Khan Yunis Just because the talk on the international stage is about Rafah, that does not mean that the work is done in Gaza. It will still be several years until the tunnel structure that stretches through the entirety of the Gaza Strip is completely destroyed. That being said, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has done a tremendous job neutralizing most of the threat in the north of the Gaza Strip. They accomplished this by going to where Hamas was hiding out and destroying them there. These necessary actions were taken despite those locations typically being protected behind humanitarian façades. Schools, mosques, and hospitals all served as human shields, and most, if not all, contained access to the underground terror tunnels. For a while, this humanitarian lie swayed public opinion against Israel. But most finally realized what was taking place. Even the worthless New York Times had to admit Monday that the Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City was used by Hamas for cover, weapons storage, and as an access point for the tunnels. One of the worst offenders for antisemitic propaganda has been Al Jazeera. Their rhetoric has been over the top and completely one-sided. Now we have a clue as to why. Mohamed Washah, a Palestinian correspondent for the news site, has been discovered to also be a “prominent commander” in a Hamas anti-tank unit. He has also been involved in air unit research and development for the terror organization. Sadly, that is exactly the type of “unbiased” reporter that you’d expect to find working for Al Jazeera. Khan Yunis As in northern Gaza, the IDF’s work in Khan Yunis has been exceptional. The force shown was both overwhelming and humanitarian. I can think of no other war where one combatant has gone through so much trouble to protect the other combatant’s civilians. Phone blasts, leaflet drops – every practical method has been used to warn people ahead of time that the IDF is coming in. It has obviously worked because tens of thousands of people fled further south prior to the operation. What is left to do in Khan Yunis? Of course, there are the tunnels. But as saw earlier, completing that work will be a long-term project. For now, the primary work remaining is under the hospitals. Just like in Gaza, the IDF has left these medical centers for the end. This allows them to be used as long as possible and gives time for the maximum number of civilians to leave the area. Currently, the IDF is focusing on Nasser Medical Complex. The fact that the international media is going crazy over video of people being forced to leave the hospital shows just how short their memories are. In a move that so clearly shows the New York Times for what it is, on each of the two days following the paper’s admission that there were tunnels under Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, as mentioned above, they published articles by their journalist, Raja Abdulrahim, excoriating Israel and the IDF for ordering the evacuation based on claims of Hamas’ activity that “could not be independently verified.” Rafah Just as the IDF was focused on Gaza City then Khan Yunis, it is now setting its sights on Rafah. It is in Rafah that Israeli forces must go to destroy Hamas’s final four remaining battalions of the original 24. As always, the IDF has warned the citizenry, and thousands are fleeing north. Why are they going back the way they originally came? To the east is Israel, to the west is the Mediterranean, and to the south is Egypt. Why not just cross the border to their fellow Muslim country? Because Egypt has made it very clear that they don’t want any Palestinians coming in. There is a strong international push against Israel moving into Rafah. Many nations are against the offensive simply because they don’t want to see Hamas finished off. They see them either as heroes, as victims, or as a necessary foil against Israel. Egypt, in particular, is warning against the offensive, but for a different reason. There are a tremendous number of tunnels between Egypt and Rafah, some of them large enough to drive a truck through. Weapons, ammunition, supplies, and, even, commodities have been smuggled through these tunnels for years. If Israel succeeds in Rafah as they have in northern Gaza and Khan Yunis, the Egyptian corruption that has allowed this smuggling will be exposed and the government will be severely embarrassed on the world stage. An amazing event took place in Rafah early Monday morning in the Shaburah refugee camp. A special hostage rescue team of the Israeli police snuck into the camp, used ladders to climb to the second floor of a building, blew the door off, killed three terrorists, and liberated two October 7 hostages. The entire nation wept with joy as 70-year-old Luis Har and 61-year-old Fernando Simon Marman were brought home and soon reunited with their families. This proved the other reason that the IDF is moving into Rafah. There are still 131 hostages remaining, and many of them are in that part of Gaza. The stories we are hearing from hostages who have come home include the daily raping of both women and men, severe beatings, deprivation, and other brutality. We will bring them all home, and we will make their captors pay most dearly for what they have done. Lebanon The greater war in the north has yet to begin. Hezbollah knows this, and they are scared. Hassan Nasrallah, the secretary-general of the terrorist organization, said on Tuesday, “A strong Israel is a danger to the region, and a weak, deterred, and fearful Israel constitutes a less harmful and catastrophic situation for the countries and peoples of the region. In Lebanon, a strong Israel is a danger to Lebanon, and a deterred Israel is the one whose danger to Lebanon can be reduced.” In other words, “We must win, because we have no other choice.” But Nasrallah’s statement is not completely accurate. If you take his second sentence and change “Lebanon” to “Hezbollah”, that would be closer to the truth. Palestinians and Lebanese are not the same kind of people. Palestinians hate the Jews more than they love their lives. The Lebanese love their lives more than they hate the Jews. A war with Israel will mean many people losing their homes and all they have. Many would see Hezbollah out of their country before they allowed that to happen. The question is whether they are strong enough to accomplish that. I believe they likely have until the middle of May to make it happen. Iran On Wednesday, Iran’s main north-south gas pipeline was cut by two massive explosions. Tehran claims that the incidents were acts of sabotage. Really? I can’t imagine who would ever do such a thing. Totally random thought, this may be a great time to remind everyone of my Nir Tavor Mossad Thriller series. Sorry, can’t imagine what made me think of that just then. If this is an update on Israel’s wars, then why have I included Iran? Because they are the head of the snake. They have done a masterful job keeping their hands clean, while their proxies in Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and Yemen have done all the dirty work. Israel is too busy at home to do anything about Iran. It would take the full power of the United States to bring justice to the radical Islamist regime. But we all know that’s not going to happen any time soon, and possibly never depending on how November’s elections go. What’s going on? Jesus said in the last days, there’s going to be a time of “wars and rumors of Wars” (Matthew 24:6). Now, there have always been wars and rumors of wars, but in the Olivet discourse in Matthew chapter 24, he’s talking about an escalation and frequency of these things. While all these other things are taking place, there’s going to be a coalescing of end-time events. What should the believer do? I know the temptation, I have it just like you, to pull the sheets over our head, turn off the news, and simply not go outside. We can’t live like that. First of all, that would be fear, and we’re not allowed to live in “a spirit of fear” (2 Timothy 1:7). Secondly, we have got to engage those that are around us with the Gospel, that “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son” as a gift to die on the cross for our sins and to be resurrected from the dead for your justification. Tell your neighbors. Tell your friends. Tell your family. You and I are commanded by God to be Salt and Light until the end. That means we are to be involved in everything for the cause of Christ. No matter what it is. If you are in the law enforcement field, a chef at a restaurant, on the football field, or in the office at home, be there for Jesus. These are the last days. All these things that we’re seeing right now should cause us to be motivated. Please get this. Let these things be motivators, not something that causes you to sequester yourself. The world is falling apart; get up and give the Gospel. You may say, “I’m scared; I don’t know what to do.” Repent and trust God. These are amazing days, friends, be ready. During the pandemic, the Federal Reserve pumped trillions of dollars into the financial system and our politicians borrowed and spent trillions of dollars that we did not have. All of that money caused quite a bit of inflation, but it also created a “sugar rush” for the economy. In other words, economic conditions were substantially better than they would have been otherwise. Unfortunately, there will be a great price to be paid for such short-term thinking. From the federal government on down, our entire society is absolutely drowning in debt, and now it appears that our economic problems are about to go to the next level. In early 2024, there are all sorts of signs that economic activity in the U.S. is really starting to slow down. For example, we just learned that consumer spending “fell sharply” during the month of January… Consumer spending fell sharply in January, presenting a potential early danger sign for the economy, the Commerce Department reported Thursday. Advance retail sales declined 0.8% for the month following a downwardly revised 0.4% gain in December, according to the Census Bureau. A decrease had been expected: Economists surveyed by Dow Jones were looking for a drop of 0.3%, in part to make up for seasonal distortions that probably boosted December’s number. However, the pullback was considerably more than anticipated. Even excluding autos, sales dropped 0.6%, well below the estimate for a 0.2% gain. Sadly, the truth is that U.S. consumers just don’t have as much money to spend these days. They are up to their eyeballs in debt, and delinquency rates have been spiking. Many consumers are tightening up on their finances, and so it shouldn’t be a surprise that Disney+ lost more than a million subscribers during the fourth quarter of last year… Disney+ Core subscribers (which include U.S. and Canada customers, as well as international users, excluding the India-based Disney+ Hotstar) dropped to 111.3 million from the 112.6 million reported in the previous quarter, according to Disney’s quarterly earnings results released Wednesday. Pixar: 1,300 employees During the pandemic we witnessed a lot of temporary layoffs, but the last time we saw large corporations conducting permanent mass layoffs on such a widespread basis was in 2008 and 2009. And we all remember what happened back then. Meanwhile, the cost of living continues to rise faster than paychecks. For example, it is being reported that the cost of auto insurance has been increasing at “the fastest annual rate on record”… The cost of auto insurance jumped 1.4% in January, bringing the total annual gain to 20.6% – the fastest annual rate on record. When compared with early 2019, motor vehicle insurance is nearly 40% more expensive. Experts say the problem could soon get worse before it begins to improve. Needless to say, most Americans have not seen their paychecks increase by 20.6 percent over the past year. Of course just about everything else has been rapidly getting more expensive too, and that isn’t going to change any time soon. On top of everything else, we are also facing an unprecedented commercial real estate crisis. Our financial institutions are sitting on mountains of bad commercial real estate loans, and Kevin O’Leary is warning that “thousands more” will fail within the next three to five years… Regional banks are doomed. That’s not necessarily a bad thing… if you’re prepared for it. It’s been almost a year since Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) collapsed in March – the victim of idiotic management. But the sobering reality is the small banking crisis is far from over. In the next three to five years, thousands more regional institutions will fail. That’s why I don’t have a dime saved or invested in a single one. Is Kevin O’Leary right about this? I don’t know. We will just have to wait and see what happens. But without a doubt, things certainly do not look good at this moment. Needless to say, it isn’t just the U.S. that is experiencing economic turbulence these days. This week, we learned that the Japanese economy has officially entered a recession… Japan has lost its spot as the world’s third-largest economy to Germany, as the Asian giant unexpectedly slipped into recession. Once the second-largest economy in the world, Japan reported two consecutive quarters of contraction on Thursday — falling 0.4% on an annualized basis in the fourth quarter after a revised 3.3% contraction in the third quarter. Fourth-quarter GDP sharply missed forecasts for 1.4% growth in a Reuters poll of economists. The Germans are facing big problems too. In fact, Germany is being called the “sick man of Europe” right now. Interestingly, it is at this time that Jeff Bezos has decided to sell off billions of dollars worth of Amazon stock… Amazon’s billionaire founder Jeff Bezos has sold another $2bn worth of the company’s stock, bringing the total value of shares he has offloaded in the past week to $4bn, according to regulatory filings. An Amazon filing on Tuesday showed that Bezos, who stepped down as the Seattle-based company’s chief executive in 2021 but remains executive chair, sold 12mn shares for about $2bn between Friday and Monday. He certainly doesn’t need the cash. So why is he doing this? Does he know something that the rest of us do not? I don’t think so. Instead, I think that he can see what the rest of us can see. Stock prices have risen to record highs even as the overall economy is clearly heading into a major downturn. That makes this the perfect time to sell. Jeff Bezos didn’t get to where he is by being stupid. He can see what is coming and he is getting out while the getting is still good. Will 'Emergency' Scenario Usher in Digital Currency Upon America – Sarah Smith - https://www.prophecynewswatch.com/article.cfm?recent_news_id=6676 The director of the FBI recently went before Congress to warn that Chinese computer hackers are preparing to soon "wreak havoc and cause real-world damage" to our "water treatment plants, electric grid, and gas pipelines." Even if I assume that our FBI director is sharing his honest concerns, the actions of the current administration betray the opposite. Our Border Patrol reports over 5,000 encounters with Chinese nationals per month. Most of these encounters are with single military-aged men. And yet our Southern border has remained wide open. If you really care about the Chinese military directing cyberattacks against our infrastructure, then wouldn't you work hard to prevent thousands of potential Chinese military agents from coming over the U.S. border without any type of vetting or tracking? So, what is really motivating the Biden administration to invite potential Chinese terrorists into the country to "wreak havoc" and cause "real-world damage" to our nation's infrastructure? To understand that, we need to step back and take in a bigger picture of world events. The World Economic Forum is an international organization whose leadership includes royalty like the queen of Jordan and King Charles. It also includes financial leaders like the CEO of Black Rock, the president of the World Bank and the head of the Chinese Stock Exchange. Corporate "partners" include everything from Amazon to NBC to Zoom. The founder of the WEF takes great pride in having groomed many national leaders, like Justin Trudeau of Canada and Gavin Newsom of California. Clearly, we cannot ignore what the World Economic Forum is saying. In November 2020, the WEF and Carnegie Endowment for International Peace co-produced a report that warned that the global financial system was increasingly vulnerable to cyberattacks. That same report called for the merging of Wall Street banks, their regulators and intelligence agencies (like the CIA) as necessary to confront an allegedly imminent cyberattack that will collapse the existing financial system. This ominous report was published just months after the World Economic Forum had conducted a simulation of that very event - a cyberattack that brings the global financial system to its knees. The WEF has also advocated a central bank digital currency, or CBDC, eerily similar to the biblical Mark of the Beast system. They have promoted their "CBDC toolkit" to policymakers. China already has a CBDC that is tied to a person's social credit score, where a person can have his money turned "off" or "on" according that person's score. If they have the wrong political views, or even visited with someone that does (tracked through phone), then the money in their digital wallet might be reduced or its uses restricted. If you wanted to restrict people to traveling only 5 miles from home, then you could program CBDC to turn off when people tried to purchase anything 6 miles from home. CBDC technology allows for endless forms of social control. The Minneapolis Federal Reserve Bank president, Neel Kashkari, has raised substantial objections to CBDC. He stated: "I can see why (totalitarian) China likes CBDC. If you want to monitor every transaction, impose negative interest rates, or want to tax bank accounts directly, you can do that with a CBDC". Since we know that the WEF wants every nation to adopt a CBDC, it does not seem far-fetched to hypothesize that WEF officials have a strong incentive to actually want cyberattacks to happen globally. What evidence can we see that this is about to happen? The president of Ukraine recently signed a CBDC into law. Many other nations are making progress toward CBDC implementation. And that includes the United States: President Biden recently signed an executive order to speed up U.S. development of a CBDC. But Americans are not battle weary like Ukrainians nor are they compliant like Chinese under a communist dictatorship. Therefore, some type of emergency must be created in order to stampede Americans into docile acceptance of CBDC. Usher in new lockdowns? Spread a lethal Ebola variant? Foment a civil war? Create a global oil crisis with a hot war in the Persian Gulf? Are elements within our intelligence agencies, working on behalf of the world's largest banks and WEF, helping China to engineer a series of cyberattacks on the United States in order to "create havoc" in order to implement a new financial system? David Webb says, "Yes, it is very clear that this was a CIA project." It would not be the first time our government took extreme measures in order to implement a new financial system. On April 5, 1933, President Franklin Roosevelt issued an executive order that required Americans to turn in their gold coins, bullion and gold certificates to a Federal Reserve Bank under penalty of imprisonment and a $10,000 fine. Recall that at that time, gold was money, in the form of gold coins or as banknotes that could be exchanged for gold. Almost all the banks were then forced to close by the government, and only a few large banks were allowed to reopen. Suddenly, no one had any money. The pretext offered was that in difficult times too many Americans were "hoarding their gold." It was a false pretext. The Federal Reserve gathered all the gold and then hoarded it itself, and still kept the new unbacked (by gold) paper money supply tight for another three years. No one had any money. Even wealthy families did not have any money. People with children in private schools found that they had to take their kids out of school in order to put food on the table. This time it will be different. Where once gold backed up our financial system and most people were debt-free, today securities like stocks, bonds and house mortgages are the underlying collateral of the current financial system, and the majority of us are in debt. David Webb, a former hedge fund manager who ran in the same circles as George Soros, writes in his new book (and film by the same name), "The Great Taking," that the largest banks that sit on the Federal Reserve's New York governing board will obtain your assets as part of the new financial reset that transfers everyone over to a CBDC system. We will be told that we need to save these "too big to fail," systemically vital institutions so we can restart the economy again. These large banks (JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, Citibank and Bank of America) have been deemed by the courts as being part of a "protected class." Every state UCC law (Uniform Commercial Code), has been rigged so that your stocks, bonds and money in the bank are no longer your property and will become theirs legally during the next financial crisis. (According to David Webb, "It is very clear that this was a CIA project.") It will happen fast, electronically and without the possibility of legal redress in court. You suffer the illusion of asset ownership because you get use of the property. You can collect fees on a stock, or even transfer your stock to another broker for management. But, unlike the days when people were given paper stock certificates and stocks were true property, today you only have what is called "beneficial ownership." The actual owner of the stock is the brokerage. That means that if your brokerage goes bankrupt in a crisis, your assets will be used to pay off their creditors. It's similar to your bank. When you place your funds in a bank, the bank becomes the owner of your deposits. That means that when a bank fails, your bank deposits are used to pay the bank's creditors first. FDIC insurance is supposed to cover this gap, but provides protection only if a few banks fail at one time. If even 5% of banks failed at the same time, the FDIC would not have enough funds to cover the losses. It is worse with stocks and bonds, whether in your retirement fund or bought through a broker directly. We saw this in 2008 when the brokerage firm Lehman Brothers went bankrupt. When Lehman's customers first heard that Lehman had failed, they sought to transfer their deposits to another brokerage company. But the law had changed, and these assets were used to satisfy Lehman's largest creditor in bankruptcy - JP Morgan. The depositors were furious and went to court, but the judge ruled that they were unsecured creditors while JP Morgan was both the primary secured creditor and had "protected class status" because it was a "too-big-to-fail" bank. Your pension, 401K and any other securities are the collateral underpinning the derivatives market. The derivatives market is the largest market on the planet, representing trillions of bets with a value over a hundred times bigger than the underlying collateral (everyone's securities) - and there is no FDIC-like insurance. On each side of a derivative bet there is a winner and loser. The "too-big-to-fail" banks are all counter-parties on a massive number of derivatives bets. Since the derivatives complex is many times bigger than the underlying collateral of securities, when things go south there will be a mad scramble to get at the underlying real wealth: the securities that represent the sweat and equity of real people. The derivatives complex is like a house of cards, and its dangers have been known for decades. Warren Buffett wrote in 2002 that they were "financial weapons of mass destruction." James Rickards wrote in U.S. News & World Report in 2012 that they should be banned. A cyberattack disabling the electrical grid and financial system could certainly take down the derivatives complex and the entire financial system with it. A U.S. civil war could set it off, as could another 9/11 attack, a major oil embargo, or a more lethal form of Chinese COVID. The resulting chaos will provide the excuse to reset the financial system and usher in CBDC. People will be distracted by the chaos, and fail to recognize that the chaos was in fact manufactured. It is all like a game of Monopoly. We are at the end of the game, and all the pieces (including your pension and house and savings) will get pulled back into the bank. The bank then restarts the game. Except this time, CBDC will be the money. It will be very hard to refuse. People will be desperate, frightened and hungry. People will literally need the CBDC to eat. CBDC will come to the rescue! You can download an app on your phone so that you can download some CBDC currency to buy milk. Except it will not be real money. You will be borrowing money from the largest banks that issue the CBDC. Now they have you. If we do nothing, then the WEF motto, that "you will own nothing" by 2030 will come true. In 1 John 2:18, he is called the Antichrist. Many typically think the Antichrist is somebody who’s against Jesus. But the prefix anti- can just as easily mean instead of. It seems from Scripture that this Antichrist will pose as a substitute Christ—and it’s quite possible he is alive at this moment. Now, I’d much rather talk about Jesus Christ than the Antichrist. But in studying this person, it just makes Jesus even more wonderful. Here’s a quick comparison between the two: the Antichrist is called “the man of sin” (2 Thessalonians 2:3), whereas Jesus is the sinless man. In the Old Testament, the Antichrist is called “the idol shepherd” (Zechariah 11:17, KJV); in John 10, Jesus called Himself “the good shepherd” (v. 11). The Antichrist is depicted in Revelation 13:1 as a beast. And throughout the book, Jesus is referred to as the Lamb. Do you want to follow a beast, or do you want to follow the Lamb? The Antichrist’s supposed death (see Revelation 13:3) will be meant to deceive people; Jesus Christ’s death was to save people. Vastly different. And here’s a haunting verse about the Antichrist: “All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world” (Revelation 13:8). Listen, it’s going to be so compelling for the world to worship the Antichrist. The Bible says, “God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie” (2 Thessalonians 2:11). If you are reading this as an unbeliever and you’re thinking you’ll avoid the tribulation by buying gold and guns and living out in the wild rather than accepting Christ, remember that verse says, “All…will worship him whose names have not been written in the Book of Life” (Revelation 13:8). But Christ offers to write your name in that Book. He told believers, “When these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near” (Luke 21:28). And that thought continues in verse 36, “Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things.” That escape is what we call the rapture. Is your name written in the Book of Life? I don’t want my name in lights; I want it in the Lamb’s Book of Life. And if yours is not there, or if you’re not sure, be sure today. Make the decision to follow Christ. Don’t wait another day or another week. Say yes to Jesus now. With recent world events, we can see how things can quickly turn so people feel there’s no way out. They are perplexed and confused. They need an answer so much that they would be ready to believe any government, official, or anyone who could promise and produce a level of anxiety-free, peaceful living. So, we need to ready our hearts not only for what is coming, but especially for what will come to everyone unless Jesus comes back for us soon: death. The Word says, “If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9). If you have not made that commitment yet or if you’ve wandered away from intimacy and closeness with God, remember that He seeks to satisfy the deepest needs of every longing heart. The dryer was about twice as powerful as it normally was, and I really liked that. But then I looked in the mirror and saw flames coming out of the dryer. It literally melted. Nowadays, we can buy appliances that have dual voltage settings—we can switch them to safely accept either 110 or 220 volts. But back then, without the use of a converter, there was too much power for my hair dryer. Sometimes, we wonder whether we have enough power to satisfy the demands in our lives. If you’re a Christian, then you have more power than you ever will need. It’s like wondering whether you have enough power to turn on your lights when you have an entire nuclear plant exclusively powering your home. In the same way, we can be confident that God will provide all the power that we’ll ever need. Writing to the Christians in Ephesus, Paul said, “I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called—his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance” (Ephesians 1:18 NLT). Paul went on to say, “I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms” (verses 19–20 NLT). He was saying, “I want you to check your balance. I want you to realize how much power is available to you.” The same power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead is certainly adequate to help us deal with the challenges, trials, temptations, and opportunities that we are going to encounter in life. Just as the cross was a display of God’s love, the resurrection of Jesus Christ was a display of His power for us. All the power necessary is available to us to live the Christian life. What we need to do is simply plug in. Maybe you’ve thought, “It is so much easier to just go with the flow. I might as well do what everybody else does.” No, you can go a different direction. It takes a live fish to go upstream. If you’ve ever watched salmon swim upstream, then you know these persistent fish swim with all their effort. Not all of them make it, but some do. Living the Christian life takes determination and, more importantly, yielding to the power that is available to you. You can make it if you want to. You can be more than a conqueror because of what Jesus Christ has done for you. The question is this: Are you going to plug into God’s power and apply yourself? It takes commitment on a daily basis. And the moment you begin to relax, the moment you stop seeking to move forward spiritually, will be the moment your downward trend begins.
