On Apr. 25, 2024, by a vote of 357-20, the European Parliament passed a resolution:
These steps are important and long overdue, but years of watching the international community let Iran get away with violating sanctions and agreements has made me a skeptic. (My opinion: Iran will likely sell its oil to Russia, China, or some other country; that country will sell the oil to a U.S. company at a higher price; U.S. citizens will pay the difference at a gas station, and nothing will be done about it; Iran will continue as usual. It’s about time they did something that makes a difference.) Here are some recent articles that seem to indicate that the end of the age is close. One, concerning hostages, Muslims keeping agreements, the decline of America, etc.: on Apr. 25, 2024, the U.S. was one of 17 nations that urged Hamas to release all the hostages it took when it attacked Israel on Oct. 7, 2023. Hamas responded, “No. You can’t force us to do anything.” The 17 nations are: the United States, Argentina, Austria, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Colombia, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Spain, Thailand, and the United Kingdom. It is about time they realize that placating Islamic terrorists does not work. Two, concerning Israel’s coming invasion of Rafah: on Apr. 26, 2024, it was reported that Hugh Lovatt, a senior policy fellow at the European Council on Foreign Relations, said, “My assessment is that Hamas in Gaza will survive the Rafah operation. It has been a long time coming, and the military wing will have been preparing for this… to a certain extent, they will be able to regroup in the central part of Gaza and the north.” Giving Hamas time to prepare and survive seems to be what Biden wanted by forcing Israel to delay the attack. Biden has allowed Hamas time to regroup: stock up on weapons, ammunition, medical supplies, food, water, etc.; booby-trap, fortify, and disguise the tunnels, and more. His efforts to protect Hamas will make the war more difficult for Israel and get more Israeli soldiers killed. (More: On Apr. 26, 2024, White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said it’s “not clear” that it’s even possible for Israel to have “a credible plan” for an invasion of Rafah that the White House would support.) (More: On Apr. 28, 2024, former U.S. senator and candidate for Pres. of the U.S, Rick Santorum, said, “To him (Pres. Biden), it’s all about winning elections, and he is willing to throw Israel under the bus.” Santorum added, “President Biden is doing everything he can to pressure Israel into doing things that are not in their national security interests. He is doing everything he can to support Iran as being the power in the Middle East.”) (My opinion: The White House will not support a plan that does not include the Two-State Solution – division of Israel – and Prime Min. Netanyahu will not agree to that. Netanyahu’s resistance is why Biden keeps trying to undermine him. Biblically speaking, the division of Israel is not in anyone’s interest; Joel 3:2.) Three, concerning the Two-State Solution and the controversy over Jerusalem: on Apr. 29, 2024, it was reported that several EU nations will recognize a Palestinian State that includes the West Bank, the Gaza Strip, and East Jerusalem at the end of May despite Israeli opposition. According to the European Council President, their goal is to trigger significant progress toward peace in the Middle East. Israel has already said it will reject any unilateral recognition of a Palestinian State. Four, on Apr. 29, 2024, U.S. Sec. of State Blinken met with Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (MBS), and MBS announced that the Saudis will normalize relations with Israel in exchange for guarantees that there is a Palestinian State at some point in the future. MBS was saying:
According to the Bible, the Tribulation Period will begin when the Antichrist confirms a worthless 7-year treaty, and that may be shaping up. (My opinion: Iran and her terrorist proxies and allies will try to thwart this.) Five, concerning the violence and hatred toward Jews on college campuses: mobs of hate-filled students (and some college professors) are threatening to harm or kill Jews, disrupting classes, forcing Jews to leave the campus, forcing Jews to take classes online, calling for the destruction of Israel, calling for the destruction of America, calling for a repeat of Oct. 7 (rape of women, beheading babies, seizing hostages), etc. On Apr. 24, 2024, Mike Johnson (U.S. Speaker of the House) called the demonstrations at Columbia University “disgusting and unacceptable,” and he called for the Pres. of Columbia University to resign. On Apr. 24, 2024, Israeli Prime Min. Netanyahu said, “What’s happening on America’s college campuses is horrific. Anti-Semitic mobs have taken over leading universities. They call for the annihilation of Israel. They attack Jewish students. They attack Jewish faculty – it is reminiscent of what happened in German universities in the 1930s.” (More: On Apr. 26, 2024, it was reported that Columbia University expelled a student when a video of him was unearthed that has him saying, “Zionists don’t deserve to live.”) (My opinion: It’s about time they acted. It seems to me that calling for the death of Jews and people who support Israel is hate speech.) (My opinion: Satan wants to destroy Israel to make the Scriptures wrong and to prevent the Second Coming. It is impossible for him to succeed at this.) (My opinion: Even though I am aware that some officials have good reason to believe that foreigners (and some U.S. haters such as the George Soros clan) are paying these protestors to harm America (and America’s relationship with Israel), something else is going through my mind: At the end of the age, God will cause multitudes of Jews to leave the nations they are in and to return to the Promised Land. The demonstrators are unwittingly fulfilling Bible prophecy that is a prelude to the Rapture and Tribulation Period.) Six, because of complaints that Israel was hindering the flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza, the U.S. decided to build a pier in Gaza so ships can deliver aid. U.S. troops working on the pier came under attack, and Israel agreed to protect them. On Apr. 24, 2024, while UN officials were touring the pier to observe its construction, terrorists in Gaza started firing rockets at them, and the Israeli army rescued them. (My opinion: The fact that Israel has to protect U.S. troops and UN officials while the U.S. and UN are trying to get humanitarian aid to the Palestinians is incredible. It reveals that a big part of the aid problem is Hamas, not Israel.) Seven, concerning world government: on Apr. 28, 2023, it was reported that “Muslims across Europe are chanting Allahu Akbar and discussing ways to form a global Sharia law (Islamic world government) by force.” Sadly, the Muslim groups that are behind this movement to take over the world are not banned. Eight, concerning pestilence killing multitudes at the end of the age: on Apr. 23, 2024, it was reported that open border policies (like what is happening in the U.S.) are spreading pestilence around the world. In many cases, government officials are spreading the diseases by transporting infected illegals to various cities in their nation and refusing to track them. Diseases that were once thought to be extinct (or almost extinct) are on the rise, and apparently, many officials are unconcerned. Nine, concerning the Battle of Gog and Magog: on Apr. 26, 2024, Russia’s Defense Minister notified Iran’s Defense Minister that Russia is ready to expand its military and technical cooperation with Iran. Ten, concerning the coming cashless society: a recent report by the World Economic Forum says, “Over 98 percent of the global economy’s central banks are researching, piloting or deploying central bank digital currency (CBDC).” This is a necessary step toward tracking all buying and selling at the middle of the Tribulation Period. (Note: As I understand it, the central banks must start using CBDCs before they can force ordinary citizens to use them.) Eleven, concerning the coming economic collapse: on Apr. 28, 2024, it was reported that Ford sold 10,000 electric vehicles during the first 3 months of 2024, and it lost the equivalent of $132,000 for each vehicle sold. The Biden administration seems determined to force consumers to shift from gas-powered vehicles to electric vehicles. Twelve, concerning world government: society is now about one month away from the WHO meeting (May 27-June 1, 2024) when nations will cast their vote on the International Pandemic Treaty and amendments to the International Health Regulations (IHRs). Concerning the WHO Pandemic Agreement, the Family Research Council (FRC) has concluded that:

According to the Bible (Rev. 13:2-7), the world will be ruled by a satanic world government during the Tribulation Period, and the world is on the brink of a vote that will permit unelected godless people to establish one. Thirteen, concerning the tracking of all buying and selling during the Tribulation Period: a committee in the U.S. House of Representatives is investigating several U.S. government agencies (FBI, etc.) and at least 13 financial institutions (Bank of America, Chase, Citi Bank, Wells Fargo, etc.) for tracking what people bought following the J6 demonstrations at Dick’s Sporting Goods, Cabela’s, Bass Pro Shops, etc., without warrants. Without getting the required court permission, federal agencies apparently tracked the purchases of private citizens to see if they bought guns, knives, etc. Part of the problem appears to be that federal agencies haven’t limited their tracking of purchases to J6 citizens; they have also tracked millions of other citizens who hold conservative views (called white supremacists, white nationalists, etc.). Simply put, it looks like big government has started spying on average American citizens who are politically conservative (especially those who might oppose the globalist agenda or support Make America Great Again). Fourteen, concerning the destruction of Damascus in one night: on Apr. 29, 2024, it was reported that a Western diplomat said, “The Israelis clearly warned Assad (Syria’s Pres.) that if Syria was used against them (in Israel’s war with Hamas), they (Israel) would destroy his regime.” Hezbollah and Iran have attacked Israel from Syrian territory (and there are some Hamas terrorists in Syria), but Pres. Assad appears to have kept Syria’s troops out of the Israel-Hamas war. Fifteen, concerning pestilences at the end of the age: on Apr. 28, 2024, the Arizona Republican Party passed a resolution that says mRNA jabs are biological and technological weapons. The “Ban the Jab” resolution calls upon the governor and attorney general to analyze the vaccines and prevent their distribution. Some authorities believe people have committed murder by forcing others to take mRNA jabs. Sixteen, concerning corruption in Washington: on Apr. 29, 2024, it was reported that a South Carolina state representative said, “The federal government is including voter registration forms in packets at the Social Security Office in Spartanburg, South Carolina,” and the packages are being sent to non-citizen refugees. Seventeen, concerning world government: there are reports that the UN may restructure itself (called UN 2.0) at the Summit for the Future on Sept. 22-23, 2024, to speed up the development of world government. I cannot predict what they will do, but power must be given to Ten Kings before the Antichrist appears, and everything seems to indicate that he is waiting in the wings. The involvement of other nations involved in this invasion Here we find that there are 5 nations listed. First let’s look at Persia. It is interesting that when you confront most Iranians who come to the west and want to assimilate and live their lives here, they all refer to themselves as Persians. They want Americans to know that they are not a part of the Islamic militants, or a part of the Shiite fundamental Islamic Movement. Persia is Iran. Persia is mentioned 29 times in the Bible. Most of these references can be found in Esther, Ezra and Daniel. Persia has been a major political power in the past. It is now becoming a major player in these times. If you talk to the Israeli military officials, they are not as concerned about Egypt or Saudi Arabia or Syria, as they are concerned about Iran. The United Nations has now accepted the fact that Iran is pushing to develop nuclear weapons. Although they are prominently Moslems, Iranians are NOT Arabs. They are Persians. The actual name of Iran is Persia. When did it change to Iran? It changed to Iran in the 1930’s. Iran comes from the word Aryan. Aryans were Indo-Europeans who invaded northern India in the 2nd Millennium B.C., displacing the Dravidians and other aboriginal peoples. They are not Semitic peoples like Jews and Arabs. They are a Germanic people. Persians are of the same anthropological origin as Germans and Austrians. They settled in the near east and their influence from Northern India by the Indus River to the Fertile Crescent. Scripturally speaking, we must be cognizant of the fact that there are 3 things that can push back principalities over nations:
Thus, Iran will somehow become a threat to the very existence of Israel prior to the return of the LORD. The stage is being set for this. Even France who for the most part seemed to drag their feet in international affairs is now more prominently involved. (Interesting to note the recent shootings that took place in France.) This is and always has been a spiritual battle. Satan is trying to destroy Israel and prevent the return of Jesus Christ and Satan is now using Iran to destroy. Now if you look at what is taking place in the Ukraine and notice this involves Russia, the stage is being set for the prophetic fulfillment of Ezekiel 38-39! Iran may very possibly be the head of the Pan-Islamic empire that is forming. Russia is a co-signer to that as well as nine of the 15 former Soviet republics and most of their populations are Islamic. It is interesting that as this Islamic alliance is forming, Persia is mentioned first in this verse. Secondly, we have Ethiopia which appears 20 times in the Bible. It first appears in Genesis 2:13, where the river Gihon (the Nile River) goes over the land of Ethopia. In Hebrew it is the word “Cush.” Cush was the son of Ham. Genesis 10:8-11–And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth. 9 He was a mighty hunter before the Lord: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the Lord. 10 And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar. Cush had a son named Nimrod whose kingdom began as Babel or Babylon in the land of Shinar. And out of that land went forth Assher (Assyria) and built Nineveh and many other cities. Ezekiel 38 puts Ethiopia with Libya, Lydia & Egypt, Ethiopia being the main player. Most Bible scholars and experts in geography hasten to add that the ancient Ethiopian Empire covers a lot of land which is south of Egypt today. As a matter of fact, its primary territory is not the little country of Ethiopia that we see on our maps today. The primary territory is actually the country we know today as Sudan, that has slaughtered over 2 million Christians over the past few years. The third country is Libya, which is mentioned 3 times in the Bible. Some translations refer to it as “Put.” It is the modern country of Libya where which was part of the “Arab Spring,” which occurred last year. Notice the very nations that are mentioned here have recently experienced all kinds of economic/governmental upheaval in the last two years alone! It is also interesting to note that these three countries opposed all peace negotiations as it relates to the current Middle East Peace Process. We have 2 more nations. One is Gomer. Some people because they see the “G” immediately think its Germany. However in the Babylonian Talmud, Gomer refers to the Cimmerians and is rendered “Germania.” It is mentioned 6 times. He too is the son of Japheth according to Genesis 10:2. Genesis 10:2–The sons of Japheth; Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras. We do not know much about him although Israelis refer to him is being north, quite possibly from Europe. Then we have Togarmah, who is the son of Gomer. Togarmah is used four times Ezekiel 27:14–They of the house of Togarmah traded in thy fairs with horses and horsemen and mules. This refers to them as those who traded in thy fairs with horses and horsemen and mules. Many Bible scholars relate them to both Turkey and portions of Georgia, the areas between the Black Sea, the Caspian Sea. One obvious conclusion that can be made when one studies this from both a Jewish perspective and from Gentile Christian preachers is that: It is coming from the North & it apparently represents what today we know as countries that are aligned together by Islam. Israel considers radical Islam, which calls for the utter destruction of Israel as the greatest of all of its enemies. Currently Islam is the 2nd fastest growing religion in the world and 1 out of every 5 people in the world is muslim. I want to emphasize it is the radical or fundamental doctrine of Islam which is against Israel. I say this with sincere respect for many people I have known and love dearly who are muslim and do not follow that brand of Islam. I don’t know… Can’t say what it is… But it’s evil and has the world in turmoil…” Bongino goes through all that’s going on daily, dealing mostly with politics but including deep dives into cultural issues and the insanity he sees happening. He attributes it to some spirit –a zeitgeist of this strange time– in which everything is upside-down – filled with evil. He has claimed many times on air to know Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and Lord, all the while a Catholic. And I don’t doubt he is a true believer. This is not to judge him in this matter but rather to point to the fact that he does seem to have at least some insight into what the evil might entail that he and others believe they observe and sense is going on in this world. Bongino says consistently that many express to him they sense the same existent of an evil spiritual influence that is taking humanity down a destructive pathway. And this is what I would like to try to address in this commentary –thus the title Assessing the Antichrist spirit. John, the apostle who was perhaps closest to Jesus in brotherly relationship while the Lord was in physical flesh on Earth, was inspired to write the following. “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world” (1 John 4:1-3). That evil spirit that concerns Mr. Bongino and many of his friends and colleagues is made manifest by John’s Holy Spirit-inspired revelation. The spirit of Antichrist is as prevalent as in the apostle’s time of writing about it. Bongino says that wickedness he senses is “spiritual.” I don’t believe he knows that it is of the same “spirit” or spirituality of which John forewarned, however. Like so many secularists, he sees it as some spirit of the age, a zeitgeist ideological force from the human intellect that bubbles up from time to time to come against human rationality and interaction. The evil within humanity, I think he and others of the non-Holy-Spirit-influenced mind believe, is born out of those among us who want all others to come under their self-centered control. These seem to think it is out of some form of mental illness –a psychosis of some inexplicable description—that sets in motion the insanity that desires to inflict authoritarian madness. They are not far from wrong about it being an illness. It is a spiritual illness, the same disease that its first infected carrier deliberately accepted in place of God’s Perfect Order. Lucifer’s 5 “I wills” of Isaiah chapter 14 have brought forth the iniquity infecting and affecting the human race since he looked admiringly at himself into that mirror of iniquity. The so-called intellectual institutions of America –the elite higher education institutions– are particularly a collective focal point in considering just how powerfully influential is that spirit that will ultimately eventuate in the worst tyrant of all human history inflicting death and destruction upon humanity of the Tribulation era. Assessing the spirit of Antichrist at this moment leaves no other conclusion. The world is on the very edge of that man of sin, the son of perdition, the Antichrist himself being almost ready to step from the shadows of obscurity and onto the stage of man’s final years leading to Christ’s Second Coming. You can avoid facing that hideous creature from the Abyss by doing the following –thus going to Jesus Christ when He calls believers to Himself in the Rapture. “That if you will confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and will believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved. So church, we can cling to that wonderful promise just as a Jewish bride would have clung to the expectation that her bridegroom would return for her. And just as the bride did not know the day nor the hour, the phrase “I will come” reinforces the imminency of the rapture because it indicates a present tense in the Greek. In other words, it is so certain that Jesus can speak of it in any age in its present, not future tense. You see, we often get into the habit of thinking of the rapture as a future event but it is one that is ever imminent and always at hand. Just as the Jewish bride was to expect her bridegroom at any moment, so too must we expect Jesus at any moment. But while we wait, we should not let the enemy rob us of our joy or permit him to seduce us into spiritual adultery. As we await His upward call, it should be a purifying hope. 1 John 3:2-3: “Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.” That is why I am currently preaching a series on holiness. During the betrothal period of Jewish weddings, the bride was being observed for purity. Don’t you expect that Jesus is doing the same!? Now, when that moment arrives and Jesus comes to get His bride, I want you to note an important principle: He does not simply send for us, He said “I will receive you unto Myself”. Let me explain. Because it is all tied up in the Greek word paralambano which is related to the concept of betrothal and the personal nature of it. In the New Testament, we first encounter the word in Matthew 1:20: “But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take (paralambano) to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.” Also in Matthew 1:24: “Then Joseph, being aroused from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took (paralambano) to him his wife.” Nobody else received Mary – it was Joseph, her bridegroom, who received her personally. We see this same word used in John 14:3: “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive (paralambano) you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” So, when we understand some of the context of the use of the word “paralambano”, in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17, we can see a distinct harmony with John 14 (emphasis added): “For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trump of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.” In both passages (John 14 and 1 Thessalonians 4), we see Christ personally receiving His saints; in both, we see the relocation of believers from earth to heaven (from the bride’s home to the Father’s home); in both, we see truths that ease the troubled hearts of believers; and in both, we see the permanence of the union with Christ forevermore. Hallelujah! But there is growing opposition to the doctrine of the rapture within Christian circles. One American preacher I know of is becoming increasingly exasperated that we are not actively doing anything to prepare the bride of Christ to face the Tribulation Period. As a pastor who believes in a pre-Tribulation rapture, let me say this: I am not preparing the bride for wrath; I am preparing the bride for a wedding. I am not preparing the bride to have her garments stained by the wickedness of the world, I am preparing the bride to hold onto the purity and hope of Christ. I am not preparing the bride to live alongside the apostate church, I am preparing people to be counted amongst the raptured church. I am not preparing the bride to meet the Antichrist, I am preparing the bride to meet her Beloved – Jesus Christ! Daily Jot: Does your church support Palestinian terrorism? - Bill Wilson – www.dailyjot.com Many churches have issued statements condemning all forms of violence and antisemitism, but they selectively participate in the Boycott Divestment Sanctions (BDS) movement against Israel. In this current environment, supporting the Palestinian cause translates to Palestinian goals of annihilation of the Jewish people and Palestine from the river to the sea. Churches supporting Palestinian goals in any form are directly or indirectly supporting terrorism against Israel. Those who tithe and financially support these churches and organizations, are also supporting Palestinian terrorism. There is no moral equivalency of supporting the Palestinian state when it comes to Israel. God be the judge. The Palestinian movement is not built on the foundation of human rights as the prominent gaslighting by media and global leaders suggest, but rather is the excuse for terrorism with the ultimate goal of another holocaust. One only have to look at the mission of Hamas, the Palestinian Authority, Hezbollah and other terrorist groups funded by not only the world’s foremost sponsor of terrorism, Iran, but also the billions of dollars world governments, including the US, give in the name of humanitarianism while knowing full well that the money elevates terrorism against Israel. I have personally witnessed this since the 1980s as a staffer for congressmen assigned to the House Foreign Affairs Committee. Do not be deceived. Some, like the World Council of Churches, did support BDS, but later it changed direction when Israel wouldn’t let some members into the country to visit holy sites. But the direction had been cast and it appears that while no longer supporting BDS as a public policy, it is still an ally of a Palestinian state. If your church is a member of the WCC, take heed to where your gifts are going. Churches who stand against Israel by supporting the Palestinian mission in word or deed whether BDS or other means include: The Roman Catholic Church, United Church of Christ, United Methodist Church, Presbyterian Church (USA), Mennonite Church USA, Religious Society of Friends (Quakers), Church of the United Brethren in Christ, The Alliance of Baptists, Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, Episcopal Church, Unitarian Universalist Association and the World Communion of Reformed Churches. Psalm 35:19 says, “Let them not rejoice over me who are wrongfully my enemies; Nor let them wink with the eye who hate me without a cause.” Don’t’ wrongfully be an enemy of God by accepting the wink of those who say they condemn violence and antisemitism while they promote the very things they tell you they condemn. Whether they do so in ignorance, or willful ignorance or otherwise, there is a just and unjust, a holy and unholy line that dare not be crossed as it has eternal consequences. The LORD said he will bless them that bless Israel and curse him that curses Israel. This message is not meant in any way to offend. If it does, self-examination is in order. Christ is a Jewish rabbi. He kept the feasts and the laws of God, never denying them. As Christians we are grafted in, not replacing, Israel. Remember, God will be the judge. But maybe they’re just struggling believers. Even godly people can mess up. Even real Christians can make mistakes and sin against the Lord. The Bible even tells us, “If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth” (1 John 1:8 NLT). Sometimes, we confuse hypocrisy with humanity. We all will sin. And we all will fall short. But there is a difference between a struggling believer and a phony. Jesus used the term hypocrite, which means “actor,” for the religious leaders of His day. Now, there is nothing negative attached to the word actor when you’re talking about someone’s profession. But when Jesus used the term, He was referring to people who were pretending to be something they were not. They were putting on a performance. And that is not genuine faith. Jesus warned, “Don’t do your good deeds publicly, to be admired by others, for you will lose the reward from your Father in heaven” (Matthew 6:1 NLT). Or, as The Message puts it, “Be especially careful when you are trying to be good so that you don’t make a performance out of it. It might be good theater, but the God who made you won’t be applauding.” There are a lot of people who are putting on great performances as Christians, but they aren’t genuine. They are posers. But ultimately, it’s for God to decide who is who and what is what. But let’s understand that whenever there is the genuine, there will also be the counterfeit. Satan has his fake version of just about everything, including counterfeit Christians. The apostle Paul wrote, “I have traveled on many long journeys. I have faced danger from rivers and from robbers. I have faced danger from my own people, the Jews, as well as from the Gentiles. I have faced danger in the cities, in the deserts, and on the seas. And I have faced danger from men who claim to be believers but are not” (2 Corinthians 11:26 NLT). Even in Paul’s day, there were counterfeit Christians, just as there are today. And there also is a counterfeit gospel. Just because someone uses the word gospel doesn’t mean they’re referring to the genuine gospel. For the gospel to be genuine, certain things must be in place. And one of those things is the acknowledgment that everyone has sinned. Secondly, there is only one solution for our sin being removed, and that is the cross. If the cross is not proclaimed, then it is not the gospel. Any proper presentation of the gospel will come back to the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Sometimes in our attempts to be relevant, to cross over, we don’t bring the cross over. But our job as believers is not only to lift people up but also to point them to Jesus Christ.
