Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.
 
You are of God, little children, and have overcome them because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. They are of the world. Therefore they speak as of the world, and the world hears them. We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this, we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error. (1 John 4:1-6).
 
On July 27, 2020, my article The 30330 Man (rev310.net) was posted on rev310.net. Three months later (October 20, 2020) I collaborated with Pete Garcia, and the article entitled The Spirit of Antichrist in 2020 (rev310.net) was posted. This article is a review of these previous articles, as well as an update on events that have transpired since then.
 
Pete wrote, “Well, it is not often that I would openly agree with the Chinese Zodiac, but 2020 certainly has been the Year of the Rat. Certain years have stood out in human history as being the worst years on record. Certainly, the year of Noah’s Flood (1656 Anno Mundi) should take the record as THE worst year. However, if you were a Creation-denying, godless heathen, you would probably relegate that honor to the year 536AD. In recent history, we have the years 1918 (Spanish Flu outbreak), 1929 (Great Depression), and 2001 (9/11) as coming in the top ten of all around, terrible years to live through. That was, until 2020.
 
Those were nothing compared to 2020. So far this year, we have been treated to: COVID-19(84), a faux presidential impeachment, mandatory lockdowns, forced economic shutdown, murder hornets, racial conflict, rampant rioting and looting, tolerance of the anarchists and Marxist violence by progressive politicians and the media, the hyper-sensationalism by the media to ramp up hysteria, the normalization of pedophilia by California, unchecked Trump Derangement Syndrome, Beirut explosions, massive wildfires, 10 hurricanes (thus far), state-sanctioned mail-in ballot fraud, and a potential civil war centering around one of the most contentious elections since Abraham Lincoln. And we still have two months left in this year.”
 
Since this article was posted in October 2020, the events of November and December of that year aren’t mentioned. The U.S. held the presidential election on November 3, 2020, with the Democratic candidate Joe Biden winning. Kamala Harris was chosen as vice president. “The first Americans were vaccinated against the coronavirus Dec. 14 after the US Food and Drug Administration approved the emergency use of Pfizer’s COVID-19 shot on Dec. 11. The country’s second inoculation, developed by Moderna, was then given FDA approval a week later on Dec. 18 — with states receiving the jab Dec. 21. The arrival of the two vaccines, which were developed in less than a year, was touted as one of the greatest scientific accomplishments in US history.” {1}
 
Since these events, the divisiveness of the nation and the world has happened so quickly that it begs the question as to the nature of the rapidity at which it is occurring. Underlying the societal and global divide — of which politics, religion, governmental philosophies, economics, etc., reside — is the spiritual component. the Apostle Paul warned us that in the last days, perilous times would come (2 Timothy 3:1) and that our battles would not be with people, but with the forces of darkness.
 
“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places” (Ephesians 6:12).
 
Still, the speed and intensity of these perilous times are unnerving. It is as if the world’s population has become unwitting recipients of massive psychological-spiritual warfare operations on a global level. Perhaps the reason for this is that Satan knows his time is short, and he is readying his demonic forces to act in preparation for the impending great separation (the Rapture of the Church). He knows it could happen at any moment; thus, he is working quickly to prepare the world for what comes after the Restrainer has been removed.
 
I believe 2020 was the year the spirit of Antichrist, working through both human and demonic agents, came “out of the closet,” so to speak, and began working in earnest to destroy America and set up their new world order or global government. They are now in the stage where they don’t care if the populace knows their evil plans because they control the government, media, academia, and the financial sector. The world’s elites (the rich and powerful) control the narrative. They are capable of manufacturing crises and wars and then dictating to the mainstream media what misinformation to feed to the masses.
 
The number 2020 can be fragmented into the number 20 (doubled) and two of its divisors are the numbers, 2 and 10 (2 x 10 = 20). The number two represents division, opposition, enmity, and oppression. “Two is the first number by which we can divide another, and therefore in all its uses, we may trace this fundamental idea or division or difference. Where there are two people, ideas, or acts concerned, they can be either in unity or in opposition to one another. Where man is concerned, the number 2 testifies of his fall more often than not, for that difference implies opposition, enmity, and oppression.” {2}
 
The number 10 signifies completeness and the perfection of Divine order. “Entire cycles are complete with the number 10. Noah completed the antediluvian age in the 10th generation. The 10 commandments contain all that is necessary for the law to be complete. The Lord’s Prayer is completed in 10 clauses. The 10 plagues were representative of the complete circle of God’s judgment on Egypt. The tithes of 10% represent the whole of what was due from man to God as marking and recognizing God’s claim on the whole.” {3}
 
Therefore, the number 20 is associated with the perfection of division or separation. Some examples of the number 20 include the following: Abram was the 20th generation of Adam and was separated from his family when he moved to Canaan. Jacob spent 20 years working for his father-in-law, Laban, and was separated from his father and mother. His wages for these 20 years were marriage to Laban’s two daughters, Rachel and Leah, and his livestock. Joseph’s brothers sold him for 20 shekels of silver to the Ishmaelites, who took him to Egypt. Thus he was separated from his family.
 
No one (including the Levite family of Moses, Aaron, and Miriam) who was 20 years of age or older when they started the journey would survive to enter the Promised Land except for Caleb and Joshua, the two faithful scouts of Israel who trusted and believed in God. Their faith and reward is a prophetic type of the Rapture of the saints (Church), where all believers in Christ will enter their new home in the Promised Land of Heaven (the New Jerusalem).
 
20 was the age of the men of Israel when they were able to serve in the army during the time of Moses and Joshua. At this time, they were separated from their family. During the time of the Judges, the Israelites spent 20 years being oppressed by the King of Canaan due to their apostasy against the Lord. Samson led Israel for 20 years, in the days of the Philistines, attempting to separate his people from their oppression. The Ark of the Covenant was separated from the Israelites for 20 years, for it remained at Kiriath Jearim. These are just a few examples of the number 20 and its Biblical significance. With the number 2020, the duplication of 20 means it is important, such as “verily, verily” or “woe, woe.”
 
In my 2020 article entitled The 30330 Man, I discussed how Joe Biden, at the end of the Democratic presidential debate (on July 31, 2019), told the viewers to “go to Joe 30330” to support him. I then speculated on why this particular number (and the fragment numbers 3, 30, and 33) was used. We know old Joe didn’t think this number up by himself as he doesn’t think very clearly these days. I believe powers and principalities are operating behind the scenes of government officials and the new world order elites.
 
In 2020, I received several emails informing me of a fact regarding this number that I was not aware of, and which had a significant relationship with the article itself. This fact comes in the way of a mathematical equation: 2020/666 = 3.0330. 666 is the number for the Antichrist, as 6 is the number for man. The number 3 denotes divine perfection or completion, so the three repetitive sixes represent man attempting to be Divine or God. 30330 is the precursor of 666. It is the number for the spirit of Antichrist that comes before the lawless man himself, the Antichrist.
 
The number 30330, in my opinion, represents the human and demonic forces working behind the scenes (and out in the open these days) to create a one-world government, religion, and economy. These demonic powers are paving the way for a one-world government, which in turn will pave the way for the Antichrist. Numbers matter to these evil beings, both human and demonic. The number 30 represents the U.N.’s Agenda 2030, and 33 symbolizes the occult or supernatural. See www.cuttingedge.org/news/n1766.cfm  .
 
The number 33 = 11 x 3. The number 11 represents disorder, disorganization, and division. The number 3 represents divine perfection in the Bible. The Antichrist will be the 11th king of the new world order according to Daniel 7:24. He will be aided by Satan and the false prophet. Together they will be the unholy three or trinity. The Antichrist will not only “be against” Christ but will attempt to be the Jews and the world’s Messiah (Christ). Under his rule, the world will only know disorder, disorganization, division, and death.
 
Freemasonry and the occult have hijacked the true meaning of the number 33, which represents Jesus and His divine knowledge. They believe man can attain supernatural knowledge and abilities by his own power or by studying and mastering esoteric beliefs and hidden knowledge such as witchcraft, sorcery, astrology, and numerology (non-biblical). In Freemasonry, the number 33 is often referred to as the “Master Mason Number.” This number is considered to be special as it is the highest degree attainable in Freemasonry and therefore represents a much higher level of knowledge and understanding.
 
During the first advent, Jesus, as the Son of God, had divine knowledge and abilities that were given to him by the Father and the Holy Spirit. The Bible records that the numbers 3 and 33 (and 30 to a lesser degree) are associated with Jesus. Jesus started his ministry at 33 years of age (some say 30) and was crucified in AD 33. In the year AD 33, at 3 PM Israel time, there was darkness in the land of Israel for 3 hours, after which Jesus uttered his last 3 words – “It is finished.” Mankind’s salvation was now secure and complete for all who put their trust and faith in Him. Three days later, as proof of Jesus’ deity, Jesus was resurrected from the grave and was seen and heard by many.
 
The word “firstfruits” is mentioned 33 times in the Bible (NKJV). Jesus Christ is the firstfruits of the dead. “But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep” (1 Corinthians 15:20). Jesus will one day return to set up His millennial kingdom, for He is King of kings and Lord of lords. The “kingdom of heaven” is mentioned 33 times in the Book of Matthew. “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven” (Matthew 7:21). The “kingdom of God” is mentioned 33 times in the Book of Luke (NKJV). “So you also, when you see these things happening, know that the kingdom of God is near” (Luke 21:31).
 
33 verses in the New Testament mention a “lamb” with most of them referring to “the Lamb” or “the Lamb of God.” Although 7 is the dominant number in the Book of Revelation, mentioned 58 times, the number 3 is mentioned quite often as well. “Three” is used 11 times, and “third” is used 22 times – for a total of 33 times.
 
Yes, Jesus also represents division, as he testified: “Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword. For I have come to set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and a man’s enemies will be those of his own household. He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it” (Matthew 10:34-39).
 
If Jesus’ first advent ended in AD 33, then it is possible He could return to the Earth (second advent) in 2033. I have written about this many times. The logic goes like this: If Jesus was killed in 33 AD, and a thousand years is a day for the LORD (Psalm 94, 2 Peter 3:8), then two days for the Lord would be 2000 years or 2033 AD. The third witness would be Hosea 6:1-3, “Come, and let us return unto the Lord: for he has torn, and he will heal us; he has smitten, and he will bind us up. After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight. Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the Lord: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.”
 
Jesus’ first advent ended in AD 33 or approximately 4000 AM (anno mundi – from creation), which would be like “the fourth day” for the LORD. We are now in the year 2024, which is 1991 years from 33 AD. This is nine years shy of 2000 years (“two days for the Lord”). The number 9 represents finality or judgment in the Bible. Does it seem plausible that in “the sixth day” (from creation), or 2033 AD, Jesus could return to the Earth to establish His millennial kingdom? The following hypothetical timeline is based on this theory.
 
If the spirit of Antichrist began in earnest in 2020 (for Satan knows his time is short) and if Jesus were to return in 2033, then that would be 14 years (inclusive reckoning). The number 14 is a multiple of 7, and being double that number implies a double measure of spiritual perfection. Of course, Jesus was crucified on the 14th day of the first month. A good example of the significance of the number 14 is seen in Matthew’s genealogy of Jesus (from Abraham to Jesus) in which Matthew breaks the genealogy down into three groups of 14.
 
From Abraham to David were 14 generations. Matthew’s first set of 14 generations is complete. However, the next two groups are “telescoped” (see Jesus' Family Tree:: By Randy Nettles - Rapture Ready) to accentuate the number 14 (2 x 7). Matthew’s second set is missing 3 Kings of Judah (Ahaziah, Joash, and Amaziah) that should be listed between Joram and Uzziah. Matthew’s third set is missing King Jehoiachin (Jehoiakim or Eliakim). There are probably many more names/ generations that aren’t listed from the time of the Babylonian exile until the time of Jesus, but Matthew made his point (with his genealogy and Gospel book) that Jesus is the true King and Messiah of the Jews. Jesus fulfilled the Old Testament expectation that a son of David would reign on the throne of David forever (Psalm 132:11-18 and others), as Gabriel had announced to Mary (Luke 1:32-33).
 
We have now, in 2024, had three years of Joe Biden’s presidency since he was sworn into office as the 46th president of the U.S. on January 20, 2021. There is no need for me to discuss the deteriorating condition of the country since he has taken office, as everyone is cognitive of the situation (except Joe Biden). I believe even the Democrats are aware of the decline and eventual ruination of the country even though they will not admit it. They are willing to lie, cheat, and put politics ahead of the safety and security of their fellow citizens, just to remain in power. Some RHINO Republicans have the same moral compass.
 
The following statistics are from Illegal border crossers totaling over 10 million since Biden's inauguration (msn.com), so I don’t know how accurate they are. “More than 10 million people have been reported illegally entering the United States since President Joe Biden took office in January 2021, the greatest number in history and of any administration. They total more than the individual populations of 41 states. These statistics exclude gotaway data, which CBP does not report publicly.
 
The number of people illegally entering the country surged after Biden and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas halted many preexisting border security policies, advanced sweeping parole and other policies to release the greatest number of illegal foreign nationals into the country, encouraged people from all over the world to use a phone app to enter the U.S., and facilitated U.S. entry application processes in foreign countries, among others.”
 
On November 5, 2024, the next presidential election will take place, that is if a major disaster doesn’t take place between now and then and martial law is put into place. That could delay the election for some time or indefinitely. Almost everyone I know of expects some kind of terror attack/s to take place in the near future, as nobody in the government is vetting these illegal immigrants entering the country. Also, the money that the local, state, and federal governments are spending on these law-breakers is staggering and cannot be sustained for long before it completely bankrupts us.
 
I expect lawlessness, corruption, apostasy, deception, lewdness, perversion, terrorism, wars and rumors of war, famines, pestilences, earthquakes, and demon possession to continue and become more prominent as the spirit of antichrist grows stronger and stronger throughout the next three years of 2024-2026.
 
The two-digit numeric fragments of 2024 are 20 and 24. We know 20 represents great division. The number 24 is 12 doubled. The number 12 represents the perfection of government or anything that has to do with “rule.” There are 12 signs of the zodiac, 12 hours in a day, 12 hours in a night, 12 children (sons) of Israel, 12 apostles of Jesus, etc. Genesis 12 describes Abram and his household entering the Promised Land. God appears to him and promises the land to Abram’s descendants. Revelation 12 describes Israel at the mid-point of the Tribulation (start of the Great Tribulation) when they are fleeing the land because of the persecution of the Antichrist. The Great Tribulation is described in Matthew 24:15-22. So, the number 24 is a double dose of government rule.
 
2024 is not just an election year (for the U.S.), it is the election year. “Globally, more voters than ever in history will head to the polls as at least 64 countries (plus the European Union)—representing a combined population of about 49% of the people in the world—are meant to hold national elections, the results of which, for many, will prove consequential for years to come.” {4}
 
There were 24 courses of priests in the earthly Temple, which were formed on the “pattern of things in the heavens.” In Revelation 4:4 and 10-11, we are introduced to the 24 elders around the throne of God. The 24 elders represent the raptured saints from all ages since the Church was conceived on Pentecost in the first century. This scene in heaven is after John was ‘raptured’ into heaven in Rev. 4:1. The elders are wearing white robes and have crowns of gold on their heads. I believe this gathering takes place after the Bema seat judgment of Jesus Christ as they are seen casting their crowns before the Lord.
 
I believe the year 2024 represents a division of government or rule. Whereas there could be many different governments forming around the world in 2024, perhaps the Kingdom of God, which includes redeemed mankind, will begin in heaven after the Rapture. Could this take place in 2024, as the numbers seem to imply? I don’t know, but it is certainly possible.
 
The two-digit numeric fragments of 2025 are 20 and 25. Of course, 20 represents great division and 25 is the square of five (5 x 5). Five is the number for grace in the Bible. Therefore, in 2025 you have a multiplication of division and grace. It is also the sixth year from 2020 (which represents 30330/the strengthening of the spirit of Antichrist). 6 is the number for ‘man.’ So, in 2025, you have the division of man, yet grace abounds. I’ll let you be the judge of what this could represent.
 
I believe the years 2024- 2026 are high watch days for the Rapture. As I wrote about in The Hepta Week Cycle For Six Millennia of Mankind (rev310.net), “From Elijah’s rapture in 854-853 BC (3114-3115 AM) to the “high watch day” years for the Rapture in 2024-2025 AD (5991-5992 AM), is 2877 years or 411 sevens. If you add the previous 79 sevens (from the children of Israel entering the Promised Land in 1406 BC to Elijah’s rapture) to 411 sevens you get 490 sevens or 3430 years. So, there are 490 sevens from when the children of Israel entered Canaan in 1406 BC to the “high watch day” date for the Rapture of the Church in 2024-2025 AD. 490 (7 x 7 x 10) is a very significant number biblically.” See Seven Times More (rev310.net).
 
As I mentioned before, if the Second Coming occurs in 2033 (“two days for the Lord” since 33 AD), then the seven-year Tribulation would start in 2026. The numerics of the number 2026 are interesting. The fragments are 20 and 26. 20 represents great division and the number 26 is 13 doubled. 13 is the number for rebellion, revolution, or apostasy. Isn’t it interesting that the unholy trinity, Satan, Antichrist, and the false prophet, are introduced in chapter 13 of the Book of Revelation? Also numerically interesting is that the 144,000 Jewish Messianic witnesses are introduced in chapter 14, and Jesus returns to the earth with divine judgment and punishment for the unbelievers in chapter 19. The number 19 represents divine judgment in the Bible. See Judgment and the Number 19 (rev310.net).
 
2026 will be the year of division and rebellion/apostasy. I believe it will be the year the Antichrist confirms the covenant with Israel and the many (Daniel 9:27) for seven years. The spirit of Antichrist (represented by the number 30330) will progress to the actual introduction of the 666 man, the Antichrist himself, and his right-hand man, the false prophet. The Antichrist will accumulate power until he becomes the 11th king in the Ten Kings Kingdom. “The ten horns are ten kings who shall arise from this kingdom. And another shall rise after them; He shall be different from the first ones, And shall subdue three kings” (Daniel 7:24).
 
The Antichrist will kill three of the kings at the mid-point of the seven-year Tribulation. After this, the other 7 kings will relinquish control of the kingdom to him and he will become king of the world. I believe the seven Seal Judgments and the seven Trumpet Judgments will occur during the first 3.5 years of Daniel’s 70th week (the Tribulation). The Bowl judgments will occur during the final 3.5 years of the Tribulation.
 
I believe Dr. Thomas Horn could be correct in his assessment that the third Trumpet judgment of Revelation 8:10, in which the “star” or asteroid called Wormwood falls upon the Earth and poisons a third of the waters, is the asteroid called 99942 Apophis. This asteroid is a near-earth asteroid. Scientists say the closest known approach of Apophis to the Earth occurs on Friday, April 13, 2029, 21:46 UT, when it will pass Earth closer than geosynchronous communication satellites, but will come no closer than 31,600 kilometers above Earth’s surface. However, Tom Horn and others think Apophis will hit the earth, and this will be the 3rd Trumpet judgment.
 
Approximately one year later, in the spring of 2030, the Feast of Passover occurs in Israel. It will be very memorable as I believe the third temple will have been built by then and the Antichrist will come to Jerusalem and fulfill Daniel 9:27 regarding stopping the daily sacrifices and setting up the abomination of desolation.
 
The number 2030 is fragmented into the numbers 20 and 30. 20 denotes division, and 30 (being 3 x 10) denotes the perfection of Divine order, as in “marking the right moment.” 10 is the number for ordinal perfection and 2030 AD will be 10 years from 2020 AD (the start of 30330/spirit of Antichrist). The year 2030 will be “in the midst” of the 70th week of Daniel 9:27 and the start of the Great Tribulation (as mentioned in Matthew 24:15-22) when the Antichrist commits the abomination of desolation in the newly built third temple. At this point, the Jews will have to flee into the wilderness as mentioned in Revelation 12:6-17.
 
The global elites who are determined to bring in a New World Order seem fixated on the year 2030. The United Nations has set a deadline for achieving its Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development by the year 2030. Agenda 2030 for S.D. has 17 goals for curing all of the world’s problems under the leadership of the unelected officials of the United Nations. All nations are required to follow their guidelines to bring about this new utopia on Earth. All members will be required to submit to the authority of the one-world government of the United Nations. The United Nations initiated the Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development in 2015. They had a fifteen-year plan and are now past the halfway point of their deadline.
 
In 2033, seven years after the Antichrist confirms the covenant with Israel (and 3.5 years after the Abomination of Desolation), Jesus will return to the earth and destroy the human and demonic forces that are aligned against Him and His chosen people. Jesus will return not as the Son of Man or the Lamb of God, but as the Man of War or the Son of God. His name is called the Word of God in Rev.19:13. The result is found in Revelation 19:19-21.
 
The fragment numbers of 2033 are 20, representing division, and 33, representing Jesus and the Kingdom of God. There will be much division and separation when Jesus returns to the Earth. The Antichrist and the false prophet will be thrown alive into the Lake of Fire and Satan will be bound and sealed in the Abyss for 1000 years.
 
The Gentile survivors of the Tribulation will be gathered together for a judgment described in Joel 3:1-3 and Matthew 25:31-46. It is commonly called the sheep and goat judgment. The sheep Gentiles (nations) are those who proved their faith by helping the Jews during the Tribulation. The goat Gentiles are those who aided the Antichrist in his quest to round up and kill the Jews during the Tribulation. The sheep and goat Gentiles will be divided or separated from one another. The sheep Gentiles will enter the Millennium Kingdom while the goat Gentiles will be sent to Hell where they await the Great White Throne judgment at the second resurrection.
 
There will also be a great coming together when Jesus returns to the Earth to establish His Kingdom. The Old Testament saints and the Tribulation saints will be resurrected and translated at this time. These are the “friends of the bridegroom” (John 3:29) who will be invited to the wedding feast with which the Millennium will begin. “Then he said to me, Write: Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb! And he said to me, These are the true sayings of God” (Revelation 19:9). “And the Spirit and the bride say, Come! And let him who hears say, Come! And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely” (Revelation 20:17).

These reasonable and long-revered beliefs are now the primary target of those who wish to undermine the authority of God’s Word and bludgeon religious freedom, including the freedom to live, speak and believe according to deeply held Biblical convictions. People or ministries holding such views may be threatened with legal charges, face public ridicule or media scorn, lose business or sponsors, or jeopardize a career.
 
The power, money and influence of zealous progressive activists pushing this agenda is relentless. Taking the path of least resistance by going along with the culture is much easier than standing for truth, and that adds to the temptation to compromise on sexual morality. Better to self-censor than lose my promotion, goes the thinking. Or, Easier to get grant funding if my research aligns with progressive ideology. Who wants to be labeled a bigot or transphobe?
 
Standing for Biblical truth will eventually come at a cost. Remember 2 Timothy 3:12: “All who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.”
 
Päivi Räsänen, a physician, member of Finland’s Parliament and former Finnish interior minister, faced jail time for tweeting her Christian world­view. She simply disagreed with her denomination’s sponsorship of an LGBTQ Pride event. Even after two acquittals, the Helsinki prosecutor has continued to target her.
 
World Vision, a Christian relief and development agency, did not hire a candidate who failed to meet their standard for employees to abide by a Christian sexual ethic. The candidate, who was in a same-sex marriage, sued World Vision, demanding the organization either change its Biblical standards about marriage and sexuality or face a time-consuming discrimination lawsuit.
 
Such lawsuits have been filed against Roman Catholic schools in Indiana and North Carolina following termination of employee contracts for counselors and teachers who entered same-sex marriages against Catholic teaching. Courts constantly hear cases arising from LGBTQ activists who feel entitled to have their view of morality foisted upon churches and ministries. 
 
It was never enough to have freedom to marry in all 50 states; to celebrate rainbows for an entire month each June; or to dominate secular discourse, entertainment and education. The new frontier is to dismantle the beliefs, traditions and institutions that have yet to affirm progressive sexuality—namely churches and ministries with a Biblical worldview. Activists use the executive, judicial and legislative branches to force their “enlightened” view of marriage, sexuality and gender on religious ministries and nonprofits.   
 
Employment laws are a primary tool to chisel away at enduring Biblical beliefs about God’s merciful design for marriage, family and relationships. Weaponized sexual orientation and gender identity laws exist in virtually every liberal stronghold. Forcing Christian ministries to hire employees who disagree with Scriptural truths on these fronts is the camel’s nose under the tent. It would turn these ministries into watered-down, secularized versions of themselves, without the same grounding, passion and mission they have operated with for centuries.
 
Some judges clumsily parse out whether an employee is in a religious role held to Christian conduct standards, or a secular role where Christian standards supposedly don’t matter. To a follower of Jesus, this is nonsense. Scripture requires all of us to be ambassadors for Christ.
 
Donors, supporters, volunteers and beneficiaries notice when employees representing a ministry live and behave contrary to Christian teachings. The spiritual significance of the public Christian witness of every employee is something courts or lawmakers should never cast aside. Judges and legislators can be poor theologians, and church autonomy—long a standard within American law—insists judges and legislators limit interference with religious beliefs, decisions and practices of ministries.  
 
The Supreme Court has hinted that religious ministries and schools do not have to abandon long-held Christian standards about marriage, sexuality and gender. Yet the court has failed to remove the uncertainty that exists when Christians are sued by a member of the LGBTQ community simply for living out their faith or for hiring faithful, like-minded staff.
 
Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch wrote that uncertainty about religious freedom comes at a cost; religious groups across the country “will pay the price—in dollars, in time and in continued uncertainty about their religious liberties.” Justices Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas wrote that forcing a ministry to hire messengers who do not share their religious views threatens the continued viability of the ministry.
 
It is time for the Supreme Court to provide certainty and clarity that ministries do not have to forfeit cherished beliefs in order to lawfully exist, thereby honoring the First Amendment as intended in 1791.
 
But even if it doesn’t, God’s Word will prevail. Isaiah 55:11 says, “So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” And as Paul wrote while in chains in 2 Timothy, God’s Word is not chained. His Word shall endure forever.

Wikipedia states that midnight is the dividing moment between ending one day and beginning another. In the Bible, midnight is mentioned fourteen times and is always associated with some demonstration of the power of God, either Salvation or Judgment. (ESV – all emphasis is mine.)
 
One of the first instances that midnight is mentioned is in Exodus 12:29; “At midnight, the Lord struck down all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne, to the captive who was in the dungeon and all the firstborn of the livestock.”
 
The Israelite people were spared when they put lamb’s blood on the lentil – or top of the doorway – and on both sides near the top. They were instructed to stay inside their homes until the next morning. Those who followed God’s word were all spared, and this became the first Passover. What the Father did was so significant that Pharaoh and all the people told Moses to take all the Israelites away. They were supplied with food, jewelry, and livestock to make sure they left Egypt immediately.
 
In Acts 16:25-34, Paul and Silas had been put in prison. God used this to bring redemption to souls that were otherwise lost.
 
“About midnight, Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them; and suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken. And immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone’s bonds were unfastened. When the jailer woke and saw that the prison doors were opened, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself, supposing that the prisoners had escaped. But Paul cried with a loud voice, ‘Do not harm yourself, for we are all here!.’
 
“And the jailer called for lights and rushed in, and trembling with fear, he fell down before Paul and Silas. Then he brought them out and said, ‘Sirs, what must I do to be saved?’ And they said, ‘Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved; you and your household.’ And they spoke the word of the Lord to him and all who were in his house. And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their wounds; and he was baptized at once, he and all his family. Then he brought them up into his house and set food before them. And he rejoiced along with his entire household that he had believed in God.”
 
This is a bit lengthy, but because of God’s actions and Paul’s faithful service to Him, a man who previously had been an enemy became a Christian, along with his whole family. If Paul, Silas and the others had fled, the jailer would have been executed by his supervisors, as well as his whole family, and not in a swift, merciful manner. As is, souls were added to the Savior’s precious flock.
 
In Mark 13:35-37, we are given an example that we are to be aware that at an unknown day or hour, we will be raptured away from here.
 
“Therefore, stay awake; for you do not know when the Master of the house will come; in the evening or at midnight or when the rooster crows or in the morning; lest He come suddenly and find you asleep. And what I say to all, ‘Stay Awake.’”
 
Matthew 25:6-13 tells of the ten virgins that took lamps to meet the Bridegroom. We’re told five were foolish, and five were wise. The wise virgins took extra oil, but the foolish did not. When the Bridegroom arrived at midnight, the wise were able to meet Him, but the foolish had to leave to find oil. The wise went into the Marriage Feast, but the foolish were locked out.
 
This parable specifically references persons who are putting off receiving and accepting Jesus as their Savior. They are of the opinion that they will be able to call out to Jesus later because they believe they’ll have time when the Trumpet of God sounds, and there is a shout from an archangel.
 
In Matthew 24:36, Jesus said, “But concerning that day and hour, no one knows, not even the angels of Heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only.”
 
At the time that Jesus spoke those words, He had allowed Himself to be fully human and lower than the angels (Hebrews 2:7:9), but when He stated, “It Is Finished” in John 19:30, and He took His last breath as a human, He immediately regained being fully God.
 
For all humans, Paul told us in two places that we need to be prepared because our deliverance could be at any second. Looking at 1 Corinthians 51:52, “in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.”
 
By the way, this is not a trumpet from the Revelation Trumpet Judgments.
 
Next, 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; “For the Lord Himself will descend from Heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the Trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.”
 
“Twinkling of an eye” has been described by experts as significantly faster than one second. It would be impossible for anyone to even take a breath in that time, much less to be able to call out and be saved. Unless someone has already received and accepted Jesus as their Savior, they will not be taken up in the Rapture but will be left behind.
 
The purpose of the Rapture is given in several places such as 1 Thessalonians 5:9-10; “For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain Salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us so that whether we are awake or asleep, we might live with Him.”
 
Our true Creator is a God of Love, and even though we all are unworthy, He loves us completely. He sent a very precious part of Himself to this sin-filled world to be the only pure, sinless blood sacrifice that He could ever accept.
 
There are people who actually believe that Jesus must have sinned at least once. Though Jesus became human for our sake, no human sin-filled blood ever was inside Him. The blood He shed for us was even more pure than the unblemished blood of lambs that were sacrificed as a temporary measure of receiving forgiveness. Just one drop of His pure blood would have been enough to satisfy the Father’s need for perfection. The thing is, by the time His sacrifice was completed, He had shed nearly every bit of blood that was within Him. And every drop was as pure as Jesus was, and will be, the only human ever to have lived a complete sinless life on this earth.
 
Is it any wonder that anyone who rejects Jesus as Savior will not spend eternity in Heaven? All, that’s everyone who takes their last breath here without the Savior; they will spend eternity with Satan and his demons in the lake of fire, as given in Revelation 20:11-15.
 
Those who say they’ve been a good person, and believe that Jesus was real, but never asked Him for forgiveness and to be their eternal Savior will not be saved. Romans 10:9-13 gives the steps which are not complicated. Humans, through Satan’s influence, are arrogant enough to believe that God just has to let them in because they’re so good.
 
Romans 3:10, Romans 3:23, and Romans 6:23 all speak of how everyone falls short on our own merits. We are described as all being sinners, and as 6:23 states, “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” No human is sin-free, no matter how pious they try to appear today. If it wasn’t for 1 John 1:8-10, we would all end up in the lake of fire. When, not if, we sin, God will forgive us if we call out and ask His forgiveness.
 
Ephesians 2:8-9 tells us just how we have come to be saved. “For by Grace you have been saved through Faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works so that no one may boast.”
 
We don’t know when the actual day or hour will be, but we need to be prepared right now. Just think for a moment how wonderful it would be to turn your lost soul into a member of His precious flock, and that very night, the call goes out.
 
In a previous message (September 2018), I referenced a song by Gold City featuring Ivan Parker called “Midnight Cry.” It can be found on YouTube, and I invite all to listen to it. It describes the Rapture very well.
 
However, the Father also knows there are many who fit 1 Corinthians 1:18; “For the word of the Cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved, it is the power of God.”
 
Each day that passes shows the signs of this evil world rapidly approaching the Midnight Hour. Nothing more prophecy-wise needs to be done before the Rapture takes place. God will force no one to accept His Son, but all who do will spend eternity in Heaven in a place prepared by Jesus Himself (John 14:1-3). All who do not receive and accept Jesus will be separated from Him forever.
 
It’s your choice, and now would be a great time to decide. He will be coming soon, just as He said in Luke 21:28.

Joseph M. Stowell, former president of Cornerstone University, recounts a compelling narrative in his book, Eternity, shedding light on the tragic bombing of the Murrah Federal Building in April of 1995.
 
In this poignant story, a survivor of the Oklahoma bombing shared her harrowing ordeal of being trapped beneath the rubble, grappling with despair as she struggled to free herself. Amidst the chaos, a coworker who had escaped initially provided solace, standing by her side with words of reassurance and support. However, when rumors of another potential explosion surfaced, all bystanders, including her comforting companion, were swiftly evacuated, leaving her feeling abandoned and overwhelmed with fear.
 
Amid the danger, the survivor faced a terrifying uncertainty, unsure if help would ever arrive. Yet, in a moment of profound relief, her faithful friend returned as promised, leading paramedics to her rescue.
 
Stowell masterfully employed this gripping account to draw parallels to the struggles faced by believers in Christ, who often find themselves navigating a world fraught with chaos and confusion. He articulates, “Christ assures us that we are not abandoned and, in fact, have an assured future beyond this present world.”
 
This theme of promise and encouragement resonates deeply throughout the book of Revelation, particularly in its final chapters, 21 and 22. Here, Christ’s pledge to return is unwavering, offering believers the ultimate assurance of deliverance, safety, and eternal joy. The descriptions of the heavenly city, the New Jerusalem’s unparalleled grandeur, its harmony and tranquility, and the profound anticipation of beholding the face of the Lord, instill an indescribable hope amidst life’s tumultuous trials. They serve as a steadfast reminder that, regardless of present circumstances, a brighter future awaits, where suffering will cease, and everlasting bliss will reign supreme.
 
Here is what the Bible says in Revelation chapter 22, verses 1 through 5.
 
“Then the angel showed me a river with the water of life, clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb. It flowed down the center of the main street. On each side of the river grew a tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, with a fresh crop each month. The leaves were used for medicine to heal the nations.
 
No longer will there be a curse upon anything. For the throne of God and of the Lamb will be there, and his servants will worship him. And they will see his face, and his name will be written on their foreheads. And there will be no night there — no need for lamps or sun — for the Lord God will shine on them. And they will reign forever and ever.”
 
Dr. Henry Morris, the author of the Revelation Record, is also the author of the “Genesis Record.” In the preface of his book, Morris contends:
 
“In a very real sense, the book of Revelation is the sequel to the book of Genesis, the two books together bounding all history and bounding all of God’s revelations to mankind. They constitute the alpha and omega of God’s written Word, the Book of Beginnings and the Book of Unveilings.”
 
Dr. Henrietta C. Mears in What the Bible is All About takes the same position, saying:
 
“Revelation is a wonderful way to finish the story that began in Genesis. All that was begun in the Book of Beginnings (Genesis) is consummated in Revelation. In Genesis heaven and earth were created. In Revelation, we see a new heaven and a new earth. In Genesis the sun and moon appear; in Revelation we read that there is no need for the sun or moon, for Christ is the light of the new heaven. In Genesis there is a garden; in Revelation, there is a holy city. In Genesis there is the marriage of the first Adam; in Revelation the marriage supper of the second Adam, Jesus Christ. In Genesis we see the beginning of sin; in Revelation sin is done away. So, we can follow the appearance of the great adversary, Satan, and sorrow and pain and tears in Genesis, and see their doom and destruction in Revelation.
 
Things are very dismal in this world today. No one living has ever known such uncertainty about the future of human events. But things were dismal when the apostle John, an old, old man, was exiled to the isle of Patmos. He had been banished for his testimony of Jesus (1:9). While on the island, John was forced to labor hard in the mines and quarries. But his Commander-in-Chief appeared to him and delivered a ringing message of ultimate glory.”
 
The description of the heavenly city in Revelation chapters 21 and 22 reminds us that no matter what we are going through, it will not last indefinitely and the best is yet to come.
 
My wife and I live in historic Smithfield, North Carolina, which was built on the banks of the Neuse River. Our home is only a few yards away from this river. The history of cities, like Smithfield, being built along the banks of rivers dates back thousands of years and has played a significant role in their development.
 
The Neuse River is no exception. Stretching approximately 275 miles, it’s one of the longest rivers in the state. It provides water for humans to drink and use agriculturally. Its surrounding wetlands provide vital habitat for a diverse array of wildlife, including fish, birds, and other aquatic species. The river has occupied a crucial role in North Carolina’s history, having served as a transportation route for Native Americans, European settlers, and to this day trade and commerce. Numerous other historic cities along its banks reflect its significance to the state’s advancements. It supports various industries such as agriculture, manufacturing, and tourism, contributing bountifully to the economy of communities along its course.
 
However, like many rivers, the Neuse is facing serious environmental challenges with pollution from agricultural run-off, urban development, and industrial activity.
 
Most cities throughout America have been constructed along the banks of important rivers, providing so much for so many, but unfortunately, most rivers, like the Neuse, now face serious environmental issues.
 
But as John Phillips writes in Exploring Revelation:
 
“Here … [in the heavenly city] is a river whose streams make glad the city of God. There is no muddy, filthy stream, but a pure and crystal river containing the very essence of life itself. It flows from the throne of God. That throne, such a source of terror to evil-doers, is the source of life to those who know and love the Lord. The Lord Jesus likened the Holy Spirit to a river (John 7:38), and no doubt he is the reality behind the symbol … Life [God’s life-giving water — that water which regenerates and refreshes the soul eternally] in God’s city is characterized by purity, pleasure, and prosperity, but all are directly linked to a right relationship with God’s throne.”
 
What could be more wonderful than to live where integrity, enjoyment, and abundance flow freely like a river without hindrance? This is the future of the saved!
 
Nevertheless, let’s get our feet planted back on the earth again momentarily to consider passages such as this one also present us with an ideal that serves to remind us of our responsibility to care for God’s creation. Jesus taught in the Model Prayer to pray: “May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10).
 
The current state of the Neuse River and others similar around the world highlight the importance of environmental stewardship and the need for more attention and collective action to address pollution and protect natural resources. Heaven’s crystal-clear river cascading from the Throne can likewise be understood to mean that purposely or carelessly contaminating and poisoning rivers and streams, is not God’s will.
 
This should not be taken as a blanket endorsement of the draconian government restrictions to combat so-called climate change. There are very reputable scientists such as Dr. Fred S. Singer in his book, Hot Talk, Cold Science, which presents compelling scientific data that unequivocally demonstrates that the alarmist narratives about climate change, primarily perpetuated by the media, lack scientific validity.
 
The Christian worldview simply says God has given humanity dominion over the Earth (Genesis 1:28), and with this authority comes the responsibility to exercise stewardship of the earth’s resources wisely, recognizing that we are accountable to him for our actions and impact on the environment and future generations.
 
The book of Revelation indeed speaks of climate catastrophes on the horizon, but these come at the hand of God’s wrath, not humanly induced carbon emissions. This planet belongs to God and he is not about to permit humanity to commit ecological suicide. The Bible’s prophetic scheme doesn’t allow for it.
 
This river which flows down the middle of the main street in the New Jerusalem is said to be flanked by the Tree of Life on both sides. The Tree of Life is first mentioned in Genesis as one of the trees in the Garden of Eden, alongside another tree, the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil (Genesis 2:9). Later in Genesis, after Adam and Eve fell into sin by eating the forbidden fruit from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, the Genesis account says God placed a Cherubim and a flaming sword to guard the way to the Tree of Life, lest they eat of it, and live forever in their sinful condition.
 
Apparently, in the Garden of Eden, the fruit from this tree possessed life-preserving properties. Like a fountain of youth nestled within the verdant confines of the Garden, the fruit of the tree bestowed an elixir of immortality, ensuring Adam and Eve’s perpetual existence.
 
In Revelation chapter 22, the Tree of Life in the New Jerusalem is said to bear twelve kinds of fruit and yield its fruit each month. Its leaves are said to be for the healing of the nations. This depiction seems to imply that the fruit of this tree imparts not only physical nourishment but in some manner is a contributing factor to the maintenance of the redeemed’s everlasting life. Admittedly, the text does not explicitly say this, but the context and descriptions of the Tree of Life in both Genesis and Revelation strongly suggest it.
 
Another exciting deduction that can be made about the River of Life and the Tree of Life is that there will be eating and drinking in the heavenly city. Of course, this could be deducted from what Jesus said at the end of the Lord’s Supper: “Mark my words — I will not drink wine again until the day I drink it new with you in my Father’s Kingdom” (Matthew 26:29). Revelation chapter 19 and its account of the Marriage Supper of the Lamb point to the same conclusion. But here it’s mentioned again, and in this case, it emphasizes the joy of God’s pure and incorruptible diet, eating, feasting, and gathering together around food and drink — ambrosia — food so rich and abundant in elements it bequests eternal life.
 
The presence of the River of Life and the Tree of Life will forever testify throughout eternity that the Lord alone is the source of existence.
 
In Heaven, there will be no more curse on the Earth as there is now. In Romans 8:22, the apostle Paul taught that all of creation currently “groans.” He explained that the effects of sin extend beyond human behavior and impact the entire created order. The apostle stressed the anticipation of redemption and restoration from the curse, both for humanity and creation, and Revelation chapter 22 foretells the fulfillment of this stupendous hope.
 
Morris, who incidentally was not only a tremendous theologian but a Creation Scientist, wrote about this passage, saying:
 
“The agelong curse is gone. There is no more death and no more sin. The earth and its inhabitants, indeed the entire creation, are henceforth to thrive in fullest vigor forever. None will ever age, nothing will ever be lost, and all work will be productive and enduring. The entropy law, the so-called second law of thermodynamics, will be repealed. Information will never more become confused, ordered systems will not deteriorate into disorder, and no longer will energy have to be expended merely to overcome friction and dissipation into nonrecoverable heat. Entropy will from now on be conserved along with energy and mass momentum. Though ‘time’ will continue on forever, ‘time’s arrow’ will no longer be directed downward.”
 
Indeed, how can anything that materializes out of death, which is separation from life’s source, continue in the presence of the Throne of God and the Lamb? It shall be no more!
 
Furthermore, God’s servants shall serve him. Dare we think that heaven is a place of proverbial rocking chairs and ceaselessly doing nothing? In the New Jerusalem there won’t be any engagement in meaningless activities or distractions: no mindlessly scrolling on social media, no daydreaming, no procrastination, no binging on cable television shows, no long periods of playing video games to while away the boredom. Everything that’s done in heaven will be laced with constructive excitement, focus, and fulfilling purpose.
 
F. Olen Hunt Sr., author of Heaven is My Home, challenges our thinking in his book, arguing that heaven is a place of advancement and progress. Hunt contends:
 
“Heaven is not a place of idleness. God will use the talents of every arrival to their fullest ability. You cannot get all in this life; no man ever has, though millions and millions have tried; so, another life fulfills the needs, desires, and capacities of man. Heaven is a place of fulfillment, of all their holy dreams and realization of their noblest hopes. Music will be at its highest. Psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with oratorios, whole compositions, will be sung and heard at their best. The undiscovered, undeveloped, and unrealized greatness of men in time, will be at the highest perfection in heaven. Music is only one of the areas of man’s unrealized potential that will be developed to full beauty and expression. Science will be developed in eternity; it will never be exhausted in time. The heart settles with finality all that arises in the mind.
 
Heaven is a place of growth and development, as well as fulfillment, of all that man was created for, and of which sin has robbed him.”
 
In the celestial city, we can expect a well-organized administration and structure. The concept of nations and governance is suggested, consequently, individuals will have specific roles and responsibilities.
 
The New Jerusalem, a literal city of unmatched beauty where the people of God may come and go, down to the New Earth and back, perhaps to other galaxies for exploration and discovery, will be an experience of ineffable wonder. Nevertheless, each of these blessed privileges granted to the saints will only be incidentals to the pleasure of looking into the face of God.
 
To look into the face of God is to have every longing of the human heart gratified. It is to be purged of every fault and imperfection. We shall be perfect for we shall see him as he is (I John 3:2). When looking into his face, every desire shall be transformed to pursue only what is the highest, the holiest, the most noble, and true.
 
When we look at him, we shall experience the essence of unconditional love, the essence of connection and bonding, the essence of serenity and peace, the essence of completion and self-actualization, the essence of wisdom and knowledge, the essence of virtue, order, and beauty — no thirst of human yearning will go unquenched — no hunger of the inner self will go unmet — all will be satisfied by one look at him.
 
To look at him is to have his name written on our foreheads — to be thoroughly owned by him — to be gladly identified with him — to bask in the warmth and light of his presence forever more.
 
Just as the survivor of the Oklahoma Bombing found tremendous solace in the faithful return of her rescuer, so we too may find the greatest comfort in the promises of Christ’s Second Coming. It is the ultimate assurance, that despite the trials of this world, no matter how intense, an unspeakable rapturous future, one beyond our wildest imaginations, awaits those who place their trust in Christ for the forgiveness of their sins and the salvation of their souls.

Biden Administration fiscal policies have driven inflation upwards of nearly 18%, according to the February 14 Consumer Price Index. This has prompted Fox Business news and the Republican House Conference to project that “Bidenomics” is costing the average American household about $1,019 per month more than when Biden took office. Even CBS News reported back in November 2023, “The typical American household must spend an additional $11,434 annually just to maintain the same standard of living they enjoyed in January of 2021, right before inflation soared to 40-year highs, according to a recent analysis of government data.” This is not lost on the flakes and fruit loops of corporate America.
 
In a recent CNBC interview, Kellogg CEO Gary Pilnick said he believes the inflationary trend is an opportunity for people impacted by inflation to eat cereal for dinner. Pilnick, worth some $15.7 million, probably hasn’t eaten cereal for dinner since his college days if even then. He said, “The cereal category has always been quite affordable, and it tends to be a great destination when consumers are under pressure. Some of the things that we’re doing is, first, messaging. We have to reach the consumer where they are. So we’re advertising about cereal for dinner. If you think about the cost of cereal for a family versus what they might otherwise do, that’s going to be much more affordable…The price of a bowl of cereal with milk and fruit is less than a dollar.” That’s a pretty small bowl, according to today’s prices.
 
Pilnick was asked if Kellogg’s advertising cereal for dinner could be taken the wrong way. He said, “We don’t think so. In fact, it’s landing really well right now,” adding that over 25 percent of Kellogg cereal consumption is outside the breakfast occasion…and “a lot of it’s at dinner, and that occasion continues to grow.” A 15 second Kellogg ad has Tony the Tiger cheerleading a mom, dad and kids at a dinner table: “When I say cereal, you say dinner. Cereal. Dinner. Cereal. Dinner” and an animated chicken on the counter behind them says “Chicken” to which the mom looks over and proclaims, “You can have the night off Chicken.” The Chicken replies, “OK, I’ll go marinate.” The commercial ends with Tony chanting “Dinner” and the kids replying “Cereal” against a backdrop of Frosted Flakes, Fruit Loops and Frosted Mini Wheels.
 
Can anyone cite the ingredients of those cereals? Things that are totally unhealthy, even for breakfast. One serving, which is pretty small, is 24% of the daily recommendation for added sugars, and its two grams of protein don’t even register on the daily value scale. Oh, and yes, the cost of these cereals is on the rise, not to mention the cost of milk. 1 Timothy 4:3 says that in the latter times people will be speaking lies and “commanding [people] to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.” Can’t afford a real dinner like the Kellogg CEO, eat some of his cereal. ‘Can’t wait to dig in to my flakes and fruit loops…hmmm…say it with me…Stupidocrisy.

Let’s say that you found an old car at the junkyard and you started restoring it. You painstakingly researched the original colors, how the upholstery originally looked, and what kind of tires had been on it. You made sure that all the numbers matched on the engine. And when you finished working on it, the car was restored to showroom condition.
 
In the same way, when we function as the church ought to function, we’re getting back to God’s original order.
 
Ephesians 4:11–12 says, “Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ” (NLT).
 
In the original language, the word for “equip” means to put something back to its original condition. It also speaks of putting a bone back into place again.
 
The role of pastors and teachers, the role of evangelists, is to equip believers to do ministry. It is not for them to do everything for those in the body of Christ. Rather, they are to encourage believers to discover the gifts that God has placed in their lives so they can start serving Him.
 
People who serve in their churches have come to realize that God has blessed them and has done so much in their lives that they want to give back. They want to start serving the Lord with what He has given them.
 
Maybe God hasn’t called you to be a pastor, a teacher, or an evangelist. But there are many gifts that God has given to the church. When we put our faith in Christ, God gives us some of those gifts.
 
Maybe you’re not a preacher, but maybe you have the ability to help behind the scenes. There is something for everyone. And God has put gifts in your life.
 
There are a number of passages in the Bible that specifically tell us not to lack in these gifts as we wait for the Lord’s return. For instance, 1 Corinthians 1:7 says, “Now you have every spiritual gift you need as you eagerly wait for the return of our Lord Jesus Christ” (NLT).
 
And in 1 Thessalonians 5:19, we read, “Do not stifle the Holy Spirit” (NLT).
 
I would encourage you to study the Bible to see how these gifts are used (see 1 Corinthians 12–14 and Romans 12). Read through the Book of Acts. And then pray, “Lord, I ask You to show me what my gift or gifts of the Spirit are so that I might use them for Your glory.”
 
This could be a wonderful blessing for you to start giving out what God has given you. Be a part of His purpose for the church, which is the equipping of the saints for the work of the ministry. It’s time to engage and discover the gifts that God has given you—and then start using them.
