The Olivet Discourse in its Entirety - By Mark A. Becker - https://www.raptureready.com/2022/12/24/the-olivet-discourse-in-its-entirety-by-mark-a-becker/
Introduction This survey is an effort to combine, in a cohesive manner, the three accounts of the Olivet Discourse found in the synoptic gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke. The article will feature only the verses from each of the three accounts of the Olivet Discourse as found in Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21 – in as succinct of a working order as I am able to surmise – along with subtitles to help guide the reader along. The links to our three previous articles on the Olivet Discourse are below, so the reader may access them for their own studies as they move along. Hyperlinks to many other articles I have written on any given subject found within the Olivet Discourse can also be found next to the passage citations so that the reader can dig deeper into any given topic in order to enhance their own personal studies. Outline for the Olivet Discourse When it comes to an outline for the Olivet Discourse, there is a cut-off line, “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.” This amazing verse separates the Olivet Discourse in all three synoptic gospels, where it is presented into two unique segments. Everything before this vital verse – including The Parable of the Fig Tree – is speaking of the end-times, going all the way into the Tribulation and up to Christ’s Second Coming when He gathers Israel (His “elect”) back to Israel, with the rapture of the church entirely omitted. Everything after this important verse, in each synoptic gospel’s presentation of the Olivet Discourse, Christ is speaking to His disciples exclusively as representing the church as He teaches them the rapture! As we shall see, the rapture passages found in Christ’s Olivet Discourse include Matthew 24:36-51, Mark 13:32-37, and Luke 21:34-36. Matthew 25:1-13, the Parable of the 10 Virgins, also speaks of the rapture with the contrast of five wise virgins (true converts) and five foolish virgins (false converts). Likewise, Matthew 25:14-30 is a parable of Christ’s return for His bride, represented as servants who will be accountable to the “talents,” gifts, and resources the Lord had entrusted to each of His professing servants. All were true converts except the last – who showed himself to be a false convert – as he was cast into outer darkness where there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Other rapture verses in the gospels include Luke 17:34-37 and John 14:1-3, along with a few other parables. The Disciples’ Questions “And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?” – Matthew 24:3 “And as he sat upon the mount of Olives over against the temple, Peter and James and John and Andrew asked him privately, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled?” – Mark 13:3-4 “And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass?” – Luke 21:7 General Signs of the Church Age Deception “And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.” – Matthew 24:4-5 “And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you: For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.” – Mark 13:5-6 “And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.” – Luke 21:8 Wars and Rumors of War “And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.” – Matthew 24:6 “And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet.” – Mark 13:7 “But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by.” – Luke 21:9 Nation Against Nation “For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:” – Matthew 24:7a “For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:” – Mark 13:8a “Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:” – Luke 21:10 Earthquakes, Famines, and Pestilences “… and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.” – Matthew 24:7b “… and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows.” – Mark 13:8b “And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences;” – Luke 21:11a The Beginning of Sorrows “All these are the beginning of sorrows.” – Matthew 24:8 Fearful Sights and Great Signs Shall be From Heaven in the Tribulation “… and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.” – Luke 21:11b Persecution of Apostles, Church, and Post-Rapture Tribulation Saints “Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.” – Matthew 24:9 “And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.” – Matthew 24:10 “But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them.” – Mark 13:9 “But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name’s sake. And it shall turn to you for a testimony.” – Luke 21:12-13 “But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.” – Mark 13:11 “Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer: For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.” – Luke 21:14-15 “Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death. And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.” – Mark 13:12-13 “And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death. And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake.” – Luke 21:16-17 The Rise of False Prophets and False Teachers “And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.” – Matthew 24:11 [Mark 16:16– Salvation and Baptism, 1 Corinthians 15:29– Baptism for the Dead?, and Beware the Aión Deception of A.E. Knoch and CLNT!] Lawlessness and Love Waxing Cold “And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.” – Matthew 24:12 Enduring Unto the End “But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.” – Matthew 24:13 [QFTBOC: Salvation in the Tribulation] Salvation Assured “But there shall not an hair of your head perish. In your patience possess ye your souls.” – Luke 21:18-19 The Gospel “And the gospel must first be published among all nations.” – Mark 13:10 [Answering the Call of The Great Commission and Why Am I Here and What Is It All About?] “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.” – Matthew 24:14 [Revelation 14: Tribulation Outline] Abomination of Desolation “And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.” – Luke 21:20 [A Study of Zechariah 14:1-11] “When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.” – Matthew 24:15-18 [An Interpretive Scenario of the Abomination of Desolation] “But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains: And let him that is on the housetop not go down into the house, neither enter therein, to take any thing out of his house: And let him that is in the field not turn back again for to take up his garment.” – Mark 13:14-16 “Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.” – Luke 21:21 “For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.” – Luke 21:22 “And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.” – Matthew 24:19-21 [The Abomination of Desolation: A Unique Link] “But woe to them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! And pray ye that your flight be not in the winter. For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be.” – Mark 13:17-19 “But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.” – Luke 21:23 “And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.” – Luke 21:24 “And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.” – Matthew 24:22 “And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect’s sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.” – Mark 13:20 A Warning Concerning False Christs, False Prophets, Antichrist, and the False Prophet “Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Behold, I have told you before. Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.” – Matthew 24:23-26 [Revelation 13 –The Beast, Revelation 13 –The Antichrist, Revelation 13 – The False Prophet & The Mark, and Elijah and The False Prophet] “And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not: For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.” – Mark 13:21-22 [God’s Strong Delusion & The Father of Lies] Take Heed “But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.” – Mark 13:23 Conditions at the End of the Tribulation “Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:” – Matthew 24:29 “But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.” – Mark 13:24-25 [The Mark of the Beasts] “And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.” – Luke 21:25-26 The Second Coming “For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.” – Matthew 24:27-28 [“The Eagles be Gathered Together”] “And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.” – Matthew 24:30 “And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.” – Mark 13:26 [The Kings of the East: Mission Impossible and The Valley of Jehoshaphat and ‘Armageddon’] “And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.” – Luke 21:27-28 [Luke 21:28 – Rapture, Second Coming, or Both?] Gathering Together Israel “And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.” – Matthew 24:31 [A Study of Zechariah 14:12-21] “And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.” – Mark 13:27 [Hosea 2:14-23– Israel: God’s Betrothed] The Parable of the Fig Tree “Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.” – Matthew 24:32-34 “Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near: So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors. Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done.” – Mark 13:28-30 “And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees; When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand. So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.” – Luke 21:29-32 [The Parable of the Fig Tree] The Olivet Discourse Cut-Off line “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.” – Matthew 24:35 “Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.” – Mark 13:31 “Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.” – Luke 21:33 Teaching the Rapture “But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.” – Matthew 24:36 [Imminence, Signs, and Feasts – Oh My!] “But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.” – Mark 13:32 [The Trinity: Examining the Triune God] “Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.” – Mark 13:33 “And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.” – Luke 21:34 “For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.” – Luke 21:35 “Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.” – Luke 21:36 “But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.” – Matthew 24:37-39 [The Paralambánō of Matthew24:40-41 & Luke 17:34-36] “Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.” – Matthew 24:40-41 [Jesus Was the First to Teach the Rapture! and Instantly Changed and Caught Up] “Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.” – Matthew 24:42 [The Imminency of the Rapture] “But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.” – Matthew 24:43 “Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.” – Matthew 24:44 [Rapture Soothsaying] Matthew’s Parable of the Rapture “Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.” – Matthew 24:45-47 “But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” – Matthew 24:48-51 Mark’s Parable of the Rapture “For the Son of Man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.” – Mark 13:34 “Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:” – Mark 13:35 “Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.” – Mark 13:36 “And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.” – Mark 13:37 Watch and keep sharing the gospel with the lost for Christ while we still have time! Misguided Hope: The Growing Call For A Global Government And World Leader – By Tim Moore - https://harbingersdaily.com/misguided-hope-the-growing-call-for-a-global-government-and-world-leader/ It appears that the United States and several other countries that historically have called themselves democracies are as of late been longing for a stronger and stronger leader, not a president, but more like a king. And, those leaders who do already rule countries with almost absolute authority are not really qualified to take these ultimate positions because they inevitably end up falling into megalomania. For example, Russia’s Vladamir Putin started off as his nation’s president, but then eventually became a dictator for life. Now he sees himself as an emissary for God with a divine calling to reunite Russian and Ukrainian Orthodoxy. The end step in the path towards megalomania usually is to declare oneself as a god or even the God. We see this pattern throughout history. These leaders may start off with the right idea in serving their nation, but soon the power goes to their heads and they quickly begin demanding that the nation instead serve themselves. There are many examples of such political leaders throughout history. Megalomania is almost the default tendency of mankind. Remember Nimrod who was a great leader back in his day. We learned that he and his descendants tried to create the Tower of Babel. Over and over again in Scripture, we are presented by leaders who set themselves up against God’s divine leadership by trying to create their own pagan empires surrounding Israel. And, in recent years, we’ve been given a number of examples of leaders who exhibit megalomania. Just in this last century, we’ve had Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, and Mao. The Premier in China right now, Mr. Xi, is obviously heading in the same direction. Throughout human history, there’s been Alexander the Great, Genghis Khan, and Napoleon. Napoleon was such a megalomaniac that he didn’t even deem anybody else worthy of crowning him, so he crowned himself as the emperor of France! Even during the pandemic, many leaders began heartily embracing this authoritarian concept, who ought to have known better. Megalomaniacs are often portrayed in science fiction. Just look back at Dr. Moreau who was written by H.G. Wells. Moreau had his own island which he ruled with absolute authority. Captain Nemo, to a degree, ruled as captain of his submarine. Then there are television and movies, with characters such as Count Carlos Maria Vincenzo Manzeppi from The Wild Wild West who wanted to rule the world. There are characters like Khan in Star Trek. These characters were written as megalomaniacs. But, now, we have real people who are no better than these fictional megalomaniacs. Supporters of a new era of kings are actually suggesting that we need a single great leader — such as the Führer of Nazi Germany — to embrace worldwide. It’s hoped that this messianic figure will lead the nations out of our economic woes. I believe this tide is setting the world up for the prophesied Antichrist. The Bible prophesied that in the end times the Roman Empire will revive and rise again. What’s interesting is that for hundreds of years the Roman Empire started off as a republic. They had representative senators and some citizens could vote, if they came from a certain position. Shockingly enough, the Romans traded their republic in for an emperor. Why? Because Caesar could get things done. That’s why I think we’re seeing this emphatic push for a global government. Our societies have grown to include so many people, and the politics have gotten so complex and so gridlocked, especially in times of disasters like when COVID came through. During that time, we heard WHO say we needed a global government to best manage natural disasters, which are currently happening all over the world. And, we read in the Bible that natural disasters will increase in frequency and intensity as the Lord’s return draws near. We’re tired of all of the bureaucracy and long for a just ruler who can easily cut through the red tape. When it comes to a global government, I believe based on Scripture that world leadership will first narrow down to a group of men, like kings, and then eventually out of this group of ten men one will rise who will become the prophesied Antichrist. Megalomania will inevitably set in, and he will demand the world to worship him. Not even ten years ago, when I was talking with some friends about this scenario, we still didn’t see a call for global government. But, now that we’re past the Pandemic, it seems like there’s been a growing call for a global government. A lot of people are tired of the challenges in getting a decent law passed through our legislatures. Look at our own Congress — it’s completely gridlocked by two parties. Americans don’t want to wait for Congress to come up with solutions, or even to write laws, but rather for the Supreme Court to decide policies. We’ve been letting nine individuals decide what’s right and wrong in this nation for decades, whether it’s been Roe vs Wade and the legalization of abortion, which the Left wants, along with a whole host of other issues. We’ve been slowly giving power and authority to a much smaller governmental group. Likewise, our presidents have begun making law by executive order, such as Biden attempting to erase hundreds of billions of dollars of student loan debt, even though the Executive branch doesn’t have that kind of authority, either according to the Constitution or by Biden’s own testimony. And yet, he’s attempting it because there would be no other way to get that kind of provision passed by Congress. So, people will embrace expanded government in the short term based on their selfish hope of getting what they see will directly benefit themselves. Biblical Leadership Jesus talked about selfish versus unselfish leadership when He taught: Matthew 20:25-28 KJV – “But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them. But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; and whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.” Notice Jesus teaches that whoever wishes to become great will be your servant. He’s contrasting the attitude that we as Christians should exhibit versus the pagans who are selfishly motivated. The rulers of the Gentiles or godless, lord their power over their people, and great men exercise authority over the weaker. This has always been the tendency of humanity — to seek out a powerful leader whom they can unify around them. A Misguided Hope Westerners have historically looked down upon dictatorships. especially in the Middle East, where powerful religious leaders convince many of their people to follow them right off of a cliff. We think we’re smarter than that. We are going to be a republic that represents democratic values. And yet, as of late we’ve been allowing many of our leaders, not that they are great, but to exert great power over us even when they’ve been driving us to ruin. Manufactured disasters coupled the natural disasters have led the world to begin crying out for stronger, centralized leadership. We long for a messianic figure to step up and be the peacemaker. Well, the Bible prophesies in Daniel 9 and Revelation 6 and 13 that such a one-world ruler will indeed rise out of Europe and he will be hailed as a peacemaker. He will come promising to fix the looming global bankruptcy, which almost all economists are saying is coming right around the corner. He’ll supposedly even be able to stop the storms and fix the climate. But, and this is a universal concept, absolute power corrupts absolutely. This coming global leader, whether he starts off already satanically inspired, will eventually be possessed by Satan at the midpoint of the Tribulation, and so the power will inevitably go to his head. By the middle of the coming seven-year Tribulation period, he will demand that the entire world worship him. The Antichrist will be the ultimate megalomaniac. He certainly will be. The Bible provides an example of the kind of raw power a potential world ruler can gain during a time of trouble. In Genesis, we learn of Joseph who advised Egypt’s Pharaoh how to overcome the devastating seven-year famine that he had dreamed beforehand would occur. Joseph advised Pharaoh how over time he could essentially gain control over his entire land and the surrounding nations. Pharaoh traded stored food for money, cattle, land, and eventually people until he owned everything and everyone. The people had been reduced to serfdom slaving for their Pharaoh in order to survive. Likewise, our well-intentioned efforts to overcome disasters and to provide for our people in need can lead to the elimination of the freedoms that we have long enjoyed. Therefore, we shouldn’t look for a great human leader to come and “save” the human race, for his inevitable megalomania will lead the world into bondage. Rather, we instead should turn to the One who has already provided freedom from sin and death, and that’s the one true Messiah, Jesus Christ. Prophecy Update Videos Must Watch Videos!
Power of God’s Control – Terry James - https://terryjamesprophecyline.com/2022/12/25/power-of-gods-control/ Going back just a way in my personal history, I’ll divulge my one-time wanting more than anything to be a cape-wearing, soaring superhero. In that regard, there’s a photograph somewhere in the family archive of myself, Pappy, and David all wearing capes (towels). All three of us were about 6, I think—the age when I was saved in the Seventh Street Tabernacle Church on the corner of Seventh and Derby in Pekin, Illinois. Superman was the rage in the “funny books” (my sons mock me now for using that term for comic books). We studied the Man of Steel and wanted more than anything to fly and perform super feats of strength. Sometimes it got us in trouble –like when we jumped from places higher than were safe for mere mortals with towels affixed around necks. So Pappy, David, and I proved that human beings’ desire for supernatural powers must begin early in life. But what we are witnessing today is not mere child’s play. The determination has now reached the Tower of Babel level. People are determined to do things that caused the Lord God of Heaven to say the following: And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. (Genesis 1:6) Following the Great Flood of Noah’s time, people began to multiply, and the populations grew while they moved onto the plains of Shinar. They built their cities and erected the ziggurat we call the Tower of Babel. According to the Lord’s observation, they were apparently doing things that exhibited Lucifer’s ambitions to be God-like. The Lord, likely because they were created in His image and could achieve their ignoble ambitions, thus said: “Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech” (Genesis 11:7). It was done, and the people, unable to communicate, scattered about the then-known earth, forming various languages, cultures, etc. God had to intervene, else rebellion would again reach antediluvian level, bringing about the Lord’s judgment and the death of most all upon the planet. Some biblical scholars believe these post-Flood generations had tapped into dark powers from the demonic dimension and were beginning to achieve breakthroughs that were evil, not productive toward human progression God wanted for mankind. We come up to the Lord Jesus’ words: “But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be” (Matthew 24: 37). Ladies and gentlemen, the evidence indicates that we have arrived there. We must certainly be in times like when God had to scatter the tower-builders. Humanity’s lust for God-like power manifests each and every hour of the ongoing news cycles. It is neither childlike nor mere noble aspiration that confronts us with wicked enticement to be God-like. Demonic influence more and more becomes stark reality to those with spiritual discernment. Maybe the most egregious example of the neo-Babel tower-builders’ attempts at usurping God’s throne is found within the ambitious planning of Karl Schwab’s World Economic Forum (WEF). The following, I think, presents the indictment framing Jesus’ words “as it was in the days of Noah.” People’s desires to expand their human capabilities will give globalists an instrument of total control over our lives. Globalists have big dreams: to have godlike power over human beings, their reproduction, and their genetic code. Under their new buzzwords “human upgrade” or “body tuning,” they are selling their plans of providing people with chips for everyday use. With their desire to be able to rule over life, they don’t even stop at unborn children: You even want to tinker with babies’ genetic prerequisites in the womb… As Xiao Liu wrote on the World Economic Forum (WEF) website in June 2020, “We’re entering the era of the “Internet of Bodies”: collecting our physical data via a range of devices that can be implanted, swallowed or worn.” Apple is already boasting of a new implant in the clinical trial phase, which will grant users the ability to use their brains to control their iPhone or iPad with their thoughts. In addition, app stores are already being dreamed up for the future brain chips. Transhumanistic God Playing WEF advisor and transhumanism thought leader Yuval Noah Harari even goes one step further. He dreams of an “anti-virus program for the mind” to drive out negative – and probably also critical – thoughts from people. Then, in the future, Harari believes, “bioengineers will take the old Sapiens body, and intentionally rewrite its genetic code, rewire its brain circuits, alter its biochemical balance, and even grow entirely new limbs. They will thereby create new godlings, who might be as different from us Sapiens as we are different from Homo erectus.” So basically, in less than half a century, Cyborgs will replace humanity. In this world of machine-made elite gods, conventional, ordinary people without such “upgrades” only appear as a herd of cattle to be controlled and ruled over. Even human reproduction is to be controlled; the beautiful and rich can choose their desired children from the test tube. In any case, Harari doesn’t think much of humans. As he explains, there is no scientific evidence that sapiens, unlike pigs, have a soul. Transhumanists want to overcome humanity and cement their power. Sadly, people’s desires to expand their human capabilities will give globalists an instrument of total control over our lives. (“Transhumanism Horror: Elites Want to Genetically Alter Children in the Womb, High-Bred Globalist Kids,” Rapture Ready News, December 16, 2022) Getting back to Pappy, David, and my 6-year-old self, it seems our own desire for superpowers were something the globalist masters believe mankind can now achieve. WEF agenda contributor Kathleen Phillips, in a blog post titled, “Augmented tech can change the way we live,” writes: Superheroes have been dominating big and small screens for a while, but there’s a subtle change happening. Many children expect to develop superpowers themselves. These expectations may sound unattainable, but we’re already making the first strides towards an “augmented society.””, but only with the right support and vision. The support the globalist masters need is that which will be given by the Antichrist regime during the Tribulation. Let us be thankful that it is God, not the minions from the dark dimension, who has ultimate power and control over things to come. He tells us in His Holy Word the one and only way to be kept from that hour of absolute wickedness that is about to burst upon this rebellious earth –thus to be kept from His judgment and wrath. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:9–10) Watching and Waiting - Nathele Graham - [email protected] Once Christmas becomes a happy memory, what do you do? Do you go to the store and exchange your gifts for something that fits better or is a better color? Do you play with all the fun new gadgets you received from loved ones? We all have traditions, but on that first Christmas, a young mother was simply caring for her baby…the Son of God. There were certain things that had to be done in order to fulfill the Jewish law. Even though Jesus was God incarnate, He had put aside His deity in order to be a kinsman to the humans He created. He was born under very humble conditions to a very normal mother and step-father who followed the Law precisely. After all, Jesus became human to be our Kinsman Redeemer, and He wouldn’t allow Himself to be above the law. There were different requirements for male babies than for female. God knows there is a difference and that gender isn’t a choice nor is it “fluid”. God told Moses “Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, If a woman have conceived seed, and born a man child: then she shall be unclean seven days: according to the days of the separation for her infirmity shall she be unclean. And in the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised. And she shall then continue in the blood of her purifying three and thirty days; she shall touch no hallowed thing, nor come into the sanctuary, until the days of her purifying be fulfilled.” Leviticus 12:2-4. This was the Law when a son was born. Joseph and Mary were obedient to the law and did all that was required. “And when eight days were accomplished for the circumcising of the child, his name was called JESUS, which was so named of the angel before he was conceived in the womb.” Luke 2:21. When Mary was visited by Gabriel and told she was chosen to give birth to the Son of God, he also told her to name Him Jesus. This is the Greek form of the Hebrew Joshua, meaning “Jehovah is salvation”. The name is important, because that’s descriptive of why He was born. Salvation is only found in Him, and by faith we are saved by His grace. The next big event took place when Mary’s days of purification were accomplished. “And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord; (as it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord.)” Luke 2:22-23. Children are important to God. They are to be loved and nurtured. When God chose Mary to give birth to His Son, He knew that she would be faithful to the Law and love and nurture Jesus. Joseph, too, was a special man who would make sure the law was followed. This is the example of a Godly family. A father who leads his family in the ways of the Lord, a mother who humbly submits to her husband, and both parents are God-honoring examples to their children. The reason they were in the Temple that day was to present Jesus to the Lord. “And to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.”. Luke 2:24. The Law required a sacrifice. “And when the days of her purifying are fulfilled, for a son, or for a daughter, she shall bring a lamb of the first year for a burnt offering, and a young pigeon, or a turtledove, for a sin offering, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, unto the priest: who shall offer it before the LORD, and make an atonement for her: and she shall be cleansed from the issue of her blood. This is the law for her that hath born a male or a female.” Leviticus 12:6-7. You see, not only was the child to be presented to God, but the mother had to be cleansed. Mary wasn’t perfect, nor was she above the Law. She was required to fulfill her responsibility. There was more required of her. “And if she be not able to bring a lamb, then she shall bring two turtles, or two young pigeons; the one for the burnt offering, and the other for a sin offering: and the priest shall make an atonement for her, and she shall be clean.” Leviticus 12:8. These offerings were for cleansing of her sins. Gabriel had greeted her saying that she was highly favored and blessed among women (Luke 1:28). He didn’t say she was perfect and without sin. She needed salvation as much as anybody. We know from reading the account in Luke chapter 2 that she brought a pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons. She didn’t have a lamb to sacrifice…or did she? She brought with her the Lamb of God which takes away the sin of the world. Jesus. It would seem logical that the priests of the temple, who very religiously served God, would have recognized that it was their Messiah who was being presented to them that day. After all, not many days before, there had been angels proclaiming the birth of the King of kings to a group of shepherds. Those shepherds probably herded sheep to be used as sacrifices at the Temple. It would be reasonable that the priests would have heard about what the shepherds had seen and heard. Much like today, the religious leaders weren’t watching and waiting for their Messiah. They knew that one day He would appear, but surely, He would be a man of war who would save them from the oppression of the Romans. They weren’t looking for a baby, born in a manger. They just didn’t believe prophecy nor did they understand that there would be two comings of the same Messiah. The first would be a man of peace who would teach humility and love. An example for all to follow. The second coming will be when He destroys Satan, the true enemy of all mankind, and establishes His Eternal Kingdom. Many people today are blind to the truth and deny that prophecy is quickly being fulfilled, and that the Messiah, Jesus Christ our Lord, will return with power and might. Some of us today do understand that Christ will call us Home soon, then fight the final battle, defeating Satan and his minions. Many people are willingly ignorant. “Knowing this first that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, and saying, Where is the promise of his coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. For this they willingly are ignorant…” 2 Peter 3:3-5a. God’s word is truth, and prophecy will be fulfilled. Today, there are many of us who do believe God and are looking for our Lord to call us Home. There were some long ago, who also were looking for the Messiah. When Mary was on her way to fulfill her duty under the Law, she encountered two people who were not blinded by religious rites and those who wanted to control people. They believed God. “And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him.” Luke 2:25. Simeon was a special man. I’d like to be described as “just and devout”. The Holy Spirit wasn’t something new that appeared on the Day of Pentecost. The difference is that after Pentecost, believers are indwelt by the Holy Spirit. Simeon had the Holy Ghost upon him. It’s the same Spirit, whether before or after the cross, who will lead a person to a close walk with the Lord. So, it was with Simeon. “And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord’s Christ. And he came by the Spirit into the temple: and when the parents brought in the child Jesus, to do for him after the custom of the law, then took he him up in his arms and blessed God and said, Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word: for mine eyes have seen thy salvation, which thou hast prepared before the face of all people; a light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.” Luke 2:26-32. That’s quite a statement. Simeon, being led by the Holy Spirit, took joy in knowing that Jesus came to the nation of Israel and also to Gentiles, an unusual statement by a Jewish man, but a statement inspired by the Holy Spirit. A Pharisee or priest would never make such a statement. We can learn more from Simeon than we know. He was content to die, having seen his Saviour with his own eyes. Until we come to salvation through Jesus Christ, we cannot die in peace. Only faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ will bring eternal life. Simeon lived prior to the cross, but had been looking forward to the Messiah. Simeon also spoke a prophecy to Mary. “And Simeon blessed them and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel; and for a sign which shall be spoken against; (yea, a sword shall pierce through thy own soul also) that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.” Luke 2:34-35. The day would come when Mary would be devastated as she watched her Son being crucified, and pierced with a sword. Simeon wasn’t the only one that day who recognized Jesus. “And there was one Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Aser: she was of a great age, and had lived with a husband seven years from her virginity; and she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.” Luke 2:36-37. It seems as if the only ones who understood who this Child was, were the ones who walked closest to God. If you are upset because you don’t know where God is leading you, or you think He doesn’t speak to you, maybe you should study Simeon and Anna, and learn their ways. “And she coming in that instant gave thanks likewise unto the Lord, and spake of him to all them that looked for redemption in Jerusalem.” Luke 2:38. Once she found Jesus, she couldn’t keep Him to herself. She told everyone. This was a short study about people who were greatly blessed by walking close to God, believing His word, and patiently watching and waiting for His promise. Many people today call themselves Christians, but have no idea what that means. At one time, my husband thought he was a Christian because he lived in the United States. Then he met Jesus. What a revelation that was to Ron. Like the shepherds who were told by angels to go find the Child in a manger wrapped in swaddling clothes, they couldn’t keep their discovery quiet and hey shared what they had found, Ron couldn’t keep his joy to himself, but shared the Good News. Simeon and Anna had been watching and waiting for many years, and, because they lived close to God, they recognized their Redeemer when they met Him. What about you? Do you desire to find Salvation? If you’ve met Jesus, do you share with others? We need to, because if you study Scripture, and walk close to the Lord, you know that Jesus is about to call born again believers Home. We all need to be watching and waiting for that call, but we need to share the Gospel with everyone we know. The Rapture will happen soon. The Apostle John was given the revelation of the end of days, but was shown that before the Tribulation, Christians will be called Home. “After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter. And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.” Revelation 4:1-2. I’m watching and waiting, how about you? Until then I’m walking as close to God as I can. How about you? Daily Jot: New COVID restrictions in the works - Bill Wilson – www.dailyjot.com The conservative news media is abuzz about the Biden’s administration’s new COVID travel restrictions, but perhaps for the wrong reasons. The new restrictions, effective January 5, will require all air passengers two years and older (including US citizens) traveling to the US on flights originating from China, and the Special Administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macau, to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken no more than two days before departure. Conservatives are pointing to the hypocrisy of Joe Biden, who took President Trump to task in 2020 for his ban on travelers from China, calling his actions “familiar forces of hate, fear and xenophobia that he always flames … that have always existed in this society.” In fact, when Trump placed the travel ban on China, the entire Democratic Party leadership attacked him for being xenophobic. As it turned out, Trump was right to ban travel from China because the COVID 19 virus came from there. And even today, nearly three years later, China is suffering massive deaths in dealing with the virus the Communist Chinese government allegedly weaponized with the help of Dr. Anthony Fauci and National Institutes of Health financial aid. Notwithstanding, the Biden Administration is now doing the exact same thing that a short time ago, candidate Joe Biden said was hateful, racist and xenophobic against Asian Pacific people. But there is a whole lot more to this travel ban. In addition to requiring anyone traveling from China to have negative COVID tests, there is a more sinister nod to yet another travel lockdown and vaccine passports. The Biden Administration announcement said, “The US only considers persons who have received the sole dose of a one-dose vaccine or the second dose of a two-dose vaccine at least 14 days prior to travel to be fully vaccinated. Airlines must deny travel to nonresident foreign nationals who do not produce proof of full vaccination unless covered under an exception. Additionally, nonresident foreign nationals entering through land or ferry ports from Mexico or Canada are also required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, regardless of whether they are traveling for essential reasons.” This doesn’t seem to apply to illegals crossing the border. But there is even more. The announcement made clear: “Authorities at the federal or local levels could reimpose, extend, further ease, or otherwise amend any restrictions with little-to-no notice depending on disease activity over the coming weeks.” This leaves the door open for the government at any level to reinstitute lockdowns, require vaccine passports, mandate vaccinations, or any other restrictions with “little to no notice.” While yes there would be court cases and protests, but do you see where this could head once again? As is written in Colossians 2:8, “Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.” It appears that there are plans afoot to continue the deceptions of the past, even though they were failures in the name of science and philosophy. Beware, indeed. Daily Devotion: Wholehearted - by Greg Laurie – www.harvest.org So that day Moses solemnly promised me, ‘The land of Canaan on which you were just walking will be your grant of land and that of your descendants forever, because you wholeheartedly followed the Lord my God.’ —Joshua 14:9 https://harvest.org/resources/devotion/wholehearted/ - Listen One of the reasons this world still appeals to many of us is that we lack closeness to God. When we’re only giving God our bare minimum and our love for Jesus isn’t burning brightly, the ways of the world and the temporary pleasures the world offers will look more and more appealing to us. But if we can get our priorities right, we can see our world for what it is. That was what Caleb did. The Bible says that he “wholeheartedly followed the Lord” (Joshua 14:9 nlt). Wholeheartedly following the Lord meant that Caleb didn’t compromise. He stood his ground, wanting the approval of God more than the approval of others. Wholeheartedly following the Lord meant that Caleb took God at His Word and stood on it. And wholeheartedly following the Lord meant that Caleb desired fellowship and communion with God, which gave him the strength to continue. In contrast, it was a lack of fellowship with and closeness to God that caused the children of Israel to turn to idolatry, immorality, complaining, and testing God in the wilderness. When you’re in love with Jesus Christ, you will see Him for who He is, and you will see this world for what it is. As the hymn says, “Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full at His wonderful face, and the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace.” When you maintain a loving relationship with Jesus Christ, this world will lose its appeal to you. Caleb wholeheartedly followed the Lord and wanted fellowship, intimacy, and closeness with Him. This sustained him through difficult times. It will also sustain us through difficult times. May we not be casualties in the spiritual battle. May we be strong as believers living in these last days. FROM THE HEART Let Us Make the Short Time We have Left, Count for ALL of Eternity!
