As of Feb. 8, 2024, nations that are currently involved in a conflict have 45 days to respond. If they fail to satisfactorily respond, the transfer of defense articles and services will be paused until they do. If credible violations of international humanitarian and human rights laws are found, defense articles or services could be suspended. Biden appears to be trying to threaten Israel (or should I say protect Hamas), but God is on Israel’s side, and no weapon formed against Israel will succeed. [email protected] The Heavy Price for Rejoicing Over Israel’s Suffering – By Dean Dwyer - https://harbingersdaily.com/the-heavy-price-for-rejoicing-over-israels-suffering/ It has now been a little over four months since demonically inspired terrorists infiltrated southern Israel and carried out their unspeakable acts against the Jews. Men, women, children and even dogs were subjected to vile and wicked actions, much of which will not soon be forgotten by those who bore witness to their crimes. If that wasn’t enough to break the hearts of Jewish people who had lived alongside, worked alongside, and personally advocated for the residents of Gaza, the footage after the event would have. Whereas most people were sickened and horrified by the barbarity shown by Hamas, many in Gaza cheered. In our mind, it is difficult to understand why people would celebrate this. Yet, it isn’t the first time that a neighbor of Israel’s has cheered over their calamity. What’s worse, the people I am referring to were even closer than a neighbor. Ezekiel 35:15 reveals who I speak of (with emphasis added): “As you rejoiced because the inheritance of the house of Israel was desolate, so I will do to you; you shall be desolate, O Mount Seir, as well as all of Edom – all of it!” The Edomites traced their lineage to Esau. If you recall the Genesis account, Jacob and Esau are the offspring of Isaac and Rebekah and Genesis 36 very clearly tells us not only where Esau settled but the fact that Esau is synonymous with Edom. Verses 6 to 8 of Genesis 36 read: “Then Esau took his wives, his sons, his daughters, and all the persons of his household, his cattle and all his animals, and all his goods which he had gained in the land of Canaan, and went to a country away from the presence of his brother Jacob. For their possessions were too great for them to dwell together, and the land where they were strangers could not support them because of their livestock. So Esau dwelt in Mount Seir. Esau is Edom.” On a modern map, the area occupied by the Edomites was south of the Dead Sea – half of which would have been located in southern Israel and half in Jordan. Edom was not known as a great nation. In fact, Jeremiah 49:15 says this about the Edomites: For indeed, I will make you small among nations, despised among men. Perhaps being despised by the nations did not trouble this group of people who found solace in their prosperity and security. However, they were about to discover they had a much bigger problem – the judgment of God. The book of Obadiah (which contains only one chapter of 21 verses) explains the reason for this judgment in verses 3 and 4: “The pride of thine heart hath deceived thee, thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation is high; that saith in his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground? Though thou exalt thyself as the eagle, and though thou set thy nest among the stars, thence will I bring thee down, saith the Lord.” Because of their proximity along a major trade route and their impregnable rock fortress, the Edomites had what others desired – prosperity and security. But they also had something else no nation should desire – a burning hatred for the Jews. During the Lord’s pronouncement of judgment on Edom, we read these verses (emphasis added): “For thy violence against thy brother Jacob shame shall cover thee, and thou shalt be cut off for ever. In the day that thou stoodest on the other side, in the day that the strangers carried away captive his forces, and foreigners entered into his gates, and cast lots upon Jerusalem, even thou wast as one of them. But thou shouldest not have looked on the day of thy brother in the day that he became a stranger; neither shouldest thou have rejoiced over the children of Judah in the day of their destruction; neither shouldest thou have spoken proudly in the day of distress. Thou shouldest not have entered into the gate of my people in the day of their calamity; yea, thou shouldest not have looked on their affliction in the day of their calamity, nor have laid hands on their substance in the day of their calamity; Neither shouldest thou have stood in the crossway, to cut off those of his that did escape; neither shouldest thou have delivered up those of his that did remain in the day of distress.” As I read that passage, I cannot help but note certain similarities to the situation Israel faced on October 7, 2023: 1. In the invasion that Obadiah had in view, Edom was not confederated with Judah’s enemies but they stood by and watched on, perhaps even going so far as to aid the enemy’s attack. In short, the Edomites behaved like an enemy instead of a neighbour and brother. It is not dissimilar to how many Arab nations treat Israel today, particularly those who have fragile peace agreements with them. They could very capably assist Israel but they stand by. Some do nothing and others provide financial, tactical and logistical support to Israel’s enemies. 2. In the case of Edom, they rejoiced over Judah’s suffering. For the Jews, it was a day of destruction and distress. For Edom, it was a day of delight and rejoicing. 3. The Edomites entered Jerusalem for the purposes of violating the people and stealing their wealth. It is a different era, different cities and different persecutors but we are all familiar with exactly what Hamas stole on October 7, 2023. They stole the innocence of young women, they stole people from their homes and from their families and they stole lives. The Jewish people highly value family and Hamas cruelly plundered them and gloated over them. 4. The Edomites cut off the escape routes making flight from persecution impossible. In doing so, they seized those trying to flee and delivered them into the hands of Judah’s enemies. I am sure most have seen the footage of the massacre at the music festival in southern Israel. Hamas terrorists blocked escape routes, shot people, raped women and burnt others in their vehicles. But even though the Edomites rejoiced, they would soon face ruin, as will all other wicked nations when God’s wrath falls upon the world during the Tribulation Period. Obadiah 15 and 16: “For the day of the Lord is near upon all the heathen: as thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee: thy reward shall return upon thine own head. For as ye have drunk upon my holy mountain, so shall all the heathen drink continually, yea, they shall drink, and they shall swallow down, and they shall be as though they had not been.” Wicked nations may have drunk from a cup of celebration on October 7, 2023, but they will one day drink from another cup – the cup containing the undiluted wrath of God, which He will hand them because of their rejection of Christ and their treatment of His people. Psalm 75:8 says: “For in the hand of the Lord there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same: but the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them.” On that day, rejoicing will give way to ruin! Day spoke as an insider and even expressed fear that he would be in danger for telling the secrets he divulged. He talked about fear created by pandemics and about how the education system and the school-based clinics would begin the transformation of America’s parent-child relationships. Traditional marriage would, by design, become less important in sexual relationships and be transformed into perverse versions of unions between people, such as same-sex marriages. Gender change and other forced movement away from God’s Order would be key to the transformation of America, which, of course, Barack Obama would later verbalize as his desire upon taking office as president. Richard Day talked about how sex would be relegated to pleasurable pursuits and be diverted from family relationships and having children –thus to institute population control. Abortion would become big business with the establishment of Planned Parenthood, and the law would be changed to legalize greater freedom in “choice.” The populations would thusly be reduced before it could even get started. Homosexuality would take on increased influence within the thinking of the powers that be, a matter also aimed at breaking up traditional religious traditions and to tear down conventional families. Again, all this to control population. He went much deeper into many of the wicked things that now have come or are coming to fruition. There is no doubt to this writer at least that Satan is indeed Rapture Ready, in the worst possible sense. I very much recommend reading the article in its entirety to get the full meaning of the complete madness going on all around us at this moment. But it is one Glorious Moment in particular that the believer in Christ can anticipate in the near future. The Rapture! In fact, there are several existential threats that we are facing right now which could potentially result in millions of dead Americans. I wish that I was exaggerating but I am not. Throughout human history, great pestilences have killed millions of people many times. Today, our scientists are taking some of the deadliest diseases ever known to humanity and are purposely trying to make them “more infectious”. Here is just one example… The US government is spending $1million of American taxpayer money to fund experiments on dangerous bird flu viruses in collaboration with Chinese scientists. The research involves infecting ducks and geese with different strains of viruses to make them more infectious, and study the viruses’ potential to ‘jump into mammalian hosts,’ according to research documents. It is being funded through the US Department of Agriculture and collaborating studies will take place at sites in Georgia, Beijing and Edinburgh in Scotland. Are they insane? According to the CDC, bird flu has a death rate of more than 50 percent in humans. And these researchers want to make it “more infectious”? As I have repeatedly warned my readers over the years, this type of research really is an existential threat to humanity. It is way too easy for an accident to happen, and once a dangerous bug gets out it can spread around the globe in the blink of an eye. And the head of the WHO is warning that the timing of the next great global outbreak is “a matter of when, not if”… The World Health Organization (W.H.O.) made yet another warning of an impending “Disease X” outbreak, with Director-General Tedros Ghebreyesus telling world leaders it is “a matter of when, not if.” At the World Government Summit, held in Dubai from February 12-14, Ghebreyesus told attendees his previous predictions came to fruition in the form of the 2020 coronavirus pandemic. Now, the W.H.O. director believes a new pandemic, for which the international community is ill-prepared, is on the horizon. Renewing urgent calls for a global pandemic treaty to be agreed upon by May, Ghebreyesus dismissed suspicions of the treaty being a W.H.O. power-grab and called it “mission critical for humanity.” Of course strange diseases are already making headlines all over the globe. Here in the U.S., we witnessed the first ever death from “Alaskapox” in late January… An unidentified immunocompromised man died from “Alaskapox” in late January. He lived in the woods of the Kenai Peninsula by himself, and it’s unclear how he contracted the virus. Alaskapox – from the same genus as smallpox and monkeypox – was first discovered in 2015 in Fairbanks and is more common in small mammals. This is the seventh human case overall, the first outside the Fairbanks area, and the first to lead to death. And it is being reported that there is a confirmed case of the bubonic plague in Oregon… The first case of the bubonic plague found in eight years in one US state has been found – and is said to have come from a cat. Oregon health officer Richard Fawcett told NBC News that the patient who caught the disease from her pet, became “very sick”. Usually, this kind of infection starts with flu-like symptoms, such as tiredness, fever, chills, and a headache. But in Oregon, the infection had advanced to a draining abscess, called a “bubo”, which is unusual these days. Let me switch gears and talk about another existential threat. According to 60 Minutes, the number of migrants from China that are crossing our southern border has gotten 50 times higher over the past couple of years, and a very large proportion of them are “Chinese males of military age”… War correspondent Michael Yon and the Rubin brothers of Muckraker.com have documented the presence of dangerous-looking elements — from China, Iran, Syria and Venezuela — among the hordes of migrants traveling up from Central America. Yon and the Rubins have noticed, among other things, that Chinese males of military age are traveling in packs of five to fifteen, are unaccompanied by family members, and are pretending not to speak English. Some of them, on their way to America, have performed Chinese military rituals. The Chinese know that once they invade Taiwan there will be war with the United States. Have they been preparing for such a conflict in advance? Retired Air Force General Blaine Holt believes that is precisely what is happening… “Tens of thousands of military-age men have come across our border and are now in America, organized by group and nationality” Holt told Gatestone this month. “Among them are terrorist and state actors, in particular, members of the People’s Liberation Army of China. As we speak, these actors are training, making plans and obtaining weapons, watching our patterns, and learning our vulnerabilities.” “We are vulnerable to attack,” Holt added. “Our enemies eagerly wait.” If a full-blown war with China erupts, vast numbers of Americans could potentially die. Of course the same thing could be said about a full-blown war with Russia. Dmitry Medvedev has warned us over and over again that the Russians will use nuclear weapons if they are pushed too far, and now he has issued perhaps his most ominous warning yet… Dmitry Medvedev – a close Putin ally who served as president from 2008 to 2012 – said if a military defeat led to a return to the 1991 frontiers, when the Soviet Union collapsed, Moscow would unleash Armageddon. ‘Attempts to return Russia to the borders of 1991 will lead to only one thing,’ he said. ‘Towards a global war with Western countries using the entire strategic arsenal of our state. In Kyiv, Berlin, London, Washington.’ Hypersonic nuclear missiles would also strike ‘all other beautiful historical places that have long been included in the flight targets of our nuclear triad’. He added: ‘Will we have the courage to do this if the disappearance of a thousand-year-old country, our great Motherland, is at stake, and the sacrifices made by the people of Russia over the centuries will be in vain? The answer is obvious.’ Why won’t our leaders take such threats seriously? If a nuclear war happens, most of the U.S. population will not survive. So perhaps we should see if there is any possible way to settle our differences with the Russians peacefully before someone crosses a line that will never be able to be uncrossed. But instead, our leaders have decided that now is a great time for the most extensive NATO military exercises since the Cold War… Aimed to prepare for a potential war with Russia, NATO’s Steadfast Defender exercises have become the alliance’s largest military drills since the Cold War, NATO’s Military Committee Chair, Admiral Rob Bauer, told the Financial Times. The experience gained during the Steadfast Defender exercises is expected to form the basis for NATO’s plans to deploy and reinforce forces in Europe in case of war. The exercises started on January 24 and will continue until the end of spring 2024. This story is not going to end well. But most of those in the general population do not understand anything that I have shared in this article. They are just going to keep playing around and partying until time finally runs out. Think about Molech’s priests convincing parents to place their babies in those arms — a burnt sacrifice to Satan. That sin finally triggered God’s great judgment of Israel. The people refused to stop this satanic sacrifice of children. So, God stopped it. Satan must really hate kids. Or maybe he attacks them so fiercely because of their vulnerability. They depend on adults to protect them. But too many of those adults whose job it is to shield children — primarily parents and educators — have chosen to lay them into the white-hot arms of Satan. People surrendered to Satan can rationalize every evil. Entry-level Satanists teach that neither God nor Satan exists. They worship Satan, though they might say they worship only the idea of Satan. They consider him the ultimate nonconformist rebel. But the devil doesn’t free people from conformity. He demands it. And he is the chief instigator of war, murder, rape, envy, bullying, and thousands of other things that bring misery to life. Satanists are now busy taking their worship of evil into the lives of elementary schoolchildren in the form of Satan Clubs. They advertise these clubs as fun, happy, educational, and full of hope. And the devil? Well, they present him as a great guy — an angel of light. One flier reused in several school districts reads, “Hey kids! Let’s have fun at after school Satan Club! Science & community service projects! Puzzles and games! Nature activities! Arts and crafts! Snacks! & tons of fun!” They seem to be trying to prove their high level of fun by using exclamation marks everywhere. The flier also features a bizarre cartoon version of the master of their religion. They depict Satan as a benign version of a silent-film-era movie villain, except with horns comically sprouting from his head. They assure us that the Satan of their religion is not to be taken seriously. The flier says, “The Satanic Temple is a non-theistic religion that views Satan as a literary figure who represents a metaphorical construct of rejecting tyranny and championing the human mind and spirit.” The Satan of literature leads to dark territory indeed. The bestselling book in which this “literary figure” shows up is the Bible. And in the Bible, he is anything but a champion of “the human mind and spirit.” Look at the devil elsewhere in literature. He’s shown as the instigator of evil in its darkest forms — as the ultimate hater of humans and of God. As a “literary figure,” the devil stands against all that is good. Yet the flier says, “Parents, your child will learn benevolence & empathy, critical thinking, problem solving, creative expression, personal sovereignty, compassion.” Imagine thinking that kids can learn benevolence, empathy, and compassion from Satan. They also say kids will learn “critical thinking” from people so confused that they think that the Satan of literature represents a champion of the human spirit. Pray for our children. This is one small part of the onslaught against them. Also pray for their teachers at school, at church, in the home, and elsewhere. Pray, too, for the satanically deluded purveyors of darkness. You came back from the mall with a new purchase, and you wondered why you bought it. So, you mentally retraced your steps. How did it all start? Maybe you went to the mall to pass some time. You were walking along and saw a nice window display, and there was something about it that got your attention. Then you walked into the store, and you browsed your way right over to something. Eventually, you decided to buy it. And when you got home, you thought, “How did I end up with this?” It started because you were browsing. You were walking along without any aim or purpose. And the next thing you knew, you bought something that you didn’t need. That is the picture the apostle Paul used in Ephesians when he wrote, “All of us used to live that way, following the passionate desires and inclinations of our sinful nature. By our very nature we were subject to God’s anger, just like everyone else” (Ephesians 2:3 NLT). We were just browsing our way through the world, doing what everyone else did and parroting what everyone else said. We were acting like everyone else. That was the way we used to live before we committed our lives to Jesus Christ. In fact, we thought we were in control of our lives, but it is clear that we were being blown about like a weather vane as Satan manipulated our lives. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians, “Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God” (4:4 NLT). And 1 John 5:19 tells us, “We know that we are children of God and that the world around us is under the control of the evil one” (NLT). This mentality, this realm, this wavelength that people are on is energized by Satan, the god of this world. That is a bleak scenario. However, we come to these great words in Ephesians 2:4–5: “But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)” (NLT). But God. We were in a bad place, doing bad things and going the wrong way. But God. Underline those words in your Bible. If you want to do a fascinating word study, follow that phrase throughout Scripture. Against a dark background with all the things that were going wrong in our lives, God, who “is so rich in mercy, . . . gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead.” This is what God has done for every believer. This is what God has done for you.
