On July 27, 2022, the Federal Reserve increased interest rates even though some financial experts believe the higher rates will cause a decline in home sales, a decline in home values, an increase in the number of people that can’t pay their mortgage, and an increase in unemployment. I am not a financial expert or a prophet, but it is my opinion that wrecking the housing industry might slow the economy and reduce inflation if the U.S. government reduced its spending and restored America’s energy independence, but that is not going to happen. Hence, it is my opinion that higher food prices, higher energy prices, and the march toward hyper-inflation and a global economic collapse will continue. Raising interest rates will slow the construction industry, force people out of work, force people into older and smaller houses, force the use of less energy, etc., but the current government’s endgame is still a weaker, greener America under a tyrannical New World Order. (FYI: The same people that denied that inflation was soaring are now denying that America is in a recession.) (Good theology: On Aug. 1, 2022, I told a group of Baptist preachers that God will cause the Ten Kings to surrender their power and authority to the Antichrist to fulfill His Word (Rev. 17:12-17). One preacher said that is why God will Rapture the Church before the Tribulation Period. He said the Church is indwelt by the Holy Spirit, is salt and light, and is restraining the Antichrist and his world government (II Thess. 2:6-15). God will remove His Church so the Antichrist can rise to power and fulfill His Word.) Here are more prophecy-related stories that recently made the news: One, concerning America’s decline: the underlying problem is America’s abandonment of God. A recent Gallop poll found that less than 20% of America’s citizens still believe that the Bible is the literal Word of God. Electing leaders that oppose Biblical values has negatively impacted the beliefs and morals of America. Without God’s guidance, the decisions of those leaders are faulty, and the consequences are not good. Two, concerning the corruption of the U.S. Dept. of Justice (DOJ) and the FBI: perhaps the greatest proof is their protection of Hillary Clinton and Hunter Biden versus their investigation and possible pending prosecution of Pres. Trump. They lied to the courts, helped Hillary destroy evidence, said the “Laptop from Hell” was disinformation, and helped cover up the “big guy’s” (Pres. Biden’s) share of the profits from Hunter’s crimes in Ukraine and China, but they are leaving no stone unturned in their effort to stop Trump. Many of our leaders, many in the DOJ, and many in the FBI seem to be part of a corrupt government, and God may cause them to submit to the most corrupt government in all history (Satan’s Antichrist, his Ten wicked Kings, and the False Prophet). They don’t seem to realize that their takedown of America could mean their self-destruction and they could be among the generation of godless leaders that will desire to hide in the dens and rocks of the mountains during the great day of the Lamb’s wrath (Rev. 6:15-17). Three, concerning tribulation (as in hard times, hungry, cold, etc.): Russia recently shut down the Nord Stream 1 gas pipeline to Germany for repairs. Russia restarted it but has announced plans to cut the gas flow to 20% of capacity. If that rate is not upped before winter, many factories will close, many houses will be without heat, and many women and children will get sick and die. Four, concerning food shortages and famine: on July 27, 2022, BASF, one of the largest producers of fertilizer in the world, announced that it will drastically cut its production of ammonia (fertilizer), and farmers can expect the price to soar in 2023. Insufficient fertilizer and higher fertilizer prices will result in less food production, more food shortages (possibly famine), and higher food prices. It has been reported that governments are pressuring companies to reduce their production of fertilizer because government officials want to meet Agenda 2030 Sustainable Development (climate change) goals. Five, concerning the Mark of the Beast: no one should doubt that the Antichrist and False Prophet will kill multitudes of people during the Tribulation Period for refusing to take the Mark. Reports that globalists want to reduce the population of the earth are common. Consider this:
Six, concerning the Mark of the Beast: during the Tribulation Period, people will not be allowed to buy and sell unless they take the Mark. On July 30, 2022, it was reported that the Biden administration is halting school lunch funding in schools that do not let biological boys use the girl’s bathrooms and showers and do not let biological girls use the boy’s bathrooms and showers if they self-identify as the opposite sex. Our government is withholding food from children in low-income families to force the LGBTQ agenda on schools. It is forcing school systems to choose between food for hungry children and immoral, unbiblical practices. 22 states have filed a lawsuit to stop this. Seven, concerning the Mark of the Beast: Israel is moving closer to a cashless society. On Aug. 1, 2022, a new law will go into effect in Israel that will require a digital transfer, a debit card, or something similar on business purchases exceeding the equivalent of $1,700. Cash transactions between private citizens will be illegal if the amount exceeds the equivalent of $4,360. Requiring cashless transactions in some cases is a big step in the direction of tracking buying and selling by the middle of the Tribulation Period. Eight, concerning world government and a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC): on July 30, 2022, Catherine Fitts, former Assistant Sec. of Housing under Pres. George H.W. Bush, said the CBDC is a global financial system, not a digital currency. According to Fitts, “Central bankers are trying to create a system where they are completely free of the laws of nation states and governments…. They are inserting sovereign immunity from all laws and literally trying to create a civilization under the law where they are free to do whatever they want, including, as we know it—genocide.” As I understand it, Fitts believes bankers are trying to create a system that will allow them to legally seize everyone’s money and property so that they own and control everything, and citizens own and control nothing. This sounds like a godless world government that controls everything and kills those that disobey (those that are not happy with owning nothing). Everyone on earth should oppose this system. Following the Rapture, those that obey the Antichrist and False Prophet by taking the Mark will become Hell-bound slaves (Rev. 14:9-10), and those that get saved and refuse to take the Mark will be persecuted and killed. The Bible even teaches that slavery will exist during the Tribulation Period (Rev. 18:11-13), but it is not likely that the slaves will be happy. Nine, concerning perilous times: on July 30, 2022, two Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corp (IRGC) Telegram channels posted a video saying Iran will turn New York into a hellish ruin if Israel or the U.S. attacks Iran. Finally, are you Rapture Ready? If you want to be rapture ready and go to heaven, you must be born again (John 3:3). God loves you, and if you have not done so, sincerely admit that you are a sinner; believe that Jesus is the virgin-born, sinless Son of God who died for the sins of the world, was buried, and raised from the dead; ask Him to forgive your sins, cleanse you, come into your heart and be your Saviour; then tell someone that you have done this. Just moments after his failed coup in heaven, he set his sights on earth, and he has been hard at work ever since, deceiving and devouring (Revelation 12:9; 1 Peter 5:8). His primary methodology is deception. He lies, tricks, and counterfeits in order to convince his victims that his way is better than God’s way. He “transforms himself into an angel of light,” and sadly, many fail to see through his disguise (2 Corinthians 11:14). His disguise can be quite convincing and persuasive (Ephesians 5:6; Colossians 2:4; 2 Thessalonians 2:3). Satan has many earthly co-conspirators working at his behest. Indeed, “many deceivers have gone out into the world.” (2 John 7) The Bible warns, “Evil men and imposters will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived” (2 Timothy 3:13). “The Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons” (1 Timothy 4:1). Satan’s ultimate aim, of course, is to blind people’s hearts to the Gospel (2 Corinthians 4:4). To do this, he counterfeits the gospel by convincing people that they can overcome the penalty of sin by doing good works, trying harder, being better. This is a lie. God’s Word says we can never be good enough to earn God’s forgiveness. We can only be saved from hell by receiving the free gift of eternal life by faith (Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5; Romans 4:4-5). Satan attempts to counterfeit almost everything that God created for good. Money, sex, pleasure, authority, and many other divinely ordained concepts are distorted, perverted, and twisted into something fleshly and evil. They may have an earthly, enticing glow, but they lack the substance that God intended, and under Satan’s direction they lead to great pain and sorrow. Satan is even trying to counterfeit life. In Genesis 6, we read how he sent some of his demons to cohabit with human women resulting in a non-human race of hybrid giants. As a result of this abhorrent action, God destroyed the earth with a global flood, saving only Noah and his righteous family. God imprisoned these demons who “left their proper domain” and “went after strange flesh,” and they are now “reserved in everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day” (Jude 6-7; 2 Peter 2:4). Today, Satan’s futile efforts to create life continue through the transhumanist agenda. In the future, during the seven-year tribulation following the Rapture, Satan’s counterfeiting campaign will reach unprecedented heights. The unholy trinity consisting of Satan, the Antichrist, and the False Prophet will impose complete tyrannical control over a one-world political, religious, and economic system, mimicking God’s sovereignty. The Antichrist, indwelt by Satan, “will oppose and exalt himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped,” declaring himself to be God (2 Thessalonians 2:4). God’s people of old were told to “not to forget God’s law” and to “keep His commandments” by “binding them around the neck” (Proverbs 3:1-3). They were instructed, “bind them as a sign on your hand,” and “as frontlets between your eyes” (Deuteronomy 6:8). The Israelites sought to fulfill this command literally with Scripture holders on their bodies (phylacteries) and on their door frames (mezuzahs). Similarly, in the future seven-year tribulation, people will be required to show their allegiance to Satan by taking a mark on their foreheads or hands (Revelation 13:16-18). As Satan’s counterfeits flood our world, how can we avoid being swept up in a tide of deception? God’s Word provides the answer. “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world” (1 John 4:1). We must be on guard at all times, comparing what we hear and see with the Truth of Scripture. Are you being deceived? Not all that glitters is gold. It may be a demonic deception masquerading as a beautiful light. Be on guard! But her recent visit to Taiwan made the great and ancient nation of China quiver in its boots. Chinese leaders blustered and shouted; demanded and threatened. They made a great show of their military might, sending warships and aircraft into the area around Taiwan. They blasted missiles over the island, their smoke trails filling the Taiwanese sky. It was not the reaction of a confident superpower, but of a nervous child trying to hide its impotence behind the bluster of shaking fists and threatening pronouncements. A spokesman for the Chinese Defense Ministry said, “The US-Taiwan collusion and provocation will only push Taiwan towards the abyss of disaster, bringing catastrophe to Taiwan compatriots.” Why would a visit from an American official “push Taiwan towards the abyss of disaster”? In recent years, many members of Congress have visited the island nation. It happens on a regular basis. She was not even the first Speaker of the House to visit. Newt Gingrich did it back in 1997, and it was no big deal. What happened this time? President Biden (like most of his presidential predecessors over the last fifty years) has bent over backwards to appease China. Much of corporate America stands firm with China, despite its abysmal record on human rights. Some of our biggest corporations are addicted to China’s cheap labor, and they have high hopes for China as the ultimate market for their goods. America’s poorly planned exit from Afghanistan and continuing capitulation to the Taliban have given the world a sense of American weakness and timidity. While standing with Ukraine since the Russian invasion, the US was hesitant to say or do anything that might offend Russia before the invasion. Over the last few years, China supported Russia, North Korea, and Iran in all their deadly misadventures, and felt no ill-effects from US foreign policy. This time Chinese leaders thought they had the right combination of American weakness and vacillation to show the world their newfound power. So, when someone leaked that the Speaker might drop by Taiwan on her Asian tour, China put on a big show of imperiousness. They really seemed to think that they could intimidate the United States. But their public bluster forced the Speaker’s hand. If they really cared about her visit, quiet diplomacy would have almost certainly prevented it. But when China acted as if it could dictate a new US policy regarding travel to Taiwan, she had to go. Meanwhile, the sound and fury of the Chinese response weakened their international position. China today is a troubled nation and, in this case, troubled means dangerous. China generates amazing amounts of money, but the people are still poor. Their government must use extreme technologies to keep them in line. Meanwhile, their economy remains highly vulnerable to global slowdown. Bible prophecy speaks of the “Kings of the East” sending a vast army toward Israel and Armageddon in the last days of the tribulation period. China will almost certainly lead this coalition. The Bible speaks of it as a world power in the end time, but not a dominate one. That means China is not on the verge of taking over the world. But it is dangerous. The enemies faced each and every hour of each and every day are prolific in dispensing their wickedness. We have looked at their perpetration of evil many times. We have no choice, because it never ends, and we are commissioned from on high to “watch” (Mark 13:37). This incessant raging against our sense of truth–of what is biblically righteous—evokes human anger, no matter the devotion to trying to be Christ-like in our attitude and comportment. Now, to get into this just a bit–and I don’t want to go too deeply into the weeds—I’ll just begin by telling, obliquely, a little about conversations I have occasionally with family members. I say “obliquely” because I don’t want them mad at me, so I won’t say who. The conversations sometimes are as early as 4 am. Yes, I’m an early riser, and sometimes, when family members happen to be around at that hour, we discuss things going on in culture, politics, religion, etc. The more adamant among the conversationalists are quite angry at the injustice, the tyranny, the wickedness taking place as we look at the things being reported. To be frank, they often cook up what they would like to see happen to those engaged in perpetrating the injustice, the tyranny, the wickedness. The punitive creativity is not something I would be comfortable relaying in this forum. My response to one or the other telling just how they would like this evil to be handled is that that isn’t the way a Christian should think. They say things like “I know, Pops, but it makes me so mad I can’t help it.” In response to the expressed actions, I say things like, “Do you think Jesus would react that way, even to this level of evil, were He here in the flesh today?” That usually brings down their heated temperaments, to some extent. They then might retort with something like, “Yes. But He’s God and I’m not.” At any rate, the whole matter, I believe, is a valuable exercise in evaluating ourselves in regard to our own dealing with this injustice, tyranny, and wickedness we as Christians endure each day. We all know about the outrageous acts, issues, and events that afflict us that challenge our temperaments. We’ve covered all of them so many times in these commentaries. Those who inflict these evil upon our lives, while we only want to live peaceably, are enemies. We can say this, because they are the tools of the archenemy of God, thus enemies of each of us within God’s family who are living on planet earth. Those who want to break into our lives and steal our tranquility, our peace, and even our children, not even to mention our welfare financially through unfair-to-absurd confiscatory taxation, can be compared to the “thief” in the following: “When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace: But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armour wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils” (Luke 11: 21–22). Jesus, although in the context of prophecy involving watching for the suddenness of the Rapture, further gave, through analogy, warning about being watchful for evil break-ins: “Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up” (Matthew 24:42–43). So, it is clear that the Bible instructs believers to be aware of enemies wanting to do us harm. We are told even to be armed in order to protect our households–defend ourselves against harm. But nowhere are we told to hate our enemies. On the contrary, we are told the following through a quite lengthy instruction for how to deal with our enemies. It comes from the Lord, Himself: “But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also. Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask them not again. And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise. For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same. And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again. But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil. Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again” (Luke 6: 27–38). Now I must admit that I find loving the enemies today who murder babies by the millions, who more and more draw this culture into the cesspool of pedophilia–a thing that has been prevalent in most every civilization at its end—all but impossible. But that doesn’t alter the truth that we are told by our Lord that this is what we should do. He showed that love Himself, we remember, while hanging on that cross on which He died for us. The martyr Stephen did so while being stoned, and the Lord stood from the right hand of God’s throne to applaud him. Apart from the love of Christ–of God the Father—ours would be fate much worse than the punitive actions sometimes concocted in those early-morning sessions to which I referred. I guess the answer to how to begin to appropriate such love–and we cannot do it apart from the Holy Spirit who indwells—might be found in my friend, the late Dr. Tim LaHaye’s, book–The Spirit Controlled Temperament. That book, of course, was filled with God’s Word in coming to its conclusions. I should probably pick up that book and read it again. Daily Jot: The Tyranny Expansion Act of 2022 - Bill Wilson – www.dailyjot.com Senate democrats just passed The Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 which will not reduce inflation, but instead raises taxes for the climate change agenda and expands the IRS to collect those taxes. The bill now goes to the House of Representatives where the democrats will surely pass the bill. This is a clear example of how Congress lies to the people and represents only party-line agendas. Louisiana Republican Senator John Kennedy summed it up: “It’s a special kind of stupid to raise taxes during both a recession and inflation—that’s called stagflation, which is what we have right now as a result of President Biden’s policies.” This legislation is an indicator of an expanding tyrannical government. Senator Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) said, “The Democrats’ reckless tax and spending plan includes nearly $370 billion to fund the Green New Deal, $64 billion for Obamacare, and hundreds of billions in new taxes on American businesses and manufacturers…The spending spree also includes $80 billion to double the number of IRS agents–practically giving every American a personalized tax auditor. We should be cutting taxes, not increasing them.” What it amounts to is spending $370 billion to stimulate the pet climate change, green energy agenda of the left, rewarding non-profits, state and local governments, and Indian tribal governments with government cash payments while increasing taxes on corporations and raising drug prices on Medicare to pay for it. The Democrats claim the bill would reduce the deficit by some $300 billion, which would lower inflation. Think about this. At the time of this writing, the US federal deficit was nearly $1.6 TRILLION and the US national debt was $30.6 TRILLION. Applying intelligence and common sense, making a payment of $300 billion against a $31 Trillion debt is hardly going to reduce inflation of any kind, especially when raising taxes and Medicare drug prices to redistribute taxpayer funds to climate change cronies. This legislation only raises the misery index by cutting benefits to senior citizens and causing corporations to raise prices on goods and services to cover the tax increase. The prestigious Wharton-Penn Budget model says it will have zero impact on inflation, after raising inflation initially. This legislation is the linchpin of the Democratic Party’s anti-American socialist agenda. We are witnessing the United States in great decline both morally and economically. They raise taxes by saying they are making the rich pay their fair share. In reality, this is a tax increase on everybody who consumes any product from any company in America. Meanwhile, the government will have its boot to every taxpayers’ throat as Congress doubles the enforcers at the IRS—an unconstitutional administrative agency with the power to ruin lives without due process. This law is wrapped in tyranny, and it is neatly tied with a bow of lies. This so-called perfect storm was the result of three storms that combined into one, creating an almost apocalyptic situation in the Atlantic Ocean. Two existing storms were hit by a hurricane, ironically dubbed Hurricane Grace. The combination of these three weather elements produced a monstrous, two-thousand-mile-wide hurricane that produced one-hundred-foot waves. In Matthew 8 we find a story of Jesus’ disciples facing what could be described as a Hurricane Grace of their own. We are told that “when [Jesus] got into a boat, His disciples followed Him. And suddenly a great tempest arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep” (verses 23–24). Notice that verse 23 says, “His disciples followed Him.” And where did that lead? Right into a storm. This storm came because the disciples obeyed the Lord, not because they disobeyed Him. Sometimes when troubles come, we say that it’s a result of disobedience. But the fact may be that the storm is actually a result of obedience. God can use the storms in our lives to accomplish His purposes. As the saying goes, the same hammer that shatters glass also forges steel. Sometimes it seems as though it would be better if we never went through a storm. We think life always should be easy. But there are things we learn in storms. There are things we learn in hardships and crises that we don’t learn anywhere else. Where there are no trials in life, there are no triumphs. God has His purposes in the storms.
