We can learn a lot by looking at fulfilled prophecy. At His first coming, Jesus fulfilled forty-eight specific prophecies concerning His birth, lineage, life, death, burial, and even His resurrection. Here are just some of the key Old Testament passages that accurately foretold the details of the Messiah’s first arrival in the world:
Let’s examine what this sampling of prophetic texts tells us: WORDS MATTER Perhaps I’m just stating the obvious, but it’s an important point. The fulfillment of prophecy regarding Jesus’ first coming tells us that words supremely matter when God reveals the future in Scripture. Jesus fulfilled all the details of the above sampling of prophecies just as He did with all forty-eight of them. Matthew went to great lengths to show how Christ met the specifics of what the Old Testament prophets wrote. For example, He didn’t ride a horse or just any donkey into Jerusalem, but He rode the “foal of a donkey” just Zechariah foretold (Zechariah 9:9; Matthew 21:2-5). Those familiar with my writing know that I emphasize the importance of words in the prophetic texts of the Bible that pertain to the end times. A key reason for doing so comes from the pattern we see with those pertaining to Jesus’ first coming. The Lord fulfilled the precise wording of all those texts. THE PSALMS CONTAIN PROPHECY Since the Psalms contain several references to Jesus first coming, then we should also expect to see passages there that pertain to many aspects of His Second Coming and reign over the nations. And that is precisely what we discover in the Psalms. In the introduction, I included three examples of fulfilled prophecies that come from the Psalms. I did this because many in the church today dismiss its prophetic value. They do this is by teaching that the books of the Bible such as the Psalms are simply “records of man’s experiences with God.” That’s wrong on so many levels. For one, it contradicts the words of 2 Timothy 3:16-17. Secondly, the Psalms tell us many things about Jesus’ future reign over the nations of the earth. Psalms 47-48 tells of a time when the Lord will rule over the nations of the world from a gloriously restored Jerusalem. We find this same prophecy in Zechariah 14:9-21. Psalm 2 also speaks to this time when Jesus will rule during a time when sin is still possible, which places its fulfillment during the thousand-year reign of Jesus as we see in Revelation 20:1-10. This is the only time when the words of this Psalm can come to fruition. Those who dismiss the words of the Psalms as merely records of “man’s experiences with God” not only greatly err in their assessment of Scripture, but also overlook an abundance of unfulfilled prophecies that breathe hope and joy into the everyday lives of believers. WE CAN RELY ON THE INTEGRITY OF SCRIPTURE The record of precise fulfillments of prophecy in Scripture not only provides a pattern for how we should regard texts regarding the end times, but it also confirms the integrity of the Bible. My friend Andy came to saving faith in Jesus after someone showed him how precisely Psalm 22 and other texts predicted the crucifixion and suffering of Jesus. The one hundred per cent record fulfillment of biblical prophecies verifies its integrity. Those currently watching for Jesus’ appearing are well aware of how scriptural prophecy is coming to life in world events. Sadly, many are not. I believe that after the Rapture, multitudes will come to saving faith as they witness the events of the Day of the Lord and realize the amazing accuracy of God’s Word as it tells of the future. Although it will be too late for them to avoid the consequences of living during the Tribulation, they will inherit eternal life. THE SIGN OF FULFILLED PROPHECY What do I mean by the sign of fulfilled prophecy? The record of precise fulfillment of Scriptures pertaining to Jesus’ first coming validates the multitude of signs we see today because they are based on interpreting God’s Word in the exact same way. Words mattered for all the signs of Jesus’ first coming. They matter now as we live on the shadow of the coming seven-year Tribulation. Christ’s precise fulfillment of the forty-eight specific prophecies sets the pattern for interpreting biblical references regarding the Rapture, the Tribulation, the Second Coming, God’s restoration of a glorious kingdom for Israel, Jesus; thousand-year reign, and the eternal state as described in Revelation 21. In every instance where the Bible records the fulfillment of an earlier prophecy, the outcome precisely matches what the Lord said would happen. We follow this same pattern when we examine the book of Revelation, for example, and see the current stage-setting for what it reveals about the future. Why would God provide a multitude of examples where He literally fulfills His Word if He did not intend for us to take His predictions concerning our glorious future in the same way? I cannot emphasize this enough: Words always matter when God’s Word reveals the future to us. Always! The pattern of how the Bible records the outcome of its prophecies is like an a gigantic billboard pointing the way for us. Those who turn off the road to pursue symbolical interpretations of Scripture not only deceive themselves, but also lead a great many astray. So this Christmas season as you read and contemplate the stories of Jesus’ birth, take a few moments to revel in the hope they provide for you. The keeping of biblical promises regarding His entrance into the world is more than a little significant. It tells us we can count on the Lord to keep His Word to us. He is coming back, just as He said, to take us to the place He’s preparing for us (John 14:1-3). Maranatha!! General Assembly attempted to dictate to Israel that it needed to give up its nuclear weapons in a lopsided 149-6 vote. The resolution, put forward by the Palestinian Authority, said that Israel must "not to develop, produce, test or otherwise acquire nuclear weapons" and to "renounce possession of nuclear weapons." There were 20 other nations that put forward this resolution, including alleged allies of Israel: Egypt, Jordan, Bahrain, Morocco, Sudan and the United Arab Emirates. The only nations to vote against the resolution were Canada, Israel, Micronesia, Palau and the United States. Liberia would end up changing its position and vote against the resolution. While Israel has never threatened a nation with a nuclear attack, nor have they ever even acknowledged that they have nuclear warheads, it is simply assumed that they do. Iran was not mentioned once within the resolution, even though it threatens Israel and the United States with destruction regularly. As reported by ALL ISRAEL NEWS, this vote comes on the heels of another anti-Israel vote that commemorated the founding of "Nakba Day—"nakba" is the Arabic word for "disaster," or "catastrophe." In spite of all the hatred and violence targeted for Israel, there is reassurance in the fact that God will protect His people. Israel will not be wiped off the earth despite the constant threat from anti-Semitic countries. But the attacks will continue, and the people of Israel are in need of the prayers of their Christian brethren. Lift up the nation of Israel to the Lord, for as God said to Abraham in Genesis 12, "I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth will be blessed." The following directive from Heaven should beat profoundly at the spiritual heart of every Christian who views God’s prophetic Word from the perspective of truth it presents: Jesus Christ will call all believers to Himself before the last seven years of human history leading to the Second Advent of Christ begin. Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. (Hebrews 10: 25) That “day “we see “approaching” is wrapped up in Paul’s joyous foretelling of the moment of great expectation that’s there for every person who trusts in Jesus Christ for Salvation: For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 4:Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. (1 Thessalonians 4: 16–17) Paul tells us further: Wherefore comfort one another with these words. (1 Thessalonians 4:18) This magnificent promise from our God is meant to bring great anticipation and relief from anxiety about the darkening times as we look for our “blessed hope,” as exhorted in Titus 2: 13: Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ. The Scripture telling us to not forsake assembling together as we see the day of Rapture approaching (Hebrews 10:25) has most always been taught as referring to gathering in church-house assemblies. And church attendance in that sense is important, to be sure. But the words of Hebrews 10:25 are perhaps most relevant to the anticipation of our going to be with Jesus when He shouts with the sound of a trumpet and the voice of the archangel: “Come up here!” We are to gather our senses as one body in looking at all we see taking place around us when that moment of Rapture is upon us. My own spiritual impression—and the message of agreement I’m getting from others—is that those who are truly attuned to these times of signs are being gathered in our spirits at this very moment. We sense with all that is within us that our Lord is about to shout those words of the Harpazo we earnestly long to hear. It is God the Holy Spirit Himself who is giving us a heavenly heads-up. Our work here on earth as royal ambassadors is nearly done. And while the world continues to move in wickedness farther and farther from God and His divine order for humankind, believers who truly understand these times sense a calming comfort that brings peace to our spirits. I hope you’re sensing that calm and comfort, or at least are beginning to. In regard to our gathering and being comforted by a growing embrace of peace in these last of the last days, I’m deeply impressed to introduce you to a venue I believe God has brought on the scene specifically for sharing the peace, comfort, and even joy of this prophetic hour. I want no one to think for one second that I hold any person up as one we should look to for new enlightenment, as do the guru worshippers. Jesus, the Living Word, is our only Hope–our Savior –our God. However, when God directs us to ministries that display extraordinary devotion to His truth, I gladly lift them up for all to see. This is the first time I believe I’ve done so—at least to this degree of recommendation. Well, they would either be used for other purposes or they would be discarded in the trash. In addition to getting “perfect babies” every time, there would also no longer be any need for the pain of childbirth in such a system… While the video is focused on improving birth rates, it also notes that the birthing farm is for women who fear pregnancy because of the pain and recovery needed after going into labor. ‘Say goodbye to the pain of childbirth and muscle contractions,’ the video narrator says. Of course the elite would not want such “perfect children” to be ruined by “misinformation” as they grow older, and so everything that they would be exposed to would be strictly monitored and controlled. Sadly, such a system of thought control has already been rapidly developing all around us. We already knew that big tech companies were colluding with the government on a very deep level to suppress free speech, but the “Twitter Files” have demonstrated that things were actually far worse than any of us imagined. Government officials systematically targeted specific individuals and specific viewpoints for censorship, and in many cases big tech companies were more than eager to do what they were being asked to do. It is NOT okay for the government to suppress free speech as long as they can get private companies to do the dirty work for them. Our most basic constitutional rights have been trampled on over and over again, and those that were involved need to be held accountable. And if we don’t stand up now, they will just keep on doing it. Because this is what the elite desperately want. They want a future in which the flow of information is tightly controlled by them. If you are a rebel that insists on putting out “misinformation”, the elite envision a system in which such miscreants are dealt with quickly and efficiently. Today, the elite do not have direct control over our finances. But in a future where cash is banned and we are all forced to use their digital currencies, that would all change. Everything that we buy and sell would be tracked, and our “currency privileges” could be revoked at any time if our social credit scores drop too low. Of course government-controlled digital currencies are not ready for widespread use yet, but they are coming. In fact, just this week we learned that the Bank of England “has begun consultations on implementing a Central Bank Digital Currency”… The de facto head of His Majesty’s Treasury announced this week that the Bank of England has begun consultations on implementing a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) that could usher in the globalist vision of a cashless society in which all transactions are traceable by the government. Chancellor of the Exchequer Jeremy Hunt revealed that, as a part of his ‘Edinburgh Reforms’ of Britain’s financial services, the Bank of England will begin consultations on the design of a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) which would act as a digital version of the pound sterling. Meanwhile, the EU has also been working on a new “digital euro”. And the Federal Reserve is now testing a new “digital dollar” for the United States. Do you think that it is just a coincidence that all of these digital currencies are being developed simultaneously? The truth is that the elite are actively trying to create the dystopian version of the future that they envision for all of us. Unfortunately, most people still do not understand what they are trying to do, and so it is imperative for all of us to try to wake up as many as we can while there is still time. Why on earth are we spending all this time and money on investigations? Why not charge the perpetrators of the crimes with what you believe they have done, present the evidence (which I might add is everywhere and documented without Congressional investigation) in the courts, indict these criminals, try them, and punish them if they are found guilty? We know that Hunter Biden has broken the law. Charge him and let the courts decide. We know that Joe Biden was part of an influence peddling scheme among a whole bunch of other illegal deeds. Charge him and let the courts decide. We know that Congressman Adam Schiff (D-CA) and other elected Democrats and some Republicans have wasted taxpayer dollars in their attempt to defraud the American people over January 6 “investigations.” Charge them and let the courts decide. All this political show boating and demagoguery isn’t necessary. On one side, these politicians are bending their investigations to create political favor. Others are trying to make it look like they are doing something and spreading false hope that the crooks we keep putting in office will have their day of justice. Well, they will. It’s called Judgement Day. Revelation 20:11-15 says, “And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away: and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” As is written in Philippians 2:12, “Wherefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.” Maybe they should investigate that. A carpenter by trade, Joseph was a hardworking guy, the kind who chops down trees, frames houses, and builds tables. Not only was Joseph a good father figure for Jesus, but he also stood bravely with Mary. Initially, when Mary told him the angel Gabriel had appeared to her and announced that she would be the mother of the Messiah, he didn’t buy it. Knowing that Mary was a godly person, he decided to put her away privately. He wasn’t going to expose her. However, his heart was broken because he loved Mary. Then an angel also appeared to Joseph. Matthew’s gospel tells us, “But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, ‘Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit’” (1:20 NKJV). Joseph could have simply said, “No, thank you, because no one will believe this”; instead, he eventually decided to go through life with people believing that his wife had gotten pregnant out of wedlock. And Mary went through life with the reputation of being a loose woman. In fact, we read that on one occasion, the Pharisees said to Jesus, “We were not born of fornication; we have one Father—God” (John 8:41 NKJV). They were effectively saying, “At least, we weren’t born out of wedlock.” Those were fighting words. Yet Mary was fulfilling prophecy, and she obeyed God. And Joseph was willing to do the same. Has God called you to take a step out of your comfort zone and do something unexpected? Follow the examples of Mary and Joseph, whom God used to change the world.
