Hi Folks, I’m back and I survived the weekend, I could write a book on everything that happened to me in the last couple of days, but I’ll spare you (most) the details. Thank you for all that prayed for me and sent emails, I will try to reply later after I catch up! Anyway, I have good, gooder, and goodest news (don’t worry I know the latter two are not proper words!)! Anyway, the good news is I’m made it back from taking my 82-year-old mom down to San Diego over the weekend to visit her best friend for Christmas! We departed Friday morning and even though I stopped taking the muscle relaxants Thursday I was still under their strong affect and probably should not have driven. We were about half-way there when suddenly it was if I woke up, I didn’t even remember driving. Saturday morning I was going to try to send out a newsletter and when I turned on my laptop, it was fried, completely unusable, and I have never had any problems at all before! The gooder news is even though I was still in severe pain all weekend, after getting home late last night I was laying in bed and realized for the first time in two weeks I was not hurting, and so far, today it’s just a little tender. The goodest news is that the Subsplash App is finally live (merry Christmas) and I’ll be announcing more about it tomorrow as I still need to tweak a couple of things. Blessings, Who Owns the Golan Heights? - By Daymond Duck - https://www.raptureready.com/2023/12/16/who-owns-the-golan-heights-by-daymond-duck/ In 1967, Egypt, Syria, and Jordan attacked Israel in what is called the 1967 War. Israel captured the Golan Heights in 1967 and annexed them in 1981; Jews are living there today, and they are growing crops on them. On Mar. 25, 2019, Pres. Trump recognized the Golan Heights as sovereign Israeli territory. In June of 2019, to honor Pres. Trump for recognizing the Golan Heights as sovereign Israeli territory, Israel announced plans to build a community on the mountains and name it Trump Heights. One year later, Israel budgeted the equivalent of about $2.3 million to build infrastructure and homes at Trump Heights. Many nations (Syria, Russia, Turkey, Iran, and others) refused to recognize that the Golan Heights are part of Israel. Their objection will probably play a role in the destruction of Damascus in one night (Isaiah 17) and the defeat of Russia, Turkey, Iran, and others in the Battle of Gog and Magog in the latter days and latter years (Ezek. 38-39). The Bible says the nations around Israel will claim the mountains of Israel, slander Israel, and make God angry at the end of the age (Ezek. 36:4-12). God added that He will be on Israel’s side; Israel will possess the mountains and grow crops on them. On Nov. 27, 2023, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution calling upon Israel to withdraw from the Syrian Golan Heights. The problem that the UN, Syria, and all the others have is that God said the mountains are His (not Syria’s), and He will give them to Israel at the end of the age. The world cannot liberate them because God has already liberated them and given them to Israel. Who owns the Golan Heights? The issue has been settled in heaven, and Israel’s enemies would be wise to accept what the Bible says. Here are some recent reports that seem to relate to Bible prophecy. One, concerning world government, a digital ID, and tracking everyone: on Dec. 6, 2023, Worthy Brief reported:
Two, concerning pestilence at the end of the age and a population reduction: on Dec. 2, 2023, it was reported that a New Zealand government whistleblower has produced evidence that shows that more than 20% of New Zealand’s citizens have died since receiving Covid mRNA vaccinations. Three, at some point following the Rapture, the Antichrist will confirm (strengthen) a peace treaty with many for seven years of peace in the Middle East (Dan. 9:27). When the Antichrist confirms (strengthens) that covenant, world leaders will declare “peace and safety” (some translations say “peace and security”), and then sudden destruction (the Tribulation Period will come (I Thess. 5:1-3). “Peace and safety” and “peace and security” are the same thing. Many world leaders and prophecy teachers know that the Iranians and Palestinians have tried to thwart a peace treaty, and the Arabs have refused to negotiate a peace treaty until Israel meets the demands of the Palestinians. Anyway, on Dec. 6, 2023, UN Sec. Gen. Guterres invoked Article 99 of the UN Charter, which allows him to ask the UN Security Council to restore the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas because the war is threatening “peace and security” on earth. The UN Security Council met on Dec. 8, 2023, to discuss Mr. Guterres’ request, and the U.S. vetoed it. (My opinion: A demand from the UN Security Council might bring a declaration of “peace and security” at some point in the future, but if it does, it will not produce peace and security on earth.) Four, concerning a covenant of peace in the Middle East: on Dec. 8, 2023, officials from Turkey, Jordan, Egypt, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia went to Washington to try to get the U.S. to push a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas war. While there, they urged the U.S. and the international community to accelerate the two-state solution (a peace treaty to divide Israel and give East Jerusalem and the Temple Mount to the Palestinians) in the Middle East. They want a peace treaty or an agreement to sign a peace treaty in one year. Incidentally, it may or may not be significant, but most of these nations are mentioned in Psalm 83. (My opinion: Israel is no longer seeking a peace treaty with the Palestinians. Israel is looking to establish a security zone in Gaza and to influence who governs Palestine.) Five, concerning perilous times and wars and rumors of wars at the end of the age: on Dec. 10, 2023:

[email protected] The Fig Tree Is Alive: Are We Among the Generation That ‘Shall Not Pass Away’? – By Amir Tsarfati - https://harbingersdaily.com/the-fig-tree-is-alive-are-we-among-the-generation-that-shall-not-pass-away/ Hebrews 1 says, “God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds…” So, here we are seeing that Jesus never contradicted a single verse from the prophets. In fact, He continued in the same mantle. Toward the end of His ministry, Jesus was on the Mount of Olives surrounded by His disciples. None of His disciples were “Christian” at that point. They were Jewish. So, Jesus taught his Jewish disciples while He was in Jerusalem. And to make it very clear, in the history of planet Earth, Jerusalem was never the capital of any other nation but Israel. So, here you have the Jewish Messiah speaking to His Jewish disciples in the Jewish capital of the Jewish people. We have to understand that the questions He was asked by his disciples—to which He gave a great, lengthy, and detailed answer—were authentic Jewish issues related to the Jewish Temple, the Messiah, and the last days. No Gentile at the time was thinking about the last days, the Messiah, or the Temple in Jerusalem. Jesus was talking to Jews about Jewish matters that only interested the Jews. He spoke on the Mount of Olives. That is why Matthew 24 is called the Olivet Discourse. By the way, He was not angry with their questions. He understood exactly where they were coming from and took His time to give them a detailed answer. First, in verses 4 to 31, He spoke to His Jewish disciples about the future of the Jews. But then, starting in verse 32, He also gave them a different perspective of things to come. And He was talking about something else, someone else, another group of people which, by the way, they are also part of. Learn from the Fig Tree In Matthew 24:32-35, Jesus said, “Now learn the parable from the fig tree…” In the middle of His teaching on Israel and all the things Israel will go through, He stops to tell His disciples: “Now listen, I want you to learn a parable from the fig tree.” In other words, He makes it clear that what He says about the fig tree is not literally about a fig tree; it’s a parable of the fig tree—a symbol of something different. He is basically saying: Look, “when its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know…” It’s not “you think” and it’s not “you guess.” It’s “you know that summer is near. So you also, when you see…” Again, it’s not when you talk about it, it’s not when you hope for it, and it’s not when you dream of it. It’s “When you see” (with your very eyes) “all these things, know that it is near.” Not 200 yards away, not 200 miles away. Where? “Right at the door.” Right there! So, Jesus reminds the disciples, “Look, the fig tree, remember the fig tree (of Matthew 21:18-20)? That fig tree that died, it’s going to come back to life.” Then He said, “the generation that will see the ‘rebirth’ of that tree, that generation shall not pass away till all these things take place” (Matthew 24:32-35). What things? His coming back. God’s Word Stands Forever Heaven and earth will pass away, but Jesus’ words will not pass away. Just like God said through Isaiah: “The flower fades, the grass withers, but the Word of God stands forever” (40:8). Wow! So, Jesus stopped His entire description of the end times of Israel to tell His disciples, “Now listen. I want to talk to you now, not as Israel, but as My followers. If you follow Me, you can escape destruction. And, if you’re following Me and alive to see the fig tree blooming… that’s it! That’s the last generation.” Wow! Before we talk about the fig tree, let’s talk about the word “generation.” Scholars, theologians, teachers, and pastors have pondered and debated about the timeframe of a generation. Some say it’s 20 years, some 30 years, some 40 years, others say longer. But none of those answers are correct. We need to understand that biblically, a generation has always referred to the longevity of mankind. That means the time between conception and natural death. So, the average lifespan of a group of people living at about the same time constitutes the length of a generation. Before the Flood, the Bible tells us the average lifespan of a man was over 900 years. Today, if a man makes it to 100, he’s a celebrity. So, which generation was Jesus talking about when he said, “this generation shall not pass away” (Matthew 24:34)? He was speaking of the generation that will see the fig tree come back to life. Wow! I believe He is referring to believers who witness the most significant end-time prophecy: the “rebirth” of the fig tree—the rebirth of Israel. Israel Reborn Israel in the Scriptures was described by three different types of trees: the vine, the fig tree, and the olive tree. Each of them was a symbol of something else. The vine symbolizes Israel’s spiritual privileges (Psalm 80, Isaiah 5, and Jeremiah 2). The fig tree symbolizes Israel’s national privileges (Hosea 9, Jeremiah 24, and, of course, Matthew 24). The olive tree represented Israel’s religious privileges (Hosea 14, Isaiah 17, Isaiah 24, Psalm 52, Psalm 128, and Romans 11). Romans 11 speaks specifically of Israel as the “good olive tree” and the Gentiles as the “wild olive tree.” Some of the branches of the original olive tree were chopped off, and the Gentiles, the wild olive tree, were grafted in. So, Gentile believers are now partakers of the blessing with Israel—not instead of Israel. In fact, the Church can trust the promises of God because He keeps His covenant with Israel. And the fig tree is coming back to life! It was cursed, but it is not dead forever. When the Jewish people started coming back to the land of Israel toward the end of the 1800s, they found exactly what Mark Twain wrote in his diary as a traveler: “I’ve never seen such a barren wasteland in my life where we hardly saw a living creature.” So God first inspired the Jewish people to return to their homeland. That is the meaning of “Zionism”—the Jewish belief that your place is in Zion. So, the desire to go to Israel was the beginning of that fig tree returning to life! In Ezekiel 36:8, God said: “But you, O mountains of Israel, you will put forth your branches and bear your fruit for My people Israel, for they will soon come.” The Lord knew that there was no way that hundreds of thousands and later millions of Jews could thrive in a barren wasteland. It would never work. So what did the Lord do? He spoke fertility, and boom! Look what happened—today Israel exports food. While farm workers are only 3.8% of the workforce in Israel, they produce almost 100% of our food. Israeli cows are the most productive cows in the world. Israel leads the world in technology to extract water even from the air. Israel invented the drip irrigation system and exports desalination installations around the world. It uses solar energy like no other country does. And 90% of its wastewater is being purified and recycle for agriculture. One of the smallest nations on earth, Israel is thriving. That’s God’s way of saying, “The fig tree is coming back to life.” Ezekiel 36 talked about how God would heal the land in preparation for the Jews to return to their land. Then in Ezekiel 37, Ezekiel was brought to a valley full of dry bones. He was so terrified that he asked, “What is this?” The Lord replied, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel; behold they say, ‘Our bones are dried up and our hope has perished. We are completely cut off!’” That means they’re alive, but barely. Like a person with bones and skin—but hopeless and thinking that God has forgotten all about him. That was the picture we saw when Jews were liberated from Nazi death camps. Men, women, and children barely alive. Skin and bones, but no hope. And collectively believing, “God has forgotten all about us.” But God had promised, “Behold, I will open your graves and cause you to come up out of your graves, My people; and I will bring you into the land of Israel” (Ezekiel 37:12). Not Palestine! Not Arab Land! The Land of Israel! God Has Done It Then He said, “Then you will know that I am Yahweh, when I have opened your graves and caused you to come up out of your graves, My people. And I will put My Spirit within you, and you will come to life, and I will place you on your own land. Then you will know that I, Yahweh, have spoken and done it” (Ezekiel 37:13-14). Wow! And He has literally done that. So, in 1948, the nation was born! Even then, Israel was born as a nation on the verge of annihilation every day—every single day of that year, the following year, and the following year after that. Every single day since 1948 has been a gift from God, because Israel was supposed to be destroyed! The nations that came against Israel in 1948 have tried to destroy the land repeatedly and failed at every turn. What was it that they wanted in 1948? Oil? Gas? We had none of those. They wanted us to be cut off from being a nation so that the name of Israel would be remembered no more. However, 1948 is also when we start counting a generation. Just consider what has changed since Israel’s modern founding. Israel was small, vulnerable, insecure, dangerous, and very poor. Compared to then, Israel today is safe, secure, and prosperous. But 75 years have passed since 1948. I believe the Feasts of Trumpets, Yom Kippur, and Tabernacles will be fulfilled to the people of Israel when the Lord comes back. The Jewish people pray in Hebrew every morning: “May our eyes behold Your return to Zion with mercy.” They want Him to come, but they do not believe the Messiah is returning for a second time. They think He is coming for the first time. Jewish people also understand that before the Messiah comes there will be a terrible time of tribulation. They believe that there has to be a great time of repentance. The repentance and God tabernacling physically on Earth with His people will happen as God fulfills those feasts to Israel just as He did with the first four feasts. The importance of the Church and Israel is conveyed in God’s command in Numbers 10:1-2 for Moses to make two trumpets—two Silver trumpets. Why two? Why silver? Why trumpets? Trumpets are a means to announce the coming of someone. Silver is a precious metal, but not perfect. And two, because there are only two groups of people on earth that God called out, “You are My witnesses.” Israel in Isaiah 46 and the Church in Acts chapter 1. Throughout the Old Testament history of Israel, the Church did not exist. But from the moment the Church was born, the nation of Israel was thrown out of the Land. Only since 1948 have the two co-existed to bear witness to the coming Messiah. The trumpets are sounding! Are You Ready? Some Christians are ready to go; others are simply tired. Either way, their attitude seems to be, “How long can we still stay here?” My response is Philippians 4:4: “Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice!” Paul went on to affirm, “The Lord is near.” That is why we need to rejoice, and why we need to “hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful” (Hebrews 10:23). What hope? Our Blessed Hope! (Titus 2:13). What promises has He kept? All of them! Everything He said has happened. Israel is back in the Land just as He said. The fig tree is alive! We can rejoice that we are in the generation to see the sign of Israel. And, we can bless the Holy One of Israel—Who is the Lamb of God, and the Lion of the tribe of Judah. Sodom-likeness Grows – Terry James - https://terryjamesprophecyline.com/2023/12/17/sodom-likeness-grows/ The homosexual lobby in the days of Lot in Sodom, according to the nineteenth chapter of Genesis, must have indeed been in control of city government—and of all other aspects of city life. This is likely because Lot was a high official in city government. He sat in the gate to Sodom as a judge, a position from which he adjudicated business matters and, I presume, other matters of judicial interest. The homosexual men of Sodom showed no deference to or regard for Lot in surrounding his home and demanding that he send out the man’s visitors who appeared as men, but were angels sent by God to assess what was going on in the wicked city. We can therefore assume that these blatant, would-be rapists were fully in charge and unafraid of consequences for their rapacious activities once the sun went down. A city judge’s (Lot’s) guests were to be their victims. The comparison I wish to draw between America today and ancient Sodom is that the homosexual lobby, although insignificant in constituting a percentage of the American population, has become a powerful influence over everything from business and law to entertainment and government, and even religion. Most troubling is that the homosexual lobby is becoming a devilish intrusion into American family life. We know of the stories of the current presidential administration allowing—or instructing—the FBI to investigate the matter of a number of public schools introducing pornographic sexual curriculum to minors. The salacious material is not just heterosexual in nature, but it more and more involves homosexual inculcation. The Sodom-likeness part of all this is that the FBI agents, in many cases, aren‘t sent into the school boards and other forums to investigate those who are introducing these inappropriate themes to under-age kids without parents’ permission. Rather, the agents are sent to investigate and charge (with various levels of domestic terroristic threatening) the parents who object to the wickedness. Government and the homosexual-controlled cabal are often intricately linked. A growing number of officials are like the ones must have been in the city government of Lot’s day. They join in moving ever farther into evil conduct, against which the Lord is bound to bring judgment at some point. A pertinent report and analysis grabbed my attention in considering all of the above. It is quite telling as to where we stand on God’s prophetic timeline, I think. Biden wants to essentially ban Christians from adopting foster care children based on their religious beliefs and opposition to radical LGBTQ ideology. U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has proposed a new rule that would prohibit families who do not support LGBTQ ideology from caring for foster children. According to the Social Security Act, federally funded foster care agencies must provide “safe and proper care” for foster children. The United States Administration for Children and Families (ACF), a division within HHS, proposed that foster families meet three specific criteria to ensure that LGBTQ-identifying children are in a “safe” and “nurturing” home. Those criteria essentially force Christian parents to affirm a child’s pretend gender as opposed to supporting children truthfully based on their biological sex and providing them appropriate support and resources to move away from the radical leftist ideology that pushes hormones, sex changes and mutilation of children to conform to its extreme sexual agenda. “Responding to the radical proposal, 19 Republican attorneys general are pushing the Biden administration to back down on a new rule they say will effectively exclude Christian families from fostering kids and jeopardize the foster care system nationwide,” Fox News reports. Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall, along with 18 of his GOP colleagues, sent a letter Monday to the Department of Health and Human Services alerting them that a new proposed rule that alters requirements for foster care families violates the Constitution and discriminates against people who practice the Christian faith. (“Joe Biden Wants to Ban Christian Families from Adopting Children in Foster Care,” Steven Ertelt, LifeNews.com, November 28, 2023) This proposed new rule hits home particularly hard with my wife and me. Although we weren’t given official foster-care responsibility because we were the age of grandparents rather than parents, we were asked a number of years ago by local government people to temporarily care for a young girl because of her family’s terrible situation. We still think of her as a grandchild, although she is now twenty years old. We saw firsthand the public education and its effect in less-than-favorable light when, at eleven years old, she informed us she should be a boy, not a girl. This is what she was told by those in authority at school. And ours is a small city in the South, and quite conservative. Of course, we had quite a bit of conversation and loving counsel with our little girl. She grew up and out of that inculcation she had received, although she still suffers from that time of such teaching in public schools—adding to her biological family’s troubles. Today, my wife and I would probably be charged with some kind of criminal neglect, at the very least, for going against some teacher’s instructions, the way things in America are going with such teaching by some still allowed, and with proposed rules such as that above. This illustrates how very important is the need for Christian influence, thus Holy Spirit restraint, in this age, during which the Antichrist spirit is growing exponentially. Just like in Lot’s day, the Lord of Heaven must be on the very cusp of calling believers to Himself in the clouds of Glory. I believe with all that is within my spirit that every child below the age of accountability will go to Christ when He summons His Church (see Revelation 4:1, when the Apostle John was so summoned.) Be sure you are part of that blessed throng of believers who are caught up in the Rapture. Here is how to be certain you will: That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Most of us consume more than a thousand hours of “programming” each year, and the vast majority of that “programming” literally celebrates evil. Just think about it for a moment. When is the last time that you watched a program on television that focused on things that are noble, true, honest, pure and virtuous? From time to time you can find a show like that, but most of the content on our televisions is full of garbage. And if you pour thousands of hours of garbage into the minds of the American people, you are going to get a demonic society in which just about every form of wickedness that you can possibly imagine is exploding all around us. For example, on our televisions you can find endless content that features occult themes, and now Satanic displays are literally being set up in public spaces all around the nation. The “sparkling demonic ram’s head” that was just set up in the Iowa Statehouse is currently making headlines all over the nation… The Satanic Temple has set up a display of a sparkling demonic ram’s head in the Iowa Statehouse as an expression of ‘religious freedom’. Alongside more traditional menorahs and Christmas trees, the group have erected an altar topped with candles, a large banner and a ram figure with a skull covered in mirrors, a red cloak and wreath. The Temple reportedly went through all of the correct administrative channels for the display, and only had their original request to use a real goat’s skull denied. Of course this isn’t the first statehouse to feature such a display. Meanwhile, After School Satan Clubs continue to “gain popularity” all over the nation. This week, I came across an article about a chapter that is opening up right in the heart of the so-called “Bible belt”… An After School Satan Club plans to begin offering activities to children at a Tennessee elementary school following Christmas break, officials said, and the move immediately proved controversial. The Satanic Temple plans to host the club at Chimneyrock Elementary School in Cordova, news outlets reported. It will begin meeting on Jan. 10 in the school’s library and run through the spring semester, according to an announcement Tuesday posted on social media. Needless to say, you don’t have to actually take your children to such a club to expose them to Satanic content. All you have to do is sit them down in front of the television and turn on Netflix. Sadly, reality often exceeds the horrors that our children see depicted on their screens. Child abuse has become a national pastime, and way too often children that are being systematically abused end up dead… An Illinois boy was found beaten and starved at his home before he tragically died in hospital had a sign on his bedroom door read: ‘Don’t give Navin any food.’ Navin Jones, eight, was found unresponsive in a skeletal and emaciated state at his Peoria home on March 29, 2022. His father now faces up to life in prison if convicted of first-degree murder – while his mom already pleaded guilty to the heinous crime. The little boy weighed just 30 pounds, and he was found in a locked room that was covered in urine and feces. He had signs of physical abuse across his face, body, arms, and legs. How can something like this happen? Well, the truth is that a demonic society produces demonic results. We wanted our lives to be like what we saw on television, and now it is really happening. We love to entertain ourselves with shows about crime, and now crime is out of control in much of the country. Organized gangs of thieves have become accustomed to taking whatever they want, but once in a while they run into someone with a gun… This is the moment an elderly employee scared off a gang of robbers with a gun after they attempted to ransack his Bay Area store on Monday. Albert Marcu faced down a group of would-be robbers with sledgehammers after they stormed the Estates Consignment Store in Pleasant Hill. Surveillance video shows an apparent coordinated attempt to rob the store as a woman on the phone held the shop door open, allowing a group of men to run in. There is endless violence on our televisions too. And these days we are witnessing acts of violence that are almost too horrific to describe… A 46-year-old naked man, covered in blood, was reportedly on top of the body of his decapitated mother when police arrived at the man’s Jersey Shore apartment building. Jeffrey D. Surgent called 911 on Friday afternoon confessing he’d just killed his mother, according to NJ.com. Police arrived to find 74-year-old Alexandri M. Surgent dead in her son’s hallway. The victim’s severed head was found a few feet away from where the Surgents were lying. What in the world has happened to us? We were once a “city on a hill” to the rest of the world, but now we have become a bad joke. Right now, we are in the midst of the worst drug crisis in our entire history, and things have gotten so bad that even elementary school children are consuming fentanyl in their gummy bears… Five elementary school students have received medical attention in Virginia after ingesting fentanyl-laced gummy bears, something that one of the children brought from their home, officials say. The incident happened Tuesday at Central Elementary School in Amherst, a town north of Lynchburg. The Amherst County Sheriff’s Office said seven students in total “experienced a reaction to ingesting gummy bears at school.” Of course those that are pushing legal drugs are often more demonic than those that are pushing illegal drugs. Pfizer is one of the most demonic corporations on the entire planet, but fortunately they have started to fall on hard times… Pfizer’s shares are plunging downwards to their worst performance in over a decade after the pharmaceutical giant put out a stark warning about its projected revenue as hysteria over the Covid-19 outbreak continues to wane. Recent financial results and projections alike have not fared well for Pfizer; shares dropped 8 percent on Thursday morning, and the company has lost $140 billion in market cap this year alone. I could list a whole bunch more examples, but I think that you get the point. From the very top to the very bottom, our entire society has become saturated with evil. So why can’t we just stop what we are doing and start focusing on things that are good and righteous? Oh no, the elite certainly don’t want us to do that. Recently, Dr. Anthony Fauci was asked why he doesn’t go to church anymore, and he responded by saying that his “personal ethics” are “enough to keep me going on the right path”… During an interview with BBC News, Fauci pointed out Dahlgren Chapel of the Sacred Heart, where he and his wife were married in 1985. That gave rise to the question of whether he still attends church. “No, I don’t,” he said, which natural led to the follow-up question from interviewer Katy Kay: “Why?” “A number of complicated reasons,” he said, but Kay wasn’t satisfied with that, and encouraged him to go on. “First of all, I think my own personal ethics on life are, I think, enough to keep me going on the right path,” he said, adding that the “organizational church” had “enough negative aspects,” though he didn’t clarify what “enough” meant in that context. Really? Does he define performing sadistic experiments on dogs as being “on the right path”? In our time, an unspeakably evil doctor like Fauci is greatly honored and celebrated. We live in an upside down world where good is bad and bad is good. And those in power just want to keep us pacified with entertainment so that they can continue to “transform” our society. Some have suggested that it looks like something out of the Hunger Games movies… Right-wing blogger Ian Miles Cheong said that Dr. Biden’s 2023 efforts were gave off a ‘Hunger games aesthetic.’ Anti-vax activist Alex Rosen chimed in saying: ‘The second hand embarrassment is off the charts.’ ‘This should’ve come with a sensitivity label. This is horrendous,’ wrote the infamous Libs of TikTok account. ‘ABSOLUTE GARBAGE,’ was another person’s opinion. ‘It’s a mentally ill Christmas at the Biden White House,’ comedian Tim Young tweeted. ‘You are so strange. Bizarre. Freaky,’ said another person. Conservative activist Brigitte Gabriel said: ‘Children should not be watching this smut.’ Our culture is going downhill very rapidly now. If we stay on this path, there is no future for our country. Unfortunately, the clock is ticking and right now there are no indications that we will see a national turnaround any time soon. If you read the Biblical prophets, they indicate that things will not get better prior to the return of Christ. There are difficult times ahead, raising many questions. How do we handle it? Do we go with what the world says? Or do we go with what God says? How do we know that God is talking to us? Difficult situations can cause us to react emotionally or respond spiritually with wisdom and discernment. Shutting out the noise of the world and listening to that still small voice. Discerning what you hear—God will not go against his word. Checking his word is a good path to take. Remember that God works all things to the good for those who love him. Recall Joseph, son of Jacob, sold into slavery and ending up in Egyptian prison because of false accusations. After two years, the Pharaoh had a perplexing dream and Joseph was called up to interpret. Joseph rightly interprets the dream to be God’s warning of a coming famine in seven years. There would be seven years of plenty and seven years of famine. The repetition of the second dream meant that the matter was fixed, and God would shortly bring it about. Joseph then advises Pharaoh on what to do, and Pharaoh puts Joseph in charge of everything— his household, and all of his people. He said in Genesis 41:38, “Can we find anyone like him? The Spirit of God lives in him!” Joseph became second in power, only to Pharaoh, and was given an Egyptian name, Tzafnat-Pa’neach (discerner of secrets), and an Egyptian wife, Osnat the daughter of a pagan priest. Joseph went throughout the land preparing for the famine by collecting extra grain during the seven years of plenty. When the famine came, Joseph’s father Jacob heard there was grain in Egypt and he was very decisive. He said in Genesis 42:2, “I have heard that there is grain in Egypt. Go down there and buy some for us, so that we may live and not die.” Long story short, these actions resulted in reunion and reconciliation among Joseph and his family as well as saving countless lives from starvation. There are many more incredible outcomes from this reunion and types and shadows of the coming Christ and his salvation plan. Herein, we can learn from Pharaoh, Joseph and Jacob. God spoke to Pharaoh through a dream. Joseph, who had the Spirit of God living in him, interpreted the dream. Then Joseph was led by God to wisely prepare for the famine. Jacob decisively sent his sons to Egypt to buy grain. These events were not happenstance. Joseph and Jacob shut out the difficulty and emotions of their situations and focused on what the Spirit was telling them. Then they acted with wisdom. As we look at our challenges today and the constant noise around us, how are we to hear from God? First, we must be in relationship with Christ. Then we need to fellowship with him and listen. Making sure what we hear is from God, we check our thoughts with the Bible. Then we take action. That action may be the opposite direction from the world, but faith will prove true. For instance, the hottest gift of 1975 was the Sony Betamax. It recorded television programs and came with a whopping price tag of $2,300. Another popular, less-expensive gift from the same year was the mood ring. It changed colors according to whatever mood you were in. And believe it or not, it was one of the hottest gifts of that time. Also hitting the market in 1975 was the pet rock, which simply was a rock in a box. But it was one of the biggest gifts of the year, and 1.3 million of them were sold. For Christmas in 1983, people stood in line for hours for the Cabbage Patch Kids doll. They were almost impossible to get. The Bible tells us about gifts that mysterious messengers from the East brought to Jesus. They were called Magi, and in keeping with their office, they were schooled in astrology, astronomy, and mathematics. Although the Magi brought three gifts—gold, frankincense, and myrrh—the Bible doesn’t say there were three wise men. And calling them the kings of the East isn’t accurate, either, as they were more like kingmakers, those who would influence the king. They made the journey from the East and arrived in Jerusalem. There they had an audience with King Herod, and they inquired about this King of the Jews. And then they made their way to Bethlehem, following the star and looking for a newborn King. They understood what their objective was. They realized what was more important than anything else—that it was a time for worship. And God invaded their world. There is only one God who is worthy of our worship, and that is the Lord Jesus Christ whom we celebrate at Christmas. Whatever world you live in, whatever lifestyle you have chosen, and whatever belief system you have, Jesus Christ can invade it. The Magi, or so-called wise men, were into astrology. They looked to the stars to chart their course and guide them into the future. So, God came to them in a way that they could understand: through a star that guided them out of the darkness and into the light. They made their way to where the child Jesus was, and they brought their gifts to Him. This serves as a reminder that wherever we are and whomever we know, no one is beyond the reach of God. Maybe you have children that you’ve raised in the way of the Lord, but they’ve grown up and have gone astray. Maybe you won’t even see them this Christmas. Or maybe you will, but you know there will be tension. You wonder how and when God will ever get hold of them. But know this: God always has His people in every place to reach the lost, no matter their background or what they believe. God reached the Magi and brought them to faith. And He can reach your family, your children, and your friends as well.
