Bible prophecy says the world will turn against Israel in the ‘last days’ – is it happening now? - Joel C. Rosenberg - https://allisrael.com/bible-prophecy-says-the-world-will-turn-against-israel-in-the-last-days-is-it-happening-now Prior to October 7, the future seemed so bright for Israel. We had just signed our sixth Arab-Israeli peace and normalization agreement. We seemed to be on track to sign a seventh agreement with Saudi Arabia. Our economy was booming, tourism was hitting record levels, and Israel was building increasingly close and warm ties with nations and governments all over the globe. But October 7 and the war that ensued changed everything. Israel is now in its darkest hour since the War of Independence in May 1948. And the world is increasingly turning against us. Indeed, the situation has gone from bad to worse in recent weeks, as I’ll describe in a moment. But the big question is this: Are Israelis just going through a bad patch and our fortunes will brighten again soon, or are we beginning to see Bible prophecies unfold in which the entire world turns against Israel and Jewish people in the “last days”? WHAT I SAW WHILE TRAVELING OUTSIDE OF ISRAEL I’m back in Israel now after six and a half weeks traveling throughout the United States. During that time I was speaking at churches and the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB( Convention, giving interviews to various media outlets, and meeting with a range of Evangelical leaders. In the course of responding to hundreds of questions – and listening to the observations and concerns of so many people – one thing has become painfully clear. After six months of fighting against Hamas in the Gaza Strip – and against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon –Israel may be winning on the military battlefield but it is most definitely losing the global public relations battle. Consider a few examples: South Africa has put Israel on trial at the World Court in The Hague, charging the Jewish state with “genocide,” and few nations or world leaders are coming to Israel’s defense. The United Nations is consistently and overwhelmingly voting to condemn Israel. The President of the United States recently refused to veto one such anti-Israel resolution at the UN Security Council, instructing his ambassador to “abstain” instead, allowing the resolution to pass. President Biden is openly opposing Israel’s planned military operation in Rafah – the southernmost city in the Gaza Strip – to finish off the final group of Hamas forces pinned down there. President Biden is openly and repeatedly castigating how the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are fighting in Gaza and defending Israel from future October 7-style invasions, calling the IDF’s operations and tactics “over the top.” President Biden is also openly blasting Israel’s prime minister with obscenities, calling Benjamin Netanyahu – the only truly democratically elected U.S. ally in the Middle East – a “f*ing bad guy” and an “a-hole.” By contrast, Biden never speaks so brazenly or crudely about enemies of the U.S. like Russian President Vladimir Putin or Chinese communist leader Xi Jinping. Meanwhile, other countries – including Canada and Turkey – are beginning to impose military and trade embargoes on Israel. And the global media – especially TV news programs around the world – keeps painting Israel as a monster that destroys the lives and homes of innocents in Gaza and tries to starve millions of Palestinians, as well. WHAT DOES THE BIBLE PROPHET EZEKIEL TELL US? This is as bad as I’ve seen Israel’s global reputation suffer in my lifetime. There have certainly been other tough times – the IDF’s response to the eruption of the first Palestinian intifada in December 1987 comes to mind, as does Israel’s response to the eruption of the Second Intifada in September 2000. In my estimation, this is worse. But is it prophetic? Throughout the Bible, there are repeated prophetic warnings that when we get to the eschatological season known as the “last days,” the entire world will turn against the nation of Israel. For example, in the Old Testament – in Ezekiel, chapters 38 and 39 – it becomes painfully clear that no nation comes to Israel’s defense when the “War of Gog and Magog” begins in the “last days” (Ezekiel 38:16). Many pastors and Bible scholars believe that Ezekiel is describing a Russian dictator who will lead the attack on Israel in an alliance with the military forces of Iran, Turkey, Sudan, and several other Central Asian and African nations. Yet, the prophecy makes it clear that when such an invasion comes, Israel will be all alone, utterly abandoned even by its closest friends and allies. WHAT DOES THE BIBLE PROPHET ZECHARIAH TELL US? In the writings of the ancient Hebrew prophet Zechariah, we find another Old Testament example of all nations turning against Israel in the End Times. Consider this passage from Zechariah 12:2-3. “Thus declares the Lord who stretches out the heavens, lays the foundation of the earth, and forms the spirit of man within him, ‘Behold, I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that causes reeling to all the peoples around; and when the siege is against Jerusalem, it will also be against Judah. It will come about in that day that I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples; all who lift it will be severely injured. And all the nations of the earth will be gathered against it.’” The eyes – and enmity – of “all the nations of the earth” will be against Jerusalem, Israel’s eternal capital, the prophet tells us. Why? Because God is going to supernaturally “make Jerusalem a cup that causes reeling [or intoxication] to all the peoples around” in order that all of Israel’s enemies would be “severely injured.” That is, in the last days, the Bible indicates that all of the leaders of the world will essentially get drunk on the notion that Israel – Jerusalem – is the problem that the world must solve. Yet, God also makes it clear that all the nations that turn against Israel will themselves face Divine Judgment and be “severely injured.” WHAT DOES THE BOOK OF REVELATION TELL US? We also find such sobering prophecies in the New Testament. The Apostle John – who wrote the Book of Revelation – repeatedly prophesied that all nations would turn against Israel at the End of Days. One example is found in Revelation, chapter 12, where the Apostle writes that one day Satan will be thrown down to earth where he “deceives the whole world” to turn against Israel and the Jewish people and to persecute them terribly. The prophecy goes on to tell us that Satan even forces the Jewish people to flee from the land of Israel “into the wilderness” – widely believed by many Bible scholars to be the Petra region of the current Kingdom of Jordan – but that God will protect them there “for one thousand two hundred and sixty days.” (Revelation 12:5-6) Another example is found in Revelation 16. There, the apostle writes that demonic forces in the spirit world will gather together “the kings of the whole world” for a terrible and apocalyptic “war” against Israel during the last days. In that war, it is written, all the military forces of the world will converge “in the place which in Hebrew is called Har-Megiddo” – located in the Jezreel Valley in northern Israel – and which in English is called, famously, “Armageddon.” The text is clear that God will supernaturally destroy and judge all of these enemies of Israel. But before He does so, God will sovereignly allow the world to turn against Israel en masse. ARE WE THERE YET? Have we arrived at the prophetic point in history in which the entire world is turning against Israel and the Jewish people? No, not yet – but that’s definitely where we are trending. The next prophetic war is not Armageddon. That takes place during what the Old Testament calls Daniel’s 7th week (see Daniel 9) or what the New Testament calls the “Tribulation” or the “Great Tribulation” (see the entire Book of Revelation). The next prophetic war is the War of Gog and Magog, as described in Ezekiel 38 and 39. Will those prophecies come to pass soon, much less in our lifetime? No one knows but God Himself. But they could. So, we should be watching closely. After all, it certainly appears that the chess pieces are being arranged on the board for just such a war. The dictator of Russia is building alliances with the leaders of Iran, Turkey and Sudan, to name just a few. The nations of the world are increasingly turning against Israel and the Jewish people. Even the leaders of Israel’s most trustworthy ally – the United States of America – are abandoning Israel. WHAT WILL THE CHURCH DO? OUR TEST HAS COME In light of all that is happening spiritually and geopolitically in the world today, my question is this: What will the Church do? Will true followers of Jesus Christ – and their pastors and shepherds who read and love and teach the Bible – stand with Israel in our darkest hour? Or abandon Israel? Will they embrace and unconditionally love and protect the Jewish people as antisemitism surges and more and more Jew-hatred is unleashed? Or will the Church flunk this test of history? While there were many true Christian heroes during the Holocaust who protected the Jewish people at great risk to their own lives and freedom, much of the Roman Catholic Church and Lutheran Churches failed disastrously. Now it’s your turn – and mine. When you stand before the God of Israel one day soon, what will He say to you? When our great test is over, will you have passed or failed? ‘Ramping Up to Revelation’: Are the End Times Upon Us? - By Billy Hallowell - https://www.faithwire.com/2024/04/09/ramping-up-to-revelation-are-the-end-times-upon-us/ Wars. Rumors of wars. Famines. Pestilences. Earthquakes. These are just some of the “birth pains” Jesus said will precede the biblical end times. And with a solar eclipse, a random earthquake in the northeast, and continued consternation in the Middle East dominating headlines, it should come as no surprise end of days speculation is currently kicking back up in recent days and weeks. Prophecy expert Jeff Kinley, author of “God’s Grand Finale” and the forthcoming book, “The End of the World According to Jesus of Nazareth,” weighed in on these dynamics, explaining what the Bible actually says and why it matters. “Jesus and Matthew 24 list a ton of signs that will precursor [Christ’s] Second Coming, and it basically mirrors the Book of Revelation — the first half of Revelation,” Kinley said. “And in those signs you have … things like wars, you have rumors of wars, you have famines … earthquakes, and then Jesus said, ‘All these things are merely the beginnings of birth pangs.'” The author said he believes Christ is talking about the Tribulation period, a time during the end of days some Christians believe will be characterized by God’s judgment. As far as what’s happening in the world today, Kinley believes it’s a “ramping up to Revelation.” Watch him explain: https://youtu.be/kOwW5VrUdvg “It’s like when you’re watching a baseball game or a football game,” he said. “You’re watching the quarterback, you’re watching the pitcher, you’re watching where the ball is, essentially.” Kinley continued, “Well, where the ball is prophetically is Israel, and, so, if you want to know really kind of put your finger on the pulse of what’s going on prophetically, you need to look at Israel.” Anyone looking at Israel right now can see the nation is locked in a great battle against Hamas, Hezbollah, and, more broadly, Iran. Kinley said focusing on this dispute — and region — is essential if Christians want to understand what’s truly happening. “All eyes should be on Israel, because the Bible says that God is going to bring … the global narrative in the end times back to Israel, back to Jerusalem,” he said. “And all the things that are taking place were prophesied — these foreshadows were prophesied many thousands of years ago.” Kinley said the Bible predicts that nations will come against Israel in the last days, and pondered whether what’s unfolding right now is the “preseason to the actual events that Christ and others” predicted would one day take form. He specifically pointed to Ezekiel 38 and 39, which discusses a “last day’s invasion” of Israel from many Muslim nations. Kinley believes Turkey and Iran are included, with some seeing Russia as the Magog mentioned in these passages. “We know that invasion is going to happen,” he said. “It’s going to happen in the latter days when Israel is feeling secure in the land.” Kinley continued, “Obviously, she’s not feeling secure right now, but I think these pieces of the chess board are being put into place, with Iran, with Turkey, with Iraq, with Russia even coming south with assets, in Syria and these proxies, Hamas and Hezbollah, of Iran are just simply kind of paving the way.” For context, Ezekiel 38:14-16 (NIV) reads: “Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say to Gog: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: In that day, when my people Israel are living in safety, will you not take notice of it? You will come from your place in the far north, you and many nations with you, all of them riding on horses, a great horde, a mighty army. You will advance against my people Israel like a cloud that covers the land. In days to come, Gog, I will bring you against my land, so that the nations may know me when I am proved holy through you before their eyes.” You can read much more about Gog and Magog in our explainer here. Watch above to see Kinley break these issues down and explain why he believes these events have not yet come to fruition. DOWNLOAD THE PROPHECY UPDATE APP Prophecy Update Videos Must Watch Videos! Some things simply sound “too good to be true.” That could be said of Jesus’ promises to those who accept Him: absolute forgiveness and eternal life in the presence of God. On the other hand, some people cannot accept the clear teaching of Scripture regarding the wrath of God that abides on all who do not obey the Son by accepting Him as Savior and Lord (John 3:36). They like the sound of a god who would not harm a fly but cannot accept the living God who will pour out His righteous indignation on a world that has rejected Him. They are even more appalled by the idea of Jesus, the Lamb who was slain, administering the wrath of God. Yet that is exactly what Revelation teaches (6:16). It has been said that Revelation is too hard to understand. But Henry Morris, the founder of the Institute for Creation Research, once said: “Revelation is not hard to understand. It is hard to believe; but if you will believe it, you will understand it.” It is critical that we understand up front that this final book in the canon of God’s Word is not merely the fanciful and imaginative vision of John the Apostle. The very first verse in the book establishes that it is “The Revelation of Jesus Christ.” The same verse goes on to explain the purpose behind Jesus unveiling all that John would be tasked to record: “…which God gave Him to show to His bond-servants, the things which must soon take place; and He sent and communicated it by His angel to His bond-servant John.” Driving the point home even further, verse 2 tells us that John “testified to the word of God and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, even to all that he saw.” Other prophets of God affirm the divine inspiration to their prophecies by frequently weaving in the phrase, “Thus saith the Lord.” But John established up front that Revelation is the testimony of none other than Jesus Christ. Revelation is unique in one other respect. No other book offers a promise of blessing for merely reading what is written. But verse 3 says, “Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and heed the things which are written in it; for the time is near.” Not clear enough? Jesus repeats the same promise in 22:7: “And behold, I am coming quickly. Blessed is he who heeds the words of the prophecy of this book.” Reading and hearing can be easily done. But how do you heed a book of prophecy—especially one as expansive as Revelation? How can I heed the sweeping prophecies yet to be fulfilled and often related to God’s wrath that abides on the unbelieving world? By doing what Henry Morris advocated and believing this great book of prophecy. In other words—taking Jesus at His Word. Islam: The Religion of Terror - By Todd Strandberg - https://www.raptureready.com/2024/04/09/islam-the-religion-of-terror-by-todd-strandberg/ Whenever there is a major terrorist attack in any area of the world, it is generally safe to assume that the attack has some connection to followers of the Islamic faith. In the past 20 years, we had several mass shooting events where the killer was not a Muslim. If there is more than one attacker, the odds instantly rise to nearly 100% that the killers are Islamic. When I read the news that 130 people had been killed in Moscow, I wondered if Ukraine had developed a new strategy. It was quickly shown that 11 of the attackers were members of an ISIS terrorist group. They have some beef with Putin because he killed many of their colleagues in the area of Syria and Turkey. A few hours after the Moscow event, a group called ISIS-K claimed responsibility for the attack in the Crocus Concert Hall. What has the world come to when you have a terrorist group proudly declaring responsibility for mass murder? In the past, terrorists didn’t need to say, “Yeah, we did it.” Law enforcement would quickly determine the identity of the attackers. ISIS-K posted a picture of the attackers only minutes before the shooting began, which clearly shows the same outfits on several of the terrorists that were arrested by Russian security forces in the Bryansk Region. Despite the ongoing war in Ukraine, Washington issued a statement of solidarity with Russia, as the death toll has risen to 140 killed. “The United States strongly condemns yesterday’s deadly terrorist attack in Moscow,” Secretary of State Antony Blinken said in a statement. “We condemn terrorism in all its forms and stand in solidarity with the people of Russia in grieving the loss of life from this horrific event.” UK Chancellor of the Exchequer Jeremy Hunt made similar remarks. “We know that they are creating a smokescreen of propaganda to defend an utterly evil invasion of Ukraine. But that doesn’t mean that it’s not a tragedy when innocent people lose their lives when you have horrible bombings,” Hunt said. Russia has done its best to link Ukraine to the attack. Since all of the gunmen are from Tajikistan, Putin’s lies cannot change reality. The US tried to warn Moscow that some kind of big Islamic terror attack was coming. Several days later, it’s not all that clear what the attackers were hoping to accomplish by killing innocent people. One of the four men in a video claimed that he went on the killing spree after he was promised 500,000 rubles ($5,400). It is doubtful that any of the terrorists realized what would happen to them once Russian authorities apprehended them. Various news outlets did not attempt to conceal that the attackers had been tortured. Several had black eyes, and one was seen being zapped by some type of electrical device. Just like all other terror attacks done in the name of Islam, this latest one will quickly fade from memory. It is seen as an act of Islamophobia to add up negative events that were motivated by the Muslim faith. Houthi rebels are firing rockets into the Red Sea at any ship that floats by. If the West had any common sense, it would ask the Houthis why they’ve been randomly attacking ships. We don’t make this demand because the Houthis would say the Koran gives them the authority to fire at any vessels commanded by infidels. Christianity is the most blamed religion for the world’s problems. Many atheists spend all their time attacking the Bible. Islamists often attack Christians by calling us crusaders. This is a grievance that goes back 1,000 years. We can easily point out the shortfall of Islam by saying, “Remember what your people did last week.” Every few days, there is a church somewhere in the world that terrorists have attacked. It breaks my heart to learn that fellow believers have been killed because of their Christian faith. I’m confirmed by the reality that Satan hates Christianity because it is the one true way to God. “And he called them to him and said to them in parables, ‘How can Satan cast out Satan? If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. And if a house is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand'” (Mark 3:23-25). Daily Jot: Stupidocrisy: Biden's Trans Easter – Bill Wilson – www.dailyjot.com Joe Biden riled Christian Americans by declaring Resurrection Sunday (Easter) Transgender Visibility Day. Then when the predictable backlash came crashing down like a tidal wave, he told a reporter “I didn’t do that.” Fact is, he did. He not only made the proclamation, which is on the White House website, he also tweeted out on Resurrection Sunday, “Today, on Transgender Day of Visibility, I have a simple message to all trans Americans: I see you. You are made in the image of God, and you’re worthy of respect and dignity.” Politics aside, except this is nothing short of politics, Biden’s blasphemy is using a little bit of truth to make a better lie. This is exactly how satan twists the Word of God to lead people astray. The leftists and sexual anarchists melted over Biden’s kind words toward the trans community. They swell up with pride at the thought that Biden is showing the world that trans people are made in the image of God. But Biden conveniently leaves out the rest of the story, which is found in Romans 1. Verses 20-21: “…so that they are without excuse. Because that, when they knew God, they glorified Him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.” Verse 24 says that by their lusts they dishonored their bodies. Verse 25, “They changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator,” and Verse 26, “For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections.” Both men and women changed their natural use to that “which is against nature.” Verse 28 says, “God gave them over to a reprobate mind.” The rest of the chapter and Romans 2:1-6 speaks of their immorality and that without repentance the judgment of God is inescapable. Yes, we are made in the image of God, but we all have choices. Biden is choosing to placate and appease those in deep sin for political gain when, as a world leader, he could be helping them see the light of Christ. This is a terrible thing. Maybe as humans we can forgive the likes of Biden. But unlike man forgiving, God’s forgiveness is what counts. What also counts is that we, as Christians, do not forget what this man and likely a large majority of his party’s leadership has done. Galatians 6:7 says, “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.” It’s one thing that God will have his way with Biden and those who mock God. In this country, we also can have a say with our vote. On this one very issue, Christians should make their voice heard across the land as a harvest of what Biden sowed. Sadly, there will be many deceived people who claim to be Christians that will believe what Biden and his ilk did is very pleasing to God. Christ asked in John 8:43, “Why do you not understand what I am saying?” And he answered his own question in verse 44, “You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out his desires.” Let’s be direct: What Biden did is a mockery of God. To believe he is a hero to the lost is, say it with me…Stupidocrisy. Maybe it was in a tree, a closet, or some other place where you could be alone. God wants to be our hiding place. He wants to be the One to whom we turn in our time of need or when we’re afraid. He wants to be the One to whom we go when we can no longer cope. The psalmist David wrote, “From the ends of the earth, I cry to you for help when my heart is overwhelmed. Lead me to the towering rock of safety” (Psalm 61:2 NLT). God wants us to run to Him for safety, just as a small child would run to a parent in times of danger. And we are living in dangerous times, aren’t we? There’s a constant threat of violence. We have a violent crime epidemic. There’s the constant threat of theft, robbery, or even death. Then, there is a global threat as we hear of dictators and nations getting nuclear capabilities. This world is a threatening place, and it can paralyze us with fear. Yet God promises that He will protect us if we make Him our refuge if we make Him our hiding place. Psalm 91 is one of the greatest psalms in all the Bible; it contains God’s promises of protection and provision for believers. It also includes a comforting promise of angelic protection: “For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go. They will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone” (Psalm 91:11–12 NLT). When the devil tempted Jesus in the wilderness, this is the Scripture he quoted. But he distorted it. He misconstrued it. Show me any cult, any group today that has aberrant teachings, and I will show you people who have taken Scripture out of its proper context. Satan quoted Scripture to Jesus, but it was out of context. In essence, he was saying, “Jump! Go ahead! The angels will catch You. You don’t have to be afraid.” But Jesus set the record straight. He said, “The Scriptures also say, ‘You must not test the Lord your God’ ” (Matthew 4:7 NLT). This demonstrates that we cannot do crazy, reckless things and expect to receive angelic protection. There is a vast difference between trusting the Lord and testing the Lord. But if we walk in the center of God’s will and desire to please Him, then indeed, the Bible promises angelic protection. Psalm 34:7 tells us, “For the angel of the Lord is a guard; he surrounds and defends all who fear him” (NLT). We just don’t know how many times angels have delivered us, protected us from harm, or perhaps even spoken directly to us. As Hebrews 1:14 points out, “Therefore, angels are only servants—spirits sent to care for people who will inherit salvation” (NLT). Among other things, angels have on their itinerary a call to minister to us as children of God.
