The things that Jesus said and did on Earth and the impact He has had on the twenty centuries that have since passed are both wonderful and amazing.
 
The reality of Jesus returning to Earth will be far beyond amazing.
 
It is not a myth. Picture the literal and physical return of Jesus Christ to Earth at the Second Coming.
 
In a way, motion picture special effects are conditioning the human mind to behold what God can and will do in actual reality.
 
There are those who do not believe that a literal and physical return of Jesus Christ is going to happen or is even possible. The looks on the faces of those unbelievers who live to see that amazing day will give a whole new meaning to that old 1960s adage called “blowing your mind.”
 
With computerized special effects, it is now quite possible to depict Jesus leading an Army of Angels out of Heaven while riding down through the Sky on a White Horse and touching down on the Mount of Olives. That would be spectacular and thrilling to watch, and yet this prophesied event will have, in actual reality, a zillion times more impact.
 
There are two main schools of thought on the event that I and many others believe precedes by at least seven years the literal, physical Second Coming of Jesus, and it is known as the Rapture of the Church. One is a pre-tribulation rapture, and the other is a post-tribulation rapture.
 
Some [post-tribulation] believe scripture teaches that the Rapture and the Second Coming of Christ are one and the same event. Others [pre-tribulation] believe that the Rapture and the Second Coming of Christ are two separate events.
 
We know that the Second Coming of Christ happens at the end of the seven-year tribulation period because scripture, especially in the book of Revelation, describes so many things during those seven years that will happen prior to Jesus’ return. The book of Revelation was revealed to John by Jesus Himself. Jesus also says that if He were to not return when He plans to at the end of the seven years, no flesh would be saved (Matthew 24:22, Mark 13:20).
 
Pre-tribulation Rapture verses include Rev. 3:10, 1 Thess. 5: 9-10, and 1 Thess. 1:10, which allude to believers being caught up to be spared from the wrath of God. Jesus is not going to subject His bride (The Church) to seven years of wrath upon an evil God-hating world.
 
The Apostle Paul describes the Rapture as something that will occur in the twinkling of an eye (1 Cor. 15:50-54). The Second Coming of Jesus Christ is described in scripture as an event that will take much longer than a mere “twinkling of an eye.” Revelation 1:7 and Revelation 19:14 are two accounts of what the Second Coming will look like.
 
Jesus compares the Rapture to the days of Noah in that no one knows the day it will happen, and many won’t believe it is even going to happen at all. Just as in the days of Noah, people will be going about their business when, suddenly, that day arrives. And like the rains came down and the Ark began to rise, the Church will go up (Matthew 24:37-39).
 
Whoever lives through the seven-year tribulation should know exactly when the Second Coming will happen because the prophet Daniel (Dan: 8) reveals the exact number of days [1,260] between the ‘abomination of desolation” committed by the Antichrist and the literal Second Coming of Christ. Jesus said that nobody knows the day or the hour of our Blessed Hope (The Rapture) and thus compares it with the days of Noah when the Flood caught people unaware. Jesus wanted us to see the parallels between the Flood and the Rapture.
 
It would hardly be like in the days of Noah if we could count down the days to the Rapture.
 
There is no reason to fear the Rapture. It will be the most wonderful thing that has ever happened to every single person who is blessed to be a part of it.
 
The very good news is that all true followers of Jesus Christ alive at the time will be raptured no matter what their position is on the timing of the Rapture.
 
Fear of the unknown, fear of the supernatural, and attachment to life on Earth as we know it can translate into fear of the Rapture. Perfect love [embodied in our Lord and Savior] casts out all fear (1 John 4:18), and so we need to trust 100% in Jesus with all of our hearts, minds, and souls. Fear not; Jesus knows exactly what He is doing and will orchestrate the Rapture in a perfectly wonderful, beautiful way.
 
It is not unnatural for a younger believer to hope for a delay in the Rapture, just as it is not unnatural for a believer who is older in years to hope the Rapture happens “the sooner, the better.” The young feel like their life on Earth has just begun, and the old are sick and tired of witnessing countless acts of wickedness and evil. Yet we are aware that if there seems to be a delay in our Savior calling us home, it is for the sake of precious souls that still can and will be saved.
 
Why is there going to be a Rapture? Because the Church (believers) is not appointed to the wrath that will be poured out in the tribulation upon a wicked Christ-rejecting and God-hating world (Rev. 3:10, 1 Thess. 5:9-10, 1Thess.1:10).
 
The Rapture will have a major effect on everyone who is left behind, and many false reasons will be given for the disappearance.
 
Two thousand years of anticipating the return of Jesus has lulled the masses to sleep. That is one of the main reasons that the Rapture will come upon us with sudden swiftness, just like the rains in the Days of Noah and the fire and brimstone in the days of Lot.
 
The Ark took about 100 years to build, and Noah continually warned those who were mocking him right up until the day arrived that God supernaturally sealed the door of the Ark and unleashed the waters of the firmament to flood the earth. It was at that moment that it became too late for the mockers, and all of the mocking stopped.
 
During the last two thousand years, Jesus has prepared a place for His true followers and, figuratively speaking, has built a different kind of Ark – one that is supernatural in nature. Only this time, it is not going to rise slowly upon the water. Rather, a rapid transformation in the twinkling of an eye will take place as Jesus receives all who love and trust Him as well as all who have died over the centuries loving and trusting Him.
 
Just like in the days of Noah, many will mock and scoff and refuse to believe such an amazing thing could actually happen.
 
People had 100 years to get on board with Noah and 2,000 years to get on board with Jesus, bound for that heavenly place He has prepared for us (John 14:3). And in that split-second when the trumpet blows and the Lord calls, we will be given new eternal, incorruptible bodies.
 
Anyone left behind after the Rapture takes place who still denies that Bible prophecy is being fulfilled will be giving a much deeper meaning to the act of denial.
 
For others left behind, The Rapture will provide proof that the Holy God of the Holy Bible really is, in fact, God and that He alone is trustworthy and in control of His creation. Witnessing His supernatural power will give many the courage to believe in Him even though their physical lives will be in peril for doing so. (Rev. 13:7).
 
Those who like to point out that the English word rapture is not in the Bible have a problem. The event known as the “Rapture” is most definitely described multiple times in the Bible, and the Hebrew wedding protocols are an amazing picture of the Rapture, including the fact that only the Father knows the day or hour that the Son will go to bring his bride to her new home.
 
Paul explains exactly what the Rapture is in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17 and 1 Corinthians 15:50-55. These words define a disappearance, a great catching away, a radical departure, to deliver, a transferring from earth to heaven. In Hebrew are the words natzal and metzal, and in Greek, those Hebrew words translate to harpazo. Harpazo in Latin becomes raptero or rapio, which translates to rapture in English. They all describe what Paul explained in the above scriptures. The words to describe it are just that. It is the event itself that matters.
 
Some long for the Rapture with all of their hearts, and some kind of welcome it with reservations. Either way, it is going to happen according to the will and the timing of our Holy God, our Heavenly Father.
 
No one can possibly imagine the wonderous life that God, through his amazing grace and mercy, has planned for those who have accepted the free gift of salvation (1 Cor. 2:9).
 
Some of those left behind will write off the Rapture as a fluke along the lines of the so-called “big bang,” or as some kind of massive alien abduction, or any number of wild theories. The evil globalist cabal will continue their work to bring the Antichrist into full power, at which time that man of sin will step up the persecution and martyrdom of those who have turned to Christ, as well as to prepare for his very vain attempt to actually fight against Jesus and His Heavenly Host upon Jesus’ return.
 
Attempting to fight against the supernatural powers of Almighty God and His Son Jesus will likely go down as the dumbest idea in the history of the world.
 
There are those who attempt to fight against God intellectually or through the medium of theology and those who will actually attempt to fight Him physically. The last battle, called Armageddon, will prove the futility of trying to fight against God at all.
 
God has complete supernatural control over all of the forces of nature, as He demonstrated many times throughout the Bible by doing amazing miraculous things that completely defy reality as we know it.
 
Those demonstrations were but tiny glimpses of His total power.
 
Most of us have seen videos on YouTube of big-wave surfers riding waves 100 feet high at a place called Nazare in Portugal, and it highlights how small humans are by comparison. These giant waves are but ripples in the bathtub to God Almighty. His supernatural power is unfathomable; it is off the charts. We have no charts to measure such power.
 
Jesus will return as a Conquering King to put an end to the reign of Antichrist and his False Prophet and their evil ways. He will put an end to those seven years that will be more horrible than ever was or will be on planet Earth. No flesh would be saved at all if He were not to return and, with supernatural power, put an end to the evil as well as the time of wrath (Matthew 24:22 and Mark 13:20).
 
The idea of human armies, marshaled by that master terrorist, Satan, for one last-ditch stand in an attempt to battle against the supernatural powers belonging to Him who spoke the universe into existence, is going to go down as the ultimate glorification of stupidity and arrogance.
 
The Second Coming of Jesus Christ will bring a welcome end to the seven-year tribulation period, also known as the 70th Week of Daniel.
 
Trust in Jesus or trust in the pseudo-intellectual ramblings and theoretical rumblings of fallen man. It will be the most important choice anyone will ever make.
 
The Rapture, the Seven-Year Tribulation Period, the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, followed by 1,000 years of peace on Earth with Jesus ruling from Jerusalem, the final banishment of Satan at the very end of the millennial kingdom, and then the creation of a new Heaven and new Earth that will last forever without a trace of evil or wickedness. Some long for it, some mock and scoff at the thought of it, some deny it could possibly happen, and some will foolishly attempt to fight and fail against Almighty God in an attempt to prevent it.
 
From Genesis to the creation of a new Heaven and Earth. This is God’s “Week of Creation,” for we know that 1,000 years is as a day to the Lord (2 Peter 3:8).
 
We are somewhere in the midst of the “birth pains” Jesus spoke of (Matthew 24:8) and nearing the very end of the first “Six Days” with only the Rapture and the Seven-year Tribulation standing between life on Earth as we know it and the last Millennium (the last day of God’s Week) when Jesus will reign from Jerusalem for 1,000 years with the redeemed lending Him a helping hand.
 
All of us who long for God’s will to be done and love, believe, and trust in Jesus need to keep looking up, for our redemption (our Blessed Hope) is drawing nigh.

It is kind of like watching a really bad Hollywood disaster movie slowly play out, except in this case billions of people could end up dead. Thanks to the endless bumbling of the Biden administration, Russia and China have been pushed into each other’s arms, and now they seem determined to confront the western powers together. For those of you that have not been paying attention, the apocalyptic alliances that we have been anticipating for years have now formed. It is going to be the U.S. and Europe on one side, and Russia and China will be on the other. All of the marbles are at stake, and both sides have plenty of nuclear weapons.
 
On Tuesday, China’s top diplomat Wang Yi publicly declared that his nation is “ready to join forces with the Russian side”…
 
The People’s Republic of China is ready to join forces with Russia to decisively stand up for national interests and promote mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas, Wang Yi, director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Communist Party of China’s Central Committee, said on Tuesday as he met with Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolay Patrushev.
 
“During a virtual meeting at the end of last year our leaders (Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin – TASS) came up with a plan for further development of bilateral relations. We are ready to join forces with the Russian side, in accordance with the high-level agreements, to decisively stand up for national interests and virtues, and promote mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas,” he said.
 
And the Wall Street Journal is reporting that plans are being made for Chinese leader Xi Jinping to travel to Moscow for a high level summit with Vladimir Putin…
 
Chinese leader Xi Jinping is preparing to visit Moscow for a summit with Russia’s president in the coming months, according to people familiar with the plan, as Vladimir Putin wages war in Ukraine and portrays himself as a standard-bearer against a U.S.-led global order.
 
Meanwhile, the Chinese are using increasingly harsh words to describe U.S. involvement in the war in Ukraine…
 
And the Chinese are now calling for the UN to investigate the destruction of the Nord Stream pipelines…
 
China has called on the United Nations to investigate the explosions on the Nord Stream gas pipelines, describing the blasts as a “deliberate act” by state actors.
 
At a UN Security Council briefing on Tuesday, Chinese ambassador Zhang Jun said China shared the position of many countries in calling for an investigation “to uncover the truth and identify those responsible”.
 
So why would China request such an investigation?
 
Because they know that we did it.
 
And we know that they know that we did it.
 
And they know that we know that they know that we did it.
 
Thanks to Seymour Hersh, the whole world now knows that the Biden administration was behind one of the greatest terror attacks in modern history.
 
Biden administration officials can lie until they are blue in the face, but the gig is up.
 
Everyone knows what really happened, and the credibility of the Biden administration has completely evaporated.
 
U.S. relations with China have been steadily deteriorating for quite some time, but the Biden administration seems absolutely determined to make them even worse.
 
Just look at how the whole “Chinese spy balloon” incident was handled.
 
The Chinese are not going to forgive, and they are definitely not going to forget.
 
So now Russia and China have decided to become best buddies, and the guy that we keep sending billions of dollars to over in Ukraine is warning that this could result in a “world war”…
 
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy warned China in a newspaper interview on Monday against supporting Russia in its war on Ukraine and said doing so would bring on a world war.
 
Zelenskiy’s comments came as China said that the United States was in no position to make demands, after the top U.S. diplomat warned his Chinese counterpart at the weekend against China providing weapons to Russia in its war in Ukraine.
 
Sadly, he is quite right about this.
 
There will be a war, and the alliances for that war have already formed.
 
Needless to say, many of our leaders are absolutely horrified that Russia and China are getting close. For example, just check out what Senator Lindsey Graham said just a few days ago…
 
Sen. Lindsey Graham on Sunday said China would be making a colossal blunder if it decides to provide lethal aid to Russia for its war with Ukraine.
 
“If you jump on the Putin train, you’re dumber than dirt,” the South Carolina Republican said of China in an interview with Martha Raddatz on ABC’s “This Week.”
 
“It would be like buying a ticket on the Titanic after you saw the movie.”
 
If our leaders were smart, they would be looking for a peaceful way out of this mess while it is still possible.
 
But instead, Joe Biden just continues to spew incoherent drivel about how it is important for us to back the war in Ukraine for as long as necessary…
 
Meanwhile, President Trump is publicly warning that “World War III has never been closer than it is right now”…
 
Trump was right on target with that statement.
 
In my entire lifetime, the United States has never been closer to an apocalyptic war than it is right now.
 
It appears that we could end up fighting Russia and China at the same time, and that sort of a nightmare scenario will not be good for any of us.

Since the late 1950s, mankind has reached for the heavens. Fulfilling an ancient aspiration, we left the ground in lighter-than-air balloons beginning in the 1800s, then achieved manned flight early in the 20th Century. A little over five decades later we were hurling objects — and men — into space itself.
 
In the 1960s the United States committed itself to achieving President Kennedy’s impossible goal of landing men on the moon and returning them safely to earth. Today, our daily lives are intertwined with satellite technology silently orbiting above our heads. But man’s conquest of space offers a telling warning to those with discernment.
 
Over the years, 6,110 rockets have launched into space carrying over 12,000 satellites. Collectively they have strewn the heavens with a debris field that is multiplying at an alarming rate. Almost 30,000 pieces of space trash larger than 4 inches are tracked by the American Space Force, but it is estimated that there are 1 million objects larger than .4 inches and over 330 million larger than .04 inches. Traveling at 24,000 mph, even the smallest of those pieces of debris could destroy a satellite or kill a crew if they impacted a spaceship.
 
How did the space near Earth become so littered? Some objects were intentionally cast off during successful missions. Some were lost by accident — as when one astronaut’s glove drifted away from him during a spacewalk. Many were the result of over 630 known catastrophic breakups, explosions, and collisions (some intentionally caused by hostile government action).
 
During crisis moments, pilots refer to what they call a “big sky”. The idea is that the odds of hitting something are relatively small given the expanse of the atmosphere around us. But such a cavalier attitude ignores the risk of meeting another aircraft or object — especially in congested areas.
 
Many people live their lives with such an attitude toward sin. What are the odds, they think, of something catastrophic happening? Like the debris orbiting the earth, many of our sins are out of sight and out of mind. But seen or unseen, recognized or ignored, our sins orbit us unceasingly — until they hit with devastating consequences. Fill a world with sinful men and women and destructive collisions are inevitable.
 
Mankind’s collective sinfulness has increased so dramatically that it’s hard to imagine how much longer our holy God can tolerate the wickedness on the earth. He has already demonstrated His willingness to deal with sin — and His intention to do so again, and with finality.
 
What is He waiting for? With sin multiplying around us, why doesn’t He just zap evildoers and impose His perfect will?
 
Peter recognized that God’s apparent slowness in exerting His judgment is a reflection of His patience, since He does “not [wish] for any to perish but for all to come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9). But, at the same time God has declared that there will come a time when His patience runs out. When that happens, sinful men and women will cry out for the mountains and the rocks to fall on them and hide them from the wrath of the Lamb (Revelation 6:16).
 
As God told Habakkuk, “the vision is yet for the appointed time; it hastens toward the goal and it will not fail. Though it tarries, wait for it; for it will certainly come, it will not delay” (Habakkuk 2:3). The destruction that swept over Israel in Habakkuk’s day will pale in comparison to the wrath of God that is poured out in the Tribulation.
 
Eventually the present heavens and earth itself will be consumed with fire on the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men (2 Peter 3:7). Unless they are covered by the blood of Christ, our sins — silent and unseen though they might be — guarantee our eventual destruction. Like the millions of bits of debris streaking through space, they will lead to the sudden and catastrophic destruction of all who reject God’s love and forgiveness. Thanks be to God, we have another option as individuals.
 
Literal rocket scientists recognize the impossibility of sweeping the heavens to remove the space trash that has accumulated over just the past 50 years.
 
Similarly, none of us is capable of eradicating our build-up of sin or mitigating the consequence it merits: death. But there is no condemnation for those who trust in Jesus Christ; all their sins are swept away.

What has gone wrong in this world? The answer is simple. “And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.” John 3:19. We can give lip-service to God all we want, but unless we die to self, take up our cross, and follow Jesus, our faith will be a secret, hidden even from God. If you love darkness and the evil therein, you can’t love God with all your heart, and soul. God told Moses, “And it shall come to pass, if ye shall hearken diligently unto my commandments which I command you this day, to love the LORD your God, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul, that I will give you the rain of your land in his due season, the first rain and the latter rain, that thou mayest gather in thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil.” Deuteronomy 11:13-14. God will bless those who love and honor Him. Is that only an Old Testament command? A scribe asked Jesus what was the first commandment of all “And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: and thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and will all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength, this is the first commandment.” Mark 12:29-30. How do we love God? We obey Him. How can we obey if we don’t study Scripture? It seems as if modern preachers are afraid to preach Scripture from Genesis through Revelation. It’s all God’s truth, but the darkness of evil in this world has made it wrong to step on toes and call sin, sin. If a preacher preaches about the literal six-day creation, that flies in the face of the lies taught by public school. If a preacher preaches that a little girl is genetically born a female, and a little boy is genetically born a male, again that flies in the face of the evil darkness that is sweeping over the land. People love darkness. Many preachers have little to do with Scripture, because if you aren’t politically correct, you lose the tax-exempt status. The almighty dollar is more important than Almighty God. If preachers preach that sexual sin is an abomination before God, then the congregation might be upset and stop putting money in the collection plate. Christians must return to Scripture. We can’t please God and please the world. It’s better to please God.
 
 The Old Testament gives many examples of God doing mighty works after His people returned to a covenant relationship with Him. Joshua led the Israelites to conquer the Promised Land, and their first battle was at Jericho. Before he led them to battle, he first led them back to a right covenant with God. During their exile in the very pagan land of Egypt, the people had picked up the pagan ways and forgotten to honor God. When Abraham was called, the covenant God made with him, and all his children, was that all males were to be circumcised. While in Egypt and wandering 40 years in the desert, the people had forgotten this covenant, and it was time to reaffirm it. It would hurt, but they had to be right with God in order to honor Him and be blessed by Him. After the men were circumcised according to God’s covenant, Joshua understood that they had to remember all that God had done for them…God brought them out of bondage in a pagan land. “And the children of Israel encamped in Gilgal, and kept the Passover on the fourteenth day of the month at even in the plains of Jericho.” Joshua 5:10. After God was put in the proper place in the Israelites hearts, He showed up. “And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our adversaries? And he said, Nay, but as captain of the host of the LORD am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my lord unto his servant? And the captain of the LORD’S host said unto Joshua, Loose thy shoe from off thy foot; for the place whereon thou standest is holy. And Joshua did so.” Joshua 5:13-15. God had led the Israelites through their wanderings, but after their hearts had been made right in the sight of God, God was made real. Joshua saw the pre-incarnate Christ.
 
 Joshua lead the Israelites in the conquest of the land which God had given them through the covenant with Abraham. When the battles were over, Joshua had words of wisdom to share with the people. “If ye forsake the LORD, and serve strange gods, then he will turn and do you hurt, and consume you after that he hath done you good. And the people said unto Joshua, Nay; but we will serve the LORD.” Joshua 24: 20-21. The people meant the words, but it wasn’t long until the time of the judges came to Israel. The recurring theme during that time was Israel following pagan ways and being less than obedient to God. God would always raise up a man, or in one case, a woman, to protect Israel. People would be obedient to God and His blessings would flow, but then they would allow the influence of pagan cultures to lead them astray. Children would be sacrificed to demon gods, and the true God of all creation would be ignored. God is always willing to forgive those who are truly repentant, and we see that pattern throughout Israel’s history. King Ahab and his evil Queen Jezebel led the Northern Kingdom of Israel to destruction. In spite of many prophetic warnings, they continued in the worship of pagan gods, and were destroyed. These gods and goddesses (real demons) required child sacrifice and sexual perversion. Do you see the parallel between the evil that is permeating our life today, and the judgments of God in the past? Even those who claim to be Christian, live with a “significant other” with no covenant of marriage. Babies are sacrificed and it's called “a mother’s right to choose”. Children are taught it’s OK to have two mommies or two daddies, with no regard to God’s truth. Gender is now erroneously taught as being a choice. We are living in a very pagan, God rejecting society and wonder why evil is so strong. Go back and read John 3:19. People love the darkness of Satan. Even though that darkness causes us to stumble, fall, and hurt ourselves.
 
 There is a pattern in Scripture showing that God is always ready and willing to forgive the sin we embrace. King Solomon built the Temple, and when it was finished it was a magnificent building to honor God. Solomon had many problems in his life, and was far from perfect. He had a weakness for pagan women. This allowed the gateway for pagan worship in Israel. God honors His promises, and a promise to King David, Solomon’s father, was that his kingdom would never end. So, God didn’t send judgment upon Solomon, but over the years, Solomon brought on his own judgment. None of his treasure, wives, or worldly pleasures brought any joy to his life. God had not forgotten Solomon, and after the Temple was built, God spoke to him and made a conditional promise. “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14. Does that promise only apply to the Jewish nation? The truth of those words is for all people. We cannot claim to be a Christian while embracing all manner of sin. As Christians we need to repent of the sin that grips our life, and serve Jesus. “No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.” Matthew 6:24. Jesus also said “And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength, this is the first commandment.” Mark 12:30. Embracing sin is not loving God, but serving mammon.
 
We must return to Scripture. It’s very obvious what happens when God is ignored and Satan is embraced. Illegitimate babies are created, then either raised by a single mother or murdered in the womb. Men have no idea about responsibility in supporting a wife and family. Drug and alcohol abuse is prevalent which increases mental illness, demon possession, and crime. Children are taught that gender is a choice and they might even really be an animal and are encouraged to be a dog if they think they are a dog. Everyone does what is right in his or her own eyes. Scripture is God’s word, and Christians need to walk away from congregations that tickle ears teach a watered-down version of Scripture. We are living in the very last of the last days. “Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, and saying Where is the promise of his coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.” 2 Peter 3:3-4. Shame on those pastors who compromise God’s word and shame on Christians who don’t study (not just read through) Scripture. The times are very evil and treacherous.
 
 The Old Testament tells of Solomon dedicating the Temple and reading God’s Law publicly so all could hear. Eventually the Temple was destroyed, but God would eventually restore it. Even though he lived in the Kingdom of Babylon, Nehemiah was heartbroken over the destruction of the Temple. The king allowed him to return to the Jewish capitol of Jerusalem to rebuild the wall of protection, then the focus turned to rebuilding the Temple. He had men working with him who loved the Lord. When it was all restored, the first celebration was the observance of Passover. After some time, the people returned to their land and stood in the street and asked Ezra to bring the book of the Law of Moses. Ezra did just that. The people were hungry to hear God’s Law as given to Moses, and had great respect for hearing it. “And he read therein before the street that was before the water gate from the morning until midday., before the men and the women, and those that could understand; and the ears of all the people were attentive unto the book of the law.” Nehemiah 8:3. We need this same heart today. A desire for God’s word and men who are not ashamed to openly declare their faith and lead others to a closer walk with Jesus.
 
 We are in a time of great sin amongst “Christians” and that’s a sad comment on our faith. God knew this time would come, but that doesn’t mean He approves. The Apostle Paul, writing under the direction of the Holy Spirit, wrote a letter to a young pastor named Timothy and encouraged Him to preach God’s truth. “Preach the word, be instant in season, and out of season, reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers having itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears from the truth and shall be turned unto fables.” 2 Timothy 4:2-4.
 
 Don’t wait for someone else to start. Be a leader and eschew the erroneous teaching of the name-and-claim-it lies, and the purpose driven mistruth, and the opinion that you can sin all you want then ask forgiveness and sin some more. Be the man, or woman, to lead a return to Scripture. Return to the pure word of God. Humble yourself before God and allow Him to rule over your life.

COVID served as a forerunner to just how governments, private industry and the media around the world can coordinate to shut down entire countries, control movement of people and suspend citizen rights using fear and intimidation. Now world leaders seem bent of taking yet another step toward the end times by promoting World War III. Russian “president” Vladimir Putin has further rattled the WWIII sabers by unilaterally suspending the nuclear arms limitations between Russia and the US, citing US support for Ukraine is a threat to Russia. Putin has been using the old Soviet-era threat of nuclear weapons as a way to advance his expansionist philosophy for years, but now it’s become critical. Everybody is jumping in.
 
Putin, in his state of the union speech, said, “The West uses Ukraine as a ram against Russia. The Western elite does not conceal their goal, which is to inflict a strategic defeat on Russia. It means to finish us forever and grow a local conflict into global opposition. This is exactly how we understand it all and we will react accordingly, because in this case we are talking about the existence of our country.” The Biblical allusion could be drawn from the ram in the end time prophecy of Daniel 8:4, “I saw the ram pushing westward, northward, and southward, so that no animal could withstand him; nor was there any that could deliver from his hand, but he did according to his will and became great.” If this is truly the apocalyptical way that Putin is viewing Ukraine, then much of his paranoia about Ukraine and the West signals danger.
 
Putin attacked Western morals, saying, “They distort historical facts and constantly attack our culture, the Russian Orthodox Church, and other traditional religions of our country. Look at what they do with their own peoples: the destruction of the family, cultural and national identity, perversion and the abuse of children are declared the norm. And priests are forced to bless same-sex marriages. As it became known, the Anglican Church plans to consider the idea of a gender-neutral God … Millions of people in the West understand they are being led to a real spiritual catastrophe. Look at what they do to their own people: the destruction of families, of cultural and national identities and the perversion that is child abuse all the way up to pedophilia, are advertised as the norm … and priests are forced to bless same-sex marriages.”
 
Meanwhile, Joe Biden is in Ukraine trying to rally the people in their bloody war with Russia. European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell said any weapons help for Russia by China would be “a red line” in the EU’s relationship with China. As if COVID wasn’t enough, leaders seem to be itching for a major conflict that will result in further erosion of human rights, pursuit of life and personal liberty. Christ said in Matthew 24:6-8, “And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.” In all this, do not fear. Pray the Lord’s will be done.

Some years ago, I was having a conversation with Pastor Chuck Smith, who has been called the father of the Jesus Movement. He was a man whom God used, someone who was willing to take a risk. And he was at the epicenter of this Great Awakening.
 
I asked Pastor Chuck if he thought we would ever see another Jesus Movement.
 
“Greg,” he said, “I’m not sure if we’re desperate enough.”
 
That was awhile ago. And I think we now may be desperate enough to start seriously praying about it. The psalmist prayed, “Won’t you revive us again, so your people can rejoice in you?” (Psalm 85:6 NLT).
 
Maybe you’re thinking, “Well, that was then. This is now.”
 
It’s our responsibility to pass our faith on to the next generation. Speaking through the prophet Joel, God said, “Tell your children about it in the years to come, and let your children tell their children. Pass the story down from generation to generation” (Joel 1:3 NLT).
 
Our prayer should be “Lord, do it again.” My generation has had its day, and now it’s time for the next generation to have their own spiritual awakening.
 
Amazingly, the Jesus Movement was not a political revolution, although some called for that (and some are calling for it today). It was not a moral revolution. It was a Jesus Revolution, as Time magazine called it. They recognized it was more than a movement.
 
The word revolution means “upheaval,” “change.” It means “turning around.” And what are we returning to? We’re returning to New Testament Christianity, to the faith the Lord gave us, practiced by the early church.
 
To his eternal credit, Pastor Chuck Smith stepped out of his comfort zone, and it was an explosive result. Today we need another spiritual awakening. We need another Jesus Revolution.
