(Galilee, Israel) — Shalom from a very different Israel than what we had one month ago. Back then, we were mired in political friction. There was a huge divide over judicial reform with threats being leveled from all sides. Culturally, we were not just two different countries with a conservative population and a liberal population, but we had countless subgroups centered around religious beliefs and lifestyle choices and ethnic backgrounds. When I looked at my nation back then, I felt incredible sorrow. We were a nation fighting an internal war and I could see my country falling apart. That is no longer so. When you look at Israel now, you see one country, one people. We are Israelis, and if you harm one of us, you harm us all. As a nation, we were attacked. As a nation, we were murdered and tortured and kidnapped. And as a nation, we will have our vengeance on those who perpetrated these heinous acts on our children, our elderly, our women, and our men. We will also ensure that those who attacked us will never have the capability to do it again, because we know that if they could, they would. Hamas didn’t just “get this out of their system” and now they’re ready to play nice. They are the same evil, antisemitic Nazis they have always been, and they will not be satisfied until every Jew has been pushed into the sea. That’s not going to happen. “But, Amir, you are a believer in Jesus. Shouldn’t you turn the other cheek?” I will answer that in two ways. First, nowhere in Scripture is a nation told to turn the other cheek. There is no Bible passage that tells a government that they must accept the evil done to it and respond in love. In fact, throughout Scripture, it is the State that is used by God as His weapon against evil. Currently, Israel is that weapon in God’s hand, and He is using it to eradicate the demonic terrorists who carried out such vile and malicious crimes against innocents. Second, as believers we have a responsibility to protect the innocent. Yes, Jesus said that turning the other cheek is the correct action when struck. But He said that in a certain context and in relation to a specific situation. If I am being attacked and I feel it is appropriate to respond to my attacker in love, then I should do so. But if a child is being attacked, my response must be protection of the innocent by whatever means is necessary and proper. Israel’s actions meet that “necessary and proper” criteria to protect the innocent and eradicate evil. More and more nations are going to soon find themselves in the same situation making the same types of choices, because this radical antisemitism and, in many circumstances, its accompanying universalist Islamist vision is not going to remain localized to the Middle East. This war is a global event, and it has ramifications around the world. Gaza The Israeli ground assault is continuing in Gaza. The plan is to cut the Gaza Strip in two, which will allow the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) to wrap around and eventually surround Shifa hospital – the main hospital in Gaza. Now, New York Times, before you start saying, “See, we told you that Israel likes to bomb hospitals,” let me tell you why they are doing that. Within that hospital compound, built both above and below ground, are Hamas’s main headquarters. If Israel really didn’t care about civilians, they would have dropped a few bunker buster bombs on the Shifa property and been done with it. Instead, they are making a risky maneuver so that they can target Hamas terrorists, all the while announcing what they are going to do so that the hospital and the surrounding area can be emptied of civilians. Once again, we see the difference between Hamas and the IDF. Hamas targets innocent civilians. The IDF warns civilians so that they can escape. The reason non-combatants are killed is because Hamas forces them to remain behind to maintain the human shield, and so that they can use their bodies afterward as propaganda for the world’s media. Gaza has had billions of dollars poured into it. Where has it all gone? First, to the Hamas leaders. Hamas Deputy Chairman Mousa Abu Marzuk is worth $3 billion, former Chairman Khaled Mashal is worth $4 billion, and current Chairman Ismail Haniyeh is also worth $4 billion. It’s understandable, though, because it takes a lot of money to pay for their luxury housing in Turkey and Qatar. I mean, you couldn’t expect them to live in Gaza amongst the riff-raff, could you? Most of the remaining money went to the construction of an intricate, multi-leveled system of 1300 tunnels that stretch for 500 kilometers (311 miles) and reach 70 meters deep (229 feet). The flaw in this tunnel system is that it needs gas for generators to power the ventilation system. So, while there is food and water in Gaza, as well as electricity in most areas, gas is very difficult to find. This is because the IDF has confiscated all the gas they can find. No gas, no ventilators. No ventilators, no air. No air, the terrorists will be forced to scurry out of their holes where they will surrender or be killed. Lebanon and Syria Iran desperately wants their militias in southern Syria to do something directed at Israel. But so far there has only been the occasional rocket or artillery fire. Hezbollah in Lebanon is receiving the same pressure from Iran. The skirmishes across the Lebanese/Israeli border have been more intense that those with Syria but have still mostly been in the form of rockets and airstrikes. However, there have been border breaches that had to be dealt with by the IDF. Hassan Nasrallah, secretary-general of Hezbollah, has announced that he will make a very important speech Friday at 3:00 PM. The speculation is that he will declare Hezbollah’s entrance into the war. This would be unfortunate for two reasons. First of all, the Lebanese don’t want war. Most civilians in Lebanon are good, hard-working people who are in the unfortunate situation of having their country commandeered by a terrorist organization whose puppet strings are being pulled by Iran’s radical Islamist regime. Maybe this will be the catalyst for the people to finally rise up and oust Hezbollah. The second reason Nasrallah should think carefully before entering the fray is that him doing so would be a fatal mistake. Because of the organization and training of Hezbollah, it would likely take more Israeli lives to end Hezbollah. But rest assured, by the time the IDF has finished, there would be no more Hezbollah and no more Hassan Nasrallah. Last night, Ismail Qaani, commander of the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), visited Beirut, likely to discuss Hezbollah’s involvement in the next phase of the war. Please pray that this front does not open wide. Yemen The Houthis of Yemen have declared war against Israel. You may wonder why this 50,000-strong rebel army based 1000 miles away from Israel is declaring war. Because they, too, are funded and directed by the ayatollahs in Tehran. These extremist Shiites have long-range ballistic rockets, and they have fired them at Israel. At least one was destroyed by a US Navy ship. Another was taken out while still in space by Israel’s new Arrow-3 hypersonic anti-ballistic missile system. So far, they have just fired missiles at Israel. But if one of those ballistic missiles finds its target, there will be mass casualties. Iran What do all of Israel’s enemies have in common? A fealty to Iran. The Iranians have a superiority complex when it comes to their fellow Middle Easterners. If there is dirty work to be done, they would much rather it was Arab hands that did it. Their Persian hands are too finely manicured for grunt work. That is why they created the militias. Hezbollah, Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Houthis, Kata’ib Sayyid al-Shuhada, and all the others, they are all the Persians’ fighting force, because it’s no use spilling Iranian blood when there are so many Arabs just hanging around. I know my words sound harsh and incredibly callous, but they are one hundred percent accurate when it comes to the attitude of the Islamist regime in Tehran. If Hezbollah and the militias in Syria attack from the north, Israel knows who will be behind it. When the time is right, there will be a reckoning. Egypt The Egyptian government is finally opening a field hospital on their side of the Rafah crossing. What they are not doing is opening wide their gates to an influx of Gazans. Why? Because they know the violence and trouble that comes with them. The Egyptian prime minister is so determined to keep Gazans out of the country that he recently said that he is prepared to sacrifice millions of lives to protect the border from Palestinians. When it comes to relations with Israel, there continues to be the same surface coolness between the two countries. Yet, behind the scenes there is secret cooperation. Jordan Jordan remains at peace with Israel. Their concern is with the missiles in Syria and Iraq, and they have asked the US to deploy Patriots to protect the skies above their country. Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Bahrain Each of these countries has made it clear that the Abraham Accords are here to stay. Both Russia and Iran want to drive a wedge between the Saudis and Israelis because of energy, but their ploys are not working. The UAE indicated that a strong relationship with Israel is “our future”, while the Bahrainis said keeping a relationship with Israel is in their common interest. Remember, when the Ezekiel 38 War launches, these countries will remain out of the battle, and will strongly criticize those nations that attack Israel. United States of America The US has been Israel’s best friend through this fight, and we are very grateful for their help. Unfortunately, American bases in Syria and Iraq are paying the price. On an almost hourly basis, Iranian militias are attacking the US military with rockets and suicide drones, and the American casualties are mounting. As concerning as these developments are overseas, I am just as worried for the US mainland. So many terrorists have merged into the constant immigrant flow, and now the FBI has announced that they are very nervous about attacks taking place in US cities that are inspired by what Hamas did on October 7. There is also a new cultural divide taking place between virulent Palestinian supporters and those who criticize the horrors that Hamas perpetrated. Much of this ignorant hatred is originating in American academia. Europe There is a massive division between Europeans and the enormous Muslim population that now exists in their cities due to an open border policy. The tension between the old guard and the newcomers is getting stronger. For so long, European governments refused to admit there was a problem, but as Ayn Rand once said, “You can avoid reality, but you cannot avoid the consequences of avoiding reality.” I’m afraid that those consequences are just around the corner. It well may be the war in Israel that pushes Europe over the brink. As the anti-Israel protests swell and the number of Jewish houses that are being spraypainted with Stars of David grows, it is very likely that some flashpoint will occur which will set the streets on fire. Turkey On paper, Turkey and Israel are allies. But President Erdogan wants to be seen as a strong Muslim leader. Just this past week at a massive rally celebrating Turkish independence, he took the opportunity to go on a very antisemitic rant, including making it clear that he didn’t consider Hamas to be a terrorist organization. But even as he says those things, he allows two American B-1 bombers to land in Turkey in case they are needed against Hezbollah. Erdogan is trying to straddle two worlds, but he will have to choose one side or another soon. Again, because we know Ezekiel 38, we recognize that it will not be Israel’s side. Jewish People Around the World All the Hollywood Jews had a very bad day last week when they suddenly woke up and realized that being liberal and progressive is not enough. Many discovered that their friends had begun to abandon them for the sin of being Jewish. They thought that the world was beyond hating Jews just because they are Jews. But the world was just taking a little break. Now antisemitism is back in vogue. In Germany, cases of antisemitism have risen 240%; in Austria, 300%; South Africa, 720%; and the UK, 1351%. There is a dark cloud covering the world right now. Standing with Israel is soon going to exact a price. It may be relational. It may become physical. What we are seeing is symptomatic of the growing influence of the enemy. It is truly diabolical, and you will not understand it until you put your spiritual glasses on. But it is what we as believers expect because we know that this world is being prepared for the day when there will be a single leader who will rise up with the power of Satan himself. And in that day, all who are still left in this world will follow him. You do not want to be around when that happens, because it will be a period when God’s judgment will come down upon this world. It will be a time unlike any other, when the Lord sets out to discipline His people and punish those who have rejected Him. But you don’t have to be here. But the truth is that there shouldn’t be any speculation at all. As you will see below, the conflict in the Middle East has already become a two front war. The IDF and Hezbollah have already been exchanging fire day after day, and Hezbollah just conducted “19 simultaneous strikes on Israeli army positions on Thursday”… A formidable military force backed by Iran, Hezbollah has been engaging Israeli forces along the border, where 50 of its fighters have been killed in the deadliest escalation since it fought a war with Israel in 2006. The group said it had mounted 19 simultaneous strikes on Israeli army positions on Thursday using guided missiles, artillery and other weapons, coinciding with what it called strikes using two explosive drones. Hezbollah may not have officially “declared war” on Israel yet, but nobody can argue that conducting “19 simultaneous strikes on Israeli army positions” is not an act of war. In response, the IDF hit a wide range of Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon by air… The Israel Defense Forces says it is carrying out wide-scale airstrikes on Hezbollah sites in southern Lebanon in response to rocket attacks on northern Israel earlier. The IDF says that among the targets hit so far by fighter jets, tanks, and artillery are military headquarters, rocket launching positions, weapons storage sites, military complexes, and other infrastructure belonging to the terror group. Israel has not officially “declared war” on Hezbollah yet either, but this is what war looks like. A two front war has already begun, and that is really bad news for all of humanity. On Friday, the leader of Hezbollah is scheduled to deliver his very first public remarks about the war… Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah will on Friday make his first public comments since the Palestinian group Hamas and Israel went to war, a speech that will be scrutinized for clues on how the group’s role in the conflict might evolve. This speech is being hyped up like crazy. In fact, I have never seen this much hype for a speech by Nasrallah. Is he going to announce that Hezbollah is formally entering the war? We shall see. But whatever he plans to say, there is sure a huge effort to get people to tune in and watch… It would appear Hezbollah was going out of its way to ramp up expectations ahead of Nasrallah’s speech, presumably as his behest. A promotional video shows Nasrallah walking down a hallway with his back to the camera, with the Hezbollah symbol parading in the background. It announced Nasrallah will speak in a ceremony celebrating “Martyrs who died on route to Jerusalem”. Other unaffiliated sources have since flooded social media with videos and pictures associated with Hezbollah, conveying vague messages designed to raise tensions and to get people to endlessly speculate on what he’ll say, a tactic likely designed to beef up ratings for the actual speech. As a descendant of Mohammad, he will be wearing his customary black turban during the speech, and everyone agrees that he is “a skilled orator” … Wearing the black turban of a sayyed, or a descendent of the Prophet Mohammad, and Shi’ite clerical robes, Nasrallah is one of the most prominent figures in the Arab world. Recognized even by critics as a skilled orator, his speeches have long been followed closely by friend and foe alike. He is deemed a terrorist by adversaries including the United States. If Hezbollah officially enters the war, things are going to get really crazy. The U.S. has already warned Hezbollah that if it launches large numbers of missiles at Israel there will be a military response. Do most Americans even realize that we are literally on the verge of war with the largest terrorist organization on the entire planet? And the Israelis have warned that they will respond with overwhelming force if Hezbollah decides to officially join the conflict… Israel has warned any conflict with Lebanon would be much more destructive than the 2006 Lebanon war, which killed at least 1,200 Lebanese. “Hezbollah may decide to act, and we will have to respond,” Israeli Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer told reporters earlier this week. “The response now will make what happened in 2006 look like child’s play.” Recently, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu publicly stated that there will be “unimaginable” devastation in southern Lebanon if Hezbollah starts launching large numbers of missiles at Israel. Needless to say, it doesn’t take much imagination to figure out what he is talking about. Israel possesses nuclear weapons and Hezbollah does not. And one member of the Knesset has already called for a “Jericho missile” to be used against Hamas… Revital “Tally” Gotliv, an Israeli lawyer and member of the Knesset representing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud Party, made several posts on X, formerly known as Twitter, stating that Israel must consider nuclear warfare as an alternative to deploying large ground forces. “Jericho Missile! Jericho Missile! Strategic alert. before considering the introduction of forces. Doomsday weapon! This is my opinion. May God preserve all our strength,” Gotliv wrote on X. The Jericho-2 and the Jericho-3 are both very sophisticated, and they both have enough range to hit any of Israel’s enemies in the region… Israel later developed the Jericho-2, a longer-range missile in the late 1980s, with a length of 15 metres and a diameter of 1.35 meters, while maintaining the same payload capacity. It had a range between 1,500 and 3,500 kilometers (about 932 to 2,175 miles). The Jericho-3, an intermediate-range system, was introduced years later and was reportedly tested in 2008, entering service in 2011. It featured improvements over the previous models, with a longer length than Jericho-2 and a larger diameter of 1.56 meters. If Hezbollah missiles start raining down on Israeli cities, this is an option that will be very strongly considered. And it is important to keep in mind that the Israelis will hold Iran directly responsible for anything that Hezbollah does. Most of these people have no clue what the Bible says about Israel. NO CLUE! Not to mention they are totally ignoring the 1400 Israelis, mostly innocent family members, who were just horrifically slaughtered. So this week's article is meant to lay some groundwork of why we support Israel. Israel is not perfect. No human government is. But she has a right to defend herself. And trust me, Israel is God's chosen people. Be careful to stay on God's side. “For you [Israel] are a holy people to the LORD your God; the LORD your God has chosen you to be a people for His own possession out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth. Deut. 7:6 There's coming a day (at least seven years away) when the Jewish Jesus returns to this earth to reign righteously as King of the Earth from God's Holy mountain in Jerusalem—Mt. Moriah. This is the same mountain that Abraham offered his son Issac as a sacrifice. And it's the same mountain where the first and second Jewish Temples were built, and all those animal blood atoning sacrifices for centuries were offered to the Lord. Jesus will also judge the nations of the world from Mt. Moriah. “But when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne. All the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats; and He will put the sheep on His right, and the goats on the left." Matt. 25:31-33 Matthew 25:34-46 lays out the basis for which judgment will be rendered: The basis of their judgment will be their failure to extend mercy to the remnant of Jewish believers during the Tribulation. And those who fail the test go into eternal punishment. “These [who were against Israel] will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” Matt. 25:46 One more thing... I will gather all the nations and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat. Then I will enter into judgment with them there on behalf of My people and My inheritance, Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; And they have divided up My land. Joel 3:2 The valley of Jehoshaphat is the valley created when Jesus returns at the Second Coming. He returns to the same spot from which he departed on the Mt. of Olives and when His feet touch the top of the mountain, it splits north and south creating a large valley, called the "Valley of Decision" (Joel 3:12-14). In that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which is in front of Jerusalem on the east; and the Mount of Olives will be split in its middle from east to west by a very large valley, so that half of the mountain will move toward the north and the other half toward the south. Zech. 14:4 All this will happen at the end of the 7-years of Tribulation. Understanding Israel and the Last Days The horrific Hamas invasion that massacred some 1400 Israelis, almost all unarmed, innocent family members, brought Israel front and center on the world’s stage…just as prophesied. It will come about in that day that I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples; all who lift it [come against Israel] will be severely injured. Zech. 12:3a I would not want to be in the “Israel stone lifters” category above (Careful, Mike A!). Those coming against Israel, the apple of God's eye, have no clue Who they’re dealing with ... their day of reckoning is ahead … and it won’t be good. Currently there is a media war going on trying to position “poor Palestine” as getting the short end of the stick. But like most other mainstream news these days, that simply isn’t true. To best understand what’s going on in the Middle East, you first must understand the TRUE history of Israel and their miraculous rebirth as a nation in 1948. To you I will give the land of Canaan as the portion of your inheritance. 1 Chr. 16:18; Ps. 105:11 I will give to you and to your descendants after you, the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God. Meanwhile, Israel is attempting to slowly but surely strangle the terror group out of existence. In fact, it is being reported that the IDF has now “completed the encirclement of Gaza City”… IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari has said ground and tank forces have at this point surrounded Gaza City. “Our troops have completed the encirclement of Gaza City, the center of Hamas activity,” he said in a late Thursday (local) press conference. The IDF has further announced the deaths of “130 terrorists” in the latest battles. There is no way out for the Hamas fighters that are trapped in Gaza City at this stage. Their goal from this point forward is to stay alive in the tunnels for as long as possible as they hope for Hezbollah and Iran to join the war and save the day. Sadly, those tunnels will end becoming tombs for many of them. Instead of sending Israeli troops into the tunnels, the IDF is using robots and explosive devices to deal with them… Israeli forces have deployed robots and various explosive devices to destroy Hamas tunnels and kill terrorists, according to local media. The Walla News site in Israel said large-scale operations to clear the tunnels began in areas of the Gaza Strip now under the control of the IDF. A senior officer in the Southern Command told the outlet: “Maybe at first they were able to harass us, sting us by firing from tunnel exits, but after we established control of the areas, the engineering operation started.” He added: “We are going to collapse the entrances and the tunnels on them. It will become a death zone. They made a mistake, they chose to be in a place they could not escape from. They will die in the tunnels.” Can you imagine being trapped in an underground tunnel with no way out? I suppose that they could try digging, but those tunnels are very deep. Of course Hamas terrorists should not expect any mercy after what they did on October 7th. One Hamas terrorist has admitted on camera that he shot innocent young children… In the six-minute interrogation tape, the terrorist calmly describes murdering young children hiding in a safe room. “We heard sounds of young children,” he said. “The cries of young children. A young child, something like that.” “I shot and Abu Kamil shot. We shot at the door,” he added. “Until we didn’t hear noise anymore.” And one Israeli first responder is telling the world that he personally saw an Israeli baby that had been “baked to death in an oven”… An Israeli first responder to the October 7 terror attack has claimed that Hamas terrorists roasted a baby in an oven in shocking video testimony. Asher Moskowitz, of the United Hatzalah first responder group, published a video of himself speaking to a camera, delivering his witness account. In it, he claims he saw the remains of a baby who had been baked to death in an oven at kibbutz Kfar Aza, where more than 100 civilians were killed. The atrocities that were committed on October 7th should never be forgotten, and the Israelis have established a brand new website in order to “document the horrors of that day”. But there are still many in the western world that are attempting to deny what happened. Or they are trying to blame Israel for what happened. It truly is sickening. Look, a top Hamas official even went on television recently and publicly admitted what they did and said that they would do it again and again if given the opportunity… A senior political official in the Palestinian Hamas terror organization told Lebanese television last week that the group intends to repeat its October 7 terror attack until Israel is annihilated. The Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) translated the interview. In it, Hamas political official Ghazi Hamad says that attacks on Israeli civilians are justified; that the cost in terms of Palestinian “martyrs” is worth the ultimate goal of ending Israel; and that Hamas will continue to mount such attacks. Israel simply cannot allow Hamas to exist any longer. And most Americans would almost certainly feel the same way if it was American children that were butchered, American women that were raped and American grandmothers that were kidnapped. Unfortunately, coverage by the mainstream media is steadily becoming more pro-Hamas by the day. In fact, even CNN is openly admitting that the mainstream media is becoming more critical of Israel… News organizations are assuming a more aggressive posture toward Israel Defense Forces as it escalates its military operations in the Gaza Strip. While civilian deaths mount and the humanitarian crisis grows more severe in the Palestinian territory, spokespersons for Israel’s military are being confronted by anchors on live television, pressed to answer for the deaths of innocent families caught in the heavy crossfire. The more critical stance has been particularly pronounced over the last 24 hours, following two blasts at the densely populated Jabalya refugee camp in northern Gaza, which was established in 1948 when Palestinians fled what is now the current state of Israel. They are trying to turn the Israelis into the bad guys. But it is not going to work. The whole world clearly saw what Hamas did on October 7th. And now that the IDF has completely encircled Gaza City, the end is near for the vast majority of the Hamas terrorists that are hiding in those tunnels. My dream had this eerie darkness to it. I remember it seemed heavy with a cloud inside my room. There were areas on the edge of the room that were even darker, as if they fell deep into an abyss. Then all of a sudden out of my dream came these bats. It seemed as if there several of them flying around my bed above my head. In my sleep, I must have started screaming for help. And when I did, all of a sudden the dream morphed into reality and I was awake. My pulse rate was racing. I was breathing hard. And my mother was kneeling down at my side with her hand on my forehead, asking her eight-year-old son what was wrong. “Mom, I was dreaming and there were these bats swooping down on me. And when I woke up they were still there flying around the room, coming close to me and then flying off,” I explained through my deep breaths. By then, Mom had turned on my Conestoga Wagon western lamp on the stand beside my bed. She said, “Now, Now, Billy,” as she hugged me, “There’s no bats up here, no bats in your room. It’s all OK.” “But Mom,” I replied, “There are bats and they are flying around right now.” Her eyes fixed on me, she calmly said, “No, Billy, you’re just upset from the dream, there are no bats up here.” All of a sudden she felt the wind of a bat wing blowing in her hair and she looked up. To her horror, it was a bat! “Carl, Carl!” She yelled to my Dad. “Get these bats out of here! There are bats in our house!” Of course, Dad was in a dead sleep and by the time he staggered out into the hallway, the bats were gone. Disappeared. Just as fast as they came. He didn’t believe either of us. Mom soothed my nerves and I went back to sleep, somewhat vindicated that I saw a bat. Mom went back to her room and was telling Dad the story for I don’t know how long. Dad still didn’t believe there were bats in the house. So many weeks went by. Dad was at a friend’s house and Mom and I were alone. I went out to the back room, which we used as an office, trophy room, and back entrance, and behold, there was another bat, It was flying about and clinging to the ceiling. This time it was not clouded by a dream. And sure enough Dad wasn’t there. I put on a plastic toy army helmet and a heavy jacket. Mom got a broom. It was quite a sight me opening the door and her, in her hair scarf and Dad’s old barn coat, swiping at that bat, trying to get him out the door. I had a toy grenade launcher trying to shoot it with plastic grenades. We looked like a spin-off of the Lucy show with Lucille Ball. Finally, the bat flew out the door into the darkness. Leviticus 11 gives a list of birds that are unclean, saying in verse 13, “they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination.” Verse 19 lists the bat. My Mom was a clean freak to the max. To have bats in her house was definitely an abomination. And Dad eventually became a believer because there was no rest until the bats were gone. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me” (John 15:15 NLT). When you put your faith in Jesus Christ, you begin a special friendship with God. God has given us a user’s manual in life called the Bible, which helps us to understand the will of God. So, before we get into the specifics of trying to discover His plan and purpose for our lives as individuals, we need to ask ourselves this question: Am I already doing what God has clearly told me to do? For example, it is the will of God that you believe in Jesus Christ. The Bible says that God “does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent” (2 Peter 3:9 NLT). There must come a moment in your life when you’ve acknowledged that you’re a sinner and are separated from God. There must come a moment when you turn from that sin and put your faith in Jesus. The Bible says, “And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him” (Romans 12:1 NLT). God is essentially saying, “Give Me your life, and I will show you My will.” The condition of an enlightened mind is a surrendered heart. God has a plan and a purpose for your life. But to know the will of God, you must willingly present yourself to Him without reservation.
