A Foreshadowing of What’s To Come: Signs That Indicate Jesus’ Return Is Drawing Near – By David Jeremiah - https://harbingersdaily.com/a-foreshadowing-of-whats-to-come-signs-that-indicate-jesus-return-is-drawing-near/
When we read the headlines, it is not hard to see that our world is on a downward slide. Political tensions, natural disasters, and disease outbreaks are escalating. More and more professed believers seem to be falling away from the faith. It has caused many people to wonder whether these events are part of biblical prophecy. I can say with certainty that we are closer to the Rapture and the Tribulation than ever before. And, even as the world hurtles toward earth’s Last Days, we can find hope in God’s Word. The next prophetic event described in Scripture is the Rapture. On that day, “The Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, the believers who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever” (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17). In His Olivet Discourse, Jesus stated that no one—including Himself and the angels—knows when the Rapture will occur (Matthew 24:36). But prophetic events cast shadows, giving us a foreshadowing of what is to come. In anticipation of the end of the age, our Lord outlined several signs that would indicate His return was drawing near. These phenomena are increasingly evident in our world today. The Sign of Deception As we move toward the Last Days, Jesus said there would be an increasing danger of deception by false teachers. “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many” (Matthew 24:4-5). More and more people will search for leaders to deliver them, and they will seek mystics and religious leaders who claim to have deeper knowledge. Deception may be one of the greatest threats to the Church today, but it is nothing new. Before the religious reforms of ancient Israel’s King Josiah, the priests—God’s representatives to the people—set up idols to false gods in the temple (2 Kings 23:4). And the people willingly participated in this idolatry. They didn’t throw God out of their worship. Instead, they treated Him like He was one of many gods. The Israelites synthesized their religion with another. This type of syncretism is rampant in the world today. Our society is characterized by a culture of toleration that works for everybody but Christians. There is great acceptance and understanding for all sorts of immoral behavior, yet the world considers it unacceptable to speak of absolute Truth. In response, some churches and pastors have departed from sound doctrine. This isn’t just another trend. It is a spirit of deception taking hold of our culture. For all the deception going on today, we cannot spend our time chasing down every rumor. Our time is better spent focusing on the solution, and that is Jesus Christ. In John 14:6, He said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” Through Him, we “shall know the truth, and the truth shall make [us] free” (John 8:32). The Sign of Disputes Among Nations Jesus warned His disciples that the end of the age would be marked by “wars and rumors of wars” with nations rising against each other (Matthew 24:6,7). As dissension escalates, we can view it as a sign of the times. The book of Revelation tells us that conflict—ceaseless, unending, terrible war—will fill the Tribulation period, and it will escalate until the entire world is involved. Many countries live at peace today, but there is a growing sense of instability in international affairs. It has been reported that fifty percent of all research scientists are involved in arms development. There is at least one military weapon and four thousand pounds of explosives for every man, woman, and child on earth. In 2019, global military expenditures grew to an astonishing 1.92 trillion U.S. dollars. As shocking as this may seem, long ago the Bible predicted an escalation of conflict, border skirmishes, race wars, and national battles during the End Times. The Sign of Devastation Along with the deception and disputes of the Last Days, Jesus warned of “famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places” (Matthew 24:7). We live in a day when we can scarcely turn on the TV without seeing someone trying to raise money to feed the hungry. Even though God has blessed us with a fruitful, abundant planet, millions of people in the world face food insecurity and scarcity. COVID-19 has raised global awareness of our vulnerability to novel diseases, but it isn’t the only outbreak in our world today. According to the World Health Organization, there have been recent outbreaks of yellow fever, the plague, Nipah virus, meningitis, and many others. To make matters worse, “superbugs” are developing resistance to antibiotics. We are also witnessing an increase in the frequency and intensity of earthquakes. Between 1900 and 1969, there were roughly six major quakes every ten years. Recent data indicates that “major earthquakes” now occur more than once a month and “great earthquakes” shake the globe every year. All of these devastating trends are signs that point to the imminent return of Jesus Christ. The Sign of Deliverance Into Tribulation In the Last Days, there will be an explosion of antagonism toward God’s people: “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake” (Matthew 24:9). We are already seeing evidence of this today. Headlines carry stories about Christian business owners who are expected to set aside their beliefs in support of secular, progressive ideals. Universities and school boards admit to routinely passing over Christian faculty members for promotions. Everywhere we look, Christianity is under attack in America. Globally, the situation is even more sobering. During the 2023 World Watch List reporting period, Open Doors recorded the following crimes against God’s people:
As the Tribulation approaches, many more will pay a high price for living out their faith in our world. The Olivet Discourse is one of the most comprehensive outlines of prophecy in Scripture. Jesus shared this information so that we could see and understand the times. In Matthew 24:6, He told His disciples, “See to it that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass.” Biblical prophecy reminds us that the deception, conflict, devastation, and tribulation of the Last Days is no match for Almighty God. When we experience terrible events like the COVID-19 pandemic and persecution, Scripture reminds us that God declares “the end from the beginning” and that His “counsel shall stand” (Isaiah 46:10). By understanding the signs of the End Times in this context, we can join the apostle Paul in saying, “For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory” (2 Corinthians 4:17). The IDF Is Making Major Progress In Gaza, And That Makes Intervention By Hezbollah Much More Likely - by Michael Snyder - http://endoftheamericandream.com/the-idf-is-making-major-progress-in-gaza-and-that-makes-intervention-by-hezbollah-much-more-likely/ If Hamas had been able to hold off the IDF, the entire Islamic world would have greatly rejoiced and Hezbollah would have no need to escalate the war to the next level. But instead, the opposite is happening. The IDF has successfully surrounded Gaza City, the perimeter is being tightened with each passing day, and the tunnels that Hamas is hiding in are being systematically destroyed. On top of everything else, the bunker of the top military commander of Hamas has been “isolated”, and we are being told that he will soon be dead. All of this is going to create tremendous pressure on Hezbollah, because radical Muslims all over the globe are calling for the terror group to intervene before Hamas is completely wiped out. Of course there has already been fighting day after day along the northern front. I believe that the leaders of Hezbollah are scared of the U.S. aircraft carriers that are sitting in the Mediterranean. And I also believe that the leaders of Hezbollah are deeply concerned about how Israel will respond if this becomes an all-out war. But if Hezbollah just sits there and watches Hamas get wiped out, it will completely lose legitimacy with radical Muslims all over the world. So watch for a major intervention from Hezbollah soon, because Hamas is in huge trouble. On Tuesday, it was being reported that IDF forces were active “deep inside” Gaza City… Israel said Tuesday that its ground forces were battling Hamas fighters deep inside Gaza’s largest city, signaling a major new stage in the month-old conflict, and its leaders foresee controlling the enclave’s security after the war. The push into Gaza City guarantees that the already staggering death toll will rise further, while comments from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about controlling Gaza’s security for “an indefinite period” pointed to the uncertain endgame of a war that Israel says will be long and difficult. It is important to remember that the IDF is not just fighting Hamas. There are eight different terror organizations operating inside Gaza, but Hamas is definitely the largest. The military leader of Hamas is a man named Yahya Sinwar, and we are being told that he has now been “isolated” by the IDF in his bunker… Hamas’s Gaza leader Yahya Sinwar has been ‘isolated’ in his bunker, Israel’s defence minister said tonight, as he confirmed IDF troops are in the heart of the terrorist group’s ‘stronghold’, Gaza City. War cabinet minister Yoav Gallant said in a televised statement that the Hamas leader, who has been compared to Al Qaeda’s late leader Osama Bin Laden, ‘is hiding in his bunker and is without contact with his associates,’ but did not disclose where Sinwar’s bunker is located. Killing him would be a really, really big deal. In fact, the Israelis are actually comparing him to Osama Bin Laden… Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described Sinwar, 61, as acting like a “little Hitler in a bunker,” as he was suspected of hiding in a Hamas control centre beneath a Gaza Strip hospital. And Israel Defence Forces spokesman Lt Col Richard Hecht compared him to al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden for his role in the Hamas atrocities. Lt Col Hecht said: “Yahya Sinwar is the face of evil. He is the mastermind behind this, like Bin Laden was [with the 9/11 US attacks].” But Yahya Sinwar is not the real leader of Hamas. The real leaders of Hamas have been living lives of luxury in Qatar and Turkey while their people have been living in complete and utter poverty… The leaders of the Palestinian terrorist group known as Hamas have become multi-billionaires over the past two decades, as they launch wars in Gaza from a safe distance in Qatar and Turkey, and condemn their own people to poverty and misery. According to the Israeli embassy to the U.S., the leaders of Hamas — an acronym for Islamic Resistance Movement — “line their pockets” with money while Gazans depend on international assistance, and must suffer Hamas’s period wars against Israel. These creeps are not just millionaires. Over the years, they have stolen so much money from their own people that some of them have actually become billionaires. Just check out these numbers… Hamas leaders net worth: Abu Marzuk $3 billion Khaled Mashal $4 billion Ismail Haniyeh $4 billion Haniyeh is apparently the wealthiest of them all. His private jet takes him from one luxury hotel to another, and his sons are not exactly “good Muslims”… A 61-year-old father of 13 children, Haniyeh has been in hiding since 2019, living the high-life in luxury hotels in Qatar and Turkey. German tabloid Bild reports that he often jets between Tehran, Istanbul, Moscow and Cairo in his private jet to meet leaders in friendly nations, and two of his sons Maaz and Abdel Salam are often seen in Instagram posts lounging on hotel beds in Istanbul or Doha. Maaz, who is a very wealthy real estate mogul in his own right, is known on the Gaza Strip as the ‘father of houses’. When he’s in Turkey, he is often seen in the company of attractive women and alcohol, despite his Islamic faith. His brother Abdel Salam, meanwhile, was disgraced after being found to be siphoning off money in his role as sports ambassador for Hamas’s ‘Shura Council’ (Politburo), Bild says. If these creeps really believe what they are preaching, why aren’t they in Gaza leading the fight against the IDF? And why aren’t their sons in Gaza? Ultimately, the truth is that they are all a bunch of frauds. They have used the suffering of their own people to get filthy rich, and now they hide as others do the fighting. Such people should make all of us sick. In my brand new book entitled “Chaos” I discuss the three wars of the apocalypse, and thanks to the cowardly leaders of Hamas one of those wars has now begun. The good news is that Hezbollah has been relatively quiet so far. But the worse that things get for Hamas, the more likely it will be that Hezbollah will feel forced to intervene more directly. And once Hezbollah starts firing thousands of missiles into Israel, all hell will start breaking loose. 2023 End of the Year Support Donation Drawing Like most ministries, a large amount of our support comes from people giving during the last couple of months of the year. There’s a similar question that many of us are asking based upon our recent experience of attending churches, “Where is the hope?” If there’s anything people need today, it’s hope. We are immersed in a culture of violence, deceit, and death. In the U.S., mass shootings have become commonplace. The horrors of Hamas’ massacre shocked those not drawn into the demonic lies spread by the Palestinians. Anti-Semitic rants have become commonplace on our streets and on many college campuses causing many to fear for their lives. There’s a deepening awareness that the COVID injections murder people rather than protect them. According to a Rasmussen poll taken at the end of October 2023, 24% of Americans say they know someone who has died because of these shots, and 42% said they would join a lawsuit against the producers of these “vaccines” if they were able to do so. Instead of offering desperately needed hope at such a time as this, we hear wonderful sermons that far too often end without a peep about the promise of eternal life, even when the pastor presents the Gospel. It’s as if Jesus died so we could have our best life now. Hmmm. . . The bedrock of our faith is Jesus’ resurrection, of course, and it’s frequently proclaimed with boldness. What’s almost non-existent in many cases is the hope this truth guarantees, that of our receipt of a glorified body at the time of Jesus’ appearing. In 1 Corinthians 15:17-19, Paul tells us apart from these truths, our “faith is futile,” and we remain in our “sins.” Not only that, “we are of all people most to be pitied.” Take away the future bodily resurrection of the saints and as the KJV puts it, “we are of all men most miserable.” It’s not just the silence that concerns me, but the growing popularity of a teaching that denies the receipt of immortal bodies for New Testament saints. Of course, not all Preterists deny what the Bible says about our future bodily resurrection. Some of its adherents, such as RC Sproul, place the fulfillment of 1 Corinthians 15:47-55 somewhere in the future despite teaching that the Second Coming happened in AD 70. However, many Preterists do equate Jesus’ promise of an immortal body with the regeneration of believers, and that’s a huge problem. Do they not know that Paul addressed this exact error in his last epistle? Abandoning The Truth In 2 Timothy 2:16-18, the apostle addresses the errant teaching of Hymenaeus and Philetus: “But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness. And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.” D. Edmond Hiebert, Bible Scholar and author of several Bible commentaries, described their false teaching this way: The doctrinal error of Hymenaeus and Philetus, destructively spreading like gangrene, was their denial of an eschatological resurrection. They allegorized the resurrection by insisting it was a past spiritual experience, having occurred when they were raised from ignorance and sin as they came to know the true God. Just like many Preterists today, Hymenaeus and Philetus told fellow believers that their “resurrection has already happened.” They equated Jesus’ gift to us of immortal bodies, which Paul described in 1 Corinthians 15:50-55, with what happens at the moment of our regeneration. This, as the apostle tells us, is an abandoning of God’s truth. I have both read and heard Preterists claim that the event Paul describes in 1 Corinthians 15:50-55 happens at the moment of our salvation. I am always shocked by it. An Infection Like Gangrene Is this a serious error? Absolutely! The apostle refers to this teaching as spreading “like gangrene” (ESV). The word in the Greek is literally gaggraina from which we get our English word “gangrene.” The errant teaching is like an infectious sore in the body of Christ; it causes much damage. Such is the tragic result of denying the future bodily resurrection of the saints. Paul states that such teaching has already overthrown the faith of some (2 Timothy 2:18). Hymenaeus and Philetus must have possessed some influence over other believers as their teaching had already harmed fellow believers. Today’s Preterists have the same undermining impact on the faith of others just as the denial of a future resurrection had in Ephesus during the first century AD. This happens because today’s popular teaching:
The common theme in all these things is that of dishonoring Jesus. The Absolute Certainty Of Our Future Bodily Resurrection 1 Corinthians 15 is totally about how Jesus’ certain bodily resurrection guarantees our receipt of an incorruptible body at Jesus’ appearing. Totally! To change verses 47-54 into something that happens in our past goes against all sound principles of biblical interpretation. Furthermore, it’s precisely the error of Hymenaeus and Philetus, which Paul compared to “gangrene” in the body of Christ. Philippians 3:20-21 is another passage where Paul proclaims the truth that whether we are alive or dead at the time of the Rapture, Jesus will give us a glorious body like that of His resurrected one: “For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.” The words of Scripture guarantee that someday all those in Christ will receive immortal bodies at the time of His appearing. If these things are not true, than the Bible is mistaken and we are still in our sins. With such a glorious message to proclaim, why are pastors so silent? Why do people leave their churches asking, “Where is the hope?” People walk into our places of worship painfully aware of the culture of death in which they live and breathe. Those paying attention to what’s happening in the Middle East know that the world lies on the brink of a devastating and deadly world war. They hear talk of deadly terror attacks that will kill many thousands in America and across the free world. Because of the fear that hangs over people today, they need to hear about the hope that comes from understanding and believing Bible prophecy. Those outside of Christ need to hear that the Bible predicted that the world would look like this in the end times. Sermons that explain both Jesus’ offer of forgiveness and what that means for eternal life will resonate with many looking for hope in a world gone mad. The saints need to hear the details about their hope of meeting Jesus in the air. The deafening silence of today’s shepherds leaves both believers and those outside of Christ asking: Where Is The Hope? Peace Amid Turmoil - By Nathele Graham - Nathele Graham - [email protected] Life can be filled with turmoil. It’s been said that you’re either just entering a crisis, in the middle of a crisis, or just coming out of a crisis. That sounds a little pessimistic, but we do see much trouble all around us. Jesus said that there would be tribulation in life, but Christians have hope. “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). If you are a person with no turmoil, you are most likely a hermit living far away from modern society. Still, you have troubles. Does the roof leak when it rains? Do you have enough food stored for the winter? Do the wild animals see you as a food source? There is always something to cause us turmoil. The way we handle the turmoil depends upon our relationship with God. My mother was a very gentle lady who tried to live in a way that reflected Christ. I called her a “people magnet” because people were drawn to her, whether she knew them or not. She was a good listener and always had the right words to say to encourage others. It would seem that such a gentle person would have an easy life. Not so. The troubles she faced were major, but her faith in God was unshakable. I wish I could tell you that I, her daughter, made her life easier, but too often, I was the cause of her troubles. As I watched Mama deal with her problems, I saw she had a peace about her that was not from a human source but from the Holy Spirit living in her. She had many favorite hymns, and one of them was titled “‘Mid all the Traffic of the Ways” by John Oxenham. My mother hummed this song, and it helped to get her through some very difficult times. I find myself humming it quite often in these troubled times. ‘Mid all the traffic of the ways, Turmoils without, within, Make in my heart a quiet place, And come and dwell within; I’m not a person who deals well with city life. The traffic and noise are things that cause me distress. I prefer the peace and quiet of life in the country. Watching a deer graze in my front yard or seeing raccoons visiting my front porch looking to steal my cat’s food brings peace into my life. I enjoy listening to the frogs singing in the pond in my neighbor’s field and hearing the cattle calling to each other at night. I know this isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but even here, among the beauty of nature, there are troubles. My house needs some repairs, my dog really needs to learn obedience, I have too many cats, and the chickens don’t always lay eggs like I want them to. Those troubles may be pretty minimal compared to the horrors happening in Israel or the gang wars in cities. No matter what the trial and turmoil, peace is to be found in Jesus. We have many examples in Scripture of people facing troublesome situations, but God always gives peace and confidence amid the turmoil if we turn to Him. Paul is a good example of finding peace in every situation. Paul was persecuted for sharing his faith and often went hungry, but he wasn’t bitter. He lived for Christ, not for himself. Quite often, he was thrown in jail because of his faith, but he used every opportunity to share his faith with others. One account that stands out in my mind is the time he was in Philippi and did what he thought was a good thing. There was a woman who was possessed by a demon, and Paul cast that evil entity out of her. That act of God’s love was met with anger from her handlers. The men who used the woman to make money from the demon that possessed her had Paul and Silas arrested. In those days, there was a different kind of justice than most of us understand today. The magistrates immediately inflicted judgment. “And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely: who having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks” (Acts 16:23-24). The pain must have been awful, and not knowing what tomorrow would bring could have caused Paul and Silas to be angry with God, caused depression, and turned them away from their faith. Instead, they found a quiet place of peace, even in that prison. “And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them” (Acts 16:25). They shared their faith by praising God in a time of turmoil. Then, there was an earthquake, and the prison was opened, and the chains came off the prisoners. They could have escaped, but they all chose to stay. The jailor would have been forced to fulfill the sentences of all who escaped, and he decided on suicide, which is never a good choice. Because Paul and Silas found a place of peace among the trouble, no prisoner escaped, and the jailer was spared. The jailer understood that Paul and Silas had peace, which came from their faith, and asked them what he must do to be saved. “And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house” (Acts 16:31). Have you found God’s peace in troublesome situations? Have you been able to share your faith and help others find the peace that only comes from God? Be an instrument of God’s love rather than the hate that Satan brings to the world. A little shrine of quietness, All sacred to thyself, Where thou shalt all my soul possess, And I may find myself; Too often, we forget that when we first believe in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, the Holy Spirit is sealed within us. The Holy Spirit is the third member of the Holy Trinity and is God. He will guide you through the troublesome times if you allow it. Remember that He knows your thoughts and hears every word you say. Do the words of your mouth honor God? Do the actions of your hands show God’s love to others, even those who offend you? Find that place of quietness where God lives in you and find His peace. “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? (1 Corinthians 3:16). The Holy Spirit will guide you in God’s ways. The closer we draw to God, the greater peace we will find. When Paul left Philippi, he had established a congregation of believers and had many friends there. He kept in touch with every congregation he established, and in his letter to the Philippians, he closed by encouraging them to find peace. “Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:4-7). True peace is only found in Christ. A little shelter from life’s stress, Where I may lay me prone, And bare my soul in loneliness, And know as I am known; Do you have stress? Bills to pay, kids to shuttle from one activity to another? Appointments to keep? All of that between holding a job and finding some “me” time. It’s not always easy. One thing that most people shuffle to the “last resort” or forget altogether is prayer. Not only talking with God about your needs but praising Him in everything. A time set aside when you can lay everything out to Him and listen for His answer. A time when it’s just you and God, with no distractions, no interruptions, and just honestly talking with Him. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t have a need for time alone with God. Health issues are a common worry as well as a financial strain. God cares about these things, but He also wants to hear your praise for that promotion you were hoping for or the good grade on an important exam at school. He knows you, and you matter to Him. Even if you feel as if nobody around you cares about you or your problems, God is there to lead and encourage you every day. King David had his share of troubles; some were caused by David himself, but most were everyday problems of a king who loved the Lord and who loved the nation he led. Whatever David faced, he faced it with God. “ Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy. I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah” (Psalm 61:1-4). David found peace amid turmoil because he loved the Lord and found God’s peace no matter what situation he faced. A little place of mystic grace, Of self and sin swept bare, Where I may look upon thy face, And talk with thee in prayer. Grace is a gift from God, and oftentimes, we think we deserve His grace and mercy. God’s grace is a gift that we can’t earn but only comes by faith. “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:” (Ephesians 2:8). When we forget our own selfishness, we can be better able to approach God humbly and with thanksgiving. When we move past our own self-centered feelings, God can speak clearer to us. It’s easy to see life and troubles from our own point of view, but by sweeping our selfish desires and sin out of the way, we can then have an honest talk with God and hear His words. Admit your sin and ask to be forgiven, even if you feel justified in committing the sin. Find the peace God wants for you in spite of the hustle and bustle of daily life. When you let Jesus come into every part of your life, you will find peace amid the turmoil. Daily Jot: The pro-terrorists in America - Bill Wilson – www.dailyjot.com The news media is complicit in shaping the message of Hamas terrorism as evidenced by coverage of the weekend protests across the US where Hamas sympathizers took to the streets to demonstrate for a “Free Palestine.” Couched in words like “demanding an Israeli ceasefire,” “Palestinian solidarity,” and a “choice for morality,” media outlets like CNN are now positioning Hamas supporters as the moral high ground. In reality, the thousands that are marching for Hamas across the nation are, in fact, marching in favor of the stated goal of Hamas: the elimination of Israel and the establishment of a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capitol. This means they support the genocide of Jews. CNN, posing as an unbiased news organization, actually took the side of the Hamas supporters. In an article covering the weekend protests, CNN exclusively quoted anti-Israel demonstrators and speakers. CNN also parroted the Hamas-Iran-Palestinian Authority propaganda that Israel was targeting civilians in its assault on Hamas terrorists in Gaza. For example, CNN reported Saturday, “The nonstop Israeli bombardment has killed almost 10,000 people in Gaza, many of them civilians and a large portion of them children. Israeli airstrikes have targeted hospitals, schools, refugee camps, and ambulances, sparking outrage from the international community and warnings from rights groups that the strikes may constitute war crimes.” However, CNN, like many other news outlets, does not document the claims. This is largely because the claims are coming from the terrorists’ propaganda. Israel is not “targeting” civilians, children, hospitals, schools, refugee camps and ambulances. Israel is targeting Hamas and its leaders, who as a matter of policy use hospitals, schools, and refugee camps as human shields to prevent attacks AND to use their own people as propaganda tools to curry international sympathy. CNN failed to report that an ambulance Israel targeted was carrying Hamas terrorists. CNN did not report any of these truths, nor does it report that the people in Gaza support Hamas and elected Hamas to govern them. At some point, people need to understand the consequences of their actions when they support barbarians. NBC was slightly more honest. It sourced the Palestinian and Hamas public relations officers’ claims, which also were without documentation. The twisting of truth, the outright lies, the international community becoming the biggest suckers in the world. To Hamas, every person killed or injured is a “civilian.” They are classic liars using public sympathy to advance their cause of killing all Jews. And there are people in the United States and elsewhere gullible enough to buy into it. Let there be no mistake: Supporting a Free Palestine is advocating the genocide of the Jewish people. With this many pro-terrorist people marching in the streets, how long will it be before terrorist attacks become a way of life in America as they are in Israel? As Christ said in Matthew 24:4, “Take heed that no man deceive you.” Or media outlet for that matter. Then one day he disappeared, because God took him. —Genesis 5:23–24 https://harvest.org/resources/devotion/learning-to-walk-with-god/ - Listen Some people falsely envision God up in Heaven, eagerly awaiting the moment He will bring judgment on the earth. But that is not what the Bible says. In Ezekiel 33:11 we read, “As surely as I live, says the Sovereign Lord, I take no pleasure in the death of wicked people. I only want them to turn from their wicked ways so they can live. Turn! Turn from your wickedness, O people of Israel! Why should you die?” (NLT). And 2 Peter 3:9 tells us, “The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent” (NLT). When we look at our world and how wicked things are, we wonder, “Lord, when are You going to come and establish Your kingdom? Why haven’t You brought judgment?” The reason Jesus hasn’t yet returned is that God is waiting for more people to believe. He wants you to know Him, have faith in Him, and be ready for His return. The Bible talks about a man named Enoch, who walked with God. But it appears from Scripture that he didn’t start walking with God until his son Methuselah was born. Genesis 5:21–22 says, “When Enoch was 65 years old, he became the father of Methuselah. After the birth of Methuselah, Enoch lived in close fellowship with God for another 300 years, and he had other sons and daughters” (NLT). His son’s name helps us understand why Enoch began walking with God. The name Methuselah means “when he is gone [or dead], it shall be sent.” God revealed to Enoch that when this child died, judgment would fall on the earth. And Methuselah lived 969 years. That tells us a lot about the grace of God. The revelation that God would send judgment when Methuselah died prompted Enoch to get right with God. And the Book of Hebrews gives us insight into his relationship with God: “It was by faith that Enoch was taken up to heaven without dying—‘he disappeared, because God took him.’ For before he was taken up, he was known as a person who pleased God” (Hebrews 11:5 NLT). Maybe Enoch said to his wife one day, “I’m going for a walk with God,” and he never came home. Yet he did go home—he went to his heavenly home. He started his journey on Earth and ended it in Heaven. Some people have the mistaken notion that God is very difficult to please. He is not. He loves us. He knows all about us. Our failures do not come as a surprise to Him. He wants the very best for us. He is patient with us. His resources are at our disposal. Our lives can please God. We start by finding out what God specifically says pleases Him. And the Bible gives us some very clear truths that it identifies as things that please God.
