The ark of the covenant was kept In the inner sanctum of the Most Holy Place in the tabernacle and the first temple. There was a heavy veil or curtain that separated the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place. The mercy seat was the golden lid that covered the ark. It had two golden cherubim figures on each end that faced one another. “You shall put the mercy seat on top of the ark, and in the ark you shall put the Testimony that I will give you. And there I will meet with you, and I will speak with you from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim which are on the ark of the Testimony, about everything which I will give you in commandment to the children of Israel” (Exodus 25:21-22).
 
The mercy seat in the tabernacle was where God, in His Shekinah Glory, would speak to Moses or Aaron. “And you shall put it before the veil that is before the ark of the Testimony, before the mercy seat that is over the Testimony, where I will meet with you”(Exodus 30:6). “Now when Moses went into the tabernacle of meeting to speak with Him, he heard the voice of One speaking to him from above the mercy seat that was on the ark of the Testimony, from between the two cherubim; thus He spoke to him” (Leviticus 16:2).
 
The Shekinah Glory of God was always concealed within a cloud when He appeared to the children of Israel. Then the cloud covered the tabernacle of meeting, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. And Moses was not able to enter the tabernacle of meeting, because the cloud rested above it, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle. Whenever the cloud was taken up from above the tabernacle, the children of Israel would go onward in all their journeys. But if the cloud was not taken up, then they did not journey till the day that it was taken up. For the cloud of the Lord was above the tabernacle by day, and fire was over it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys” (Exodus 40:34-38).
 
The “ark” and all the furnishings that were in the tabernacle, and later in the temple, were patterned after the Most Holy Place in heaven. “As Moses was divinely instructed when he was about to make the tabernacle. For He said, See that you make all things according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.” It is thought by most theologians that God is surrounded by cherubim in heaven. The mercy seat represents God’s throne in heaven, where He judges mankind.
 
After the tabernacle had been set up, anointed, and consecrated, the leaders of the 12 tribes of Israel brought an offering for the dedication of the altar. At the end of the offerings, “Moses went into the tabernacle of meeting to speak with the LORD. He heard the voice of One speaking to him from above the mercy seat that was on the ark of the Testimony, from between the two cherubim; thus He spoke to him” (Numbers 7:89).In 1 Samuel 4:4 and other places, God is described as being enthroned between the cherubim over the ark. Whenever the glory (shekinah) of the Lord filled the tabernacle or the first temple, you can be assured the Lord was above the mercy seat of the ark of the covenant in the Most Holy place.
 
While in the wilderness, God gave the children of Israel three things that separated them from other nations: the Law, the Levitical system of sacrifice and worship of Yahweh, and His heavenly provision and sustenance in the form of manna. The ark contained three objects that God had given them to signify they were indeed His chosen people (Hebrews 9:4). However, these objects also represented the Hebrew’s rebellion against God. This rebellion was against His word, authority, and law, including the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd commandments (by making the golden calf) and the 5th commandment (not keeping the Sabbath).    
 
Each item represents a particular type of sin committed against God. The first item was the two tablets of stone on which God had written the 10 commandments. Ironically, the children of Israel violated the first commandment, “you shall have no other gods before me,” before God actually wrote the 10 commandments on the two tablets of stone. This occurred when Moses went up the mountain to speak with God and the Hebrews pressured Aaron to make them a golden calf idol (Exodus 32). Throughout the ages, Israel proved they were totally incapable of obeying the Lord’s laws.
 
The second item in the ark was the budded rod of Aaron. This occurred after the rebellion of Korah and about 250 men who rose up and challenged the authority of Moses and Aaron, especially in spiritual matters between the LORD and the children of Israel. After the earth had swallowed Korah and his household and fire devoured the other rebels, Moses gathered 12 rods from the leaders of each tribe and placed them in the tabernacle of meeting in front of the Testimony (mercy seat of the ark) where God met with Moses. The Lord told Moses, “And it shall be that the rod of the man whom I choose will blossom; thus I will rid Myself of the complaints of the children of Israel, which they make against you” (Numbers 17:5).
 
The next day Moses went into the tabernacle and sure enough, there was Aaron’s rod which had put forth buds, produced blossoms, and yielded ripe almonds. “And the Lord said to Moses, Bring Aaron’s rod back before the Testimony, to be kept as a sign against the rebels, that you may put their complaints away from Me, lest they die”(Numbers 17:10).
 
The third item that was kept in the ark was a golden bowl of manna. Manna was a supernatural bread from heaven that God had rained down on the children of Israel when they were in the wilderness. This occurred after the Hebrews had complained to Moses and Aaron (and ultimately God) that they didn’t have meat and bread to eat like they did in the “good old days” in Egypt. The Lord commanded Moses and the people to only gather the manna for six days and not on the Sabbath. The first time the word “Sabbath” Is mentioned is in Exodus 16:23, referring to not working on the seventh day by gathering manna. One was not to work when gathering the bread from heaven.
 
But once again the children of Israel did not obey the Lord. “Now it happened that some of the people went out on the seventh day to gather, but they found none. And the Lord said to Moses, “How long do you refuse to keep My commandments and My laws? See! For the Lord has given you the Sabbath; therefore He gives you on the sixth-day bread for two days. Let every man remain in his place; let no man go out of his place on the seventh day.” So the people rested on the seventh day” (Leviticus 16:27-30).
 
These God-given objects were all kept in the ark of the covenant with the mercy seat covering on the top. When God dwelt in the tabernacle (and later the first temple), He resided or appeared in the cloud (Shekinah Glory) above the mercy seat. On the annual Day of Atonement, Aaron or the High Priest at the time would bring the bull of the sin offering, which was for himself, and make atonement for himself and for his house. “Then he shall take a censer full of burning coals of fire from the altar before the Lord, with his hands full of sweet incense beaten fine, and bring it inside the veil. And he shall put the incense on the fire before the Lord, that the cloud of incense may cover the mercy seat that is on the Testimony, lest he die. He shall take some of the blood of the bull and sprinkle it with his finger on the mercy seat on the east side; and before the mercy seat he shall sprinkle some of the blood with his finger seven times” (Leviticus 16:12-14).
 
Once Aaron (and later his lineage) was appointed High Priest, the LORD gave Moses the instructions for the Day of Atonement, which was to be an annual event. On this day, Aaron would offer blood sacrifices for himself and the children of Israel. Here is what happened on that first day of Atonement: “Then Aaron lifted his hand toward the people, blessed them, and came down from offering the sin offering, the burnt offering, and peace offerings. And Moses and Aaron went into the tabernacle of meeting, and came out and blessed the people. Then the glory of the Lord appeared to all the people, and fire came out from before the Lord and consumed the burnt offering and the fat on the altar. When all the people saw it, they shouted and fell on their faces” (Leviticus 9:22-24).
 
Of course, the Levitical High Priest performing his duties on the annual Day of Atonement is a typology of the High Priest in heaven (not of the Levites but of the order of Melchizedek), Jesus Christ, making intercession before God for the sins of the “saints” on earth. The “cloud” of smokey incense represents the cloud of God which accompanies His Shekinah Glory. Sprinkling the blood on and around the mercy seat “seven times” represents Jesus’ holy blood, as seven represents spiritual perfection and completeness. This is, however, where the typology ends. Jesus does not need to offer His blood on the mercy seat in heaven. It is “by” His blood as the sacrificial Lamb of God, which was offered only one time on the cross, that sins are forgiven. The rituals of the Day of Atonement do not need to be repeated every year in heaven. Atonement was achieved at the cross.
 
So, what’s in the ark of the covenant in heaven? I believe it is empty, except for one thing…Grace. God’s grace is granted to those who have faith. But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for “the just shall live by faith” (Galatians 3:11). The old covenant of the Law, represented by the objects in the ark on earth, have been replaced by the new covenant of grace. The 10 Commandments written on the two tablets of stone have been replaced by the new covenant of Jesus Christ. The budding rod of Aaron, which represents the Levitical priesthood has been replaced by the order of Melchizedek’s priesthood, namely Jesus the Christ. The bowl of manna has been replaced by the true bread from heaven, Jesus Christ. He will supply all our needs.
 
The High Priest, Jesus, does not need to place any blood on the mercy seat, for the blood of atonement has already been shed on the cross, once and for all. Our sins, past, present, and future are not only “covered up,” they are forgiven and forgotten forever. “For as the heavens are high above the earth,So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him; As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us. As a father pities his children, So the LORD pities those who fear Him” (Psalm 103:11-13).
 
“Therefore it is of faith that it might be according to grace, so that the promise might be sure to all the seed, not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all (as it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations”) in the presence of Him whom he believed—God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did; who, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken, So shall your descendants be” (Romans 4:16-18).

Dr. Mordechai Kedar is a senior lecturer at Bar-Ilan University and the vice president of NEWSRAEL. He served for 25 years in the IDF military intelligence specializing in Syria, Arab political discourse, Arab mass media, Islamic groups, and Israeli Arabs. He is an expert on the Muslim Brotherhood and other Islamist groups. He is fluent in Hebrew, Arabic, and English and has debated Muslims on Arab media in Arabic.
 
On Sunday, Dr. Kedar published an op-ed on the Hebrew-language Makor Rishon describing a shocking security situation developing in the region that represents a dire threat to Israel. Dr. Kedar began with a disclaimer:
 
"A note to my readers," he wrote. "I hesitated quite a bit, debating whether to publish the things that appear below because of the panic they might cause in Israel. However, in the Middle East environment, particularly in Iraq, these things are known and serve as a topic of open discussion among quite a few, so it is impossible for the public in Israel not to be aware of them as well. Especially because these things concern Israel; its security and existence, much more than they concern the citizens of Iraq. These things come up occasionally in the Israeli media, so I decided to bring them up here."
 
"A source I have known for years - an expatriate from the Middle East, a supporter of Israel, who lives in Europe and is in continuous contact with people in Iran and Iraq - conveyed to me his assessment that Iran is planning to launch a combined attack on Israel in the foreseeable future that will include all the forces at its disposal in the Arab countries."
 
Dr. Kedar then detailed what these available Iranianian assets were in the region:
 
"In Lebanon, Hezbollah and Hamas have many thousands of missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), some of them with precision guidance systems," Dr. Kedar wrote. "In Syria - 17 combat units ("militias") stand armed and ready: Liwa Fatemiyoun, the Zainebiyoun Brigade, the Harakat al-Nujaba, Hezbollah, the Abu Al-Fachal Brigade, Atsa'ab Ahl Al Haq, the Khorsani Brigade, and others. Iran transferred a very large number of missiles and UAVs to Syria and these are ready to be launched."
 
Dr. Kedar's prediction seems to be already materializing. On Thursday afternoon, 34 rockets were fired at northern Israel from Lebanon. Lantern in the evening several mortar shells impacted near the northern town of Metula. The IDF blamed Hamas forces in Lebanon for the attack but Israeli official sources said it would not have been carried out without Hezbollah's consent. Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh is currently in Lebanon.
 
On Saturday night, six projectiles were launched at Israel from Syrian territory
 
"In Iraq, dozens of militias are armed with missiles and UAVs," Dr. Kedar warned.
 
The US currently has about 2,500 troops in Iraq which have frequently come under rocket attack by Iranian-backed militia.
 
"In Yemen - the Houthis have missiles and long-range UAVs that reach Israel," Dr. Kedar continued.
 
Houthi drones have been used to devastating effect against Saudi Arabian targets.
 
"In Gaza, Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad have missiles capable of disabling the Israel Defense Forces and Air Force bases," Dr. Kedar wrote. "It is likely that Iran will not send anything from its territory to Israel in order not to expose itself to retaliation."
 
Dr. Kedar understood these facts in the current context of increasing tensions focused on the Temple Mount.
 
"Under the pretext of the duty of the Muslim world to save Al-Aqsa Mosque from Israeli occupation and oppression (such as happened 4 days ago when Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan told his Iranian counterpart Ebrahim Raisi over the phone that the Islamic world should be united against Israel's oppression of Al-Aqsa), Iran will conduct a staged, comprehensive, integrated, and coordinated attack on Israel," Dr. Kedar wrote. "The first phase will be an aerial attack including a massive coordinated barrage of missiles and UAVs from all the aforementioned arenas."
 
Dr. Kedar explained that the Iranian strategy is that the stock of interceptors for the "Iron Dome" will run out within two to three hours of the beginning of the air attack, after which the Israeli skies will be open to further assault. The next phase will focus on the air force which will be damaged and grounded."
 
"The initial aerial phase will be accompanied by a cyber attack on Israeli infrastructure systems," Dr. Kedar wrote. "After a full day of a cyber attack, and a rain of missiles and UAVs that will hit air force bases, navy bases, army bases, electricity, computing, communication, road, and water infrastructures, the second phase will begin a coordinated ground attack from Lebanon, Syria, and Gaza by infantry. Forces mounted on conventional military vehicles as well as dirt bikes and ATVs equipped with anti-tank weapons they will cross the border and attack the Israeli ground forces in order to reach Jewish settlements as quickly as possible."
 
"The strategy of the Iranians is that the mobilization of the reserves will take several days," Dr. Kedar suggested. "They may even be counting on the call-up of the reserves to initially be only partially implemented because of the chaos that will be generated throughout the country due to the attacks; cyber and military. IDF reinforcements will not arrive in time to the various fronts and therefore the regular forces will collapse within hours in the face of the ground attack, just as happened in the Bar Lev Line and the Golan during the 1973 Yom Kippur War."
 
"The invasion of ground forces from Syria, Lebanon, and Gaza will focus on Israeli settlements with the aim of demoralizing the Israeli public and forcing the government to surrender in order to save the lives of the many Israelis who will be captured by the Arab and Iranian militias. The Israeli media and especially the social media groups will increase the panic among the Israeli public."
 
"It is not clear what role the Iranians ascribe to the Palestinians in the war," Dr. Kedar writes. "However, it is likely that Hamas, the Palestinian Authority, and the Islamic Jihad will push them to do everything in their power to harm Israelis, the army, the police, and civilians moving on the roads, in addition to attacks on settlements and military bases." Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah met with Hamas leaders on Friday in Beirut which many speculate was to co-ordinate any future conflict with Israel.
 
"Also, the Iranians expect Arabs in Galilee and the Negev to carry out actions against the IDF and the state such as blocking roads, damaging bridges, spilling oil on roads, blocking intersections, damaging high-voltage lines, and attacking Jewish settlements. Because the National Guard is not yet operational, these operations will cause great damage to Israel and its ability to withstand the ground assault. Such an operation will require a minimal price for those carrying out these operations."

The rule of law in the US is in a state of rapid disintegration. In many cities, the police don’t even bother to arrest certain criminals because leftist district attorneys will quickly let them go. Many people don’t serve jail time because they simply refuse to return to court to receive their sentence.
 
A California man was recently arrested 10 times in 31 days. They had him pose for 10 different mugshots. Since he only aged for less than a month, they should have film by just using the first one.
 
Keith Chastain’s first arrest was on Feb. 19, and his tenth was on March 21. He was booked by Clovis police six times and other agencies four times.
 
Chastain, 38, faces 18 felonies and 15 misdemeanors. Charges include six stolen vehicles, vandalism, DUI, possession of a controlled substance, fraud, and more, according to authorities.
 
One reason why we should put people in jail is so they cannot commit crimes against innocent people. I would be furious if I learned that someone who had stolen and wrecked my car had been released from jail nine times. After the third time he got arrested, they should have kept him in jail to save the bother of booking him again.
 
Even federal prisons have a revolving door for criminals. When disgraced attorney Michael Avenatti suffered two back-to-back convictions for fraud and extortion, I thought he would spend the rest of his life in prison. A few months after going to prison, he was let out because of Covid-19. He was living it up at a friend’s house.
 
In Dec., Avenatti was convicted a third time for embezzling millions of dollars from four of his clients and given another 15 years, which adds up to 25 years. The way the system works, he could be free in eight years. If Avenatti is a good boy, a judge will likely cut 10 years off his sentence. A parole board could let him go at any point.
 
The indictment of Donald Trump over hush money payments he made to Stormy Daniels, by Manhattan District Attorney (DA) Alvin Bragg, is a massive miscarriage of justice. The payment, at best, was a misdemeanor, and it was out of Bragg’s authority. With the backing of public opinion, a DA could indict a ham sandwich.
 
While Bragg is busy going after Trump, the City of New York is being overrun by criminals. It was support from George Soros-type organizations that allowed him to become DA. He has decreased criminal cases by 40% and has sided with the criminals over their victims.
 
A newsstand operator was being attacked by a deranged man. He stabbed the attacker and killed him. Bragg sent the guy straight to Rikers Island. Parking lot attendant Moussa Diarra saw a man looking into various cars to see what he could steal. Diarra told him to leave, and the thief pulled out a gun and shot the attendant in the face and chest. Diarra managed to grab the gun and shoot this dirtbag. The poor attendant woke up in the hospital handcuffed to his bed, and the crook was out on the street doing the exact same thing at a new location. Bragg dropped the charges in both cases after massive public protests.
 
America has tried to solve its crime problem by locking people up. At 3% of the population, we have more people in prison than any other nation. It is extremely expensive to house convicts. The shortage of beds creates a natural drive to come up with any excuse to let a convict go. Here in Arkansas, we have a 5,000-bed shortage. The new governor is planning on spending $500 million on new prisons.
 
Our former governor Michael Huckabee granted clemency to Maurice Clemmons. His criminal history includes at least five felony convictions in Arkansas and another eight felony charges in Washington state. He was released from police custody after posting bail for a pending charge of second-degree rape of a child. At one point, Clemmons was ordered to serve consecutive sentences totaling 108 years. Clemmons had applied for clemency after serving 10 years of his sentence.
 
It was only a week after his release that Clemmons killed four police officers. He just walked up to them in a coffee shop and shot them in the head. Two days later, Benjamin Kelly, a lone Seattle police officer, confronted Clemmons on a Seattle residential street, and when Clemmons attempted to pull a gun, Kelly shot him dead. The last I checked, death did not have a parole or clemency option, so Clemmons’ luck may have finally run out.
 
We cannot fix our justice system without addressing the moral problem in America. In the 1950’s we would have a mass shooting event once a decade. Today, they occur every few days. The most wonderful thing about the rapture is meeting Jesus. Leaving this corrupt world behind has to be the second-best thing about the blessed hope.
 
“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words” (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18).

Frank could not believe his eyes. The scene was like something out of a movie. He had decided to go into the office extra early to get a jump on his day. It was 6:15 AM and the streets of downtown Cincinnati were still largely empty. The sun was just beginning to peek through the high-rise buildings and make its way down to street level. That’s when he saw it.
 
As he made a right-hand turn down Plum Street, he witnessed two men in ski masks jump out of a car in front of a Chase Bank branch and smash through the lobby’s plate glass window. They were robbing the bank! He instinctively hit his breaks, coming to a stop several hundred feet in front of the bank. He wanted to be certain he remained out of harm’s way. Then he quickly called 9-1-1 from his cell phone.
 
“I think I am witnessing a bank robbery!” he exclaimed to the operator. Frank gave the woman on the other end of the phone all the details, trying to remain calm as he answered her questions. She thanked him and said she was sending the police. Frank sat back and watched, expecting to hear sirens from approaching police cars any moment. He heard nothing.
 
As the seconds stretched into minutes, his mind raced. “Did the 9-1-1 operator have the correct address?” he wondered. “Where are the police? These robbers are going to get away!” He was just about to redial 9-1-1 when the bandits came rushing out of the bank, carrying what Frank presumed was their loot. They jumped in their car and sped off around the corner out of sight.
 
Frank waited around for the police to arrive, figuring he could provide some important eyewitness details. It was another ten minutes before the first squad car arrived. When he approached the two officers, and explained what he had seen, they seemed disinterested. Perturbed, Frank said, “Shouldn’t you be writing this down? I mean, don’t you want to catch these criminals?” One of the officers responded coolly, “Oh, we’ve already caught them. The FBI had been staking out this bank overnight based on a tip. We were ready for them. The moment their car sped away we surrounded them two blocks away. They are in custody.”
 
Frank felt a little embarrassed that he had been so anxious about a situation that the authorities clearly had well under control the whole time. As he witnessed the bank robbery in progress, he had no idea that members of an FBI surveillance team were watching things unfold from a fourth story office window across the street. There were other agents positioned at strategic vantage points up and down the block.
 
As we observe the world unraveling in these great last days of deception, it may appear as though Satan’s earthly accomplices are getting away with unchecked evil. We watch as Luciferians like Klaus Schwab, Yuval Noah Harari, George Soros, and others unfurl their wicked schemes, rapidly advancing their one-world agenda. We may wonder, is anyone else watching? Doesn’t anyone else see what is happening?
 
While it may seem like we are the only ones who notice these barefaced criminals, God’s Word reminds us that He sees them too. “The eyes of the Lord are in every place, beholding the evil and the good” (Proverbs 15:3). When it comes to evildoers, God promises, “For mine eyes are upon all their ways: they are not hid from my face, neither is their iniquity hid from mine eyes” (Jeremiah 16:17).
 
The Bible says, “For his eyes are upon the ways of man, and he seeth all his goings. There is no darkness, nor shadow of death, where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves” (Job 34:21–22). And “For the ways of man are before the eyes of the Lord, and he pondereth all his goings” (Proverbs 5:21).
 
If you find yourself wondering, incredulously, why doesn’t God intervene?! Why doesn’t He do something about all this malevolent activity?! Just remember, God has the entire situation under His control. He sees them too. And He laughs at their vain attempts to overthrow His sovereignty. “He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion.” (Psalm 2:4–6).
 
God is calmly waiting and watching for the right time. Just when these Luciferians think they are in the clear, He will swoop in and destroy them. Right now, Jesus, God’s eternal Son and our Savior, is sitting at God’s right hand, waiting to come back, and put all things under His subjection. But one day, when the time is right, He will return. “The Lord at thy right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath. He shall judge among the heathen, he shall fill the places with the dead bodies; he shall wound the heads over many countries.” (Psalm 110:5–6).
 
As we await the Lord’s return, first for His Church at the Rapture, and then with His Church at the Second Coming to inaugurate the long-awaited Kingdom on earth, we can take comfort in knowing “neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do” (Hebrews 4:13).
 
We must boldly stand for truth in the face of growing tyranny and remind Satan’s earthly co-conspirators, “We see you, and we know what you are doing!” More importantly, God sees them too!

Many leading media outlets have written stories suggesting that democracies routinely prosecute their heads of state and this is good for the democracy, they say. These stories are no less an attempt to shape America’s public opinion that prosecuting President Trump is good for the country. America is a Constitutional Republic where the rule of law takes precedent over majority opinion. True democracy is majority rule, not necessarily ruled by laws. The law in the Republic is not supposed to be politically twisted or weaponized against anyone. We are equal under the law. Trump’s political opponents have raised false accusations and charges against him since his political journey began. None have stuck.
 
Writers for The Washington Post, Newsweek, New York Times and Axios all say that America behaving like banana republics is a good thing. Of course, they all work for leftist publications. They list out how the leaders of France, South Korea, Italy, Pakistan, Argentina, Brazil, Malaysia, Peru, South Africa, Taiwan, Japan, and, yes Israel have all been prosecuted and many convicted of criminal charges. Axios writes: “The big picture: In reality, leaders who left office since 2000 have been jailed or prosecuted in at least 78 countries–including in democracies like France, Israel and South Korea. Since 1980, around half of the world’s countries have had at least one such case, and that’s not counting impeachments or coups.” Not counting impeachments or coups? Coups are the meat and potatoes of tyranny.
 
In its study of world leader prosecutions, Axios stated, “For obvious reasons, the countries that are least likely to be filled in on our map are monarchies or dictatorships where leaders are long-serving and untouchable.” Those “obvious reasons” for not including untouchable monarchs or dictators are that it would undermine the authors’ premise that such “prosecutions” are good for democracies. China is a “democracy.” So is Russia and Cuba, for example. In those one-party, one-ballot type of countries political opposition is eliminated, often by execution, sometimes with show trials designed to rile public opinion against the leader on twisted interpretations of their so-called “laws.” Starting to sound familiar?
 
Trump said that America was behaving like a third world country. Conservative and liberal commentators alike say the indictment is on shaky legal ground. Many believe that this prosecution is a tremendous form of politically-motivated election interference. And the news media is in an all-out effort to convince the American people that this sort of political assassination is a good thing because it happens all the time in other “democracies.” It will be a good thing until it becomes like Russia where the leader just has the journalists killed when they don’t agree with him. Always remember there is a double edge to the sword of tyranny. Meantime, as in 2 Timothy 3:13, “But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.” Unfortunately, many are in the media and it’s, say it with me…Stupidocrisy.

God is omnipotent. God is omniscient. And God is omnipresent.
 
On the other hand, Satan is none of those things. Although he is a spirit being and has demons doing his dirty work, he is far from God’s equal. He has clear limits on his power.
 
God, however, can do anything that He wants to do, anywhere, and at any time. While God is omniscient, Satan doesn’t know all things. His knowledge, though vast, is still limited. In addition, he can only be in one place at one time.
 
Meanwhile, God can be present everywhere at the same time.
 
Satan is not the equal of God. And he wants to stop us from doing what God wants us to do.
 
The apostle Paul wrote, “For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places” (Ephesians 6:12 NLT).
 
We are in a spiritual battle against the devil and his demons, who seek to hinder God’s purposes and extend Satan’s power.
 
When the enemy is attacking, it should cause us to turn to the protective care of Jesus and cling to Him all the tighter, like a small child who clings to a parent when danger is near.
 
We must realize that in our own strength, we are no match for the devil. He is far more powerful than we are. That’s why we need to turn to God for help and strengthen ourselves in Him.
 
Satan recognizes that our power base is in our relationship with God. Thus, he will do everything he can to separate us from the Lord. The only thing the devil fears is the power of the risen Lord Jesus Christ. That’s why we must stand in God’s strength and not our own.
