Short-Lived Support?: The Time Will Come When World Opinion Will Once Again Turn Against Israel – By Amir Tsarfati - https://harbingersdaily.com/short-lived-support-the-time-will-come-when-the-world-opinion-will-once-again-turn-against-israel/
(Galilee, Israel) — Shalom from a land where there is no shalom. Our shalom (peace) was taken from us on October 7, when a terrorist army flooded over our border from Gaza and began indiscriminately murdering Israelis. You have heard the stories, and I have no wish to repeat them once again. Just know that in its sheer brutality, it surpassed the atrocities of the Holocaust. For the past week-and-a-half, I have been immersed in the details of the barbarism that was intentionally carried out by that evil horde, and each day I continue to find myself repeatedly stunned and heartbroken by some new story of the gruesome suffering of the innocents. It is appalling. It is unforgivable. And it must be avenged. Thus far, Israel has been overwhelmed at the level of support from around the world. Offers of tangible help have come in from Asia, Europe, Africa, and South America. The United Kingdom and Germany have been particularly strong in their encouragement. But the greatest friend by far to Israel over these past days has been the United States. Without the deterrence power of the U.S. military, it is very likely that we would already have a full-blown war raging in the north with Hezbollah in Lebanon. It is also probable that the Iranian-backed militias based in Iraq and Syria would have come across the Syrian border into Israel. But as soon as the USS Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group sailed into the eastern Mediterranean, those terrorist plans were stalled. Weapons have been supplied to Israel from the U.S. Our Iron Dome anti-missile system has been replenished. And for the first time in history, a U.S. President came to Israel during wartime to consult with our Prime Minister and to give assurances of America’s steadfast friendship. I disagree with most of the policies of the current U.S. administration, and I strongly oppose the President’s support of a two-state solution. There is no possibility of that happening, especially not now. Still, there is much positive that America has done over this past week-and-a-half. We have seen throughout history God using unexpected sources to bless Israel. This is one of those times. While we have appreciated the support and encouragement of so many countries around the world, we recognize that it is destined to be short-lived. Even as governments and media are forced to say kind words to Israel because of the incredibly heinous nature of Hamas’s crimes, they will readily jump at the opportunity to turn the situation around so that Israel is once again in the default position of “evil perpetrator”. This was evident Tuesday when reports rapidly circulated that Israel had purposely bombed the Al-Maamadani hospital in Gaza. The Palestinian Ministry of Health cried out that well over 1000 people were dead with hundreds more wounded as a result of this barbarous acted carried out by the IDF. Soon, the report had spread around the world. Protests were incited in city after city in Europe. The Israeli embassies in Ankara, Turkey, and Amman, Jordan, were attacked by mobs. From the beginning, the IDF said, “We didn’t do this!” But no one believed them, because so many nations in the world default to “Jews are evil”, although they would never admit it. By the way, if you doubt me, look up how many resolutions the United Nations has passed against Israel, then compare that number to any other country – Russia, Iran, North Korea. Actually, let me save you the trouble. Since 2015, the UN has passed 140 resolutions against Israel compared to 68 for the rest of the world combined. Are your eyes now open to the blatant anti-Israel bias of the UN, and of the rest of the world? We were frustrated but not surprised when the media and so many countries immediately condemned Israel without checking on facts. We fully expected them to take the word of the terrorist organization that had just brutally slaughtered more than 1300 people over the word of the victims of that butchery. But, even after incontrovertible proof was given that it was a failed Islamic Jihad rocket that caused the explosion and that the number of victims had been hugely exaggerated, media outlets continued to spread the false narrative. Am I right, New York Times? Finally, governments began to accept the truth. The US, Germany, and other western nations said the tragedy at the hospital was not Israel’s doing. Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and the UAE agreed. Even Vladimir Putin, by no means our friend, kept silent on whom he thought was to blame when he spoke of the event. But we know that the time will come when the world opinion will once again turn against us. Whether it is due to another false flag from Hamas or Hezbollah, or a military mistake like what inevitably happens during wartime, Israel will once again be vilified. It is then we will see who our true friends are, and which nations are coming alongside us simply because it would be seen as heartless not to do so due to the heinous nature of the October 7 attack. As of now, we have a three-front war. The fighting is strong to the south in Gaza where the IDF is very busy ensuring that the terror groups Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad are eradicated. The real war hasn’t started yet up in the north where there is a steady exchange of fire between Hezbollah in Lebanon and Israel’s military. It is just beginning in Syria, where Iranian-backed terrorist militias are prepared to attack if and when they are given the go-ahead from their Persian Islamist masters. It is likely that the ground maneuvers in Gaza will cause the north to increase the intensity of its attacks. These areas have been preparing for war with Israel for months. They are ready for action and are angry that Hamas has messed up the plan. Here is why I say that Hamas blew Iran’s war strategy. Back in April I wrote about how Iran was planning a major attack on Israel using its terrorist proxies. I quoted from this article regarding a “Doomsday Scenario”, which is a fascinating read if you can get your browser to translate it from Hebrew. I was one of the few who saw the merit in this very real possibility and echoed it in my posts. Remember, in the Iranian Islamist mind, they don’t get their elite Persian hands dirty. They save that for their Arab underlings. The plan was to begin an attack on Israel from both the north and south using thousands of rockets. Once the Iron Dome was depleted and the rockets were falling on Israel, a joint ground attack would be made in the south by Hamas from Gaza and Hezbollah and other militias in the north from Lebanon and Syria. They would blow holes in the border fences and invade using motorcycles, trucks, ATVs, and other vehicles. It would take time for Israel to call up its reserves, and in that gap the terrorist packs would be able to wreak havoc on the Israeli population. It was a horribly brilliant plan. What it didn’t account for was the attention-seeking nature of the Hamas leadership. They wanted the glory for themselves. So, they jumped the gun and launched their invasion on October 7. That is why there was no joint action from the north. Hezbollah and the others were shocked by what was taking place to the south – not by the violence, but by the timing. If you are looking for God in all of this, it is here that you can see His hand. The Iranian plot was foiled. If this had been a simultaneous two-front attack, the Israeli casualties would have been so much higher. I am not downplaying any death that occurred that terrible day. I am just saying that it could have been a lot worse. And that ties in with another way to see God’s hand during the attack. With the number of terrorists who poured over the southern border and the number of weapons they had, the Israeli dead should have been closer to 10,000. But the restraining hand of God limited what this Satanic horde was able to pull off. This war is far from over, and the battlefields are expanding beyond our borders. Pro-Hamas marches have been seen in many cities in the Middle East, Europe, and America. In places, those protests have become violent, and that violence will only increase. Yesterday, in France, eight airports had to be evacuated for security reasons. In Ankara and Amman, violent mobs once again tried to storm Israeli embassies. The Iranian regime and the Hezbollah leadership are regularly issuing threats against America and Israel. This is a time for the church to pray. I don’t fear the destruction of Israel. I’ve read my Bible. I know how this story ends. Also, I know who my God is. I know that “He who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep” (Psalm 121:4). He has brought Israel back to this land, and here we will remain. But I also know that Israel’s “soul has dwelt too long with one who hates peace. [We are] for peace; but when [we] speak, they are for war” (Psalm 120:6-7). So, pray for wisdom for our leaders. Pray that the demonic plans of Satan’s forces are thwarted. Pray that shalom returns once again to the land of Israel. Here We Go – The IDF Is Given The “Green Light” As U.S. Forces In The Middle East Come Under Fire - by Michael Snyder - http://endoftheamericandream.com/here-we-go-the-idf-is-given-the-green-light-as-u-s-forces-in-the-middle-east-come-under-fire/ Right now, we are all witnessing some of the most pivotal moments in all of human history. For a long time, I warned my readers that a great war would be coming to the Middle East. In fact, I specifically warned that it would be one of “the 3 wars of the apocalypse”. I didn’t expect the Great Middle East War to arrive quite so quickly, but here we are. Once thousands of missiles start flying back and forth, none of our lives will ever be the same again. We are literally watching an apocalyptic scenario play out right in front of our eyes, and it is all going to begin once Israeli forces move into Gaza. That could happen very soon, because Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant just told Israeli troops that they will be seeing Gaza “from the inside” very shortly… An Israeli minister has told troops massing at the border that they will soon see Gaza ‘from the inside’ sparking fears a ground invasion is imminent. Yoav Gallant, who is the country’s defense minister, told Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) soldiers to ‘get organized, be ready’ to move into the Palestinian territory as he vowed there would be ‘no forgiveness’ for Hamas, only it’s ‘total annihilation’. And another cabinet minister has told ABC News that the IDF has been given the “green light” for an invasion… It came the same day that the country’s Economy Minister, Nir Barakat, told ABC News the military had the ‘green light’ to invade. The cabinet minister added that the miles of tunnels built by Hamas under the territory would become the ‘world’s biggest cemetery’. ‘We shall do all efforts to bring our hostages, to bring our hostages [back] alive…’ he said, but the ‘first and last priority’ is destroying Hamas. So here we go. This is it. On Thursday, the IDF continued their version of “shock and awe” in preparation for the coming ground operation… Israel continued its airstrikes on the Gaza Strip early Thursday, as it prepares troops and lays the groundwork for a possible invasion of the enclave. For nearly two weeks, Israel has been readying for a possible invasion of Gaza by carrying out thousands of airstrikes on the enclave, targeting Hamas’s leaders, its special forces and strategic assets, including intelligence posts and an underground tunnel network, as it seeks to weaken the group before sending in the thousands of Israeli soldiers massed at the border. Once Israeli troops start moving in, the entire region is likely to erupt. And already we are starting to see some very disturbing signs. On Thursday, the USS Carney shot down three missiles that Iranian-backed Houthi terrorists in Yemen were apparently trying to fire at Israel… A US Navy warship operating in the Middle East intercepted multiple projectiles near the coast of Yemen on Thursday, two US officials told CNN. One of the officials said the missiles were fired by Iranian-backed Houthi militants, who are engaged in an ongoing conflict in Yemen. Approximately 2-3 missiles were intercepted, according to the second official. Later Thursday Pentagon press secretary Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder confirmed that the USS Carney shot down three land attack missiles as well as several drones that were launched by Iran-backed Houthi forces in Yemen. The Houthis weren’t supposed to get involved in this conflict. But it appears that Iran has given them permission to do so. Meanwhile, a base where U.S. troops are located in southern Syria was attacked by multiple drones… A military base in southern Syria where U.S. troops have maintained a presence to train forces as part of a broad campaign against the Islamic State group was attacked by drones on Thursday, two U.S. officials told The Associated Press. One drone was shot down, but another caused in minor injuries, said one of the officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss the matter before an official announcement about the incident. And a base where U.S. troops are located in western Iraq also came under attack… Drones and rockets targeted on Thursday evening the Ain al-Asad air base, which hosts US and other international forces in western Iraq, and multiple blasts were heard inside the base, two security sources said. The Iraqi military said it closed the area around the base and started a search operation. It was not clear yet whether the attacks caused casualties or damages, said the sources. In case you haven’t figured it out by now, America is going to be involved in this war. And that is going to cause our country to become even more polarized. There are millions of people inside the United States right now that love Hamas. And there are millions of people inside the United States right now that love Hezbollah. Once this war really gets going, a lot of those people are going to go completely nuts. We are about to reap the consequences of decades of very foolish immigration policies. Sadly, there is no way out now. The clock is ticking, and the Middle East will soon erupt in flames. At this point, the U.S. and British embassies in Beirut are both telling their citizens to get out of Lebanon while they still can… The US and British embassies in Beirut advise their citizens to leave Lebanon while flights “remain available” as border tensions between Israel and Hezbollah intensify. Both countries had already warned citizens against travel to Lebanon. “We recommend that US citizens in Lebanon make appropriate arrangements to leave the country; commercial options currently remain available,” a US embassy statement says. We knew that this was coming. Now it is here. But even at this late stage, most of the world still has no idea what is coming next… Prophecy Update Videos Must Watch Videos! Videos You Can Trust

The Book of Revelation, focusing on the last days before Messiah’s return, depicts a dragon about to slay a pregnant woman. “The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that he might devour her child the moment it was born.” (Rev 12:4) This speaks of Jesus, and of times of great distress for Israel, but also signifies that something spectacular is about to happen in terms of restoration, renewal and redemption. For when Satan attacks with the utmost fury, you know that God is about to rescue his people in a glorious way. When Pharaoh issued a decree to kill all the Hebrew babies because he feared the Israelites were getting too numerous, it was a sign that Adonai was about to work a mighty miracle through Moses. The infant was duly rescued from among the bulrushes of the Nile, and eventually led his people out of slavery towards the Promised Land. When Messiah was born, King Herod, because he felt threatened, ordered the slaughter of the infants at Bethlehem. But Yeshua’s parents had obeyed the angelic instruction to escape back to Egypt until the wicked tyrant was no more. As Simeon put it in his prayer of thanks to the Lord when Jesus was presented at the Temple, the infant Christ was “a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to your people Israel” (Luke 2:32). But due to national rejection, the Jewish people were exiled to the nations. Now fast-forward some 1,900 years to the time when the ancient prophecies of Jewish restoration began to be fulfilled as God’s chosen ones started returning to Zion. The dragon vented his fury as never before by filling the Nazis with wicked genocidal madness. The Holocaust was designed to sink all hopes of such restoration but, out of the ashes, Israel was re-born as a nation. Now another tyrant, in the form of terrorist group Hamas and their murderous co-conspirators, engages in shameless slaughter of innocent children, along with men, women and the elderly. A truly terrifying outrage, yet also a sure sign that God has a glorious plan in mind which the enemy is determined to prevent. A mighty spiritual awakening is on the horizon. The dry bones have come back to life, and the Spirit of the Lord is blowing afresh among all those who are turning their hearts to him. Be comforted, and do not lose heart, Israel! The Lord is with you; he is suffering with you and has suffered for you! He weeps for your children. As Jeremiah prophesied: “A voice is heard in Ramah, mourning and great weeping, Rachel weeping for her children and refusing to be comforted, because her children are no more.” (Jer 31:15) This word was fulfilled at Bethlehem and has been repeated in recent days. But Ezekiel’s dry bones prophecy (chapter 37 of that book) speaks of resurrection – not only of your great nation, but of a people returning to close fellowship with their one and only Saviour and Lord. Such a relationship is a greater hope than anything this world can offer. For “no eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him” (1 Corinthians 2:9, quoting Isaiah 64:4). God also spoke the following words through Jeremiah: “For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart…I will gather you from all the nations…and bring you back…” (Jer 29:11-14) Rabbi Jonathan Cahn writes of the egg-eating snake in similar terms to the dragon of Revelation. It strikes out to pre-empt the birth of new life; it attacks the young, the weak and the defenseless. So when all hell breaks loose around you, do not be discouraged. It’s a sign of the enemy’s determination to abort the purposes of God. But he won’t succeed. Heaven’s best is yet to come. More than a decade ago, I was coming under much pressure as I was writing my first book on Israel (Israel the Chosen, published in 2013 and available from Amazon) when God spoke to me as I was praying in a beautiful church near my office. A huge pulpit Bible was open at the very verse I quoted at the beginning of this article – the dragon about to pounce on a woman giving birth. Later that day I crashed my car and could easily have been wiped out, but God protected me. The man from the recovery service wondered how I had missed two telegraph poles as I careered off the road after clipping the back of a small truck. I was shaken, but without a scratch! My new calling to bless Israel was duly birthed. Israel is at the center of God’s purposes, which is why a great shaking is now taking place. But it’s a window of opportunity for god-fearing people around the world to stand with Israel. The Muslim world is collapsing from within. The mosques of Iran are fast emptying, but her people are finding solace in the Jewish Saviour. They too are praying for you. In sub-Saharan Africa, Muslims are having dreams of Jesus and have become his disciples at great risk, just as Palestinians in Gaza are also reaching out for Christ to rescue them from the tyrannical shackles of Hamas. I leave you with a challenge from an amazing American lady, Karen Wheaton, who shares her insights with thousands on YouTube. In a recent broadcast, she focuses on three words, “Who knows, perhaps…?” taken from Joel chapter 2 and the Book of Esther. Queen Esther’s guardian Mordecai asked her: “Who knows, perhaps, whether you have come to royal position for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14) Joel 2:14 asks a similar question in the context of God’s call for his people to repent and turn to him: “Who knows? He may turn and have pity and leave behind a blessing…” For us Gentiles, Karen challenged: “If you as a Church do nothing in this hour and remain comfortable in your palaces…our generation will pay the price.” It’s time to seek the Lord, and to bless his people Israel. Time is Running Out - Nathele Graham - [email protected] What is time? We are all subject to it, but nobody can see it or touch it. We see the effect that time has on everything…seasons change from Spring to Summer, over time babies mature into adults, and we see events of Biblical prophecy being fulfilled. Scripture contains many prophecies that have been fulfilled, but many are in the process of being fulfilled, and some will be fulfilled in the near future. How can God be so accurate when speaking to the prophets of old? As humans, we see the past, live in the present, and look forward to the future, but God is outside of time. He clearly sees the future because from His vantage point, the future has happened. Think of a movie that you’ve seen. You might watch it more than once and know every plot twist and character involved. If you watch it with someone who hasn’t seen it, you can tell them everything that will happen. Unlike the movie, God doesn’t have a scripted storyline to follow, but since He knows the end from the beginning, He’s able to trust men with some hints about our future. We call that prophecy. “Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure.” Isaiah 46:10. Prophecy is a very neglected study by most Christians. When it is studied, it’s often twisted in order to be understood by human minds. God tells us future things, so it can be difficult to interpret Biblical prophecy with our limited human knowledge. It’s hard for someone who only knows a bow and arrow as the most advanced weapon, to understand how Damascus can be destroyed in a day. “The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.” Isaiah 17:1. As time passes, it becomes clearer. We can be certain that God’s prophecies will always come about just as He says. The most amazing prophecies center upon Jesus. God gave many prophecies to Israel regarding their Messiah, and it’s hard to understand how they missed Him. Micah was one of the prophets of God who spoke of the Messiah. “But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.” Micah 5:2. This ruler in Israel was Jesus. He was born in the small town of Bethlehem, near Jerusalem, and will reign eternally when other prophecies are fulfilled regarding the end times. When the Magi went to see Herod before they visited Jesus, they asked where He had been born. Matthew records this visit. Herod called a meeting of the chief priests and scribes. “And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born. And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet, And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Isael.” Matthew 2:4-6. Matthew showed many ways in which Jesus had fulfilled prophecy. Matthew made the connection between Isaiah 7:14 and Jesus’ birth. “Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.” Isaiah 7:14. Matthew records the struggle that Joseph had when he realized his betrothed, Mary, was pregnant. He knew that he hadn’t had relations with her, but she was going to have a baby. An angel reassured him that she hadn’t been unfaithful. “But while he thought on these things, behold the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. And she shall bring forth a son and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. Now all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.” Matthew 1:20-23. There are many, many more prophecies regarding the life of Jesus, but there are just too many to cite them all here. Study prophecy and you’ll be amazed at how God wants us to know the future. Prophecy is a great witnessing tool. Study it and see that time is running out. The news today is filled with stories about wars and earthquakes and unrest within nations. Jesus said these would be signs of the times. Nearly 2,000 years ago, Jesus’ disciples wanted to know about the end times. “And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? And what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end o the world?” Matthew 24:3. The King James translation translates the Greek word “aion”, as “world” and most modern translations translate it “age”. They weren’t asking about the Rapture. Jesus went into detail about signs to look for, but each “sign” He gave was a sign of time moving towards the end. He said not to be deceived. There would be people who pose as Christ, but who aren’t, and there would be much unrest in the world. “And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.” Matthew 24:6. This is certainly being fulfilled. Israel’s just experienced the most heinous attack by Hamas, which was nothing less than Satan inspired evil. Babies were beheaded, elderly people were kidnapped, and many innocent lives were taken by a very brutal and inhumane group. This attack caused Israel to fight back, and many prophecy teachers believe that Psalm 83 may be fulfilled by this war, and some are watching to see if Isaiah 17 (the destruction of Damascus) will be fulfilled. God said these things will happen, so you can be sure that it will all be fulfilled. For the student of Bible prophecy, this is a very good witnessing tool. Peter understood the importance of prophecy. He told us about the attitude of many people. “Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers walking after their own lusts, and saying, Where is the promise of his coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.” 2 Peter 3:3-4. There are many scoffers today. People don’t hold God’s truth as authority and pastors are okay with that. Evolution has replaced the truth that God created all things. Too many people scoff at the truth that God created male and female, and gender is not your choice. God clearly told us that there is coming a time of tribulation such as never seen before. The horrors of what took place in Jerusalem on October 7, 2023, are just a shadow of what the Great Tribulation will be like. Peter was an eyewitness to many miracles of Jesus, but he felt prophecy was more certain. “We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts. Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” 2 Peter 1:19-21. Study prophecy and see what God tells us about the future. Prophecy is being fulfilled rapidly. Will the Rapture occur tomorrow, or will it happen a few years from now? We cannot be sure as to the timing, but we can see that the pieces of the end times puzzle are falling into place. Christians won’t be here for the final seven years of world history. Jesus will call us Home prior to the end of the age. There is only one way you can avoid the time of Jacob’s trouble, and that is for you to give your life to Jesus. Recognize that you are a sinner. We all are. Jesus Christ entered His creation in order to offer all of us the only way for our sin to be forgiven. Only faith in His death, burial, and resurrection will bring forgiveness of your sins. Remember that God knows the difference between someone who just repeats words and someone with a changed heart. If you were baptized as a baby, you didn’t make the choice. Make that choice today, and turn away from your sins. Nothing is more important than drawing closer to God. Your relationship with Him will affect your eternity. “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shall believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Romans 10:9. He never changes, and He loves His creation. He came into this world in order bring salvation to a dead and dying population. Prophecy is a good witnessing tool, but if you don’t study Scripture, you won’t be able to use it to talk to people and calm their fears, and your own. Use it to bring a lost soul to the saving grace found only through faith in Jesus. The Rapture is drawing near and time is running out. When Jesus was arrested and crucified, Israel was blind and didn’t recognize their Messiah. The Apostle Paul tells us that there will come a time when the blindness will be lifted from that wonderful nation. “For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits, that blindness in part is happened to Israel until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.” Romans 11:25. Share your faith with others and open the eyes of the lost. The decision to follow Jesus has to be made individually; nobody can make that choice for you. Time is running out so give your life to Jesus now. Daily Jot: The Farm Chronicles: Queen and King - Bill Wilson – www.dailyjot.com This time August rolled around was the Randolph Fair. This is the culmination of the 4-H year—where everyone brings their 4-H projects for display and judging. It is a menagerie of sheep, goats, rabbits, horses, cows, food, vegetables, sewing—whatever is farm related—mixed in with many events, rides and games. It is the celebration of farming before harvest. Each year, I would take my horse to the fair. I looked forward to camping there and all the activities. In horse 4-H, Portage County had over 300 horses at the time. 4-H Horse Clubs were judged on how well they kept their stables, the individual projects, and it all culminated in a grand horse show on the last day of the fair. 1973 was my 10th year. Sue Baer, a friend and 4-H advisor, had spent a good deal of the winter trying to convince me to stay in 4-H one more year, but to join her club. She wanted to elevate her club with someone who was well known and could mentor some of the younger kids. She also felt she could guide me as I prepared for my future. I was getting ready for college and really just wanted to be done with 4-H and move on. But Sue made a compelling case that I should leave my Wandering Riders club and join her Western Raiders. I have to admit that one of my untold reasons for joining the Western Raiders was a young lady named Chris Bennett. She was the apple of my eye from the time I first saw her in the Southeast High School library. We became good friends. While generally pretty flamboyant, I was too shy with Chris to get out of the friend zone. Well, Sue had a whole lot of projects planned for me. I know now that she was interested in my overall development as a person, but I really didn’t want anything to do with the Ohio State 4-H speakers competition she signed me up for with classmate Carol Gibson (we did win). I didn’t want anything to do with some of Sue’s riding clinics (felt I was beyond that). And as sure as I was alive, I didn’t want anything to do with entering the Randolph Fair King competition. She didn’t tell me that she entered me. She sprang it on me a few hours before going on stage to be judged. Sue also nominated Chris unbeknownst to her either. So here we are stuck in this situation and threatening not to go through with it. We were so against doing anything we felt forced to do. Reluctantly, out of respect, we acquiesced shortly before showtime. We had to individually go up on the “stage,” which was a flatbed semitruck trailer they put in the horse arena, and answer beauty pageant-type questions. I remember the judges asked Chris if she would consider driving in the demolition derby. She answered, “Every day I drive is a demolition derby.” We won. As county fair royalty, we got to go on all the rides free. We were interviewed on the local radio station. We had to attend a banquet as guests of honor. All of which we were pretty irreverent, but polite. Years later, we would be queen and king of our own household. Proverbs 5:18 says, “Let your fountain be blessed, and rejoice with the wife of your youth.” I guess Sue Baer knew what she was doing after all. Daily Devotion: Will It Be Us? - by Greg Laurie – www.harvest.org Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever. —1 Thessalonians 4:17 https://harvest.org/resources/devotion/will-it-be-us/ - Listen It’s a question that often arises: Are we the generation that will experience the Rapture? We could be. But no one can say with complete certainty whether the Lord will return in our lifetime. Of course, some people like to point out that the word rapture isn’t in the Bible. That all depends. If you have a Latin translation, then it is. The term “caught up” in 1 Thessalonians 4:17 is the Latin word rapturus, from which the English word rapture originates. You can call it something else if you’re uncomfortable with the term. But it speaks of the event when believers, who are alive, suddenly will enter the presence of God Almighty. The apostle Paul described it for us: “We who are still living when the Lord returns will not meet him ahead of those who have died. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves” (1 Thessalonians 4:15–16 NLT). Paul continued, “Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever” (verse 17 NLT). The Greek word Paul used for “meet” carries the idea of meeting royalty or someone of great importance. And when Christ calls us to Himself, we will meet the ultimate royal: the King of kings and the Lord of lords. Do we find a mention of the Rapture any other place in Scripture? Yes. Jesus spoke of it in Matthew 24, where He said, “Two men will be working together in the field; one will be taken, the other left. Two women will be grinding flour at the mill; one will be taken, the other left. So you, too, must keep watch! For you don’t know what day your Lord is coming” (verses 40–42 NLT). Practically speaking, the Rapture means no death. However, it doesn’t mean that some won’t die. But it does mean there is a generation that will not die, a generation that will experience the Rapture. But if the Lord doesn’t return in our lifetime, we shouldn’t be disappointed. That’s because our hope is not in the coming of the Lord. Rather, our hope is in the Lord who is coming. What should be exciting to us as believers is not how we get there as much as where we are going. We have that hope. The Bible says of Jesus’ return, “The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent” (2 Peter 3:9 NLT). We need to be ready to meet the Lord, because we don’t know what will happen next. But one way or another, we will stand before God one day.
