The Spirit of the Lord Came Upon Him, Part II - By Randy Nettles - https://www.raptureready.com/2021/06/06/the-spirit-of-the-lord-came-upon-him-part-ii-by-randy-nettles/
Saul was still king of Israel, as David’s anointing by Samuel was mostly a symbolic act between God and David. However, in God’s eyes, it was a done deal and was only a matter of time before David would become king over Israel officially. The Philistines were still Israel’s greatest enemy during this time. In about 1020 BC, the armies of Israel and Philistine gathered together to do battle in Judah. An army sometimes avoided great losses and bloodshed by pitting its strongest warrior against the strongest warrior of the enemy. The winner of the fight was considered the winner of the battle. The nation that lost the battle would forfeit the contested land and become slaves to the victor nation. “And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span. And he had a helmet of bronze upon his head, and he was armed with a coat of mail; and the weight of the coat was five thousand shekels of bronze. And he had bronze armor upon his legs, and a bronze javelin between his shoulders. And the staff of his spear was like a weaver’s beam; and his iron spearhead weighed six hundred shekels of iron: and one bearing a shield went before him. “And he stood and cried unto the armies of Israel, and said unto them, Why are you come out to set your battle in array? Am not I a Philistine, and you servants to Saul? Choose you a man for you, and let him come down to me. If he be able to fight with me, and to kill me, then we will be your servants: but if I prevail against him, and kill him, then shall you be our servants, and serve us. And the Philistine said, I defy the armies of Israel this day; give me a man, that we may fight together. When Saul and all Israel heard those words of the Philistine, they were dismayed and greatly afraid” (1 Samuel 17:4-11). “And David spoke to the men that stood by him, saying, What shall be done to the man that kills this Philistine, and takes away the reproach from Israel? For who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?” And the people answered him, that the man who kills him, the king will enrich him with great riches, and will give him his daughter, and make his father’s house free in Israel” (1 Samuel 17:25). “And when the words were heard which David spoke, they rehearsed them before Saul: and he sent for him. And David said to Saul, Let no man’s heart fail because of him; your servant will go and fight with this Philistine. And Saul said to David, You are not able to against this Philistine to fight with him: for you are but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth. And David said unto Saul, Your servant kept his father’s sheep, and there came a lion, and a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock: and I went out after him, and smote him, and delivered it out of his mouth: and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and smote him, and slew him. Your servant slew both the lion and the bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he has defied the armies of the living God. David said moreover, the Lord that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the Lord be with you” (1 Samuel 17:31-37). David, the young shepherd boy, was the only one brave enough to fight the gigantic giant. Saul offered David his armor and sword, but David refused them for he was not trained to fight in that manner. As with the lion and bear, David chose only to use his sling as his weapon of choice. He picked up five smooth stones and put them in his pouch and met the giant on the battlefield. “And the Philistine cursed David by his gods. And the Philistine said to David, Come to me, and I will give your flesh unto the fowls of the air, and to the beasts of the field. “Then David said to the Philistine: You come to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the Lord will deliver you into mine hand; and I will smite you, and take your head from you; and I will give the carcasses of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. And all this assembly shall know that the Lord saves not with sword and spear: for the battle is the Lord’s and he will give you into our hands” (1 Samuel 17: 43-47). As they met on the battlefield, David took a stone out of his pouch and placed it in his sling and slung it. The stone hit the giant in the forehead and he fell upon his face to the ground. David ran and stood upon the Philistine, and took his sword and killed him; and cut off his head. When the Philistine warriors saw their champion was dead, they fled; and the men of Israel and Judah arose and pursued the Philistines and killed the host of them. The outcome of the fight and subsequent battle was exactly as David had foretold to Goliath and the army of the Philistines. The battle belonged to the Lord! God had used a mere boy to defeat a 10′ giant (with armor and sword) and win the battle for his people. The Bible doesn’t mention it, but I believe “the spirit of the Lord” must have come upon David in a powerful way, giving him almost supernatural strength and precision. At that point, it was not Goliath against David; it was more like Goliath against God. God forcefully guided the stone into the only unprotected part of Goliath’s body, his forehead. Goliath never knew what hit him. Why did God use a young unheralded shepherd boy to defeat the giant and save Israel instead of a mighty warrior like Samson? If the battle had occurred approximately 35 years earlier, Samson would have represented Israel as their champion. He would have been the one to fight Goliath. Can you imagine mighty Samson and the giant Goliath in a fight to the death? Samson armed with the jawbone of an ass fighting against Goliath with his sword and armor! What a fight that could have been… but never was. The Bible story of Samson versus Goliath never happened. God had something much better in mind for his people to witness. If they had fought, I believe God would have given the victory to Samson, even though he didn’t always give God the glory for his strength and success. God wanted Israel to win and to rid the idol-worshipping Philistines from the land. He always accomplishes his objectives by whomever and whatever means He chooses. He will use the weak as well as the strong; the young as well as the old. He especially likes to work with those who have a humble and contrite spirit. One thing is certain… he will always use those that have faith and put their trust in Him. After Saul sinned greatly against the Lord, Samuel conveyed this message of the Lord to Saul: “And Samuel said to Saul, but now your kingdom shall not continue: the Lord has sought him a man after his own heart, and the Lord has commanded him to be captain over his people, because you have not kept that which the Lord commanded you” (1 Samuel 13:13-14). David was a man after God’s own heart. He constantly thought about God and put all of his faith in Him. David loved the Lord with all of his heart, and for this God abundantly rewarded and protected him. As long as David sought the Lord, he was successful. God chose David to be his representative/champion to fight against a pagan evil people and their champion, the Philistine of Gath, Goliath by name, for possession of the Promised Land. He deliberately chose a young shepherd boy with no military training to fight against the great Philistine hero. There was no great warrior/judge like Samson left in Israel who had the courage to go up against such odds…. not even Saul, their king. There was, however, a young shepherd boy named David, who did have the necessary courage to respond to the giant’s challenge. David had honed his skill with a sling and stone to protect his father’s sheep from animal predators. Although becoming quite proficient with this primitive weapon, he ultimately relied on God to make sure his aim was perfect. He always had the faith that God would deliver him from death, and God always did. By sending a boy to do a man’s job, God made sure the Israelites realized where the victory was truly coming from. The victory was the Lord’s and the Lord’s only… not some great renowned Israelite warrior (although David did become one later). These are the words of David, moments before he met Goliath on the battlefield: “And all this assembly shall know that the Lord saves not with sword and spear: for the battle is the Lord’s and he will give you into our hands” (1 Samuel 17:47). Armed with this kind of faith, David couldn’t lose. Goliath never had a chance against God’s young man. David was a man after God’s own heart. No other person in the Bible is given this description or attribute, not even Noah, Abraham, Moses, or Joseph. David wasn’t perfect by any means, as later in life he would commit horrific sins. Once he forgot the Lord and relied on his own power, he committed serious crimes for which God punished him and thus his family and Israel. David realized his sins and begged God for mercy and forgiveness. Not only was David a great warrior, but he was also a great prayer warrior. Psalm 51 is a plea for mercy, forgiveness, and cleansing that David prayed to God. “Have mercy upon me, O God, according to your loving kindness: according unto the multitude of your tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Wash me, thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. Hide your face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from your presence; and take not your holy spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of your salvation; and uphold me with your free spirit” (Psalm 51:1-4). God forgave David, as He does for every believer who sincerely asks for it. Sin committed will always have consequences. You will reap what you sow, but God will forgive you no matter how great your sins are. God sent David to deliver Israel from a life of slavery to the evil Philistines. However, He sent one much greater than David, namely Jesus, to deliver us from our sins and a life of slavery to them. Believe in Him as your Lord and Savior, and become a man/woman after God’s own heart. Allow the Holy Spirit to take control of your life and live victoriously, even into eternity. “For you see your calling, brothers, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and base things of the world, and things which are despised, has God chosen; yes, and things which are not, to bring to nothing things that are: that no flesh should glory in his presence. “But of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God – and righteousness and sanctification and redemption: that, according as it is written, He who glories, let him glory in the Lord” (1 Corinthians 1:26-31). Randy Nettles [email protected] Many U.S. Cities Are Already Starting To Resemble Post-Apocalyptic Cesspools As America’s Collapse Accelerates - by Michael Snyder - http://theeconomiccollapseblog.com/many-u-s-cities-are-already-starting-to-resemble-post-apocalyptic-cesspools-as-americas-collapse-accelerates/ For a moment, I would like you to take an imaginary tour of a major U.S. city with me, and I would like for you to try to guess which city I am talking about. As you stroll along the sidewalks in the heart of this city, it seems like tents have been erected everywhere. Homelessness is completely and utterly out of control in this particular city, and even though city officials keep making more promises the crisis just continues to get worse. As you continue your tour, you notice multiple addicts doing drugs right in front of you. Drug needles, human waste and other trash are strewn all over the place, and you wonder why nobody from the city has cleaned up the mess. All of this filth has created a stench that is overpowering at times, and you try not to gag. As you travel deeper into the urban core of this city, you are shocked to see two men with guns carjack a woman a couple of blocks away. Not wanting to get involved, you abruptly change direction. You are startled when a couple of addicts that look like they were pulled straight out of a zombie movie start asking you for money, and you begin instinctively walking faster without even thinking about it. Unfortunately, you have stumbled into an alley that you should never have gone down, and you now find yourself completely surrounded by curious street people. You try to make a break for it, but it is too late. I’ll stop our imaginary tour right there. Can you guess which major U.S. city I am talking about? Sadly, the reality of the matter is that there are many U.S. cities that closely fit the description that I just gave you. For example, Los Angeles was once one of the most beautiful cities on the entire planet, but today it is being described as a “squalid cesspool”… The Democrat-controlled city of Los Angeles has devolved into a squalid cesspool of rampant crime, uncontrolled homelessness and filthy streets littered with trash, drug paraphernalia and human waste. That’s the observation of numerous Californians, including award-winning actor James Woods, who lamented on Monday that the picturesque city he once loved “is gone.” If you walk through the streets of Los Angeles today, you will find that homeless people have erected tents literally all over the city. Jeremiah Babe has demonstrated this over and over again in his excellent videos, and the footage that he captures during his visits to the core of Los Angeles just seems to keep getting worse over time. As conditions in Los Angeles deteriorate, it is fueling a dramatic rise in violent crime. The murder rate in Los Angeles is up 95 percent so far this year, and it is now the number one political issue in the entire city. Further north, San Francisco officials are dealing with their worst drug epidemic ever. San Francisco has always had a big problem with drugs, but Dr. Christopher Colwell says that the widespread use of fentanyl has taken things to an entirely different level… “Our most immediate threat right now is the opioid epidemic and the trauma we are seeing. We are seeing increases I haven’t seen in my career around dependency and overdoses, mostly involving fentanyl. We always had problems with opioids, specifically heroin, but fentanyl has changed the whole landscape of drugs.” When we think of addicts, we tend to envision street people in our minds, but in San Francisco a lot of people that are overdosing these days are respected professionals… A physician, two nurses, a professional athlete, a drug dealer and a lawyer who had nodded off in court. Teenagers, specifically a 14- and a 15-year-old. And a 7-year-old who got into a stash in her mother’s purse. These are some of the types of people Dr. Christopher Colwell, the chief of emergency medicine at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, has recently seen in the emergency room for medical issues related to fentanyl use and overdoses. Whenever you have large numbers of drug addicts in a particular city, you are going to have a problem with property crime. Addicts are always looking for more money to pay for their next hits, and shoplifting has gotten wildly out of control in the city. What makes things even worse is that shoplifters in San Francisco face very light consequences if they are actually caught, and so at this point they have become extremely brazen… Alarming video captured the moment a brazen robber filled a garbage bag with products at a San Francisco Walgreens and bicycled out of the store after no one tried to stop him. The footage posted on Twitter by ABC7 Reporter Lyanne Melendez was filmed on Monday afternoon in a Walgreens at the corner of Gough and Fell streets in the Bay Area – where 17 of the pharmacy’s stores have been forced to close in recent years due to theft. I watched the video, and the thief actually brushes right up against the security guard without any concern whatsoever. On the other side of the country, police in the Atlanta area are operating under new rules that restrict them from chasing criminals. This is infuriating many residents, because now violent criminals can literally get away with just about anything if they just drive away fast enough… This is the moment cops appear to do nothing amid a drive-by shooting in Atlanta as residents of the wealthy Buckhead area say it’s a ‘warzone’ and demand to secede. The video, which was played on Tucker Carlson Tonight, shows people lining up near a dark-colored van that is parked on the side of the road when a white car passes by and shots ring out, with one going straight through the dark van, striking one of the passersby and sending people scrambling. A few seconds later, blue lights could be seen reflecting off the windshield of the black van, symbolizing police cars passing by and not stopping at the scene in the wealthy Buckhead neighborhood. By the way, the murder rate in Atlanta is up 60 percent so far this year, and officials in Atlanta say that they are desperate for solutions. Here is a solution. Perhaps they should actually allow the police to chase down criminals that are shooting at people. Just a thought. Up north, New York City hasn’t seen this much degradation since the dirty days of the 1970s. Crime is wildly out of control, and filth is seemingly everywhere. Earlier today, I came across a report from the local Fox affiliate that discussed the fact that the number of subway cars that are soiled by “feces, vomit, and blood” is increasing… As people return to the subway system in New York City, they are finding more trash and filth, according to a new report. There has been a rise in soiled train cars this year according to Daily News including cases of feces, vomit, and blood. Do you ever wonder who gets to clean up those messes? I hope that whoever has to do that job is well paid. As our major cities degenerate into cesspools of crime, drugs and filth, vast numbers of ordinary citizens are fleeing for greener pastures. In fact, North American Van Lines has just released a report that confirms that there was a huge wave of migration from “blue states” to “red states” in 2020… The pandemic saw people leave Democratic blue states in droves and head towards sunnier climes in the red states of the south to escape the strict lockdowns and spiraling crime. A migration report from moving company North American Moving Services found those living in the states of New York, California, Illinois, New Jersey and Maryland headed for Arizona, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina and Idaho. Unfortunately, this is just the beginning. As our cities continue to deteriorate, millions more Americans will be seeking to relocate. Of course this ongoing mass exodus has already pushed home prices in many desirable rural and suburban areas to absolutely absurd levels. If you are thinking about relocating, I would recommend doing it as soon as possible, because the collapse of our major cities is only going to get worse. Nearing Midnight: Checking Our Watch – Terry James - https://www.raptureready.com/category/nearing-midnight/ Jesus, if He wasn’t the Creator God of all that is and the Savior of the world from the dread sway of sin, might be considered a person obsessed—especially in one particular area. He constantly and consistently commanded that those who identified with Him “watch.” This seemed all-important to Him. Because He is, in fact, Creator and Lamb that takes away the sin of the world, it behooves us to examine this obviously most important directive. Jesus chastised the religionists—the Judaizers of that day—for their inability to discern the times—their failure to “watch” to see what was going on around them. When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red. And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times? (Matthew 16:2–3) Those He chastised at that time could not discern the times; they couldn’t “watch” for their Messiah in the proper way because they didn’t truly believe in God’s way. That Way was right in front of them, and they wouldn’t believe in Him. So, belief is at the center of any such “watching” process in terms Christ presents. The spiritual principle for attaining this level of discernment is laid out by the Apostle Paul. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. (1 Corinthians 2:12–14) In the case of believers in this Age of Grace (Church Age), the indwelling Holy Spirit provides this discernment. We who have Christ dwelling within us have the ability to “watch” in the way He wants us to observe the times and seasons. Sad to say, the vast majority of pastors today are themselves not “watchers on the wall” for prophetic stage-setting issues and events literally exploding around them. Thus, Christians in their pews who are true believers are not being instructed to “watch.” That fact of pastoral neglect is no excuse if you and I are believers. We’re to study to show ourselves approved, so that we will not be ashamed at our Lord’s appearing (the time of Rapture). Such “watching” and working makes us workmen who need not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of Truth. And the Truth is that Jesus Christ is about to make that sudden appearing we’re to be watching for. The evidence for that any-moment appearance is in all directions we observe. Jesus knew that neglecting to “watch” would be a major symptom of apostasy at the end of the Church Age. He knew that people will be more and more caught up in the affairs of an increasingly sinful world the nearer history moves toward the Tribulation era. (Read again Matthew 24:36–42 and Luke 17:26–30) As a matter of fact, the Lord voiced His thoughts in that regard. He was concerned for the generation of believers who would, like Lot of Sodom, be vexed by the evil all around them. I think His words shows that He would avenge this evil, even though He knew there would be very few believers who were truly faithful enough to be looking for His sudden, catastrophic intervention. And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? (Luke 18:7–8) This statement makes me hold to the contention that there is no ”Great Awakening” prophesied for the closing days of this age. Certainly, the trend in the opposite direction of such an event seems to be irreversible. That trajectory is easily observable to the spiritually-attuned watchmen on the wall of unfolding history. Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch. (Luke 13:35–37) Day After Day – Gary Stearman – www.prophecywatchers.com ... the media glibly try to make revolutionary jargon, political perfidy and socialist disaster look normal, even optimistic. All is well, they tell us, even though foreign and domestic politics are a looming catastrophe. Trillionaire mystery men deal in programs and projects. Their innermost plans are global, rather than national in scope. Alcohol and cannabis are everywhere. Churches are fading away, as pseudo-religions explode throughout society, most of them in some way socialist in belief. And everywhere, there is the endless search for new and different kinds of entertainment. Meanwhile, Christians shudder at their children’s corrupted curriculum, with its unspeakable theories and the failure to teach math, English, the basic sciences and history. A composite blend of Marxist philosophy, pseudo-psychology, and even gender identity changes by the minute, crashing the classic understanding that male and female were created by God. How could this have happened, given that America has been the land of the Gospel, of great seminaries and of countless revivals, sent here and abroad by men who were steeped in the myriad truths of Scripture? Many Scriptures throughout the Bible make the answer to this question crystal clear. But one, written by Paul in the opening chapter of Romans, says it all, as he describes seven steps of man’s descent from spiritual to secular: “Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things” (Rom. 1:21-23). 1. Man knew God. The Lord had done everything possible to reveal Himself, but the nature of man is to refuse Him, and to not glorify Him as God. We are a land that has often been the source of Christian revival. Dozens of now-famous evangelists have preached to the world. Millions have been saved. A new life in Christ is a well-known idea. But in today’s America, in corporations and schools, it has been put to sleep. We have taken Him for granted.) 2. We have glorified our ability to exist with God. Technology has, in many ways, become our god. It gives us anything we want… food, health, comfort and security. We can make anything we want. And now, it is even intelligent!) 3. Why thank God, when we can provide for ourselves? 4. Mankind fell victim to atheistic theories and developed a myriad of bizarre “explanations” of an ancient nature that came into existence without a god. 5. God’s wisdom and knowledge was gradually removed. 6. Man’s knowledge base became corrupted. He began to believe his own theories. He became a fool. 7. God was modeled into mythology and later, pseudo-science. It is this science that atheist man worships today. And what does Paul say happened next? The 24th verse says it all: “Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.” (Rom 1:24,25). The Lord stands, awaiting man’s return to His lovingkindness and truth. Cherish your faith above all. Daily Jot: Stupidocrisy: Our most dangerous physical enemy – Bill Wilson – www.dailyjot.com According to Joe Biden the number one threat to America is not China. It’s not COVID. It’s not radical Islam. It’s not guns (at least last week). Can you even guess what Joe thinks the number one threat to America is? Get this: Global warming. Yep, that’s it. He addressed a gathering of Air Force personnel stationed in the United Kingdom saying that the greatest physical threat to America was, “this is not a joke. You know what the Joint Chiefs told us the greatest physical threat facing America was? Global warming.” I guess now in the next three-plus years, we are going to be physically fighting a war on global warming. Let’s get fired up—well maybe not—to fight the war against polar ice cap melting. Let’s go, Joe! Biden told the obviously mesmerized troops that "There will be significant population movements, fights over land, millions of people leaving places because they’re literally sinking below the sea in Indonesia, because of the fights over what is arable land anymore." I’m sure this invoked a sense of patriotism in every GI within earshot—that the entire world was going to be in turmoil because Indonesia is sinking—wow! Makes me want to take up arms to protect the homeland against a growing evil of monumental importance. Biden left our troops with these inspiring words, “We must all commit to an ambitious climate action if we’re going to prevent the worst impacts of climate change, limiting global warming to no more than 1.5 degrees Celsius and lead the global transition in clean energy technology." I wonder if he’s told this to China. Let’s interrupt this program with a few facts. The UK Telegraph, once an advocate of global warming, recanted in 2008. Environmentalist reporter James Delingpole blew the whistle on scientists after he obtained 1079 emails and 72 documents from the University of East Anglia’s Climate Research Unit, the official source of global warming/climate change data. He wrote in 2009 that scientists were practicing “Conspiracy, collusion in exaggerating warming data, possibly illegal destruction of embarrassing information, organized resistance to disclosure, manipulation of data, private admissions of flaws in their public claims and much more.” Also in December of 2008 some 650 scientists refuted global warming. Nobel Prize winner for physics Ivar Giaever said, “I am a skeptic…Global warming has become a new religion.” One of the UN’s own IPCC scientists from Japan, Dr. Kiminori Itoh, said that global warming fears are “the worst scientific scandal in the history…When people come to know what the truth is, they will feel deceived by science and scientists.” Was he talking about COVID or global warming? Fauci or Biden? I am all in favor of being a good steward of this earth. I also believe the promise the Lord gave Noah in Genesis 8:21-22, “Neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done; While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.” But, of course, some believe in science, or shall we say the politics of science, more than God. That’s how our most dangerous physical enemy isn’t physical at all. Say it with me…Stupidocrisy. Daily Devotion: Travel Light - by Greg Laurie – www.harvest.org Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. —Philippians 3:12 https://harvest.org/resources/devotion/travel-light/ - Listen I don’t know about you, but I always take too much stuff with me when I travel. I have a bag with wheels, and no matter what size it is, I’ll still manage to fill it up. I don’t even need everything I put into it. And then I drag around my bag on wheels. Some of us are like that in life. We’re just wheeling our burdens around. We take them with us everywhere, but we need to cast those things aside. The Bible tells us to “strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up” (Hebrews 12:1 NLT). The J. B. Phillips New Testament renders it this way: “Let us strip off everything that hinders us, as well as the sin which dogs our feet.” In other words, we need to cast aside the sin and weight that holds us back. And sometimes what slows one person down won’t necessarily slow another person down. For instance, some people have a metabolism that allows them to eat anything they want and never gain weight. I don’t have that kind of metabolism. I did when I was in my 20s, but I don’t anymore. So the weight that slows us down can vary from person to person. But sin is sin, and you know what may dull your spiritual appetite. You know what issues can distract you from your faith. You know what relationship will pull you down spiritually. And you certainly know what God doesn’t want you to be involved in. Maybe today you’re carrying a lot of weight, and I don’t mean physical weight. I’m talking about burdens, hardships, difficulties, and problems you’re dragging around. Lay aside the things that are holding you back. And keep your eyes on Jesus. We still have time to reap a great harvest of souls for God's kingdom!" - Hal Lindsey 1) We need your prayers!- We proclaim the Truth of the Word of God and we are under constant spiritual and sometimes even physical attack. 2) We need your encouragement!- We need to hear from you, let us know how the Lord is blessing you through this ministry so that we can share it with others. 3) We need your input! - If you have a prophetic article or story or if there is a news related item we missed, let us know. 4) We need your financial support!- To put it quite simply, without your support, there would be no Prophecy Update. I ask that you would prayerfully consider partnering with us to get the Word out and keep the world informed. Remember, your gift, no matter how small, does make a difference! You will be helping to touch lives, around the world, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, thanks to the internet your generosity carries a global impact! - Thanks! Our Prayer for You- "Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God's people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, men will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else." 2 Corinthians 9:10-13 If you have been blessed by Prophecy Update and would like to help support this ministry financially. Hello, hope at right place. Haven’t seen any prophecy news updates on rumble. I believe last was June 3rd. I share those video’s with family and friends. I pray that you are well and will be looking for them. Lord willing hopefully not to many more left to do. Looking for His blessed hope Titus 2:13. This body of mine is breaking down Romans 8:23. But it will be amazing to get that new glorified body but even more to see our Lord and Savior the most. Until then continue to share the light of His glory and grace.
