Looking from my home to the vast swaths of farmland below, it is hard to believe that my country is at war. It is beautiful, serene, pastoral – until an Israeli Air Force fighter jet flies at low altitude over my head coming in for a land at the nearby airbase. On the one hand is a magnificent colorful bounty filling the land. On the other is war. That has been the juxtaposition of Israel for millennia. Because of the unique nature of this nation, however, the battles are not limited to the physical. Yes, there is the war in Gaza, the constant skirmishing with Lebanon and Syria, and the indirect conflict with Iran through its proxies, which sometimes, like last week, becomes very direct. It is this action of blood and bombs that gets the headlines, leads to protests, causes the United Nations to pass silly resolutions, and is turned into political fodder for upcoming elections. And it is right that this violent conflict receives its proper attention. Lives are being lost on both sides of the battlelines and humanitarian suffering is rife due to the disregard which Hamas feels for their own people, using civilians as human shields and turning hospitals and schools into military bases. The other war, however, did not begin on October 7. True, it has been exacerbated since then, but it is a battle that has been going on since the early church. This is a spiritual battle for the legitimacy of the Jewish people and, since 1948, the State of Israel. It is astounding to me how many Christians believe that God is done with the Jews. Whether it is because of their idolatrous past that led to their exile or because there were a group of them 2000 years ago who were responsible for the crucifixion of Jesus, they feel that God finally had enough of that rebellious people and kicked them to the curb in favor of the church. And, once again, this is nothing new. The whole reason Paul wrote Romans 9-11 was to address this exact fallacy. It’s also the reason why several years ago, I wrote the book Israel and the Church. We are on the front lines of a serious battle. We are not warring in Gaza or up in the north. We are fighting the spiritual battle that the enemy has been waging against God and His chosen people for time immemorial. I invite you to join us in this battle. Invest time to learn how we can be sure that just like a father will never abandon his children, our God will never reject the people He loves – referring both to the holy people of Israel (Deuteronomy 7:6) and the holy people of the church (1 Peter 2:9). Then, armed with this knowledge, take what opportunities God presents to let those around you know that, yes, God has brought His people, the Jews, back to the promised land just as He said He would in Ezekiel 36-37, restoring them as a nation. And, yes, the Lord has a future plan for Israel that will include a mass revival (Romans 11:25-29) and a reconciliation with the One whom they pierced (Zechariah 12:10). Our God is faithful, and we must not allow the enemy to besmirch the character of our Lord by saying that His eternal love is only temporary and His promises are dependent upon our behavior. Jeremiah 31:3-4, 6 KJV – “The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee. 4 Again I will build thee, and thou shalt be built, O virgin of Israel: thou shalt again be adorned with thy tabrets, and shalt go forth in the dances of them that make merry… For there shall be a day, that the watchmen upon the mount Ephraim shall cry, Arise ye, and let us go up to Zion unto the Lord our God.” Israel The IDF is on its highest alert this weekend due to a convergence of events on Friday. 1) It is the last Friday of Ramadan. 2) It is Lailat al-Qadr (“Night of Power”), which celebrates the night the Quran was given. 3) It is Iran’s Quds Day (“Jerusalem Day”), a once-a-year show of support for the Palestinians. 4) Iran has already vowed to avenge the attack on Damascus, as described below. Individually, each is excuse enough for a terror attack. Taken together, they are an ominous warning. The commander of the Israel Defense Force’s (IDF) military intelligence said today, “We are not convinced that the worst is behind us. We are facing some very loaded and complicated days.” After the horrific events of October 7, we now recognize that we can no longer take any chances. We will not be caught off-guard ever again! It was a difficult week for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on two fronts. First, Sunday saw him at Hadassah Hospital Ein Kerem in Jerusalem where he underwent surgery for a hernia. The procedure went well, and he was released on Tuesday. Second, a four-day rally protesting his government turned into a small riot on the third night as those gathered tried to break through police barricades to the PM’s house. The emotion of the moment was heightened by the presence of some family members of hostages. A vast majority of Israelis are strongly united against the common enemy of Hamas. However, these protesters are a very vocal minority who are heavily funded by outside sources that are looking for more pliable leadership in Israel. The IDF Home Front Command is preparing to launch a media campaign to prep Israelis for war against Hezbollah. The terrorist group has at least 100,000 fighters on its rosters, many with battle experience from the Syrian Civil War, and is expected to fire up to 5000 rockets per day at Israel. The government is building up massive emergency supplies of fuel, food, and medical gear and is fortifying the electrical grid. The Bank of Israel has told smaller banks to prepare for a high cash demand in case of a run on currency. Amazingly, despite these bleak forecasts, the past couple of weeks have seen the Israeli stock market soaring as high as it’s ever been. A UAV struck an Israeli naval base in Eilat, damaging a building but causing no injuries. Apparently fired by the Islamic Resistance of Iraq, the drone traveled through Jordanian airspace and past Israeli defenses before hitting the site. Lebanon and Syria Among the numerous Israeli airstrikes against Lebanon and Syria, there is one that stands out in significance. On Monday, six F-35 aircraft launched more than 20 missiles at the residences alongside the Iranian embassy in Damascus. Eight Iranians were included in the 16 people killed. Among those casualties was Gen. Mohammed Reza Zahedi, commander of the elite Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), who was responsible for all the shipments of weapons and precise ordnance to Hezbollah in Lebanon. This surgical strike, which left the nearby French embassy untouched, sent shockwaves throughout the Middle East. On Tuesday, both Iran and Hezbollah vowed severe retribution in the next 48 hours. I, along with most of my fellow Israelis, will sleep better once that window of time has passed. The latter will give you much in-depth information that you won’t hear from your mainstream media sources. Friday saw another blow for Hezbollah as one of its most senior commanders, Brig.Gen. Ahmad Jawad Shahimi, was killed in an Israeli airstrike near Aleppo, Syria. Shahimi was responsible for coordinating arms smuggling between Syria and Hezbollah. Gaza The fight at Shifa Hospital in Gaza City is over. More than 900 suspects were found, of whom 513 were confirmed to be members of Hamas or Palestine Islamic Jihad (PIJ). Many weapons were confiscated, and infrastructure destroyed. The battle in Khan Yunis continues with the beginning of this week seeing the Israeli Air Force attacking more than 25 terrorist targets, including military equipment warehouses and other infrastructure. Tragically, seven workers for the World Central Kitchen (WCK), a humanitarian relief group, were accidentally killed by an Israeli airstrike. Prime Minister Netanyahu was quick to apologize for the incident, adding, “This happens in war. We are conducting a thorough inquiry and are in contact with the governments. We will do everything to prevent a recurrence.” The PM is right. In war, there are tragic accidents. We are heartbroken for the families of those who lost their lives. USA There were some encouraging words coming from Washington for a change this past week. First, on Tuesday, White House National Security Communications Advisor John Kirby told a press conference that the US government has not found “any incidents where the Israelis have violated international humanitarian law.” While not an affirmation, at least it’s not a criticism. The previous day, American and Israeli officials came out of joint virtual talks claiming agreement on their shared objective “to see Hamas defeated in Rafah.” Where they differ is that the Biden administration wants plans to relocate all noncombatants before an assault. Israel has said they will consider the issue. Turkey There are certain stories that I think make those in the West gasp and shake their heads in wonder, while we Middle Easterners just nod and say, “Yep, that’s business as usual.” Last week, Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan compared Israel’s prime minister and cabinet to modern-day Nazis and said that he would “send Netanyahu to Allah.” This week, Erdogan is reaching out to Israel in the hopes of improving relations between the two countries. What changed? The Turkish president’s party got trounced in the elections, with the secular main opposition party gaining huge victories in many of the major cities. If it sounds cynical to you for me to label Erdogan’s criticisms of Netanyahu as simply political bombast, then maybe you’ll believe Turkey’s deputy ambassador to Israel. He said, “Erdogan’s harsh rhetoric against Israel stems from Erdogan’s political considerations in the local elections in Turkey.” Interpretation – “The president needed his party to do well, so he threw you Jews under the bus. But now that the elections are over, let’s be friends.” It’s so typical, but some credit must be given. Politicians around the world do the very same thing. It’s only us Middle Easterners who have the chutzpah to come right out and admit to it. North Korea Kim Jong-un has a new toy. On Tuesday, the Respected Comrade supervised the launch of North Korea’s Huasong-16B hypersonic intermediate-range ballistic missile. Hopefully, the hermit leader will be careful with it so that he doesn’t accidentally shoot someone’s eye out. Taiwan Yesterday, the biggest earthquake Taiwan has experienced in a quarter of a century rocked the island nation. Measuring 7.2 magnitude, the temblor killed nine and injured more than 900 with at least 50 others missing. Many buildings in the eastern shore city of Hualien sustained major damage. UN & Bill Gates Behind “Digital Public Infrastructure” for Global Control – Alex Newman - https://libertysentinel.substack.com/p/un-and-bill-gates-behind Dozens of national governments are joining with the United Nations and billionaire population-control fanatic Bill Gates on a global program to impose “digital public infrastructure” (DPI) on their citizens within five years. This “DPI” includes central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), digital identification, comprehensive data systems, and more, all functional across national borders. The new scheme, unveiled late last year and moving ahead rapidly, is known as “50 in 5” because 50 governments expect to have the Orwellian “digital infrastructure” of tyranny in place within five years. Almost a dozen governments, including numerous corrupt kleptocracies and socialist regimes, have volunteered their populations to serve as “First Mover” countries so far. However, the UN’s assumption is that every government will eventually impose this on every person on Earth. This is clearly expressed throughout its announcements. “All countries, regardless of income level, geography, or where they are in their digital transformation journey, can benefit from being a part of 50-in-5,” the UN agency behind the scheme declared. “Joining the campaign helps ensure countries don’t have to tackle DPI implementation alone or start from scratch.” Led by the UN Development Programme (UNDP), the new “digital infrastructure” is being framed as a tool to accelerate the imposition of the highly controversial UN’s 2030 Agenda “Sustainable Development Goals,” referred to in 2015 by key UN leaders as the “Master Plan for Humanity.” The SDGs, as they are known, call for global wealth redistribution and drastically more government power over people’s lives at all levels. The mass-murdering regime ruling China boasted of playing a “crucial role” in developing the plan. Gates, who had a troubling relationship with convicted child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, celebrated the role of these technologies in imposing the UN SDGs on humanity. “The G20 reached a groundbreaking consensus on the role of digital public infrastructure as a critical accelerator of the Sustainable Development Goals,” he said on X. “I’m optimistic about the potential of DPI to support a safer, healthier, and more just world.” The whole program is being guided by the UN and elitists including Gates and others such as the Rockefellers, longtime financiers of globalism, eugenics, and population-control schemes. Multiple front groups steered by such “controligarchs” were created for the purpose. But U.S. and European taxpayers are being conscripted to foot much of the bill via UN agencies and international “development” banks. If not stopped, critics say the new suite of “digital public goods” and “infrastructure” will create a technological panopticon allowing for total surveillance and control of all people everywhere. Indeed, as the 2030 Agenda makes clear, “no one will be left behind.” Once in full swing, literally every transaction would be tracked, monitored, and controlled. UN bureaucrats put a happy face on the program. “For UNDP, a DPI approach that combines people-centric governance is critical to ensure that this new infrastructure can accelerate the [2030 Agenda] SDGs,” argued Keyzom Ngodup Massally, head of digital programs at UNDP. “This country-led 50-in-5 campaign is a core part of how UNDP continues to support meaningful global digital cooperation and strengthens local ecosystems to design and implement rights-based DPI.” Already, virtually all national governments and central banks around the world are working on central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), according to the Bank for International Settlements in Switzerland that is helping to guide and coordinate the rolling out of such currencies worldwide. As cash is sidelined and then disappears, CBDCs will create a permanent record of all transactions. Perhaps even more troubling, the digital currencies will also be programmable, leading experts and officials say. That will allow governments an unprecedented degree of control over the economy and individual decisions of consumers. In fact, the Biden White House has even called for CBDCs to advance “racial equity” and “environmental priorities.” Leading luminaries have called for them to track individual carbon footprints, too. Along with CBDCs, governments around the world are rolling out digital IDs to go with them. The Australian Senate just voted to approve such a system last week. Multiple American state governments, including some controlled entirely by Republicans, are pursuing similar schemes. And various organizations associated with Gates, the Rockefeller dynasty, and the UN have been promoting such IDs for years, including through groups such as ID2020. Ultimately, the digital IDs and CBDCs will become inseparable. The Financial Times discussed the relationship between all the different systems in the digital infrastructure system in a 2021 piece headlined “Why CBDCs Will Likely Be ID-based.” It reveals how CBDCs and digital IDs can (and will) be used together to ultimately control people. “What CBDC research and experimentation appears to be showing is that it will be nigh on impossible to issue such currencies outside of a comprehensive national digital ID management system,” wrote FT’s Izabella Kaminska. “Meaning: CBDCs will likely be tied to personal accounts that include personal data, credit history and other forms of relevant information.” Eventually, healthcare will become intertwined with all of it, as CCP-backed World Health Organization boss (and former ethno-Marxist terrorist leader) Tedros Ghebreyesus explained. “The COVID19 pandemic highlighted the value of digital health solutions in facilitating access to health services,” he declared before touting COVID “vaccine passports” imposed by the European Union. The WHO is now using the EU’s system to design a similar regime for all of humanity. Top globalists have hinted at where this is all going. “The trick is to build public digital infrastructure, that is interoperable, open to all and trusted. Let me give you one example that is reality today,” said EU “President” Ursula von der Leyen at the G20 summit in September. “Many of you are familiar with the COVID-19 digital certificate. The EU developed it for itself. The model was so functional and so trusted that 51 countries on 4 continents adopted it for free.” A social-credit score whereby each individual receives a rank based on his or her compliance with technocrats’ demands is essentially inevitable under this regime as well, critics say. “Advocates are adamant that DPI is essential for participation in markets and society — just like we saw with vaccine passports — only on a much broader scope,” explained The Sociable editor Tim Hinchliffe, one of the first to sound the alarm. The potential for control, he continued, is almost endless. “If successful, DPI will give governments and corporations the power to implement systems of social credit that can determine where and how you can travel, what you are allowed to consume, and how you will be able to transact with your programmable money,” added Hinchliffe. Of course, this sort of system already exists in Communist China, something The New American has been warning about for almost a decade. The CCP serves as a “role model,” according to World Economic Forum boss and Great Reset frontman Klaus Schwab and countless other globalists. And so, it is only a matter of time before such a regime is eventually unveiled in the West without massive opposition. Tracking children is a the top of the priority list, according to the WEF, as the data gathered is used to make decisions for people. “Fundamentally, a digital public infrastructure is about enabling data to flow seamlessly across sectors and systems, thereby enabling data-driven decision-making and policies,” the globalist organization says in a piece about tracking children with DPI. The “Digital Public Infrastructure” will also fuel increasing restrictions on everyday life, including on movement amid the emergence of 15-minute cities. It will be used to impose all sorts of mandates, including “lockdown” policies under pretexts ranging from alleged “public health” emergencies to supposed man-made “climate change,” opponents are warning, citing statements by the peddlers of these systems. But it gets weirder. At the end of what Schwab describes as the “Fourth Industrial Revolution,” there will be a “fusion of our digital, our physical, and our biological identities,” the German technocrat has said on multiple occasions. The full implications of that vision have not been worked out, but Schwab himself frequently promotes microchips to be implanted inside of human brains, among other transhumanist schemes. The “50 in 5” campaign for DPI officially launched late last year in New York. It aims to “radically shorten” the length of time that it would take to digitize everything from identification to currency. That will happen through collaboration between the UN and governments as they share technology to eventually create an interoperable system in at least 50 countries by 2028. The whole world is expected to follow suit. In addition to the UNDP, the Gates Foundation, and the governments that have already signed up, a wide array of AstroTurf groups and UN agencies is also involved — many of them funded by governments as well as profiteers such as Gates and his technocratic allies. These include UNICEF, the Inter-American Development Bank, the Centre for Digital Public Infrastructure, and the Digital Public Goods Alliance. The first governments to jump on the bandwagon — most with promises of “free” money extracted from Western taxpayers — include Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Moldova, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Sri Lanka, and Togo. A handful of wealthier governments, including those in Norway and Singapore, have also signed on. “These countries serve as beacons of progress and inspiration for countries to build their own digital foundations and improve their economies and the well-being of people,” claimed the UNDP in a press release announcing the first 11 governments to participate in imposing these digital surveillance and control tools on their populations. By bringing 50 governments into the program, the UN is hoping each one can focus on one area or element of the “DPI” scheme. Then, each government will share what it learned with other governments, so the digital surveillance and control architecture can be imposed faster and in a way that transcends national borders. Sierra Leonean Minister of Communication, Technology, and Innovation Salima Monorma Bah called on all governments to sign on. “Sierra Leone is excited to be part of 50-in-5 and urges everyone else to join the campaign — the next five years are the window of opportunity to speed up safe and inclusive DPI implementation together and thereby accelerate positive outcomes for people globally,” Bah said. Even as totalitarian technocrats rush ahead with these technologies, opposition is growing. In Florida, for example, a new law has officially banned CBDCs. Numerous other states are pursuing similar measures. Yesterday, one of my readers wrote to me and pointed out a video where someone was talking about this. I had previously written about the “blood moon eclipse” that happened during the second day of Purim on March 25th of this year, but I had not heard that there would be “blood moon eclipses” on Purim in 2025 and 2026 too. So I started to do some research to confirm whether this is true or not. I did a Google search for Purim in 2025, and this is what I found… Purim in 2025 is on Friday, March 14. Purim is always celebrated for 2 days, so it will continue till March 15. So then I went to Wikipedia and I discovered that there will be a lunar eclipse on March 14th, 2025… A total lunar eclipse will take place on Friday, March 14, 2025, the first of two total lunar eclipses in 2025. The Moon will take place near apogee during this eclipse, making it appear smaller than usual. This blood moon eclipse will happen on the first day of Purim next year, and it will be visible from Jerusalem. Having confirmed that there will be a “blood moon Purim eclipse” in 2025, I asked Google when Purim would be in 2026. According to hebcal.com, the first day of Purim in 2026 begins at sundown on March 2nd and it ends at sundown on March 3rd… Purim for Hebrew Year 5786 begins at sundown on Monday, 2 March 2026 and ends at nightfall on Tuesday, 3 March 2026 . And according to Wikipedia there will be a lunar eclipse on March 3rd, 2026… A total lunar eclipse will take place on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, the first of two lunar eclipses in 2026. This “blood moon Purim eclipse” will complete the set. As far as I know, we have never seen something like this happen for three years in a row. So what does all of this mean? I don’t know. But I will give you some of my thoughts. In the Book of Esther, we read about the origins of Purim. The enemies of Israel thought that they were finally going to defeat the Jewish people, but in the end the Jewish people got the upper hand on their enemies. And I think that a similar scenario is playing out today. Iran, Syria, Hezbollah and other Iranian-backed groups in the region have been preparing for war with Israel for years. Collectively, their forces greatly outnumber Israeli forces. And they possess vast numbers of missiles. In fact, Hezbollah alone has an arsenal of at least 150,000 highly sophisticated missiles ready to fire at Israel. Yes, Israel has the Iron Dome, but that system can only handle a limited number of targets at a time. If thousands of missiles start raining down on Israeli cities all at once, Israel will be overwhelmed. Right now, the world is waiting to see how Iran will respond to Israel’s stunning airstrike on Damascus on Monday. Iran’s supreme leader has told the world that Israel “will be punished by our brave men”… Several of Iran’s most powerful officials, including “supreme leader” Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, vowed revenge against Israel following an airstrike in Damascus, Syria, on Monday that eliminated a senior Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) leader. “The evil regime will be punished by our brave men. We will make them regret this crime and other ones, by God’s will,” Khamenei proclaimed, according to the Iranian state-run PressTV propaganda network on Tuesday. Khamenei referred to Israel as “usurping and despicable.” That makes it sound like Iran will take revenge directly instead of relying on proxies to do their dirty work this time. Hezbollah is also warning that there will be “punishment and revenge”… ‘This crime will certainly not pass without the enemy receiving punishment and revenge,’ Hezbollah said in a statement. We shall see what happens. If the response is too severe, it could set in motion a chain of events that nobody will be able to control. Already, one expert is warning that we have reached a point of “all-out war between Israel and the resistance axis”… Meanwhile, Bassam Abu Abdallah, who heads the Damascus Centre for Strategic Research and is close to the Syrian government, said that before Monday ‘there were rules of engagement, but now it’s an all-out war between Israel and the resistance axis’. The course of this war was fundamentally altered this week, and it would be difficult to overstate the anger that we are witnessing in the Islamic world at this moment. On Tuesday, there were enormous flag-burning protests all over the Middle East… Huge American flag-burning protests have erupted across the Middle East as Iranian protesters gather to condemn the Israeli airstrike against Iran’s consulate in Syria on Monday. Photos and videos show large groups of protesters shouting anti-Israeli and anti-US slogans in Tehran while burning US and Israeli flags in a show of frustration and anger. At some point in the coming months, I believe that a breaking point will come. If the combined forces of Iran, Syria and Hezbollah start pouring toward northern Israel and if thousands of missiles start raising down on Israeli cities, the government of Israel will almost certainly respond with overwhelming force. We are talking about an apocalyptic scenario that nobody wants to see. And right now we are just one step away from such a conflict. When all-out war erupts in the Middle East, we are all going to be deeply affected. The price of oil will go absolutely nuts, and massive unrest will flare up in large cities all over the globe. We should pray for peace, but I don’t see any way that an apocalyptic Middle East war is going to be avoided at this point. It passed by a vote of 14-0 with one abstention—the United States. Though the resolution called for the release of the hostages, The Times of Israel pointed out this fact about the resolution: It does not require the release by Hamas of the 130 Israeli hostages it has been holding since October 7 in order for the ceasefire demand to become operative. Furthermore, the resolution issues a ceasefire call that Israel, a party to the UN Charter, will now be pressured by the international community to heed, while Hamas, a barbaric terrorist organization that regards itself as answerable to nothing but its own Jew-killing genocidal ideology, will blithely ignore the demand to unconditionally free the hostages. Former US Vice President Mike Pence immediately responded: “This is a disgrace. The UN Security Council passed a resolution calling for an immediate cease-fire that makes no mention of Hamas or October 7th and the Biden Administration let it pass without a veto.” Pence further went on to say that “after the worst attack on the Jewish people since the Holocaust Israel must be allowed to wage war until Hamas is destroyed once and for all.” I agree with him. There is a clear shift happening in the United States’ support for Israel. The day following that shameful UN resolution, a container ship leaving Baltimore’s Port hit one of the three main supports of the Francis Scott Key bridge, resulting in its tragic collapse. Some are saying it was a cyber attack. The incident is still under investigation, but what I am sure of is that God allowed it to happen. When the US turned its back on Israel on March 25th, it was certainly not the way to bring blessing upon America—in fact, just the opposite. The American Trucking Association (ATA) estimated that “nearly 4,900 trucks traveled the bridge every day, carrying about $28 billion in goods every year,” according to Fox Business. Thousands of trucks will now need to be rerouted, resulting in a dramatic rise in the cost of all those goods. Some say rebuilding the bridge could take up to 10 years and cost well over 400 million dollars. Don’t misunderstand. I am not saying this could have been prevented had the US used its veto power to squash the UN’s shameful resolution. However, I do honestly believe Genesis 12:3, which states: “And I will bless them that bless thee [Israel], and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.” We know from history that when a nation curses God’s chosen people, God will curse that nation, just as He did with the ancient Egyptians, ancient Assyrians, Babylonians, ancient Greece, Rome, and the Third Reich. Where are all those ancient empires that came against God’s chosen people? They’re all gone. Where is Israel? Right back in the land that He swore to the physical descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. You would think the world would have learned this by now, but they keep testing the God of the universe. And they will continue to do so until it climaxes one day at the end of the tribulation. During that time all nations will come against God’s chosen people (Zechariah 14:2). It’s not hard to imagine that happening when we can see glimpses of that today. Balaam prophesied in Numbers 23:9 that Israel would not be numbered among the nations. In other words, Israel would be treated in a different manner and be held to a higher standard than what the world holds itself accountable to. We read that one day, God will enter into judgment with those nations for doing so. Zechariah, writing approximately 2500 years ago, states: “So the angel who spoke with me said to me, ‘Proclaim, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘I am zealous for Jerusalem And for Zion with great zeal. I am exceedingly angry with the nations at ease; For I was a little angry, And they helped—but with evil intent.” In the time that Zechariah penned these verses, God’s chosen people were scattered 350 miles to the east as a result of the Babylonians under King Nebuchadnezzar dragging them to Babylon. The nations were reporting that everything was at ease; they didn’t care about God’s chosen people and what happened to them, which stirred the Lord’s anger. God was angry with the nations in Zechariah’s day, and I believe He is also angry today with the Nations who could care less about His chosen people. The UN resolution that passed makes no mention of the atrocities carried out by Hamas or the fact that they use their own people as human shields. There is also no mention of the fact that the majority of Palestinians support October 7th and continue to do so. It’s as if the world has forgotten the demonic horrors committed in that massacre. Even the demand that Israel agree to a Ramadan ceasefire is absurd, considering that Hamas had no problem deliberately attacking Israel during their season of feast days. The bottom line is this: to let Hamas live another day so this can be repeated in the future is to have no regard and no compassion for what is true, right, and just—and God is taking note. Woe unto the world! Judgment is coming. In Chapter 30, verse 11, Jeremiah writes, “For I am with you [Israel],’ says the Lord, ‘to save you; Though I make a full end of all nations where I have scattered you, Yet I will not make a complete end of you…” God says that He has an everlasting love for His chosen people. They are the apple of His eye. While this world is turning against Israel, let us, as believers, stand with Him and pray for our country and leaders to do the same. Daily Jot: The American Chronicles: The Story of Service Dog Charlie - Bill Wilson – www.dailyjot.com After our faithful Cocker Spaniel Zeke passed, we were devastated. Zeke had a particular personality and wisdom that went beyond dog sense. His passing was really hard on us, especially Chris, who had a very special bond with him. Our friends in Texas, Deana and Randy, also lost their Cocker about the same time. Deana was looking for a new Cocker Spaniel and she found a breeder in Texas and fell in love with two of them, but could only have one. After we talked, I started trying to convince Chris that we needed another doggie. She felt it was too soon. She wasn’t ready. I asked Deana to send me a picture of the one she didn’t pick. Well, that was it. Chris fell in love. Chris, our son Christian and I went to Dulles Airport to fetch our new puppy, arriving from Texas. He was only 8 weeks old and took to us right away. On the way home, he laid on Christian’s shoulder, looking at Chris in the backseat. They decided his registered name Neiman Barkus didn’t fit, so they renamed him “Charlie” because, as Chris and Christian agreed, “He looked like a Charlie.” When we got him home, he ran and played in the yard for a bit and seemed to adjust to his new family really well. It didn’t take long for us to grow really attached to Charlie, especially since Christian graduated from law school, passed the bar and moved out—an empty nester thing for us, you know. We knew we wanted to travel, but we didn’t like the idea of leaving Charlie with doggie day care. Chris enrolled Charlie in obedience school. He really took to it. Charlie, we found, was very competitive and always positioned himself to be the best in his class. Time and again he would somehow connect with the instructor (tapping his paw, making eye contact, whining) so he could be the one to demonstrate the most recent teaching. Well, Charlie was certified as a Service Dog—he was really proud of his red Service Dog vest, although we don’t use it very often. From then on, Charlie could travel with us wherever we went. It seems like other dogs can’t resist him. We were at a restaurant when someone’s ridgeback ran after Charlie. I swung him around in his leash and Chris caught him in the air to save him from the attack. We were on the coast in Maine when a shepherd came running after Charlie, knocking his owner down and dragging him on the road. Then there was the time in Georgia when Charlie made friends with Benji, Nancy from Winchester’s long-time companion. Charlie is also the one that pulled me down the brick steps for my faceplant on the landing—he did come back and sit beside me till help came. But overall, everyone that passes by when Charlie is with us, wants to pet him. And he wants them to pet him. He’s become kind of a celebrity with The American Chronicles, a part of the family as well as the ministry. Galatians 5:22 says, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith.” Charlie brings a lot of love and joy to our travels. And that’s the tale of Charlie the Service Dog! If you stop, you are in danger and a danger to those who are flying.” We could apply the same principle to the Christian life: We need to keep moving forward spiritually. If we stop, we’re in danger and a danger to others. There is a natural tendency to go in the wrong direction. As a result of putting our faith in Jesus Christ, we have a new nature. But we also have an old nature that fights with the new nature. The apostle Paul wrote, “And I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. I want to do what is right, but I can’t. I want to do what is good, but I don’t. I don’t want to do what is wrong, but I do it anyway” (Romans 7:18–19 NLT). We make a choice whether to build up our spiritual lives or neglect them. And when we neglect the things of God, we are feeding our old nature. It’s a battle, and every day the battle rages. Simon Peter never thought that he would fall away from the Lord. He somehow believed that even if everyone else abandoned Jesus, he never would. He didn’t understand his own weakness, and as a result, he fell—and he fell hard. There are several steps that led to Simon Peter’s fall. The first was self-confidence. He said to Jesus, “Lord, I am ready to go to prison with you, and even to die with you” (Luke 22:33 NLT). And according to Matthew’s Gospel, he also said, “Even if everyone else deserts you, I will never desert you” (26:33 NLT). Peter was boasting, and he was doing it at the expense of others. He was boasting of his devotion and commitment. Yet Proverbs 16:18 warns, “Pride goes before destruction, and haughtiness before a fall” (NLT). We need to recognize that we have the potential to fall. We have the potential to sin. We don’t need self-confidence; we need Christ-confidence. We need to trust in Him and stay as close to Him as we can. Peter’s next step down was a lack of prayer. When Jesus and His disciples went to the Mount of Olives, Jesus told them, including Peter, to watch and pray. Instead, they were sleeping. This was a result of the sin of self-confidence. Lastly, Peter followed at a distance after a crowd of men arrested Jesus and led Him away. And a distance from the Lord in closeness and fellowship will always be at the foundation of all spiritual regression. In Peter’s defense, he was still following. But it was at a distance, which means that it was a half-hearted commitment. Although this is a story of failure, it is also a story of restoration and forgiveness. Peter received forgiveness and a second chance. Have you fallen away from the Lord? Jesus is ready to forgive you of every sin that you’ve ever committed.
