Following the Creation, God revealed that He wanted people to be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the earth (Gen. 1:28). But everyone perished in the Great Flood except for 8 people (Noah, his wife, their 3 sons, and their sons’ wives). People began to multiply again: Noah’s son Ham begat Cush; then Cush begat Nimrod (Gen.10). Nimrod is credited with building several cities in the Plain of Shinar, he rose to power over those cities, and he didn’t want the residents scattered over the earth. He wanted to abandon God’s instructions to fill the earth and establish a New World Order (an anti-God world government and world religion). One city that Nimrod built was named Babel (a word that is also translated Babylon), and it is sometimes called “the city of Satan.” Nimrod started constructing a tower (called the Tower of Babel) so people could go to heaven their way, not God’s way (Gen. 11). God is not fooled, He is in control, He confused their language so they could not understand each other, and they scattered over all the earth. This eventually led to the formation of sovereign nations with borders. There was a second attempt to establish a New World Order in the days of King Nebuchadnezzar. It took 3 times (between about 606 and 586 B.C.), but Nebuchadnezzar eventually conquered Israel and Jerusalem. He captured many Jews, including Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and he took them back to Babylon. Shortly after he captured them, Nebuchadnezzar had a dream that troubled him. It was a Gentile timeline (Times of the Gentiles; a period when Jerusalem would be under the control of Gentile empires) from Babylon to the coming of a Rock that would fill the whole earth (the Second Coming and Millennial reign of Jesus). The statue had a head of gold, chest and arms of silver, belly and thigh of brass, the upper legs were iron, the lower legs would break into pieces, they would reunite and be mixed with clay in the feet (Dan. 2). Daniel interpreted the dream for him: Babylon would be replaced by a second kingdom (Medes and Persians), the second kingdom would be replaced by a third kingdom (Greece), the third kingdom would be replaced by a fourth kingdom (the Roman Empire), the fourth kingdom would break into pieces (nations; France, UK, Spain, etc.), the pieces would reunite at the end of the age and be joined by others (EU plus other nations), and a Rock would destroy them when history reaches the tip of the toes. About 16-20 years passed, and Nebuchadnezzar never forgot his troubling dream. He didn’t want Babylon to be replaced by the second kingdom. He hoped Daniel’s interpretation was wrong and Babylon would last forever. He decided to build a statue like the one in his dream, but it would be made of gold from the top of its head to the tip of its toes (no silver, brass, Iron, or clay). It would be a rejection of the idea that the kingdoms of silver, brass, Iron, and Iron plus clay would ever come into being. It would signify that Daniel’s God-given interpretation would not come to pass and it would promote a coming New World Order and a new world religion. Nebuchadnezzar scheduled a dedication ceremony, gathered leaders from all over his kingdom, and ordered them to bow down and worship his statue. To make a long story short, Nebuchadnezzar’s New World Order failed, Babylon was conquered by the Medes and Persians, and Daniel’s interpretation of Nebuchadnezzar’s dream has been fulfilled exactly as prophesied up to this point. According to the Bible, there will be a third New World Order, and among other things, it is called Mystery Babylon the Great, the Mother of Harlots and Abominations of the Earth (Rev. 17-18). Good prophecy teachers disagree over whether the prophecy is literal (ancient Babylon will literally be rebuilt) or allegorical (Babylon is the USA, New York City, etc.), but they all agree that a Satanic New World Order is coming, and it will be destroyed by God (The Ten Kings will destroy the global religion, and Jesus will have the Antichrist and False Prophet cast into the Lake of Fire). Those who promote the New World Order today are not great men. They are failures who desire to hide from the One who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb (Rev. 6:17). Here are some articles that seem to indicate that the Tribulation Period is close. One, concerning a departing from the faith at the end of the age: on Feb. 4, 2024, it was reported that 90 Catholic clergymen, scholars, and authors, have called upon all Catholic Cardinals and Bishops to oppose Pope Francis’ policy that allows priests to bless same-sex marriages. The group also called upon these officials to “ask directly the pope to urgently withdraw this unfortunate document, which is in contradiction with both Scripture and the universal and uninterrupted Tradition of the Church.” (My opinion: Mystery Babylon the Great, the Mother of Harlots and Abominations of the Earth will deliberately and knowingly contradict Scripture.) (FYI: A pastor friend of mine is concerned about terrorists coming across America’s border with Mexico, but he believes God may be causing many Hispanics to come to the U.S. because God wants them to hear the gospel and be saved before it is too late. My friend believes that many Hispanics think they are saved because their parents were Catholic, but people are not saved because of what denomination their parents belonged to. My friend believes that the Hispanics that are coming to this country are a great opportunity for Christians to create and support Hispanic ministries to reach them for Jesus.) Two, concerning Elon Musk’s implantation of a Neuralink chip in a human brain: a reader sent me an article (no information on source) that said, “The promise of transhumanism is the exact same promise the serpent gave to Eve in the Garden: Godlike intelligence and eternal life. You can become a god and live forever.” “And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die [eternal life]: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil” [Godlike intelligence] (Gen. 3:4-5). Three, concerning wars and rumors of wars and the decline of America: on Jan. 27, 2024, Iran-backed militias launched a drone attack on a U.S. base in Jordan, killed 3 U.S. troops, and injured dozens more (shrapnel proves the drone was manufactured in Iran). Pres. Biden said the U.S. will respond at a time and in the manner of our choosing. Three days later, on Jan. 30, 2024, a drone attack in Jordan injured about 40 Arizona National Guard troops (some just cuts and bruises, others traumatic brain injuries, three transferred to a large hospital, one critical, 34 able to return to duty). Two days later, on Feb. 1, 2024, U.S. Sec. of Defense Lloyd Austin said the U.S. is preparing to take significant action in response to the death of 3 U.S. troops that were killed in Jordan. The next day, on Feb. 2, 2024, Iran-back militias vowed to keep striking U.S. troops in Iraq, and Pres. Biden and Defense Sec. Austin were still pondering what to do. Following the arrival of the bodies of 3 deceased soldiers at Dover Air Force Base on Feb. 2. 2024, officials said the U.S. attacked more than 85 targets at 4 sites in Iraq and 3 sites in eastern Syria; none in Iran where the drone that killed the troops was made and some of the killers’ financing originated. On Feb. 2, 2024, it was reported that the White House notified Iraq of the attacks and is fully aware that Iraq probably notified Iran, and most of the terrorists probably went into hiding before they happened. There are accusations that Biden waited 5 days before he attacked to give the terrorists plenty of time to prepare and leave. On Feb. 3, 2024, Iran said most of the fighters and military personnel had left the targeted sights and there was not much damage, but they do not want to expand the war. Iraq reported 16 deaths including civilians and significant damage. Syria reported 23 deaths. On Feb. 4, 2024, Iran said the attacks were a strategic mistake, and they would have no impact except other than increasing the tension and instability in the region. On Feb. 4, 2024, Iranian-backed terrorists used a drone to attack a military base in Syria that houses U.S. troops. No U.S. troops were killed, but 6 Kurdish fighters who were U.S. allies were killed. Four, concerning wars and rumors of wars: on Feb. 2, 2024, it was reported:
Many Israeli tanks, Jeeps, Humvees, and other military vehicles are now moving toward Israel’s border with Lebanon. Five, concerning world government and a borderless world: on Feb. 1, 2024, Biden signed an executive order to impose financial and travel sanctions on 4 Jews living in the West Bank that have been accused of extremist violence against Palestinians, but to date, he has done nothing to Iran whose proxies have killed and injured U.S. troops in Jordan). (My opinion: If Biden can sign an executive order to impose travel sanctions on Jews in the West Bank, he can sign an executive order to impose travel sanctions on illegal aliens and terrorists coming across America’s border with Mexico.) (More: On Feb. 2, 2024, Elon Musk said the strategy behind Biden’s open border policy is “1. Get as many illegals in the country as possible. 2. Legalize them to create a permanent majority – a one-party state.” Six, concerning the decline of America and two sets of laws in the U.S.: 155 Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives (75% of their members) voted against deporting illegal aliens that commit Social Security fraud and/or drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Seven, concerning deceit and a population reduction on earth: a recently released extensive peer-reviewed study of Pfizer’s and Moderna’s vaccines by independent qualified scientists found that for every 100,000 vaccinations, two lives were saved and 27 people died (for every life saved, about 14 people died). Mat Staver, founder of Liberty Council said, “The FDA and the CDC are supposed to protect the people, but they have become the lapdog of the pharmaceutical industry. This must change.” Eight, concerning the Temple Mount: archaeologists that have been sifting through dirt that was removed from the Temple Mount have found two small weights that precede the Muslim conquest of Jerusalem. One of the weights has a cross on the back and that is evidence of Christian activity on the Temple Mount before the Muslims arrived. Nine, concerning the sacrifice of a Red Heifer without blemish: on Passover 2024, here is a link to an excellent video by Michael Samuel Smith (Southwest Radio Church) that I highly recommend (about 36 min.). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Plu8rW72SHU Ten, concerning miracles: on Feb. 4, 2024, it was reported that about 6 weeks ago, a battalion of Israeli troops was advancing in Gaza, sunset was approaching, and the soldier in the rear turned east toward Jerusalem to pray. When he turned to pray, he saw a Hamas terrorist with an RPG in his hands coming up out of a tunnel that the Israeli troops had missed. The Israeli soldier fired, then some of his comrades fired, and they dropped the Hamas terrorist before he could get off a shot. The Israeli soldier’s obedience to God at prayer time probably saved many lives. Eleven, concerning an increase in the frequency and intensity of natural disasters at the end of the age: 8 counties in southern California are under a state of emergency for heavy rain, hurricane-force wind gusts of 60-90 mph, flooding, downed trees, mudslides, and loss of electricity. Twelve, concerning an increase in rain in Israel at the end of the age: Israel has had rain in the north and the south 14 days in a row for the first time in more than 30 years, and the rain is expected to keep coming. The water level in the Sea of Galilee is up more than 10 inches, and it expected to keep rising. Thirteen, concerning an increase in the frequency and intensity of natural disasters at the end of the age: currently, hurricanes are rated from 1-5 (weakest to strongest). On Feb. 6, 2024, it was reported that scientists say hurricanes are growing more intense, and they need to add a Category 6 to the wind scale. As I have discussed previously, I believe that a Great Middle East War will be one of the conflicts that defines World War III. For months, the fighting has mostly been limited to Israel and Hamas, but events on the northern front are really starting to heat up. In fact, as you will see below, the IDF just pummeled Damascus with more airstrikes and the Syrian government is saying that it is ready for war with Israel. So could we soon see a scenario where Israel is fighting an all-out war with Hezbollah and the Syrian army simultaneously? Needless to say, that really would be a nightmare. We are so close to a major regional war, and each new day brings new escalations. Right now, there is a tremendous amount of buzz about Israel’s impending assault on the Hamas stronghold in Rafah. As the Jerusalem Post has pointed out, Hamas desperately needs Rafah if it is to survive… There is likely another side to this. Hamas needs Rafah to survive. This is how Hamas controls humanitarian aid entering Gaza. Hamas has made extreme demands of Israel for a new pause in fighting. It says it could release hostages over several months if Israel moves toward a ceasefire and an end to the war. In essence, Hamas wants Rafah as its main conduit to the international community, so it can control the aid that might enter during a ceasefire. Hamas wants to rebuild capabilities in Rafah and use it as a redoubt to extend its tentacles back throughout Gaza. If Israel really does intend to wipe out Hamas, it must go into Rafah. And it appears that is exactly what is going to happen. Of course Hamas is really freaked out at this moment, and they are desperately trying to get Israel to back off by warning that any attack on Rafah would “torpedo” negotiations for the release of the remaining hostages… “Any attack by the occupation army on the city of Rafah would torpedo the exchange negotiations,” a Hamas leader told the AFP news agency on condition of anonymity. I don’t think those negotiations were really going anywhere, and I am convinced that Israel fully plans to go in. But there is a problem. Most than a million Palestinian civilians have taken refuge in Rafah, and getting them to safety before the assault begins has become a major international issue… Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has pledged “safe passage for the civilian population” of Rafah, where more than 1 million Palestinians are crowded into shelters. A planned Israeli ground assault has spread fear in the southern Gaza city and fueled mounting global alarm. Netanyahu told ABC News that an attack on Rafah was key to defeating Hamas, but it’s unclear where people packed into the city and pressed against the Egyptian border might go to find safety. Once the IDF goes into Rafah, tensions in the region will go to an entirely new level. The Saudi government is warning that there will be “very serious repercussions” if a campaign against Rafah proceeds… CNN reported that Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned Israel of “very serious repercussions” if their forces target Rafah. “The Kingdom affirms its categorical rejection and strong condemnation of their forcible deportation, and renews its demand for an immediate ceasefire,” the ministry said in a statement, according to the outlet. And Egypt is warning that it could actually suspend its peace treaty with the Israelis… Two Egyptian officials and a Western diplomat said Egypt threatened to suspend its peace treaty with Israel if Israel forces were sent into Rafah, The Associated Press reported. European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell wrote on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, that an offensive into Rafah “would lead to an unspeakable humanitarian catastrophe and grave tensions with Egypt.” U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield said an Israeli operation into Rafah “cannot proceed” in an interview with NPR. A tremendous international effort is being made to keep Israel out of Rafah. In the end, I don’t think that it is going to work. I think that Israel will go into Rafah, and when that happens there will be an explosion of international outrage. Could that be one of the events that triggers a full-blown war on the northern front? At this stage, we truly are on the verge of the unthinkable. On Saturday, the IDF once again hammered Damascus with airstrikes… Israeli airstrikes allegedly hit several sites on the outskirts of Damascus on Saturday, according to the Syrian military, while a war monitor said three people were killed in the attacks. The strikes came from the direction of the Golan Heights, Syrian state news agency SANA reported, citing an unnamed military official. It added that Syrian air defenses shot down some missiles and those that landed resulted in “some material losses.” It was not immediately clear if there were casualties. In response, a top Syrian official has reportedly said that Syria “is prepared to engage in conflict with Israel”… Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Miqdad stated that Syria is prepared to engage in conflict with Israel, emphasizing that the liberation of the occupied Golan Heights remains a top priority for Syria. He also reportedly said that Syria will choose “when and how we will enter this war”… #BREAKING Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs: We are ready for war against Israel, but we will decide when and how we will enter this war. Wow. This is really happening. If an all-out war erupts on the northern front and missiles start flying all over the place, Israel will completely flatten both Damascus and Beirut. I do not think that most people understand how cataclysmic this war could potentially become. In anticipation of the coming conflict on the northern front, the Israelis are redeploying one of their most important units to the border with Lebanon… The Israel Defense Force has announced the Immediate Redeployment of the 36th Division also known as the “Ga’ash Formation” from the Central Gaza Strip to the Border with Lebanon amid Escalating Attacks by Hezbollah. The good news is that I don’t think that an all-out war on the northern front will erupt this month. What is new is the way the term is used today by Israel’s enemies to justify anti-semitism. Instead of Iran saying they’re against Israel or they’re against the Jews, they use the word “Zionist,” i.e., “Iran is against the Zionist regime.” This is being used by them often to camouflage their anti-semitism. Being anti-Zionist and hating Zionists is just a new word for an old hatred. What Is Zionism And Where Does It Come From? The idea of being a Zionist is that you are advancing, or you hold to, the idea that Israel has a right to their national homeland. Zionist movements have existed throughout church history, but the modern Zionist movement gained great traction in the late 1800s with Theodore Herzl. When you go to Israel today, you will see his name everywhere. Where does the word “Zion” come from? Zion is one of the hills or mountains in Jerusalem. There are several mountains and small hills that make up the land around the city of Jerusalem. Mount Zion is where the city of David is today, just south of the Temple Mount. You can see it there from the Mount of Olives. “Zion” is often used in the Bible as a synonym for Jerusalem or even the nation as a whole. What Is Christian Zionism? The term “Christian Zionist” came into being in the mid-20th century. Before that, 70-80 years ago, it was known as “Christian restorationism” and had been since 16th century England. These were groups of people who believed that the Jewish people had a right to their ancient homeland being restored. Of course, 1948 was a critical time for Zionists, and certainly Christian Zionists who believe that the re-establishment of Israel was a fulfillment of Bible prophecy and a super sign of the End Times. As a Christian Zionist:
Now, being a Christian Zionist doesn’t mean that we have a blind endorsement of everything that Israel does, but it does mean that we believe that Israel has a right to a secure homeland and to live in that homeland that was given to them by God. My belief and stance as a Christian Zionist is based on the Bible. Primarily on a covenant that God made with Abraham and his descendants 4,000 years ago. This covenant that God made with Abraham is known as the “Abrahamic Covenant.” What Is The Abrahamic Covenant? In Genesis, chapter 12, God gives Abram a promise, “Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing” (Genesis 12:1-2). Now think, that’s an individual promise God gave to Abraham to make his name great. It is followed by a corporate promise or a national promise. God says, “And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee…” This is a promise, really a threat God gives, that those who will bless Abraham and his descendants will be blessed, but the one who curses them God must curse. Now notice God tells Abraham, go from your country, leave your father’s house, and go from your relatives. Abraham, when he leaves Ur of the Chaldeans down near Babylon, fulfills the first prong of these conditions. He left his country, going to a land that God would show him that he had never seen before. He pauses for a little bit in the area of Haran, north of Israel, taking his father and all of his relatives with him—which doesn’t fulfill what God said. When he gets to Haran, his father, Terah, dies. Abram then leaves his father’s house but still takes his relative, Lot, with him to go down into the land. Finally, because of a conflict between Lot and Abram’s herdsman, they part ways. At that point, Abram had fulfilled all three of these prongs: he left his country, his father, and his relatives behind. In chapter 13:14-18, “after Lot separated from Him,” God then comes to Abram and says: “…Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever. And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered. Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee. Then Abram removed his tent, and came and dwelt in the plain of Mamre, which is in Hebron, and built there an altar unto the Lord.” After Abraham fulfills these prongs, God promises to give him as far as he can see in every direction. That land would be given to him forever. In Genesis 15, God memorializes what He promised and makes a blood covenant with Abram. God comes to Abram and instructs him to take a heifer, a goat, and a ram and cut them in half, throwing one of the carcasses on one side and another carcass on the other, making a pathway between them. The word “covenant” means to “cut.” When a covenant was cut, both parties would walk between the pieces of those dead animals to show that if they violated their word and what they promised, they may be like those animals. In other words, they were promising their life. Abram places these animals there and falls asleep. When he wakes up, he sees a smoking oven and a flaming torch. It’s a theophany—a visible appearance of God. He sees this smoking oven and flaming torch walking between the carcasses of those animals. Abram doesn’t ever walk between them. Nothing dependent on Abraham. Everything depended on God. This covenant is a unilateral and eternal covenant. There are no conditions placed on it. God promises Abraham three main things in this covenant: soil, seed, and salvation:
From The Rivers To The Sea? In Chapter 15:18, God promises Abraham a specific land that he’s going to give to His people, “In the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:” They have not always occupied this region. There is a difference between ownership and occupation. In fact, God himself has put them out of the land on various occasions, but they are its owners. When people ask the question, “Who owns the land?” the answer is the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The land God promised is “from the river of Egypt to the great river Euphrates.” Now, the “river of Egypt” is not the Nile River because if it was, the children of Israel would have been in the Promised Land before they ever left Egypt. The Nile River is an unusual river that flows to the north. Up in the delta of the Nile River, there are different branches of the Nile. The easternmost branch was known as the River of Egypt. It’s basically along the line of the modern Suez Canal. So God promised that from along where the Suez Canal is today, all the way up to the Euphrates River, this will be the land given to Abraham and his descendants forever. That includes modern Israel today, what’s called the “West Bank,” the Gaza Strip, most of modern-day Lebanon, a fairly large portion of modern-day Syria (almost up to the city of Damascus), and even a small part of modern-day Iraq. Now, the Jewish people have never inhabited and had control over all of that land at any time in their history—but God promises He will give it to them. I believe it will be in the coming millennium kingdom when God will fulfill this promise regarding this entire land. In the meantime, as a Christian Zionist, I believe that the Jewish people have a right to a homeland, that they are a part of God’s prophetic program, and that 1948 was a significant event. What we see later, if you continue reading through Genesis, is God reiterating this promise to Abraham’s son, Isaac, then to Isaac’s son, Jacob, and their descendants, the 12 tribes of Israel. Isaac, not Ishmael. Jacob, not Esau. In Joshua chapter one, when he comes in to take the land, God says, “Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses. From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea [which is the Mediteranian] toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast” (Joshua 1:3-4). We hear a lot today, “from the river to the sea.” These verses, however, say not just from the river to the sea but from the rivers to the sea. That’s what God has promised to the Jewish people. They’re not going to get all that land until Jesus comes back and fulfills this covenant with Abraham. A Promise-Making, Promise-Keeping God I believe that as Christian Zionists, we want the Jewish people to have a land that they can live in and be safe. Many today claim that because the Jewish People are not believers in Jesus, they have no right to the land. Remember that when God gave the land to Abraham, He did so before Abraham trusted in Him. It was a gracious gift of God to Abraham and his descendants. Based on this promise, you and I should support and pray for Israel. Our God is a promise-making, promise-keeping God. If God doesn’t keep his promise to Abraham, we have no hope that God is going to keep his promises to us. God brought the Jewish people back to their land in 1948. He’s keeping His promise. He’s faithful. All the promises of God are “yes” and “amen” in Jesus Christ. The next promise to be fulfilled on God’s prophetic program is the rapture—and it will be fulfilled in God’s good time. Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Core. These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots; Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever. “And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him. These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men’s persons in admiration because of advantage. “But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit. But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, keeping yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life” (Jude 1:10–21). This describes all of humanity that fell victim, willfully so, to the serpent’s sly phrase: “Yea, hath God said?” Adam’s unbelief in God’s prescription for living eternally with Him immediately caused all of Adam’s progeny to be infected by the serpent’s deadly venom—the sin virus wrapped up in the “mystery of iniquity.” The passage above, given through Jude, describes the absolute depravity of humanity, as America’s founding fathers phrased it in thinking and praying about forming the United States of America. The founders recognized it for what it is—absolute rebellion of humankind and the need to bring that sin-sickness under governance. That’s why most of them agreed to use the term “Creator” to indicate what that governance must take place under. Jude frames why a time will come when all this rebellion, though governed to some extent by law under human government, must be completely destroyed—rooted out from humanity’s “supernatural DNA,” if that’s the proper term in the matter of the souls of humankind. All we have to do is to remember the recent things that continue to plague those who, like the righteous Lot, are “vexed” from day to day by the ungodly we live among. We watch as the wicked and rebellious surrounding us just in America murder more than 65 million children in the womb. They seek incessantly to change God’s order. They strive to make us conform to the madness of gender dysphoria. They demand that we validate and embrace their homosexual lifestyles as normal. They legislate and adjudicate in perverted ways parental rights to protect their children against pedophiles—whom they, along with other criminals set free within the lawless system of governing entities, have become. We are demanded, through climate-change fanaticism, to worship the creation rather than the Creator—whom, it is more than obvious, they seek to cast off as the God who is in control. As Enoch put it, according to Jude, God will come to “execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.” The Tribulation, then, is, in part, to punish the anti-God evil and wicked rebels of planet Earth. Secondly, but even more importantly, is that the Tribulation is to call out people who will be His for eternity. Millions will be saved during this terrible time of God’s wrath and Satan’s rampage against God’s heavenly plan. Here is how God will move Heaven and Hell to bring about that ultimate plan of Redemption–to bring both Gentiles and Jewish people into reconciliation with Himself. God’s anger is righteous, not wicked and evil like that of fallen humankind. He finally must inflict His righteous anger in order to bring a remnant of believers to live with Him forever in never-ending ecstasy in the glory of His presence. Before that terrible Day of the Lord begins, Jesus Christ will step onto the clouds of that glorious dimension and shout, “Come up Here!” (Revelation 4:2). All who have believed in Jesus will go instantaneously to Him to be kept from the time of God’s wrath upon the earth’s rebels. You want to be part of this group of called-out believers, not among those left behind who will have to go through what Jesus said will be the worst time in all of human history. Millions will be saved as believers during that seven years, but most will have to lose their lives—be martyred for their faith. Here is how to go to Christ when He calls and avoid being left behind to suffer through the Tribulation. “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 10:9–10). Even so, come, Lord Jesus. Daily Jot: How can we keep the covenant? – Bill Wilson – www.dailyjot.com There are many times in life where we want to do something, maybe we even commit to doing it, but somehow life happens and we don’t do it. As a coach, I would often ask an athlete why wasn’t the play or drill executed properly. The answer was something like, “Coach, I’m trying.” My response was, “Well, trying ain’t doing.” The Apostle Paul had the same problem. He writes in Romans 7:18-19, “I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my flesh; for I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For I do not do the good I want to do. Instead, I keep on doing the evil I do not want to do.” If we know the Ten Commandments, for example, we know what is right to do, but we often struggle unto the law of sin. In Exodus 24, Moses finished telling the people the laws of the covenant with God, and the people responded with, “Everything that ADONAI has spoken, we will do and obey.” Then Moses sprinkled the blood on the people saying, this is the blood of the covenant...” This is the Mosaic covenant, a type and a place holder of the better covenant to come. In Jeremiah 31:33, God speaks concerning a new covenant, “For this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says LORD, ‘I will put my Torah (law) in their minds and write it on the their hearts.” Now fast forward to Matthew 26:28, where Christ spoke to his disciples in fulfillment of this prophesy, “For this is my blood, which ratifies the New Covenant, my blood shed on behalf of many, so that their sins may be forgiven.” Hebrews 10:1 says the Torah was a shadow of the good things to come, “but not the very image....Therefore, it can never, by the same sacrifices repeated year after year, bring to the goal those who approach the Holy Place to offer them.” In the Messiah, no further sacrifices are necessary, “For by a single offering he has brought to the goal for all time those who are being set apart for God and made holy (verse 14).” Christ Jesus is the true Torah of God. He said in Matthew 5:17 that He came not to abolish but to complete the Torah, and to complete our understanding of the Torah and the prophesies concerning Himself. Certainly, the fulfillment of these scriptures concern the final redemption of Israel, but Christ made the way for us to be included in the New Covenant by His blood! In this is the trying and doing of keeping of the Covenant. Psalm 1:2 states, “Blessed is the man whose delight is in the Law of the LORD, and who meditates upon the Law day and night.” Paul writes in Romans 7:22, “For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and brining me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.” So how do we keep the Covenant? There are 613 “Mishpatim,” or rules, found in the Law of God. Like Paul, we would have no chance but to try. Herein, is the Covenant Keeper within us—Christ Jesus made us free from the law of sin and death. Romans 8:3: “For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh.” If Christ be in us, His Spirit of Life, we can be Covenant Keepers. However, some people argue that it’s wrong to say that God loves everyone because if someone isn’t one of God’s elect, then God doesn’t love them and therefore didn’t die for them. This is foolishness. We ought to take the gospel to every person because we don’t know who the chosen are—or are not. All we know is that God wants everyone to believe. As Dwight L. Moody pointed out, “The whosoever wills are the elect, and the whosoever won’ts are the non-elect.” Our responsibility is to bring the gospel to everyone we can. The apostle Paul wrote, “So we tell others about Christ, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all the wisdom God has given us. We want to present them to God, perfect in their relationship to Christ” (Colossians 1:28 NLT). There is no denying the fact that the Bible appeals to the will of man. Jesus said, “Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die” (John 11:25–26 NLT). Revelation 22 tells us, “The Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come.’ Let anyone who hears this say, ‘Come.’ Let anyone who is thirsty come. Let anyone who desires drink freely from the water of life” (verse 17 NLT). We get hung up on the hows and the whats of predestination, and we miss the whys. Why did God choose us from the foundation of the world? For what did He predestine us? We need to know the answers to these questions. God chose us so that we could have fellowship and intimacy with Him. God wants us to be His children. Ephesians 1:5 says, “God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure” (NLT). Our sin separated us from God, but God adopted us into His family. That is why the Bible says, “And because we are his children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, prompting us to call out, ‘Abba, Father’ ” (Galatians 4:6 nlt). This is the affectionate cry of a child. An English equivalent of “Abba” is “Daddy.” God predestined us to be adopted into His family. But that is not all. He also predestined us to be holy and without blame. In Ephesians 1:4 we read, “Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes” (NLT). This is the outgrowth of relationship. Realizing that we are children of God and that He has forgiven us causes us to want to live a life that honors Him. Holiness speaks of inward purity. And blamelessness speaks of outward purity. It means that we live it both on the inside and the outside. As we spend time walking with God, we will want to become more like Him.
