There has been tit for tat attacks on an almost daily basis since the Israel-Hamas war broke out on Oct. 7, 2024, and they show no signs of ending. To the contrary, on Feb. 14, 2024, Hezbollah released an unusually vicious missile barrage against several targets in Israel that killed a female Israeli soldier and injured at least eight other people. Israeli officials said they will hold the Lebanese government as well as Hezbollah accountable because the Lebanese government is doing nothing to stop Hezbollah from firing rockets and missiles into Israel from Lebanese territory. Israel’s national security minister, Itamar Ben Gvir, said, “This isn’t just a dribble anymore, this is war. It is time to change the way we think.” A member of Israel’s war cabinet, Benny Gantz, said,
Israel said it would respond forcefully, and they wasted no time in doing so. Israeli fighter jets struck deep into Lebanese territory. A Hezbollah commander, a deputy, a third terrorist, and ten civilians were killed. A Hezbollah official quickly declared, “The enemy (Israel) will pay the price for these crimes.” The U.S., UN, EU, Arab League, and others say they are trying to keep the war from spreading, but their efforts are not working. When asked about the signs of His coming and the end of the age, one of the signs Jesus mentioned is wars and rumors of wars. Every jot and tittle of God’s Word must be fulfilled, and it is just a matter of time. (More: In response to an early morning Hezbollah drone attack on Israel, on Feb. 19, 2024, Israeli jets struck two Hezbollah weapons storage facilities deep in Lebanese territory.) Here are some signs that seem to indicate that the Rapture and Tribulation Period are drawing near. One, concerning the Two-State Solution and a peace treaty in the Middle East: the U.S. and many Arab nations are feverously pushing the division of Israel and the creation of a Palestinian state as soon as the Israel-Hamas war is over. They say this is necessary for the establishment of peace and security (peace and safety) in the Middle East. In response to this, on Feb. 15, 2024, Israel’s Finance Min. said, “We will in no way agree to this plan, which says Palestinians deserve a prize for the terrible massacre they carried out against us: a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.” It is also being reported that PA leaders do not want a Two-State Solution; they want a final solution (the destruction of Israel). That is what the chant “From the river to the sea, Palestine must be free” is all about. As of now, it looks like someone will have to produce a different plan, or an unacceptable peace treaty will have to be forced on both parties. In either case, the fact that powerful people are calling for a peace treaty when the Israel-Hamas war is over sends a strong signal that it is just a matter of time until the Antichrist confirms a peace treaty with many and world leaders wrongly declare peace and safety on earth. (More: A second article on the same day said, “The proposed plan includes steps that Israel has previously refused, including the evacuation of many West Bank settlements, a Palestinian capital in East Jerusalem and a combined security apparatus and government for the West Bank and Gaza.” The writer also said the plan will include a firm timeline for the creation of a Palestinian state.) (More: A third article on the same day said many Israeli officials have expressed outrage at this dangerous plan.) (More: Israel’s National Security Min. said, “1,400 murdered, and the world wants to give them a state. It won’t happen. The intention of the US, together with the Arab states, to establish a terror state alongside the State of Israel is delusional and part of the misguided conception that there is a partner for peace on the other side…. While we are in the government, no Palestinian state will be established.” (My opinion: If the U.S. continues to push the division of Israel and a Palestinian capital in East Jerusalem, the U.S. will soon experience a response from God.) Two, On Feb. 16, 2024, concerning persecution: according to the International Society for Civil Liberties and Rule of Law, more than 8,000 Christians were killed in Nigeria (a Muslim nation) in 2023. (Question: Israel was recently tried in the International Court of Justice for genocide in its war with Hamas; can we expect Nigeria to be tried in the International Court of Justice for genocide? My answer: Probably not.) Three, concerning the possible decline of America: on Feb. 15, 2024, it was reported that George Soros has bought 40% of the stock in the second largest radio broadcast company in America (220 radio stations), and some pundits are already concerned that he will use the stations to spread his anti-American beliefs and influence the next election. Four, concerning the decline of America and the coming persecution of believers: highly respected Pastor Jack Hibbs of Calvary Chapel in Chino Hills was recently invited to deliver the invocation at an opening session of Congress. A coalition of Democrats led by an atheist member of Congress, Jared Huffman, sent a letter to House Speaker Mike Johnson, expressing the rage of congressional members over Pastor Hibbs’ prayer. Democrats complained that Hibbs is a “radical Christian Nationalist who helped fuel the January 6th insurrection and [he] has a long record of hateful vitriol toward non-Christians, immigrants, and members of the LGBTQ community.” They said Hibbs offended them because he prayed about America’s “national sins.” (My opinion: There is something rotten in Washington, DC when many of our representatives think being a faithful Christian is wrong, wanting America to remain as a sovereign nation is wrong, and when they are offended by a preacher praying about sin in America. These are things that everyone should be praying about.) Five, concerning a departing from the faith and the decline of America: based on a recent study at Arizona Christian University: Author and Pastor David Fiorazo said, “A sobering conclusion to a brand-newstudy is that it appears America is on the precipice of Christian invisibility.” George Barna, Director of Research and co-founder of the Cultural Research Center at Arizona Christian University, said, “Children are following in the unfortunate spiritual footsteps of the generations that have preceded them, and this trajectory leads to the total abandonment of biblical Christianity in record numbers. Six, on Feb. 20, 2024, former Pres. Trump posted a comment on Truth Social about the death of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny. Trump said, “The sudden death of Alexei Navalny has made me more and more aware of what is happening in our Country. It is a slow, steady progression, with CROOKED, Radical Left Politicians, Prosecutors, and Judges leading us down a path to destruction. Open Borders, Rigged Elections, and Grossly Unfair Courtroom Decisions are DESTROYING AMERICA. WE ARE A NATION IN DECLINE, A FAILING NATION!” (My opinion: The things Trump mentioned are part of a deliberate plan to weaken America and establish a New World Order, also called world government. The death of Alexei Navalny was bad, but I agree with what Tucker Carlson said at the recent World Government Summit in Dubai: Transhumanists who think they are God are very dangerous and will get a lot of people killed. The death of one Russian is negligible compared to the billions that will die under the New World Order.) Seven, concerning Iran’s efforts to build nuclear weapons and the implication for the Battle of Gog and Magog: on Feb. 12, 2024, the former head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Agency said in a TV interview, “We possess all the nuclear science components and technology. We’ve crossed all the lines and overcome all obstacles. It’s like having all the parts to build a car: we have the chassis, the engine, the transmission, everything. Each component serves its purpose, and everything is in our hands.” The head of the International Atomic Energy Agency said, “Please show me the proof.” It looks like more war is coming (a nuclear confrontation with Israel) because world leaders are doing nothing to stop Iran. (More: On Feb. 15, 2024, it was reported that “Tehran -Iran – reportedly test-fired advanced ballistic missiles this week as part of war drills to prepare the Islamic Republic for a strike on Israeli military sites.”) Eight, concerning the Battle of Gog and Magog: on Feb. 18, 2024, Russian Pres. Putin said Turkey has emerged as Russia’s most reliable partner in the gas sector. Russia, Turkey, and Iran will team up with others to attack Israel in the latter days and latter years (Ezek. 38-39). These traditional enemies are settling their differences and becoming allies. (More: On Feb. 17, 2024, it was reported that Russia has invited representatives of Hamas, Fatah, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, the Palestine Liberation Organization, and others to Moscow on Feb. 29, 2024, to discuss Russia’s growing criticism of Israel and its Western allies. Russia wants to exert more influence on the Middle East.) Nine, concerning a borderless world and an increase in drug use at the end of the age: on Feb. 16, 2024, a routine traffic stop by the Texas Dept. of Public Safety discovered $1.2 million of cocaine in the vehicle. (Note: A different stop in Dec. 2023 discovered $10 million in meth and cocaine. Biden’s open border is enriching the drug cartels and killing many U.S. citizens.) Ten, concerning famine: on Feb. 17, 2024, it was reported that Biden’s Dept. of Agriculture allocated $130,000 to study the value of using crickets that have been fed municipal landfill waste as a source of protein for humans. The agency believes raising livestock uses too much of the world’s resources, and it wants to know if feeding crickets waste from municipal landfills will lower the cost of cricket production that can be passed on to customers who need to save money by eating them (especially in poor countries). Eleven, concerning deceit and an economic collapse: on Feb. 16, 2024, the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) said:
If I remember other reports correctly, they are not saying an economic collapse is imminent, but they are saying things must change, or America’s economy will collapse in a few years. (My opinion: If the Rapture happens, the economic collapse will happen sooner than they expect.) Twelve, concerning the patient that Musk’s company implanted a brain chip in: on Feb. 20, 2024, it was reported that Musk said the patient seems to have made a full recovery with no ill effects that the company is aware of; the patient can control a computer mouse, and the system can read the person’s intended movement and thoughts. Some would say that can’t be true because the people of that nation do not generally live as the Old Testament commands. But when did the people of Israel ever live up to the law of Moses? History shows that the Jews in Israel today descend from the Jews in Israel 2,000 years ago. God placed the proof in their DNA. Do you know what that means? It means the Bible is true and you can trust every word. The Jewish people remaining distinct and regathering in Israel is one of the greatest of all biblical miracles. And it is taking place right now before our very eyes. There were many dispersions of the Israelites from their homeland. Those dispersals culminated with Rome sacking Jerusalem and destroying the temple in 70 AD. The Children of Israel were dispersed around the globe. This is called the diaspora. They were physically and economically assimilated into cultures the world over, and yet, miraculously, they remained a distinct people. And their DNA proves it! Michael Hammer of the Arizona Research Laboratories at the University of Arizona summarized the results of his major study of the DNA of Jews from various places in the world. “Despite their long-term residence in different countries and isolation from one another, most Jewish populations were not significantly different from one another at the genetic level. The results support the hypothesis that the paternal gene pools of Jewish communities from Europe, North Africa and the Middle East descended from a common Middle Eastern ancestral population, and suggest that most Jewish communities have remained relatively isolated from neighboring non-Jewish communities during and after the Diaspora.” That was in 2001. His results have been confirmed several times since. A 2013 study released in the peer-reviewed, scientific journal Nature concludes, “These results… trace the origins of most Jewish Diaspora communities to the Levant.” The “Levant” means the area bordering the Eastern Mediterranean — in other words, the area of Israel. In all of history there is no other story like this one. These people were exiled from their land. They met harassment and persecution everywhere they went. On more than one occasion, they faced attempts at genocide. Every human instinct would be to hide within the surrounding culture by removing all distinctions. They didn’t do that. They kept their faith traditions and they married within their faith community. The people of this small nation were dispersed and spread around the world two thousand years ago. They are not a race, but to this day, they remain a distinct people with genetic markers placing their ancestors in the area of ancient Judea. It is nothing less than breathtaking. But here’s the kicker. Three thousand years ago, God said it would happen! (For example, see Ezekiel 36 and 37. Notice that Israel is to be regathered before their spiritual renewal.) Since the establishment of modern Israel in 1948, a significant portion of the world has made the destruction of this tiny nation, their great priority — including several immensely wealthy oil-producing nations. But with all that money and the power that goes with it, they haven’t removed little Israel. It is a miracle as potent in its own way as the parting of the Red Sea. It is a sign to the nations that God keeps His word, and that nothing can stand in the way of that. In Matthew 24:35 (NKJV), Jesus put it this way. “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.” The ongoing existence of Israel and the Jewish people prove it! Infinite questions sometimes rumble around in fruitless searches and, of course, find no answers. One such imponderable question, comprising several others that encircle that primary quandary, is: From whence comes the thing called iniquity? Yes. There is, of course, a definition of the term, as there is for all other words within dictionaries of the world. But we don’t ask: “What” is iniquity? We are living through it! We can see it manifest in every direction we look on today’s horizon of egregious activity. We know “what” it is. What we want to know is: “From where does all that evil, that wickedness that the term defines come?” As believers in the inerrant Word of God, the Bible, we look there to find out the only information there is about this infinite term and the question posed that befuddles the finite apparatus of human thinking –the brain. We look here for ultimate answers to life because the Word of God –the Bible—comes from the Mind of the Creator of all things. His Answers ARE the answers we desire and the ones we can absolutely take as 100% Truth. Therefore, we have to look at the thing called iniquity through the Perfect Prism, which is the Word of God. God, the Creator of all that is, Created everything Perfectly. God cannot make mistakes, just like He cannot tell a lie. He is Absolute Truth. His Son, Who Created all that is, is the Way, the Truth, and the Life… So, if God can do no wrong and Creates only Perfectly, from where comes this most perplexing thing God’s Word calls iniquity? Here is where that blasphemous evil term first appears, disrupting God’s Perfection. “Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyros, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee” (Ezekiel 28:12-15). Isaiah the prophet next describes the mind-boggling moment iniquity was found in Lucifer. “How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High” (Isa 14:12-14). Iniquity was possibly first found in Lucifer, maybe the Apex Angel of God’s Creation in considering Heaven’s Angelic Order. I say “possibly” and “maybe” because there are things of the Eternal Sphere that the finite mind is neither privy to nor can grasp. I.e., the thing called iniquity could have been interjected into being earlier, and there might be an Angel above Lucifer’s Heavenly Status; we just can’t know at this time. We can know only what God’s Word illumines for now. We might know at some time in the Eternal future when we will be like Him. Thou wast perfect in thy way, Ezekiel tells in speaking to Lucifer. He was blameless, as given for the term perfect in other translations. Repeatedly, the designation perfect is translated as “without defect” (Leviticus 1:3, 10; 3:1, 6, 4:3, 23, 28, 32; 5:15, 18, etc.) The word perfect or blameless is used to describe God once, but the majority of the time, it describes humans. The perfect God created all beings, angelic and human, in perfection. God’s inerrant Word clearly shows that God created everything that was created only in Perfect order. This Truth magnifies the thing called iniquity and its strange, inexplicable entrance into that perfect order. It is a thing beyond finite understanding or explanation. To begin, we acknowledge God’s absolute Sovereignty. That is, He is Omnipotent and Omniscient, and, of course, Omnipresent. He answers to no one and is governed only by His Own Holy Righteousness. However, our finite minds are equipped with fertile imagination, and I think it is not counter to God’s Holy Will to use imagination to pose a possible, even most likely, probability regarding this thing called iniquity. He has chosen to let us know that the evil that is now saturating His once Perfect Creation came to be through the thing called iniquity. It first entered, so far as He has chosen to let us know, when it entered the perfectly created Majestic Angel Lucifer. The manifestation of iniquitous behavior was in the form of Pride that welled within this glorious creature, who determined that he was equal or even greater than his Creator. Lucifer, then, obviously was Granted by God the Creator, the ability to choose. He was given volition. The most likely reason for granting this, considering the matters involved from this weak, finite brain function, is that God wants His Creation –whether Angels or humankind, to have the freedom and the ability to have free will…volition. He didn’t want robots that had no choice in the matter of obeying Him. Obedience, in God’s Order of things, equates to love. Jesus, Who is God, said to those who would follow Him: “If ye love me, keep my commandments” (John 14:15). In Jonathan Brentner’s and my new book, HEREAFTER: It’s Far Better Than You Imagine, we scripturally document that Eternity in Heaven with God Forever will be populated only by those who love Him. There will be no more sin infection from which came into God’s Perfect Creation this mysterious evil called iniquity. To be among that population, Perfected like those Reconciled with God the Father through God the Son, you and I must obey the Instructions Given by Jesus, Who is the very Word of God (John 1:1). Here is what that Word Commands/Instructs in order to be in Glory Forever: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 10: 9-10). Unfortunately, I think that we aren’t too far away from finding out. A survey that was conducted late last year discovered that 90 percent of Americans believe that we are experiencing a mental health crisis right now. Tens of millions of Americans are currently taking pills for their mental or emotional health, and the number of Americans that are killing themselves just keeps going higher and higher with each passing year. But numbers certainly aren’t necessary to prove that the level of crazy in our society has reached heights never seen before. All you have to do to prove that our society is descending into an abyss of insanity is to go out into the streets. For example, when the Biden administration was searching for “extremists in the military”, somehow they missed this guy… A serving US Air Force officer is in a critical condition in hospital after setting himself on fire outside the Israeli embassy in DC and livestreaming the results. Horrifying video was broadcast uploaded to social media channel Twitch on Saturday afternoon after the man dressed in combat fatigues declared ‘I will no longer be complicit in genocide’. Flames spread over the man’s body after he shouted: ‘I am about to engage in an extreme act of protest,’ before repeatedly shouting Free Palestine!’ How does someone like that actually get into the military in the first place? Have recruiting standards actually dropped so low that just about anyone with a pulse can get in? Of course the general population isn’t any better. Literally, the next person that you encounter on the street could be an axe murderer, a mass shooter, a sexual pervert or something even worse… An Ohio mom posted a grinning photo of herself on a sunny beach at the same time that her little daughter lay dying in her filthy playpen back home. Kristel Candelario, 32, pleaded guilty to aggravated murder Thursday for abandoning her 16-month-old daughter, Jailyn, when she jetted off on a 10-day vacation to Puerto Rico in June. Three days into the trip, the seemingly carefree mom shared a photo of herself mugging for the camera on a sandy beach. This 32-year-old woman literally left her baby daughter at home while she vacationed in Puerto Rico for 10 days. By the time she finally returned home, her daughter was already dead from starvation and dehydration… When Candelario finally returned to her Cleveland home a few days later, she found her daughter not breathing in her playpen and called 911. The baby had languished in a pile that “consisted of soiled blankets and a bottom liner, saturated with urine and feces,” an affidavit stated. An autopsy later revealed that Jailyn succumbed to starvation and dehydration. What in the world was she thinking? It takes a lot to shock me these days, but that story definitely shocked me. A lot of people seem to think that AI will save humanity, but AI has already gone completely nuts too. And humanity is really messed up right now. Just look at Los Angeles. Many decades ago, it was one of the most beautiful cities in the entire world. But now it is a rotting, decaying hellhole… Los Angeles, one of the most populous counties in the United States, grapples with a devastating reality: the death toll among its unhoused population reached alarming heights in 2023, with more than 2,000 individuals losing their lives. These tragic deaths, averaging nearly six per day, underscore the severity of the humanitarian crisis unfolding on the streets and in shelters across the county. A comprehensive analysis of Los Angeles County medical examiner data, exclusively reviewed by the Guardian, paints a grim picture of the escalating emergency. Over the past decade, a total of 11,573 deaths of unhoused individuals have been logged, with fatalities steadily climbing each year. In 2023 alone, 2,033 lives were lost—an astonishing 291% increase from 2014 and an 8% uptick from the previous year. On the other coast, the Big Apple is being “overwhelmed by a wave of crimes committed by illegal immigrants”… Over the past few weeks, New York has been overwhelmed by a wave of crimes committed by illegal immigrants The attack on the police in Times Square, the shooting in Manhattan, a series of thefts in Brooklyn – all this is the work of illegal immigrants. “What goes on in Third World countries is happening on the streets of New York — every day, any borough, with no consequences,” Vickie Paladino, a member of the New York City Council from Queens said. Our politicians could put an end to our national crime wave, but they have no intention of doing so. Instead, they continue to crack down on their real enemies. In this day and time, the real “bad guys” are those that choose to stand up for traditional values… A bill introduced in the Illinois House of Representatives would legally define it as ‘child abuse’ for parents to object to gender transitioning of their children by way of puberty blocking, cross sex hormones or surgery. The legislation, Bill 4876, introduced earlier this month, would also protect doctors from liability should they decide to prescribe those treatments to children who have not gotten parental consent. The legislation would also allow for the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) to take children away from their parents for opposing such procedures. At this point, even the Pope has completely abandoned traditional values. Of course that wasn’t a coincidence. We really are living in extremely crazy times, and they are only going to get crazier in the years ahead. But you don’t have to allow all of the insanity to overwhelm you. Cling to the truth, because the truth will set you free. Daily Jot: Are you lit? - Bill Wilson – www.dailyjot.com There is a whole lot of attention these days placed on whether you are “seen” or “heard.” The media, celebrities, even some preachers often talk about being seen and heard. An article on pyschologytoday.com puts it this way: “If your tribe didn’t see you, there was a risk you’d be left behind when the nomadic life of early humans dictated they move, and being alone equated to death. If other tribes didn’t see and respect you and your tribe, they were likely to invade your territory, take your resources, and leave you and your family to die. In the ancient part of our brains, not being seen is equivalent to being sentenced to death.” A little drastic, right? Seems to be “seen,” you might need to be “lit.” But not the way you may think. In Exodus 27:20-30:10, Moses is instructed to have the people bring the pure olive oil to light the lamps of the Menorah. The priests were to kindle the lamps each evening in the Holy Place. Then the LORD tells Moses to ordain Aaron and his sons as the priests, and describes the garments they were to wear in service in the Tabernacle. Each priest was to wear four garments: linen breeches, tunics, sashes, and a turban. The High Priest wore a blue robe that was decorated with pomegranates, and golden bells. Over this was the ephod, an apron woven of gold, blue, purple and crimson thread, and attached was the gemstones for each tribe. On the front of the High Priest’s turban was a golden plate, engraved with the words, “Holy to the LORD.” Next, the priests were ordained in a seven day ceremony, in which they washed and dressed in their holy garments, were anointed with oil and blood, and offerings of sacrifices followed. The priests were to present the burnt offerings twice a day on the copper altar, and there is a description of the Golden Altar of incense, also offered twice a day when the Menorah lamps were relit. On Yom Kippur, the blood of atonement was to be placed on the corners of the ark once a year by the High Priest. So what does this have to do with us? 1 Peter 2:9 says, “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, to proclaim the virtues of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.” Just as the first responsibility of the priests of Israel was to light the ner tamid (daily lamp), the Menorah, symbolizing the Devine Presence, we are to let our light shine before men (Matthew 5:16). That’s how we draw others to the Lord. The Hebrew word for priest, kohen, may come from the Hebrew word ken, meaning “yes,” and the word kivun, meaning “to direct” or “lead,” implying that the priest helps direct or draw us to the light/ truth of God. Being a witness to that light doesn’t mean we are perfect, we all sin and need to confess and repent from our condition to him to abide in that light, “But if we are walking in the light, as he is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of his Son Jesus purifies us from all sin (1 John 1:7).” It’s good to be seen with the light of Christ from within. Built in 1961, it was a symbol of the tyranny of Communism and its repression of the people under its control. After World War II, Germany was divided, and the Soviets took Eastern Germany and East Berlin. Ultimately, they built a wall around it, which divided the nation. A number of people tried to escape, and many lost their lives in the process. In 1987, President Reagan made his now-famous speech there, saying, “Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!” Gorbachev, the leader of the Soviet Union at the time, did not do it, but the people of East Germany ultimately did. It was a great moment for freedom when that wall came down. Going much further back in history, another wall came down that also was a symbol of tyranny and bondage. It was the wall of sin that Jesus Christ tore down because of what He did for us on the cross. We read about it in Ephesians 2:14: “For Christ himself has brought peace to us. He united Jews and Gentiles into one people when, in his own body on the cross, he broke down the wall of hostility that separated us” (NLT). It has been said that you can tell the depth of a well by how much rope must be lowered. As we look at how much rope God lowered from Heaven when He sent His own Son to die for our sins, we realize how deep the well really was. It’s amazing to me how many people so casually consider the claims of Jesus Christ, acting as though they have all the time in the world to sort through various religious ideas and come to their own conclusions. They peruse religious ideologies like they’re looking at a menu and deciding what to have for dinner. They may start with a small order of Christianity, but they want to hold the guilt on that. Maybe they’ll have a side of Hinduism with a little bit of mysticism thrown in. They think they can pick and choose what they like—or even order à la carte. But they don’t see how radical their situation really is. What they don’t realize is they’re in the middle of a desert. They’re dehydrated and starving to death, without any resources to purchase food or water. They’re in trouble. But suddenly, God appears and sets before them a beautiful banquet table filled with the finest gourmet offerings. And He bids them to come and dine. Basically, they have a choice: they can eat and partake of what God offers them, or they can refuse to eat and then die because of their decision. But the price already has been paid for the feast. There’s nothing they can do to earn it. This is the situation of humanity. God has laid out for us a clear path on which to walk and to know Him. And it’s the only way to come into a relationship with Him.
