This is Why We Must Study Prophecy! – Olivier Melnick - https://www.newantisemitism.com/featured-post-1/this-is-why-we-must-study-prophecy
Almost 30% of the Bible is prophecy, so why would we not study nearly a third of the Bible? Yet, on one side of the spectrum, many churches and pastors refrain from teaching prophecies; on the other side, just about anything goes regarding prophecies on the internet. Where is the balance? I believe that the balance can only be found if we apply a very specific method of interpretation known as grammatical/historical, literal hermeneutics, remaining faithful to the original context. It is worth repeating that a text without a context is a pretext! The prophets looked forward to Messiah as the meaning of their prophecies (Messiah, Savior and redeemer as found in 1 Peter 1:10-12): “As to this salvation, the prophets who prophesied of the grace that would come to you made careful search and inquiry, seeking to know what person or time the Spirit of Messiah within them was indicating as He predicted the sufferings of Messiah and the glories to follow. It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves, but you, in these things which now have been announced to you through those who preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven — things into which angels long to look.’ On the other side of the cross, the apostles looked back on Yeshua as the one who fulfilled the Messianic prophecies of the Tanach. We, too, look forward to the Messiah as fulfilled from the Old Testament prophecies. There is so much to be gained by studying prophecies: We Study Prophecy Because It is part of the Bible: All words given to us in the Bible are there for a reason. In some cases, we get the whole meaning upon a more in-depth study, but it is all there for us to live by. 2 Tim 3:16 All Scripture is inspired by God and beneficial for teaching, for rebuke, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man or woman of God may be fully capable, equipped for every good work. 2 Peter 1:21 for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God. We Study Prophecy Because God worked through His prophets: The prophets of old were God’s mouthpiece. They were the messengers of God who delivered His message to men as the priests delivered Man’s message to God. Being through dreams, visions or direct dialogue, God worked through His carefully selected prophets. Amos 3:7 Certainly the Lord God does nothing Unless He reveals His secret plan To His servants the prophets. And He also rejected false prophets: Many men came and went through Bible history claiming to be prophets of God but speaking a different message far away from God’s truth. A biblical prophet only had to be 100% accurate 100% of the time. No pressure, right? By the way, there is no indication in the Word of God that “modern-day prophets” fall under a different standard. Deuteronomy 18:20-22 But the prophet who speaks a word presumptuously in My name, a word which I have not commanded him to speak, or which he speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die.’ 21 And if you say in your heart, ‘How will we recognize the word which the Lord has not spoken?’ 22 When the prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, and the thing does not happen or come true, that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you are not to be afraid of him. We Study Prophecy Because Paul referred to the prophets: A substantial portion of the New Testament was written by the Apostle Paul, who referred to the Law and the Prophets (a euphemism for the Tanach.) He validated the importance of learning from the prophets of old. Romans 3:21 But now apart from the Law the righteousness of God has been revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets. We Study Prophecy Because Yeshua referred to the prophets: The Messiah Himself quoted from many of the Prophets of old. His teachings often took the audience back to the truth first delivered by prophets such as Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Zechariah and so many more. Matthew 7:12 “In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the Law and the Prophets. We Study Prophecy Because It Validates the Bible: Suppose we take silver dollars and lay them on the surface of Texas. They will cover all of the state two feet deep. Now mark one of these silver dollars and stir the whole mass thoroughly all over the state. Blindfold someone and tell them to travel as far as they wish, but they must pick up one silver dollar, and it has to be the marked one. What chance would they have of getting the right one? Just the same chance that the prophets would have had of writing only eight prophecies and having them all come true in any one man. We Study Prophecy Because It Strengthens Our Faith: God has always been in control of all events of history. We are comforted with the fact that in the Word, He gave us Messianic prophecies that were all literally fulfilled in ONE person, and likewise, the future, yet-unfulfilled prophecies will also be literally fulfilled. John 14:1-4“Let not your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And you know the way where I am going.” As believers in Yeshua, we rest in the fact that God knows and controls the future. The events of the Second Coming are guaranteed by those of the first coming. This is why the Second Coming is called the “blessed hope.” Titus 2:13 13 looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Messiah Yeshua, Based on prophecy and in light of the fact that the Lord could return at any moment, we should strive to lead lives that are pleasing to Him. (Titus 2:14; 2 Peter 3:13-14). In the effort to lead better lives for Him, we cannot avoid closer to God. Titus 2:14: …” who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, eager for good deeds.” 2 Peter 3:13-14: …” But according to His promise we are looking for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells. Therefore, beloved, since you look for these things, be diligent to be found spotless and blameless by Him, at peace….” We Study Prophecy Because It Equips Us to Share with the Lost: To understand who Messiah is based on the picture painted in the Tanach. By studying Messianic prophecies in the Tanach (Old Testament), we discover that through progressive revelation, God has granted us increasing knowledge about the person, character, timeline and redemptive career of the Messiah at His First and Second Coming. To understand who Messiah is based on the Objections to the Messiahship of Yeshua Once we understand the meaning of each prophecy, we can study and compare the Jewish objections. Eventually, as the prophecies are studied within the grammatical/historical context, they all point to the same person: Yeshua of Nazareth. We regularly run into prophecies as we study the Bible or in our daily devotions. If we ignore them every time we see them, we will ignore almost a third of the instruction manual God left for us. How can we properly function and behave if we only pay attention to two out of three verses in the Bible? Ignoring prophecy will impair us and force us to come to conclusions that are not in line with the whole counsel of God, and that is a very slippery slope I am not willing to get on, especially in a day and age when Bible prophecy is being fulfilled in front of our very eyes. Rapture and Restraint Scenario – Terry James - https://terryjamesprophecyline.com/2023/02/06/rapture-and-restraint-scenario/ Dr. Robert Jeffress, pastor of First Baptist Church of Dallas, made a most interesting comment in a sermon recently televised. He said something to the effect that he believes the Rapture will occur at the moment a global holocaust of some sort is in progress. It is interesting to me, because I remember many years ago watching a docudrama-type program, produced by Peter and Paul Lalonde, I think, that portrayed just such a scenario. Just as nuclear-armed missiles started to fly, something miraculous happened. I can’t recall whether the missiles vanished, failed to fully ignite, or what. But I believe at that moment the fictional account had the Rapture taking place. Dr. Jeffress indicated he believed that such a holocaust situation on a global scale could be used to provide reasons for the massive disappearance of people from the populations of the world. The globalists elite might use this as part of the big lie of 2 Thessalonians chapter 3 is, I presume, what he meant. I’m not sure I can fully embrace that particular scenario, but it fascinated me back when the Lalonde brothers presented their version, and it again piqued my imagination when Dr. Jeffress mentioned it while I was sipping coffee early the other morning. It likely induced me to start ruminating on writing this article, because there is such a build-up to war-making I believe the New World Order types are fashioning. That build-up is more than obvious to Christian and secular observers as well who see that increase in warmongering by those who are determined to have their Great Reset so they can remake planet earth into their own imagined Utopia. Again, the United States of America is at the center of the one-worlders’ thinking. This nation must be brought under their all-encompassing control. America is the hold up to implementing their plan to construct a world along the lines of the demonically inspired imaginations of Lenin and Lennon. We must be forced to believe that there is no Heaven, no Hell, and we all will be “as one” under the gods of this new creation—such as Klaus Schwab and his WEF henchman Noah Yubal Harari. Americans are still buying, selling, building, planting—doing all the things pretty much as normal. While most of the rest of the nations of earth are struggling mightily, economically and in other ways detrimental to human freedom, our nation, while headed down a track that will lead to destruction, isn’t headed that way fast enough to satisfy the one-worlders. As expressed many times in these commentaries, America is exactly in the position, the situation the Lord Jesus Christ foretold as recorded in the book of Luke. This is why I am convinced that America, the apex nation of history so far as being materially blessed is concerned, might be the specific nation and people Jesus foretold in this passage, which I believe refers to the Rapture: Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed. (Luke 17:28–30) As I’ve mentioned many times, all nations are linked in one way or the other to the United States and the dollar. Yes. I agree completely that things are changing, and there are tremendous pressures being brought to bring down the dollar, to create alternatives to the American-dominated global financial interaction. But America continues to stand, and nothing the powers that be have tried has collapsed either the United States or the world’s economy to this point. Nor will any earthly power be able to do so; I am of the firm opinion, based upon Jesus’ “days of Lot” prophecy. It is God, Himself, who will collapse America and the world—all deserving of His judgment and wrath, it’s sad and tragic to have to say. Dr. Jeffress believes that a great holocaust-type catastrophe will initiate God’s judgment while the Rapture at the same time occurs. If it will be this scenario that is in play, the build-up to war we are witnessing certainly could be that global catastrophe. Jesus said God’s judgment will, like when Lot went out of Sodom, fall that very day. That judgment completely destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, the twin cities of anti-God rebellion. Presently Iran is said to have nuclear weapons and are going to add to their arsenal quickly. Israel has declared they will never allow Iran to have an arsenal of such weapons. So the ignition point for at least a regional war of devastating potential is in place. The Russian-Ukrainian war is building, with Putin threatening almost daily to strike a conflict-ending blow, possibly using nuclear weapons. A general in charge of one of America’s powerful military branches is predicting war with China, the nation with the largest land army. In a startling memo released last week, a four-star Air Force general said that he believes the United States and China will fight a war in the upcoming two years. “A four-star Air Force general [Gen. Michael A. Minihan, USAF] sent a memo on Friday to the officers he commands that predicts the U.S. will be at war with China in two years and tells them to get ready to prep by firing “a clip” at a target, and ‘aim for the head,’” reported Reuters. The head of the Air Mobility Command, General Minihan, is in charge of about 50,000 service members and roughly 500 planes. He is also in charge of transport and refueling… “I hope I am wrong. My gut tells me we will fight in 2025.” (“Four star General: Be ready for this war,” New Conservative Post, January 30, 2023) All things are building toward something earth-shattering. God continues to restrain until the instant of His next catastrophic intervention. Christ will first call believers to Himself. Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all. Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed. (Luke 17:28–30) Prophecy Update Videos Must Watch Videos!
Nearing Midnight: Will Gold replace the Petrodollar? – Todd Strandberg - https://www.raptureready.com/category/nearing-midnight/ For decades, foreign nations have tried to get away from the dollar. They disliked America’s financial dominance by holding the world’s reserve currency. The dollar has its great dominance in the oil market. The petrodollar system is essentially the global practice of exchanging oil for US dollars rather than any other currency. This means that no matter what country is buying the oil, they pay the oil-producing country in petrodollars, which are denominated in US dollars. The dollar-based system survives on trust. People know it’s not going to lose any major value in a short period of time. Because there are so many dollars in circulation, traders can move huge mountains of cash in various transactions in a matter of seconds. In 2018, the average total volume of treasury securities traded per day was over 547 billion US dollars. A dealer in France can get a dollar-based loan and buy $200 million worth of steel out of Australia. China has tried to convince the world that its renminbi would make a good replacement for the dollar. President Xi traveled the world, making one trade agreement after another that promised both nations would use their own currency for trade. Nothing happened because few people trust a currency that is completely controlled by the Chinese government. If a financial crisis occurred in China that caused the value of the renminbi to collapse, holders of the currency would suffer major losses. A key driving force in why nations wanted to get away from the dollar is the American practice of using it as a weapon against other nations. Since 1990, the use of sanctions by the United States significantly increased, and since 1998, the United States has established economic sanctions on more than 20 countries. The Russians had their bank accounts locked up because of their invasion of Ukraine. It’s not just thugs and dictators that have to toe the line with American policy. Banks in Switzerland long had a history of secrecy with money. Uncle Sam said open your accounts so we can look for American tax dodgers, or we will kick out the dollar trade system. Switzerland had no choice but to comply. In many Latin American nations, it is very hard to open a bank account. The Fed assumes that anyone who sends money south of the border is dealing in drugs. You are a criminal until proven innocent. Many of the laws that were established after 9/11 have motivated the US government to stick its nose into everyone’s personal business. Another motivation for a dollar replacement is the massive national debt and trade deficit the US has with the rest of the world. Our current debt has reached $31.4 trillion, which was only $13 trillion in 2010. Our trade deficit is equally out of control. Each month foreign countries ship us $100 billion more in Goods than we ship to them. International bankers are increasingly coming to the conclusion that a gold-based system is the only way to wrestle control from America and put the US on a financial diet. Gold has no counterparty risk. If a nation has a ton of gold in a bank, there is no one in Washington who can press a button and make it worthless. No rich nation should ever allow gold to leave its border. When you read about countries selling off their reserves, it’s because they’re in a state of economic collapse. What allows a nation to retain its gold is a financial system that makes gold transactions on a fractional reserve system, the same way the dollar operates. A nation may have gold worth on the market $10 billion, but it can back a banking system of $100 billion. If a nation suffers high inflation, the citizens can be protected by the value of gold soaring in price. India has suffered many financial calamities over the years. Millions survived the hardship by having their core assets in gold. One overhanging reason why we need a financial system is related to what happened during the Great Recession of 2008-2009. The world had a massive meltdown with losses reaching, in one report, $26 trillion. The Federal Reserve is the only entity that could produce dollars, so it made good all these losses. A little over a decade later, the world is right back to those same levels of derivative and leverage. I don’t know what role the Antichrist would play in a gold reserve system. Since he will be the man with all the answers, he may introduce several of its key components. “Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them on the day of the wrath of the LORD. In the fire of his jealousy, all the earth shall be consumed; for a full and sudden end he will make of all the inhabitants of the earth” (Zephaniah 1:18). Ignorance Of The Bible Isn’t Just A Problem In Our Culture—It’s A Problem In The Church – By Answers In Genesis - https://harbingersdaily.com/ignorance-of-the-bible-isnt-just-a-problem-in-our-culture-its-a-problem-in-the-church/ Ignorance of the Bible isn’t just a problem in our culture. It’s a problem in the church, and it’s scandalous. While America’s evangelical Christians are rightly concerned about the secular worldview’s rejection of biblical Christianity, we ought to give some urgent attention to a problem much closer to home—biblical illiteracy in the church. This scandalous problem is our own, and it’s up to us to fix it. How bad is it? Researchers tell us that it’s worse than most could imagine. Only half of all Christian adults can name the four gospels. Many Christians cannot identify more than two or three of the twelve disciples. According to data from the Pew Research Center, nearly half don’t even realize that the Golden Rule is not one of the Ten Commandments. Multiple surveys reveal the problem in stark terms. Most Christians in the United States believe the Bible teaches, “God helps those who help themselves” (and some even believe this quote is a Bible verse). A series of Barna surveys shows that only 19% of “born again Christians” hold to the simplest elements of a basic biblical worldview. We would not expect secularized Americans to be knowledgeable about the Bible. A Barna poll once indicated that at least 12 percent of adults believe that Joan of Arc might be Noah’s wife. Another survey of graduating high school seniors revealed that over 50 percent thought that Sodom and Gomorrah were husband and wife. A considerable number of respondents to one poll indicated that Billy Graham preached the Sermon on the Mount. The larger scandal is biblical ignorance among Christians. Choose whichever statistic or survey you like, the general pattern is the same among professing Christians. America’s Christians know less and less about the Bible. It shows. How can a generation be biblically shaped in its understanding of human sexuality when it believes Sodom and Gomorrah to be a married couple? No wonder our culture has so quickly embraced the normality of same-sex marriage. And it’s little wonder that Christians show a growing tendency to compromise on such issues. Worse, many who identify themselves as Christians are similarly confused about the gospel itself. An individual who believes that “God helps those who help themselves” will find salvation by grace and justification by faith to be alien concepts. Christians who lack biblical knowledge are the products of churches that place too little value on biblical knowledge. Paul’s words to Timothy are as valuable today as ever: “Give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine” (1 Timothy 4:13). Bible teaching now often accounts for only a diminishing fraction of the local congregation’s time and attention. And while the increasing emphasis on small group ministry has certainly increased opportunities for fellowship, many of these groups never get beyond superficial Bible study. Youth ministries are asked to fix problems, provide entertainment, and keep kids busy. But how many local church youth programs actually substantially increase their Bible knowledge during the critical junior high and high school years? Even the pulpit has been sidelined in many congregations. Preaching has taken a back seat to other concerns in corporate worship. The centrality of biblical preaching to the formation of disciples is lost, and Christian ignorance leads to Christian indolence and worse. Recovery starts at home. Parents are to be the first and most important educators of their own children, diligently teaching them the Word of God (see Deuteronomy 6:4–9). Parents cannot pass their responsibility off to the congregation, no matter how faithful and biblical it may be. Even if they have had little training themselves, it is no excuse. God assigned parents this nonnegotiable responsibility, and children must see their Christian parents as teachers and fellow students of God’s Word. (Spiritual leadership is far more important than second jobs, second cars, and the many other distractions of modern life.) Churches must recover the centrality and urgency of biblical teaching and preaching, and refuse to sideline the teaching ministry of the preacher. Pastors and churches too busy—or too distracted—to make biblical knowledge a central aim of ministry will produce believers who simply do not know enough to be faithful disciples. (Worse, they will fail to pass down a clear understanding of the gospel to the next generation sitting in the pews.) We will not believe more than we know, and we will not live higher than our beliefs. The many fronts of Christian compromise in this generation can be directly traced to biblical illiteracy in the pews and the absence of biblical preaching and teaching in our homes and churches. This generation of Christian parents and pastors must get deadly serious about the problem of biblical illiteracy, or a frighteningly large number of Americans—Christians included—will go on thinking that Sodom and Gomorrah lived happily ever after. Without a mature knowledge of God’s Word, how can churchgoers expect to make new disciples of Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:19)? Daily Jot: China balloons and a compromised president - Bill Wilson – www.dailyjot.com In January of 2020, J.R. Nyquist, co-author of “The New Tactics of Global War,” wrote a column for Epoch Times about a speech by a retiring Chinese Defense Minister some 20 years ago that promoted Chinese policy using biological weapons against the America. General Chi Haotian said that the United States not only blocks China’s desires with conquering new lands like Taiwan, Vietnam, India, or Japan, but also has the land mass to solve China’s growing overpopulation problem. The general said, “We are not foolish as to want to perish together with America by using nuclear weapons. Only by using non-destructive weapons that can kill many people will we be able to reserve America for ourselves.” Chi added that China had seized the opportunity to master weapons of this kind. Fast forward to the so-called “spy balloons.” Joe Biden knew for almost a week about this Communist Chinese spy balloon coming across the Untied States before he did anything about it. This balloon was soaring some 60,000 feet above the country and it was the size of three school busses. It carried a large enough payload that Democrat political hacks were concerned that shooting it down would cause high risk to people below. Then when criticized about their lack of national security concern, these deep state flunkies went into high gear diverting attention to former president Trump rather than face the looming issue of a possible deadly security violation. The question must be asked: Is Biden and the Democratic Party so compromised by China, that they will not protect the national security? This is a legitimate question. Remember Joe’s son Hunter and his laptop. In March 2020, there were 26,000 emails provided Breitbart News by Hunter’s former business partner Bevan Cooney who is in prison. The emails detailed how Hunter secured meetings with senior White House officials for Chinese Communist elites—including a secret meeting with then-Vice President Joe Biden. The laptop reportedly had video of Hunter using cocaine and having sex with Chinese children. Back then, the media and national security deep state traitors censored these stories and promoted the propaganda that they were the result of a Russian misinformation campaign. That misinformation campaign turned out to be run by the FBI and social media giants like Twitter and Facebook. Mainstream media also was complicit. Common sense would dictate that the Chinese and Russians and Ukrainians have so much on Biden and his family that he cannot possibly make rational decisions to protect Americans. And that is why a Chinese spy balloon that could carry a deadly payload is allowed to float across American defense installations and population centers. Biden and his Administration should be removed from office for this alone. As Christ said in Luke 8:17, “For nothing is secret that will not be revealed, nor anything hidden that will not be known and come to light.” As the truth comes out about Biden and his family, it will show how he is compromised, but let us pray it’s not too late. Daily Devotion: Sorry Enough to Change - by Greg Laurie – www.harvest.org For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death —2 Corinthians 7:10 https://harvest.org/resources/devotion/sorry-enough-to-change/ - Listen Sometimes we confuse remorse or regret with repentance. The person who gets caught in a lie is sorry. The criminal who gets arrested is sorry. But are they repentant? I don’t know. Maybe the person who lied will just be more careful the next time. And the criminal will plot his next crime with more foresight. But that isn’t repentance. For example, Exodus 9 tells us that Pharaoh, who was hardened in his sin, acknowledged the sin existed. He called for Moses and Aaron and said, “I have sinned this time. The Lord is righteous, and my people and I are wicked” (verse 27 NKJV). That’s good, but then he continued to sin against God, and ultimately God judged him. He never came to faith. Saul, the king of Israel, said at one point, “I have sinned, for I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord” (1 Samuel 15:24 NKJV). But does that mean he changed his life? No. He continued as he had been living, and he threw his life away. The Bible also tells us about a rich, young ruler who approached Jesus, wanting to know how to have eternal life. Jesus gave him the answer, and he went away sorrowful but not repentant. Even Judas Iscariot was sorry because he betrayed Jesus. But he didn’t do anything with that sorrow. His sorrow did not lead to repentance. It isn’t enough to be sorry. We must do something about it. The Bible says that “godly sorrow produces repentance.” Repentance means that we are willing to change. Repentance means being sorry enough to stop. It is not enough to be sorry. God’s people need to repent of the sins they have committed. Are you ready to turn your back on sin and follow Jesus? He will give you the strength to do what He has called you to do.
