strength and clout to deal with the disease. But instead of pressuring Tehran to shut down the attacks coming from Yemen, Iraq, and Syria, the American administration is spending all its efforts trying to track down drugged-up Houthis in the ports of Sanaa. You don’t stop an octopus by cutting off a tentacle. You’ve got to go after the body. Preparing For the Collapse of Society - by Michael Snyder - https://theeconomiccollapseblog.com/preparing-for-the-collapse-of-society/ Are you convinced that we are headed for societal collapse? If so, you are definitely not alone. Survey after survey has shown that faith in all of our major institutions is dropping, and there is a growing consensus that very challenging times are ahead of us. Here in 2024, we will be facing the most chaotic election season in our entire history, multiple wars are erupting all over the planet, economic problems are rapidly growing, destructive natural disasters are becoming more frequent, global authorities are warning us to brace ourselves for the next pandemic, and our cities are being absolutely overwhelmed by endless waves of new migrants. The stage is set for a societal implosion of epic proportions, and many Americans are feverishly preparing for a coming collapse that they believe is inevitable. For a long time, many people had faith that the government would be able to keep society stable, but now that has changed. In fact, one recent survey discovered that a whopping 71.2 percent of all Americans “have no faith in the U.S. government to save them or prevent a doomsday event”… According to a survey of 6,200 Americans conducted by BonusFinder.com, 71.2 percent of Americans say they have no faith in the U.S. government to save them or prevent a doomsday event. Even more unnerving, many respondents believe Doomsday could come within the next year. If you actually believe that the government will be there to rescue you when things really start hitting the fan, you are just being delusional. If it was equally divided up among the entire population, the emergency supplies that the government has on hand would last less than a day. Many Americans are realizing that they will be forced to rely on themselves as society collapses, and so an increasing percentage of the population is spending significant money on emergency preparedness… Last April, the financial-services firm Finder found that the number of Americans who said they’d recently spent money on emergency preparedness jumped from 20% in 2020 to 29% in 2023. They spent an average of $150 on items such as nonperishable food, medical supplies, and cases of water. Today you can’t turn on a streaming platform without catching recommendations for popular survivalist reality shows such as “Alone” or “Naked and Afraid,” and on social media, homesteading and disaster-prepping influencers have amassed millions of followers across various platforms. Disaster preparedness is on the rise, in large part, because disasters are as well: from the supply-chain shortages caused by COVID-19 lockdowns to the climate crisis, from wars in Ukraine and Gaza to tech-driven loneliness, from runaway disinformation to intractable political polarization. More people are asking: Am I better off being hyperdependent on the global industrial economy? Would it be safer to grow my own food, store my own water, and not depend on complex systems I don’t understand? I am glad that more people are waking up and getting prepared. But spending a couple hundred dollars on some emergency preparedness items simply is not going to be enough to survive what is eventually coming. In Missouri, one woman named Rowan MacKenzie has literally spent $90,000 to prepare her family for what she believes is ahead of us… A woman who has built a doomsday bunker says the door will remain closed to anyone outside her home, including family. Rowan MacKenzie, from Missouri, who became a social media phenomenon after revealing she’s been prepping her home for 12 years, believes it’s necessary to prepare for the end of the world. She previously hit the headlines after revealing she spent over $90,000 on her hidden bunker stockpile. The 38-year-old began stocking up her cupboards 13 years ago and initially, bought lifelong essentials, such as beans and rice, which she taught herself to preserve through trial and error. Do you agree with her approach? When things get really bad, will you shut your door to those that are requesting help? Of course there are many that will just try to take whatever they need. Crime rates are already spiking all over the nation, and violent predators are seemingly everywhere. Earlier this week, Zero Hedge posted an excellent article about the vast hordes of psychopaths that are coming out of the woodwork these days… Discussions on collapse often turn to signs and signals – The economy, politics and social tensions have become increasingly unstable for many years now, and much like adding more and more weight to a man standing on a frozen lake, eventually the ice is going to break. The question is, how do we know when that moment will be? As cultural systems begins to dissolve due to political clashes and economic decline the real evil tends to slither out of the woodwork. It happens slowly at first, then all at once. A sure sign of accelerating collapse is the growing prevalence of psychopaths and psychopathic behavior in the open. The US appears to have entered the middle stages of such a collapse with many sociopaths and psychopaths beginning to feel that they might be able to act out their worst impulses without consequences. They are beginning to test the waters to see what they can get away with. Those paragraphs really resonated with me, because they are so true. I am sure that you have noticed the same thing. Evil is literally growing all around us, and the inmates are taking over the asylum. And I am entirely convinced that 2024 is going to be a historic turning point. Are you ready for the tremendous chaos that is coming? If you have not figured out where you want to be located during the chaotic years that are ahead, that is the first thing that you need to do. Once you have settled on a location, then you need to store up enough food and supplies for yourself and for everyone that will be depending upon you for as long as you plan to stay alive. Of course you will also need to determine how you will protect all of your food and supplies as well. This is not a game. The collapse of society really is coming, and most of the population will find themselves completely and utterly unprepared when it finally happens. Meanwhile, pro-family advocates have formally told the Biden administration they fervently hope the agreement will never be adopted. “I’m concerned that member states may not meet” the May adoption date of the WHO Pandemic Agreement, said Secretary-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Gherebeyesus in Geneva Monday. That would suit its opponents just fine. “We call on HHS to reject the Draft Agreement in its entirety and reconsider the need for a pandemic agreement. The Draft Agreement cannot be salvaged,” Family Research Council told the Biden administration the same day. FRC cited numerous concerns about the agreement — which would transfer one-fifth of all U.S. supplies to the WHO, encourage government censorship of “misinformation,” and formally announce that human health is no more important than animal life — in a formal comment discouraging the Biden administration from unilaterally acceding to the accord. Although “FRC recognizes that there are benefits from international cooperation between nations, international organizations,” the pandemic agreement as written “only pays lip service to state sovereignty as it seeks to create new political arrangements that transfer power from individual member states to global institutions and sub-structures, most notably the WHO.” FRC also cautioned that the “best practices” nations should adopt in “any future pandemic could be promulgated by an amalgamation of world government structures,” not doctors based in the U.S., or the West. “[T]he Draft Agreement is, first and foremost, a global political, economic, and social manifesto,” which insists nations can best prevent future health threats by “yielding national sovereignty; centralizing international medical power in the WHO; global, national, and corporate censorship; the suppression of freedom of conscience; instituting multifaceted redistribution plans for income and assets across nations; mandating universal health care plans; appropriating intellectual property; sharing genetic information about diseases; sharing pandemic samples; and supporting quotas encompassing ‘gender’ (not sex) diversity.” In all, the agreement presides over “the creation of a web of freedom-strangling entities, legal regulatory mandates, and relationships that, when needed, can be switched on to function as a ‘turnkey totalitarian state.’” The comment notes that the term “shall” appears in the draft agreement 175 times, undermining claims that the accord would have little effect on national sovereignty. Numerous provisions of the treaty as written “could authorize funding and support for abortion,” said “including through essential health services, universal health coverage, gender responsiveness, and sustainable development goals. This violates longstanding U.S. policy redlines.” The agreement — which began as a “treaty,” until President Joe Biden realized he could not win a Senate ratification vote — has no “defined parameters on how a country’s national sovereignty will be protected” from creeping WHO encroachments,” says FRC. Similarly, the agreement contains “no accountability or improved transparency measures” to hold the Chinese Communist Party accountable for “its role in misleading the WHO and international partners and covering up the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic.” The accord also commits nations to adopt a philosophy known as “One Health,” which states human life, animal life, and the ecosystem have equal and competing rights. Such a notion “creates a blank check” for global power, argued FRC. “Scientists did not need One Health to understand that pathogens often come from the non-human environment or that there are important relationships between all the sciences.” The accord also promises to embed “equity” in every aspect of its outreach, including the drive for “universal health care.” But the WHO’s “version of ‘equity’ entails discrimination against perceived oppressors,” primarily white male Christians, notes FRC. The accord also encourages governments to quash “misinformation” and the outbreak of an “infodemic” — which the agreement defines, in part, as citizens receiving “too much information” about a disease or the government’s handling thereof. But, FRC contends, denying free speech will actually prolong future pandemics. “This legal, political, and social environment that supports and defends the right to freely exchange ideas and debate one’s beliefs is essential to promoting health based on scientific evidence — especially during a pandemic,” the comment observes. (Emphasis in original.) “The abject failures of public health organizations like the WHO, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) during the recent COVID-19 pandemic indicate that government-promulgated health narratives should be challengeable and open to public debate.” “The loss of that freedom will be far more life-threatening than any pandemic could be,” says the comment, authored by Chris Gacek, senior fellow for Regulatory Affairs at Family Research Council. World government bodies’ instigation for government censorship do not take place in a vacuum. FRC cites such examples as the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, adopted in 2015, and a 2021 report from U.N. Secretary General titled “Our Common Agenda,” which states: “The ability to disseminate large-scale disinformation to undermine scientifically established facts poses an existential risk to humanity and endangers democratic institutions and fundamental human rights.” The comment criticizes the agreement’s no-fault vaccine policy, calling it “a sop to the vaccine industry, the vaccine-selling NGOs that provide massive funding to the WHO.” Many of these criticisms have been echoed in a brief comment by the House Foreign Affairs Committee, written by Reps. Michael McCaul (R-Texas) and Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-Wash.), which criticizes the WHO agreement for establishing the redistribution of U.S. wealth and necessary medical resources to other nations. “The draft commits signatories to contributing large sums to a global pandemic preparedness fund and sets percentages of current domestic funding to pay for specific health initiatives designated by WHO, as well as establishing a global compensation mechanism for vaccine-related injuries,” the congressmen write. Gacek said liberty-minded Americans must oppose the adoption of the treaty-cum-accord as if their health, and freedom depends on it. “On issue after issue — whether the COVID-19 pandemic, vaccines, the need for scientific censorship, and most especially, national sovereignty — the WHO has been wrong at every turn,” said Gacek. “We must speak out against this international agency’s ceaseless efforts to seize power, including through its proposed Pandemic Preparedness Agreement. We must not let power be aggrandized by unelected international bureaucrats that threaten every nation-state’s right to act in the best interest of its people.” Ben Johnson is senior reporter and editor at The Washington Stand. Editor’s Note: Why Is This News Biblically Relevant? Jan Markell, in her article, “The Greatest Power Grab In History: Building The Infrastructure For Global Governance,” wrote: The sweeping new powers will be invested in the Director-General of WHO to act on his own. The Director-General is Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, commonly known as Tedros. Tedros, the first non-physician director-general of WHO, is an extremely controversial Marxist activist and politician from Ethiopia installed by the Chinese Communist Party. During the pandemic itself, the American public witnessed their federal, state, and local governments forcibly shut down tens of millions of businesses, churches, and schools in fear of a virus that, in reality, proved to have a survival rate of 99%. That authority would presumably fall to the WHO under the new treaty. The globalists are having a field day! Gaining inches some days and miles the next, they are marching toward their one-world system more each day. The four horsemen of the apocalypse are out of the barn but cannot show up until the Church is Raptured. Prayer may be the best weapon we have at this point. It says in Psalm 2 that God sits in the Heavens and laughs at the schemes of wicked men. Time to Pray!!! - Nathele Graham - [email protected] “This know also, that in the last days, perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” 2 Timothy 3:1-5. Paul wrote those words to a young man who was one of the first pastors. He needed guidance and needed to be aware of the troubles that he faced. The same problems plague pastors today, but many pastors seem to ignore Paul’s words. They forget that all Scripture is directly from the Holy Spirit. As we read these verses, it’s easy to think that they describe people who aren’t a part of Christ’s church. but Paul was writing to a Christian pastor and the concerns were about happenings within the congregation. You don’t have to look hard to see that we are living in the perilous time that Paul warned Timothy about. The English word “perilous” doesn’t sound too bad, but in truth, the Greek word chalepos is bad. It means hard to bear and painful. The only other place chalepos is used is to describe the demoniac in Gadara. What’s happening in the world today is very demonic, but sadly the evil is spilling into our congregations. In order to keep the collection plates full, many pastors compromise God’s truth. Most pastors like to preach about the joy of the Lord, rather than repentance. God and sin are opposites, so you cannot turn to God unless you turn away from sin. There is no joy in sin, but many pastors are willing to compromise Biblical truth in order to keep collections up and pews filled. The last church I attended was very non-Scriptural. The pastor spent more time quoting from his “favorite atheist” and rock and roll groups than teaching from Scripture. When he did try to teach Scripture, he was so far off base that it was pitiful. The Sunday school material was very “fluffy”. One lesson was about demons, and I hoped it would give good information. Sadly, the lesson likened demons to termites. I don’t know how many of you reading this have faced spiritual warfare, but believe me, it’s nothing like termites. Paul was serious with Timothy not compromising God’s truth. “I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.” 2 Timothy 4:1-2. If you are preaching a watered-down Gospel, or another Gospel not found in Scripture, or tickling ears, God will ultimately judge you. How many people have you led down the wrong path? How many will end up in Hell because you haven’t taught repentance? Think about it. Jesus Christ gave His life so that we can be forgiven from our sin. Since He knew just how bad sin is, any pastor who doesn’t preach about turning from sin needs to study Scripture. It’s easy to blame the pastors, but every Christian has a responsibility to know Scripture. If you happen to be clinging to a denomination or listening to a pastor who isn’t Biblical, then you are part of the problem. Paul knew that a time would come when Scripture wouldn’t be honored, and preaching wishy-washy sermons would be the only way to fill pews. “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.” 2 Timothy 4:3-4. Are you a “Christian” who believes the fable of evolution? Do you believe the fable that God approves of two men or two women marrying? You need to study Scripture. What’s wrong with this world? Why is it that abortion is a protected right, but it’s considered hate to stand up for the child that is being murdered? Why is it considered “hate speech” to speak against things that Scripture says is sin? Social media will block ministries that speak God’s truth, while there are numerous sites that glorify Satan. “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter” Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight.” Isaiah 5:20-21. What is the driving force behind all of this upside-down, craziness? Plain and simple, it’s Satan. Christians have been willingly silenced, so Satan is getting louder. As Paul wrote to Timothy “Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” 2 Timothy 3:5. There are some very outspoken pastors who stand firm upon the truth of Scripture. May God protect these men who honor God. If you attend a church where the pastor is Biblically sound, you are blessed. God is real and is in the supernatural realm. Satan is also real, and also supernatural. Most denominations deny the supernatural. They are so afraid of giving Satan any glory, that they deny supernatural power, including the power of God. The Gospels give many accounts of demon possession, and Jesus told His disciples how to deal with them. Once a man brought his demon-possessed son to Jesus to be freed. Jesus had gone up a mountain with some of the disciples, so the remaining disciples tried to cast the demon from the young man. They failed. When Jesus saw that there was a problem, He took authority over the demon and cast it away. The disciples asked Jesus why they couldn’t cast the demon out. “And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing but by prayer and fasting.” Mark 9:29. This tells us that there are various “kinds” of demons. It’s time to heed Jesus’ words. There are demonic spirits within our congregations, in our governments, in our schools, and in our neighborhoods. It’s time to stop denying the supernatural and turn to our all-powerful God of all creation. We need to fast and pray. It is a spiritual battle, and we are giving the victory to the enemy when we don’t trust God. Stand and fight with the supernatural power of God. The spiritual battle is attacking our families. Men have given their God-ordained position away. They cannot love their wives as Christ loves His church, because either they don’t bother to take a wife and just rely on fornication, or they’ve divorced and don’t live in the household. Women have taken the position of leadership in the home because being a wife and mother has become a job that isn’t respected, and many want to be the “man of the house”. Children are affected by this break in the family order. Instead of being raised by their parents, daycare, babysitters, step-parents, and schools are the authority in their lives. Satan is behind it all. If we recognize that it’s a spiritual battle, we can then see the way to fight. We need spiritual weapons. “Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” Ephesians 6:11. A soldier never enters battle without knowing how to use each piece of his battle gear. Christians need to know how to use God’s armor. “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Ephesians 6:12. Paul understood how important it is to be clad in God’s armor. He was attacked for his faith on many occasions and the armor was important. “Wherefore take unto you the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked, and take the helmet o salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; and for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in bonds; that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.” Ephesians 6:13-20. Put on God’s armor and don’t take it off. It’s time to pray for all the saints. We all must be bold in our witness for Christ and have our spiritual armor securely in place. Daily Jot: The Farm Chronicles: Matchbox Cars - Bill Wilson – www.dailyjot.com I hate to admit it, but my best friend Sonny and I didn’t stop playing with our Matchbox cars until we were about 12 years old. I’m sure many of my classmates who are reading this are saying to themselves, “I knew it,” while also knowing deep down inside there were some things that they held on to way too long as well. Joking aside, those Matchbox cars gave us an outlet in the long winter months of the Ohio snowbelt and allowed us to act out many slices of Americana that gave us assurance of well-being, a sense of adventure, entrepreneurship, and identification with what it meant to be an American. Every economic and civil community was represented in our collection of Matchbox cars. The Mattel website gives a brief history of Matchbox cars: “In 1952, an English engineer named Jack Odell was faced with a problem when his young daughter told him that kids were only allowed to bring a toy to school if it was small enough to fit inside of a—you guessed it—match box. Tapping into his experience making die-cast car parts (and not wanting to disappoint his daughter), Jack scaled down the realistic details of a life-size steamroller into a toy that fit into the palm of his daughter’s hand—and, of course, a match box. The rest is history. Matchbox soon became one of the most popular die-cast car brands on the planet, and we continue to uphold the highest standards for making realistic vehicles that give kids the freedom to explore the world and discover their independence.” The Matchbox mission is to “to give kids the freedom to explore the world through play. For nearly 70 years, Matchbox has inspired generations of kids to unleash their imaginations and get behind the wheel of the real-world vehicles they see every day. With a Matchbox in their hand, kids can drive their own adventure.” And that’s what it was for Sonny and me, and even my cousin Steve. We would sit for hours doing construction, rescuing people, putting out fires, working the fields, pretending to be wealthy, and tending to the horses. We didn’t have video games. So we had to entertain ourselves in other ways. Matchbox helped us hone our business skills as we traded cars between us—usually ending up with what we originally had sooner or later. When Hot Wheels came out, we used the plastic track to build roadways and race courses. Our rooms were transformed into microcosms of America. My 1967 Hot Wheels Custom Camaro was the fastest. It was never beat. While doing some spring cleaning, my wife came across my old Matchbox collection. I just had to get them out and reminisce a bit about a simpler time and all the fun we had. Each car carries with it a certain memory. The last time I played with them, Sonny and I were in his room and he looked at me and said, “Do you want to do this anymore?” I replied, “I think we are getting a little too old for it.” We put them away. 1 Corinthians 13:11 says, “When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.” Sometimes, we hang on to those things that we did as a child a little longer because they might inform what we become as adults. Daily Devotion: The Danger of Flirting with Sin - by Greg Laurie – www.harvest.org Then she cried out, ‘Samson! The Philistines have come to capture you!’ When he woke up, he thought, ‘I will do as before and shake myself free.’ But he didn’t realize the LORD had left him. —Judges 16:20 https://harvest.org/resources/devotion/the-danger-of-flirting-with-sin/ - Listen Talk about sleeping with the enemy. Samson fell asleep in Delilah’s lap and took a one-way trip to the barbershop, not realizing what he was doing. Delilah had been hired by the Philistines to discover the secret of Samson’s strength. But so far, she was getting nowhere. So she said, “How can you tell me, ‘I love you,’ when you don’t share your secrets with me? You’ve made fun of me three times now, and you still haven’t told me what makes you so strong!” (Judges 16:15 NLT). In other words, “If you love me, you’ll do this.” Anyone who would ask you to prove your love to them by compromising your spiritual principles is not someone you should be involved with. That is not love. And Samson should have known that. But after a while, Delilah was wearing him down. The Bible says that “she tormented him with her nagging day after day until he was sick to death of it” (verse 16 NLT). Finally, Samson told her the secret of his strength, and this time when the Philistines came to capture him, he couldn’t free himself. This brings us to one of the most tragic statements in the Bible: “But he didn’t realize the Lord had left him” (verse 20 NLT). Samson had not only lost touch with what was going on, but he had also lost touch with God. The passage goes on to say, “So the Philistines captured him and gouged out his eyes. They took him to Gaza, where he was bound with bronze chains and forced to grind grain in the prison” (verse 21 nlt). If this were a story about running a race, Samson would have just fallen—and fallen hard. In fact, it would appear that he wasn’t ever going to get back up again. Ironically, Samson once had the ability to win the race, but he was down. And it looked as though he was out of the race. This is so typical of someone who has been trapped in sin. Everyone else knows what is happening, but they don’t know. They refuse to listen to the warnings, and they continue down a path of destruction. And then one day they wake up and realize how far they’ve gone. Sin blinds us, and we do completely irrational things. That’s what happened to Samson. Sin blinded him. Sin finds us. There may be an initial excitement that comes with crossing the line in a certain area. But we need to be aware that eventually, our sin will find us out (see Numbers 32:23). Lastly, sin will grind us. Ultimately, we will pay the miserable price for our sin, whether it’s a broken marriage or a betrayed trust or a damaged witness and reputation. Sometimes we try to over spiritualize things that have an obvious solution. Sometimes the way of escape is as simple as walking out the door. Samson flirted with sin, and it destroyed him. We need to take practical steps to resist temptation.
