(Galilee, Israel) — Israel is winning the war in Gaza. Don’t let the media tell you otherwise. On Sunday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have destroyed 17 of 24 Hamas battalions. Thousands of buildings used to house terrorists and their war materiel have been demolished, and kilometers of underground tunnels are being blown apart weekly. A massive number of weapons, from explosives to rockets to automatic rifles to handguns, have been found and confiscated. Still the work is not yet done. The IDF has yet to capture or eliminate Yahya Sinwar, Hamas’s chief in Gaza, who is currently on the run from one hiding place to another. It is without question that he has surrounded himself with a human shield of Israeli hostages. There are still thousands of Hamas terrorists in Khan Yunis and down in Rafah. Although, today, Rafah has one fewer after Majdi Abd al-Aal, commander of the special forces of Hamas police in the area, was taken out in a targeted killing. The work in Khan Yunis, then down toward the Egyptian border, will continue until the threat is completely neutralized. Despite defeat after defeat, Hamas seems to think they are winning. That is the only explanation for their ridiculous response to the Qatar, US, and Egypt-brokered ceasefire proposal. While verbally giving a generally positive response, they then issued a counterproposal that, according to the Lebanese Al-Akhbar newspaper, essentially stated: 1) we want all IDF soldiers out, 2) let’s go back to how it was before we slaughtered your people, with the same borders and international guarantees that you’ll stay on your side from now on, and 3) we don’t want Jews up on the Temple Mount anymore. In return, we’ll give back your hostages over a 135-day period. How could Israel say “no” to such a gracious offer? Alas, it seems that Israel will, in fact, say “no”. Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant told US Secretary of State Antony Blinken that it is quite obvious that Hamas’s answer “was drafted in a way that will make Israel reject it.” Based on Netanyahu’s statements of the last week, Israel’s counterproposal to Hamas would be more along the lines of “surrender or die.” If that sounds harsh, then remember what these vicious animals did on October 7. If you need your memory jogged, watch the video that Israel presented to the International Court of Justice. However, let me give you my strongest warning before you do. Murder, mutilation, rape, beatings, kidnapping – all were part of Hamas’s actions that day. Still today, over 100 days later, 136 hostages are being held. However, of that number, we know that at least 31 have perished in captivity. Israel cannot afford to let the Hamas terrorist organization continue to exist. Hundreds of Israelis are fed up with their country sending humanitarian aid into Gaza. Taking matters into their own hands, they are blocking the transports of this aid. It is not because they want to take vengeance on the Gazan civilians. It’s because they recognize that a majority of the aid sent ends up in the hands of the terrorists. Netanyahu recently estimated 60% of humanitarian aid is taken by Hamas, but many believe the number to be as high as 80%. The Gazans themselves tell of this theft, often carried out by Hamas soldiers who liberally use clubs to beat back those who are in need. The West Bank The fighting continues daily in the West Bank as the IDF seeks to root out Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ). Many people think the greatest threats are in the south and in the north, but I believe it is quite possible that an October 7-like massacre could come from the West Bank. First, the will is there. Most Palestinians in whatever part of the region they are in support Hamas. Second, the ability is there. The West Bank has been heavily weaponized through smuggling over the years. If there were an attack, there would be no shortage of guns or ammunition. Finally, the hostile attitude of the U.S. and Europe against Jews living in the West Bank emboldens the Palestinians living there, giving them an excuse to attack. The terrorist groups must be eliminated from the area. Lebanon and Syria Rockets flew from Syria toward Golan at the beginning of the week, leading Israel to target a site in Homs belonging to pro-Iranian militias. In Lebanon, rockets and projectiles are daily being fired across the border at Israel. In return, Israel is regularly flying sorties into Lebanon, particularly in the southern portion. In the past months, according to spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari, the IDF has eliminated 200 Hezbollah terrorists and destroyed 120 observation posts, 40 weapons depots, and 40 command centers. It is essential that the IDF soften Hezbollah’s infrastructure in the south of Lebanon before Israel’s northern border war begins. Argentina On a bright note, Argentina’s new president Javier Milei has come to Israel, meeting with President Isaac Herzog on Tuesday and Prime Minister Netanyahu on Wednesday. When he first arrived, Milei immediately announced Argentina’s intention to move the country’s embassy to Jerusalem. Milei’s visit has included an emotional trip to the Western Wall, and many diplomatic talks about expanding the economic relationship between the two countries. Thank you, President Milei and Argentina, for showing yourselves to be great friends of Israel! Saudi Arabia The Riyadh government has spent much effort trying to repair the damage caused by the United States when it was leaked to the media that Saudi Arabia was willing to soften its position toward Israel, even while the Gaza conflict continues. This rumor was then reaffirmed by US Secretary of State Blinken. The accusation brought great embarrassment to the Saudis, who are, in fact, pursuing a stronger relationship with Israel but in an extremely quiet manner. This leak to the media forced Riyadh to come out with a strong denial, stating that a relationship with Israel will not be normalized without a Palestinian state. US Bases in Iraq and Syria The US launched a retaliatory strike against Iran-supported militias in Iraq and Syria on Saturday in response to the deadly attack on American troops last week. Eighty-five targets were hit using 125 precision weapons, killing nearly 40 people. On Monday, however, the militias were back in action, conducting a drone attack at the American base at Al-Omar oil field which killed six US-allied Kurdish fighters. Last night, the US took more decisive action against Kataib Hezbollah, the Iran-backed militia responsible for the January 28 attack on an American base that left three US soldiers dead. A missile fired from an American drone destroyed a car traveling in eastern Baghdad. Among the three killed in the vehicle was Abu Baqir Al-Saadi, the commander of Kataib Hezbollah’s operations in Syria and the man directly responsible for the deadly attack that killed the three American troops. Al-Saadi is the most senior person to be killed on Iraqi soil since the targeted eliminations of Qassem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis in January 2020. Also killed in last night’s strike was Arkan Al-Alawi who oversaw the sending of UAVs from Iraq to Israel. As positive as it is to have those two Hezbollah terrorist commanders removed from the playing field, Iran couldn’t have asked for a better US reaction. First, no Iranian was killed or asset damaged on Iranian soil. The loss of Soleimani four years ago was devastating to Iran, because he was a Persian who headed the IRGC’s Quds Force. In contrast, Al-Saadi and Al-Alawi were not Iranian but Iraqi. Thus, while their skills may be missed, they are still only expendable Arabs to Iran. Second, the assassinations took place in Iraq violating Iraqi sovereignty. This gives the Iraqis an excuse to kick the Americans out and the pro-Iranian terrorist militias a reason to seek revenge against US troops and assets. Once again, Iran’s Persian hands remain clean, while their Arab minions spill their blood to further Tehran’s agenda. Yemen Saturday saw the US and the UK hitting back hard against the Houthi infrastructure in Yemen. Struck were 36 targets in 13 sites in retaliation for the near daily missile and drone attacks by the Houthis against shipping in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. The government in Jordan is in hot water after it was discovered that it was participating in a “land bridge” to get necessary goods to Israel. Ships docked in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and their contents were loaded onto trucks. Those trucks were then driven across Saudi Arabia, through Jordan, and into Israel, thus bypassing the Houthi blockade of the Red Sea. NATO Turkey has finally given its okay to Sweden’s joining NATO. That should clear the path, right? Hold on a minute. Hungary is still dragging its feet. While some say that it is an internal political issue with President Viktor Orbán’s party saying that Sweden has lied about the quality of their democracy, others say it is Orbán himself who is blocking the way. They claim that the president, channeling his inner Rodney Dangerfield, feels that Hungary “don’t get no respect” from Sweden. Orbán, however, tweeted that he’d talked with the NATO secretary-general and expressed his support for Sweden’s membership. Whatever the real story is, Hungary needs to get it figured out. The Ongoing Inward Struggle Of The Jewish People – Physical And Spiritual – By Dean Dwyer - https://harbingersdaily.com/the-ongoing-inward-struggle-of-the-jewish-people-physical-and-spiritual/ To the unbelieving world, blindness is only apparent in its physical form. But to us who believe, we know there are two types of blindness – physical and spiritual. In Aramaic, the term often used for a blind person is actually compromised of two words by way of a rhetorical device known as antiphrasis. This means that one says the exact opposite of what they mean. The Aramaic term is sagi (“much”) nahor (“light”). So, you are able to see that the term refers, somewhat paradoxically, to the unseeing. Talmudic scholars say it refers to someone who is both blind and wise – a person who can supposedly see great spiritual truth even though they are blind. But does this line up with Scripture? Though we rejoice that many individual Jews have expressed a saving faith in Yeshua, national Israel is currently in a period of blindness. Romans 11:25 explains: “For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.” Of course, this passage is not referring to physical blindness. The Greek word used here refers to a hardness of heart which causes perception to be blunted. The same word is used in Ephesians 4:17-18: “This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart.” Although technology and medical knowledge sometimes makes it possible to aid those with physical blindness, the issue of spiritual blindness is another matter altogether. Many have tried to reverse their spiritual blindness through their own wisdom and enquiry. In the process, many false religions have been propagated, with New Age standing apart from the crowd as one which specifically aims to “bring love and light”. But, although the Scriptures speak very clearly against false religion, in many ways the Lord reserved His harshest criticism for Israel – the nation which was the direct recipient of His revelation. The consequences are serious – not only for the individual but also for their nation. In Isaiah 56:10 we read: “His watchmen are blind, they are all ignorant; they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber.” Additionally, as Jesus said of the scribes and Pharisees in Matthew 15:14: “They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch.” The solution to this blindness, as Jesus recounted to Nicodemus, is to be born again (John 3:3). Leaving aside the spiritual blindness of national Israel momentarily, it is obvious that the spiritual blindness of Western leaders is becoming a serious problem in this age, particularly when it comes to knowing how to deal with evil. Sadly, this is most evident in the pressure being brought upon Israel to cease its war against Hamas in Gaza and not start a war against Hezbollah in Lebanon. Israel’s leaders did not start this war. The nations may be calling for peace but let’s not forget there was peace on 6 October 2023. Hamas broke the peace and they must be destroyed because of the unspeakable evil they perpetrated against the Jewish people. That is the only way to deal with this level of evil. Yet, the USA in particular seems intent on promoting the interests of Iran, believing that the Iranians are able to bring stability to the Middle East. For anybody who believes that, then they are clearly ignorant when it comes to the beliefs of the “Twelvers” of Shiite ideology. But once again, outside forces are bringing to light the ongoing inward struggle of the Jewish people – physical and spiritual. During the years of the “Final Solution” (1942 to 1945), for those who survived the gas chambers, the isolation of camps and ghettos was intended to bring about social separation which would aid in the control and monitoring of Jews. It was under these horrific circumstances that some Jews, as stated in the written works Years Wherein We Have Seen Evil, “found within themselves the inner strength to examine their situation and to try and find meaning in the events that controlled their very existence.” In the very circumstances which were intended to break them, many Jews struggled for humanity, for culture, for normalcy and for life. It was from this struggle that the principle of “spiritual resistance” was born. In fact, for those who clung to this principle, their entire camp and ghetto life became one of resistance. That is why the State of Israel is such an affront to the world. It is a nation whose determined goal is to resist those who call for its destruction. For the most part this is in the form of armed resistance through repelling attacks launched against it and rooting out terrorism within it. However, we also see a growing movement within Israel where spiritual resistance is also becoming prominent. This has been seen predominantly amongst soldiers and in the Yeshivas (an institution devoted to studying the Torah and rabbinic traditions) where they sing “I believe in the coming of the Messiah”. In the Parashat Bo, which is the 15th weekly Torah portion in the annual Jewish cycle of Torah reading, a sobering thought is revealed: darkness is the incubator of hope. In fact, many Jewish scholars argue that we need the darkness no less than the daylight and it is in the darkness of the Exodus that they celebrate the light of redemption and their release from bondage: “…the LORD God brought you out of Egypt by night” (Deuteronomy 16:1). Since darkness is celebrated as the incubator of hope, how fitting that Nicodemus would meet Jesus “by night” (John 3)! As the days grow darker, the time of Israel’s spiritual renewal is growing closer. A remnant will be preserved and the long-awaited kingdom will be established as the Prince of Peace returns to Jerusalem to rule and reign. Charles E Jefferson was quoted as saying: “A small man can see when it is growing dark…but he cannot see beyond the darkness. He does not know how to put a sunbeam into his picture. Not just in some things or even most things but in all things. In the year 2024, we need the Holy Spirit for guidance in discernment more than ever before. We need to test the spirits to see whether they are from God. Does it line up with the Word of God? Does it line up with Jesus? (1 John 4:1). A whole lot of people traveling the wide road to destruction do not have the Holy Spirit to guide them and to make the lies of Lucifer and his minions transparent. If a person who is devoid of the Holy Spirit is relying on a liar’s nose to grow or his pants to catch on fire in order to realize they are being lied to, that person is most likely going to believe the lies. Too bad it is such a catchy little song about instant justice. “Liar liar pants on fire… hanging on the telephone wire.” If a serial liar such as a Biden, an Obama, or a Fauci had their noses grow like Pinocchio every time they lied, those noses would be long enough by now to use them as zip lines to the moon and back. If it were only that simple. Fantasy is fun, but it is not real. We need the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will help you and me and any believer who asks for help. There are so many false prophets and deceivers of all kinds in the world, and the Holy Spirit can see through and identify every last one of them. The Holy Spirit is able at all times to discern between fact and fiction (John 16:13-15). Leftist-programmed AI robots may disagree, but here is a truth nugget: The Holy Spirit is the only 100% reliable fact checker, and the revelations of the Holy Spirit transcend the opinions and beliefs of all fallen humans and all AI robots. The revelations as to what is true and what is false that are given to born again believers by the Holy Spirit are always in perfect harmony with our Heavenly Father, the Holy God of Israel, and with His only begotten Son Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Remember the famous saying that is attributed to Abraham Lincoln, the one that went like this: “You can fool some of the people all of the time, and you can fool all of the people some of the time, but you can’t fool all of the people all of the time.” That is a pretty accurate saying, and there is something that could be added to it that goes like this: “You can’t fool the Holy Spirit any of the time. Not Ever.” No matter how adept at lying a liar is, no matter how subtle the lie might be, the Holy Spirit can and will see through the charade easily and without any difficulty whatsoever, every time without fail. The father of lies is very cunning. He knows how to shape lies and present them in a way that quite often seems to be truthful. Here is a recent example: A television commercial comes on with a nice-looking and extremely likable young man with a sincere and friendly smile. He is a pharmacist, and he is standing in the pharmacy. You can tell by the way he looks and sounds that he really and truly is a genuinely nice and decent person. When he speaks, it seems obvious that he believes what he is saying. This is what he says: “I decided to get the new COVID-19 shot not just to protect myself but to protect my family and those around me and to protect my aging ailing parents. I knew it was just the right thing and the unselfish thing to do.” Was it virtue signaling? Yes, but because he is a pharmacist and he is so likable and so sincere, a lot of folks are going to believe him and assume the COVID-19 shots are safe. The same COVID-19 shots have been proven to be extremely unsafe. Four years of follow-up research have been done since “three weeks to flatten the curve,” and literally a tall mountain of evidence has been made available by actual doctors and scientists who have remained true to their oath of “first do no harm.” Doctors and scientists who are not compromised or in the pocket of the Davos Club, the WHO, the WEF, Big Pharma, or any of the many globalist affiliates. These independent scientists have proven with much evidence that the COVID-19 mRNA shots are unsafe, full of numerous ingredients that are poison to humans, cause multiple forms of quality of life-destroying injuries, and too often kill people of all ages. Yet Big Pharma continues to push its lies and still refers to these brews of abominable sorcery as vaccines that are safe and effective. The money-grubbing mass murderers that run Big Pharma continue to count on the millions of naïve people who refuse to do their own research or to think independently. They, the sorcerers, like their father Lucifer, are very adept at shaping their lies by intentionally using honest and likable, albeit naïve people in their ads and commercials. This is just one example of how subtle the deceptions can be and how much the liars are like their father. The father of lies, who was identified by Jesus in John 8:44 as Satan, has turned lying into a sophisticated art form. God haters from the WHO, the UN, the WEF, and all of the WEF young global leaders trained by Klaus Schwab, as well as all corrupt career politicians from any and every political party worldwide, along with the globalist-owned media, lie about everything. They lie about so-called climate change, the state of the economy, the border crisis, poll numbers, about who the bad guys are and about who the good guys are, and they lie about their political opponents and anyone who challenges their false narratives. They even tell us Islam is a religion of peace while Muslims in multiple nations murder and rape on a daily basis, as well as threaten to slaughter everyone on Earth who refuses to join their death cult, which in fact, is based on and held together by lies. The liars never stop lying. Some know they are lying, and some just believe their own lies. Fortunately, the Holy Spirit is not fooled by the subtle nuances Satan/Lucifer has infused into his art form of lying and deceiving. It is human nature to want to believe people are telling you the truth. Even the little shepherd boy who cried wolf got a second and a third chance in the story before the people of his town realized the boy was making a game out of lying. Having lost all credibility, he cried wolf one last time, but no one went to his aid when a real wolf came along and gobbled him up. The moral of that story is, of course, at some point, lying will cost you, possibly even your life. What is really mind-blowing, though, is that some career politicians have been lying again and again and again over several decades, telling dozens and dozens of whoppers of all sizes, and yet there are people who still don’t question them or seem the least bit bothered. Even when it could be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that any of the self-serving denizens of the Swamp were, in fact, lying through their teeth and not even particularly with a straight face, the loyal voters for these despicable flesh Pinocchio’s just shrug it off as something politicians do and give them a free pass at the voting booth. The lying politicians and their Deep State puppet masters rely on the fact that some of the people actually can be fooled all of the time. Or, as P.T. Barnum once said: “Most of the people can be fooled most of the time.” Everyone who is a serial liar, no matter what their social position, no matter whether they are rich or poor, and no matter their ethnicity or color, yes, every serial liar can call Satan their father. All liars who refuse to repent will share the fate of their father in the place that certain dreamers are hoping and dreaming doesn’t exist. But it does exist, and it won’t be fun, and it won’t be a party. This is what Jesus says about that place: “But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death” (Revelation 21:8). Jesus says that all liars will end up in the lake of fire. There is a way for all liars to avoid the lake of fire. If anyone reading this article is a liar and you know it, here is the solution: Quit lying. Just stop it. Stop it altogether and completely. Repent from lying and ask the Lord for forgiveness. Turn to and trust Jesus for salvation and receive the Holy Spirit into your heart. Become an honest person and dedicate the rest of your life on Earth and throughout all of eternity to being truthful. Allow Jesus to create in you a new heart that wants nothing to do with lying or any of the other above-mentioned character flaws that guarantee a reservation in the lake of fire. Then the Holy Spirit, who sees through all of the constant deception as if it were transparent, will lead you to the truth in all things (John 16:13-15). “If you declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved” (Romans 10:9-10). Heavenly Father, thank you for sending your Son Jesus into this world to die for our sins, and thank you for raising Him from the dead so that we, too, may live forever with you. And thank you for the Holy Spirit, who leads us to the truth in all things. It will not be like an earthly court. There will be no debate about guilt, no objections. There’ll be a prosecution, but no defense. There will be a judge, but no jury. There’ll be a sentence, but no appeal. There will be punishment, but no parole. God’s judgment will be universal, and it will be fair. When you read, “to convict all who are ungodly” (Jude 15), think of the word convince. God will convince those He is about to judge of the fairness of it. “That’s not fair” will not be heard on judgment day. When God judges, the anthem of Heaven will be this: “Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are your judgments” (Revelation 16:7). They’ll be fair because God is presiding over them. God has attributes that no human judge has. God is omnipresent. He’s everywhere at the same time in all places, so He witnesses every sin ever committed by every person. He’s also omniscient. He knows everything—not just what happened, but also our motive. When God judges at the great white throne, Revelation says “the books [are] opened” (20:12). In other words, God has a complete, detailed record of each person’s life. And His judgment will be eternal: “for whom is reserved the blackness of darkness forever” (Jude 13). That’s not easy to hear. But when Jesus discussed hell and heaven, punishment and glory, in Matthew 25, He used the same word—everlasting, eternal (v. 46). OK, so a lot of gloom and doom. We will all stand before God. He will judge you, and He will judge me. But I want you to know this: Judgment is not God’s happy place. He hates it. He will do it, but He doesn’t want to do it. 2 Peter 3:9 says He is “not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” That’s the heart of God. God said, “I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked” (Ezekiel 33:11). And then He says to his people, “Turn, turn from your evil ways! For why should you die?” Hell was not prepared for people. Jesus said it is “everlasting fire prepared for the Devil and his angels” (Matthew 25:41). But God is pro-choice when it comes to eternal matters. If a person says, “I don’t want God in my life,” He won’t force them. G.K. Chesterton said, “Hell is God’s great compliment to the reality of human freedom and the dignity of human choice.” He will honor your choice. But the gloom and doom is something you don’t have to be a part of. James wrote, “Mercy triumphs over judgment” (James 2:13). God loves to show mercy, and He loves to forgive. In John 6:66-68, many of Jesus’ followers turned away and “walked with Him no more.” So, Jesus asked His twelve disciples if they would also leave. And Peter said, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.” If you’re thinking, I’m done with church, with God, with Jesus, I want to ask you a question. Where else are you going to go for forgiveness, and hope, and peace, and meaning in life—and heaven? Because of our sinful nature, there’s any number of reasons why a person could decide just to walk away. But don’t go. Hang in there. Let Him preserve you. Let Him work in you. Lean on Him. And if you are wavering, come back to Him. We follow a God who loves to forgive people. Why not start the new year by saying “yes,” and turning back to Him? Daily Jot: Farm Chronicles: A Super Bowl story - Bill Wilson – www.dailyjot.com Growing up on the farm, we were not only farmers, but also sports fans. Late winter and early spring, it was basketball. Often, I could be found on my stomach in the living room using the electric antenna rotator to get the very best UHF channel for the Boston Celtics game. Usually had to watch it through a lot of TV “snow.” The fall was football. Saturdays were good or bad depending on whether Ohio State won or lost. Sundays decided whether the week ahead would be positive or negative, hinging on how the Dallas Cowboys performed. Yes, I was a Cowboys fan because of a couple of factors—primarily, well, I was a cowboy. I was an over-the-top fan, on my knees screaming at the TV, pounding the floor! My buddy Sonny and I would spend our fall afternoons before and after games out in the yard pretending to be Don Meredith or Bobby Hayes, or Roger Staubach and Drew Pearson. We loved Bob Lilly and LeRoy Jordan on defense. We even bought play helmets at Clicks Department Store and painted them silver and blue with the star. We wrote the players and they wrote back and sent pictures. I later found out through my friend Hall of Fame scout Gil Brandt that he started that program of having players answer their mail. Sonny and I actually became Cowboys fans when we were watching the 1967 NFL Championship game with the Packers and we thought it unfair that a team from Dallas would have to play in 15 below zero weather. That’s when it started and we followed the Cowboys into our adult years. Imagine my excitement when my Dad asked me if I wanted to go see the Cowboys play in the 1972 Super Bowl in New Orleans. He was so understated and calm about it, “Son, would you want to go to the Super Bowl if I could get the tickets?” Do you need to ask? He was able to get the tickets from a friend. In 1972, the Super Bowl had not yet reached ”national holiday” status like it is today. Face value on the tickets was $15. We packed up and left for New Orleans. I was 16 and Dad let me drive part of the way. It was unseasonably cold, 39 degrees. We stayed about 45 miles away in Picayune, MS. We went into New Orleans on Saturday afternoon to see the sites. It was crazy. When two nice young ladies on separate occasions approached me and asked me to “party” with them, Mom called an end to the site seeing. The game was a college-like atmosphere at Tulane Stadium. We were cold because we didn’t bring clothes for cold weather. As the game was winding down, I asked Dad if I could go down on the field. We agreed to a meeting place and I made my way to the sidelines. At that time, you could do that. I saw my favorite players actually on the field. After the game, I was moved out of the way by security as the referees were leaving the field. I was overjoyed as the Cowboys won their first Super Bowl against the Dolphins. Dallas was the team that people said couldn’t win the big game. Many on that team were Christians. And they finally won. As in 2 Chronicles 15:7, “Be strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be awarded.” And I won, too. This young farm boy going to my first Super Bowl with my Dad. There is the spiritual dimension, and as we walk in the Spirit, we know God in the Spirit. Yet we live on the earth. And we need to transfer what we have in the spiritual realm to the earthly realm. The apostle Paul wanted believers to know what was waiting for them in the spiritual realm. He wrote, “All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ” (Ephesians 1:3 NLT). When Paul spoke of the heavenly realms, he wasn’t talking about something that is merely waiting for us in Heaven. He was talking about the supernatural realm. For example, when I travel outside the United States, I still maintain my citizenship as an American, but I am living in the culture of the country I’m visiting. There are things that I need to adapt to. I need to exchange dollars for the currency of that nation. And I need to be aware of the exchange rate so that I know how much I’m spending. Spiritual resources are waiting for the believer who is walking with God. Although there are treasures in the heavenly realms, there are resources that God wants us to start using here. As Christians, we often don’t know all that God has given to us. We don’t know the resources that He has placed into our spiritual bank accounts. For example, we sometimes pray for things that God has already given to us. We might say, “Lord, give me more love,” when the Bible says that God “has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love” (Romans 5:5 nlt). We might pray for more power, yet 2 Peter 1:3 tells us that “by his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life” (NLT). Maybe we have prayed for peace, but Jesus already has said, “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid” (John 14:27 NLT). It is not a matter of needing more; we need to use what we already have. We need to stop living like spiritual paupers and start laying hold of what God has given to us. When we put our faith in Jesus Christ, we have God’s approval. He has adopted us, loves us, has chosen us, and has called us. Therefore, we don’t have to sit around doubting our salvation every other day, feeling defeated and unworthy. We never were worthy and never will be worthy. It is not about worthiness; it is about Jesus and what He has done for us. You and I don’t have to do X, Y, and Z to gain the approval of God. Rather, we need to understand what God has done for us and let it impact the way that we live.
