Webster’s dictionary defines “dystopia” as a “hypothetical place, society, or situation in which conditions and the quality of life are dreadful.” When I looked up the definition of the word through Microsoft Word on my PC, I saw this definition: “an imagined world or society in which people lead wretched, dehumanized, fearful lives.” The word “dystopia” perfectly describes what the United States would look like if all of Biden’s planned cuts in greenhouse gas emissions become a reality. This plan is inseparably linked with his declared socialist agenda for America. On Thursday, April 22, 2021, Biden “held a climate summit with dozens of world leaders on Thursday, where he pledged to cut America's greenhouse gas emissions in half by 2030 — with or without approval from Congress.”[i] In other words, this is the Marxist New Green Deal revitalized under the current administration now leading the United States. I have exceptionally good news for the weary, but first the bad news, which will make the good news seem all the more glorious. THE BIDEN PLAN FOR THE ENVIRONMENT Here are a few of the goals/ramifications of the Biden administration plan to deal with greenhouse gas emissions:
The price of gasoline has gone up by one dollar this year where I live and that is without the measures that Biden desires to inflect upon the U.S. The price of gasoline and diesel fuel would skyrocket with the implementation of Biden’s plan as well the cost of food, which is already rapidly climbing. The cost of heating and cooling our homes would go through the roof! In addition, these measures would wipe out farming in much of the Midwest and further destroy lines of food supply in America. Is it not utter and total foolishness to believe that cattle contribute to the climate emergency? It’s a ridiculous lie that the globalists hope we will swallow as they seek to control our diet as well as everything else in our lives. The much higher taxes, increased costs of transportation and food, the cost of switching from gas burning furnaces in our homes, and the skyrocketing costs of everything else would eliminate the middle class in America an utterly ruin the lives of poor people in the United States. With a such an outcome, everyone becomes completely dependent on a totalitarian Marxist government. A dystopia by any other name. THE BIDEN PLAN WOULD CREATE AN ECOLOGICAL DISASTER The Biden plan to cut greenhouse emissions would result in an ecological disaster. In the name of saving the planet, his policies would wreak utter havoc upon the environment. Sara Burrows wrote this about the great ecological damage that comes from mining the ingredients needed for car batteries: Lithium mining inevitably harms the soil, pollutes the air, and especially pollutes the water, according to a report by Friends of the Earth. “Like any mining process, it is invasive, it scars the landscape, destroys the water table, and pollutes the earth and local wells,” says Guillermo Gonzalez, a lithium battery expert from the University of Chile. In Tibet, it is becoming commonplace to see masses of dead fish, yaks and cows floating downstream of a lithium mine on the Liqi River. . . . And, although it’s the most abundant, lithium isn’t even the most problematic ingredient of lithium-ion batteries. Cobalt and nickel are quickly becoming the new “blood diamonds” of the Democratic Republic of Congo. Both are extremely toxic when pulled from the ground, often using child labor without protective equipment. And, to top it all off, lithium-ion batteries are not recyclable, leaving their toxic contents to leak into landfills and ground water.[iii] The windmills themselves have also become an ecological disaster because after twenty years, they wear out. The matter of disposing of worn-out parts from windmills has also become a significant problem across the world. Windmills have created a huge need for landfill space in which to dispose of them. Some experts believe that there is not enough lithium on the planet to meet Biden’s goal that two-thirds of all cars and SUVs be battery-driven. Those who proclaim that “green energy” is good for the environment either do not recognize the fallacy of such a statement or they purposely seek to deceive others regarding its significant environmental damage caused by mining the parts for car batteries and the great harm caused by windmills. In addition, windmill farms kill thousands of birds each year. THE BIDEN PLAN IS BASED ON FAULTY SCIENCE There is no climate emergency; those who claim otherwise are lying to us. I wrote a chapter in the book Lawless entitled “Who Are the Real Deniers?” In the chapter, I demonstrate that the warnings of the climate alarmists are not at all based on “settled science.” Many highly acclaimed scientists believe that the sun has more to do with the fluctuating temperatures on earth than anything else. I also discuss how active volcanoes emit much more carbon dioxide into the air than the burning of all the fossil fuels. The prognosticators of environmental doom have yet to make an accurate prediction. Why should we believe them? Why should we allow our government to devastate the poor and wipe out the middle class on the basis of forecast models that have never ever proven to be accurate? Why turn back the clock in America to the stone age on the basis of predictions that have always erred by a wide margin? Furthermore, those who warn us of impending doom and rising sea levels betray their own words by the way they live. They own multiple homes, private jets, yachts, and purchase multi-million mansions at sea level. They do not fear the rising sea levels they warn us about, why should we? IT’S ALL ABOUT CONTROLLING PEOPLE Yes, the immediate goal of the globalists and the deep state in the United States is that of a socialistic society with everyone totally dependent upon the government for their livelihood and everything else. When I worked on my chapter for Lawless, it became clearer to me than ever before that the goals of the UN’s Agenda 2030 and the Green New Deal in America would lead to total government control of everything in our lives. It’s much, much more about the redistribution of wealth and control than anything related to saving the environment. When I first started visiting the World Economic Forum (WEF) website, the prominent videos on the portrayed the goals of it “Great Reset” as a world in which the government owned everything and people rented everything, even their clothes, from the government. The sentence, “You will own nothing, and you will be happy,” is a direct quote from one such video that I watched many times. Though this video and others like it have disappeared (or perhaps they lie buried somewhere on the site), they reveal the communist agenda behind the Great Reset. Is this not communism where the government owns everything? Though COVID-19 now dominates the WEF site as the means to make the Great Reset happen, they have not at all lost site of climate change, which is now the “climate emergency,” as a means of controlling people. COVID-19 provides the needed widespread fear while the “climate emergency” provides the context for further control of our lives. In his April 28 address, Biden again emphasized the need to “build back better.” First of all, this slogan comes directly from the WEF and their proposed Great Reset. Secondly, it presupposes the destruction of existing economic structures. Everything advocated by the Biden administration fits like a glove with total control of humanity advocated by Klaus Schwab at the WEF It starts with the poison pill of socialism, which is clearly the path of the current green agenda and the Biden administration. At first, this pill goes down like a sugar-coated drug. But in the end, it leads to the deadly sickness of communism. Remember the definition of dystopia, “an imagined world or society in which people lead wretched, dehumanized, fearful lives.” This is precisely what the world will look like if the globalists have their way with resolving the so-called climate emergency while using COVID-19 injections to further regulate human behavior. THE GOOD NEWS, YES THERE IS REALLY GOOD NEWS Finally! Yes, there is really good news for those of us in Christ. In 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12, the apostle Paul describes the end result of all we see today, which will eventually include the “man of lawlessness” defiling a future Jewish temple and proclaiming himself to be God. This will happen in the midst of God pouring out His wrath on a Christ-rejecting world. “How is this good news?” you ask. The entire antichrist system that we see taking shape before our eyes cannot fully materialize until God removes the work of the Restrainer from the world (2 Thess. 2:3-8). The Restrainer is the Holy Spirit, and He is currently holding back the full expression of all the evil we see taking shape everywhere we look. His work of curtailing the great evil of the “man of lawlessness” will come to an end when Jesus removes His church from the world. In other words, Satan cannot finish his work of setting up his Marxist dystopia on the earth, with his man in charge, until after our departure from planet earth. This is exceptionally good news for us because it means our home-going is ever so close! If we are this close to the biblical prophecies regarding the tribulation coming to fruition, how much closer must we be to Jesus’ appearing, which must happen first? I believe we are very close to our great hope as Jesus described in John 14:1-3. And if we are this close to the seven-year tribulation, then we are also that much closer to Jesus’ righteous one-thousand-year reign over the nations during which time we will reign with Him. Obadiah 1:8 (The Israel BibleTM) In a recent lecture, Rabbi Isser Z Weisberg declared that era of America as we know it was finished as soon as president Joe Biden was elected. “The American dream is dead and buried. On November 3rd, 2020 the American dream took its last breath. It last was laid to rest on January 6, 2021.” “It sounds depressing but…it is actually a cause for celebration.” Rabbi Weisberg also noted that America’s “demise” took place 3,333 after God gave the nation of Israel the Ten Commandments on Mount Sinai. DOOMED FROM THE OUTSET He explains that the United States was doomed to self-destruct from the get-go. That’s because America’s foundations enabled anyone to say whatever they want and make as much money as they want has enabled “giant corporate media enterprise to brainwash half of our fellow citizens.” The rabbi also lamented the monopoly that big tech has on online information saying that America has enabled “billion-dollar corporations that control the internet to control the flow of information everybody relies on.” OBADIAH’S VISION The rabbi sees America as the modern-day Edom reminding his viewers that the “phenomena that the last manifestation of Edom will self-destruct have already been extensively developed by the great Jewish mystics centuries ago.” He adds that this was also predicted by the prophet Obadiah. “Obadiah was the chief butler in the house of the wicked king Ahab and his miserable wife Jezebel. He risked his life to save 100 prophets from certain death. At the hands of Jezebel, he was rewarded by God and given the gift of prophecy. his entire prophetic book consists of one chapter entirely about the destruction of Edom.” Rabbi Weisberg explains how ironically, Obadiah was a convert from the nation of Edom, and yet he is also the one who ultimately brings about Edom’s demise. This phenomenon is related back to his original assessment that America’s “own foundational underpinnings ended up destroying her.” He then refers to several passages from the book of Obadiah: Thus said my God concerning Edom: I will make you least among nations, You shall be most despised. (Obadiah 1:1-2) Should you nest as high as the eagle, Should your eyrie be lodged ‘mong the stars, Even from there I will pull you down declares Hashem (Obadiah 1:4) I will make the wise vanish from Edom, Understanding from Esau’s mount. (Obadiah 1:8) The rabbi makes a direct connection with this prophecy to America today calling it “tiny people with lots of money and power but no wisdom.” WHAT JEREMIAH SAID He then refers to another prophecy, this time from the Book of Jeremiah: Concerning Edom. Thus said the lord of Hosts: Is there no more wisdom in Teman? Has counsel vanished from the prudent? Has their wisdom gone stale? (Jeremiah 49:7) Rabbi Weisberg explains that Edom, who is now America, is an offshoot of Jacob’s brother Esau, who will always be at odds with the nation of Israel saying that America is the “final manifestation of the empire of Edom the progeny of Esau destined from his inception to oppose Jacob.” He backs up his assessment citing what is written about a pregnant Rebecca in Genesis 25: “Two nations are in your womb, Two separate peoples shall issue from your body; One people shall be mightier than the other, And the older shall serve the younger.” (Genesis 25:23) The struggle between Esau and Jacob could be seen in the rise of the Roman empire that destroyed the second Jewish temple he asserts. “Rome morphed into Christian civilization which brought upon the jews enormous pain and misery.” The rabbi adds that Christian civilization eventually evolved into Nazi Germany. Lamenting Washington’s apathy towards Jewish suffering during the Holocaust, he explains that although America was on “its way to greatness…it was not meant to be.” “Now the mighty force of Edom, which terrorized the world for centuries and then dominated the civilized world until today, has dissipated into nothingness.” MORE PROPHETS PREDICT EDOM’S DEMISE Comparing Washington’s demise to the Biblical city of Jericho, the rabbi said: “this great edifice which was to shine its light upon the rest of the world has sunk into the ground like the walls of Jericho never to emerge again as a force to be reckoned with.” Rabbi Weisberg compounds his assertion quoting Isaiah 34 where he prophesies about Edom: Its nobles and all its lords shall be nothing. (Isaiah 34:12) Rabbi Weisberg also notes how the prophet Daniel foresaw Edom’s demise: there was a fourth beast—fearsome, dreadful, and very powerful, with great iron teeth—that devoured and crushed, and stamped the remains with its feet. It was different from all the other beasts which had gone before it (Danial 7:7) As I looked on, Thrones were set in place, And the Ancient of Days took His seat. His garment was like white snow, And the hair of His head was like lamb’s wool. His throne was tongues of flame; Its wheels were blazing fire. (Daniel 7:9) The beast was killed as I looked on; its body was destroyed and it was consigned to the flames. (Daniel 7:11) THE COMING OF MESSIAH Rabbi Weisberg then quoted the Babylonian Talmud who predicts this very sequence of events right before the Messiah’s arrival: I received the tradition that in the generation preceding the coming of the messiah the wisdom of the academics will stink those that fear God will be despised the generation will lose its human face and truth will disappear nowhere to be found (Babylonian Talmud page 97:B) He explains that America’s demise was enabled by Republicans like former Vice President Mike Pence who refused to contest the integrity of the elections as he believed he didn’t have the constitutional authority to do so. The rabbi decried support for the decision from conservative leaders like Ben Shapiro. That’s because the left plays dirty to consolidate power while the right is caught up in “formalities” rather than focusing on outmaneuvering their counterparts. The Judeo-Christian values of the right will never win the war if they are concerned with the constitution – a document written by mortals. Instead, the rabbi suggests – “what should guide us is the will of God, who is the one who defines morality and integrity.” “Instead of focusing all our energy and following the imperfect wording of a 230-year-old man-made document, what Mike Pence should have said; was I don’t know the exact nature of my role assigned to me by the authors of the constitution, but I do know that there is a God in heaven and I have no intention of opening these envelopes when there are millions upon millions of Americans who are being ignored.” Bill Gates, China & Your DNA - The Race to Control the World's Biodata – Derrick Broze - https://www.prophecynewswatch.com/article.cfm?recent_news_id=4696 Is there a connection between China, Bill Gates, YouTube, and DNA collection? Recent reports reveal that a Chinese company with connections to the Gates Foundation is involved in COVID-19 testing and poses a potential threat to American privacy, particularly the medical and health data of those who have been tested for COVID-19. In late January, CBS' 60 Minutes reported: "60 Minutes has learned Chinese company BGI Group, the largest biotech firm in the world, offered to build COVID labs in at least six states, and U.S. intelligence officials issued warnings not to share health data with BGI. The largest biotech firm in the world wasted no time in offering to build and run COVID testing labs in Washington, contacting its governor right after the first major COVID outbreak in the U.S. occurred there. The Chinese company, the BGI Group, made the same offer to at least five other states, including New York and California, 60 Minutes has learned. This, along with other COVID testing offers by BGI, so worried Bill Evanina, then the country's top counterintelligence officer, that he authorized a rare public warning." "Foreign powers can collect, store and exploit biometric information from COVID tests" declared the notice. Evanina believes the Chinese are trying to collect Americans' DNA to win a race to control the world's biodata." Evanina said a foreign entity could learn about a person's current or future medical conditions by studying their DNA and using this information to gain a monopoly over necessary drugs and treatments. BGI Group declined to be interviewed by 60 Minutes and said the idea that Americans genomic data has been compromised by BGI is "groundless". Concerns around BGI also arose in late January when Reuters reported that more than 40 publicly available documents and research papers show BGI's links to the People's Liberation Army (PLA). Reuters said the research dealt with topics as varied as mass testing for respiratory pathogens to brain science. The Gates Foundation and BGI In March, journalist Natalie Winter of National Pulse uncovered documentation of a relationship between the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and BGI going back nearly a decade. Winter found a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Gates Foundation and BGI to "form a collaboration on global health and agricultural development with the goal of achieving common objectives in health and agricultural development." Specifically, this collaboration deals with developments in human, plant, and animal genomics, the study of DNA. In the press release for the MOU, the co-founder of BGI directly mentions the partnership as focused on genomics. "BGI looks forward to partnering with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in this significant collaboration to apply genomics research to benefit global human health," said Dr. Huanming Yang, Chairman and Co-Founder of BGI. Bill Gates also visited BGI headquarters in 2010, according to a report from the Financial Times. The Times stated that BGI "is working towards a goal of building a huge library based on the DNA of many millions of people." BGI's goal is to use this information for new drugs, genetic research, and "transforming public health policy". It would appear the COVID-19 crisis has helped BGI and the Gates Foundation step into the role of influencing and transforming international health policy. Winter's report also notes that: "the Gates Foundation has also funded BGI projects relating to genome sequencing alongside Chinese Communist Party bodies such as the Ministry of Science and Technology and Academy of Agricultural Sciences. Similarly, Dr. Tadataka Yamada, the former president of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation's global health program, serves as the Chairman of BGI's Scientific Advisory Board." It's clear that BGI Group and the Gates Foundation have a documented relationship over the last the decade. It's equally apparent that BGI Group has an extensive relationship with the Chinese military and government. It is these connections - the relationship that exists between the Chinese government, the BGI Group, and the Gates Foundation - which has sparked fears regarding the potential misuse for the COVID-19 tests manufactured by BGI. BGI and the DNA Testing Industry Since March 2020, BGI has sold millions of their COVID-19 test kits around the world, including the United States, Europe, and Australia. Reuters reports that shares of BGI Genomics Co. have doubled in the last year, giving BGI a market value of around $9 billion USD. The company is based in Shenzhen, on the coast of Guangdong, China. They have made a name for themselves by selling genetic sequencing services around the world, which has helped them to create a large database of DNA. BGI is also well known for creating a cloned pig in 2010. The company has regularly partnered with the Chinese People's Liberation Army. BGI and the PLA's Academy of Military Medical Science share a dozen patents for DNA tests. Coincidentally, Reuters notes that one patent from 2015 is for a "low-cost test kit to detect respiratory pathogens, including SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) and coronaviruses." Further, Chen Weijun, BGI's chief infectious disease expert, is listed as an inventor on the patent while also holding the title of one of the first scientists reported to have sequenced COVID-19 used samples from a military hospital in Wuhan. BGI says the test kit developed with the Chinese military is not the same one sold to foreign countries. The danger of COVID-19 tests being used as a method for gathering genomic data on the unsuspecting public is part of a larger conversation about the dangers posed by genealogy companies generally. Millions of people around the world have voluntarily submitted their DNA in exchange for information about their ancestry. The vast majority of the users of these companies, such as Ancestry and 23andMe, do not read the Terms of Service which outline how the genealogy firms can use the data. One of the ways this data is used is to sell it to biotech companies who are interested in developing new drugs and therapies. Clearly, there are governments and militaries who also have an interest in collecting this data. Evanina, the former counterintelligence officer, told 60 Minutes that Chinese companies are investing in U.S. biotech companies to gain access to the health data. He says most people do not realize that their genetic material represents "your past and your future as well as your children's future." While there are clearly reasons to be concerned about the influence of the Chinese government and what they might do with your DNA, the reality is most governments with the resources will likely seek to mine DNA as well. This absolutely includes the United States government, military, and private companies. One such company is the aforementioned 23andMe. In the January 60 Minutes report Anne Wojcicki, CEO of 23andMe, answered questions regarding her company's use of the data they are collecting. While Wojcicki says that her company has "empowered individuals with this opportunity to come together, to crowd source research", she doesn't shy away from acknowledging that her company plans to use the information to develop drugs. "And I absolutely stand behind: we are going to develop drugs. So that everyone is actually benefiting from the human genome. So absolutely the data is valuable," Wojcicki told 60 Minutes. While she says she agrees that Americans should be concerned about China's investments in genomic research, she believes the answer is for the United States to invest in genetic programs. Wojcicki and 23andMe have faced their own criticisms regarding how they use the data and whether the public can truly expect records of their DNA to be safe. In February it was announced 23andMe would become a publicly traded company with help from billionaire Richard Branson. The Guardian noted that Branson's Virgin Acquisition Group said 23andMe and their "vast proprietary dataset" of DNA would allow Virgin to "unlock revenue streams across digital health, therapeutics, and more". Branson's interest in the study of DNA resembles the interests of wannabe billionaire Jeffrey Epstein. Epstein had an obsession with funding DNA programs. Bill Gates is also a part of this web because of his relationship with Epstein and partnership with the BGI Group. TLAV's Whitney Webb recently reported: "Epstein donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to the institution and Epstein was also used as a channel for making donations to MIT by billionaire Bill Gates. Gates has yet to explain why he would funnel his donations through Epstein as opposed to publicly donating via his well-known "philanthropic" foundation. Epstein's funding of the MIT Media Lab in particular led to the resignation of its former director Joi Ito in September 2019 following Epstein's arrest and subsequent 'suicide.'" The DNA-Biosecurity-Big Tech Web What is not mentioned in the 60 Minutes piece - or anywhere else - is the fact that Anne Wojcicki, CEO of 23andMe, is the sister of Susan Wojcicki, CEO of YouTube. Additionally, Anne Wojcicki's husband until 2015 was Sergey Brin, one of the founders of Google and president of Google's parent company, Alphabet Inc, until December 2019. Google also owns YouTube. The reason these connections matter is because there are common threads between Google, the Gates Foundation, companies like 23andMe, and the Chinese government. While Anne Wojcicki and 23andMe work on DNA mining, her sister at YouTube censors reports on such topics that are often labeled misinformation. Understanding the incredible conflicts of interests here is of the utmost importance to where all of this could be going. As much as I wish I could say it’s going to get better here on earth, the Bible doesn’t back this up. Yet, for a believer in Jesus, it’s a time to get excited and a time of preparation for His calling us Home. (all emphasis mine) Starting with 1 John 2:15-17; “Do not love the world, or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world – the desires of the flesh, and the desires of the eyes, and the pride of life – is not from the Father, but is from the world. And, the world is passing away along with its desires, but who ever does the will of God abides forever.” Moving to 1 John 2:22-23; “Who is the liar, but he who denies that Jesus is Christ? This is the antichrist, he who denies the Father and the Son. No one who denies the Son has the Father. Whoever confesses the Son has the Father also.” We’re told that we must follow God’s commandments, yet exactly what are His commandments? There are people today that say we must follow the 10 Commandments that were given to Moses by God. While this would be admirable, how many people violate the fourth commandment, which states, “Keep the Sabbath Day holy”? In Matthew 22:36-40, Jesus was asked by a religious lawyer, “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law? And He said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And, a second is like it, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the law and the prophets.'” Our Savior gave these two commandments, which encompass all the ten. If we have Jesus in our hearts and follow His will, the so-called “pleasures” of this earth are meaningless compared to what lies ahead for us. As Paul said in Philippians 1:20-23, “as it is my eager expectation and hope that I will not be at all ashamed, but that with full courage now as always, Christ will be honored in my body, whether by life or death. For to me to live is Christ; and to die is gain. If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose, I cannot tell. I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better.” As stated in the past, the actual act of dying isn’t something I look forward to, but death itself does not cause me fear. We are assured that all who truly call on Jesus to be their Savior will have eternity with Him in Heaven. Our last breath taken here will find us immediately in His presence. Even better yet, His coming to call His flock – all true believers – up to meet Him in the air is closer than we can even imagine. The trumpet of God will sound, a shout from an archangel, and we’ll be in the presence of Jesus. We will have a brand-new eternal, immortal body and a mindset such as His, which will be free from temptation to sin. We are seeing definite dividing lines between the prince of this world (Satan) and our Blessed Savior. Satanic worship is out in the open as never before, and people are actually proud to call themselves disciples of Lucifer. There are even tennis shoes that have been manufactured with the claim they have a drop of human blood in the soles. While there is controversy as to the actual manufacturer, it’s said that 666 pairs have been made at a cost of over $1,000 per pair. It’s a definite “In Your Face, God” issue. The question remains, how much longer, Father, are we to endure such evil? As much as those of us who are already saved have a desire to leave here and be with Jesus, God has a desire to add as many souls as possible before He starts the 7-year wrath/tribulation (2 Peter 3:9). If He had sent Jesus for the righteous about 35 years ago, I would have been counted with the lost. It took Noah 100 years to build the Ark, but when it was done, God Himself closed the door. I believe He is giving the world a bit more time for those on the “edge” to reach out and be saved. However, the moment will come when He says, “enough already.” He will take last-minute calls for souls to be saved, just as He did the thief on the cross who accepted Jesus. Then, this world will enter the most terrible 7-year period of time ever. People today who refuse to accept the Savior are referenced in 1 Corinthians 1:18 and 2 Thessalonians 2. The word of the Lord is foolishness to them, and God will send them a strong deluding influence. They will eventually end up at the great white throne and spend eternity in hell. For the saved, it will be as Revelation 2:17 says; “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who conquers, I will give him some of the hidden manna, and I will give him a white stone with a new name written on the stone that no one knows except the one who receives it.” The “hidden manna” represents the true word that only true believers can and will understand. The white stone was added to a garland wreath that was given to victorious athletes in the first century. This was for their admission to the celebration following the games. Our “new name” represents a personal message from Jesus for each soul that arrives, and only the one receiving it will know the meaning. To conquer the lure of this world, it’s as simple as A, B, C. First, admit we’re all sinners in need of a Savior to rescue us from all the evil here. Next, believe that Jesus died for our sins and was raised on the third day to conquer sin and death for all who would receive and accept His gift. Finally, call on the name of the Lord, and you will be saved. This is found in Romans 10:9-13, and don’t add to or take away from any of the steps. God has given us His promise that all who receive and accept His Son will have an eternal home in Heaven, in a place prepared by the hand of the Savior Himself (John 14:1-3). Being a true, fair and just God, all who refuse the gift given by Jesus, one-third of the Trinity, will appear at the great white throne of Revelation 20:11-15 and receive their final sentence to the lake of fire forever. This was originally made for Satan and his fallen angels (demons), as given in Matthew 25:41. It’s up to each and every person to receive or reject the Savior. It goes beyond my comprehension that anyone would purposely choose eternal condemnation over eternal paradise. However, there are more in that category than on the straight and narrow path (Matthew 7:13-14). Today is not too early to call on Him, as tomorrow may just be too late. No matter what you have done in the past, you will be forgiven if you sincerely call on and ask Jesus to be your Savior. Then, just as Jesus said to the thief on the cross, “Today you will be with Me in paradise.” You may not leave earth today, but if you do, this promise is yours. There are many pictures of my dad and his dad and his dad’s dad with their favorite horses. Somewhere along the way, my dad and brother Chuck got into competition, mostly timed events like stake bends, barrel racing, spear the ring, pickup race, ribbon race—anything that mixed skill and speed. My part of this, at four and five years old, was just watching and maybe getting a chance to ride one of their horses as they led me around after a contest. Dad and Chuck gained quite a reputation as farm boys who had fast horses. They would go to a horse show (as we called them in Ohio) and come home with a box full of ribbons and trophies. I was probably seven years old when Dad allowed me to take a horse to a show. She was a big buckskin mare that I named Hosana. We would practice every day, loping through the barrels and stakes at break-neck speed. Well, I thought I we were going fast. In reality, we were very slow and must have looked pretty amateurish to others. But Dad and Chuck were cleaning up with Dad’s golden palomino Hollywood Hummer and Chuck’s Missouri State Champion pole bender, Ricochet. I really wanted to be like them. I kept practicing and trying, but in the end, they were very encouraging–really just humoring me. So I worked harder. By the time I was 11, I was really ready to start my horse show career. It seriously began at the Randolph Fair in Portage County, Ohio. The fair held a big horse show on the last day. First class of the day was Showmanship. Horses led by their handlers walked around the ring, come into the center and line up. The horse needed to have all four feet square, it had to be alert and attentive. The handler needed to never get between the judge and the horse, and there were certain rules about that. There were a large number of horses in the class, and on my first try in 1966, I won first place. I would go on to win first place three more years for the same class at the fair. In 1970, my black quarter horse Wimpy and I had won dozens of trophies during the year, most everywhere we went. But this Showmanship class was special to me because it would be five in a row, a record. There were over 60 horses in the class, three rows of them and it took about two hours to judge. Wimpy kept falling asleep, dropping his head. Something had to be done. I looked around to see where the judge was and with great risk, I took the end of my leather lead and smacked Wimpy on the neck. To my surprise, the smack echoed throughout the ring. I thought for sure I had lost the class, and more importantly my coveted “record.” The judge spun toward the sound, everybody was looking at me, but I was quick enough to reset and Wimpy now was pretty as a picture, ears up, alert, better than all the other horses. Being black, he had a dusty imprint where I smacked him, which I looked around again to make sure the judge didn’t see me, and I wiped it clean. In the end, my number was called for first place! What a relief. Job 39:19 asks, “Have you given the horse strength? Have you clothed his neck with thunder?” It sure sounded like it that day. The Devil said, “If you are the Son of God, tell this stone to become a loaf of bread” (Luke 4:3 NLT). But Jesus answered, “No! The Scriptures say, ‘People do not live by bread alone’” (verse 4 NLT). Then the Devil said, in effect, “Why don’t you fall down and worship me right now?” But Jesus told him, “The Scriptures say, ‘You must worship the Lord your God and serve only him’” (verse 8 NLT). Next the Devil tried to lure Jesus into jumping off the highest point of the Temple. He quoted Scripture, which he took out of context: “He will order his angels to protect and guard you. And they will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone” (verses 10–11 NLT). The Devil tried to use this verse to say that Jesus could recklessly test the Lord without consequences. But Jesus brought it back into context, saying, “The Scriptures also say, ‘You must not test the Lord your God’” (verse 12 NLT). God isn’t saying that we should go out and unnecessarily endanger our lives. What these verses from Psalm 91 are really saying is that God has a work He will do in your life. And until He is done, you are indestructible. On the other hand, you shouldn’t foolishly test the Lord. We see this illustrated in the story of the apostle Paul when he was shipwrecked. He went to warm himself at the fire, where a venomous snake fastened itself to Paul’s arm. Paul just shook it off. He wasn’t affected by the venom, because God wasn’t done with him yet.
