You and I are privileged to stand on the cresting waves of prophecy—to live in a time closer to the return of Jesus Christ than any other generation in the history of the world. We sense the nearness of His return. We see the signs of the times. We know the world is reaching a climactic point of unparalleled crisis. Nuclear weapons are now sophisticated enough and small enough to be carried by hand; such weapons even have a nickname: “tactical nukes.” The global economy is hanging by a spider’s thread. Political fragmentation seems to be occurring simultaneously on every continent. And the -isms—secularism, radical Islamism, communism, totalitarianism, and terrorism—are spreading over the nations like a runaway case of poison ivy. These realities frighten us and are heartrending, but to me they’re also exhilarating, for they portend the return of Christ. I’ve been exhilarated by the thought of seeing Christ for many years, and, like you, I’ve been privileged to live at a time when we can trace the prophecies of God’s Word being fulfilled before our very eyes. Prophecy Comes to Life I also feel honored to have been connected in a small way with two of the most important prophecy books or series of books that have ever been written. I began my pastoral career in 1969 when my wife, Donna, and I, along with seven families, started Blackhawk Baptist Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana. In 1970, the second year of my pastoral ministry there, Hal Lindsey published a book entitled The Late Great Planet Earth. The book came out a few years after the Six-Day War in the Middle East when people were focused on the remarkable events unfolding in Israel. This book brought the message of biblical prophecy into everyday conversation, and it became the bestselling nonfiction book of the seventies. It sold more than twenty-eight million copies by 1990 and was eventually translated into more than fifty languages. Some pundits have calculated that, all together, Lindsey’s book sold more than thirty-five million copies. Hal Lindsey graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary, the same seminary from which I graduated in 1967. Both of us were privileged to sit under some of the greatest teachers of Bible prophecy in the modern era—professors including Dwight Pentecost, John Walvoord, and Charles Ryrie. In his book, Lindsey took the theological truths he had learned in seminary regarding the prophetic portions of Scripture, as well as insights from his own subsequent studies, and connected them to events in the present and future. The coauthor of Lindsey’s book was a gifted and godly woman named Carole Carlson. In the early eighties, I met Carole and her husband, Ward, at the Forest Home Bible Conference in California, where I was a speaker. Sometime during that week, Donna and I had coffee with Carole, and she suggested she might be able to assist me in putting some of my prophetic sermons into print. Two books came out of that conversation. The first one, The Handwriting on the Wall, was released in 1992. It captured the message of the Old Testament book of Daniel. Escape the Coming Night, a contemporary commentary on the New Testament book of Revelation, was released on the first day of the Gulf War and became my all-time bestselling book. I recall with fondness the hours Carole and I spent together talking about prophecy and discussing how to make it come alive for our readers. Since then, both Carole and Ward have graduated into the presence of the Lord. Yet they’re still alive today, not only in heaven but also in the books they helped two authors create. Tim LaHaye and the Left Behind Series In the late seventies and early eighties I developed a relationship with a California pastor by the name of Tim LaHaye. By the providence of God, I was called to be his successor at what was then called Scott Memorial Baptist Church in San Diego, California. Today that church is Shadow Mountain Community Church. After forty-two years, I am still the pastor of that church. It fills me with gratitude to think Tim LaHaye and I have pastored the same church for over sixty years. In the early 1990s, God placed a burden upon Dr. LaHaye’s heart as he was flying home from a speaking engagement. After a vigorous study of the Scriptures, he had firmly come to the conclusion that all believing Christians would be removed from the world prior to the Tribulation by means of an event called the Rapture. On the airplane that day, he couldn’t help noticing one of the pilots flirting with a flight attendant. The pilot was wearing a wedding ring. Dr. LaHaye thought to himself, What if this were the moment God chose to remove His faithful believers from earth, leaving behind billions of bewildered unbelievers? What if the Rapture occurred while I was riding on an airplane? It was then he decided to write a fictional account of what could happen on earth in the moments after the Lord returns in the skies to suddenly take all Christians to heaven. Dr. LaHaye joined forces with an experienced author named Jerry Jenkins to write the series. The first book, Left Behind, was published in 1995. If you’ve read it, you likely remember the opening scene, which features an airline pilot interrupted by a frantic stewardess telling him that dozens of passengers have disappeared. Only the bodies were missing; everything else—clothes, shoes, and even gold fillings—were left behind. What an opening scene for a novel—especially one based on biblical truths about unfolding prophecy! That book and the fifteen that followed sold close to eighty million copies. The last six volumes in the series each debuted as number one on all the major bestseller lists, including those of the New York Times, USA Today, Publishers Weekly, and the Wall Street Journal. Two of the books were made into movies, and the entire series inspired a children’s collection of Left Behind books. Even as I’m writing these words today, a new Left Behind movie has been released, more than two decades after the first book was published. I had the honor of walking through some of those exciting days with my friend Tim LaHaye. On a number of occasions he’d invite me to lunch and present me with a signed copy of the latest release in the series. I owe a lot to Hal Lindsey and Tim LaHaye. They helped me understand how important it was to teach the prophetic Scriptures—which, by the way, comprise 27 percent of the Bible. I believe one of the reasons God blessed these remarkable books by Lindsey and Dr. LaHaye was this: the Rapture is the central event in each series. The Rapture Is the Central Event in Biblical Prophecy Mark Hitchcock wrote, “More than any other single thing, studying the end timeshas helped me to understand the whole Bible. And while there are many truths about the end times that have deeply affected my life, one truth stands out above all the others: the Rapture.” Who among the followers of Jesus wouldn’t be thrilled to hear the blast of the trumpet, catch the shout of the angel, and feel the upward pull of the magnetic, rapturous grace of God calling us out of this world and letting us see our Lord Jesus face-to-face? How we need this anticipation! It’s our glorious hope in a world filled with hopelessness. Peter spoke of how wonderful it is to be “looking forward to these things” (2 Pet. 3:14). It will be the Great Disappearance—the moment when billions of people suddenly vanish from the face of the earth, along with billions of dead bodies returning to life and ascending to meet the Lord in the air. Imagine the thrill for those who go and the terror for those who stay! Scriptural Truth to Give You Hope This is something to think about upon rising in the morning and retiring at night. This isn’t just the light at the end of the tunnel; it’s the light that heralds eternity, heaven, and the fulfillment of all God has promised His children. This is the truth spoken by the Savior who said, “I will come again and receive you to Myself” (John 14:3). It’s the truth Paul proclaimed when he said the Rapture would happen “in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet” (1 Cor. 15:52). This is the truth expressed in these infallible, unforgettable words: “For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord” (1 Thess. 4:16–17). There Is Talk in Russia About Hitting Targets in The U.S. Because Nuclear War Has Become “Inevitable” - by Michael Snyder - http://endoftheamericandream.com/there-is-talk-in-russia-about-hitting-targets-in-the-u-s-because-nuclear-war-has-become-inevitable/ Most Americans have absolutely no idea how close we are to nuclear war. Our politicians confidently assure us that the war in Ukraine will never spark a nuclear conflict, and the mainstream media in the western world rarely talks about such a scenario. But over in Russia, things are completely different. They regard the war in Ukraine as an existential conflict between Russia and NATO, and there is constant talk on Russian television about the possibility of nuclear war. Here is the latest example that I have come across… A Kremlin propagandist has issued the latest nuclear threat against the West regarding the war in Ukraine, warning that the U.S. could be in danger of a Russian missile attack. Igor Korotchenko, editor of the newspaper National Defense and a regular guest on the Russia 1 channel where guests have repeatedly called for strikes against Ukraine’s allies, took exception to criticism of Russian conduct in the war. During his recent appearance on the Russia 1 channel, Korotchenko openly talked about a “first strike” which would involve hitting “targets on the territory of the United States of America”… “The most important message we should send to the Americans is that we will not wage war with you in Europe,” he said in a clip subsequently posted on X (formerly Twitter) by Ukrainian internal affairs adviser Anton Gerashchenko. “In response to your attacks on Russian military or civilian facilities, the first strike will be a preventative limited strike against targets on the territory of the United States of America,” he told the anchor of 60 Minutes, Yevgeny Popov. Last week, Russia announced that its Sarmat strategic missile system, which can reach the U.S., had been put on combat duty. That is pretty stunning. But Korotchenko’s remarks are tame compared to what retired Major General Alexander Vladimirov is saying. Vladimirov is the author of Russia’s “war bible”, and he is entirely convinced that a nuclear war involving the United States and Russia has become “inevitable”… Nuclear war is the ‘inevitable’ conclusion of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, a Russian general who wrote the nation’s ‘war bible’ has warned. The chilling forecast came from retired Major General Alexander Vladimirov, who penned Russia’s three volume book called the ‘General Theory of War’. Why didn’t this make headline news all over the United States? According to Vladimirov, “nuclear weapons will be used in this war”, and he wants his country to actively prepare for such an outcome so that they will have the best chance to survive… He warned: ‘I am sure that nuclear weapons will be used in this war – inevitably, and from this neither we nor the enemy have anywhere to go. ‘The sooner our politicians and leadership realize this, the sooner we start to train troops and the population for this – the more chances we will have for survival, which means victory.’ Sadly, Vladimirov is seeing things quite clearly. If we stay on the path that we are on, it will result in the unthinkable. That is why so many of us have been advocating for a peaceful solution in Ukraine. Unfortunately, Joe Biden and his minions just keep escalating matters. They are deeply frustrated with how poorly Ukraine’s counteroffensive has fared, and they are pushing the Ukrainians to make more of an effort to achieve a breakthrough in the south… Half a dozen US officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told The New York Times and other outlets that they are starting to question some of Ukraine’s military tactics, including where on the frontline they are placing their combat units. Ukrainian commanders are dividing their forces equally between the east and the south of the country when they should be consolidating them more in the south, the officials said. They urged Ukraine to push through the vast minefields left behind by Russia in the area, even if this means losing more soldiers and equipment in the process, according to the reports. But what are the Ukrainians supposed to do? The Russian defenses are extremely well prepared, and tens of thousands of Ukrainian men have already been slaughtered during fruitless attempts to break through Russian lines. Meanwhile, the Russians have been making significant gains on the eastern front… The Ukrainian Army is facing a major strategic defeat on the eastern front as it shows obvious signs of collapse along the entire defensive axis from Kupyansk to Svyatovo-Kremina-Liman-Serebryansky-Belogorovka. As we can see, the situation in the Kupyansk and Krasnolimansky directions is becoming more and more difficult for the Ukrainian formations. It is no coincidence that Kiev forces in the Kharkiv region, with the support of the SBU (Security Service of Ukraine), conduct door-to-door walks in the territory, and almost all men, even the elderly, are mobilized into the ranks of Ukrainian formations. The Ukrainians are running out of warm bodies. At some point they are going to get very desperate. And as I always say, desperate people do desperate things. At the same time, war with China just keeps getting closer and closer. This week, the Biden administration approved an 80 million dollar military weapons package for Taiwan “under a program typically saved for sovereign nations”… The Biden administration has approved funding for the first-ever transfer of US military equipment to Taiwan under a program typically saved for sovereign nations, according to a notification sent to Congress on Tuesday. The package – which is part of the State Department’s foreign military financing (FMF) program – totals $80 million and will be paid for by US taxpayers. “FMF will be used to strengthen Taiwan’s self-defense capabilities through joint and combined defense capability and enhanced maritime domain awareness and maritime security capability,” the department wrote in its notification to Congress that was reviewed by CNN. Needless to say, this move absolutely infuriated the Chinese… China’s Foreign Ministry on Thursday expressed “strong dissatisfaction” and “firm opposition” at the arms sale, which it said had harmed “China’s sovereignty and security interests” and undermined “peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait.” It urged the US to “cease enhancing US-Taiwan military connections and arming Taiwan” and “stop creating tensions across the Taiwan Strait,” ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin told a regular news conference. China’s Defense Ministry also lashed out at the sale, saying the Chinese military will “take all necessary measures to resolutely counter this.” Ever since Joe Biden entered the White House, his administration has been endlessly provoking both the Russians and the Chinese. In the process, they have been driven closer together. And now the Russians are actually proposing that North Korea should also be included in upcoming joint naval exercises… Russia has reportedly proposed conducting three-way naval exercises with North Korea and China in the Indo-Pacific, potentially formalizing a union between countries that already individually pose security threats to the U.S. and its allies. According to South Korean news agency Yonhap, South Korea’s National Intelligence Service revealed the proposal to lawmakers in a closed-door briefing on Monday, alleging that the Russian defense minister Sergei Shoigu offered such a show of alliance to North Korea during his meeting with Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un in July. Just this past weekend, Russia’s ambassador to North Korea, Alexander Matsegora, told Russian media that it “seems appropriate” to include North Korea in joint military drills between Russia and China. The stage is being set for the hot phase of World War III. But most Americans are clueless about all of this. Most Americans simply believe it when our “experts” tell them that everything is going to be just fine, and for the moment ignorance is bliss. Prophecy Update Videos Must Watch Videos! Franklin - https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/19946/china-preparing-for-war Chinese Communist Party (CCP) leader Xi Jinping is rapidly militarizing his country and has instructed its army to "prepare for war" and "fight and win" it. Just a few weeks ago, China expert (full disclosure: and Gatestone Senior Fellow) Gordon Chang warned: "Chinese ruler Xi Jinping replaced the senior leadership of China's Rocket Force, which is responsible for almost all of China's 400 or so nuclear warheads. These personnel changes are part of what is almost certainly the most ominous development of this time. It looks like Xi is contemplating using or at least threatening to use his most destructive weapons. In other words, China is planning to go to war. "Xi sacked Rocket Force commander, Li Yuchao, and its political commissar, Xu Zhongbo. Neither has been seen in public since. Li's deputy, Liu Guangbin, has also disappeared, along with Zhang Zhenzhong, a former deputy. At about the same time, Wu Guohua, deputy commander of the Rocket Force, reportedly took his own life in early July." Xi is doubtless weighing the risk-reward ratio of launching an aggressive operation against Taiwan during US President Joe Biden's term of office. Xi is doubtless aware that his "window of opportunity" may be closing in 18 months, accompanied by a felicitously distracting US presidential election. The timing of any Chinese assault on Taiwan will most certainly be determined by Xi's assessment of the domestic political strength of the Biden administration as well as the possible need for a strong diversion from his own imploding economy. Xi is also doubtless assessing the US president's resolve to back up his repeated declarations that US forces would come to the defense of Taiwan in the event of a Chinese invasion, as opposed to the US State Department's immediate walk-back of the promise. Within the past year or so, the US leadership seems to have assumed that the increasingly provocative posture of China's army toward Taiwan was a mainly a consequence of visits to Taiwan by prominent US politicians, as well as the trip to Washington D.C. by Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen. The Chinese Communist Party claims that the US is treating Taiwan as an independent state and these VIP visits violate its "One China Policy." The truth, most likely, is that the CCP's repeated transgressions against Taiwan's air and maritime sovereignty, after then Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi's August 2022 visit to Taiwan, are actually just part of the CCP's military invasion exercises on its way to an all-out assault. The CCP's "rehearsals" have so far demonstrated its increased capability in amphibious landing exercises, air attacks, bombing runs, and naval maneuvers in support of its ground forces. The CCP's Eastern Theater Command has, in addition, established a Joint Operations Command Center, responsible for coordinating all phases of an actual invasion of Taiwan. Military moves suggestive of the CCP's hostile intent toward Taiwan, included recent deliveries of wheeled armor vehicles to China's coastal province of Guangdong, an area with several natural launch points for an invasion of Taiwan. Another maneuver was the April 4, 2022 exercise displaying the CCP's most modern amphibious assault ship which, in an actual invasion, would be deployed in support of its Ground Forces, specifically the 72nd Group Army. The CCP's contempt for international law can be seen in its repeated violations of Taiwan's air and maritime sovereignty. The country's aggressive behavior was repeated on August 19-20, when several People's Liberation Army (PLA) warplanes flew so close to Taiwan that the island's military scrambled its air defense. The CCP has also violated other international agreements: the 2016 ruling of the International Tribunal at the Hague that awarded to the Philippines the waters and outcrop islets as being within their Economic Exclusive Zone; the Geneva Convention on the Laws of War, by allowing PLA troops to use medieval torture weapons against Indian troops in Himalayan Mountain clashes in 2020, and the UN's Universal Declaration on Human Rights by the mass imprisonment, rape and property destruction of ethnic Uighurs in Xinjiang Province. In addition, China's Rocket Force, in April 2022, launched missiles that flew over Taiwan and landed inside Japan's Exclusive Economic Zone . Furthermore, since January of this year, Chinese aircraft and naval vessels have habitually crossed the assumed median line between China and Taiwan in the Taiwanese Strait. Xi Jinping and former Foreign Minister Qin Gang both warned the US about interfering in what China claims is an internal problem, and Xi added: "Western countries led by the United States have carried out all-round containment, encirclement and suppression of China, which has brought unprecedented severe challenges to China's development." Xi has stressed that "the Taiwan question is the core of China's core interest" and has described as "wishful thinking" any expectation that China might compromise on the eventual incorporation of Taiwan into Communist China. China has also rolled out a campaign of intimidation that shows China calling the shots. These began with the berating the US in Alaska, to which the State Department's response was "deep concerns" and continued with smuggling over the US border fentanyl and other drugs that have killed an estimated 200,000 civilians; renaming Confucius Institutes instead of closing them; establishing at least six illegal police stations in the US; sending a Chinese spy balloon over America's sensitive military and nuclear military sites before the Biden Administration shot it down, after the spycraft had sent back to China in real time all the information it needed; hacking and spying, and repeatedly rejecting US proposals to establish protocols of communication in a crisis between the United States and China. Chinese Minister of National Defense Li Shangfu also summarily refused to meet with US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin in May 2023. China's pattern of negativity in trying to gaslight the US and perhaps the world into thinking the US is doing what, in fact, China is doing. For a finishing touch, China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in the spring of 2022, tried to sell the public the idea that the US is attempting the "full-blown containment and suppression of China." The danger, of course, is that if Xi loses faith in the possibility of a peaceful union with Taiwan, which he may hope will come about on January 13, 2024 with the election in Taiwan of a new, more complaint president, and if China's economy continues to collapse, he could decide to incorporate Taiwan with military force. He will then need to decide on the most appropriate time to launch an invasion of Taiwan. After witnessing the Biden Administration's abandonment of Afghanistan, that would most likely be while Biden is still in power. The most extensive exercises, the "invasion rehearsal," were executed in April 2023, when apparently winds and waves are conducive to amphibious operations. Early October would offer good weather for an invasion, too. Political perceptions of an ideal time for an invasion, however, are probably the prime factor. It is apparent that the vast majority of Taiwan's population want to maintain the status quo with increased support for independence for the next generation of Taiwanese. China's leadership might be calculating that as the months get closer to the 2024 US presidential election, the Biden administration will be too focused on campaigning to response in a serious way to a Chinese invasion of Taiwan. There are sure to be parallel threats to the United States, thanks to China's greater knowledge of US military sites from the spy balloon; land purchases near military bases from which the Chinese could jam, disable, or entirely prevent a US response; and a new group of possibly up to 5,000 men, many single and of military age, brought into America over its southern border. These men, even now, may be militarizing China's new US "farmland" -- as they did on China's artificial islands in the South China Sea –- to sabotage US electric grids, water supply, power plants, civilian and military airports, communication centers, highways, tunnels, bridges, ports and other strategic infrastructure. Nearing Midnight: Heaven Changes Everything – Jonathan Brentner - https://www.raptureready.com/category/nearing-midnight/ There’s a contemporary tune by Big Daddy Weave that I love: Heaven Changes Everything. The focus of the song is that our hope of Heaven is something that brings abundant hope in the midst of all our trials, disappointments, and sorrows. When I listen to it on the radio, my thoughts often race ahead to our expectation of Jesus’ appearing, which also enables us to endure living in a world where lawlessness, deception, violence, and wickedness are the likes of which we couldn’t have even imagined just ten years ago. It’s because Heaven Changes Everything that I look forward to bringing you biblical perspectives on current events as well as the substance of our joyous hope. As such, I’m extremely grateful to Terry James for inviting me to write for the Nearing Midnight column. He has become a friend and a mentor during the past couple of years. The book emphasizes the amazing over-the-top joy that’s headed our way after we meet Jesus in the air. The passion of my ministry is that of defending the pre-Tribulation Rapture and Jesus’ thousand-year reign on the throne of David. However, I also love connecting the events of our time to what God’s Word says about the last days. There’s one particular event that highlights the evil that the Bible tells us would be prominent before Jesus’ return to the earth. The stories that I hear from Lahaina, Hawaii, break my heart. It very much appears as though the fire was intentional because the globalists desired the land. Some suggest they desire to build one of their 15-minute cities on the area that burned, while others believe the elite want to steal the land in order to profit from selling it to developers. Either way, only the devil could inspire such evil. Some residents of Lahaina say that there are still one thousand children missing, while others say that number is double that total. It’s so very difficult to comprehend the level of evil that exists among the powerbrokers of our day. There’s a pervasive “bubble of normalcy,” especially in the U.S., which keeps a great many people, as well as believers, from accepting the murderous intent of those that govern us. In John 8:44, Jesus described the devil as a “murderer,” a “liar,” and the “father of lies.” The Lord also said this about him, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy” (John 10:10). Although these verses are not what we would normally refer to as prophecy, the depictions of our enemy help us greatly in understanding the forces that govern so many of our nations, including America, in these last days. It should come as no surprise to us that the Luciferian globalists display the murderous and deceptive character of the one who controls their thoughts and actions. As difficult as it is to wrap our minds around the purposeful killing of people in Hawaii, it perfectly aligns with the satanic influence of those who perpetrated it. Should it really surprise us that those who fervently support the killing of innocents in the womb are capable of this? How can we deal with such a willful killing apart from what the Bible tells us about our future, about Heaven? I have no way to cope with such things apart from my hope in Jesus’ imminent appearing and His subsequent wrath that will fall on these agents of death and destruction. Whenever I feel anger bubbling up inside of me because of the violence and deception of our day, I run to Psalms 37 and 94. They remind me that God is sovereign and in control. He will justly deal with perpetrators of wickedness and violence after He brings us to the safety of glory in His Father’s house (John 14:1-3; Colossians 3:4). I believe these psalms are also prophetic of the coming Day of the Lord wrath, which will sweep over the world after the Rapture of the Church. Yes, Heaven Changes Everything for both our personal trials and tragic circumstances we endure, as well as for the grief we feel from living in a world moments before the Rapture and the start of the Day of the Lord. Leading the way is what once was the entertainment “go to” for American children, which has now become a not so subtle promoter of child sexual grooming. Yes, Disney. On August 25, the Libs of TikTok, a conservative group often accused of hate speech and false claims especially by the LGBTQ+ community, posted pictures of bearded men dressed as women greeting children at Disney attractions. In May, a video went viral of a Disney man dressed as a woman helping little girls “glam up” as Disney princesses. Breitbart reports 15 times where Disney promoted grooming children for the LGBTQ+ agenda in movies, TV shows and other programming. On August 22, Vogue posted on its website, “Since its inception in 2018, the annual Vogue 25 list has celebrated the influential women pushing British society forwards – and this year’s list is not only dazzlingly impressive, but comprised of trailblazers finding success wholly on their own terms.” Then it went on to list professional cyclist Emily Bridges, who is not a woman, saying, “Before May this year, she only had one goal: competing for Great Britain at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Then the British Cycling Federation banned transgender athletes from the sport. Now, the Welsh 22-year-old is fighting for inclusion for herself and other transgender sportspeople.” This follows other publications like Sports Illustrated, Time and USA Today recognizing men as women in this era of transmania. None have been so publicized recently more than Bud Light and its promotion of Dylan Mulvaney. After man-dressed-as-woman Mulvaney made its marking splash for Bud Light, the brand lost an estimated $27 billion to date. But Bud Light ‘s troubles are just beginning. The Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee is investigating Anheuser-Busch on whether it violated the Beer Institute’s Advertising/Marketing Code and Buying Guidelines prohibiting marketing to individuals younger than the legal drinking age. The Committee cites specific evidence that Mulvaney’s audience is underaged viewers. Target is another corporation that promoted sexual grooming of kids and lost over $16 billion in market cap. Americans are frankly done with this transmainia, and corporate America ought to take notice. Parents are speaking against LGBTQ+ policies in public schools. Even the progressive New York Times is pumping the trans brakes with articles about those denouncing the trans movement. It’s not about hate as the transgender advocates so fiercely and hatefully claim. It’s about the targeting of children with sexual grooming detrimental to their lives. The National Library of Medicine reports, “Data indicate that 82% of transgender individuals have considered killing themselves and 40% have attempted suicide, with suicidality highest among transgender youth.” This alone should be warning to corporate America and parents throughout the country. Romans 2:32 speaks of those, “Who knowing the judgment of God…not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.” This transmania in corporate America is, say it with me…Stupidocrisy. He said, “If you cling to your life, you will lose it; but if you give up your life for me, you will find it” (verse 39 NLT). Jesus was saying, “Do you want to find yourself? Then lose yourself.” In Luke’s Gospel He said something similar: “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me. If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it” (Luke 9:23–24 NLT). Statements like these don’t play well in our society. And we’ve even brought that thinking into the church. We hear preachers say, as though it were gospel truth, that we need self-esteem. And we are told that we need to love ourselves. People will cite Scripture, saying, “You know, the Bible tells you to love your neighbor as yourself. But before you can love your neighbor, you must love yourself. And our problem is that we don’t love ourselves.” But is that true? Maybe the problem in our society is not that we fail to love ourselves but that we love ourselves too much. We already do love ourselves. That’s obvious. It’s an established fact. Therefore, the Bible is telling us to love our neighbors in the same way that we love ourselves. Remember, the apostle Paul wrote, “No one hates his own body but feeds and cares for it, just as Christ cares for the church” (Ephesians 5:29 NLT). How often have we heard the statement “I’m trying to find myself”? However, Jesus said, “If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it.” This simply means that we take our plans, our goals, and our aspirations and we place them at the feet of Jesus Christ. Then we say, “I want Your will more than mine. Nevertheless, not my will, but Yours, be done.” Don’t ever be afraid to pray that, because God says, “For I know the plans I have for you. . . . They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11 NLT). God is thinking about you, and His thoughts are very good. They’re about your future, and they’re thoughts of giving you hope. He is not against you. Therefore, when you come to the Lord, say, “Here are my plans. But if You have something different in mind, I surrender to You, because You know best.” God wants us to love Him more than anyone else. He wants us to want His will more than anyone else’s will. And what God does in our lives will be better than what we ever could have done on our own.
