This is an amazing statement; I have great respect for this brave man, and it inspired me to tell you what I see when I look at the flag of Israel and the flag of Jerusalem (it will help you to look at a picture of the flags on the internet). When I look at the flag of Israel, I see the first coming of Jesus.
When I look at the flag of Jerusalem, I see the Second Coming of Jesus.
The above things are not a coincidence; they are reminders from God that can be found in Scripture. The Messiah came the first time as a descendent of King David (flag of Israel), and He will come the second time as the Lion of the Tribe of Judah (flag of Jerusalem). Here are recent events that may relate to Bible prophecy. One, concerning the destruction of Damascus, Syria, in one night at the end of the age (Isa. 17): on Feb. 28, 2028, it was reported that Israel struck several sites in Syria, and there were:
Two, concerning wars and rumors of wars: on Feb. 29, 2024, All Israel News reported that Hamas military leader Yahye Sinwar appears to believe his troops can hold off Israel in Rafah long enough for civilian causalities to increase to the point that international pressure will force Israel to halt the war. Have you got that? Sinwar’s plan appears to be to hide out and wait while Palestinian civilians (men, women, and children) are starving and dying because he believes the international community will eventually rescue him (and he will survive to keep stealing and killing). (More: Protests against Hamas in Gaza are beginning to grow and become more vocal. Some Gazans are complaining that Hamas political leaders are living in luxury in foreign countries while residents of Gaza are starving and dying. They believe their situation would significantly improve if Hamas would release the hostages. Some are beginning to blame Sinwar for starting the war and causing their misery.) (More: Israel thinks they have come close to capturing Sinwar several times; he knows it; he is running and constantly changing hiding places.) Three, concerning Pres. Biden’s efforts to undermine Prime Min. Netanyahu and Israel’s war with Hamas: on Mar. 1, 2024, Marc Zell, Chairman of Republicans Overseas Israel, said, “Those of us who understand what’s going on with the Biden administration said very early on that Joe Biden and all of his strong support for Israel may have been his personal view. But the people that run Joe Biden, that is the Obama folks that run the White House and Obama himself in his basement near Washington or wherever he happens to be, have a different view about Israel. They were never friendly with Israel.” Zell believes Israel needs to stay the course, not listen to the Obama folks who are running the White House, and do what is best for Israel. (More: On Mar. 1, 2024, it was reported that nine Republican Senators sent Biden a letter urging him to stop putting sanctions on Jews for violence against Palestinians. They pointed out that he is giving money to the PA who is paying the salaries of Palestinians who kill Jews, and he hasn’t put sanctions on any of them.) (More: On Mar. 2, 2024, it was reported that Benny Gantz (Politician, former Defense Min., member of Israel’s war cabinet) will soon travel to Washington to meet with Biden and others (and then go to London) without the approval of Prime Min. Netanyahu and contrary to Israeli regulations. Why? In my words, because Biden thinks Netanyahu’s government is too religious and too conservative, and it is not doing what Biden is telling it to do. Biden’s anti-Israel attitude is anti-Bible and anti-God. Based on Gen. 12:3, Biden may be putting the U.S., and/or himself, under a curse.) (More: On Mar. 4, 2024, it was reported that Biden is trying to find someone to support the Two-State solution. It was also reported that Netanyahu ordered the Israeli ambassador to Washington to boycott the meetings.) (More: On Mar. 4, 2024, Biden put sanctions on a small Israeli company that makes essential parts for Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system. Iran-backed Muslims are firing rockets into Israel every day. The IDF needs the Iron Dome to help defend Israel. But Biden has chosen to sanction the company during a war.) Four, concerning corruption and deceit in the Biden family, FBI, and media: on Feb. 28, 2024, during testimony before a Congressional committee, Hunter Biden admitted that his dad is the “big guy” mentioned in one of his e-mails, but he denied that his dad received any of the millions of dollars that he (Hunter) got from China. It is clear that a lot of people owe Tony Bobulinski an apology. For whatever it is worth, there is evidence that Hunter gave thousands of dollars to his dad, but he claims the money was repayment for a loan. (More: On Mar. 1, 2024, it was reported that Pres. Biden’s brother, James, said he repaid a loan to Pres. Biden with a check for $40,000 with money he received from a company with ties to Communist China.) Five, concerning lying, deceit, or dementia in the White House: on Feb. 28, 2024, Pres. Biden said, “Last year, the U.S. had one of the lowest rates of all violent crime in more than 50 years.” Many sources say crime has increased, especially in Democrat-run cities, but there are fewer police (due to the defund the police movement), fewer arrests, fewer prosecutions, etc., so the numbers look good, but they are no longer reliable. Six, concerning an anti-Israel attitude in the White House: the U.S. continues to criticize Israel for not doing enough to help hungry citizens in Gaza. The population of Gaza is about 2.1 to 2.2 million people, so 3 meals a day would require more than 6.3 million meals per day (perhaps less because of babies). On Mar. 2, 2024, the U.S. airlifted about 38,000 Meals Ready to Eat (MREs) into Gaza (no water, no medical supplies, etc., and Hamas probably got some of those). About 2 million hungry people got nothing from the U.S., but the next day, on Mar. 3, 2024, Vice Pres. Harris called upon Israel to do more to help them. (My opinion: It is right to sympathize with the hungry Palestinians, but world leaders and Arab nations have made this crisis worse by doing nothing about Hamas taking control of Gaza and then hindering Israel’s war effort.) Seven, concerning famine and world government: on Mar. 1, 2024, it was reported that the World Economic Forum (WEF) is demanding that governments ban citizens from growing their own food in order to save the planet from global warming. According to the WEF, home gardens produce more CO2 than traditional farming. (More: On Mar. 4, 2024, it was reported that globalists are trying to replace the world’s existing food supply with food products that they control.) (My opinion: Gaza is a picture of how the globalist population reduction and their desire to control people by controlling their food and healthcare will wind up.) Eight, concerning an economic collapse in the U.S. (which would probably trigger a global economic collapse) and famine: last week, it was reported that America’s national debt is now $34.48 trillion and rising at the rate of $1 trillion every 3 months. It was also reported that Food Stamp costs have gone up 31% in the last 3 years. (My opinion: The number of hungry people in the U.S. is increasing.) Nine, concerning an increase in the frequency and intensity of natural disasters at the end of the age: several days of unusually strong winds have spread wildfires in Texas; more than one million acres have been scorched (the most in Texas History); the loss of homes, buildings, vehicles, crops, livestock, wildlife, etc. is devastating; and in some cases, the fires are still spreading. (More: This does not include more than 30,000 acres in Oklahoma.) (More: As this was being written, on Mar. 1, 2024, forecasters were predicting 6 to 10 ft. of snow, 60 to 75 mph winds in the Sierra Nevada mountains this coming weekend, and heavy rain at lower elevations.). (More: As of Mar. 2, 2024, several feet of snow, wind gusts of 190 mph, and a tornado have already pummeled California.) Ten, concerning world government and a borderless world: Tennessee Gov. Lee asked for 100 Army National Guard soldiers to volunteer to go to the U.S.-Mexico border to help Texas defend it because our president isn’t doing it. About 400 soldiers have signed up to go. (More: On Mar. 5, 2024, the U.S. Center for Immigration Studies admitted that the Biden administration flew about 320,000 illegal immigrants from foreign airports to 43 different cities in the U.S. in 2023 to reduce the border crossing numbers. Some say this is an act of treason.) Eleven, concerning Hamas starting the Oct. 7, 2023 war because Israel has acquired red heifers, one of which may be sacrificed to qualify priests to rebuild the Temple: on Mar. 5, 2024, Yitshak Mamo, a member of one of the groups that want to rebuild the Temple said:

Whether or not the government will allow them to sacrifice a red heifer this year remains to be seen. It will happen when God is ready for it to happen, and it will be a big, big, big deal.) Omnipotent. Audacious. Those words describe God’s ability and determination to proclaim in advance His plans for mankind. His willingness to put Himself on the line by foretelling what will happen in the future is unique to the true and living God. No other supposed god makes declarative predictions—and for good reason. Prophecy is not only a unique feature of the Bible, but also a validating aspect of all it contains. But perhaps we should step back and define these terms. Forthtelling and Foretelling Biblical prophecy can be defined as the forthtelling of truth or foretelling of what is to come. Prophecies are revealed by God through a human prophet as divine warnings, instructions, expectations, or exhortations. Always, the prophet and the prophecy point to and glorify God. Prophecy that foretells future events (whether already realized or yet to be fulfilled) makes up 28-32% of the Bible. Even that variance is based on whether you count verses, chapters, or books. But it is evident to anyone who reads the text that a sizable portion of Scripture pertains to people, circumstances, and events well before their appearance in human history. For the past couple of years, I’ve emphasized that all of God’s Word is prophetic if you include the portion that forthtells truth. From beginning to end, the Bible reveals God’s truth. Although there was no human eyewitness to the Creation, God revealed His precise sequence of events “in the beginning.” Every declarative statement made by God—whether attributed to Him as a direct quotation or recorded by the authors of Scripture as the Holy Spirit inspired them—contains the Truth He wants us to comprehend. Some prophets specialized in forthtelling truth. When the prophet Nathan approached King David and described the covetous offense of a rich man, David was rightfully indignant. But the prophet quickly delivered God’s ultimatum on David’s grievous sin: “You are the man!” (2 Samuel 12:7). That forthtold truth cut David to the core and he immediately recognized his sin. Sadly, the only foretold truth in that encounter was Nathan’s foretelling that David and Bathsheba’s child would die. The phrase, “Thus saith the Lord,” is found over 1900 times in the Bible. It is as if God wants to be very clear that He is the Author of Scripture. That is why we call the Bible the Word of God. It is also why Satan has been determined to undermine God’s credibility in the eyes of the creatures made in His image since the beginning. Did God Really Say? When God created the heavens and the earth and placed man and woman on the earth to subdue and rule over it (Genesis 1:28), He made only one stipulation: do not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Long before there were ten commandments, there was only one boundary for man to observe. Scripture does not tell us how long Adam and Eve enjoyed the good earth as they cultivated and kept the Garden of Eden. But Genesis 3 records that, in short order, Satan came in the form of a serpent to question God’s clear directive. He first asked, “Indeed, has God said, ‘You shall not eat from any tree of the garden?’ ” By purposely jumbling God’s instruction, Satan intended to subtly plant doubt and suggest that God’s prohibition was too extreme. When Eve then responded with her own mistaken rendering of God’s command, Satan directly contradicted God by declaring, “You will not die!” Jesus said of the devil, “he was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies” (John 8:44). In the 21st Century after Christ, we can attest to the millennia of lies perpetrated by the devil and countless hapless people fooled into disbelieving God. Sadly, today there are many who claim to follow Christ but deny the reality of Bible prophecy—or at least minimize its relevance and power. Or, through willful ignorance they simply discount Bible prophecy altogether. Regarding God’s prophetic Word, if Satan were to ask, “Did God really say?” they would essentially respond, “I don’t know, and I really don’t care.” Others who do know the prophetic Word of God have become scoffers. Fulfilling Peter’s prophecy, they are now mockers who say, “Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation” (2 Peter 3:3-4). Peter said the last days would be marked by this kind of mocking. Sadly, he was speaking of mockers who are fully aware of Jesus’ promised return and His account of creation—in other words, professing Christians. Words to Inform, Inspire, and Exhort It may sound harsh to describe the attitude of those who ignore or minimize Bible prophecy so callously. But imagine if your spouse wrote you a letter and purposed to tell you their deepest thoughts and most far-reaching plans. Who in their right mind would say to themselves: “I’ll read the parts of their letter that describe the weather and their daily activity, but I have no interest in their plans for the future”? Why does God reveal Himself and His plans to us, His creatures? Because He wants us to know what He chooses to reveal. Amos recorded, “Surely the Lord GOD does nothing unless He reveals His secret counsel to His servants the prophets” (Amos 3:7, NASB). That is not to say that God tells us everything that only His infinite mind can know or comprehend. Moses spoke truly when he said, “The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and our sons forever…” (Deuteronomy 29:29). To some, that selective revelation is off-putting and leaves them unwilling to believe God. I’ve come to realize that God’s great goodness keeps Him from revealing many things to us. For one, our limited minds could not contain or comprehend the mind of God. For another, too much knowledge would prove destructive to us—just as it did to Adam and Eve. And, finally, as any one who has been exposed to any top-secret information knows, some information should only be shared on a “need-to-know” basis. God has revealed what He wants us to know (and what we need to know) to inform, inspire, and exhort us. But He is neither obligated nor inclined to reveal more than we can comprehend. Judges 13 offers a wonderful example of this. The angel of the LORD appeared to Manoah and his wife to prophesy that they would have a son. In a great messianic foreshadowing, the angel’s only response to an inquiry about His identity was, “I am” (Judges 13:11). When pressed for His actual name, the angel responded, “Why do you ask my name, seeing it is wonderful?” (Judges 13:18). Manoah later realized that during his interaction with the angel he had “seen God.” Many believe that the angel was Jesus in pre-incarnate form. He declined to reveal His name to Manoah and his wife because it was not yet time to do so. So, although we can become impatient to know what has yet to be revealed, we should rejoice that many things have been unveiled for us already. For instance, we can call Jesus by His name and praise Him for His finished work of salvation. Peter wrote, “As to this salvation, the prophets who prophesied of the grace that would come to you made careful searches and inquiries, seeking to know what person or time the Spirit of Christ within them was indicated as He predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories to follow” (1 Peter 1:10-11). We have the blessing and advantage of hindsight, whereas they gazed forward as through a glass dimly. And yet, even now we know in part, and live anticipating the fulfillment of “the grace to be brought to [us] at the revelation of Jesus Christ” (1 Peter 1:13). God of Space and Time Although we are confined to time and limited in our knowledge, God is not. He is the God of space and time—a truth clearly demonstrated even in Jesus’ first miracle. Faced with the unique and personal crisis of a shortage of wine in Cana, Jesus’ Jewish mama encouraged Him to assist the host of the wedding. Reluctant to reveal His power because His hour had not yet come, Jesus honored His mother’s request (John 2:1-11). With no fanfare and no personal effort or intervention, He miraculously changed water into wine. This relatively mundane beginning to His signs and miracles established His power over the material universe (because water does not naturally transform into wine), time (because the conversion of grape juice into wine is not instantaneous), and space (because He knew the wine was ready without physically interacting with the water pots). Following His resurrection, Jesus had a physical body and could eat and fellowship with His disciples (Luke 24:38-43). Yet He also demonstrated His ability to pass through locked doors (John 20:19 and 26), vanish in an instant (Luke 24:31), and ascend into the heavens and out of sight (Acts 1:9). Perhaps we will enjoy these same abilities in our glorified bodies! Because God exists outside of space and time, He can gaze down upon our universe and into time as we know it without constraints. And while He chose to enter the world in human form at an appointed moment in human time, He can also see from everlasting to everlasting. That gives Him a unique perspective. God’s Eye View The challenge of foreseeing the future has intrigued mankind throughout history. But we are only able to experience time in a linear fashion. We have some recollection of the past, but no awareness of the future. Traveling down the highway presents a fitting analogy. We are able to look into our rearview mirror and see a limited distance behind us. If the weather is clear, we can see a limited distance ahead. But, unless we have a modern app in our car or on our phone, we have no way of knowing what lies beyond the next turn. We are inevitably surprised when we come over a hill and find ourselves in a miles-long traffic jam. But, as a pilot, I can soar above the earth and see many miles ahead of drivers just below me. In fact, from 30-40,000 feet, I can see well over a hundred miles in every direction. I know what awaits oblivious drivers around the next turn and an hour ahead. Pilots call this a “God’s-eye view,” not out of disrespect but because they recognize that God’s perspective is far beyond that of humans confined to the earth. God’s ability to see far beyond the horizons of our time is very much the same. Unconstrained by our linear timeline, He sees behind and ahead of us with equal clarity. From His infinite perspective, the beginning and the end are just as clear as the here and now. That is why He can proclaim, “I am God, and there is no one like Me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things which have not been done, saying, ‘My purpose will be established, and I will accomplish all My good pleasure’ ” (Isaiah 46:9-10). The Purpose of Prophecy I made the claim that Bible prophecy is meant to offer divine warning, instruction, expectation, or exhortation, but that in every case, the prophet and prophecy points to and glorifies God. The “fellow servant” John encountered in his vision of heaven explained that “the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy” (Revelation 19:10). Peter reminds us that “no prophecy was ever made by the will of man, but men being moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God” (2 Peter 1:21). So, again, prophecies are revealed by God, to the people of God, and for the purpose of God. As we witness the dissolution of our society and the convergence of signs pointing to the End Times, the value of Bible prophecy is proven day after day. Satan is still whispering, “Did God really say?” Scoffers are still mocking, “Where is the promise of His coming?” Certainly, in this world, our troubles are multiplying. All that the Lord has revealed to us affirms the revelation Jesus shared with His disciples: “These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). The “little-t” tribulation or trouble we have in the world is external, while the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, [guards our] hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Bible prophecy assures us that God is in control, that He works all things together for His glory and our good (Romans 8:28), and that Jesus will rescue His children from the wrath to come (1 Thessalonians 1:10). What Will You Do with God’s Prophetic Word? Pilate asked a rhetorical question of the mob gathered around his palace in Jerusalem: “What shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?” (Matthew 27:22). Their answer demonstrated the hardness of their heart and their rejection of the Lord: “Crucify Him!” Today, God’s Word presents a challenge to all who claim to follow Him. What will you do with the prophetic Word that He has revealed for your instruction and exhortation and His glory? Will you disregard it, discount it, and ignore it? Or, will you believe it, study it, and obey it? The choice is yours, but the blessing is only for those who “read and heed it,” as described in Revelation 1:3 and 22:7. His beauty, according to his own words, seemed to be something that morphed into pride wrapped within the iniquity that was found in him. This magnificent creature convinced himself, like in the lie with which he deceived Eve, that he could become as God. Lucifer, now known as the serpent, the devil, and Satan, has, since embracing iniquity, tried to achieve those words he spoke while looking into that iniquitous mirror. “For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High” (Isaiah 14:13-14). Lucifer the fallen now tries in every way to usurp God’s Throne. His desire to be God has apparently only grown, not diminished, over the eons. He tries to exert power and authority over God’s Creation –especially God’s creation called man. For most of humanity, his wicked machinations have worked. He is now in the process of convincing mankind that God’s Order is to be thrown out and replaced with man’s own governance, which is in reality Lucifer the fallen one’s governance. There aren’t two genders, but many. Men can come together with other men in sexual activity, and women with women. Mankind should, through climate change fanaticism, worship Mother Earth –i.e., should worship the creation rather than the Creator. It is okay for mankind, even parents, to change the sex of their children through mutilation and drug therapies. And many, even within the nation’s judicial systems, view pedophiles now as only Minor Attracted Persons who shouldn’t be punished for their pedophilia. Lucifer’s drive to be God-like can never accomplish his goal. Still, he rages forward in the attempt. His reprobate insanity will eventuate in his ultimate imitation of Heaven’s Trinity when the unholy trinity comes together during the Tribulation. Satan, Antichrist, and the false prophet will mimic the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit at that time. Yet Lucifer the fallen comes far short of the God-like Power he covets. That is, he is neither Omniscient, Omnipotent, nor Omnipresent. A close, long-time friend this past week sent me an article that sparked a profound realization. I attempt here to relate this epiphany my friend stimulated upon our back and forth in email. This thing that has suddenly appeared and is growing in geometric progression termed AI (Artificial Intelligence) seems destined to, at some future point, give the unholy trinity their own evil imitation of God’s Omniscience, Omnipotence, and Omnipresence. The article my friend sent gives a hint of the potential for developing AI into technology that will likely make the unholy trinity when they appear seem to be all-knowing, all-powerful, and always present everywhere at the same time. My friend’s email comment to me: Here is a tweet written by a current Google customer, commenting at length on the nature of the Gemini (Google AI) tool. I think AI will lend the Antichrist the semblance of omnipresence, omniscience, and omnipotence as well. AI has an uncanny ability to predict future behavior based on past behavior. While the Antichrist may not be able to see everything, he can likely make educated guesses where to look and what and who to control based on the odds. God expects much of men, and from what I can observe, many men have shirked their duties. Many men don’t even want marriage. They don’t mind living with a woman but don’t want the responsibility of being a husband and don’t respect the woman enough to make a commitment to her. Shame on a woman who accepts this arrangement. It’s bad enough in the secular world, but it has no place in the Christian world. “Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge” (Hebrews 13:4).. Scripture shows us that God has given men the responsibility of leadership in life. From Adam, who was created first and given God’s instructions to not eat the forbidden fruit, and throughout the New Testament, we see that men fight the battles and lead the people. Women are also used to further God’s purposes. We can look at Deborah and see that God used her in a great way, but she didn’t act on her own. She was a prophetess and a judge in Israel. When it was time for battle, it was Barak who led the battle, but he would only go if Deborah was with him. The battle was won, and Deborah sang a song of praise to the Lord. Deborah was happy to have served the Lord, but she never forgot she was a mother. “The inhabitants of the villages ceased, they ceased in Israel, until that I Deborah arose, that I arose a mother in Israel” (Judges 5:7). Also, we can see that Esther was the only person who could approach the king, at great risk to her own life, and save the Jewish people from being killed. We need women who are willing to stand strong for God, but we also need more men like Joshua, who led the Israelites in the battle to conquer the Promised Land and know that their strength is in God. His words to Israel should be heeded by men today. “Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD. And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD” (Joshua 24:14-15). Joshua is a good example of a man who rose to the task God set before him. Men of God, arise! Put away secular pursuits and all false gods and idols. Serve the King of kings. RISE UP, O MEN OF GOD! Are you a man of God? By that, I’m asking, is there anything in your life that you put equal to or above God? Jesus said, “And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment” (Mark 12:30). There are many things in everyday life that can stop you from putting Christ first. Sports is usually something men enjoy. That’s not a sin, but if watching sports becomes more important than serving God, then you need to remember that you are a man of God, not a man of the NFL or the MLB or any other sports league that can take over your time. What about clubs and lodges? Is it easier for you to try to get others to join the Lion’s Club than to give their life to Christ? That’s a problem. If it’s more important to memorize the rules of your club than it is to memorize and share Scripture, then you need to reevaluate your priorities. My father was a member of lodges, clubs, and civic organizations. He never missed a meeting. I don’t remember ever seeing him open the Bible, but he knew everything about the organizations of which he was a member. Yet, he claimed to be a Christian. When I was a child, I didn’t think twice about that, but looking back, it bothers me. My husband was also concerned about this. Ron had a long talk with my father about Jesus and came away with the feeling that my dad did know Jesus. It’s too bad the evidence of a Christ-filled life didn’t shine in my father. Man of God, don’t leave doubt in anyone’s mind as to your faith in God. Don’t leave any doubt in your own mind about your faith in God. Serve the King of kings openly and with your whole heart, soul, and strength. Have done with lesser things. Rise up, O men of God! His kingdom tarries long; As faithful workmen, watch and pray And light the night of wrong. It has been 2,000 years since Jesus walked this earth. He said that the Kingdom of God was at hand. “And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel” (Mark 1:15). One day soon, everyone will know it. It only seems to human understanding that it’s taking a long time for Scripture to be fulfilled. “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9). Men of God, rise up! Rise up and stand firm upon God’s truth. Because of your silence, public schools are a festering boil in society. Children can’t read or speak proper English or learn cursive handwriting but are taught that it’s acceptable to be a cat or a dog. Because of your silence, children are taught the lie of evolution instead of God’s truth. Because of your silence, your children are taught to accept that in spite of biology, if a boy thinks he’s a girl, then he’s a girl, and that it’s OK for there to be two mothers in the household. What a wicked world! God won’t put up with it much longer, and His judgment will be devastating. Read about the judgment on Sodom and Gomorrah, and read Romans chapter 1 to understand how God feels about homosexuality. It’s time for men of God to start praying and stop this madness. “But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!” (Matthew 6:23). The darkness of this world has no place in a Christian’s life. Jesus is the Light of the World, but Christians are allowing the dark light of Satan to lead. Men of God, arise! Rise up, O men of God! The church for you doth wait – Your strength unequal to the task, But Christ in you is great! Men of God, arise! Take up your rightful place in leadership. Women have an important place in God’s creation, but it’s the men whom God has given the task of leadership. This is seen throughout Scripture. You are the leaders in your family. You are the leaders in congregations. It is by Christ’s strength that you lead your children to a firm faith in Christ. It is by Christ’s strength that you can lead your wife to be a Godly woman who doesn’t feel the need to usurp authority. Your marriage is a picture of Christ and His church. “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it” (Ephesians 5:25). You need to be a man of God who honors Christ in all you do. In that way, your wife will submit to your authority. That doesn’t mean that you rule with an iron fist but that you love her as Christ loves His church. Lift high the cross of Christ; Tread where His feet have trod; As brothers of the Son of man, Rise up, O men of God! “If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour” (John 12:26). Keep your eyes and heart on the cross of Christ. Remember, Christ is no longer on the cross. All sin was nailed to the cross, and only His love held Jesus there. “And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross” (Colossians 2:14). Jesus was crucified. He bled and died on the cross. He was taken off the cross and sealed in a tomb. On the third day, He arose! The cross is empty, and the tomb is empty! Sin was forgiven, and death was conquered. Repent now and accept His sacrifice for sin. Rise up, O men of God! Let this truth guide your life, and let His truth always be upon your lips. Praise Him with all your heart, soul, and spirit. Have done with lesser things. Men of God, arise! Don’t let the world and the sin found there hinder your walk with the Lord. I had missed a service and tuned in online. The pastor, who I highly regarded, preached a sermon about tithing. He essentially guilted the people about the money it takes to maintain the building, the church programs, and the costs of running the congregation. And I thought to myself, “is this what church is about.” Absent were references of the gathering together of the believers in heartfelt worship, he said, instead it was all about money and costs. He said he felt an emptiness in his heart. He asked if he was wrong. So often this is what church has become—a business. This is antithetical to God’s intentions. Let us seek clarity. In Exodus 35-38:20, Moses assembled the people together. Vayakhel is Hebrew for “He Assembled.” Moses begins by teaching the people Torah, and first up is observing Shabbat, a day of complete rest, including the restriction to not build a fire on the Sabbath. In Mark 2:27-28, Jesus said, “The sabbath was made for man and not man for the sabbath. Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.” Jesus, as the Lord of the Sabbath, means that He is God in human form, and that He created the Sabbath. The Sabbath day points to the spiritual rest we all have in Messiah, as he said in Matthew 11:28: “Come to Me, all you who are struggling and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Moses then told the people that the LORD was calling for free will offerings of materials for the building of the Tabernacle. This was a partnership between God and His people to make a sacred place for Him to dwell in their midst. What transformed the Israelites wasn’t just what God did for them, but what they did for God. The Tabernacle, or in Hebrew the Mishkan, was symbolic of “God with us,” the basic meaning behind the word Mishkan, which means “to dwell.” Later, during the time of Solomon, the Tabernacle was replaced by the Temple. The ultimate gathering place for people to meet with and worship God in Jerusalem. Hebrews 8:5 tells us the earthly Tabernacle/Temple was an “example and shadow of heavenly things.” Revelation 1:20 alludes to elements like the lamp stands (Menorah) as metaphors for the earthly churches, and Christ is seen as the priest maintaining the lights of the seven “churches” including us as lights to others, just as priests of the Tabernacle/Temple did the Menorah (1:13). In Revelation 11:19, John announces that “the Temple of God in Heaven was opened, and the Ark of the Covenant was seen in his Temple.” Revelation 21:3 says, “See! God’s Sh’khinah (glory) is with mankind, and he will live with them. They will be His people, and he himself will be their God.” This is the ultimate fulfillment of the Vayakhel. You see, church is not a business. It is the gathering together with the LORD first and foremost; the sabbath day in the Lord’s rest, our heartfelt worship to be about the LORD’s business. He is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Yet, it’s difficult for many of us to grasp such a concept because there’s no real parallel we can point to. Whatever analogy we try to use ultimately breaks down. For the most part, we can wrap our minds around the idea of God the Father and God the Son. However, God the Holy Spirit is a little tough for us. Yet the Bible teaches that the Holy Spirit has a distinct personality. In fact, Jesus spoke of the Holy Spirit as a He, not as an it. For example, in John 16:8, Jesus said of the Holy Spirit, “And when he comes, he will convict the world of its sin, and of God’s righteousness, and of the coming judgment” (NLT). This is evidenced by the fact that we are capable of quenching, resisting, blaspheming, lying to, and grieving the Holy Spirit. One of the various ways we can grieve the Holy Spirit is by acting out in unjustified anger. The apostle Paul warned the Christians in Ephesus, “And ‘don’t sin by letting anger control you’ ” (Ephesians 4:26 NLT). There is a difference between unjustified anger and righteous indignation. Jesus, for instance, showed anger. But let’s not misunderstand. When God is angry, His anger is not like ours. When we are upset, we might throw a tantrum. Can you imagine God doing that? I’m so glad that God doesn’t give in to the same things that we would. He isn’t capable of it. It isn’t in His nature. So, when God does show anger, His anger is always righteous. It is there for a purpose. Jesus felt anger toward the Pharisees who misrepresented God to the people. He was angry with the money changers in the temple, so he overturned their tables and drove them out using a whip. Of course, there are things we should be righteously indignant about as well. We should be angry when we see our country in a downward spiral, both morally and spiritually. And we should be angry enough to vote for the right policies and the right candidates. We should be angry when we see too much compromise in the church, thus making our witness ineffective. And we should be angry when we see marriages and families falling apart. This is what we would call righteous indignation. But then there is unjustified anger in which we lose our temper, say something unkind, or do things that are outright wrong. And when we sin in anger, we need to apologize to the person or people we have offended. Paul went on to say, “Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry” (verse 26 NLT). If you’re married, you should never go to bed when you’re angry with your husband or wife because you don’t want that anger to turn into bitterness. We need to learn how to disagree—even argue—and then forgive.
