This past week, The Times of Israel reported that Turkish President Recep Erdogan laid the blame squarely on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for Iran’s large-scale attack on Israel earlier this month. “The main one responsible for the tension that gripped our hearts on the evening of April 13 is Netanyahu and his bloody administration,” Erdogan declared. He further went on to say, “Those who have been silent for months about Israel’s aggressive attitude immediately condemned the Iranian response, but it’s Netanyahu himself who is the first who should be condemned.” It is pretty sad that Erdogan won’t admit that Iran is the leading state sponsor of terror in the Middle East, and because of their hatred for Israel, they are hellbent on destroying the Jewish State The truth is that the Iranian regime, which some call “the head of the octopus,” has their tentacles all around Israel. Iran funds and props up its terrorist proxies, with Hezbollah in southern Lebanon possessing over 150,000 rockets, all pointed toward Israel. Iran also has proxies in Iraq, Syria, Gaza with Hamas and Islamic Jihad, and in Yemen with the Houthis, all with one goal: eliminating the Jewish State. President Erdogan, an Islamist, has chosen to support Hamas’ demonic massacre on October 7 and Iran’s attack on the Jewish state with over 300 drones, cruise, and ballistic missiles. He has no problem with these horrible events, but he does have a problem with Israel, especially when they defend themselves. This shouldn’t surprise students of God’s Word. Setting The Stage for Ezekiel 38 The Bible, in Ezekiel 38 and 39, tells us that things need to move in this direction. These chapters speak of a future attack on Israel from the north with the three main players—Russia, Iran, and Turkey. Knowing this, we shouldn’t expect any warm relations between these countries and Israel. In Ezekiel 38:8, we read: “After many days you will be visited. In the latter years [that is yet to come] you will come into the land of those brought back from the sword and gathered from many people on the mountains of Israel, which had long been desolate; they were brought out of the nations, and now all of them dwell safely. The above verse describes the Jewish people being regathered back to the land and says there will come a time when Israel will “dwell safely.” There’s much discussion about the timing of the Ezekiel 38-39 battle. Some place it before the Rapture, some after but before the Tribulation. Some place it at the end of the Tribulation. I believe that it takes place in the early parts of the Tribulation period when the peace treaty of Daniel 9:27 is signed between the Antichrist and Israel, allowing them, in the early stages, to dwell safely in their land with neither bars nor gates. A state of “dwelling safely” and unwalled is not the current situation we see in Israel. A mosquito can’t even enter Israel’s airspace today without them knowing it. Verses 9-12 continue: “You [speaking of this anti-Israel coalition of nations] will ascend, coming like a storm, covering the land like a cloud, you and all your troops and many peoples with you. ‘Thus says the Lord God: “On that day it shall come to pass that thoughts will arise in your mind, and you will make an evil plan: You will say, ‘I will go up against a land of unwalled villages; I will go to a peaceful people, who dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates’— to take plunder and to take booty, to stretch out your hand against the waste places that are again inhabited, and against a people gathered from the nations, who have acquired livestock and goods, who dwell in the midst of the land.” Again, Russia, Turkey, and Iran are the three main players. Sudan and Libya are also in that mix. Verse 13 mentions “Sheba and Dedan,” where the modern nation of Saudi Arabia is today, protesting this invasion. This, too, is similar to what we’re seeing happening today. It’s incredible to see God’s Word coming to pass. According to Al Majalla, a London-based Arab political news journal, “By the end of the first half of 2022, the number of foreign military bases and locations [speaking within Syria] had reached a total of 830 sites, distributed as follows: Iran 570, Turkey 125, Russia 105, US-led coalition 30.” Friends, Russia, Turkey, and Iran are on Israel’s doorstep and have been developing quite a friendship with one another over the years. God Alone Predicts the Future Everything that we see happening is setting the stage for this war to be fulfilled, I believe, in the near future. Here we are today, reading what the prophet Ezekiel wrote some 2,500 years ago, speaking of the very things we are witnessing. What does that tell me? It tells me that God’s word is powerful—it’s about real people, real places, and real events—therefore, we can trust it with all our hearts. When God Says in Isaiah 45:22, “Look to Me, and be saved, All you ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other,” we better take heed and turn to Israel’s Messiah, Yeshua, the only way to be saved from our sins and have the gift of eternal life. Bible prophecy shouldn’t scare us but prepare us and drive us into the arms of Jesus because His Word is truth, and he alone predicts the future. I think of Isaiah 42:9, where God says, “Behold, the former things have come to pass, And new things I declare; Before they spring forth I tell you of them.” In other words, God alone predicts the future, and the things that we see happening in our world today line up with what we read in God’s Word. Amazing! What Becomes of The Enemies Of Israel? So, what is the fate of these invaders who are coming upon the land of Israel in the near future? Let’s look at Ezekiel 39:3-4: “Then I will knock the bow out of your left hand, and cause the arrows to fall out of your right hand. You shall fall upon the mountains of Israel, you and all your troops and the peoples who are with you; I will give you to birds of prey of every sort and to the beasts of the field to be devoured.” Well, there you have it. If Iran, Turkey, Russia, and Israel’s enemies really want to come against the Jewish State, they would be better off aiming their weapons at the sun, moon, and stars to try to destroy them because God says in Jeremiah 31:35-36 that as long as they are intact, Israel will not cease from being a nation before God. That means forever—period! The Wave of Repercussions as The Middle East Fights “The Last War”’ I predicted that a multi-front war was about to develop between Israel and various Muslim nations including Lebanon and Iran. I noted: “Israel is going to pound Gaza into gravel, there’s no doubt about that. A ground invasion will meet far more resistance than the Israelis seem to expect, but Israel controls the air and Gaza is a fixed target with limited territory. The problem for them is not the Palestinians, but the multiple war fronts that will open up if they do what I think they are about to do (attempted sanitization). Lebanon, Iran and Syria will immediately engage and Israel will not be able to fight them all…” So far, both Lebanon and Iran have directly engaged Israeli military forces and civilian targets. Syrian militias are also declaring they will once again start attacking US military bases in the region. In my article ‘World War III Is Now Inevitable – Here’s Why It Can’t Be Avoided’ published on April 5th I noted that: “I warned months ago…that the war in Gaza would expand into a multi-front conflict that would probably include Iran. I also warned that it would be to Israel’s benefit if Iran entered the war because this would eventually force the US to become directly involved. To be sure, Iran has already been engaging in proxy attacks on Israel through Lebanon, but Israel’s attack on the Iranian “embassy” or diplomatic station in Syria basically ensures that Iran will now directly commit to strikes on Israeli targets.” Iran did indeed commit to a large scale missile and drone based attack on Israel, a situation which has had some curious consequences. Of course, US naval forces aided Israel’s Iron Dome in shooting down the majority of drones and missiles sent by Iran. However, even though there are several videos showing that some cruise missiles hit their targets, the Israelis have been reticent to admit that any damage was done. I suspect it’s because the cruise missiles struck military targets instead of civilian targets and Israel doesn’t want to release any information on what was hit. Iran’s drones were likely meant to act as decoys for anti-air defenses. They are much cheaper than the missiles used by Israel and the US to shoot them down. Whether or not these strikes had any real affect on Israeli offensive capabilities we’ll probably never know. What we do know is that Israel’s counter-strike was much smaller than most analysts expected. Does this mean that the tit-for-tat is over and both sides are going hands-off? That would probably be the smart decision, but no, that’s not what’s happening here. Israel’s limited response was likely due to a lack of clarity on how much the US government under Biden is willing to participate in the war during an election year. What we will see in the next six months is a steady escalation towards winter, followed by new bombardments with far more extensive destruction than we recently witnessed. In other words, spring is just the dress rehearsal for what will happen in winter. Here are the most probable scenarios as 2024 rolls forward… Air Strikes on Iran I have little doubt that Israel will commit to extensive aerial strikes on Iran this year or very early in 2025, and we’ll see very quickly if Russian air defense technology sold to the Iranians is effective or ineffective. Iran’s drone program may be useful in helping to even the playing field against Israeli fighter jets, but then again, the technology gap could be extensive. The Israeli public position will be that their strikes are focused on taking down any existing Iranian nuclear labs. There is no solid evidence that Iran has made much headway in developing nukes (they might have dirty bombs), but the notion of nukes is more than enough in terms of public relations and justification for the war. Iran Blocks the Strait of Hormuz The Strait of Hormuz would be at the top of the list of primary targets for Iran. It is the narrowest point of access to the Persian Gulf and oversees the passage of around 25%-30% of the world’s total oil exports. Blocking it is relatively easy – All Iran has to do is sink a few tankers into the shallow waters or destroy enemy ships passing through, creating a barrier that will make transport of oil impossible. This would also make naval operations for Israel or the US difficult. Clearing obstructions would take time and expose forces to Iranian artillery which can be fired from up to 450 miles away. Once artillery is locked in on a narrow point or pasage, nothing is going to get through. As we’ve seen in Ukraine, a blanket of artillery fire is essentially unstoppable. Anti-ship missiles wouldn’t even be necessary and would probably prove less effective, unless they are hypersonic. Iran can also utilize its small fleet of diesel submarines to deploy naval mines in the strait. Once the Hormuz is disrupted and global oil shipments slow down the US military will join the war if they haven’t done so already. Israeli Attack Leads to Ground War with Iran/Lebanon A ground war between Iran and Israel is inevitable if the tit-for-tat continues, and much of it will be fought (at least in the beginning) in Lebanon and perhaps Syria. Iran has a mutual defense pact with both countries and Lebanon is generally a proxy for Iranian defense policy. Iran will have active troops or proxy forces in all of these regions, not to mention the Houthis in Yemen striking ships in the Red Sea. There are questions in terms of how Iraq will respond to this situation, but there’s not a lot of love between the current government and Israel or the US. The Iraq government did not initially condemn the attack by Hamas against Israel on October 7th and has voiced support for the Palestinians in Gaza. It’s unlikely that they would willingly allow the use of their territory for projecting an offensive against Iran. The use of Saudi Arabian and Kuwaiti territory is possible for invasion IF the US gets involved, and the Persian Gulf would be a primary point of attack. But, both the US and Israel lack enough regional bases needed to project large scale ground forces into Iran (keep in mind that bases in Afghanistan are now gone). Turkey is another staging ground for US forces but they certainly don’t like Israel, meaning Turkey is going to be off limits. Like Iraq, I think it will be difficult to convince Turkey, a vocal defender of Gaza, to support an invasion force or exploit their border for operations. What about Pakistan? No, not a chance. It’s important to remember that many of these nations have worked with the US in the past, but they have angry populations to deal with. Support for an attack on Iran could lead to civil unrest at home. The war would mostly be fought by air and by sea with US and Israel seeking to dominate the Persian Gulf. A lot of the ground fighting will be done in neighboring countries. A direct invasion of Iran would be an exhaustive affair with mountain terrain that must be reached by going through allied territories. Can it be done? Yes. Could the US and Israel/allies win? Yes, as long as the goal is destruction and not occupation. Would it be costly? Absolutely. Far too costly to be acceptable to the western public these days, and a war that would require extensive military recruitment or a draft which Americans in particular will not tolerate. Gas Prices Skyrocket Think gas prices are high now? Just wait until 25% of the world oil exports are locked out of the market for months at a time. We might see double the prices at the pump; perhaps even triple, and that’s not counting the inflationary conditions already ongoing in the west. This would be a disaster for the economy as energy prices affect EVERYTHING else. Costs on the shelf will climb right along with oil. Military Draft and Attacks On Liberty Activists Below the surface, there are many benefits to expanding the war in the Middle East for the globalists. War can be blamed for the inflationary collapse they created. War can be used as an excuse to implement even more aggressive censorship standards in Europe and the US. War can be used to create a military draft which will trigger great unrest in the US and some parts of the EU. War could invariably be used to rationalize martial law. And, it could even be used to stall or disrupt elections. At bottom, the war in Ukraine, the war in the Middle East and the many other regional wars that will probably erupt in the next few years have a cumulative effect that causes confusion and chaos. All that is needed is a short period of disarray and a lot of economic panic and the public may even forget who created the mess in the first place Liberty activists caught in the middle of these events will take action to defend their freedoms, and I have no doubt we will be accused of “aiding foreign enemies” or working as “agents of the Russians, Iranians, etc.” Russian Involvement and World War Given that NATO has seen fit to engage in a proxy war in Ukraine it makes sense that Russia would return the favor and engage in a proxy war in Iran. Don’t be surprised to see a lot of discussion in the media in the coming months about Russian “advisers” in Iran as well as Russian weaponry. Russia already has military bases in Syria and defense agreements with Iran. It would appear that the US and allies are being set on a collision course with Russia that will lead to direct kinetic interactions. At this stage world war will already be well underway. Russia and the US may never actually try to strike each other’s territory and nuclear exchange makes little sense for anyone (especially the globalists who would lose their financial and surveillance empire in the blink of an eye) but they will be fighting each other in regional wars in multiple spots across the globe. You might want to think about that, because experts are warning that it is just a matter of time before cyberattacks successfully cripple our power grids. In fact, foreign hackers are working hard to infiltrate critical infrastructure as you read this article. As you will see below, we are extremely vulnerable, and the Russians and the Chinese have both developed highly advanced cyberwarfare capabilities. When the U.S. ends up fighting a war with Russia or China (or both simultaneously), devastating cyberattacks on our power grids will be conducted. When your community is suddenly plunged into darkness, what is your plan? The United States and Canada are not covered by a single power grid. Rather, there are multiple grids that collectively provide the electricity that all of us need. The following explanation comes from Wikipedia… The electrical power grid that powers Northern America is not a single grid, but is instead divided into multiple wide area synchronous grids.[1] The Eastern Interconnection and the Western Interconnection are the largest. Three other regions include the Texas Interconnection, the Quebec Interconnection, and the Alaska Interconnection. Each region delivers power at a nominal 60 Hz frequency. The regions are not usually directly connected or synchronized to each other, but there exist some HVDC interconnectors. The Eastern and Western grids are connected via seven links that allow 1.32 GW to flow between them. A study by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory found that increasing these interconnections would save energy costs.[2] Bloomberg is reporting that “US power grids are facing heightened risks of cyber and physical attacks as the election nears”, and one expert is warning that there is “a 100 percent chance” that critical infrastructure will eventually be breached at some point… “I think there’s a 100 percent chance that organizations in the critical infrastructure space at some point will experience some short of breach,” said Stephanie Benoit Kurtz, lead cybersecurity faculty at the College of Business and Information Technology at the University of Phoenix. “No longer are the days when organizations can say, ‘We’ll never be breached.’ It’s not if, it’s when.” Sadly, I believe that she is quite correct. We should have never exposed our power grids to the Internet, and now we are incredibly vulnerable. During a recent congressional hearing, FBI Director Christopher Wray publicly admitted that Chinese hackers have been targeting our power grids… FBI Director Christopher Wray said Wednesday that China’s hackers are targeting American critical infrastructure, including water treatment plants, pipelines and the power grid, to be able to “wreak havoc” in the U.S. if Beijing ever decides to do so. Testifying before the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party, Wray also warned that there has been too little public attention on the threat that he says China’s efforts pose to national security. “China’s hackers are positioning on American infrastructure in preparation to wreak havoc and cause real-world harm to American citizens and communities, if and when China decides the time has come to strike,” Wray told lawmakers. This is a very real threat. The moment that China invades Taiwan, the U.S. and China will be at war. And the Office of the Director of National Intelligence has warned that ““if Beijing feared that a major conflict with the United States were imminent, it almost certainly would consider undertaking aggressive cyber operations against U.S. homeland critical infrastructure and military assets worldwide.” Most Americans don’t realize that the groundwork for such cyber operations is already being laid. For example, last August Chinese hackers specifically targeted the Texas power grid… The report says that, in August, hackers attempted to access the computer systems used by the Public Utility Commission of Texas, or the PUC, and the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, or ERCOT, which operate the state’s power grid. Most of Texas is on its own power grid, separate from the grids used by most of the country. If you think that our systems are secure, you are just being delusional. The truth is that we are extremely vulnerable, and the North American Electric Reliability Corporation admits that the number of weak spots is growing with each passing day… U.S. power grids are increasingly vulnerable to cyberattacks, with the number of susceptible points in electrical networks increasing by about 60 per day, the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) said in a webcast on Thursday. The grids’ virtual and physical weak spots, or points in software or hardware that are susceptible to cyber criminals, grew to a range of 23,000 to 24,000 last year from 21,000 to 22,000 by the end of 2022, executives with the energy regulator said. “It’s very hard to keep pace with addressing all those vulnerabilities,” said Manny Cancel, senior vice president of NERC. But foreign entities wouldn’t even need to gain access through a weak spot if there are already back doors in place. According to one analysis, “about 90 percent of software used to manage the U.S. power grid is linked to Russian and Chinese developers”… Orlando based Fortress Information Security explained that any “kid” with internet can contribute their “block” that then can be developed into software used in America’s critical infrastructure. A “block”, one of these code components, can risk the whole structure– our energy grid. “A Chinese agent or a Russian agent can install backdoors into one of these components. And then unbeknownst to a software manufacturer, you grab this component, which has been tampered with and poisoned by Russian or Chinese actor and now they put that component into their software, and it ends up in our electrical grid or, or an oil rig,” said Alex Santos, CEO of Fortress Information Security. The company analyzed nearly 8,000 of these open-source components. 13 percent had contributions from Russia and China. Fortress found about 90 percent of software used to manage the U.S. power grid is linked to Russian and Chinese developers—something that can make it three times as likely to contain critical vulnerabilities. How in the world did we allow that to happen? Are we really that incompetent? I was floored when I first read that. I had no idea that we were so vulnerable. Of course it isn’t just our power infrastructure that is being targeted. According to Politico, Europe has been “inundated” with cyberattacks since Russia invaded Ukraine… Thousands of cyberattacks have inundated Europe’s energy grid since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, and a top industry leader is calling for help as officials and researchers fret that not nearly enough is being done. “The crooks are becoming better by the day, so we need to become better by the day,” Leonhard Birnbaum, the chief executive of E.ON, one of Europe’s largest utilities, said in an interview. “I’m worried now and I will be even more worried in the future.” We have never seen this sort of warfare before. So most people greatly underestimate the threat. But someday the power in your area could suddenly go out without any warning whatsoever. Temporary interruptions are not a problem, but if the power is out for an extended period of time our entire way of life will start rapidly shutting down… When power stops, life grinds to a halt. Lights go out. Sewage treatment stops. Clean water stops. Electric cars, buses and trolleys stop. Elevators stop, trapping older and disabled people. For many, home heating, refrigeration, cooking and clothes washing stops, along with medical devices such as oxygen generators. For many years, I have been warning my readers that conflict with Russia and conflict with China would be coming. Now both of them are actively hacking into power infrastructure in the United States and Europe. I hope you have a plan, because it is just a matter of time before cyberattacks start causing widespread chaos all over the globe. One of the first images that comes to mind for most people is a beautiful bride, adorned in white. We might also think of a woman who has kept herself pure, awaiting that blessed day when two will become one under the provisions of God’s marriage covenant. In the Scriptures, we know that the church is the bride of Christ. But during this time when we are awaiting the upward call of our Bridegroom, how are we living? After all, every bride looks forward to her wedding day with great anticipation. In ancient Jewish weddings, while the bride-to-be was excitedly waiting for her beloved to return from building a place for them, she was being observed for moral purity. Ephesians 5:25-27 reads: “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.” The Greek word for “without blemish” is “amomos” and it means that the purity obtained is of the highest quality and without any defect whatsoever. It is interesting that the same word is used in 1 Peter 1:19 where Christ is described “as of a lamb without blemish”. This is the marvel of imputed righteousness! We who were blemished, spotted, wrinkled, defiled and on our way to a Christless eternity have now been made perfect, unblemished, undefiled, spotless, sanctified and soon to be glorified, all because we have been washed clean through the blood of Jesus. But with this knowledge comes responsibility. Just as the earthly bride was expected to remain morally pure while waiting for her bridegroom, the church is commanded to remain spiritually pure. In 2 Peter 3 we read these words:
One of the most potent weapons Satan has at his disposal to tempt the bride of Christ to commit spiritual adultery is false teachers. 2 Peter 2:13-14: “They are spots and blemishes, carousing in their own deceptions while they feast with you, having eyes full of adultery and that cannot cease from sin, enticing unstable souls.” Notice the language – whereas the sanctified bride of Christ is to be presented without spot or blemish, the seductive false teacher is identified by having those very spots and blemishes. If we are properly anticipating our wedding day, that anticipation should lead us to be forsaking spiritual adultery and fixing our eyes on Jesus. Titus 2:11-14 says this: “For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.“ In the book of Esther, the events begin with the Persian King Ahasuerus searching for a new queen. Eligible virgins throughout the provinces were gathered but they did not meet the king immediately. Intense preparations needed to be undertaken. Esther 2:12 reads: “Each young woman’s turn came to go in to King Ahasuerus after she had completed twelve months’ preparation, according to the regulations for the women, for thus were the days of their preparation apportioned: six months with oil of myrrh, and six months with perfumes and preparations for beautifying women.“ Well, the time frame and preparations may seem excessive to us, but it demonstrates the seriousness with which those in the king’s court took to meticulously prepare the women to be deemed fit to be part of the king’s consort. When they entered that throne room, they were to be presented as the absolute best version of themselves they could be. It made me think – while we remain on this earth during the period of our betrothal to the King of Kings, are we taking it seriously? Are we being meticulous in our preparation. Are we redeeming the time as the Scriptures command? Are we choosing to be a holy people, set apart for our Bridegroom? I will end by affirming the wonderful truth about Jesus to those who may not know Him. Whilst the virgins of Persia had to be purified before they met the king, you can come to the King of Kings just as you are and He will cleanse you. You don’t need to do anything other than ask Him to wash you clean and purify you with His shed blood. Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready.” And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.“ Daily Jot: Dismantling the deep state - Bill Wilson – www.dailyjot.com The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) has taken steps to solidify the deep state (administrative state) by publishing a final rule that protects government employees from losing their jobs in the event of administration changes after a presidential election. The new rule is in response to former President Trump’s efforts when he was president to remove government employees who were advancing the administrative state rather than serving the will of the people. The OPM’s new rule protects thousands of government employees that Trump may have fired due to their efforts to use federal agencies to undermine laws, constitutional rights, and impose undue regulation and bureaucracy on citizens. Trump had created a “Schedule F” to reclassify thousands of government employees as political appointees, making it easier to fire them. The OPM stated, “In the first week of the Biden-Harris Administration, President Biden revoked an Executive Order issued by the previous Administration that risked altering our country’s long-standing merit-based civil service system, by creating new excepted service schedule, known as “Schedule F,” and directing agencies to move potentially large swathes of career employees into this new excepted service status. This attempt would have stripped career civil servants of their civil service protections that ensure that decisions to hire and fire are based on merit, not political considerations.” What it really does is cauterize the employment of leftists seeking to undermine the Republic. The closer to the election, the more nervous the Biden Administration is about having a new president remove leftist hires trying to remake the government into a statist entity. OPM’s Deputy Director Jason Miller openly admitted this in his statement, saying, “As part of the President’s Management Agenda, it is a clear policy of the United States government to protect, empower, and rebuild the career federal workforce, and this final rule does just that.” The left has caught wind of a Heritage Foundation effort called The 2025 Presidential Transition Project (Project 2025) working on an implementation plan to “pave the way for an effective conservative administration: a policy agenda, personnel, training, and a 180-day playbook.” Project 2025 seeks to fundamentally reorient the Executive Branch. This represents the first time in history conservatives have planned to systematically dismantle the unconstitutional fourth branch of government known as the Administrative State or Deep State. To help them achieve this, they are recruiting, vetting and training over 4,000 conservatives to implement this vision. Project 2025 seeks to restore Constitutional government—the very thing Joe Biden and his party of leftists want to prevent and they are attacking Project 2025 as a plan to implement American Fascism. After Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden and disobeyed God, He barred them from the Tree of Life. God didn’t want them to live forever in the state they were in. You might say these are the only two unchallengeably true facts that apply to every human being on this planet.” All of us are getting older. It’s just the reality. We cannot stop the march of time. We cannot turn back the clock. Therefore, what happens to us when we die? Jesus dealt with this question. He said, “And I assure you that the time is coming, indeed it’s here now, when the dead will hear my voice—the voice of the Son of God. And those who listen will live. The Father has life in himself, and he has granted that same life-giving power to his Son” (John 5:25–26 NLT). Before I was a Christian, I didn’t really have any faith to speak of. My belief as a sixteen-year-old kid was that I would cease to exist after death. And that terrified me. I thought, “How could it be that I could simply cease to exist?” Thinking about it kept me up at night. And one of the great things I experienced after I became a Christian was to realize there is life beyond the grave. Death is not the end of existence. The real you is not this body you live in; it is your soul. It is your spirit that lives on after your body has gone. History tells of the renowned atheist Voltaire, who was one of the most aggressive antagonists of the Christian faith. He did everything he could to undermine Christianity. But the nurse who attended him on his deathbed reportedly said that for all the wealth in Europe, she never would watch another atheist die. In contrast, the great evangelist Dwight L. Moody said on his deathbed, “I see earth receding; Heaven is opening; God is calling me.” You can die like Voltaire. Or, you can die like Moody. But there will be a future judgment. And if you have put your faith in Jesus Christ, then you won’t be there.
