The Ancient Blame Game: Hating Jews Goes Back Further Than The Word Jew - By Hal Lindsey - https://harbingersdaily.com/the-ancient-blame-game-hating-jews-goes-back-further-than-the-word-jew/
The Bible repeatedly condemns lying, especially lies meant to harm others. 2 Timothy 3:34 talks about humanity becoming “unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous.” Verse one of that chapter says it will get worse as the last days approach. That’s bad news for the Jewish people because for centuries they have already suffered as the victims of “malicious gossip.” That’s the kind of lying meant to harm or destroy. People blamed Jews for wars and for economic downturns. The losers of wars made Jews their scapegoats — blaming them for selling secrets and other traitorous activities. Anti-capitalists often blame Jews for the rise of capitalism. But just as often, capitalists blame Jews for the rise of socialism. I could go on and on listing the things they’ve been blamed for, including the Bubonic Plague, earthquakes, floods, and all kinds of natural disasters. Hating Jews goes back further than the word Jew. In ancient times, the Hebrews were hated because they refused to adopt pagan religions or adapt their own beliefs to those of their captors or conquerors. It’s hard to “adapt” belief in the one true God to a belief in a pantheon of gods. The propensity to blame Jews for all manner of evil led to the Holocaust, but it did not stop there. It is alive and well. For instance, a new UN report blames domestic violence among Palestinians on Israel. They ignore centuries of Muslim teaching that belittles and devalues women, sometimes to the level of livestock. But if a Palestinian man gives his wife what for, they blame Jews. When people are confronted on video while tearing down posters of Hamas hostages, they usually respond with some form of profanity rather than actual discussion. But when they talk about it, they often say, as one did in New York, that the posters are “making the conflict worse.” These posters feature photos of human beings, all or almost all Jews. So once again, it’s the fault of Jews, even when those Jews are clearly the victims of horrific violence. One person said that the posters promote genocide. That word is bandied about often. It creates an extreme emotional response to those who say it and believe it. The infamous letter signed by 31 Harvard student associations spoke of, “the ongoing annihilation of Palestinians.” Let’s look at that. Israel became a nation in 1948. At that time, the Palestinian population was well under a million. It is now well over 5.4 million. In the US, 1948 marks the beginning of the baby boom. That lasted until the mid-1960s. In recent years, America has had a flood of legal and illegal immigration. But with all that growth from without and within, the US population is only about 2 ½ times what it was in 1948. The Palestinian population has grown at twice that rate. Their population is five times larger now than then. It has shown steady growth the entire time. How can anyone say Palestinians have experienced “genocide” or “annihilation”? In this case, they are blaming Jews for something that never happened. But once an accusatory word against Jews enters the thinking of their haters, it is almost impossible to get it out. Naturally, they blame the Jewish state of Israel for the current situation in Gaza. That can be answered well with the words of the new Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson. To those calling for a ceasefire, he said, “There was a ceasefire before October 7, and Hamas broke it.” The present situation in Gaza is heartbreaking and hard to watch. But to blame it on Israel is to blame the victim for fighting back. America's Misguided Plan - The 'Two-State' Solution To Murder Jews – Bassam Tawil - https://www.prophecynewswatch.com/article.cfm?recent_news_id=6484 Since Hamas's October 7 massacre, thousands of Palestinians from the West Bank have been taking to the streets almost on a daily basis to voice support for the Iran-backed terrorist group based in the Gaza Strip. This is the same West Bank that the Biden administration and many Westerners are hoping will be part of a future Palestinian state next to Israel. Those who continue to promote the dangerous idea of a "two-state solution" are ignoring the fact that Hamas is sitting not only in the Gaza Strip, but in the West Bank as well. Bizarrely, President Joe Biden and some Western leaders are continuing to talk about the need for establishing a sovereign and independent Palestinian state, even after the Hamas atrocities in October. What they are actually saying is: Now that Hamas has used the Gaza Strip to invade Israel and slaughter Jews, let's give this Islamist terror group the West Bank so it, too, can use it to butcher Jews. The pro-Hamas demonstrations show that the terrorist group is popular among the Palestinians, including those living in the West Bank. The demonstrations also serve as a reminder that a large number of Palestinians support terrorism against Israel, including sickening crimes such as rape, beheadings, torture and burning women and children alive. Recent public opinion polls conducted by the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research (PSR) have shown that most Palestinians support Hamas and the "armed struggle" (murder) against Israel. Every Palestinian child knows that if presidential elections were held today, the terrorist group Hamas would win. The most recent PSR poll, published one month before the Hamas massacre, showed that 58% of the Palestinians would vote for Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh as opposed to 37% for Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas. The poll also showed that 58% of the Palestinian public supports "armed confrontations and intifada" against Israel. The pro-Hamas demonstrations have been taking place mostly in those areas of the West Bank that are controlled by the Palestinian Authority (PA), headed by Abbas. Although Abbas and other senior PA leaders hate Hamas, they are not doing anything to stop the Palestinians living under their rule from taking to the streets to celebrate the murder of 1,400 Israelis and the wounding of more than 5,000 others during the October 7 carnage. It is worth noting that in 2007, Hamas expelled the PA from the Gaza Strip after killing hundreds of Abbas loyalists, some of whom were dragged through the streets and lynched, while others were thrown from rooftops of tall buildings. By failing to curb the pro-Hamas demonstrations, the Palestinian Authority is not only complicit in incitement to murder Jews, but also acting against its own interests by emboldening its rivals in Hamas. One of the reasons why the PA is not taking any measures to stop the pro-Hamas demonstrations is because its leaders themselves are also involved in the campaign of incitement against Israel and replacing it with an Islamic state. Abbas's anti-Israel and antisemitic rhetoric sometimes appears to surpass that of his rivals in Hamas. One month before the Hamas massacre, Abbas repeated a number of antisemitic canards he has uttered over the years, including that Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler had Jews slaughtered because of their "social role" as moneylenders, not because of his racist enmity toward Jews. In a speech broadcast on Palestine TV on September 3, Abbas told leaders of his ruling Fatah faction during a meeting in Ramallah: "They say that Hitler killed the Jews because they were Jews and that Europe hated the Jews because they were Jews. Not true. It was clearly explained that [the Europeans] fought [the Jews] because of their social role, and not their religion... The [Europeans] fought against these people because of their role in society, which had to do with usury, money, and so on and so forth." It is also worth noting that it was Abbas who initiated the campaign of incitement against Israel surrounding visits by Jewish individuals and groups to Jerusalem's Temple Mount, the Western Wall of which is all that is left of the Jewish Temples (destroyed in 586 BCE and 70 CE), and which is Judaism's holiest site. In a notorious speech in 2015, Abbas falsely accused Jews who visit their holy Temple Mount of desecrating the Al-Aqsa Mosque, located on the Temple Mount: "We salute every drop of blood spilled for the sake of Jerusalem. This blood is clean, pure blood, shed for the sake of Allah... Every martyr will be placed in Paradise, and all the wounded will be rewarded by Allah... The Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Church of the Holy Sepulcher are ours. They are all ours, and they [Jews] have no right to defile them with their filthy feet. " Abbas's blood libel was interpreted by many Palestinians as a license to murder Jews. In fact, shortly after Abbas made the accusation in 2015, Palestinians embarked on a spree of terrorism in which dozens of Jews were murdered in stabbing and car-ramming attacks. Abbas and the Palestinian Authority have proven again and again that they hate Israel as much, if not more, than Hamas hates Israel. The PA leadership has been waging an unceasing campaign to vilify Israel and demonize Jews, especially in the international arena. The Palestinian leadership has repeatedly accused Israel of "genocide," "war crimes," ethnic cleansing," and "apartheid." It has also consistently threatened to file "war crimes" charges against Israelis with the International Criminal Court. For decades, Abbas has used every available podium, including the United Nations General Assembly, to spread messages of hate and lies against Israel. His ultimate goal has been to undermine and delegitimize Israel to a point where Israel would be completely isolated in the international arena. His daily incitement against Israel has not only empowered Hamas, but also promoted antisemitism around the world. Since the Hamas pogrom last month, Abbas has refrained from condemning the terrorist group. Instead, he has chosen to hold Israel responsible for the ensuing war. Essentially, Abbas is saying that Israel has no right to defend itself in the face of Hamas's atrocities. He is also implying that he sees no problem with Hamas having sent thousands of terrorists to invade Israel and brutally murdered innocent Israeli civilians. There is a dangerously false idea that Abbas or any other Palestinian leader would rein in Hamas in the West Bank. Abbas has no problem with Hamas operating in the West Bank, as long as the terrorist group is targeting Israel, and not him or the Palestinian Authority leadership. That is why he has permitted Hamas supporters to march in the streets of Ramallah, Nablus, Jenin and other West Bank cities and chant slogans in favor of Hamas. On October 29, dozens of schoolgirls marched in Jenin, chanting: "We are the daughter of [Hamas arch-terrorist Mohammed] Deif" and "We want Jihad [holy war], we want to die for the sake of Allah," and "We want to blow up the head of the Zionists." At other demonstrations by Hamas supporters, some of which were held not far from Abbas's office, Palestinians chanted: "Anyone who has a rifle, should either shoot a Jew or give it to Hamas." The idea of establishing a Palestinian state in the West Bank means turning this area into another launching pad for attacking Israel and slaughtering Jewish men, women and children. US President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Anthony Blinken can continue to argue as much as they want that Hamas does not represent the Palestinians, but everyone who lives in the West Bank and Gaza Strip knows that this is a lethal lie. Every Palestinian is aware of, and often admires, the pro-Hamas demonstrations that have been taking place in the West Bank since October 7. Every Palestinian sees, and often admires, the Hamas-affiliated armed groups that emerged in the West Bank over the past two years. Every Palestinian has also seen how Hamas won student council elections at major universities in the West Bank, including Birzeit University and An-Najah University. Every Palestinian, in addition, sees how the Palestinian Authority is unwilling to combat Hamas and other terrorist groups in the West Bank. What appears to be missed by many in the West is that it is Israel's security and civilian presence in the West Bank that is preventing Hamas, or groups such as Al Qaeda or ISIS, from seizing control of the area. What they also do not seem to realize is that Abbas is in power in the West Bank thanks to Israel's presence there. Without Israel's presence, Hamas would have taken control of the West Bank a long time ago. Creating a Palestinian state in the West Bank would mean turning it into another Iran-led base for Jihad against Jews. Despite knowing all of this, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken is in the region pushing Israel to turn Gaza over to the Palestinian Authority if and when it is liberated from Hamas. Last week, Blinken told a congressional hearing, "At some point, what would make the most sense would be for an effective and revitalized Palestinian Authority to have governance and ultimately security responsibility for Gaza." Blinken met with PA President Mahmoud Abbas on Sunday and it is assumed that the subject of the PA taking over Gaza was discussed. While the PA and Hamas are ostensibly at odds, ten days after the October 7 massacre, the PA announced they would pay the Hamas terrorists and their families $3 million from their "Martyrs' Fund". 2023 End of the Year Support Donation Drawing Like most ministries, a large amount of our support comes from people giving during the last couple of months of the year. Our prayer is that you will read carefully and understand God’s Holy View of Israel in these end times when the Jewish people are again beginning to suffer hatred throughout the world. An Open Letter to Those Who Have Been Taught That the Church Has Replaced Israel Dear Brother or Sister in Christ, If you are a member of a Catholic or mainline denominational church, you have probably been taught something called replacement theology (and perhaps you don’t even know it has that name). Replacement theology leads those who have adopted it to believe that Israel is no longer God’s people and that the modern regathering of the Jews in their historical land is theologically meaningless. Please know this is an error, and I write this letter to alert you to it so you can study God’s Word and reach your own conclusion. Replacement theology, sometimes called supersessionism or fulfillment theology, is a doctrine stating either that the Church took Israel’s place as God’s people when Israel rejected Jesus as its Messiah or that the “old” Israel was set aside in favor of a “new” Israel, the Church, upon Jesus’s first coming. No matter how it got there, the Church is now God’s people and the beneficiary of the promises God made Israel in the Old Testament. Consequently, Jacob’s blood descendants have no unique destiny, and modern Israel’s existence has no significance. Because replacement theology is often woven into otherwise sound teachings on redemptive history, many believers aren’t even aware that it is a separate doctrine with its own name. Nonetheless, replacement theology is enshrined in Catholic dogma and runs rampant in mainline denominations, even among those that otherwise take the Bible seriously. Replacement theology raises troubling implications about God’s character, not the least of which are: if God revoked his promises to Israel, what keeps him from revoking them again, and does God really change not (as Malachi 3:6 says)? Many who have been taught replacement theology have not considered these implications. Perhaps you have, too, but have dismissed them out-of-hand or rationalized them away, possibly because they are too dreadful to imagine. Unfortunately, ignoring the implications does not make them go away. Rather than addressing these (and other) broader implications, this letter will instead tackle the assumption that lies at the very heart of replacement theology: did Israel really forfeit its blessings? Did God really forsake or move past Israel? Fortunately, if you read the Bible without bias, it gives a clear answer. One point is worth making before proceeding: I don’t have the ability or the moral duty to force you to reject replacement theology. Only the Holy Spirit can convict. All I can do is call relevant scripture to your attention and invite you to check it out yourself. That is what I will now do. To keep this letter short and clear, I will rely only on two passages: Isaiah 6 and Romans 11. (If you are a Reformed believer, you tend to read Revelation figuratively, because you have been taught that it is “apocalyptic literature.” I will therefore deliberately avoid Revelation’s many passages affirming Israel’s destiny, knowing that you will be unwilling to read Isaiah and Romans figuratively.) I will cite the King James Version, but any good version will do. Isaiah 6 contains the well-known “Here I am. Send me” passage in which Isaiah volunteers to convey a message God has for his people: Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me. And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not. Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed. (Isaiah 6:8-10) God informs his people not only that they are hardened (deaf, blind and without understanding) and he is the one hardening them, but also that he has hardened them to delay their repenting and being healed. Note that God does not tell them why he wants a delay. When the disciples ask Jesus why he speaks “to them” in parables in Matthew 13, he quotes this passage of Isaiah 6: He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath. Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:” (Matthew 13:11-14) Paul also quotes this same passage of Isaiah 6 in Acts 28, reminding the local leaders of the Jews that they are hardened. And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not. And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet unto our fathers, saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive: For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. (Acts 28:24-27) Paul then discloses the reason why God hardened Israel, delaying its repenting and being healed: Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it. (Acts 28:28) According to Paul, God hardened Israel so the Gospel could be taken to the Gentiles. However, Isaiah 6 continues after the passage quoted in both Matthew 13 and Acts 28. God has more to say to Isaiah about his people. Returning to Isaiah 6, after hearing God’s decree against his people, the prophet begs God for an answer in verse 11, and God gives it to him: Then said I, Lord, how long? And he answered, Until the cities be wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land be utterly desolate. And the LORD have removed men far away, and there be a great forsaking in the midst of the land. But yet in [the land] shall be a tenth, and it shall return, and shall be eaten: as a teil tree, and as an oak, whose substance is in them, when they cast their leaves: so the holy seed shall be the substance thereof. (Isaiah 6:11-13) God promises that he will lift Israel’s partial hardening during or just after a widespread devastation. This may be a great war, even a nuclear war given the extent and degree of damage. However, it may be a direct act of God, acting in wrath. Only he knows. Why then did Jesus and Paul’s quotations from Isaiah 6 stop short of verses 11-13? The answer is that they were speaking in the First Century. Isaiah 6:11-13 would be fulfilled in the future. They were only talking about Israel’s hardened condition in those days, and not about when it would someday repent. Remember, Jesus was only answering a question from his disciples as to why he was teaching in parables, and Paul was only making the case for taking the Gospel to the Gentiles. Now, let’s look at Romans 11, in which Paul answers the question his earlier chapters in Romans begged: if Christ is the answer and the law is not, what about the Jews, to whom God had given the law? Has God turned his back on Israel? I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel, saying, Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life. But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal. (Romans 11:1-4) The answer is an emphatic “God forbid!” God will save an elect remnant of Israel, and God will save them by grace, not the law. To keep the Gentiles from being feeling superior to the Jews, Paul goes on to say: I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy. Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness? For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office: If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them. For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead? (Romans 11:11-15) Then, after describing how the holy firstfruits of lump of dough renders the whole lump holy, how a holy root can render the entire tree holy, and how branches grafted onto a holy tree become holy, even branches that had previously been cut off, Paul reveals a mystery in verse 25: For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. (Romans 11:25) Though he does not outright quote Isaiah 6:11-13, he affirms the promise God made in those verses to end Israel’s hardening. The mystery Paul reveals is that the partial hardening of Israel’s elect will end when the “fulness of the Gentiles be (has) come in.” It is important to note that none of these passages are talking about the Church. God has never hardened the Church. He has only hardened Israel, and only temporarily, for the express purpose of taking the Gospel to the Gentiles and building a Church that encompasses all peoples, nations, and languages. This he did at Israel’s great expense, but he will resurrect and magnify Israel because of it. Consider the supreme irony: God hardened Israel to benefit the Gentiles, and so many churches have returned their thanks to Israel by teaching replacement theology. God’s reply in Isaiah 6 and Paul’s teaching in Romans 11 raise two questions: when will this widespread devastation occur, and when will the fulness of the Gentiles come in? The Bible gives no clear answer; God wants us to depend on him alone for the timing. However, we can be sure of this – God will restore the elect of his people Israel. That unambiguous Biblical truth, stated explicitly both to Israel in the Old Testament and the Gentiles of the Church in the New Testament, exposes replacement theology as bad doctrine. Now it’s up to the Holy Spirit and informed believers to purge the Church of this sad error. If replacement theology now troubles you as much as it does me, please do me a favor. Consider giving a copy of this letter to a brother or sister who has been mistaught. You will be helping them and doing a good work for God’s kingdom. Prophecy Update: God’s Glorious Plan - By Daymond Duck - https://www.raptureready.com/2023/11/04/gods-glorious-plan-by-daymond-duck/ On Oct. 19, 2023, Israel Today posted an article by Charles Gardner (author, founder of Christian Publications International, former correspondent, former reporter, etc.) that says Tyrants have tried to destroy the Jews before and suggests that the Hamas killing rampage is “a sure sign that God has a glorious plan in mind which the enemy (Satan) is determined to prevent.” I think Garder is right, and here is my understanding of what he wrote: >In Egypt, Pharaoh’s order to midwives attending women giving birth to cast Hebrew male babies into a river was an effort by Satan to prevent the first coming of Jesus by destroying the line of people that would lead to Jesus’ birth (Ex. 1:1-22). But God protected a male baby called Moses who eventually led the Jewish people out of slavery. They went to the Promised Land and established the nation of Israel. >In the Promised Land, Herod the Great was visited by wise men seeking the newborn King of the Jews; Satan influenced Herod to order the death of all the babies in Bethlehem from two years old and younger (Matt. 1:1-2:23). But God protected Jesus. He eventually died on a cross to defeat Satan, redeem a people for His name (including many Jews), and come a second time to rule over His Creation. >In Germany, after the Romans had destroyed Israel and scattered the Jews all over the world, Satan influenced Hitler to wipe out all the Jews there (men, women, and babies) and establish a world government. But God raised up opposition forces, defeated Hitler, and used the killings to create sympathy for the Jews that allowed the nation of Israel to come back into being. >In Gaza, Satan influenced Hamas to find ways to enter Israel, kill Jews (men, women, and children), and try to stop the Second Coming of Jesus. But God has always acted when tyrants have tried to destroy all the Jewish people, and this gives us reason to believe that He will soon move forward with the next phase of His glorious plan. So, be encouraged and expect to see another major fulfillment in Bible prophecy soon. Here is a link to Gardner’s article: https://www.israeltoday.co.il/read/the-dragons-fury/ (FYI: On Oct. 19, 2023, many Jews gathered at the wailing wall to pray for the hostages and the success of the Israeli military. I encourage Christians in other countries to pray for the hostages and protection for their troops.) (Incidentally: On Oct. 24, 2023, Michael Synder asked, “Is it just a coincidence that the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse—white, red, black, green—are the same as the four colors on the Palestinian flag—white, red, black, green; Rev. 6:1-8?) Here are some recent stories that could mean we are getting close to major events. One, concerning a seven-year covenant with many (worthless peace treaty): on Oct. 25, 2023, Pres. Biden said, “It (the Hamas attack on Israel) means that when this crisis is over, there has to be a vision of what comes next …. It means a concentrated effort for all the parties, Israelis, Palestinians, regional partners, global leaders, to put us on a path toward peace.” (Note: This war may produce that covenant, and it may not, but it is interesting that Biden is already talking to many about a path toward peace.) (My opinion: On Oct. 25, 2023, Israel released a video of Palestinian Pres. Mahmoud Abbas and several other leaders expressing support for Hamas, calling them heroes, etc. It would be foolish for Israel to cede more of the Promised Land to people who think that those who behead Jewish babies, rape Jewish women and children, etc., are heroes. Israel should view those things as a warning from Jehovah.) Two, leaders from Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (terrorist groups on Israel’s border that are funded by Iran) met to conspire against Israel (sounds like Psa. 83:3-5). Three, concerning wars and rumors of wars: on Oct. 25, 2023, Pres. Biden sent a direct message to the Ayatollah Khamenei of Iran, saying if Iranian forces continue to move against U.S. troops in the Middle East, the U.S. will respond, and he should be prepared. Biden added, “It has nothing to do with Israel.” (More: On Oct. 26, 2023, U.S. planes struck Iranian targets in eastern Syria.) Four, concerning the Battle of Gog and Magog: on Oct. 26, 2023, it was reported that groups from Iran and Hamas have traveled to Russia to discuss ways to stop Israel’s attacks on Hamas and win an all-out war against Israel. Russia and Iran continue to support each other. Iran is helping Russia in her war against Ukraine, and Russia is helping Iran in her war against Israel (effort to destroy Israel). In addition to this, Turkey’s Pres. Erdogan is calling Hamas “Holy Warriors.” (More: On Oct. 30, 2023, it was reported that a former speechwriter for Vladimir Putin said, “Russia is quickly turning into another Iran proxy just like Hamas and Hezbollah.” He added, “I think Putin no longer cares for Netanyahu. Now he has taken this pro-Palestine stance on the conflict; any Israeli government is an enemy for Putin.” (My opinion: It is probably a little early to be dogmatic, but the latter years and latter days Battle of Gog and Magog appears to be shaping up.) Five, concerning wars and rumors of wars, despite Israel delaying its all-out invasion of northern Gaza: on Oct. 26, 2023, an undisclosed number of Israeli troops and tanks entered Gaza and destroyed several Hamas targets to “prepare the battlefield” for a decisive war. Israel is also striking targets in Syria and Lebanon on a near-daily basis. Here are some of the daily reports: Friday, Oct. 27, 2023 >Israeli troops and tanks entered Gaza for the second consecutive night. According to the IDF, they destroyed dozens of terrorist targets, some on the outskirts of Gaza City, and killed many terrorists. >Israel’s UN Ambassador told the UN Gen. Assembly, “Any call for a ceasefire is not an attempt at peace. It is an attempt to tie Israel’s hands, preventing us from eliminating a huge threat to our citizens.” He added that Israel “is not at war with the Palestinians. Israel is at war with the genocidal Jihadist Hamas terror organization. Hamas’s genocidal ideology, just like ISIS, al-Qaeda… is not just about destroying Israel. It is ultimately about world domination.” Saturday, Oct. 28, 2023 >Israeli jets struck sights all over the Gaza Strip; the military warned citizens in the northern part of the strip to move south as soon as possible, Israel announced that it was expanding its operations, thousands of troops and tanks have entered Gaza, the U.S. said the ground invasion has started, but it will occur in phases instead of being one single invasion. >Israel said they destroyed 150 underground targets. Israel also gave the Palestinians one last warning to leave the northern part of the Gaza Strip. >Turkey’s Pres. Erdogan threatened to attack Israel and send his military to Gaza (sounds like the Battle of Gog and Magog). Monday, Oct. 30, 2023 >Author and prophecy teacher Michael Snyder said Netanyahu has “rejected a ceasefire”; it looks like Israel’s troops are trying to “encircle Gaza City”; “Hamas is not strong enough to stop them”; “they are completely and utterly doomed unless they get help.” Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2023 >Israeli troops have started fighting Hamas inside the tunnels. >Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthis launched several missiles and drones toward Israel and declared war on the Jewish nation. The missiles and drones were intercepted outside Israeli territory, and now people are asking, “Will Israel strike back?” >UN Sec. Gen. Guterres said he is deeply alarmed by the intensifying conflict and appealed for the divided UN Security Council to act. >Israel struck a building in northern Gaza where several Hamas terrorists were holed up, and a tunnel under the building collapsed. This led to several other tunnels in the area collapsing, several buildings falling, the death of 50 people, and injury of about 150. >Israel is moving slowly into Gaza to protect her troops from booby traps and ambushes and to reduce civilian casualties. >Hezbollah has not launched a full-scale attack on Israel because they want to avoid the destruction of Lebanon. Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2023 >Iran signaled that it does not want a regional war (Note: This is interesting because Russia, Iran, Turkey, and others won’t attack Israel at their discretion. They will attack Israel when God drags them onto the mountains of Israel). >A Hamas official said, “We will repeat the Oct. 7 attack time and again until Israel is annihilated.” (Note: The only way for Israel to prevent this from happening again is to thoroughly defeat them.) Six, concerning world government: in a video released on Oct. 26, 2023, Dr. Tedros Ghebreyesus, head of the World Health Organization (WHO), urged nations to quickly ratify WHO amendments to the Pandemic Accords and the International Health Regulations (IHRs) with accountable implementation. If the nations ratify these documents, many experts say the nations will lose their sovereignty during a declared emergency, and the WHO will control the healthcare of everyone on earth (order face masks, vaccinations, and more). The WHO will be authorized to decide what is a pandemic, when it begins, when it ends, penalize nations that do not obey, and retain its global power for as long as it wants. Seven, concerning inflation, famine, and a global economic collapse: on Oct. 30, 2023, a World Bank report said Israel’s war with Hamas will have little impact on world oil prices if the war does not worsen, but if it gets worse, oil prices could soar, and that would drive the price of everything up (food, fuel, etc.). FYI: God does not send anyone to Hell (all of us are born with a sin nature and destined to go to Hell because we sin), but God has provided a way (Jesus) for everyone to go to Heaven (and He is the only way to get there; John 14:6). Finally, are you Rapture Ready? If you want to be rapture ready and go to heaven, you must be born again (John 3:3). God loves you, and if you have not done so, sincerely admit that you are a sinner; believe that Jesus is the virgin-born, sinless Son of God who died for the sins of the world, was buried, and raised from the dead; ask Him to forgive your sins, cleanse you, come into your heart and be your Saviour; then tell someone that you have done this. [email protected] Daily Jot: The example of Sodom - Bill Wilson – www.dailyjot.com In looking at the world’s condition, many wonder if it can get worse. The brutal attack by Islamic terrorists on Israel revealed much. It was a reminder that the enemies of Israel are hateful, cruel and barbaric. It was also an eye-opener on the hate leveled at Jews and Israel by the rest of the world. Not since Hitler’s acts in World War II has there been such open hatred toward a people. The very people who fly the banners “hate does not live here” are filled with hate. The type of hate being witnessed around the world is not just spoken, but is wrapped in the shroud of unspeakable immoral acts and begs the question of how long the Lord will wait to return and set things right. Let’s look at Sodom for an indicator. Genesis 18 is the account of the Lord revealing his plans to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah because “their sin is very grievous (verse 20).” Abraham then asked the Lord to spare the cities if there were 50, then 45, then 40, and on down to 10 righteous people found. The Lord graciously conceded that if there were 10 righteous people, He would spare the two cities. Of course, the two angels that went down to check only found Lot, his wife and daughters. The wicked people of the city tried to molest the two angels, so they struck them blind and told Abraham’s nephew Lot, who lived in Sodom, to take his family and flee to the hills, because God was going to destroy the cities. Lot, his wife and two of his daughters kept delaying their departure and finally the angels took them out of the city. Lot’s wife looked back and was turned to salt. This is a story of a most sinful and dark place, where even the righteous had the most difficult time separating themselves from the depravity. Sodom is mentioned over 50 times in the Bible. Christ pointed to Sodom as an example of how it will be upon his return. In Luke 17:28-30, Christ said, “Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.” Sodom and Gomorrah are the gold standard when talking about the depravity of mankind. They are the example of the judgment of God. Jude 1:7 says, “Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.” The sins were comprehensive. The Lord says in Ezekiel 16:49, “Behold, this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread (gluttony), and abundance of idleness (laziness) was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.” It would seem that these days in which we live are very similar to the time of Sodom. Two thoughts: When it gets as bad as Sodom (and it will), the Lord will not tarry. Also, be vigilant to be going about Christ’s business in this world, but not being of it. For being of the world is difficult to come out, exemplified by Lot’s wife. Daily Devotion: Email from God - by Greg Laurie – www.harvest.org Your commands make me wiser than my enemies, for they are my constant guide. —Psalm 119:98 https://harvest.org/resources/devotion/email-from-god/ - Listen When we want to know the will of God, we need to look in the Word of God. The psalmist wrote, “Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path” (Psalm 119:105 NLT). God never will lead us contrary to what the Bible teaches. The Bible is the clear revelation by which we measure all other so-called revelation. It is the rock of stability by which we measure our fickle human emotions. The way we know whether something is true or right is by comparing it to what Scripture teaches. This is important, because sometimes even believers allow their emotions to get the best of them instead of basing their decisions on the clear teaching of the Bible. God speaks to us through His Word. We find everything we need to know about Him in the pages of Scripture. Jesus said, “Look, I have come to do your will, O God—as is written about me in the Scriptures” (Hebrews 10:7 NLT). The apostle Paul wrote, “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right” (2 Timothy 3:16 NLT). The Bible straightens us out. It shows us what is wrong in our lives. That’s why we need to immerse ourselves in it. And as we read the Bible, often we’ll discover a certain verse that speaks directly to our situation. We’ll find the answer we were looking for. Yet sadly, many of us won’t even open it. Let’s say that you’re expecting an email from someone. You think, “I just wish he’d write me! Why don’t I hear from him?” Then one day you open your email and see a message in your inbox from the person you’ve been waiting to hear from. But instead of reading it, you get upset and think, “Why doesn’t he ever talk to me?” You need to open that email and read the message. Some Christians never read the Bible, but then they say, “God never speaks to me. I never hear Him. Why doesn’t He say something to me?” They just need to read the Bible. It’s our email from God, our message from Him. But the words don’t simply jump out. First we must open God’s Word. We have to read it. But rather than reading God’s Word, a lot of believers go to church, listen to a sermon from the pastor, and think it will hold them over for a week or two. Can you imagine surviving on one meal per week? That isn’t much. How about one meal per day? That is tough. We need to feed ourselves spiritually more often. We need more of the Word of God in our lives. But we can’t wait for other people to prepare it and serve it to us. We must learn to dig in for ourselves and read the Bible.
