God gave all the Promised Land to Israel and warned the world not to divide it (Gen. 17:7-8; Joel 3:2), but Pres. Biden and others have pushed the Two-State solution (division of Israel) since the early 1990s. Pres. Biden and others have often tried to tell Prime Min. Netanyahu what to do, and when he refused, they have tried to bring an end to Netanyahu’s government. Earlier this month, Pres. Biden sent U.S. Sec. of State Blinken to several nations supposedly to keep the Israel-Hamas war from spreading. In Saudi Arabia, Blinken got an agreement from Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman to agree to normalize relations with Israel in exchange for accepting the Two-State Solution. Blinken then went to Israel with the deal in his hand, but Netanyahu rejected it. At one of Israel’s military bases, Netanyahu said: “The war continues, and it will continue until the end, until we complete all our goals: The return of the abductees, the elimination of Hamas, and the assurance that Gaza will no longer pose a threat to Israel. Let there be no mistake; we will persist in the fight on land, at sea, and in the air until complete victory.” These events triggered reports that Biden is upset; he hasn’t talked to Netanyahu in about a month, and he is once again trying to get Netanyahu removed from office. One report said the Biden administration is beginning to make plans for what it will do on the day after Netanyahu is out of office. Another report said Blinken met secretly with members of Netanyahu’s war cabinet to try to undermine Netanyahu. On Jan. 18, 2024, it was reported that Netanyahu said:

Netanyahu said, “I can say something about what they call the day after Netanyahu… Those who speak of the day after Netanyahu are talking about the creation of a Palestinian state led by the Palestinian Authority.”) (More: On Jan. 19, 2024, the EU’s top diplomat said the international community may have to impose the Two-State solution on Israel without Israel’s agreement.) (More: On Jan. 19, 2024, Netanyahu’s government easily survived a no-confidence vote when only 18 out of 120 Knesset members voted. Some members said they would not play politics while the nation is at war, and they refused to vote.) (My opinion: Pres. Biden and many others are willing to risk the security of Israel for peace with the Muslims. The Muslims claim to be a religion of peace, but they believe they must conquer the entire world for Allah before there can be peace. They also believe they can make peace treaties and break them if doing that will advance their goal of world domination. The international community believes they can divide Israel and get peace and safety. The Bible says God will not allow that. His judgment will fall, and there will be no peace on earth until the Second Coming of Jesus.) (My opinion: Israel must stop relying on the U.S., the EU, or any other earthly entity and start relying on God. And by relying on God, I do not mean rebuild the Temple and resume the animal sacrifices. I mean repent of their sins and accept a Jew called Jesus as their Messiah.) Here are more events that appear to indicate that history is at the end of the age. One, concerning world government: on Jan. 17, 2024, it was reported that the World Health Organization (WHO) Sec. Gen. Ghebreyesus told the World Economic Forum (WEF) that Disease X (an unidentified, non-existent, future disease) will happen. He said it is a matter of “when,” not “if.” He doesn’t know when it will happen, but companies are already working on a vaccine to treat this disease. He said it would be a Covid-like disease, and we could consider Covid the first Disease X. (Update: According to End Time Headlines, on Jan. 17, 2024, WHO Director Gen. Ghebreyesus urged the nations to sign the International Pandemic Treaty by May 24, 2024, so the world can prepare for Disease X. He said preparing for terrible diseases the world doesn’t know about is a global interest, not a national interest.) (More: On Jan. 23, 2024, Dr. Robert Malone said Disease X is an imaginary infectious disease that the WHO is using to scare the public into governmental compliance, to gain power for unelected officials, and to get more money.) (My opinion: This appears to be the beginning of the next fake pandemic. The so-called experts who are warning the world about Disease X are not named. Their research is not available. We are expected to believe the scare tactics of people who have been dishonest in the past and are clearly trying to get control of the healthcare of everyone on earth.) Two, concerning world government and world religion: on Jan. 17, 2024, following a speech that Pope Francis sent to the WEF24 meeting in Davos, Catholic Archbishop Vigano released a statement saying:
(My opinion: I do not believe the Antichrist will rule from Rome, but the False Prophet will support the Antichrist, and the False Prophet may come from Rome.) (More: White House Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said the post-World War II international order “seems to be not that order anymore. We are on the way to a new order, so we are between orders.” This sounds like the Biden administration believes the world is in a transition period between the old world order and the New World Order; world government.) (More: Klaus Schwab, head of the WEF, said governments and “decision-makers” must “break the cycle” of nationalism and individualism to achieve its Great Reset objectives.) Three, concerning world government: on Jan. 17, 2024, UN Sec. Gen. Guterres:
Four, concerning a godless world government headed by an antichrist leader: this week, Laura J. Wellington, an award-winning author and blogger who attended the recent WEF meeting, wrote:

When the next Jewish Temple is built, those who build it and serve there must be descendants of Aaron, and they must be cleansed with the water of purification made with the ashes of a red heifer that was pure and unblemished. But for almost 2,000 years, Israel didn’t have one because the Romans destroyed their herd of Red Heifers when they destroyed Israel in 70 A.D. In Sept. 2022, a rancher in Texas had five red heifers that were pure and without blemish, and they were moved from Texas to Israel. On July 16, 2023, it was reported that three of the red heifers were still pure and without blemish, and if just one of these red heifers remained unblemished until early 2024, it could be sacrificed on Passover, and its ashes could be used to cleanse priests to build the next Temple and serve there. On Aug. 8, 2023, it was reported that the Israeli government has discretely shifted some funds to prepare for purification services and possibly the construction of a third Temple. According to the report, little is being said about this because rebuilding the Temple is an explosive issue. On Jan. 14, 2024, a spokesperson for Hamas was being interviewed on TV, and he said bringing red cows to Israel was the “application of a detestable religious myth” that ignored and hurt the feelings of the Arabs. Following the arrival of the 5 Red Heifers in Israel, Hamas had warned that they posed a threat to the Al-Aqsa Mosque on the Temple Mount. The Hamas spokesperson seemed to be saying Hamas started the Israel-Hamas war to stop the Jews from sacrificing a Red Heifer and rebuilding the Temple. Six, concerning the decline of the U.S.: on Jan. 18, 2024, it was reported that the military can no longer meet its recruiting requirements, and it is finding that some white men are refusing to serve in a military that discriminates against white people. Seven, concerning the decline of America: U.S. citizens must show a passport or a valid ID to fly in or out of the U.S.. On Jan. 24, 2024, it was reported that the Biden Administration is seeking ways to let illegal aliens fly without a passport or ID. (My opinion: Biden is trying harder to protect Hamas terrorists and illegal aliens than he is trying to protect Israel and the U.S.) Eight, concerning the decline of the U.S.: on Jan. 19, 2024, it was reported that First Lady Jill Biden will be sponsoring an Easter Egg decorating contest at the White House, but contestants cannot put religious themes on their eggs (They can’t use anything about Passover, the cross, the resurrection of Jesus, etc.). (Note: Passover and Easter are about the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. It looks like the spirit of antichrist has taken over the White House.) Nine, concerning wars and rumors of wars at the end of the age: on Jan. 18, 2024, prophecy expert Amir Tsarfati listed 8 areas of conflict that are taking place now.
Ten, concerning deceit and corruption in the White House: while campaigning for Pres. in 2022, now Pres. Biden said Hunter’s Laptop from Hell was “a bunch of garbage” and a “Russian Plant” that nobody believes. On Jan. 18, 2024, the U.S. Dept. of Justice said that the laptop belonged to Hunter, and it is not Russian disinformation. Eleven, concerning corruption and a stolen election in 2020: two professors (one at the Univ. of Michigan and the other at Auburn Univ.) have proven that Dominion Voting Machines can be hacked, and the votes can be altered. The professors proved this by hacking into a Dominion Voting Machine Tabulator in the presence of a judge in court and changing the vote totals on Jan. 19, 2024. One of the professors issued a report on this in the past (date not given in the article), but the Georgia Sec. of State covered it up until a Federal District Court Judge unsealed it in June 2023. (By the way: On Jan. 22, 2024, it was reported that Biden spent the weekend at his 3.4-million-dollar home in Delaware. Some media is reporting that he has spent 432 days – almost 40% – of his presidency on vacation.) All of the airstrikes that we have conducted so far against Iranian-backed terror groups in Iraq and Syria have not caused them to back down. The truth is that the U.S. is already at war in the Middle East, and it appears that it could soon take an apocalyptic turn. U.S. forces in the Middle East have been attacked time after time over the past couple of months, but Sunday’s attack was the first one that actually killed members of the U.S. military… Three U.S. service members were killed and dozens may be wounded after an unmanned aerial drone attack on U.S. forces stationed in northeastern Jordan near the Syrian border, President Joe Biden and U.S. officials said on Sunday. Biden blamed Iran-backed groups for the attack, the first deadly strike against U.S. forces since the Israel-Hamas war erupted in October and sent shock waves throughout the Middle East. It was just a matter of time before something like this happened. Overall, U.S. troops in Iraq and Syria have been attacked more than 150 times since October 17th… Iranian-backed militias have mounted more that 150 attacks since Oct. 17 on bases occupied by U.S. troops in Iraq and Syria, according to the Pentagon. The majority of the attacks have been with rockets and one-way attack drones, most of which have been intercepted. When someone attacks your forces more than 150 times, you are at war with them. Anyone that thinks otherwise is just being delusional. In response to Sunday’s attack, Joe Biden told the world that “we will hold all those responsible to account at a time and in a manner of our choosing”… “While we are still gathering the facts of this attack, we know it was carried out by radical Iran-backed militant groups operating in Syria and Iraq,” Biden said in a statement. “Have no doubt – we will hold all those responsible to account at a time and in a manner of our choosing,” he said. Needless to say, this was not strong enough for many Republican hawks in Congress. Here are just a few of their quotes that have been compiled by Axios… -Mitch McConnell: Senate Minority Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) called for “serious, crippling costs” to Iran, “not only on front-line terrorist proxies, but on their Iranian sponsors who wear American blood as a badge of honor.” -Lindsey Graham: Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), said in a statement the attacks the U.S. has carried out on Iranian proxies outside Iran “will not deter Iranian aggression,” calling to “strike targets of significance inside Iran.” -Tom Cotton: “The only answer to these attacks must be devastating military retaliation against Iran’s terrorist forces, both in Iran and across the Middle East,” said Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.). “Anything less will confirm Joe Biden as a coward unworthy of being commander-in-chief.” -John Cornyn: Sen. John Cornyn, in a post on the social media site X, said: “Target Tehran,” later specifying that he wants the U.S. to strike Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. and its Quds Force branch. Okay, so let’s imagine that Biden does what they want. Would the Iranians respond by launching missiles at U.S. targets in the region? And how would we respond if the Iranians made such a move? When it comes to geopolitics, one must always be thinking several moves ahead. Meanwhile, one of Israel’s most prominent politicians is warning that Iran has become a “legitimate target” for Israeli missiles… Iran is now a “legitimate target” for Israeli missile strikes, one of the country’s most senior ministers has told the Telegraph, raising the prospect of an all-out war with Tehran. In a wide-ranging interview, Nir Barkat, Israel’s economy minister, also said Palestinians from the West Bank would never be allowed to work in the country again and would be replaced by more than a quarter of a million imported foreign workers. He also complained that the war in Gaza had not been fought aggressively enough. Those that are urging military strikes against targets inside Iran are assuming that the Iranians only possess conventional weapons. But what if this isn’t true? In fact, for a long time there have been many that have tried to warn us that this isn’t true. The Iranians are not showing us all their cards, and they have been preparing for this showdown for decades. Interestingly, the Iranians just launched three new satellites into space… Iran says it has successfully launched three indigenous satellites into orbit using the Simorgh carrier rocket, marking the first time the country has simultaneously sent three satellites into space. The satellites launched early on Sunday include Mahda, weighing 32 kg, and two nano-satellites, Keyhan 2 and Hatef 1, of less than 10 kg, sent to a minimum orbit of 450 kilometers (279 miles) and a maximum of 1,100 km (683.5 mi), state media reported, citing the public relations wing of the Defense Ministry. The Simorgh satellite carrier that carried the three satellites to space has been developed by Iran’s Defense Ministry, the ministry statement noted. It is believed that these satellites have been sent into orbit for the purpose of guiding ballistic missiles. We are so close to the unthinkable. Once missiles start flying all over the region, the Middle East will never be the same again. Meanwhile, the Chinese continue to probe Taiwan’s defenses… Taiwan’s defense ministry announced on Saturday that over 30 Chinese warplanes were headed toward its country, in addition to navy ships. Thirty-three aircraft were sent by the Chinese People’s Liberation Army from 6 a.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday, officials said. The aircraft included SU-30 fighters. An apocalyptic conflict in the Middle East would give China the perfect opportunity to try to “reunite” with Taiwan by force. So let’s keep a close eye on the Chinese. And let us not forget about the Russians. Over the weekend, they took even more territory from the Ukrainians. This is a time of “wars and rumors of wars”, and those that are familiar with my work will not be surprised to hear that I believe that things will greatly escalate later this year. We should hope for peace, but we should also prepare for war. Because war is definitely coming, and it will shake billions out of their current state of complacency. In the natural realm, this represents danger and death. If Israel remains God’s chosen people to whom He gave the Land of Israel, and they are, then the current position of the U.S. government is foolhardy at best. Let’s begin by examining what President Biden and U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken bring to the table. They claim that the only path to peace is the establishment of a Palestinian State, which would divide both the Land and Jerusalem. Even worse, they are attempting to force Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to accept their solution. In an article on her website, Caroline Glick wrote, “The Biden administration showed its hand on Tuesday when U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken gave Israel an ultimatum to support Palestinian statehood or risk demonization by the administration.” This is blackmail; it’s the U.S. seeking to impose its will in defiance of Israel’s elected leader. This strong-armed approach displays a total lack of concern for its people. The January 22, 2024, Harbinger’s Daily update on Israel’s ongoing war contains quotes from the Israeli Prime Minister stating his total disagreement with the Biden administration. He recently rejected the U.S. President’s solution of a non-militarized Palestinian state. In doing so, he said, “I will not compromise on full Israeli security control of all territory west of the Jordan River.” Naivety When one considers the position of the Palestinians, one has to wonder if the Biden administration is naïve or purposely seeking to place the continued existence of Israel in jeopardy. Poll after poll reveals that the Palestinians do not favor a two-state solution. The chants of “from the river to the sea,” which we hear in demonstrations across the world, show their true intent: the total abolition of Israel. The January 22, 2024, Harbinger’s Daily Update quoted Khaled Mashal, a Hamas spokesman, as stating that their goal is the “elimination” of the nation of Israel. Is Biden really so ignorant of their demands as to suppose that giving the Palestinians part of the Land will soothe their murderous hatred of Israel and result in peace? Are those seeking a two-state solution genuinely naïve as to think this is the path to peace when those attacking Israel make it abundantly clear that they seek to wipe Israel off the map? It’s doubtful. Defiance of God Even though the nation of Israel is far from a godly entity at the moment, the Land belongs to God, and He has deeded it to the descendants of Jacob. Although the peaceful enjoyment of the Land has always depended upon the faithfulness of the people, the Lord gave it to them as an “everlasting covenant” (Psalm 105:7-11). Additionally, Scripture makes it clear that He forbids any dividing of the Land, which the world now proposes as the sole path to peace. This is just the beginning of the world’s obsession with Jerusalem and the Land of Israel (see Zechariah 12:1-4). In Joel 3:1-3, the Lord refers to the efforts of the nations to divide up His Land as a reason for His judgment of them in the final climatic battle, which is likely His destruction of the world’s armies at His Second Coming. God will severely judge those who seek to divide His Land. Thin Ice The Lord has already shown His displeasure with the efforts of America’s presidents to pressure Israel into giving up land in exchange for peace. I have read several correlations between natural disasters striking the U.S. as the result of the U.S. seeking to make such deals between Israel and her enemies. One website list over a dozen occurrences of God displaying His displeasure at the attempts of the American government to facilitate deals that would divide up the Land of Israel. In each of the instances, calamities struck somewhere in the U.S. Some claim that these are merely “coincidences,” but it has happened far too many times for it not to be a warning from the Lord. That’s why I say the Biden administration is skating on remarkably thin ice with its devious support of solutions that would endanger the welfare of the people of Israel. I don’t know when the ice will break for the Biden administration or for other nations seeking to enforce the two-state solution upon Israel, but the Bible warns that it most certainly will not end well for them. The world’s mindset in regard to Israel signifies the nearness of the seven-year Tribulation, the time of “Jacob’s trouble.” Although the growing betrayal of Israel on the part of America and other nations troubles us, the Bible stated long ago that this would happen in the last days. It’s a part of God’s plan to bring His people to faith in the true Messiah before He returns to establish His rule in Zion. For us, the world’s increased focus on Israel signals our soon departure from the world. Movement into Madness – Terry James - https://terryjamesprophecyline.com/2024/01/28/movement-into-madness/ Perhaps what we are witnessing today in the insanity going on around us can be encapsulated within two verses—a prophecy given to the Apostle Paul to warn this generation: Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. (2 Timothy 3:12–13) And it is the great apostle who was given by the Holy Spirit the words to let us know the causes and effects of the evil deception: And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. (Romans 1:28–32) The old saying, “What goes around comes around,” is certainly true, especially in terms of fallen humanity’s prophetic trek across linear time. The antediluvian evil and wickedness Paul delineates is mirrored precisely in this generation. We are enduring madness wrought by humanity turning its back to God and determining to do what is right in their own mind. Or, I should say more accurately, determining to do what is right in the eyes of their father, the devil. For all who are not in Christ are fallen through Lucifer, their progenitor, in that sense. He introduced sin into the human bloodstream. That venom has the vast majority of humankind infected and affected by the reprobate mind—upside-down thinking that is opposite the thinking of the redeemed mind that produces righteous acts. That righteousness is found only in the Lord Jesus Christ, who takes away the sin of the world. In thinking on the things ripping at the very fabric of civilization and their root causes, two quite timely articles came before me. The first gets more into the causes and the second into the effects. Here are excerpts of each: Discussions on collapse often turn to signs and signals – The economy, politics and social tensions have become increasingly unstable for many years now, and much like adding more and more weight to a man standing on a frozen lake, eventually the ice is going to break. The question is, how do we know when that moment will be? As cultural systems begin to dissolve due to political clashes and economic decline the real evil tends to slither out of the woodwork. It happens slowly at first, then all at once. A sure sign of accelerating collapse is the growing prevalence of psychopaths and psychopathic behavior in the open. The US appears to have entered the middle stages of such a collapse with many sociopaths and psychopaths beginning to feel that they might be able to act out their worst impulses without consequences. They are beginning to test the waters to see what they can get away with. (Tyler Durden, “Increasing Psychopathic Behavior Is a Sign That Society Is on the Verge of Breaking Down,” ZeroHedge, 1/16/24) When people have a distorted moral value system, that distortion applies to just about every issue. Just as a broken compass will almost always point in the wrong direction, a broken moral compass will do the same. However, to be more precise, people who say “men give birth” and who side with Hamas, i.e., progressives and leftists—liberals don’t believe men give birth or side with Hamas—do not merely have a broken moral compass. They have a moral compass that works in the way progressives and leftists have configured it: North always points south and east always points west. Some examples of how the progressive compass works: — Women who object to men who say they are women competing in women’s sports—even in weightlifting—are haters and bigots (“transphobes”). The men who compete against them are heroes. Adults who object to schools’ sponsoring drag queen performances for 6-year-olds are haters and bigots (“transphobes”). The teachers who take children to drag queen events are progressive, compassionate and open-minded. If a 9-year-old girl says she is a boy, the only therapists she is allowed to see are those who engage in “gender affirmation,” which is, of course, a left-wing Orwellian term. The one thing these therapists do not do is affirm the actual gender of the child. All-black dorms on college campuses are anti-racist. Objecting to racially segregated dorms is racist. Those who want to build walls or fences to prevent millions of people from illegally entering the country are xenophobic. Those who oppose building such barriers and declare their cities “sanctuary cities” are humanitarians. Demanding that citizens show a voter ID before being allowed to vote—the norm in virtually every democracy in the world—constitutes “voter suppression.” If we have fewer police officers, we will have safer cities. Marriage is a product of patriarchal misogyny. It wasn’t created to protect and honor women, but to exploit them. Anyway, a woman needs a man as much as a fish needs a bicycle. Scientists who express skepticism about catastrophic man-made global warming are science-deniers. These are some of the morally and factually perverse positions of the left. Just about every individual who holds these positions also holds the morally perverse position that Israel is the villain and Hamas and its Palestinian supporters are the moral party. It is increasingly clear to those who view Bible prophecy in its stage-setting as God’s Word plainly presents it—from the pre-Trib View—that the reprobate mind as in antediluvian times reported by Paul is now manifesting as in the days of Noah. Jesus said when this point is reached–“like it was in the days of Noah”—He would again intervene catastrophically into the evil and wicked affairs of humankind. That intervention will come instantaneously (“in the twinkling of an eye”). It will be the Rapture of all whom God considers righteous. Here is how to make sure you possess that righteousness, thus will hear Christ’s call in the Rapture, and will go to Him and to safety from God’s wrath that will be poured upon the anti-God rebels on earth. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Part of the lyrics went: “There’s a long lonely road and there’s no turning back now, to a place, to a time, that we knew along the way.” The song spoke to how our own life is solitary in the sense that we each make our own way and no matter how much time there is ahead, we cannot go back in time. We might think of times past, but life never stands still. It is our life and our journey. The choices we make determine not only our path, but also our destiny. That road in this world can be full of woe if indeed we choose to take it truly alone, meaning void of Christ, who told us he would never leave us, even in time of despair. Our example is found in the book of Exodus. After Pharaoh had let the Israelites go, God took them by way of the desert to the Sea of Reeds. The LORD went before them in a column of cloud during the day, and a column of fire at night. They camped by B’aal Tzefon, an Egyptian idol—the only one left in Egypt after the plagues. God wanted Pharaoh to think that the Israelites’ God was unable to defeat Ba’al, and the LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart once again to draw him to the final showdown. Pharaoh and his army came after the Israelites, and when the people saw them approaching they cried out to God and blamed Moses for getting them in this situation. In Exodus 14:13 Moses told them not to fear, but to be steady and see “the salvation of the LORD, which he will show you today.” Then the Angel of the LORD went behind them in a dark cloud to keep the Egyptians from following the Israelites. The LORD told Moses to raise his staff over the water, and the waters divided in two, a wall on each side, and the Israelites crossed over on dry land. This dividing of the Sea metaphorically is also the Israelites’ fate divided from the before (of slavery), to the after (of freedom)–From Pharaoh’s possession, to God’s. The word Hebrew can be translated as “one who crosses over.” The crossing of the Sea was a type of baptism for Israel—from death to life, and they became a new creation. The same is true for us when we choose to follow God and become His, we are then a new creation, and our hearts are no longer in bondage to the enemy. The road of life is similar to dry land between the high waters. That road on earth can be pretty lonely and dangerous if we do not have the LORD. Like the Israelites before us, we can travel life from the perspective of all that is wrong with the world and worry about the perils ahead. But if we have the LORD, the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, we have the comfort of a travel companion that ensures no matter what happens, eternal life is the destiny. For as is written in Hebrews 13:5,6, “Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you. So we may boldly say: “The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”” Let us choose to travel that lonely earthly road of life, not alone, but with the LORD of our salvation. And most of the time, it’s a lot easier to walk than to run. The Bible uses the metaphor of walking as well as running, and in the Book of Isaiah, we find this promise: “But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint” (Isaiah 40:31 NLT). In the race of life, the objective is not to run fast; it’s to run long. The objective is to cross the finish line. The apostle Paul wrote, “I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us” (Philippians 3:14 NLT). Then Paul added this thought: “Let all who are spiritually mature agree on these things” (verse 15 NLT). In other words, he was saying that if we want to grow spiritually, then we need to learn how to pace ourselves in the race of life. Some people seem to have a yo-yo type of relationship with God. Either they are fully passionate, or they are half-hearted. One day they are so excited about Jesus that it borders on being obnoxious. But another day they’re depressed and struggling with sin. We need to learn how to pace ourselves. We need to learn how to find consistency. That is why, after his sin with Bathsheba, King David prayed, “Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me” (Psalm 51:10 NLT). David was saying, “Help me to be consistent.” And that is what we need in our lives too. When we first come to Christ, there is initial excitement. There’s joy and peace. That is not to suggest those things go away. But it is to say that sooner or later, we must learn that the Christian life is a walk of faith and not of feeling. Feelings will come and go. Therefore, we need to learn to walk by faith. That is what a man named Enoch did. In fact, the Bible tells us that he walked with God for 300 years. He walked with God when most others would not. And his story teaches us how we can not only win the race of life but also keep going, even when things get hard. Enoch lived during the time before God’s judgment on the earth by the Flood. The Bible says of this time, “The Lord observed the extent of human wickedness on the earth, and he saw that everything they thought or imagined was consistently and totally evil” (Genesis 6:5 NLT). People were extremely wicked—so wicked, in fact, that God said He was sorry that He had ever made them. Yet in the midst of this dark world was someone who walked with God. Enoch showed us that it is possible to live a godly life in an ungodly world.
