Those of us eagerly awaiting Jesus’ appearing did not expect to see so many signs of the coming kingdom of the antichrist before going home to be with our Savior. We never anticipated seeing so much vile wickedness and demonic deception before the Rapture. For that matter, I assumed that the Lord would severely judge America long before now. “With such failed expectations,” one might ask, “why do I believe Jesus will soon appear to take us home? Why do I remain convinced that we live in the season of His return for His church?” It’s because the world is so very close to the fulfillment of Revelation 6:1-8, and Scripture assures us that we will be with Jesus in heaven before these riders begin their deadly trek across planet earth. Can you guess who wrote the following (without peeking ahead)? “I have heard the distant sound of hoofbeats. I have seen the evil riders on the horizons of our lives. I am still an evangelist whose one goal is to proclaim new life in Christ, but there is serious trouble ahead for our world, for all of us who live in it, and in the four horsemen of the Apocalypse there is both a warning and wisdom for those troubled days ahead.”[i] If these things were true back in 1983 when Billy Graham penned these words, how much more so today? How near must we be to Jesus’ appearing? What sounds do we here today that point to the nearness of the Lord opening the seal judgments of Revelation 6? THE CLAMOR OF THE NEW WORLD ORDER ON OUR DOORSTEP Revelation 6:1-2 tells us about the first seal, the first rider: Now I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals; and I heard one of the four living creatures saying with a voice like thunder, “Come and see.” And I looked, and behold, a white horse. He who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer. Many, including me, believe these verses refer to the antichrist bringing the world together under his rule. The absence of an arrow in the bow points to that absence of force, although he will gather an impressive arsenal of weapons during his campaign. 2 Thessalonians 2:1-8 assures us that the Rapture will happen before this “man of lawlessness” makes his presence known on the world scene. However, we already see the formation this coming New World Order through the UN and the World Economic Forum (WEF). Without firing a shot, they have gained the allegiance of most world leaders for their Marxist plans to enslave the people of the world. The globalists no longer hide their intentions. President Biden recently asserted his allegiance the New World Order. Klaus Schwab, the head of the WEF, recently asked the 2,600 delegates to his annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland, to work aggressively to bring about the communistic, totalitarian agenda advocated by him as well as those in attendance. He opened the meeting by saying that “the future is not just happening; the future is built by us, by a powerful community, as you here in this room.” In other words, the globalists believe they have the means to reshape the world according to their agenda via the influence they have gained over the global leaders of our day. Can you hear the sound of the first horse getting ready to ride? THE SABER RATTLING OF NUCLEAR WAR The second rider is that of war as John describes in Revelation 6:4-5: When He opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, “Come and see.” Another horse, fiery red, went out. And it was granted to the one who sat on it to take peace from the earth, and that people should kill one another; and there was given to him a great sword. I’m old enough to remember the Cuban Missile Crisis in the early 1960’s. I did not fully understand what was happening at the time, but I sensed the fear. At school, we had drills in which we would hide under our desks (as if that would help in a nuclear conflict). I believe the threat today is at least equal to that time if not far greater, but the mainstream media is diverting our attention away from the current and present danger to matters such as pride month and the January 6 hearings. Those who are truly awake today clearly see these looming threats to world peace:
When we put these threats together with the words of Revelation 6:8 that tell us war will play a part in killing a fourth of the world’s population, it seems likely that perhaps one or more of these threats will happen. Do these dangers not beg the question regarding the nearness of Rapture? Could the saber rattling of Russia, China, and North Korea be the sound of the second horse getting ready to ride? THE VOICES PREDICTING ECONOMIC DEVASTATION BY THE END OF 2022 The words of Revelation 6:5-6 point to economic devastation: When He opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come and see.” So I looked, and behold, a black horse, and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not harm the oil and the wine.” If you think that the world is not on the brink of the conditions described in these verses, you are not paying attention. We are frightfully close! In the U.S., the reported inflation rate for May was 8.6%, which is the highest in forty years. For most people, however, the cost of living is accelerating much, much faster than that. President Biden recently assured us that this high rate of inflation in the U.S. will continue for the foreseeable future. The voices warning of devastating world food shortages by the end of 2022 are far too many to ignore. Goya Foods CEO Bob Unanue recently told Fox News that the world is on the brink of a food crisis. "We are on the precipice of a global food crisis," he told Maria Bartiromo.[ii] JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon recently warned about a coming “economic hurricane.” He also added this: “It’s a hurricane. Right now, it’s kind of sunny, things are doing fine, everyone thinks the Fed can handle this . . . . That hurricane is right out there, down the road, coming our way. We just don’t know if it’s a minor one or Superstorm Sandy or Andrew or something like that. You better brace yourself.”[iii] Rockefeller Foundation president Rajiv Shah described what is soon to unfold as a “massive, immediate food crisis that will strike the entire world, leaving no country untouched.”[iv] I have lost count of the many food processing plants that have gone up in flames during the past twelve months. Why are so many shepherds of our day ignoring the numerous warnings regarding the food catastrophe that’s rapidly approaching? Do they not hear the sound of approaching hoofbeats? THE UNHEEDED WARNINGS OF A GLOBAL HOLOCAUST The result of all these approaching horrors will be a death count higher than anything the world has seen since the Genesis 6 flood. Revelation 6:7-8 describes what the world will experience when Jesus opens the fourth seal: When He opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, “Come and see.” So I looked, and behold, a pale horse. And the name of him who sat on it was Death, and Hades followed with him. And power was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, with hunger, with death, and by the beasts of the earth. Right now, one-fourth of the world’s population would be almost two billion people, and that’s just at the beginning of tribulation woes. A nuclear conflict could possibly kill hundreds of millions and this threat looms as distinct possibility in the near future. It’s also easy to see how the coming food crises could kill a vast number of people. Africa would likely suffer the most at first, but as the contrived food crisis expands, western nations will soon see the death toll skyrocket. Those pushing the U.S. Green New Deal and the UN’s Agenda 2030 warn that we will feel pain as the world transitions away from fossil fuels. This most certainly will include mass starvation as green energy will not suffice to meet the needs of the world’s population. It cannot even come close. The death toll from the COVID-19 “vaccines” is staggering with many predicting it will get far worse in the months to come. As the number of worldwide abortions approaches 1.7 billion since 1980, it’s possible that the death toll during the seal judgments of Revelation 6 will equal the number of abortions in the modern era. When one adds the number of abortions before 1980 and subtracts those missing because of the Rapture, the number of seal judgment deaths may be remarkably close to the abortion toll. GOD IS SOVEREIGN While it may seem that human actors cause the devastation of the first four seals, we must remember that God is Sovereign over all the affairs of mankind. It’s the Lord who opens the seals and allows the destruction that follows. Numerous Old Testament prophets warned of these coming judgments under the heading of “the Day of the Lord.” The book of Revelation adds details to what God has warned about down through the centuries. There will be a time when God’s patience ends and the words of Psalm 75:8 come to pass. THE TRUMPET SOUND IS EVER SO CLOSE While there are many other signs telling us that Jesus’ appearing is ever so close, I always come back to the four riders of Revelation 6 whenever I start to wonder if it will happen anytime soon. It’s only God’s amazing patience that has kept the horsemen of Revelation 6 in their stalls during the four decades since Billy Graham wrote Approaching Hoofbeats. How much longer will the Lord wait before He catches us up in the air and later opens the seals? Will the Rapture happen in my lifetime? I cannot say; but given the nearness of the coming time of tribulation, I certainly believe it’s a valid and reasonable hope even as I approach seventy years of age. Even though my hearing has diminished some with age, I hear the sounds of approaching hoofbeats on the pavement. But what I anticipate next is the sound of the trumpet and my departure from earth to the place that Jesus is preparing for me and for all those who know Him as their Savior. Nearing Midnight: Tokenism Now Runs Washington – Todd Strandberg - https://www.raptureready.com/category/nearing-midnight/ Tokenism: The practice of making only a perfunctory or symbolic effort to do a particular thing, especially by recruiting a small number of people from underrepresented groups in order to give the appearance of sexual or racial equality. When the Biden Administration took over from the Trump administration, dozens of African Americans were hired. A year and a half later, 21 of them quit their jobs because they were never given anything to do. They were token employees whose only job was to sit there and be black. In most career fields, a company or organization will seek out people who are best qualified for a job. Time and time again, Biden has publicly stated he is going to hire a woman or minority for a position. If you are a white male and very qualified for a job, you are more likely to be passed over by someone who is less skilled than you. President Biden nominated Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to become the 116th Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court because he said he was going to select a black woman. Jackson was a bit shaky as she spoke before the Senate. Since it was a race and gender matter, the Senate had no real options in judging if she was actually qualified for the job. Their duty was to vote for another token milestone. Pete Buttigieg was likely selected to be Secretary of Transportation because he is a homosexual. My problem with him is that he chose to take 12 weeks of paid parental leave right in the middle of a crippling supply-chain crisis. Cabinet secretaries do not qualify for paid parental leave. President Biden allowed Buttigieg to take time off obviously because it was the politically correct thing to do. We now have a new press secretary at the White House. Karine Jean-Pierre clearly got the job because of tokenism. She is black, an immigrant, and a lesbian. Karine has very poor communication skills. When speaking to the press about her own bio, she read from a card. When the press asks her questions, she turns to pre-selected statements that often barely match the question. The strangest moment in Jean-Pierre’s tenure came when the boy band BTS appeared at the podium with her. Only one member of the band spoke English, and he said, “Hi, we’re BTS, and it is a great honor to be invited to the White House today to discuss the important issues of anti-Asian hate crimes, Asian inclusion and diversity.” I think it’s incredibly insulting to Asian-Americans to have a boy band represent the issue of hate crime. Ten years from now, the vast majority of people won’t even know who BTS was. If anti-Asian hate crimes are resolved, it won’t be because of the 2022 BTS/White House summit. It’s too bad Jeffrey Dahmer was killed by one of his cellmates. He would make a great member of the Biden administration. Joe could give Jeffery a presidential pardon and appoint him to a cabinet position. He would be the first gay serial killer and cannibal in history. Consumer price inflation is currently at 8.3% — the metric’s highest level in four decades. Gas prices are soaring past $4.75 per gallon — with no end in sight. Yet Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen found time to raise the rainbow flag. “For the first time in our history, Treasury is displaying the Pride Flag to express our solidarity with LGBTQ+ Americans during Pride Month,” Yellen announced last week, adding that her department “remains committed to diversity, equity, and equal opportunity for all.” There is nothing positive about diversity. Many people claim that America’s racial diversity makes our nation great. We fault a civil war over race. America is great despite its racial diversity. The Indian subcontinent has all types of religious diversity, and millions of people have died from wars over religion. Tokenism really shows that our leaders don’t care at all about the difference that divides us. To have the President putting people into various offices based on their sexuality, race or gender shows that he doesn’t think they are capable of achieving ranks based on their own skills. Once white males realize that they are being unfairly discriminated against by tokenism, they will rebel, and we’re back to the days of Jim Crow. One of the glorious things about heaven is that there is no diversity. We will all be primarily seen as children of God. “After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, ‘Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!'” (Revelation 7:9-10 ESV). Pride: The Sin at the Root of Pride Month – By Ken Ham - https://harbingersdaily.com/pride-the-sin-at-the-root-of-pride-month/ In a recent address commemorating “Pride Month” (the month-long celebration in June of all things LGBTQ), President Joe Biden revealed that nearly 14% (about 210) of his “1,500 federal agency appointees identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer.” This is just one example of the frenzied celebration of all manner of sexual perversions as individuals, corporations, organizations, and, sadly, even some “Christian” groups trip over themselves trying to be the most enthusiastic in their LGBTQ activism. But what are they really celebrating? Obviously, on the surface, they are celebrating sexuality identities and sexual diversity—really, what the Bible calls lust and perversion of God’s original design. But that’s not ultimately what those waving rainbow flags in a Pride parade are really celebrating. Their celebration is reveling in the sin at the root of sexual perversions and a myriad of other sins—pride! Pride is the quintessential human sin—we think we can be our own gods (Genesis 3:5) and do whatever is right in our own eyes (Judges 21:25). It doesn’t matter what our Creator—who designed us, knows what’s best for us, loves us, and died for us—says. To the proud heart, what matters is simply what we want—what sinful, fallible human beings who don’t know everything, are in rebellion against God, and have depraved minds and desires— want. Pride always leads to more sin as we arrogantly think more of ourselves and less of God and his revealed Word. It’s really people shaking their fist at God to declare they are autonomous and can do whatever they want. But . . . The Bible spills much ink warning against pride. Our culture, and those “Christians” who want to join in celebrating sin, would do well to heed the warnings in the Word of God: Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. (Proverbs 16:18) But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” (James 4:6) Everyone who is arrogant in heart is an abomination to the Lord; be assured, he will not go unpunished. (Proverbs 16:5) The fear of the Lord is hatred of evil. Pride and arrogance and the way of evil and perverted speech I hate. (Proverbs 8:13) The pride of your heart has deceived you, you who live in the clefts of the rock, in your lofty dwelling, who say in your heart, “Who will bring me down to the ground?” (Obadiah 1:3) The haughty looks of man shall be brought low, and the lofty pride of men shall be humbled, and the Lord alone will be exalted in that day. (Isaiah 2:11) Love is . . . not proud. (1 Corinthians 13:4) According to James 4:6, God is actively opposing those proudly waving colorful banners and chanting “love is love.” That should strike fear in the hearts of those who have not repented and trusted in Christ, “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God” (Hebrews 10:31). But James 4:6 continues, “[God] gives grace to the humble.” There’s grace, freely available, for all who will humble themselves, turn from their sin, and trust in Christ alone for salvation. You see, Jesus died in our place, taking God’s just wrath against sin for us, and freely offers forgiveness and eternal life to proud sinners of all kinds: “but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). Deepest Darkness to Blinding Brilliance - By Gary W. We who live in America and are part of western civilization have been so blessed and – frankly – have lives that are generally free from true hardship, that we take for granted all that God has given us. What amazes me is that despite this, our culture is growing exceedingly dark because we’ve turned from God’s generous mercy. In doing this, we create our own sufferings. God’s template for us is simple: Trust in and obey Him. When we do this, He blesses us because He loves to give good gifts to those who become His beloved children. When we reject the sacrificial gift of Jesus Christ and the salvation He brings, we open up a whole can of serpents. Rather than living lives that cause God’s face to shine upon us and which curry God’s favor, more and more people turn away because they want to do life their way. Of course, this isn’t new. It began in the Garden and carries to this very day. The extent of our rebellion varies, but between the sin in our souls, the lure of the world, and the thrusting knife of Satan who wishes to twist our loyalties and priorities toward his, many people think it’s a good idea to build their own tower of Babel in the hope of controlling their individual destinies. This is why we see the fulfillment of 2 Timothy 3:1-9 all around us: “But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, slanderers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to a form of godliness although they have denied its power; avoid such people as these. For among them are those who slip into households and captivate weak women weighed down with sins, led on by various impulses, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. “Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, men of depraved mind, worthless in regard to the faith. But they will not make further progress; for their foolishness will be obvious to all, just as was that also of Jannes and Jambres.” Yet, knowing this is the human condition, these last days sins are simply a continuation of those which have been with us since the beginning. They can lead to extremely dark places. It’s not hard to see someone in the grip of these nineteen iniquities. Cain certainly qualifies with the murder of his brother Abel. Let’s pick a couple of these characteristics with which to label him: ungrateful, without self-control, brutal, holding to a form of godliness. There are others that surely led to his rash act, which had such extreme consequences. Do you think, based on the believing loyalty God required in Old Testament times, that Cain made it to heaven? Only if he truly repented, which I don’t know that we see in the Biblical text. Another intriguing situation centers upon the two thieves crucified alongside Jesus. The text indicates that initially, both cursed Him. But then, something happened to the one. John MacArthur, in his Study Bible Notes for Mark’s Gospel, indicates that these men probably had committed worse crimes than thievery. Theft wasn’t a capital punishment per the Roman laws. It’s likely that these two may have been fellow murderers along with Barabbas. Perhaps if things had turned out differently, Barabbas would have been one of the three crucified on Calvary that day with Jesus going free. That wasn’t God’s plan, so Jesus was placed between these two desperately wicked men. Initially, they showed their true colors in their curses. What happened? What changed for the one? Close to death, the one man’s sins flooded over him. From our above list, he could have exhibited the following: arrogant, disobedient to parents, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, conceited, led on by various impulses. Take your pick. He saw the extent of his evil life. The Holy Spirit convicted him of his eternal destiny. In an act that only God could do, this man acknowledged his transgressions, believed in Jesus as the Son of God, and called out to Him for salvation. In His great mercy, the Lord granted this murderous thief what only He could. God gave him paradise rather than hell. He was transported immediately from the deepest darkness of Satan’s pit of despair to blinding brilliance in the presence of God. In an act of supreme irony, this man’s crucifixion – the worst thing that ever happened to him – turned out to be the most wonderful. How’s that for what God can do? He didn’t need to go through twelve steps for reconciliation. He didn’t have to be baptized. All he did was repent, ask for God’s mercy, place his confidence in Christ, and it was granted. Many people today have a past that is every bit as despicable as this man on the cross. Some have partaken of Satan’s blood and caroused with demons. It doesn’t matter. If such a person is truly repentant and asks God for the return of his soul, He will grant it. The question we have to ask is: How might that which is horrible in our life benefit us just like the one who hung there beside Jesus? What’s incredibly important for a person like this – and really for every single one of us regardless of our past – is that upon receiving God’s grace in our lives, we become obedient to His commands. It is only through our obeying what the Lord tells us to do that we demonstrate our true conversion. When we stop rebelling and follow hard after God, what a difference that makes! It opens up the pathways for Him to bless us. Do you think God will pour out His favor and blessings upon the disobedient? Yes, rain falls on the just and unjust, but God’s favor is something else entirely. When we trust in Him, it likely causes a big smile to crease God’s face. He can point to us and say, “That’s My child!” Just like with Job, when we show our believing loyalty through obeying Him, it doesn’t matter what comes our way; God will see us through it. More than that, we will realize untold blessings. They may not be of the physical variety that God blessed Job with in the second half of his life – I’m not talking about prosperity as it’s been corrupted these days. No, we have the Lord’s promise of eternal glory in His presence. Before then, while we’re still here in this life, He may pour out wealth of some kind upon us or the healing of our infirmities, but that isn’t at all the objective. Our eyes should be upon Jesus. When they are, He will do what He’ll do for us in this natural realm. But this isn’t our home. Who cares about riches that corrupt and moths destroy, or even this physical body? What should be our prayer? Lord, Thy will be done! Through which you are to (Romans 12:21) “be not overcome of evil, overcome evil with good.” We are not to behave as children (Ephesians 4:14) “tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive.” Bad doctrine is no excuse for inaction. Doing nothing because you are waiting for the rapture; thinking you are responsible for ushering in the return of Christ; believing that the kingdom of Christ is already established and you are ruling with Christ; believing conspiracy theories that make you think all is well because some group of people are taking care of the bad guys; just plain using the excuse for inaction based on the cliché that God is in control—all these are examples of bad doctrine, the devil’s design for inaction. Know your Bible in its context. Read Ephesians 6:11-20 and put on that armor because we are in a fight. The Great Reset, wars, rumors of wars, pestilences, and famines are happening at such a pace, that we may well be in what Christ described as the beginning of sorrows. We have a job to do, and it’s not sitting on our hands. Christ said in Matthew 24:36 of the day of the Lord, “But of that day and hour, no man, not even the angels in heaven know, but my Father only.” And when Christ does return, it is by His action that the world is judged and set right so that all know He is Lord. We are, as Christ taught in the Luke 19:13 parable about his return, to occupy till he comes. Christ came the first time that we have life and have it more abundantly. Not that we should live in bondage. Take action. Be courageous. Do what is righteous. Stand in the gap, repent, pray, act that our nation may be a light in these dark and perilous times. The psalmist wrote, “My heart is breaking as I remember how it used to be: I walked among the crowds of worshipers, leading a great procession to the house of God, singing for joy and giving thanks amid the sound of a great celebration!” (Psalm 42:4 NLT). Then he wrote, “Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again—my Savior and my God!” (verses 5–6 NLT). I love how the psalmist shifted gears. He went from asking an honest question to effectively preaching to himself. I have found myself doing that at times. When I’ve felt down, I’ve quoted Scripture to myself, sometimes even out loud. A few verses earlier, the psalmist said, “As the deer longs for streams of water, so I long for you, O God. I thirst for God, the living God” (Psalm 42:1–2 NLT). In other words, he needed some spiritual refreshment. Do you need spiritual refreshment today? Ephesians 5:18–19 says, “Be filled with the Holy Spirit, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts.” In the original language, that’s a command, not a suggestion. Also, the implication is that it’s continuous. Therefore, God is commanding us to be filled with the Holy Spirit every day, and that brings refreshment into our lives. As Acts 3:20 reminds us, “Times of refreshment will come from the presence of the Lord” (NLT). FROM THE HEART Let Us Make the Short Time We have Left, Count for ALL of Eternity!
