I am deeply concerned and grieved that some of our nation’s most prominent Christian leaders just can’t get it right when it comes to issues of Bible prophecy or Israel. Equally troubling is the fact that eschatology has vanished from our pulpits in recent decades because it is “divisive,” “confusing,” and might drive away today’s “seekers.” I cannot figure out why the message that “the King is coming” doesn’t fit into today’s “feel good” theology. The Bible says in II Thessalonians that there will be a great “falling away” from sound doctrine in the last days. Perhaps that explains the surge of the trendy theology called “Preterism” which teaches that all or most of prophecy is history. It took place in 70 AD with the destruction of Jerusalem. The Tribulation was the persecution of the saints. Nero was the antichrist most likely, though he died in 68 AD by suicide. There are Full and Partial Preterists. A Partial Preterist would consider a Full Preterist heretical, for a Full Preterist teaches that Jesus even returned in 70 AD, although only “in spirit.” But all Preterists believe there is no future antichrist, Tribulation, Millennium, or role for national Israel present or future. They do believe in the Second Coming of Christ and the resurrection of believers, but not in a Rapture. The theology came along in the 1600s but wasn’t made trendy until 20th Century teachers like Ken Gentry, R.C. Sproul, Gary DeMar, and “The Bible Answerman” Hank Hanegraaff started heralding it. Hanegraaff clearly never met a Dispensationalist he didn’t address in a demeaning manner. He used his powerful international radio microphone to denounce the late Tim Lahaye, Hal Lindsey, and many more, on a weekly basis. Hank and his guests weekly pleaded the cause of the persecuted and “occupied” Palestinians with distorted Scripture and historical revisionism, yet his books and radio show made him one of the most powerful men in the forefront of Christianity. But even more respected is Rick Warren, the man trying to give us all “purpose” while at the same time telling his readers to stay away from Bible prophecy. While I know that many have grown from the whole “purpose-driven phenomenon,” I am grieved that this powerful Christian leader says on pages 285-286 of his book, “The Purpose Driven Life,” that Jesus told his disciples, “The details of my return are none of your business.” Rick, give us a chapter and verse for that! We are to focus on our “mission” which isn’t Bible prophecy. We are to preach the gospel to every nation and then the end will come says Rick, but that happens in the Tribulation. He suggests that prophecy is a “diversion of the devil” and then implies that those who do not focus on the work God has planned for us—from which prophecy diverts us—is not fit for the Kingdom of God. He doesn’t get it that two thirds of the Bible is prophecy and that Jesus tells us to “watch and pray” for His return. In Matthew 16, He chastises the Pharisees for knowing the signs of the weather but not the signs of the times. Rick robs of us our “blessed hope” and our “purpose” could in no way have anything to do with sounding an alarm to the lateness of the hour which would fit into Rick’s evangelistic plan. Bible prophecy and evangelism fit like a hand in a glove! During his time in office, many of us prayed that George W. Bush would be reached by men with sound theology to better shape his Middle East goals. But he remained blinded by his Replacement Theology background—that is, the Church is the new Israel so we can pressure Israel to carve up her land until the cows come home and there will be no consequences. Most of his staff fell into the same camp, but they all put America at risk. If they only had been taught sound eschatology, this might not have been the case. I conclude that you can have an international platform, sell millions of books, and even rise to high political office with little consequences if you have indifference towards prophecy or skewed eschatological theology, and have Israel not much more relevant than the Canary Islands. The bottom line is this: Millions of prophecy books, including “The Late-Great Planet Earth” and the “Left Behind” series, have won untold numbers for Eternity. The hour is much too late to have these theologies torn apart and ridiculed when we need to use such teachings to win the lost while we have time! How convenient of the enemy to blur the sound theology behind true Dispensationalist teaching and get people wondering if all prophecy is history, the Church is Israel, and we are deluded if we think our “purpose” is to believe sound prophecy teaching when that is but a diversion. I’m frustrated, and I wonder if God isn’t weeping. (Joel 3:1–2) This indictment by the God of Heaven, when dissected, is against the entire world of nations. The history of the Jews and the diasporas they suffered is well documented. This hatred poured out on the Jewish people is inexplicable…apart from Jesus’ Words: All these are the beginning of sorrows. Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. (Matthew 24:8–10) The world of nations, used by Satan to assault God’s chosen people with his hatred, have, throughout history, driven the Jewish people out of the land God promised Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob forever. They have scattered and divided God’s land of promise to the four winds of the earth. They have divided that land, just as the prophet Joel said. For this reason, God will bring all nations of earth to the Valley of Jehoshaphat—that is, to the killing field of Jezreel or Armageddon. The modern-day leaders of the nations hostile to Israel are carrying out Joel’s prophecy. They are the “Armageddon architects.” The exponential ramping-up of hatred of Israel on a global scale–even among Western nations—is a sure signal of where this generation stands on God’s prophetic timeline. One recent report of such anger against the Jewish State–disguised as wanting only to secure peace for Israel and its Israel-hating neighbors—makes the point that God’s judgment as given in Joel 3:1–2 can’t be far off. Spain’s socialist Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez led a group of European states in recognizing Palestine as a state on Tuesday, saying the move was a step towards focusing “all our efforts to implement a two-state solution and make it a reality.” Spain, Norway, and Ireland recognized Palestine as a state on Tuesday, making official by writ the announcement made by the group last week. The Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, was the first among the group to move on the morning, claiming his position was that giving Palestine international recognition would “help Israelis and Palestinians achieve peace.” He said Palestine includes “West Bank and Gaza connected by a corridor,” and has its capital and “legitimate government of the Palestine National Authority” in East Jerusalem… Israel responded, saying the group is “rewarding terrorism” by giving Palestine the veneer of legitimacy around the world so soon after the October 7th terrorist attacks. Foreign Minister Israel Katz said in a message addressed to Sánchez: “You are complicit in inciting the Jewish genocide and war crimes”… Speaking in Madrid on Tuesday, Sánchez defended the outrage-provoking move by insisting he was working for peace. Further, he said, asserting Palestine is a state puts Spain in a club with “more than 140 countries that already recognize Palestine” worldwide. The nations of the world are led in this genocidal madness by the god of this world—Lucifer. There is only one remedy for such hatred and rebellion: Joel says God will deal with the Israel-haters and all other anti-God forces on the plain of Megiddo, which Napoleon called the greatest natural battlefield on earth. The rebellious globalist architects who want to build a world apart from God’s governance will lose this battle instantly, when the returning King of all kings simply speaks the Word with the all-powerful sword of His mouth. But as long as these tragedies are not affecting us directly, most people don’t really care too much. As the level of worldwide suffering rises, it seems as though hearts are getting colder at the same time. The traumatic events of the past several years have left deep scars, and there are many that prefer to ignore the apocalyptic things that are happening in the world because it is just too much for them to handle emotionally. According to a brand new study, the number of armed conflicts in 2023 was the most that we have seen in a single year since the end of World War II… More armed conflicts took place worldwide in 2023 than any other year since the end of the Second World War, according to a Norwegian study published Monday. Last year saw 59 conflicts of which 28 were in Africa, the the Peace Research Institute of Oslo (PRIO) showed. We really are living in a time of “wars and rumors of wars”. But since it isn’t our sons and daughters that are being gunned down on the killing fields of eastern Ukraine, most of us in the western world aren’t really moved by all of the bloodshed. Every single day, more young lives are being wasted. But if you think that things are bad now, just wait until Israel and Hezbollah start lobbing thousands of missiles back and forth, China invades Taiwan, and the Russians and NATO begin directly pummeling one another. Meanwhile, global hunger just continues to grow. In fact, it is being reported that the number of people facing acute food insecurity last year was the highest ever recorded… The number of people threatened by hunger in the world has never been so high. In 2023, 281 million people in 59 countries were facing acute food insecurity, according to the 2024 Global Report on Food Crises, published on Wednesday, April 24, by several international organizations (including UN agencies, the European Union, the US Agency for International Development). This figure is up on 2022 (257 million) in its fifth year running. “This Global Report on Food Crises is a roll call of human failings,” warned UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, prefacing the analysis. A decade ago, world leaders dreamed of a day when hunger would be eradicated. Today, that dream is completely dead. Right now, hunger is exploding in areas all over the continent of Africa. In Sudan, people are literally eating dirt and leaves just so that they can fill their stomachs with something… Time is running out to prevent starvation in Sudan, warns the World Food Program. Twenty-five million people in Sudan need humanitarian assistance, 18 million are facing acute food insecurity and 5 million people are at emergency levels approaching famine as the country’s civil war passes the one-year mark. Amid so many other crises, the world’s largest hunger crisis is drawing little global attention. In the Al Lait refugee camp, for example, people are eating dirt and boiling leaves, just to have something in their bellies, reports Reuters. Others are eating grass and peanut shells, according to the World Food Program. Since it isn’t happening to us, most of us don’t really care. But hunger is growing here too. According to one recent survey, over one-fourth of the entire U.S. population is now skipping meals due to crazy high food prices… More than a quarter of Americans have resorted to skipping meals to avoid paying inflated grocery store prices, according to a new survey. According to a study by Qualtrics on behalf of Intuit Credit Karma, 80% of Americans say they have felt a “notable increase” in grocery costs in recent years. More than a quarter of respondents said the increased cost has led them to occasionally skip meals, while about one-third said they spend more than 60% of their monthly income on mandatory expenses such as food, utilities and rent. “Food insecurity is a major issue in this country as millions of Americans don’t have enough food to eat or don’t have access to healthy food,” Courtney Alev, a consumer financial advocate at Credit Karma, said in a statement. I keep warning my readers that this is just the beginning, and I hope that they are taking me seriously. We are also living at a time when major natural disasters are becoming more frequent. Last year, our world was hit by more “billion dollar disasters” than ever before… The planet was besieged by a record 63 billion-dollar weather disasters in 2023, surpassing the previous record of 57 set in 2020, said insurance broker Gallagher Re in its annual report issued January 17. Unfortunately, we may top that number this year. So far in 2024, there have already been 11 “billion dollar disasters” in the United States alone… A deadly outbreak of tornadoes last month caused $4.7 billion in damages across the Southern, Southeastern and Central U.S., making it one of the costliest weather events of the year so far, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said on Monday. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said there had been 11 confirmed weather and climate disaster events so far this year with losses exceeding $1 billion, with the total price tag topping $25 billion. There were more than 165 tornadoes during the May 6-9 outbreak, impacting Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida, officials said. We have already experienced so many historic disasters, and hurricane season and the heart of wildfire season are still ahead of us. Almost every day, we are seeing things happen that we have never seen before. For example, storm chasers in the middle of the country just recovered a piece of hail that was “about the size of a pineapple”… Val and Amy Castor, veteran storm chasers with Oklahoma City television station KWTV, discovered a piece of hail more than 7 inches (17.78 centimeters) long Sunday along the side of the road near Vigo Park while they were chasing a major thunderstorm system. Val Castor said the stone was about the size of a pineapple. “That’s the biggest hail I’ve ever seen, and I’ve been chasing storms for more than 30 years,” Castor said. We aren’t supposed to have hail of that size. But this is the “new normal” where the old rules simply don’t apply. In California, there has been an alarming series of earthquakes during the past couple of weeks… First, a magnitude 3.6 earthquake in the Ojai Valley sent weak shaking from Santa Barbara to Los Angeles on May 31. Then came two small quakes under the eastern L.A. neighborhood of El Sereno, the most powerful a 3.4. Finally, a trio of tremors hit the Costa Mesa-Newport Beach border, topping out at a magnitude 3.6 Thursday. Having half a dozen earthquakes with a magnitude over 2.5 in a week, hitting three distinct parts of Southern California, all in highly populated areas, is not a common occurrence. The “Big One” is coming eventually, but I don’t think it is coming quite yet. Hopefully I am not wrong about that. Other nations are getting pounded by natural disaster after natural disaster as well. Brazil has been getting hit particularly hard. Nightmarish flooding was making headlines down there for a while, but now wildfires are taking center stage… After historic floods recently claimed 172 lives in coastal Brazil, the country now faces a new crisis as fires rage through the Pantanal wetlands. These fires have surged nearly tenfold compared to the same period last year, setting the stage for a potential catastrophe worse than the devastating fires of 2020. With severe to extreme drought conditions expected, the situation is becoming increasingly dire. Data from the Brazilian space research agency, National Institute for Space Research (INPE) reveals a staggering 980% jump in fires across the Pantanal wetlands this year through June 5, compared to the same timeframe in 2023. Speaking of Brazil, it is in the midst of the worst pandemic of dengue fever that has ever been recorded in that nation… Brazil recorded the highest number of dengue cases globally in 2024 according to new data from the World Health Organization (WHO). There are nearly 6.3 million probable, and 3 million confirmed cases in the country. The South American country counts 82% of the 7.6 million probable cases of dengue recorded in the entire world by the WHO this year. Sadly, it also accounts for 77% of the 3,680 deaths globally from the virus and 82% of the 16,242 cases of severe dengue reported. Thus far, 2024 has seen the most serious dengue outbreak ever recorded in Brazil. According to the Ministry of Health, by the end of May, the number of probable cases was 328% higher than that recorded in the same period last year, which had already seen a record number of dengue diagnoses. So many pestilences are causing major problems all over the globe right now. In the Democratic Republic of Congo, the number of Mpox cases has surged to an all-time record high, and it is the form of the disease that has a particularly high death rate… The ongoing outbreak of clade I mpox in the DRC has already claimed many victims: The DRC reports “multiple provincial outbreaks” occurring between the beginning of 2023 and April 14, 2024, with an estimated total of 19,919 cases and 975 deaths — meaning that about 1 in every 20 patients have died. This outbreak is also perhaps the most widespread: “During 2023 and 2024, clade I mpox cases were reported from 25 of 26 provinces and, for the first time, from the capital city of Kinshasa,” the CDC team noted. Children are especially vulnerable: According to the report, “two thirds (67%) of suspected cases and more than three quarters (78%) of suspected deaths have occurred in persons aged 15 years [or younger].” If you ever catch this form of Mpox, you will remember it for the rest of your life even if you survive, because it will be the worst pain that you have ever experienced. On top of everything else, it is being reported that scientists have discovered “giant viruses” in the enormous sheets of ice that cover Greenland… The idea of a giant virus lurking on a vast ice sheet might sound like the plot to the latest science fiction blockbuster. But it’s become a reality, after researchers discovered giant viruses while exploring the Greenland ice sheet. Hopefully none of those “giant viruses” poses a major threat to humanity. But without a doubt, there will be more global pandemics in our future. In fact, all of the trends that I have discussed in this article are going to continue to intensify. Our apocalyptic “new normal” is here. We live in a world that is going completely and utterly mad, and you can try to ignore that if you wish, but it is the truth. The Beast from the Earth: The False Prophet… - By Dr. Donald Whitchard - https://www.raptureready.com/2024/06/08/the-beast-from-the-earth-the-false-prophet-by-dr-donald-whitchard/ Revelation 13:11-18; Isaiah 14:7-12; Matthew 4:8-10; 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12 Summary: The False Prophet uses false “miracles and signs” to convince the world that the Antichrist is the leader for whom they have been waiting. He is a tool of Satan used to draw people away from the truth of the Gospel and toward the certainty of hell. The Antichrist, who was introduced in Revelation 13:1-10, will not rise to power alone. His success will result from a worldwide spiritual deception perpetuated by the man referred to in Revelation 13:11-18 as “the beast from the earth,” known as the False Prophet. He will be a religious leader whose penchant for “working miracles” will enable him to convince the public that the Antichrist is the leader for whom they have been looking. The ultimate deception of the end times will involve the worldwide worship of the Antichrist. This will be encouraged and then enforced by the False Prophet. He serves as the spokesperson for the Antichrist. The scheme of the devil, or Satan, will culminate in the two beasts’ corporate enterprise. The Antichrist will directly oppose Christ, and the False Prophet will assume the place of religious leadership that rightly belongs to the Lord Jesus Christ. Revelation 13:11-18 presents the following identifying features of the False Prophet: He rises from the earth and will control all religious affairs, motivated by Satan himself. He will promote the worldwide worship of the beast and will deceive the people through the working of false “signs and wonders.” He will seemingly “give life” to the image of the beast and will kill everyone who refuses to worship the image. He will be in control of all economic affairs and the operation of the “mark of the beast.” He will have the power to determine life and death during the final portion of the Great Tribulation. Over a century ago, Dr. Samuel Andrews, writing in his book Christianity and Anti-Christianity (Chicago; Moody Press, 1898), said that the work of the False Prophet will be to extend his ecclesiastical administration over the whole world by establishing the church of the Antichrist as the counterfeit of the true church. Andrews pictured an apostate religion bound together by a common hatred of Christianity and filled with demonic power. Thus, the False Prophet does not so much deny Christian doctrine as he corrupts it. Only in this way can the Antichrist sit in the Temple of God, demanding to be worshipped (Isaiah 14:12-14). When Satan tempted the Lord Jesus in the wilderness, Satan appealed to Jesus for worship (Matthew 4:8-10). In fact, the devil offered to surrender the entire world over to Jesus if He would worship Him. So, we should not be surprised that the goal of the Satan-inspired False Prophet will be to inspire the world to bow down to the Antichrist, who is the personification of Satan himself. Together, Satan (the dragon), the Antichrist (the beast from the sea), and the False Prophet (the beast from the earth) comprise an “unholy trinity” that is a counterfeit of the triune God. Satan opposes God the Father, the Antichrist opposes the Son, and the False Prophet opposes the Holy Spirit. This ungodly alliance is Satan’s final attempt to overthrow the work of God on earth. Scripture explains their method. The Antichrist does not dare to appear until after the “rebellion” or “falling away” (apostasy) mentioned in 2 Thessalonians 2:3. “In the meantime, the spirit of Antichrist (lawlessness) is already at work, attempting to pervert the Gospel and corrupt the true church. When this process is sufficiently established, the False Prophet will arise for the coming of the Antichrist. Revelation 17 links the False Prophet with whom the Bible refers to as “the great prostitute” (apostate religion). Prostitution was often a part of pagan worship, but the adultery referred to in Chapter 17 refers to spiritual adultery. The woman is guilty of spiritual compromise and association with apostate religions. Several biblical teachers have noticed similarities between the Antichrist and the Syrian king Antiochus Epiphanes IV, who persecuted the Jews in the second century B.C. The False Prophet is to the Antichrist what Menelaus was to Antiochus IV. Menelaus was responsible for enforcing many of the Hellenizing decrees of Antiochus IV upon his own people, the Jews. John describes the False Prophet as having “two horns like a lamb, but he spoke like a dragon” (13:11, NIV). He looks religious but talks like the devil. He counterfeits true religion in order to hide his real identity. Whereas the Holy Spirit’s ministry is to bring people to Jesus, the False Prophet’s counterfeit work is to beckon people into a spiritual allegiance with the Antichrist. The False Prophet deceives the world through apostasy, the renunciation of the true Gospel. The spirit of Antichrist continues to work throughout church history, daring to deny the true Savior and His work on the cross that redeemed us from our sins. The apostles were convinced that the spirit of Antichrist (1 John 4:3) and the mystery of iniquity (2 Thessalonians 2:7) were already at work in their own time. This means that the apostate spirit predates all modern churches as we know them today. If pretribulationists are correct in assuming the rapture of the true church will occur before the Tribulation begins (John 14:1-3; 1 Corinthians 15:51-58; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 3:10), then all “Christian” churches that remain will be apostate regardless of their label. All those “pseudo-Christians” who are left behind may well align with one another in a common cause of unbelief (2 Thessalonians 2:8-12). In summary: 1) The spirit of the Antichrist and the mystery of iniquity were already at work in the days of the apostles. 2) Apostasy has progressed throughout church history, predating the modern church. 3) A large segment of modern Christianity is already apostate. Unbelief is rampant in liberal churches. 4) After the rapture of true believers, all professing “Christians” who are left behind will be apostate believers regardless of denomination. 5) The False Prophet will arise to lead apostate Christendom in its acceptance of the Antichrist. In 2 Thessalonians 2:3-12, Paul indicates that this process will begin during the church age. The “falling away” will occur before the “Coming of our Lord Jesus Christ” (2:1, 3). But its final explosion as a form of worldwide unbelief will not occur until after the restraining ministry (indwelling the true church) is removed at the time of the rapture. This seems to indicate that we probably will not know who the False Prophet is prior to the rapture. Only those who are left behind to face the Tribulation will know his true identity. Repent of your sins and come to Christ for salvation today. The Antichrist and False Prophet are not persons you want to encounter. Your app contains content related to the following violations: Content or speech asserting that a protected group is inhuman, inferior or worthy of being hated.” The controversy is swirling around a video that tells the stories of an Arab Muslim born in Israel and US Navy SEALS who witnessed Muslim extremism. That’s the stated reason, but it goes far deeper than that. Hate speech is defined by many sources similar to this found in Britannica “hate speech: speech or expression that denigrates a person or persons on the basis of (alleged) membership in a social group identified by attributes such as race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, age, physical or mental disability, and others.” By definition, if one remotely offers criticism of anyone involved in most any group, it could be considered hate speech. If, for example, one quotes passages in the Bible concerning homosexuality or deviant sexual behavior, it is considered hate speech. If, in the case of PragerU, someone is criticizing Islamic extremism (even terrorists), Google considers it hate speech because the terrorists are part of a religious group. So criticizing Hamas is hate speech because they are Muslim and a “social group.” Get it? The broad definition of hate speech allows the media, corporations, nonprofits and members of any of these groups to claim that criticism of what they do is hate speech. In the case of PragerU’s app, hate speech is being used to censor an organization that doesn’t align with Google’s leftist agenda. PragerU’s website says, “Google is using Soviet-style tactics and attempting to silence us. According to Google, sharing the stories of a former Palestinian refugee, an Arab Muslim born in Israel, and brave U.S. Navy SEALs who witnessed the horrors of Muslim extremism constitutes “hate speech.” This is a blatant attempt to silence truth and censor speech.” Trouble is, this is not a violation of the First Amendment guarantees of freedom of speech because it is not the government that is doing the censoring. When the government colludes with a corporation to censor free speech it becomes a constitutional issue. Such as the Department of Justice, FBI and others coercing big tech media platforms to disallow dissenting information such as what we saw with COVID, Hunter Biden Laptop, 2020 election information. They called it “disinformation,” “hate speech,” whatever. Big tech media platforms are promoted as open forums, but they make people agree to abide by their policies in order to use the platform. Those “policies” are used to censor those with whom they disagree. The definition of Hate Speech is so wide sweeping that most criticism can be applied as hate speech whether it is or not. Hate Speech perverts Free Speech. But really, if we love God as we ought to, then we will want to do the things that please God. Interestingly, the Ten Commandments are divided into two sections. The first four commandments have to do with our relationship with God, while the final six deal with our relationship with others. If we really love the Lord our God with all our hearts, souls, and minds, then we will not want to have another god before Him, worship an idol, or take His name in vain. And if we love our neighbors as we love ourselves, then we won’t want to steal from them, kill them, or covet something that belongs to them. The idea is that if we can get this basic truth of loving God down, then everything else will find the proper place. But what did Jesus mean when He said, “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind” (Matthew 22:37 NLT)? It means that we are to love God with every part of our being. In the Hebrew mind, the heart spoke of the center, or core, of one’s being. Proverbs 4:23 warns us, “Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life” (NLT). The word soul probably correlates more closely to our modern use of the word heart. It refers to the emotions. It’s the word Jesus used when He cried out in the Garden of Gethsemane, “My soul is crushed with grief to the point of death” (Matthew 26:38 NLT). And loving God with your mind is the idea of moving ahead with energy and strength. Putting it all together, genuine love for the Lord is an intelligent love, a feeling love, a willing love, and a serving love. Some people love God with all their minds, but there’s no heart in it. They love to study. They love to be correct theologically. But there is no passion in their lives. Some people love God with all their hearts, with passion and emotion, but they haven’t disciplined themselves to study God’s Word. Thus, they’re easily led astray. We need our hearts, souls, and minds in play to love God as we ought to. This is why, after Peter had denied the Lord, Jesus met with him by the Sea of Galilee and posed this question: “Simon son of John, do you love me more than these?” (John 21:15 NLT). Jesus could have asked him, “Simon, son of John, do you have faith in Me?” or “Simon, are you theologically correct?” or “Simon, are you obedient to Me?” But Jesus didn’t ask Peter those questions. Instead, He asked, “Do you love Me?” And He asked this three times. Perhaps it was to correspond to Peter’s three denials of Him. Whatever the reason, Jesus asked, “Do you love Me?” because He knew that if Peter loved Him, all the other areas of life would be taken care of.
