A Preview of The Future That God Has Planned for Us – By Dr. Robert Jeffress - https://harbingersdaily.com/in-depth-a-preview-of-the-future-that-god-has-planned-for-us/ The theme of the book of Revelation is this: The end of your life as you know it is coming soon. That end will come either through your death or through the return of Jesus Christ, but your life is about to undergo a big change. And the knowledge that your life is going to end should affect how you live right now. What is the future that God has planned for us? Many Christians get confused about the end times. Let’s simplify the subject of Bible prophecy by looking at a preview of God’s plan. The Church Age The first event in Bible prophecy is the Church Age. The Church Age is the period from Pentecost until the Rapture during which Gentiles are invited to participate in the blessings of the Abrahamic Covenant. God issued an invitation to Abraham and his descendants, the Jews, to be in a covenant relationship with Him. But Israel temporarily rejected that invitation when they rejected Christ. So God extended His invitation to include non-Jews, that we might be saved. This is the period we are living in right now, when God has temporarily set aside Israel and has invited everybody to be part of His covenant blessing. Make no mistake: God is not finished with Israel. In Romans 11:1, 25, Paul said, “God has not rejected His people, has He? May it never be!… A partial hardening has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.” When the Church Age ends, God will finish His dealings with Israel. The Rapture of the Church The Church Age will end at the Rapture of the Church. The Rapture is the snatching away to Heaven of all Christians before the Tribulation begins. Paul described it in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17: “The Lord Himself will descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord.” There are four elements of the Rapture: First of all, the Lord will descend from Heaven. He descends into the air, not to the ground. Second, the dead in Christ will be raised. Who are the dead in Christ? It’s every believer who has died since Pentecost. When Christians die, our bodies remain on earth but our spirits go to be with the Lord. Paul said, “To be absent from the body [is] to be at home with the Lord” (2 Corinthians 5:8). But our bodies won’t stay on earth forever. At the Rapture, the graves will be opened and the bodies of the saved will be raised. Third, Christian who are alive at that time will meet the Lord in the air. There will be a generation of Christians who never experience death; they will be caught up to meet the Lord. Fourth, our bodies will be changed from mortal to immortal. Paul said, “This mortal [body] must put on immortality” (1 Corinthians 15:53). Your body may be suited for this world, but it’s not suited for the next world. At the Rapture, we will receive brand-new bodies from God that are free from pain, suffering, and sickness. The Rapture is the next event on God’s prophetic timeline. There are no prophecies that have to be fulfilled prior to the Rapture. It could happen at any moment. The Tribulation The Rapture of the Church will be followed by the Tribulation. The Tribulation is a seven-year period that will begin when the world leader known as the Antichrist signs a peace covenant with Israel, and it will end with the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. This is the final seven years of earth’s history. There are two purposes for the Tribulation. First, it will be a time of salvation for Jews and Gentiles. Many people will be saved, Jews and Gentiles alike, during these final seven years. It’s a sign of God’s mercy. He wants to save as many people as possible. Second, it will be a time of condemnation of unbelievers. Armageddon and the Second Coming of Christ The Tribulation will be followed by the Second Coming of Christ. This is the visible return of Jesus Christ to establish His kingdom on the earth. At the end of the seven-year Tribulation, all the world forces will assemble on the plain of Megiddo in Israel to wage war and overthrow the Antichrist. This final world conflict is called the Battle of Armageddon. As the world forces are fighting the Antichrist, suddenly the heavens will part and the Lord Jesus will appear. Revelation 19:11-16 says: “And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, King Of Kings, And Lord Of Lords.” The Second Coming is different from the Rapture. In the Rapture, only believers will see the Lord; at the Second Coming, everybody will see Him. At the Rapture, Christians will meet the Lord in the air; at the Second Coming, His feet will touch the ground. This is the visible return of Jesus Christ. The Millennium The Second Coming of Christ is followed by the Millennium. The Millennium is a thousand-year period during which Christ will reign on the earth. This is the time when God will fulfill His promise to Abraham in Genesis 12:1-3 of a land, seed, and blessing where Messiah will rule on the throne of David from Jerusalem. Revelation 20:1–3 says: “And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.” With Satan bound for a thousand years, part of the curse of sin will be removed, but not all of it. This is the time Isaiah 65 describes, when people will live to be at least one hundred and won’t have difficulty with thorns and thistles. It is a renovation, not a recreation of the earth. Satan Released and the Final Rebellion At the end of these thousand years, Satan will be released for a little while. Why would God let him go? Here’s why: Only believers enter the Millennium. You and I will enter the Millennium in the new, resurrected bodies we received at the Rapture. Resurrected bodies don’t reproduce, but natural bodies do. People who are saved [and were not killed] during the Tribulation will enter the Millennium in their natural bodies. That means they will be able to have children. It is important that every person be given a choice whether to follow Jesus. So God will loose Satan for a short time; and amazingly some children who were born and grew up during the Millennium will choose to follow Satan instead of Jesus. That is the final rebellion. The Great White Throne Judgment God puts an end to this rebellion at the Great White Throne Judgment. This is God’s final judgment against all unbelievers who have ever lived. Revelation 20:13 says, “The sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead which were in them; and they were judged, every one of them according to their deeds.” When unbelievers die, their spirits go to Hades. Jesus talked about it in the parable of Lazarus and the rich man. The rich man died and went to Hades, and he said, “I am in agony in this flame” (Luke 16:24). Hades is a place of intense suffering for the unsaved until their final judgment. At the Great White Throne Judgment, unbelievers will be judged by their works. Revelation 20:13 says, “They were judged every one of them according to their deeds.” Why are they judged by their works? Unbelievers say, “I don’t need the forgiveness of Jesus Christ; I’m good enough to get into Heaven.” So God says to them, “Fine. I’ll judge you by your works.” Unfortunately, the standard by which God judges is the perfection of Jesus Christ. And by that standard, “all fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). The result of this judgment is eternal condemnation. Revelation 20:14-15 says, “death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” Unbelievers are not destroyed when they are judged; they suffer forever and ever. The horrible truth about Hell is this: When you have spent three trillion years in the agony of Hell, you will not have reduced by one second the amount of time you have left. That is the fate of everyone who dies without trusting in the forgiveness of Jesus Christ. Eternity Future After the Great White Throne Judgment, we enter eternity future. This is the permanent state of believers inhabiting the new Heaven and Earth, and unbelievers inhabiting the Lake of Fire. In 2 Peter 3:7 and 10, Peter explained the present Heaven and earth will be destroyed by fire. John said in Revelation 21:1, “I saw a new Heaven and a new earth; for the first Heaven and the first earth passed away.” We’re not going to spend eternity floating around someplace. The earth will be recreated to the state God originally intended it to be. In the New Earth, God will “wipe away every tear from [our] eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away” (v. 4). That is the future God has planned for those who know Jesus Christ. Are You Ready? How should that affect how we live today? One day, the Bible says, the trumpet will sound, the heavens will part, and we will see the King of kings and Lord of lords. When that happens, tragically, many Christians will be embarrassed by their lives. They will be clothed in immorality, greed, and personal ambition instead of being clothed in the righteous acts of the saints. Let me ask you this: when you meet God face to face, either through your death or through the Rapture, will you be embarrassed about the life you have lived up to this point? If so, now is the time to make those changes that will ensure you are ready on your coming appointment with God. That’s why Peter wrote in 2 Peter 3:11-12, “Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God…” Red Rust On The Moon, Red Heifers In Israel, And A Red Horse That Is Preparing To Ride - by Michael Snyder - https://endoftheamericandream.com/red-rust-on-the-moon-red-heifers-in-israel-and-a-red-horse-that-is-preparing-to-ride/ What does the color red mean to you? Today, I was thinking about several recent news stories that are related to Bible prophecy, and I realized that they all had something to do with the color red. So I asked Google what the color red symbolizes, and I was sent to a Wikipedia article that explains that red “is the color of blood” and that it “has historically been associated with sacrifice, danger, and courage”. In addition, the color red is often used to convey some sort of a warning. Just imagine what it would be like if all stop signs were colored yellow. That wouldn’t work nearly as well. The reason why stop signs are red is because the color red gets your attention. Recently, one of my friends shared a story with me that really got my attention. According to NASA, large amounts of red rust have been discovered on the surface of the moon… While our Moon is airless, research indicates the presence of hematite, a form of rust that normally requires oxygen and water. That has scientists puzzled. Mars has long been known for its rust. Iron on its surface, combined with water and oxygen from the ancient past, give the Red Planet its hue. But scientists were recently surprised to find evidence that our airless Moon has rust on it as well. This completely shocked the scientists that discovered it. The following comes from CNN… “At first, I totally didn’t believe it. It shouldn’t exist based on the conditions present on the Moon,” said Abigail Fraeman, a scientist at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, in a press release. Not only is there no air on the moon, but it is flooded with hydrogen that flows from the sun, carried by solar wind. Rust is produced when oxygen removes electrons from iron; hydrogen does the opposite by adding electrons, which means it’s all the harder for rust to form on the hydrogen-rich moon. “It’s very puzzling,” said Shuai Li of the University of Hawaii, the lead author of the study, which was published on Wednesday in the journal Science Advances. “The Moon is a terrible environment for hematite to form in.” Will the Moon eventually appear red in the sky just like the planet Mars does? I don’t know. But in recent days lots of people have been buzzing about this on social media. Meanwhile, there is a tremendous amount of speculation that a red heifer ceremony could soon be conducted in Israel. In September 2022, I wrote about five red heifers that had been transported to the land of Israel from the state of Texas. Those red heifers are still alive, and earlier this month CBS News published a story about them… When Hamas spokesman Abu Ubaida began a speech marking the 100th day of the war in Gaza, one confounding yet eye-opening proclamation escaped the headlines. Listing the motives for the Palestinian militant group’s Oct. 7 massacre in Israel, he accused Jews of “bringing red cows” to the Holy Land. The cows he was talking about are red heifers, which now graze at a secure, undisclosed location in the Israeli-occupied West Bank. Some Jews and Christians believe they’re key to rebuilding the Jewish temple that once stood in Jerusalem, and to beckoning the Messiah. A man named Yitshak Mamo has been heavily involved in the red heifer project, and he told CBS News that these red heifers are being closely watched to see if they develop any white or black hairs… Instrumental in bringing the heifers to the Holy Land was Yitshak Mamo, of Uvne Jerusalem, a group committed to seeing a new temple built in Jerusalem’s Old City. “You can check to see if they have any white or black hairs,” he told CBS News, explaining that any hair that isn’t red would disqualify the cows from fulfilling their prophesied role. There have been reports that one of the original five red heifers has been disqualified but that the other four are still perfect. So will one of those remaining four heifers soon be sacrificed? They need to be used before they are too old, and so the clock is ticking. And it has been reported that “a practice run of the purification ceremony” was conducted last year… Just two weeks ago, near the site of the biblical Shiloh, where the Tabernacle was kept during the time of the judges, a group of Jews descended from the tribe of Levi and the priestly families, enacted a practice run of the purification ceremony. The event occurred at a site called “Ancient Shiloh” affiliated with the Temple Institute, and contained explanations of the priestly functions, including sacrifice. The event also featured a “Temple banquet” containing foods from the Second Temple and biblical periods. The highlight of the event was the presentation of one of the five red heifers. There have been rumblings that an official purification ceremony could be conducted at some point this year. When asked about this by CBS News, Mamo indicated that one may happen soon… Back at his settlement in the West Bank, Mamo told CBS News the heifers need only pass a final purity test. The ceremony that he hopes will resurrect the temple and usher in the Messiah could take place any day. He said he understands why Hamas could be outraged. We shall see. If it does happen, it could cause tensions in the region to escalate greatly. Of course the truth is that the Middle East is already on the brink of all-out war. According to Zero Hedge, Israel has been feverishly making preparations for an invasion of southern Lebanon… Israel has continued signaling that it is preparing to launch a major new operation against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon following months of tit-for-tat escalation. Some 80,000 Israeli residents whose homes are near the border have remained evacuated since October and November, and are essentially internally displaced. Because of this, pressure has mounted on Israeli leaders to do something that would allow their return, and ensure the security of Israel’s north. Israeli media, particularly YNet News reported on Sunday that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) is preparing “contingency plans” for a wide-scale attack on Lebanon. Israeli Army Northern Command head Major General Ori Gordin in a meeting with settler leaders from northern Israel stated, “We are preparing contingency plans to launch an attack in Lebanon. Our commitment, mine, is to change the security situation so that the residents can be returned home.” YNet further unveiled plans to initiate the army’s “Operation Steady Anchor” which aims to protect civilians during the expected escalation in fighting. Hezbollah is widely estimated to possess over 150,000 rockets – some of which can likely reach Haifa and Tel Aviv. The Israelis are absolutely determined to push Hezbollah north of the Litani River, and Hezbollah will never go willingly. So there will be war. On Tuesday, Hezbollah fired approximately 100 rockets into Israel after the IDF stuck targets deep inside Lebanon… Hezbollah fired over 100 rockets on Israel on Tuesday, while the IDF struck multiple strategic targets of the terror group around 100 kilometers deep into Lebanon in one of the most tense days of the conflict in the North. Alarms sounded in the Galilee and the Golan Heights. The first round of rockets contained around 30 rockets, and the second round contained around 70. Rocket crashes were reportedly sighted in open areas near Ein Kuniya, Snir, Sha’ar Yashuv, and Kfar Szold. Hezbollah said it fired these Katyusha rockets in response to Israeli bombardment deep into Lebanon in the Bekaa region Monday night. There is going to be so much death and destruction in the Middle East during the months ahead, and this war will ultimately become one of the conflicts that defines World War III. The U.S. and Russia are rapidly approaching a point of no return as well, and this week Vladimir Putin warned that his nation is ready for nuclear war… Vladimir Putin today declared his readiness for nuclear war should the US deploy troops to Ukraine as Moscow’s fight against Kyiv rages on. ‘From a military-technical point of view, we are, of course, ready,’ the 71-year-old dictator declared in an interview with state-controlled Rossiya-1 television. In unsettling comments, he reminded the state-controlled channel that Russia’s nuclear doctrine permitted use of nuclear weapons in the event of a perceived threat to national security. ‘Weapons exist in order to use them,’ he declared. ‘We have our own principles.’ As I detail in my latest book, the Russians have developed extremely impressive weapons systems that the U.S. cannot match. We are so close to the unthinkable, but most Americans are completely and utterly clueless about what is really going on. Most of them assume that our leaders have everything under control and that there is no risk of nuclear war. But over in Russia, there is constant talk about the possibility of nuclear war on their news programs. There are no winners in a nuclear war, but the Russians understand that whoever fires first will have the best chance of surviving one. If our leaders push the Russians too far, they will press the button, and at that point there will be no turning back for any of us. It appears that these two eclipses mark a giant “X marks the spot” on America. What does this mean? What might the God of Israel be saying to America? The Bible tells us that God uses the sun, moon, and stars for “signs and seasons”: Then God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years… Genesis 1:14 In Bible prophecy, events with the sun represent God’s dealings with gentile nations, and events with the moon represent God’s dealings with Israel. In 2017, the eclipse crossed over seven cities named Salem in America – a warning to America concerning Jerusalem. The second eclipse will cross over seven cities named Nineveh in America: -Nineveh, Texas -Nineveh, Missouri -Nineveh, Indiana -Nineveh, Ohio -Nineveh, Pennsylvania -Nineveh, Virginia -Nineveh, New York What IS the warning to America? Is God’s judgment coming? What does America need to repent of? To decode this warning sign, we need to turn to the book of Jonah to understand Jonah’s message to ancient Nineveh. Jonah was spewed out by the great fish and he washed up on the shore. Then he was obedient to God and he went to Nineveh to proclaim a message of repentance: And Jonah began to enter the city on the first day’s walk. Then he cried out and said, “Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown!” Jonah 3:4 Thus, a 40-day countdown began for the people of Nineveh to repent. Nineveh’s guilt was concerning the Assyria’s oppression against the Jewish people, taking them into captivity to Assyria and exiling them from their homeland, Israel. Background on Nineveh Nineveh was the capital city of Assyria. In modern-day terms, ancient Nineveh is on the eastern bank of the Tigris River, close to the modern-day city of Mosul in Iraq. In 721 B.C. Assyria swept down out of the north, captured the Northern Kingdom of Israel, and took the ten tribes into exile. The Assyrians then occupied the towns and villages of Northern Israel. Archeological scholar, Donald Wiseman, former curator at the British Museum and leading expert on Assyrian culture, has speculated that a solar eclipse did occur over Nineveh, the capital of the Assyrian empire. Solar Eclipse Preceded Jonah’s visit to Nineveh What’s not mentioned in the book of Jonah but is recorded in Assyria’s historical record and is known to NASA and modern astronomers is that before Jonah’s visit a solar eclipse occurred. The first Assyrian eclipse was on June 24, 791 B.C., and covered 74% of the sun. The second solar eclipse was on June 15, 763 B.C., and covered 98.7% of the sun. According to the Assyrian writings cited by Wiseman, the Ninevites would see a solar eclipse as a precursor to God’s judgment: “the king will be deposed and killed, and a worthless fellow will seize the throne…rain from heaven will flood the land…the city walls will be destroyed.”… At least once when there was a total solar eclipse, the Assyrians cried, “Nineveh shall be overthrown!” Tom Hobson, chair of Biblical Studies at Morthland College, observes The Assyrian nation was weak and in chaos in the decade around 760 BCE… They had one earthquake (one sign of divine wrath). There was a famine from 765-758 BCE. Assyria was losing battles and losing territory to its enemies. There were domestic riots…. (Does this sound like the current condition throughout Europe and the USA today?) Now was a perfect time for a prophet from far away to arrive on the scene and command a response. What was the result of Jonah’s preaching? The ancient city, with up to 1.5 million people, repented! So the people of Nineveh believed God, proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest to the least of them. Then word came to the king of Nineveh; and he arose from his throne and laid aside his robe, covered himself with sackcloth, and sat in ashes. And he caused it to be proclaimed and published throughout Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste anything; do not let them eat, or drink water. But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily to God; yes, let everyone turn from his evil way and from the violence that is in his hands. Who can tell if God will turn and relent, and turn away from His fierce anger, so that we may not perish? Then God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way, and God relented from the disaster that He had said He would bring upon them, and He did not do it. Jonah 3:5-10 Two Biblical Principles 1. The purpose of God bringing judgment upon the nations is to bring them to repentance! Repentance about what? We will come back to that! 2. God always precedes forthcoming judgment by sending warnings through the prophets. He warns, He warns, He warns, and then He waits to see if there is repentance. He judges if there is no repentance. As we see in the story of Jonah, the LORD can change His mind about His planned judgment: IF there is a national repentance! Application: What Does America Need to Repent of? Joel chapter 3:1-3 prophecies to us when and how the tribulation period will begin. It deals with God’s covenant He made with His people, the children of Israel. The God of Israel tells us clearly and directly WHY He judges the nations in Joel 3:1-2 “For behold, in those days and at that time, When I bring back the captives of Judah and Jerusalem, I will also gather all nations, And bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; And I will enter into judgment with them there On account of My people, My heritage Israel, Whom they have scattered among the nations; They have also divided up My land. Joel 3:1-2 This same warning of judgment is revealed in Zechariah 12:2-3, regarding the dividing of the city, Jerusalem: “Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples, when they lay siege against Judah and Jerusalem. “And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it. Zechariah 12:2-3 The LORD is warning very clearly and very directly here, NOT to divide Jerusalem…or judgment will result! Could it be that this second eclipse carries with it the message of repentance to the nations or judgment will occur? The Two-State Delusion Since the October 7th massacre and the ongoing war of Israel against Hamas, the Biden regime has been beating the drum of a “Two-State Solution”, and has sent Anthony Blinken over to Israel on numerous occasions to talk with Israel’s leadership about this. A recent survey shows that 85% of the Palestinians in Gaza support Hamas’s horrific actions and are even “proud of their actions on October 7.” Hamas does not want a Two-State solution: they want a One-State solution: Palestine. Their cry (and all Pro-Hamas supporters globally) “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free”, is a call to ERASE Israel off the map and genocide all the Jewish people. Handing a Palestinian state to Hamas would be rewarding the massacre! The Biden regime met with Arab leaders, and Gaza Palestinians in Egypt to discuss a unilateral recognition of a Palestinian state. Israel was not invited to those meetings. Israeli Knesset lawmakers voted 99 of 120 AGAINST unilateral Palestinian state recognition. Dividing God’s Land Has Severe Consequences Dividing God’s land violates the covenant that God made with Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and their descendants. On the same day, the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying: “To your descendants, I have given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the River Euphrates— Genesis 15:18 “And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you. Also, I give to you and your descendants after you the land in which you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.” Genesis 17:7-8 He is the LORD our God; His judgments are in all the earth. He remembers His covenant forever, The word which He commanded, for a thousand generations, The covenant which He made with Abraham, And His oath to Isaac, And confirmed it to Jacob for a statute, To Israel as an everlasting covenant, Saying, “To you, I will give the land of Canaan As the allotment of your inheritance,” Psalm 105: 8-11 Bill Koenig thoroughly documents in his book, “Eye to Eye: Facing the Consequences of Dividing Israel” many occurrences where America received dramatic consequences (in the form of natural disasters) whenever she was involved with dividing the land of Israel. One of the most notable consequences was Hurricane Katrina in 2005. In 2003, Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon proposed the Israeli disengagement from Gaza. It was approved by the Knesset in February 2005, and implemented in August and September 2005. On August 16, 9,000 Israelis had to leave, or face eviction. On August 22, President George W. Bush said: “My vision, my hope is that one day we’ll see two states – two democratic states living side by side in peace.” By August 23 the last residents were removed. Two days later, from August 25 – 28, Hurricane Katrina wreaked havoc in South Florida, Mississippi, Alabama, and Louisiana. On August 29, levees broke in New Orleans, submerging 80% of the city, resulting in 1,836 deaths, and costing $125 billion. Although there are many sins we can repent of, the one national sin that the God of Israel warns about repeatedly is this: He says He will judge the nations for attempting to divide the land of Israel and the city of Jerusalem. Like ancient Nineveh, I believe America needs to repent for the hand she has had in wielding the knife in her attempts to influence, manipulate, and coerce Israel into dividing the land to make a Palestinian state. He passed this hatred on to his grandson, Amalek: Because the LORD has sworn: the LORD will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.” Exodus 17:16 Haman, the Agagite, is a descendant of King Agag, King of the Amalekites. In the time of Esther, Haman wanted to genocide all the Jews living in Persia. Similarly, Israel today is now facing an existential threat from her enemies, Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis, and Iran: they want to genocide all the Jews also! Many Jewish and Christian bible teachers have discerned that the current war with Hamas has an underlying spiritual element: Israel is at war with the spirit of Esau, Amalek, and Haman. So, a time of fasting, prayer, and repentance during Purim is right on time and right on target! The Warning Has Been Given I believe America, as a nation, needs to repent of its role in seeking to divide the land of Israel to make a Palestinian state. Now it is up to us to take time, collectively, as God’s people to repent of this atrocious national sin and ask for God’s forgiveness, His mercy, and His grace. End-time Bible prophecy provides Christians an excellent opportunity to point lost souls to Jesus and encourage other believers as we see the Day approaching. A disturbing trend is gaining momentum, using end-time prophecy for ego, entertainment, or greedy gain instead of equipping the saints. Let’s take a realistic look at the scheme of profiteering from end-time prophecy and how the remnant church should respond. Before we continue, I want to distinguish between sound Bible teachers and selfish shepherds. I started Concerning The Times more than a decade ago, and over those years, I’ve been encouraged by many fellow Bible teachers who also focus on end-time prophecy, people and ministries like Dr. John Barnett of Discover the Book Ministries, Jan Markell of Olive Tree Ministries, Dr. Mark Hitchcock, The Berean Call, and too many others to mention here. They teach end-time Bible prophecy to show how to live as we see ‘The Day’ approaching and to glorify Christ alone, not themselves. 2 Peter 3:11. Moreover, these ministries don’t charge for end-time Bible prophecy conferences and to hear the gospel proclaimed. Their books and articles cause us to be alert, aware, and fruitful in light of current geopolitical events. Unfortunately, there’s also a growing number of pseudo-shepherds using end-time prophecy for personal gain, including writing books to promote themselves and unbiblical sensationalism. Do you remember the blood-moon hype of 2015, the Y2K scaremongering of 1999, or, if you are old enough, the book 88 Reasons Why the Rapture is in 1988? I mention these because many well-intentioned readers were caught up in teachings and hype that brought notoriety and book sales to authors but often resulted in disillusionment, doubt, and even spiritual shipwreck to many readers. Here we are decades later, and not much has changed because of a growing number of end-time prophecy teachers using the genre for greedy gain, selfish ambition, or conceit. Titus 1:7. As mentioned, many end-time prophecy conferences don’t charge a dime for proclaiming the gospel and equipping the saints. Ephesians 4:12. I can certainly understand that there are costs associated with renting a venue and equipment, and asking for a love offering or even a nominal fee to help offset the cost of travel or expenses is one thing. As a self-funded ministry, I understand the costs associated with itinerant preaching. Love offerings, honorariums, and book sales are how many fellow Bible teachers have their practical needs met. But why do many other end-time Bible prophecy conferences and teachers charge exorbitant fees to attend in person or online? It is a fact that many of these prophecy conferences charge upwards of $50.00 to $100.00. Dear friends, this isn’t a nominal love offering at the door; this is profiteering in the name of Jesus. I wonder how many Christians and curious non-Christians are missing out on solid Bible teaching because attending some conferences is cost-prohibitive. If we truly believe Jesus is coming soon and people must be warned, shouldn’t we examine the motives behind charging high fees to hear the gospel and equip the saints? I’m exhorting us to re-evaluate having Christian conferences at posh resorts and re-direct our efforts toward hosting them at our local churches and other reasonable venues, available to all who want to attend. Another disturbing trend is emerging. It is teaching and consuming end-time prophecy as an end in itself. Today’s focus on prophecy for the sake of acquired knowledge and not for Jesus’ sake is so prevalent today. Here’s a scenario I often encounter that usually goes like this: I have a conversation about end-time prophecy, and the person I’m talking with is so fired up about the latest update from their favorite teacher. They can tell me in great detail all about Klaus Schwab, the WEF, potential candidates for Antichrist, and the Great Reset. These are all timely and important issues of interest to any believer who loves Bible prophecy and topics I love to teach and write about often. But the summit of their knowledge and interest seems to be in end-time prophecy alone, not the God behind it. Some Christians will use this knowledge to show people that global events are lining up with scripture and point them to saving faith in Jesus in light of His soon return. Other people will get excited with more prophetic information but do nothing with it except share it on social media. There is no witnessing or co-laboring with other believers, just excitement about Jesus’ return, but with little or no fruit. Matthew 25:1-46. The point of Bible prophecy isn’t to alarm us but to alert us to the circumstances leading up to the Lord’s return. This alertness spurs us on to be ready, and the Bible says a lot on how to be ready for his return. A.W. Tozer -Preparing for Jesus’ Return I mentioned several Christ-honoring ministries at the beginning of the article. A common denominator among them is that they teach end-time Bible prophecy to create a biblical sense of urgency. Many fellow ministries use prophetic teaching to fire believers up to holy living and reach the lost in the little time before God’s wrath falls on an unrepentant, unsuspecting world. Why is it that many other so-called ‘prophecy experts’ will publish numerous books, draw crowds, and give detailed teaching on world events but gloss over the only task we are called to? I can only infer it has much to do with selfish ambition, not humility or the gospel. There’s nothing wrong with selling a book or speaking at a prophecy conference, but the focus must be on Jesus and the gospel, not ourselves. Revelation 19:10. I want to address fellow Bible teachers and those who follow end-time prophecy teaching and ministries. First, to my brethren in Christ, I want to remind us collectively that we are to encourage fellow ministers as many of you do. What would happen if we made it a habit to reach out with an occasional email or note with the motive being godly affection and love for the brethren? I can tell you that when you take an interest in what your fellow shepherds are doing, it is being in one accord and having the same love with the motive of God’s glory. Philippians 2:4-5. If you are a Christian and you love end-time Bible prophecy, I want to caution you about unwittingly drifting into eschatological sectarianism. I’m not talking about standing together against unbiblical teaching or ecumenism, because we all know that’s evil. Here’s what I’m addressing: it’s the bent of the heart to divide over opinions and trivial matters and not contending for the faith. Before we know it, we can find ourselves following only certain teachers instead of Christ, and if we’re not careful, we will cause divisions in the church that shouldn’t exist. 1 Corinthians 1:12-13. Dear friends, let’s examine our motives in light of Jesus’ soon return and use end-time Bible prophecy precisely for what it is meant for. To bring a biblical sense of urgency to both the messenger and hearer. This urgency will motivate us to preach, teach, and witness like never before. It will also remind us that many people will be caught in God’s judgment, which will surely fall on unrepentant people. Let’s re-evaluate our motives for teaching and consuming end-time Bible prophecy; it’s the Word of God. 2 Timothy 3:16. If we use it to wake up an apathetic church and warn an unrepentant world, it won’t simply be acquired prophetic knowledge. It will induce fear of the Lord, producing wisdom and Spirit-led alertness in the remnant church. God bless you as you make Him known. 2 Corinthians 5:11. The Democratic Party has, for the better part of its existence, disenfranchised and suppressed votes—while at the same time accused its opponents of the very same. You will hear a lot from Joe Biden and his party leadership about how their opponents are trying to destroy democracy by disenfranchising voters, but look at their very public actions for the truth. Attorney General Merrick Garland recently pointed to the history of voter suppression after the Civil War, implying it was others, not the Democratic Party, who took violent action against Black Americans to prevent them from voting. And yet today, he claims that ensuring that only eligible voters utilize mail-in votes, banning ballot-stuffing as in the use of drop boxes, and requiring voter identification to prove you are who you say you are, all are efforts to disenfranchise and suppress voting. Garland ignores that there are Constitutional requirements outlining eligibility of voters. By blocking all accountability on voting eligibility, the Democratic Party is disenfranchising the vote of qualified voters. Garland wants to recall the Civil War, but it was an organized political effort by the Democratic Party to disenfranchise Black Americans with Jim Crow laws after the Civil War. For over 100 years from 1865 to the late 1960s, these laws oppressed black voting, mandated segregation of public schools, public places, public transportation, housing, restrooms, drinking fountains, and restaurants. Many residuals of these laws still remain. Jim Crow Laws allowed arresting Blacks for the smallest of crimes to be incarcerated to hard labor and would never be allowed to vote, thus perpetuating a form of slavery. These laws began to be deconstructed with the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965, although these reforms were opposed by Democrats at all levels of government well into the 1970s. Democratic Party leadership says that every vote should count and that their opponents are destroying democracy. Think about how the Democratic Party is working overtime to remove Donald Trump from the ballot. Democrat-controlled Kangaroo courts have fined him, prohibited his businesses, twisted laws to convict him. They even used their state officeholders to illegally remove him from the ballot—all in the name of protecting democracy. But really, they are saying “you will vote for the candidate we choose.” That is tyrannical disenfranchisement of the right to vote. Romans 2:1 says this is inexcusable, “for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things.” And you know, it’s not just Trump that they are after. One thing that certainly stands out in the pages of Scripture is that prayer can dramatically change situations, people, and, on occasion, even the course of nature itself. But what prayer changes the most is us. God will allow hardship and difficulties in our lives so that He can reveal Himself and put His power and glory on display for those who are watching. When we pray, we’re acknowledging our need for God’s help. Maybe that is why we don’t pray as much as we ought to. Prayer is an admission of weakness on our part, and some people don’t like to admit weakness. However, we’re foolish if we think we don’t need God. The psalmist was being honest with God when he prayed, “Wake up, O Lord! Why do you sleep? Get up! Do not reject us forever. . . . Rise up! Help us! Ransom us because of your unfailing love” (Psalm 44:23, 26 NLT). It isn’t always a bad thing to complain to God or to bring your concerns, your questions, your pain, and your sadness to Him. We repeatedly read in the Gospels that Jesus prayed, and He prayed a lot. He would spend the night in prayer, and He would rise early while the disciples were still sleeping and pray. As Jesus hung on the cross, He cried out, “My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?” (Matthew 27:46 NLT). Jesus wasn’t having a crisis of faith, as some have suggested. It was the opposite. As He was dying for the sins of the world, He simply was describing the moment when God the Father turned His holy face away and poured the sins of all humanity upon Christ, who never committed a single sin. Jesus was crying out to the Father, and we can do the same when we’re in pain. We should get into a habit of prayer. We tend to make prayer a very formal matter, and we become hung up on that. But when a burden hits us, we should pray right then. When something troubles us or concerns us, we should turn it into a prayer right away. We need to develop a lifestyle of prayer. Philippians 4 reminds us, “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then, you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus” (verses 6–7 NLT). What do you do with your heartache? Pray. Commit it to the Lord. Cry out to God in your sorrow and pain. Call on God for His provision, protection, and guidance. And give thanks to Him for your joys.
