The 30th chapter of Jeremiah is filled with God’s promises to the children of Israel. It was meant to console and inspire the people by offering hope to the nation. It certainly did, and it still does. One promise tells us Jerusalem would be rebuilt in the same place it always was (upon her own heap; Jer. 30:18). This is why Jerusalem exists where it does today. God decreed it. A second promise tells us the population of Jerusalem will greatly increase (“I shall multiply them, and they shall not be few” Jer. 30:19). That is why the population of Jerusalem has grown from about 3,000 people in the 1840s to almost one million today. God decreed it. A third promise tells us God will punish anyone who harms Israel (“I will punish all that oppress them” Jer. 30:20). That is why Israel’s enemies keep losing wars with Israel. God decreed it. A fourth tells us Israel will have their own leaders (“their nobles shall be of themselves” Jer. 30:21). That is why Israel is ruled by Jews (not Babylonians, Romans, Muslims, etc.). God decreed it. A fifth promise tells us the Jews will be God’s people, and He will be their God (Jer. 30:22). That is why the entire world is turning against Israel. Most Jews have not yet returned to God, but they will soon learn that they are His people, and He is their God. God decreed it. A sixth promise tells us the judgment of the Lord will fall upon the wicked (“God’s fury will fall with pain” (Jer. 30:23). That is why the devastation in Gaza is so bad. God’s fury is falling upon people who have committed terrible wickedness. God decreed it. When will these promises be fulfilled? God said, “In the latter days ye shall consider it” (Jer. 30:24). Hang on because God said He will make a full end of the nations that the Jews returned home from (Jer. 30:11). (My opinion: I cannot predict the future, but I know that the Middle East problems are going to lead to a worthless 7-year peace treaty, the rise of the New World Order, and the destruction of the nations (Dan. 9:27; Rev. 13:7; Dan. 2:41-45.)) Here are some articles that made the news recently: One, concerning Israel’s attacks at and or near hospitals in Gaza: in his weekly report (Nov. 16-23, 2023), highly regarded Prophecy teacher Amir Tsarfati said, “The ferreting out of the Hamas infrastructure has continued through the past week. Al-Shifa Hospital has been a primary target because the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) must go to where the enemy is. The terrorists were the ones who chose to base their operations in tunnels below essential humanitarian targets. Any innocent lives who may be caught up in the battles are the result of the evil combatants who drew the war to the hospital. They are not the fault of the Israeli forces who warned all civilians ahead of time that they were coming so as to minimize any collateral damage.” (FYI: To his credit, Amir Tsarfati has been invited to Washington, DC, to speak at several venues, including some congressmen and senators in the coming days. That may be over by the time this article is posted.) (More: On Nov. 27, 2023, Elon Musk visited Israel. After watching videos of Hamas murdering women, children, and others, Musk said, “There’s no choice but to kill those who insist on murdering civilians. You are not going to change their mind.”) (My opinion: Sadly, Musk is right because Hamas said they will do it again and again until Israel is destroyed. If Hamas is not going to stop, Israel has no choice but to eliminate them.) Two, concerning financial aid to rebuild the Gaza Strip after Israel’s war with Hamas is over: on Nov. 22, 2023, it was reported that the Arab Gulf nations are talking about two conditions:
(My opinion: Israel has produced many plans in past years, and all of them have been rejected. It is impossible to produce a political plan that everyone will accept.) Three, concerning possible corruption in the Democrat Party: on Nov. 22, 2023, it was reported that recently released video recorded by a member of the Washington, DC, police department on his phone of demonstrators at the Capitol building on Jan. 6, 2021, shows a plainclothes police officer with a badge hanging around his neck telling another police officer, “We go undercover as Antifa in a crowd.” Some demonstrators who were arrested on Jan. 6 have said police urged them to enter the Capitol. The video has been turned over to the Congressional House Oversight Committee for investigation. (My opinion: Someone was using undercover police disguised as Antifa to urge Trump supporters to enter the Capitol, where they would soon be arrested.) Four, concerning the decline of America and the rise of a godless one-world religious system: on Nov. 23, 2023, Pres. Biden released the President’s annual Thanksgiving Proclamation, and for the first time in American history, the Pres. of the U.S. omitted all references to God or faith. (My opinion: What should Christians expect from a president who loves and promotes the godless New World Order, abortion, the gay agenda, etc.?) Five, concerning world government:
More countries need to do this. These two documents will change the WHO from an advisory organization to a controlling international authority. They will require the surrender of national sovereignty to an unelected world government during a potential crisis. Six, concerning theft and the decline of America at the end of the age: on Nov. 26, 2023, it was reported that organized shoplifting and soft-on-crime policies cost New York State retailers $4.4 billion in 2022. A bipartisan bill to create a task force to find ways to deal with it was vetoed by the governor last week. Seven, concerning wars and rumors of wars (perhaps Psa. 83, Isa. 17, Ezek. 38-39): on Nov. 27, 2023, an advisor to Iraq’s Prime Min. said if the current truce is not turned into a permanent one, “the entire region (Middle East) is on the verge of a devastating conflict that may include everyone, and the extent of its expansion or how to control and stop it is not known.” Eight, concerning the Mark of the Beast: on Nov. 24, 2023, Canada and the EU agreed to promote a digital ID system (a pre-requisite for tracking all buying and selling) and to jointly push it in the G-7, G-20, OECD, UN, and WTO. (My opinion: They have agreed to work together on a global ID system.) (More: On May 28, 2023, it was reported that the Bill Gates Foundation is attempting to replace cash with a digital ID and digital currency system in Nigeria, and the effort is supported by the World Economic Forum, EU, and several UN agencies.) Nine, concerning pestilences at the end of the age: due to an outbreak of pneumonia in China, on Nov. 27, 2023, it was reported that China is once again requiring citizens to wear face masks and follow social distancing. But today that resolve has begun to crack. At the beginning, President Biden’s support gave Israel great comfort. In an opinion piece for The Jerusalem Post, Herb Keinon cast the President in the role of Israel’s unifier and inspirational leader. “Israel is facing its own Battle of Britain moment,” he wrote. “And the leader stepping into the role of Winston Churchill — raising morale, uniting the nation, instilling a sense of hope, articulating hard truths — is not Netanyahu but Biden.” During President Biden’s October 19th visit to the Holy Land, he said, “I come to Israel with a single message: You are not alone.” He also said, “I don’t believe you have to be a Jew to be a Zionist, and I am a Zionist.” Just a few weeks ago, he said Israel will stop fighting “when Hamas no longer maintains the capacity to murder, abuse, and do horrific things to the Israelis.” On October 20th, the White House released a statement on Biden’s phone call with Israel’s Prime Minister Netanyahu. It said, “The President reaffirmed the United States’ support for Israel’s right to defend itself and obligation to protect its citizens.” President Biden’s backing of Israel against Hamas soon began to alienate members of his political base. A new Associated Press poll shows that 50% of Democrats support the President’s handling of the current conflict, but 46% do not. It’s difficult to be reelected when one’s own party is divided. And this is not an obscure foreign policy disagreement. Democrats on both sides feel passionate about this issue. At first, the President was against a ceasefire until the hostages were rescued and Hamas incapacitated. But as his party protested, he began to call for, not a ceasefire, but a “pause.” He got the pause he wanted, but it was not enough. A large part of his team wants a “permanent pause.” But a ceasefire now would allow Hamas to regroup, rebuild, and rearm. It would guarantee more rounds of bloodthirsty assaults on Israeli civilians. In the Washington Post, Michael Birnbaum wrote, “What began as a ‘bear hug’ strategy of intense backing by President Biden has become one in which US officials, facing growing blowback at home and internationally, have distanced themselves from scorched-earth Israeli tactics.” Let me briefly take issue with the idea that Israel has been fighting a “scorched earth” campaign in Gaza. When a tornado strikes, news cameras do not point at the part of town still standing. They show the dramatic stuff, the damage. This sometimes leads viewers to wrongly imagine an entire town in ruins. It’s the same in Gaza. Photos and video show the damage, creating an illusion of total destruction. But Israel has not used “scorched earth” tactics. If you look in the background of many photos, you will clearly see vast portions of Gaza still standing. And, even using the inflated casualty counts put out by Hamas, it is nothing like genocide. Nevertheless, the Administration’s strong initial support for the Jewish state is already waning. It is now pushing Israel toward policies that would ensure an ongoing cycle of violence in the region. That, in turn, ensures continued poverty in Gaza and continued Israeli strictures against Gazans in order to keep Israelis safe from terrorism. Iran's Regime Soon to Have Nuclear Bombs; Hezbollah Is Next - by Majid Rafizadeh - https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/20191/iran-nuclear-bombs Iran is closer than ever before to obtaining nuclear bombs; meanwhile, the Biden administration's only policy toward the ruling mullahs of Iran is to keep "rewarding" them with billions of dollars. After the Iran-backed Hamas terror group launched its genocidal war against Israel and Jews, the Iranian regime ratcheted up its enrichment of uranium. The regime claims it now has enough enriched uranium to make three nuclear bombs, according to one of the two confidential reports by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and seen by Reuters. On November 22, 2023, IAEA Director-General Rafael Grossi warned in his latest report on verification and monitoring: "Iran's stockpiles of uranium enriched up to 5%, enriched up to 20% and enriched up to 60% – high enriched uranium – have all increased since we met in September with the increase of the 60% continuing at the same rate as I reported at the time of the last Board." The regime has also barred IAEA's inspectors from entering Iran to monitor its nuclear activities. In a press briefing, Grossi said: "Iran has ceased to implement lots of aspects and nuclear related obligations under the JCPOA [the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action] and it's not implementing mutually agreed additional measures under the joint statement of March 4th." The European Union and the Biden administration have been turning a blind eye to the escalation, ostensibly because they reportedly do not want to add "fuel" to the current hostilities in the Middle East (which Iran's proxy Hamas started it in the first place). Nonsense. This is simply the most dangerous, disingenuous, cowardly appeasement policy in modern history. The West is basically saying, "Let's not upset the mullahs! Instead, let's allow the world's top state sponsor of terrorism to continue its march toward having nuclear weapons in the hope that it will not use them." "There is a sort of paralysis, especially among the Americans... because they don't want to add fuel to the fire," said a senior European diplomat to Reuters on the condition of anonymity. "The picture is pretty bleak, but the fact at the moment is that there is no appetite to provoke a reaction in Iran in the context of the war in the Middle East," an unnamed senior diplomat told Agence France-Presse. This feckless rush to appease aggressors and abdicate of responsibility for national security is exactly that Winston Churchill warned against: "Each one hopes that if he feeds the crocodile enough, the crocodile will eat him last." Once the Iranian regime gets access to nuclear weapons, it will most likely provide some of them to its proxies, including Hezbollah in Lebanon and the Houthis in Yemen. The threat of a nuclear-armed Iran must not be underestimated. Iran's regime has frequently threatened to wipe a whole country -- Israel -- off the map, and is also increasing military cooperation with Venezuela and Cuba to threaten the US. Europe, too, remains a rich target for nuclear blackmail. Iran would not even have to use its nuclear bombs; the threat would be enough. General Hossein Salami, the commander in chief of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has made the regime's plans vehemently clear: "Our strategy is to erase Israel from the global political map," he announced on Iran's state-controlled Channel 2 TV in 2019. In case anyone had a doubt, Iran's Supreme Guide Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, published "Palestine," a 416-page "guide to destroying Israel," and railing against "The Great Satan," the United States It is high time for the Biden administration and the European Union at least to stop Iran from selling its oil. If not, much of the planet will soon see itself either in World War III or a surrender. The present strategy of Western powers is no different than enriching Nazi Germany during WWII or the Soviet Union during the Cold War. For the expansionist, hegemonic Islamic Republic of Iran, concessions and appeasements mean only weakness. It would have been so much less costly in life and treasure to stop Hitler before he sent the German army across the Rhine in 1936. Perhaps US President Joe Biden is trying to bribe the mullahs not to create any more mayhem before next year's US presidential election – but the only result of such timidity is that the price goes up – with a worse war to follow. Biden would not have won WWII. The Iranian regime, through its proxies, has already attacked US forces in Iraq and Syria at least 74 times since October 17. US retaliation – against the proxies, not Iran – apparently could not impress Iran's regime less. Someone else takes the bullet: that is why Iran has proxies in the first place. The proxies – Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis, Palestinian Islamic Jihad -- are Iran's human shields. The more the US and the EU give Iran a pass, the more belligerent it will become. The Biden administration is not only allowing to Iran's mullahs to create a war cost-free, it is paying them to do it. So there is nothing new under the sun.” So, when it comes to Satan and his hatred of the Jewish people, nothing has changed as to his ultimate goal, but his methods keep morphing and adapting to the times we live in. He hates the Jewish people as much as God loves them, and because the return of Yeshua and His reign in Jerusalem is connected to a Jewish invitation and acceptance of Yeshua as the Messiah of Israel (Zechariah 12:10), he [Satan] is obsessed with the complete destruction of the Jews. Even though he has never fully succeeded and never will (Jeremiah 31:35-37), he keeps trying, which results in many casualties, the highest being the Holocaust. Incidentally, with 1,200 innocent victims, including very young children and the elderly, the October 7, 2023, terrorist attack was the highest Jewish death toll since the Holocaust. The aftermath of the attack has polarized the world. Israel is the polarizing factor. It took less than a week for the world to take sides either with Israel or with the Palestinians, not to mention Hamas. The mere fact that some “civilized” people would even consider siding with Hamas and their bloody carnage is a mystery to me, but it is a reality nevertheless. Within a week of the massacre, the number one topic was no longer the terrorist attack but Israel’s response to the attack in the form of Gaza ground operations to eradicate Hamas. There were even those who spoke of the need for Israel to respond proportionally. So, I am curious: does that mean that IDF soldiers should have gone into the Gaza Strip and brutally murder infants, children, women, the elderly and the handicapped? That would be equivalent to what took place on October 7, but I do not think that this is what they meant. This is the epitome of double standards! On October 7, Hamas declared war on Israel, and when a war takes place, there are casualties, which include civilians. It is inevitable. Israel didn’t provoke Hamas, but she responded to the bloodiest terrorist attack since 1948. Additionally, as they always do, the IDF reached out to the Palestinians living inside the Gaza Strip to let them know in advance that they would get in to destroy Hamas. No other country in the history of the world has ever warned people before they attack. This goes contrary to basic warfare. But Israel is more concerned about saving lives than killing innocent people, even if the lives saved are on the enemy’s side. To be sure, Palestinians are not the enemy…Hamas is! Palestinians are victims of Hamas, as we have seen them [Hamas] force people to stay in Gaza and even use people as human shields. The issue of Israel is quickly and globally becoming a dividing factor. We are witnessing people chanting, “From the River to the Sea, Palestine shall be free!” on university campuses, public places and even government places. The vast majority of young people chanting that motto do not even know its meaning. In the search for what they believe is social justice, they become blinded to the truth and misguided by historical revisionism. Unbeknownst to them, they are calling for a complete genocide of the Jewish people. They are promoting a 21st-century version of “The Final Solution to the Jewish Question.” There will always be people who support Israel’s right to exist, based on the biblical covenants and brought onto the modern stage by the Balfour Declaration (1917), the San Remo Conference (1920) and the United Nations partitioning vote (1947). The concern is that people who support Israel are becoming a rarity, even within the evangelical camp. Why are Christians turning their back on Israel? Why are people silent about the original massacre that took place on October 7? How could such an irrational move take place? How could the victims become the perpetrators and be called the “Nazis of the Middle East?” The answer can be found in the Bible through the words of the prophet Zechariah. In the End times–which we are very quickly approaching–the entire world will gang up against Israel. Zechariah 12:3 says, “It will come about in that day that I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples; all who lift it will be severely injured. And all the nations of the earth will be gathered against it.” Taken literally and in context, this simply means that eventually, the whole world will go against the Jews and Israel without exception, at least corporately. It doesn’t mean that every single human being will become an enemy of the Jews, but rather that every country and/or government will become Israel’s enemy, while some of the people within might remain friendly to the Jewish state. The result will be the same and can be found just a few verses later in Zechariah 12:9, “And in that day I will set about to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem,” when God vows to avenge Israel and destroy all of her enemies. None of what is happening should come as a surprise to students of the Bible who also take Bible prophecy seriously. The world is not falling apart; God’s program is falling into place! Israel might increasingly be viewed as a thorn in the flesh of the world and a hindrance to world peace, but God will not be fooled. As we approach the final chapter of history before the return of the Messiah, Israel will undoubtedly become more and more of a pariah on a global scale, but that will never change God’s promise to preserve her and His promise to also destroy all those who go after her. It is very sad to see people take sides with Hamas and victimizing the perpetrators. I personally cannot fathom how a Bible-believing Christian can possibly love God so much and hate Israel so much at the same time. Asaph spoke against that very behavior in Psalm 83:1-5, “O God, do not remain quiet; Do not be silent and, O God, do not be still. For behold, Your enemies make an uproar, And those who hate You have exalted themselves. They make shrewd plans against Your people, And conspire together against Your treasured ones. They have said, “Come, and let us wipe them out as a nation, That the name of Israel be remembered no more.” For they have conspired together with one mind; Against You they make a covenant“ That’s right… if you hate Israel, you hate the God of Israel! As a Christian, you cannot be in God’s will to bring Him glory and hate His chosen people. As the whole world is becoming increasingly polarized on the issue of Israel, Christians shouldn’t hesitate; they should take God’s side and be friendly to Israel. This might become the best opportunity we have to rebuild bridges burnt by centuries of antisemitism and share the hope we all have in Messiah. Standing up and speaking out for the truth and in support of Israel and the Jewish people might feel lonely, but ultimately, we are standing with God! Daily Jot: Changing the prophetic family legacy - Bill Wilson – www.dailyjot.com The holiday season is a time when we think about family and getting together to share the blessings of being around our loved ones. It is a time that is celebrated beginning with Thanksgiving—thanking the Lord for our many blessings because He is with us always—and extending through Christmas where we honor the birth of Christ who brought us eternal salvation (even though he likely wasn’t born in December). But so many around the world are unable to celebrate these good tidings with family members because they are estranged or feuding, which makes the season very sad. The Bible gives us a very good example of how to handle even the deepest division within our families. Genesis 32-33 recalls the story of Jacob and Esau reconciling their relationship after 22 years. It begins with Jacob being extremely distraught with news that Esau was coming with a company of 400 men. Jacob prayed to the Lord in Genesis 32:11, “Deliver me, I pray of you, from the hand of Esau: for I fear him, lest he will come and smite me, and the mother with the children.” Now Jacob, being wise, sent Esau hundreds of goats and sheep as well as camels, cattle, and donkeys. Jacob hoped Esau would “accept” him. Essentially, Jacob went before the Lord in prayer and then began humbling himself before Esau. He even restored much of the inheritance he wrestled away from Esau in deceiving their father Isaac into giving Jacob the blessing of the firstborn. The night before Esau came, Jacob, still distressed, was alone. Genesis 32:23-30 tells us Jacob wrestled with a “man” until daybreak. Jacob wouldn’t let go until he received a blessing, as the “man” was God. We know this because the “man” told Jacob “Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel.” And Genesis 32:30 says “Jacob called the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.” Esau and his band of 400 came that morning. Jacob “bowed himself to the ground seven times, until he came near to his brother.” Esau ran to Jacob, embraced him, kissed him and they wept. Jacob wrestled with God and would not let go until he received an answer. Jacob’s humility before Esau led to reconciliation. In Genesis 33:10, Jacob says, “I have seen your (Esau’s) face, as though I had seen the face of God, and you were pleased with me.” Even with their reconciliation, we see that this family feud continues between Arabs and Jews because of the choices people make. We control our choices. We can choose to continue in distrust and animosity, which becomes a bitter root. Or we can choose to humble ourselves before the Lord and put away the pride at the center of division. We can focus on the good rather than the negative, irrespective of what others choose. What choice can we make that will change the legacy of our family, mend our hearts, and please our Father which is in heaven? Through the example of Jacob wrestling with God, receiving blessing, and choosing humility before his estranged brother, we too, can find the blessing of reconciliation. If the other person chooses to remain estranged, we are blessed by our choice in humility before God. Lewis said, “The future is something which everyone reaches at the rate of 60 minutes an hour, whatever he does, whoever he is.” We live by time. God is outside of time. This doesn’t mean that God isn’t aware of time, because He is completely aware of every minute and second of our lives and everything that happens in them. But He lives in the eternal realm. God’s interpretation of time is quite different from ours. He has His timing. And there are times in life when it appears as though God is late, that He is somehow disengaged and not paying attention. Sometimes as we look at the way things are, we wonder whether God is aware of what the world is like. Why has Christ not come back? The implication is that God is somehow off schedule. However, the Bible says of Christ’s return, “The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent” (2 Peter 3:9 NLT). Jesus Christ will come back to this earth at the appointed time that God has determined. When Jesus came to Earth the first time, the people of Israel were tired of waiting. They felt it was time for the Messiah to arrive. These were difficult and dark days in Israel’s history. They were under the control of Rome and the tyrannical rule of the puppet king known as Herod. The fact is that 6 BC was a lousy time to live in Judea. The people hadn’t heard from God for 400 years. Not a single prophet had said, “Thus saith the Lord. . . .” There hadn’t been any miracles or angelic appearances. Instead, there was a stony silence from Heaven. The people were probing, searching, and wondering when things would change. But there was a sense that something was in the air, that something was about to break. And indeed, it was. The moment was coming for the Messiah to arrive. It all began with the aged priest Zechariah, who was in the temple bringing sacrifices on behalf of the people. The angel Gabriel appeared with the announcement that he would be the father of John the Baptist the forerunner of Jesus. It was a day like any other day when the supernatural invaded the natural. It was the day that God chose to reveal to Zechariah that he was going to be the father of the forerunner of the Messiah. Zechariah was praying, and God heard him and answered his prayer. The Bible says, “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done” (Philippians 4:6 NLT). No matter what you’re facing, no matter what kind of challenges you’re going through, you need to pray. There may be things that we go through in life that don’t make sense. But one day we will know. Until then, we must trust God and surrender ourselves to Him.
