Shadows are interesting things. They communicate a reality, yet, they themselves are not really real. They indicate the thing that is coming, yet, they are not the things themselves. - Pastor Ken Ortize (Calvary Chapel Spokane)
 
While the terrifying horsemen of the Apocalypse have not yet begun their fateful ride across our planet, they are coming, and soon. Even now we can see their shadow stretching out before them, and hear, as it were, the echoes of their galloping hoof steps long before their arrival.
 
In fact, the closer we draw to that hour, the louder the sound grows and more ominous and shadowy our surroundings become. It is not only the sound that precedes them but also the force of events their galloping causes as if it were pushing the air ahead of them much in the same way strong winds often precede a storm front pushing through. We can see the foundations beginning to take shape, which will ultimately find its fulfillment inside the 70th Week of Daniel, even in our own day.
 
God allows this pre or ante-types of echoes, to foreshadow the horror to come. Not to scare the believer, but as a warning for us that time is running out. The reason it is obvious to us, and not the world is because the world is not looking for it. Furthermore, they are incapable of understanding what is transpiring right in front of their very eyes. The convergence of the signs is for those who are watching to know the season and to see that day approaching, as the Bible instructs.
 
And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. Hebrews 10:24-25
 
Listed below, are the four events foreshadowing the coming of the four horsemen of the apocalypse (not the horsemen themselves). These are the “once in a human history” events that are setting the stage for the horsemen to ride so that when that time comes, they will need no tactical pause or delay once Christ opens their seals to unleash them. These are the things the Bible states are necessary for our age to come to its predestined end. I will list the Revelation 6 passage, and then the corresponding signs which precede them.
 
Behold, the White Horse
 
Now I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals; and I heard one of the four living creatures saying with a voice like thunder, “Come and see.” And I looked, and behold, a white horse. He who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer. Revelation 6:1-2
 
One of the biggest signs foreshadowing the fulfillment of this horse rider’s arrival is the establishment of the United Nations (UN) in 1945. Not since the Tower of Babel has mankind ever been united in a form of global governance as it is today. This might seem odd considering how polarized the world seems to be, either due to religious and/or political reasons. Nevertheless, there was, for the first time, a political body in which all nations can meet and come to air their grievances or to unite or oppose some political decision put forth by the rest of the UN or its Security Council.
 
The British, Ottoman, Holy Roman, Byzantine, Roman, Greek, Persian, Babylonian, and Egyptian empires never held sway over the world entire. And yes, at present, the UN is rather a feckless, benign governing body, however, that is ONLY because the United States is standing in its way. Once we have our superpower status removed (courtesy of the Rapture), the UN will become the global beast it was destined to become.
 
This transition away from national sovereignty was at a standstill for most of the 20th century. However, 9/11, and the subsequent “Global War on Terror,” put teeth to the global mechanism by which the world would move forward. Then, in 2008, the Obama Administration began laying the seeds of corruption and usurpation so much so, that whoever followed, had no choice but to contend with a greatly emboldened deep state apparatus bent on global government. We all witnessed the flexing of this power by the Deep State during the 2020 election coup d'état.
 
Although Donald Trump overwhelmingly won the popular vote, the Deep State desperately needed him removed. They needed him removed because he was undoing a decade’s worth of global web work which had been designed to make it impossible for our nation to remain sovereign. Trump’s removal set the stage for the inept Democrat party to assume total control and to expedite our nation’s dismantlement. Once the Rapture occurs, the debt-riddled, inept American government will collapse rather quickly, and the world will be thrown into chaos. It is at this point, the rider on the white horse (the Antichrist) appears on the world’s stage to take the reins.
 
Behold, the Red Horse
 
When He opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, “Come and see.” Another horse, fiery red, went out. And it was granted to the one who sat on it to take peace from the earth, and that people should kill one another; and there was given to him a great sword. Rev. 6:3-4
 
Perhaps one of my most favorite quotes I’ve ever used these past ten years is by an author writing about the cause of World War I. It goes like this:
 
In early 1914, though, it seemed almost impossible that Britain and France would go to war with Germany to defend Russia against Austria-Hungary over a dispute with Serbia. Yet by June 28, war moved straight from impossible to inevitable — without ever passing through improbable. Four years later, 10 million people had died. (Anatole Koletsky)
 
World War I set the stage for World War II with its impossible demands set forth by the Treaty of Versailles. This, along with the ensuing global economic depression, allowed for a man like Adolph Hitler to rise to the top. At the conclusion of the Second World War, the US drops atomic bombs on Nagasaki and Hiroshima, Japan, thus causing other nations to rush headlong into a nuclear arms race which would embroil the world for the next forty years in what we called the Cold War.
 
Since the cost of war between the two competing nuclear superpowers was too high (i.e., the US and USSR) they spent the next forty years fighting each other through proxy wars. This is the way it was until the Berlin Wall came down in 1989, and then shortly after the Soviet Union collapsing in 1991. At this point, the US remained the sole superpower on the face of the earth.
 
However, peace was short-lived. A new threat emerged and it didn’t wear a uniform but shrouded itself in a poisonous ideology masked by religious beliefs.
 
On September 11, 2001, the US suffered its greatest terror attack since Pearl Harbor (1941). It was at this point the US declared a ‘global war on terror,’ and put together a global coalition to take out these extremist leaders wherever they may be, and lay waste to their safe-havens.
 
Thus, the US would spend the next two decades entrenched in Middle East conflicts, and use the premise of preventing terrorism to pass some of the most intrusive and unethical violations of American civil liberties since WWII. Nevertheless, war was declared, not on an army or a nation, but an ideology. And a war on an ideology is a dangerous premise since those in power can redefine what ideologies or religions they deem “dangerous.”
 
Behold, the Black Horse
 
When He opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come and see.” So I looked, and behold, a black horse, and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not harm the oil and the wine.” Rev. 6:5-6
 
The death of fiat currency is the single biggest enabler for the power of the Antichrist. If the Black Horse represents economic collapse and demise, then that must come about by the death of fiat (legacy) currencies. This also means something must take its place; the rise of digital currency. Quoting from the Hal Lindsey article (see here), China’s race toward fiscal supremacy will launch the new “arms race” of the 21st century.
 
Digital currencies have been around for a while. Bitcoin is the best-known. But the digital yuan is something different. Bitcoin is a decentralized cryptocurrency, not associated with any government. The digital yuan is the beginning of a new wave of government-supported cybercurrencies that will soon encircle the world.
 
In July of this year, CNBC’s Dain Evans wrote, “China is beating the US when it comes to innovation in online money, posing challenges to the US dollar’s status as the de facto monetary reserve. Nearly 80 countries — including China and the US — are in the process of developing a CBDC, or Central Bank Digital Currency. It’s a form of money that’s regulated but exists entirely online. China has already launched its digital yuan to more than a million Chinese citizens, while the US is still largely focused on research.”
 
With the collapse of the US after the Rapture, and the subsequent financial global crisis this will induce, global cyber currencies will be realigned and potentially, absorbed into ten regional cyber currencies. At this point, some groups like the World Bank or the International Monetary Fund will assume control of managing these currencies through the aid of both artificial intelligence and quantum computing systems. Given the fact that almost every manufactured product in the world already has some form of digital ID (e.g., barcodes, QR codes, microchips, etc.), and with the introduction of the Internet of Things (IoT), controlling all buying and selling will be for the first time in human history, not only possible but inevitable.
 
Behold, the Pale Horse
 
When He opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, “Come and see.” So I looked, and behold, a pale horse. And the name of him who sat on it was Death, and Hades followed with him. And power was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, with hunger, with death, and by the beasts of the earth. Revelation 6:7-8
 
One of the biggest takeaways I have noticed throughout the last two years regarding the global response to the Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS‑CoV‑2), is not the innate desire by responsible governments to eradicate this manmade virus, but in the slavish demands of obedience it placed on their citizens. Stay home. Shut your business down. Social distance. Wear a mask. Take the shot. Take both shots. Take both shots and wear the mask. Take both shots, wear a mask, and stay home. Get the vaccine passport.
 
As previously mentioned elsewhere, perhaps COVID-19 was created with the sole intention of not just creating a new virus through illegal gain-of-function research, but for creating the global need for a vaccine passport. The premise behind this thinking is as follows: If you don’t get a passport, you cannot travel or work. You cannot buy or sell. You cannot go to school. You basically surrender your right to a normal life.
 
While this COVID-19(84) crisis is not the Fourth Seal of Revelation 6, I believe (personal opinion here) that this enforcement of these untested shots (these are not vaccines btw), may lead to a superbug scenario down the road that later plays out when the fourth horsemen ride.
 
Furthermore, the removal of the Restrainer at the Rapture (2 Thess. 2:7) does not just unleash man’s base desires, and the demonic realm from manifesting in our world in a way not seen since before Noah’s flood, but the reaction from nature itself who becomes hostile to this explosion of evil, all of which, claims the lives of nearly 1/4 of the global population.
 
Conclusion
 
Given that we are now seeing the shadows of these horsemen in our day, what does this mean for you and me? What are we to do with this information?
 
First of all, we must recognize that our time remaining, is incredibly short. Things are being condensed and compacted to the point that this convergence has been coming at us like a flood. This should promote two reactions from us: 1) Loosen our grip on the things of this world, 2) step up to become the Watchmen God has called us to be.
 
Second, knowing the time is nigh, we should have a sense of urgency and seriousness in regards to our outreach. Whether that is a ministry we run, we support, or just in the personal relationships at home and work, we must strive to present the gospel to everyone, everywhere. This is hard, especially when doing this for people who know us best.
 
Lastly, focus on what is important. What is important, are those things that are eternal. Football, movies, music, stocks, and bonds (personal wealth), careers, etc. are all fading away. All the systems we held in reverence, for so long, are fading away. Even the COVID-19 lockdowns proved that true with the complete disruption of normal life. Only what we do for Christ will last forever.
 
The only “new normal” from here on out, will be that there is no more normal life. 2020 was not as bad as it will get; 2020 was only the beginning. Each month and year from here on out will continually escalate and drive this world to the point where a one-world government is the only viable solution. This is by design. Although I believe we are to be salt and light in our communities, by joining the local school boards and standing up against the socialist encroachment, just remember the Bible forewarned us that things would get worse before they got better. And while things may start to look their bleakest, just remember the words of our Lord.
 
Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near. Luke 21:28 (emphasis mine)

In theory, Turkey is a NATO ally. In theory, also, Turkey is in negotiations with the European Union for full membership. In reality, both are illusions.
 
In September 2010, Turkish and Chinese aircraft conducted joint exercises in Turkish airspace. In 2011, the Turkish government announced plans to build a ballistic missile with a range of 2,500 kilometers.
 
In 2012, Turkey joined the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) as a dialogue partner. (Other dialogue partners were Belarus and Sri Lanka; observers were Afghanistan, India, Pakistan, Iran, and Mongolia.)
 
Since then, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has said numerous times that Ankara will abandon its quest to join the EU if it is offered full membership in the SCO.
 
In September 2013, Turkey announced that it had selected a Chinese company for the construction of its first long-range air and anti-missile defense system. After Ankara scrapped that contract, it went on to acquire the Russian-made S-400 system, which resulted in Turkey's suspension from the U.S.-led multinational consortium that builds the F-35 fifth-generation fighter jet. The S-400 controversy also triggered U.S. CAATSA sanctions against Turkey.
 
Turkey's sociopolitical distance from the West has been growing steadily. New research, by the Turkish pollsters Areda Survey, has shown that:
 
54.6% of Turks view the U.S. as the biggest security threat to their country while 51% think the biggest threat is Israel; 31.1% think it is the United Arab Emirates; and 30.7% think it is Saudi Arabia.
 
35.5% of Turks consider the U.S. unreliable; 32.8% think it is a colonialist state.
 
72.2% object to any kind of cooperation with the U.S.
 
When asked with which one of the two countries Turkey should develop its relations, 78.9% said Russia against 21.1% who defended cooperation with the U.S.
 
58.2% of Turks think that Russia is their strategic ally.
 
69.3% think that the acquisition of the Russian S-400 system was the right decision.
 
Let those statistics sink in to get a full picture of the direction Turkey is headed.
 
Turkey's self-alienation from the West and Western institutions is not unrequited. New research in Europe shows how Europeans, once enthusiastic about Turkish membership in the EU, now feel Turkey does not belong with their political culture.
 
In April, the European Council on Foreign Relations surveyed more than 17,000 people in 12 European countries. The survey found that:
 
"Turkey is the only country that more Europeans see as an adversary than a necessary partner. Given that Turkey is a NATO member - unlike China, Russia, India, and Japan, all of which Europeans consider less threatening - this finding is quite worrying. Only 25% of Europeans see Turkey as a necessary partner, and only 4% see it as an ally with shared values and interests. In Germany, 41% of respondents consider Turkey an adversary.
 
"Our survey shows that Europeans generally want a cooperative rather than a confrontational foreign policy. The idea of 'strategic partnerships' is deeply embedded in the DNA of Europeans. At the same time, Europeans understand there are aspects of their relations with Russia, China, and Turkey that make these countries rivals or even adversaries."
 
Turkey is not better perceived across the Atlantic. President Joe Biden's use of the word "genocide" on April 24 perhaps was not a game-changer in deeply problematic U.S.-Turkish relations, but it enhances Turkey's political isolation, weakens its arguments on whether a genocide did or did not occur from 1915-24, and further destabilizes whatever is left of Ankara's soft power.
 
"The American people honor all those Armenians who perished in the genocide that began 106 years ago today," President Biden said on Armenian Remembrance Day. With that statement, Biden became the first U.S. president to recognize the Armenian genocide.
 
More recently, Ambassador John Bolton, the former national security adviser to President Donald Trump, said he has joined the advisory council of the Turkish Democracy Project, a newly launched institution, "to shine a light on the darkening situation" in Turkey.
 
The Turkish Democracy Project is "a nonprofit, non-partisan, international policy organization formed in response to Turkey's recent turn away from democracy and toward authoritarianism," its website says.
 
"It's time to sound the alarm on Turkey," Bolton wrote in his Twitter announcement. He went on to describe Ankara as a one-time reliable NATO ally that has grown uncomfortably close to Russia.
 
On July 1, the U.S. added Turkey to a list of countries that are implicated in the use of child soldiers over the past year, thereby for the first time placing a NATO ally on such a list. It is a move that is likely further to complicate the already fraught ties between Ankara and Washington.
 
The U.S. State Department determined in its 2021 Trafficking in Persons Report that Turkey was providing "tangible support" to the Sultan Murad division in Syria, a faction of Syrian opposition that Ankara has long supported and a group that Washington has said recruited and used child soldiers.
 
The feeling of drifting apart between the Turks and Westerners is mutual and growing. It is an inevitable result of Turkey's top-to-bottom Islamization over the past two decades. The West now has a small Russia to deal with.

The COVID-19 virus has been an absolute disaster on all levels. In 15 months’ time, the world has spent $7 trillion on the virus, millions of businesses have been destroyed, and scores of millions of people have become addicted to lockdown handouts.
 
A month ago, I pitched my N95 mask into the trash, and I was regretting having 8 unused masks in my utility room. Now that the Delta version of the virus is infecting growing numbers of people, the mask mandate may soon be back.
 
Another mandate that has me much more concerned is the growing requirement for people to get a COVID-19 Vaccine. The Biden administration got the ball rolling by ordering all federal workers to get vaccinated or face weekly covid tests. At first, a few big tech companies joined the mandate bandwagon. Within a few days, dozens of companies are now requiring workers to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
 
The union, which represents over 220,000 postal workers, released a statement saying that while it will encourage postal workers to get vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus, it is “not the role of the federal government to mandate vaccinations for the employees we represent.”
 
Critics of the measure argue that the three vaccines currently available in the United States have not yet received full approval from the Food and Drug Administration, pending the safety and efficacy results of the ongoing phase-three trials.
 
Vaccines from Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson are currently being administered in the United States under emergency use authorization (EUA), meaning that vaccine manufacturers aren’t held liable for any injury, including death that their COVID-19 vaccine may cause.
 
Social media sites don’t want anyone to question the vaccine. Twitter’s action against political commentator Dave Rubin is an example of how these companies are now dispensing with any pretense in actively barring criticism of government policies and viewpoints.
 
Rubin was locked out under the common “misinformation” claim by Twitter. However, his tweet was an opinion based on demonstrably true facts. One can certainly disagree with the conclusion, but this is an example of core political speech being curtailed by a company with a long history of biased censorship.
 
In his tweet, Rubin stated:
 
“They want a federal vaccine mandate for vaccines, which are clearly not working as promised just weeks ago. People are getting and transmitting Covid despite vax. Plus, now they’re prepping us for booster shots. A sane society would take a pause. We do not live in a sane society.”
 
If they had been honest and forthright about the vaccines, more people would be willing to get one.
 
The ruling caste sees us as idiots, unable and unworthy to make simple decisions for ourselves. We must be guided, nudged, or intimidated, if necessary, into making the right choice. And we do not deserve explanations because the last thing our elite wants is accountability.
 
One of the biggest problems with COVID-19 is the left’s unwillingness to prevent illegal aliens from bringing the virus into the country. Fully vaccinated Canadians can’t come to America. American citizens in Mexico can’t come back unless they are tested. But in 2020, 2.3 million illegals were allowed to invade the nation.
 
When Texas Governor Greg Abbott issued an executive order that restricts the transport of infected illegal immigrants Biden has released into the general population, the Department of Justice sued the state of Texas.
 
“The Biden Administration is knowingly admitting hundreds of thousands of unauthorized migrants, many of whom the federal government knows full well have COVID-19,” Abbott said in response to the DOJ suit.
 
The third mandate to arise from the COVID-19 pandemic is the requirement to have documentation to prove you had your vaccine. NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio has officially announced plans to implement his first-in-the-US policy requiring proof of COVID vaccination in order to participate in indoor activities like dining indoors and going to the gym.
 
It would be far better that the whole nation agreed to get the vaccine than to allow our rights to be taken away from us. Once our nation turns into a full dictatorship, anti-vaxxers will get their shot at gunpoint.
 
With 4.2 billion doses having been given out, there doesn’t seem to be any large-scale side effects with the current crop of vaccines. What I’m worried about is booster shots or people who had the Johnson & Johnson vaccine taking the Pfizer shot. Oops, we lost a few million people from booster shot 3, but the other 99.9% of the population is safe from variant E, F, G, H…
 
Because all this COVID-19 nonsense is a perfect setup for the rollout of the Mark of The Beast, I don’t foresee any vaccine problems. When the 666 mark comes, people will automatically line up to receive something that will condemn them to hell.
 
“And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb” (Revelation 14:9-10).

If only George Orwell could see what we have become. Today I am writing this article in the midst of a deep state of sadness. I have to admit, I haven’t been this sad in a very long time. In fact, I don’t even know if I am going to be able to complete this article. What they are doing to this country that I love is really starting to get to me emotionally. America is supposed to be a beacon of liberty and freedom for the entire world, but now we are on the cutting edge of the global trend toward authoritarianism. I know that a lot of people have been leaving the United States in recent years in an attempt to escape the madness, but at this point we see authoritarianism on the rise just about everywhere. Just look at New Zealand. Just look at Australia. Just look at the Philippines. At one time people were fleeing to those countries, but now they have become some of the most authoritarian regimes of all.
 
I feel so frustrated because I feel like I have been banging my head against a brick wall. Over the past decade, I have written countless articles warning that we were losing our liberties and our freedoms, and very large numbers of people all over the globe read those articles.
 
But did they do any good?
 
Here are just a few examples of what I am talking about…

I warned that this day was coming, and now it is here.
 
For a while, they were content to whittle away our liberties and freedoms on the periphery, but now we are facing a full-fledged frontal assault on our most basic liberties and freedoms.
 
And what makes it even more frightening is the fact that millions of completely brain-washed Americans are cheering them on as they do it.
 
If our founders could see us today, they would be absolutely horrified at what we have become.
 
Because I am often so critical of what has happened to us, a lot of people out there assume that I must hate this country.
 
But of course that is not true at all. I deeply love America. I deeply love our history, I deeply love our traditions, and I deeply love the values that this nation is supposed to represent.
 
That is why it deeply grieves me that these things are now being ripped away from us.
 
We are the generation that is witnessing the end of America.
 
For whatever period of time the political entity known as “the United States” is allowed to continue, it won’t be “America” anymore.
 
Sure, the U.S. Constitution will still be on public display somewhere, and the politicians will still pay lip service to it. But for all practical purposes, the dream of what “America” was supposed to be will be dead.
 
Sometimes people say that we have too many complainers and not enough people taking action, but I am one of those people that did try to take action. I spent nearly an entire year of my life running for office, and me and my campaign manager traveled thousands upon thousands of miles so that we could personally talk to as many voters as possible. Everywhere I went I warned that unless emergency action was taken there wasn’t going to be a future for America. I begged, I pleaded, I delivered passionate speech after passionate speech, but in the end it wasn’t good enough.
 
Ultimately, I was beat by the very definition of a “seat filler”. The guy who beat me couldn’t be more inactive even if he suddenly turned into a door handle.
 
Why can’t we have extremely passionate politicians that have fire in their bellies?
 
Just look at what happened today. My father was in the U.S. Navy, and so to see this happen literally made me sick.
 
So why aren’t liberty-loving members of Congress speaking up about this?

Where in the world is everyone else?
 
I am so sick and tired of these “do nothing” politicians. They are standing aside as our Republic is literally being destroyed.
 
A lot of people out there still think that the changes that we are witnessing are just temporary. They think that eventually this pandemic will fade away and everything will return to “normal” somehow.
 
But what they don’t realize is that the elite will always find another excuse to move even further down the road toward authoritarianism.
 
Two decades ago, it was 9/11.
 
Then it was “the war on terror”, which has now evolved into “the war on domestic extremism”.
 
For the past couple of years, the pandemic has given them the cover that they needed to greatly accelerate their program.
 
In 2021, the federal government is working hand in hand with big corporations and the mainstream media to advance the “Big Brother” agenda. At this point things have gotten so bad that we can’t even criticize certain specific points of their agenda anymore because if we do we will immediately get censored.
 
For a long time, the Internet allowed ordinary citizens like you and me to communicate on a mass scale outside of their control.
 
But now those days are over, because they are clamping down really hard.
 
Just like in George Orwell’s novel, they want to control what we say, what we think, what we believe and what we feel.
 
Having an independent opinion is “dangerous”, and thinking for yourself is “dangerous”.
 
We have literally become a “1984 society”, and most Americans are just standing by and watching it happen.
 
And as I have been saying for years, if we stay on our current course there is no future for America.
 
Even Joe Rogan is using the word “dictatorship” to describe the direction that our country is headed.
 
Many are putting their heads in the sand and are assuming that our system will correct itself eventually.
 
But every single day, things are getting even worse.
 
If you love liberty, now is the time to stand up and say something. Time is rapidly running out, and authoritarianism is on the march.

Some Bible teachers are saying that we are well into the Revelation prophecies because COVID was like one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse. Let us not be confused concerning this. Revelation 6 describes six of the seven seals opened by the Lamb of God, each passing a judgment on earth. The White Horse is ridden by a conqueror; then a red horse symbolizing war; then a black horse of inflation; then the pale horse ridden by Death, empowered to kill with sword, hunger, death and the beasts of the earth. None of these horsemen are COVID because of the many prophecies that must take place before these final seal judgments. But COVID is certainly a type and shadow of things to come.
 
In Matthew 24, Christ prophesies of the chronology for the end of the age, beginning with verse 4, “Take heed that no man deceive you.” Summing it up, there will be false Christs; wars and rumors of wars; famines, pestilences, and earthquakes—which Christ calls the beginning of sorrows. Then there will be persecution, betrayals, false prophets; and the gospel preached in all the world. After that, the Abomination of Desolation will be seen as the beast (who many call the antichrist) will desecrate the temple. After that, there will be great tribulation, “And except those days be should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.” After that, Christ says there will be darkness, the Son of Man will come in the clouds, and at the sound of a trumpet the elect will be gathered.
 
As we look at COVID from a prophetic lens, never in history has there been a worldwide shutdown because of a disease. In addition, we can see how quickly the world can be brought under the control of political forces. Lockdowns, mask mandates, vaccine mandates, vaccine passports are all indicative of not only a great pestilence, but also of not being able to buy or sell, eat or travel without a COVID vaccine. It is eerily similar to Revelation 13:17, “And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.” What is missing is the beast. COVID is not the beast, but it certainly lays the groundwork for the beast and demonstrates how fast the beast could rise to power and mandate his worship by locking down commerce, and killing all who refuse to abide in his blasphemy.
 
These indeed are perilous times. But remember we are not given a spirit of fear, but of power, and love, and of a sound mind. Be careful to not be deceived. Bible teachers sometimes are quick to jump to conclusions based on what they think a verse means, or want it to mean, rather than taking it in context. Don’t take what I am saying or anyone else without studying it for yourself. When you compare what the prophets say about the end times with Christ’s very specific teaching in Matthew 24 and Luke 21, you will see how the events of the end will unfold. Do not be deceived. Neither fear. But gain understanding and peace that you might discern the events of our time to bring others to Christ.

I had just picked up my bag from the airport carousel and started wheeling it away when a frantic lady came chasing after me.
 
“You have my bag!” she was saying again and again.
 
I thought she was crazy. It was my bag. “Ma’am, I’m sorry,” I said to her when she caught up with me. “This is my bag.”
 
“Open it up,” she said.
 
I did. It was her bag. Our bags were identical. I mistook her bag for mine because I didn’t check the ID tag.
 
The Bible tells us that God has put his ID tag on us as believers, which says, “Property of Jesus Christ.” And that ID tag is the work of the Holy Spirit in our lives.
 
The apostle Paul wrote, “It is God who enables us, along with you, to stand firm for Christ. He has commissioned us, and he has identified us as his own by placing the Holy Spirit in our hearts as the first installment that guarantees everything he has promised us” (2 Corinthians 1:21–22 NLT).
 
Because God has put his ID tag on you and me, we’re under His protection. So, we don’t have to be afraid of what the Enemy will do. We need to be aware of it and stay alert, but we don’t have to be afraid.
 
The good news is that on the cross, Jesus defeated Satan. Yes, the Devil can still tempt you. He can still hassle you or strike at you. Even the apostle Paul talked about how he was buffeted by the Enemy (see 2 Corinthians 12:7).
 
But the Devil can never overcome you. He can never overpower you. And he can never possess you. Because you’ve put your faith in Jesus Christ. You’re under new management, and the Devil knows that.
