It’s probably not the first thing that comes to your mind when you think about Jesus’ ministry. I can’t recall any video on His life that included Him overturning tables as recorded in John 2:13-17 and Matthew 21:12-13. Yes, He did it two times. If there’s a table in today’s church that needs overturning, it’s Replacement Theology. Its proponents tell us that the church has replaced Israel as the recipient of God’s covenants with and promises to the nation. They say the church is now God’s kingdom on earth. “Why another post on Replacement Theology?” you ask. It’s because this teaching harms believers and in the end, it exalts the church over Jesus. IT CONTRADICTS THE WORDS OF SCRIPTURE Scripture tells us that the Lord will restore a glorious kingdom for Israel. Those who adhere to Replacement Theology contradict what the Bible teaches about the future of the Jewish people. In my post, 12 Questions for Those Who Deny the Validity of Future Bible Prophecy, I provide a dozen biblical reasons supporting the restoration of a future, glorious kingdom to Israel. In another article, The Biblical Necessity of a Third Jewish Temple, I explain why there must be a seventieth week of Daniel for the Jews followed by their kingdom. The adherents of Replacement Theology mistakenly teach that the church has inherited the promises meant for Israel and in doing so negate what the Bible says about Jesus’ future reign over the nations. Such mistreatment of Scripture is just the beginning of the harm it does within the body of Christ. IT OBSCURES THE MESSAGE OF HOPE EMBEDDED IN THE GOSPEL I have heard a great many sermons where the preacher states that God calls all believers to evangelize their neighborhoods, workplaces, or schools. Such messages typically paralyze me in guilt and I suspect I’m not alone. Of course, as believers we must remain alert for opportunities to share our faith. However, it’s an awareness of God fulfilling prophecy in our day along with a focus on Jesus’ imminent appearing that both prepares and motivates us to share our joyous hope with others. Is this not what it means to provide “a reason for the hope” that we possess (1 Peter 3:15)? A couple years ago, a husky strong plumber stood in our home and said he was afraid for himself and his family because of what’s happening in America. My wife and I shared our hope of Jesus’ appearing and pointed him to the Savior and the Gospel. He resisted, but we continue to pray for him. The ones most open to hearing the saving message of the cross are those who recognize the perilous times in which we live. They see the threats to their wellbeing and long for a message of hope that soothes their fears because of the hope the Bible offers them. They need to hear about the fulfillment of prophecy in our day along with our hope in Jesus’ imminent appearing. However, these are the very things that Replacement Theology negates. Preachers immersed in various types of kingdom theology are often exceptionally gifted speakers and people flock to their churches in great numbers to hear them preach. Unfortunately, their preaching obscures the hope that both believers and unbelievers need the most for the day in which we live. It points them away from Jesus’ appearing and makes church growth the overarching objective. IT MISREPRESENTS THE ROLE OF BELIEVERS AS MEMBERS OF THE BODY OF CHRIST The marching orders for all the saints to become evangelists distort what the Bible says about life in the body of Christ. The message of Paul in Romans 12:6-8 paints a much different picture than what’s popular in most seeker-friendly churches today: “Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.” As members of the body of Christ, we enthusiastically exercise the gifts and callings that Jesus gives to to each of us. If there’s any matter that Paul makes abundantly clear in 1 Corinthians 12, it’s that the members of the body of Christ have differing roles and functions, dare I say differing callings. In 1 Corinthian 3:4-9, the apostle addressed a division that had arisen in the Corinth church. Some claimed a devotion to Paul who initially brought the Gospel to the city. Others preferred Apollos, who instructed the young believers in their faith. In verse 8, Paul erases the distinction between those that “plant,” or evangelize, and those that “water,” or teach: “He who plants and he who waters are one, and each will receive his wages according to his labor.” Did you catch that? They are “one!” The Lord works through all the gifts of the Spirit to bring others to saving faith. IT OPENS THE DOOR TO FALSE TEACHING During lunch with a local pastor, he called my attention to Andy Stanley as a reason I should adopt his “church is the kingdom” brand of amillennialism. He said I was out of touch with what was “popular” in the church because I disagreed with his and Stanley’s denial of a future restored kingdom for Israel. I couldn’t help but recall that discussion from years ago as I recently watched a video clip of Andy Stanley praising “gay Christians” for their courage and pleading for their acceptance in the church. He referred to Old Testament passages that prohibit such behavior, but did so with a tone of exasperation that implied we dare not apply such passages to these fellow believers. Please know I’m extremely grateful that many pastors immersed in Replacement Theology still maintain the purity of the Gospel. The problem is that it opens the door, perhaps at a much later time, to teachings that dilute the purity of the saving message of the cross. This happens because those who promote kingdom theology must employ symbolism, also referred to as allegory, to reinterpret the intent of biblical authors who predict that the Lord will restore a kingdom for Israel. Once churches start down the road using allegory to reinterpret these prophecies, the same errant approach invariably bleeds over to other passages of Scripture. The identification of the church as God’s physical kingdom on earth has given birth to the most popular false teaching in the church today, Dominion Theology. It’s proponents tells us that the church will bring in God’s righteous rule on the earth with Jesus returning after the Millennium. Preterism, which falsely claims that Jesus returned to earth in 70 AD and fulfilled most, if not all, future prophecies, begins with Replacement Theology and naturally flows from it. What do all these teachings have in common? They glorify the church at the expense of lifting up the name of Jesus. Of course, you will hear praise for Jesus where these things are taught, but the main objective is always to grow and honor the church. I say this based on my study of these beliefs and from many years’ experience of interacting with their adherents. Replacement Theology always leads, at a later time, to further abuse of biblical texts and to the glorifying of the church above its Head. IT BLINDS SAINTS TO THE REALITY OF LIVING IN THE LAST DAYS Replacement Theology harms the saints because it blinds them to the reality that they live in the last days. Its proponents see no prophetic implications in the miraculous reemergence of Israel as a nation, which is a key indicator of the day in which we live. It’s also popular to regard the book of Revelation as everything other than what it claims to be, a book of future prophecy. The allegorical approach to it blinds many today to the innumerable precursors for the fulfillment of its prophecies. It was heart wrenching to watch scenes from the devastating earthquake that hit Turkey and Syria on Sunday, February 5, 2023. In one video, I heard the people screaming with grief and agony. As I write, the reported death toll now stands at about 35,000 killed and 80,000 wounded. This should be a wakeup call for all believers: God’s judgment is on its way to our world. How many more warning signs will it take for pastors of seeker-friendly churches to recognize that we live in a day when the Bible is coming to life before their eyes and begin at least mentioning our “blessed hope” in their sermons? If not now, when? During the past several years, the Lord has shown the world a sampling of what’s to come during the Tribulation, but it’s a warning that few heed. The scenes from the earthquake in Turkey and Syria are horrific and awful. However, the devastation during the Day of the Lord will be considerably worse. 1 Corinthians 15:50-54 is one of many passages that tell of our joyous expectation of the Rapture. The promise that not all believers will die applies especially to those of us alive today. Isn’t that a cause for much rejoicing? I think so. I tell you this, brothers: flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality. When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” This is the message of hope the lost need to hear and the encouragement of which we all need continual reminders. It’s all about Jesus and exalting His wonderful Name above all else. Jesus alone is our hope and the heart of the Gospel. Maranatha! Notice I said “America.” Not “NATO.” NATO is America and America is NATO along with its vassal states. NATO has always been built upon American power. The problem is America has lost its power and any that remains is largely about perception, not reality. Once the world figures this out, it’s game over. Once they see that the Emperor has no clothes, that it’s all smoke and mirrors — and the balloon incident has started to open people’s eyes — they will be shocked at how weak America actually is. This degrading of American power was facilitated by ideological traitors (communists posing as Democrats) and greed-based traitors (Republicans posing as crusaders for “free trade” and the global “free market”). They have hollowed out this country’s manufacturing base, making us dependent on a hostile foreign power, China, while profiting greatly from their partnerships with “Chinese businesses,” without explaining to the American people that to be a viable Chinese “business” you must march to the dictates of the Chinese Communist Party. When you boil it down, basically every Chinese business that our American globalist friends are involved with is part of the Chinese Communist Party controlled state-corporate superstructure. Take, for instance, this headline from today’s Detroit News: Ford to Announce $2.5B Battery Plant in Marshall (Michigan) with Chinese Partner. A friend of mine from Michigan said it best when I texted him the above article: “100 years ago Henry Ford brought Sharia compliant Mohammadens to Michigan to provide cheap labor for his plants. Today, Ford Motor Company is bringing to Michigan America’s enemies from China to enrich its business.” Democrat governors like Gretchen Whitmer in Michigan, and Republican governors like Brian Kemp in Georgia, are completely on board with selling out their states to the Chinese under the guise of providing jobs. The Biden administration clumsily announced this week that it is banning the U.S. from doing business with six Chinese corporations because they have ties to the Chinese military’s aerospace industry. According to CNN The US Commerce Department is restricting six Chinese companies tied to the Chinese army’s aerospace programs from obtaining US technology without government authorization. The move comes after a Chinese balloon suspected of carrying out surveillance flew over the US last week, raising political tensions between the world’s two largest economies. Six companies? This is laughable. Every Chinese “company” ultimately ties back to the CCP and its military ambitions. Meanwhile, the globalist communist Democrats and globalist “free market” Republicans have allowed our military to degrade itself while sending endless weaponry and munitions to Eastern Europe and other areas of the world. They have opened up the U.S. borders and ignored the defense of the homeland, thinking the U.S. is invincible (eerily similar to the revived Babylonian empire, drunk with pride, described in Revelation 17-18). At the same time America’s government has been corrupted, individual Americans have grown way too comfortable, living in luxury, too engrossed in games, entertainment, and other frivolous things that don’t matter, too ambivalent of things that do matter, to even see what’s happening before their very eyes. America is in free fall, both economically and militarily. And especially morally. It’s been a gradual decline for decades but at the end things tend to move very fast and I believe we’ve entered that final death spiral. This is very reminiscent of ancient Rome and its far-flung empire building. Rome, like America, was busy nation building abroad while ignoring the homeland. Finally it imploded from within when it realized the barbarians were not only gathering at the gates, they were inside the gates. Here is a list of things the Biden regime is doing that are the opposite of what any legitimate government would do if it was heading into war with a superpower like Russia, China or, God forbid, both at the same time: · Pushing dangerous experimental pharmaceutical products on U.S. military, first responders and healthcare personnel. China and Russia have not forced these mRNA drugs on their military personnel. · Sending endless arms and munitions to Ukraine. · Pushing for a global pandemic treaty that would shift sovereignty from individual nations to the United Nations World Health Organization in matters of public health and “public-health emergencies of international concern.” The new International Health Regulations, if adopted by the World Health Assembly in the last week of May, would hand over authority to the WHO to declare when such emergencies are declared and how to respond, whether with masks, lockdowns, forced injections, etc. · Introducing transgenderism, critical race theory and other destructive, divisive elements into the U.S. military. · Drawing down the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve to dangerously low levels while continuing to push “climate change” policies of phasing out so-called “fossil fuels” that are needed to run a modern economy, let alone a war-time economy. Russia and China do not indulge the John Kerrys and Bill Gateses of the world. They have no problem with “fossil fuels.” · Continuing to stoke divisions within U.S. society — racial, sexual, religious. Just this week an FBI leaked memo shows it is targeting conservative Catholics as an “extremist” threat. Previously, we’ve seen parents who attend school board meetings, so-called “election deniers,” vaccine refusniks, and pro-life evangelicals labeled as extremists and enemies of the state in the world of fairy tales in which the DOJ and FBI operate. They should be focused on real enemies but they choose to demonize various categories of law-abiding, hard working American families. · Continuing to encourage business deals with China in which China buys up valuable U.S. farmland and industrial land. · Opening the borders for terrorists and sleeper cells to enter from China, Iran, Russia and any other country that wants to send us their bad apples. · Going after guns. If we had a legitimate government that knew war with Russia-China was on the horizon, it would be encouraging responsible citizen gun ownership rather than trying to ban these weapons. · Not explaining to the American people that we are at war with Russia and China, at least in a proxy war and rapidly moving toward direct war with both sides escalating the conflicts. Why escalate toward war without mobilizing for war and explaining the rationale to the people? As a result of the above policies, America is not ready for World War III. And if America continues to sleepwalk into World War III, it will lose World War III. The country is not mobilizing. It is not uniting. I truly believe that’s because we don’t have a legitimate government in Washington. It’s a fake government run by traitors. This entity that people refer to as the government, while pushing the world toward war, is not preparing for war. As individual people of faith, I say this: Prepare accordingly. Because your “government” is not going to protect you from enemies foreign or domestic. It will be every man for himself, every neighborhood for itself, every community for itself. Millions of Americans were focused on the Super Bowl this past weekend as the world is on fire with war, earthquakes, bioweapons being promoted as vaccines, and growing famine. They are and will remain totally impervious to what’s going on. I hear God saying, “Come out of her my people,” before it’s too late, before you share in her sins and her plagues. Confident, yes, but prideful? No! There’s a humility that a Christian should always exhibit, regardless of their capabilities or their giftedness, because all of these gifts come from God. Christians, in our humility, serve Christ and are willing servants. So, such exhibitions of pride sit wrong with me. And so, I’ve taught myself, my children, and my family not to be prideful. And yet, America has dedicated an entire month (June) to pride — a sin which is absolutely abhorrent to God — and sexual immorality which has been declared to be an abomination in the Word of God (Gen. 2:24; Lev. 18:22; 20:13; Mat. 5:28; Rom. 1:24-27; 1 Cor. 5:1-5; 6:9-10; 1 Tim. 1:9-10; Heb. 13:4). Contrast this attitude of pride with the humility of Jesus Christ. When Jesus first came, He came lowly as a servant. Jesus said: “Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls” (Mat. 11:28-29). Jesus is gentle and humble. Paul’s letter to the Church of Philippi records it this way: “Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, as He already existed in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but emptied Himself by taking the form of a bond-servant and being born in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death: death on a cross. For this reason also God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name” (Phil. 2:5-9). Our great God and Savior — who sits at the right hand of the Father and who has existed for all of eternity — emptied Himself and humbled Himself. In so doing, Jesus demonstrated the right attitude that we as Christians should take, and as mature adult human beings, quite frankly. And yet, the world wants to elevate pride. And, what’s it so proud of right now? It is proud of its LGBTQ+ agenda. It is the most demonic out of all other sins and stands as the source of all other capital sins. Pride also equates to hubris, which is an excessive arrogance or audacity, especially before a holy God. Proverbs 16:18 in the King James version says that “Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.” Consider what Jesus said in Matthew 11 to the cities where He was ministering, in Chorazin and Bethsaida and Capernaum. The upper Galilee region was the very headquarters of Christ’s ministry. He said that it would be worse for them than for the wickedly evil cities of Sodom and Gomorrah on the Day of Judgment because those three cities had witnessed Christ’s blessing. They had experienced Christ’s own ministry first-hand, and yet they rejected Jesus. Sodom and Gomorrah were judged with fire. God’s wrath was poured out on them. But, Jesus declared He will be easier on the inhabitants of Sodom and Gomorrah than these three cities that had witnessed and understood the truth of what Jesus Himself revealed, but had rejected. How much worse will the United States be judged for our embracing pride and an abomination instead of staying true to the Word of God? In 1964, a songwriter named Hamilton Camp wrote a great song titled “The Pride of Man.” It was later sung by Gordon Lightfoot. In it, he sang, “Oh God, the pride of Man, broken in the dust again.” This age-old cycle of man — turning his back on God, shaking his fist in arrogant pride — is exactly what led to the downfall of Satan and why it is a satanic effort to perpetuate pride in the hearts of men. The LGBTQ+ community in appropriating the rainbow — God’s sign that He would never again flood the earth to punish mankind for their sins — has to be especially offensive to our Holy God. Why? Because in Genesis, God set up the rainbow as a sign of His “…covenant which I am making between me and you, and every living creature that is with you, for all successive generations” (Gen. 9:12-13). God added, “I set My [God’s] bow in the cloud, and it shall be a sign of covenant between Me and the Earth.” This very symbol — the rainbow — has been appropriated by the prideful to stand for what God calls an abomination. Such an action has to be an affront, an absolute insult added to injury, to our Holy God. Jesus came to die to pay the debt for all of our sins, so it is not my intention to pick out anyone as more worthy or needy of the grace of God. All of us have fallen short and need to repent and humble ourselves before God and accept His free gift of salvation (Rom. 3:23; 5:8; 10:9-10). Still, we must remember — pride will lead to destruction. James 4:6 and 1 Peter 5:5 says that Christ gives a greater grace, so while He is opposed to the proud, He will grant grace to the humble. We know that in the fullness of time, God will pour out His wrath on all of those who have rejected His Son and stood on their own human pride. The great prophet Isaiah records: “For the Lord of armies will have a day of reckoning against everyone who is arrogant and haughty, and against everyone who is lifted up, that he may be brought low” (Isa. 2:12). Folks, judgment is coming! The wrath of God hangs over the heads of all who have rejected Jesus Christ. Don’t stand on your pride rejecting the salvation of God, rather, humble yourselves. Come to know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Jesus is coming soon, that we can be assured. He is bringing glorious, eternal joy to all of those who have put their trust in Him. But, if you have rejected Jesus, if you are full of pride, then the wrath of God still abides on you (Jn. 3:36). I pray that you will humble yourselves before our great God and Savior who is soon returning to judge the world of its pride and sin. 13 Numbers That Show How Dramatically We Have Failed America’s Children - by Michael Snyder - http://endoftheamericandream.com/13-numbers-that-show-how-dramatically-we-have-failed-americas-children/ The kids are not okay, and it is time for us to face the truth. As long as I have been writing, surveys have shown that the mental health of our young people has been steadily getting worse. But now we are learning that things really took an enormous turn for the worse during the pandemic. As you will see below, one expert is warning that the number of kids that are dealing with mental health issues “has increased exponentially since the pandemic”. The facts that I am about to share with you are likely to make you very angry. Our system does not work, and millions upon millions of young people are having their lives ruined as a result. The following are 13 numbers that show how dramatically we have failed America’s children… #1 One recent survey found that 40 percent of U.S. parents “worry their children struggle with anxiety or depression”. #2 During the pandemic, suicide became the second leading cause of death for U.S. children between the ages of 10 and 14. #3 Suicide is also the second leading cause of death for Americans between the ages of 15 and 24. #4 According to a recent Pew Research Center poll, 46 percent of U.S. kids between the ages of 13 and 17 have experienced cyberbullying. #5 40 percent of U.S. high school students “felt so sad or hopeless” in 2021 that “they were unable to do their regular activities”. #6 According to the CDC, “more than 95% of children and adolescents in the U.S. spend much of their daily lives in school”. #7 At 23 schools in Baltimore, not one single student is proficient in math. #8 At 30 schools in Illinois, not one single student can read at grade level. #9 At 53 schools in Illinois, not one single student can do math at grade level. #10 According to the CDC, nearly 20 percent of all adolescent female students experienced sexual violence in 2021. #11 According to the CDC, nearly 60 percent of all adolescent female students “experienced persistent feelings of sadness or hopelessness” in 2021. #12 According to the CDC, nearly 25 percent of all adolescent female students “made a suicide plan” in 2021. #13 The proportion of adolescent female students that actually attempted suicide in 2021 was 60 percent higher than a decade ago. There is nothing “normal” about these numbers. The mental health of our young people has been declining for years, and a spokesperson for the American Academy of Pediatrics is telling us that the number of kids and adolescents dealing with mental health issues “has increased exponentially since the pandemic”… “I would say over the last 10 years, since I’ve been practicing as a general pediatrician, I have seen a shift both in the amount of patients and of all ages dealing with anxiety and depression. And their parents being concerned about this is a key issue,” said Dr. Katherine Williamson, a pediatrician and spokesperson for the American Academy of Pediatrics. “Even before the pandemic, we were seeing skyrocketing numbers of kids and adolescents dealing with mental health issues, and that has increased exponentially since the pandemic.” We told our leaders that the incredibly sick and twisted mandates and restrictions that they were forcing upon our young people were going to have very serious mental health consequences. And that is precisely what has happened. But of course we must also acknowledge that the mental health of our young people was steadily deteriorating long before the pandemic ever came along. It has become clear that no matter how much money we pour into our schools, it isn’t going to make things any better. In fact, to me it is quite apparent that our absolutely pathetic system of public education is a big part of the problem. If you want your teens to hate life, just put them into a public high school. Having said that, I want to stress that having strong nuclear families is even more important to the mental health of our young people. Unfortunately, the traditional family unit is under attack like never before, and in many cases it is being replaced by “new arrangements”… Alysia and Tyler Rogers were already parents to two children, now ages 7 and 8, when they embarked on a romantic relationship with married friends Sean and Taya Hartless. The two couples, originally from the US, moved in together as a polyamorous foursome in 2020 and the following year, Alysia and Taya delivered babies seven months apart. Neither woman knows who biologically fathered the kids, with Alysia maintaining they will help the children discover that down the road if they ever want to. I don’t even know what to say about all of that. Unfortunately, a smaller percentage of U.S. children are being raised in a traditional home with a traditional father and a traditional mother than ever before. And that has very serious implications for our future. As we all get older, we are going to need the next generation to take care of us. According to the Washington Post, it is being projected that the number of elderly people in the United States will grow very rapidly in the years ahead… That represents 55.7 million people, an increase of 15.2 million (38 percent) of people 65 and above since 2010, compared with just 2 percent growth in the under-65 population. It also reflects a consistent increase in the nation’s older population since 1900, when there were 3.1 million Americans 65 and older (4 percent of the population). The report projects a climb to roughly 80.8 million residents 65 and older by 2040, more than double the number in 2000. It also predicts a doubling of the number of even older residents by 2040, with the count of those 85 and older expected to grow from 6.7 million in 2020 to 14.4 million by 2040. In 2020, there were nearly 105,000 residents 100 or older. When we are all old and gray, we will be depending on the next generation to be the leaders of tomorrow. But thanks to our failures, the next generation is going to be incredibly messed up. Our society is being “fundamentally transformed” right in front of our eyes, and that is really bad news for all of us. Everywhere you turn, you have to question the source in order to determine whether there is truth in what is being reported. In the political business there is an old saying, “A little bit of truth makes a better lie.” It’s certainly true in today’s society. Whenever you read or hear phrases like “informed sources said,” or “sources with knowledge of the situation,” or “a source who wished to remain anonymous,” your truth meters should shoot up at warp speed. As a cub investigative reporter, my editors would say, “If they won’t put their name to it, it’s suspect.” But nowadays, these phantom sources are used to create stories and sell clicks on social media. Rolling Stone magazine, hardly the harbinger of journalism, recently cited three unidentified “people familiar with the situation” that Donald Trump wanted to bring back the death penalty using banned methods of execution. Asawin Suebsaeng and Patrick Reis wrote: “He has even, one of the sources recounts, mused about televising footage of executions, including showing condemned prisoners in the final moments of their lives. Specifically, Trump has talked about bringing back death by firing squad, by hanging, and, according to two of the sources, possibly even by guillotine. He has also, sources say, discussed group executions.” The story continued: “In at least one instance late last year, according to the third source, who has direct knowledge of the matter, Trump privately mused about the possibility of creating a flashy, government-backed video-ad campaign that would accompany a federal revival of these execution methods.” Brietbart News, which is generally a very good news source, continued the “no identified source” in covering the Rolling Stone story. Breitbart reported: “In a statement to Breitbart News, which was also provided to the magazine, a spokesperson for Trump’s campaign categorized the idea of a video campaign as “ridiculous and fake news.” Who is the spokesperson? Breitbart continued: “More ridiculous and fake news from idiots who have no idea what they’re talking about,” the spokesperson stated. “Either these people are fabricating lies out of thin air, or Rolling Stone is allowing themselves to be duped by these morons.” To set the record straight, Trump has called for the death penalty for drug dealers. But inasmuch as to how they would be executed, only the unnamed sources seem to know. In this case, it would appear that it’s a story designed to further discredit Trump because no one wants to put their name to these claims. Ephesians 5:6 says, “Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things comes the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.” Think twice before believing unnamed sources for you may be led into committing, say it with me…Stupidocrisy. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:7–8 NLT). Jesus gave this statement in response to a question from the disciples: “Lord, has the time come for you to free Israel and restore our kingdom?” (verse 6 NLT). Many of the people, including the disciples, had a misguided notion about Jesus. They thought that as Messiah, Jesus came to establish the kingdom of God on earth at that time. That’s why it seemed like a mistake when Jesus was crucified. So they were saying, “Okay, Lord, we’re so glad that You’re alive again. Are You going to establish the kingdom now?” In effect Jesus told them, “I’m not going to establish My earthly kingdom right now. That’s coming later. Stop focusing on when I’m returning and instead focus on what you are to do until I return.” We, too, need to focus on what we’re supposed to be doing while we await Christ’s return. Bible prophecy should not inflate our brains; it should enlarge our hearts. And if we really understand what Bible prophecy is about, then it should cause us to want to live godly lives. Jesus’ words in Acts 1:7–8 were not exclusively for first-century believers. We are still called to tell people about Jesus everywhere.
