In military terms, the Center of Gravity (COG) is a concept that links some central thing or idea, to whatever an army, a population, an enemy, a force, or a nation centers their strength upon. It could be national pride. It could be ethnic or tribal allegiances. It could be advanced technology, or perhaps a particular industry. It could be ideological, religious, or political. For example, America’s COG used to be defending freedom and promoting the American way of life across the world. As of late, however, I’m fairly certain our COG has been bought and paid for by the Military Industrial Complex. Carl Von Clausewitz was a 19th-century Prussian General and about as famous a military theorist as you could get, made famous, the term Center of Gravity. To which, COG has been long debated by both scholars and generals as to how best to apply it in regard to military strategy. The thought was, that if you could identify and then attack an enemy’s Center of Gravity, you could effectively defeat said enemy by weakening them to the point of collapse. Now, we live in a day and age in which everything is accelerating at a dizzying pace, and Christendom is trying really hard to make itself relevant by blending into a world that is continually changing. In fact, the only thing changing faster than our technological advancements is its rapidly declining cultural norms. Churches here in the 21st century are continually being pressured by society to compromise and replace their COG with that of the world by compromising on doctrinal truths. As believers, our Center of Gravity must be God’s Word, for without it, we would neither know God, nor know the means of salvation vis-à-vis the Gospel of Jesus Christ, or how to live and function while operating in enemy territory. As believers, we must come to grips with the reality that we are at war, all day, every day. In order for us to grasp the level of conflict we are in, we must first understand that every philosophy, every ideology, every religion, and every source of wisdom or knowledge that is not from God, comes from Satan regardless of how harmless or benign it may appear. Two-thousand years ago, the Apostle Paul, as moved by the Holy Spirit, also addresses this kind of war… For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Ephesians 6:12-13 On Truth While somewhat difficult to explain regarding a simple, comprehensive understanding, it is simply coming to terms with the absolute truth about our reality here, so stay with me on this: If the God of our Bible is real, and everything in our Bible is true…then everything that is, must conform to that truth no matter how it is being presented by whichever society or era you find yourself in. Charles Spurgeon once wrote, “The Word of God is the anvil upon which the opinions of men are smashed.” For instance, that the Genesis account of Creation, in which God speaks reality into existence ex nihilo, in six literal 24-hour days, has to be as it is described in Scripture. If you accept and believe that, then no matter what the science of the day proclaims contrary to that, you stand on God’s Word. Sooner or later, man’s anti-Biblical theories ALWAYS fall apart because they are not based on reality, but a false foundation. Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. Colossians 2:8 By the late 1800s, the ages of Rationalism, Enlightenment, and Secular Humanism were in full swing and there were philosophical & “scientific” theories aplenty being tested on the general populace with little regard as to the effects they would unleash. For example, the two big ones of the 19th century were Darwinian Evolution and Marxism. With the luxury of hindsight, we’ve seen the tragic effects that both Darwin’s Theory and Marxism have wrought over the past 150 years through the development of eugenics (racial selection) and communism. Tragic would be an understatement. Yet at the time, these were radical and cutting-edge ideas. They were revolutionary and went against the status quo of the day. Years and decades after they were formulated, they were lauded by the academic elites as being ‘the truth’ whilst simultaneously mocking the Bible as being archaic and woefully inadequate to deal with the new scientific breakthroughs and geo-political issues of their day. Yet today, they’re considered both laughable and disastrous models by anyone who has a couple marbles rolling around in their head. This was all because three men (Karl Marx, Friedrich Engels, and Charles Darwin) thought they knew better than God. Neither did these reprobates live to see their philosophical abortions play out. Nevertheless, because of them, we endured:
All of these came with the hefty price tag of hundreds of millions of dead, and entire generations lost forever. As for an economic and philosophical model, Marxism (as it’s come to be called), was, and will always be an utter failure…because it attempts to redefine human nature as something it is not…naturally altruistic. Darwinism was doomed from the beginning, all it needed was for science to catch up and disprove the same science they claim it demanded. Scientists are beginning to realize that there is a lot more to our existence than what they once thought. Much of Darwin’s ideas are laughable today, even by secular scientists. Our world, when broken down to the molecular level, is far more complex than they could have understood it to be. Simply put, had the technology been available to people then, we would not have had generations be taught that we crawled out of the primordial soup, or even that our existence here is purely accidental. Had the science been available then, they wouldn’t have had the academic support to promote Social Darwinian, which means we wouldn’t have had ideas such as ‘survival of the fittest’, eugenics, and the “Final Solution”. And yet, for all of Darwin’s so-called genius, and for his dismissal of Scripture as being the one, true, source of truth, Scripture concludes… For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. Colossians 1:16 (my emphasis) On War We, humans, exist in a physical, dimension whose boundaries are time, gravity, and space. We are confined to planet earth, with little prospect of successfully existing anywhere else due to our own mortal constraints of requiring oxygen, heat, water, food, and gravity to live. Our enemy, however, is not bound by these things. Satan and his fallen angels are spiritual beings who have their own Center of Gravity, and it is centered on attacking, corrupting, and destroying the three things that stand in the way of their only chance of thwarting God’s plans: the Church, the Jew, and Jerusalem. You will see very clearly that the world hates, mocks, and despises, the Church (true Christianity), the Jewish people, and Jerusalem…irrespective of religion, ethnicity, or academic grooming. We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one. 1 John 5:19 (my emphasis) Having previously attempted to wage war on God directly, and subsequently cast out of heaven (along with a third of his fellow, fallen angels) to the earth, Satan realizes that a direct attack against heaven is his last resort. In the meantime, he has been busily attempting to circumvent God’s plans and His structuring of our reality here. The fact that man has been given free will to decide on whom he will follow, has given Satan the notion that he might have a chance at succeeding after all. While Satan was cast out of heaven initially, he has retained the ability to transform himself in order to present himself in heaven, yet there is coming a day when he will also lose that privilege and be cut off from the Third Heaven altogether (2 Cor. 12:2). In your bible study, simply consider the chronology of events here: Ezekiel 28:11-19, Isaiah 14:12-15, Job. 1:6-7, and Rev. 12:7-12. At the halfway point of the Tribulation (i.e., the time of Jacob’s Troubles which is 3.5 years into Daniel’s 70th Week), Satan will attempt another coup d’état in heaven and will lose again (Jeremiah 30:7-11). But this time, Michael the Archangel will cast him out down to earth, and he will be confined to our physical realm. Because of this, he will furiously possess the man we know as ‘the Antichrist’ and spend the next three years, feverishly pouring out his persecution upon the Jews and Jerusalem. This is why Christ returns at the Second Coming, because, between this persecution and the divine judgments, if He doesn’t, no flesh would survive. (Matt. 24:21-22) Notice, I didn’t say the Church? That is because the Church is nowhere to be found inside the confines of the 70th Week of Daniel. The Church, that is the universal body of believers from Pentecost until today, who make up the corporeal, corporate, multi-membered yet singular, body of Christ…will one day be taken/caught/snatched up to meet the Lord in the air before even one minute of it begins (John 14:1-3, 1 Thess. 4:13-18, 1 Cor. 15:50-55, Rev. 3:10). With regard to military maneuvers, the Rapture is in effect, a triumphal victory parade upwards through Satan’s domain (Eph. 2:2), with full honors and angelic escort. This is why the timing of the event itself is shrouded in secrecy (no man knows the day or hour), why it could happen at any moment, and why the ‘shout’, the ‘trump of God’, the immediate resurrection of the dead, and the translation of the living- from mortal to immortal, has to happen in that order...as we will be marching straight through the enemies stronghold. It is Christ, triumphantly presenting His workmanship ‘the Church’ (Matt. 16:18), to His enemy…and Satan not being able to do a single thing about it. The intended effect then is that Jesus begins deconstructing Satan’s COG by effectively removing one of the three main targets who had been under his satanic persecution for millennia. Those who come to faith in Christ after the Rapture of the Church, will be the next group who Satan (via the False Prophet and Antichrist) targets and will produce an untold number of martyrs in the process, from all tribes and kindreds (Rev. 6:9-11; 7:9-17; 13:7). At the midpoint of the Tribulation when the Tribulation martyrs run out, Satan then turns his furious focus on the final two objects of his wrath, the Jew and the Jerusalem. It is at the mid-point that the Antichrist becomes indwelt by Satan himself, sets himself up in the newly rebuilt, Jewish Temple, and declares himself to be God (Dan. 9:27, 2 Thess. 2:4, Rev. 13) and attempts to finish what the Holocaust did not, that being the total annihilation of the Jewish people (Matt. 24:15-21). Jerusalem then becomes the flashpoint for all of humanity as the nations of the world, led by the Antichrist, descend upon Har Megiddo (Armageddon) in which he prepares for all-out war. It is here that Christ returns, peeling back the sky for the whole world to see, and returning triumphantly with the Church, to destroy Antichrist, the False Prophet, and the Antichrist’s armies. Satan’s very best, the Antichrist and False Prophet, are cast alive into the Lake of Fire, while Satan himself is bound in chains in the abyss for 1,000 years, thus ending man’s long march to ruin (Zech. 14, Rev. 19-20). Conclusion Going back to what the Apostle Paul wrote though, is understanding that we are at war with fallen angels who hate us with every fiber of their corrupted, condemned, beings. Understanding that the Charles Darwins’ and Karl Marxs’ of the world, aren’t our enemies per se, they are simply the pawns in which the enemy uses to try and destroy Biblical truth and the human race. Think of these men as you would Islamic suicide bombers, who instead of using explosives, use false ideologies, false religions, and humanist philosophies to kill, maim, and destroy…while also blowing themselves up…for a lie from Satan, the father of lies. And while we are still at war, realize fellow believers, that this war is coming to an end very soon. Having already won the victory at the Cross, Jesus Christ thus became the Center of Gravity for all of human history. And now, having joined with Christ through the free gift of salvation, all we are waiting on now, is the victory parade upwards. Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.” Luke 21:28 Maranatha! It’s been said that Las Vegas is the “city that never sleeps.” Well, allow me to suggest that the Middle East is the region that never sleeps – for entirely different reasons. Before I provide a rundown of upcoming events for the ministry, let me highlight some of the key happenings in Israel and the surrounding area. Russia & Syria Last week, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad welcomed the idea of establishing a stronger Russian military presence in war-torn Syria. Moreover, the Syrian president made it clear that Russia’s military presence can plan to stay long-term. Sadly, Russia’s involvement in the Syrian Civil War is paying off for Moscow, at least for the immediate future. However, Russia isn’t the only foreigner active in Syria. The Hezbollah terror organization has begun mobilizing medium-range surface-to-surface ballistic missiles within Syrian territory. A senior Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terror organization commander was assassinated in Damascus. If indeed he is related to the recent bombing at the Megiddo Junction, Israel has begun to settle the score! Ukraine Interestingly enough – on another front – the International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Putin over alleged war crimes in Ukraine. Almost laughably, the Russian police opened criminal cases against the ICC judges in The Hague who issued the arrest warrant for Putin. Meanwhile, Russia is continuing its offensive in Ukraine. Last week, it carried out another assault on Ukraine via Iranian-made suicide drones, as well as incendiary bombs. Adding to the equation, Poland’s ambassador to France says that his country will intervene in the war if it sees that Ukraine is losing. Iran Iran’s regime newspaper, KAYHAN (linked to Ali Khamenei – the supreme leader of Iran), promoted the recent agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia, touting that it “can lead to Israel’s destruction.” It also prides itself in the fact that the United States is not pleased with the agreement. Iran could not care less about the agreement. It’s just satisfied with threatening Israel and treating the US like an outcast. Israel Israel is facing the most dangerous reality since the Yom Kippur war in October of 1973. Three vectors should be watched:
I’ve been carefully examining the situation in Israel over the past three years ever since we entered into what seems to be never-ending political chaos. My conclusion is very simple: The progressive, liberal, deceptive, and diabolical demon has completely taken over a large portion of Israeli society to the degree of what the Bible calls: STRONG DELUSION! For years I’ve struggled with the portion from Zechariah 13:8-9 where it says that two-thirds of Israel will be cut off and die and the last third the Lord will bring through fire and refine them. That’s the one third that will survive the looming tribulation, known also as Jacob’s trouble. That’s the one third that will be there to welcome the Messiah’s return as Zechariah 12:10 describes. They’ll mourn, cry, and repent! Based on what I see today, if the antichrist rises to power tomorrow, I believe two-thirds of Israel will be easily deceived to the point of eventually receiving the mark of the beast. Interestingly enough, even some major Rabbis can see the coming tribulation. Now, if the tribulation is so close, can you imagine how much closer our rapture is! Yes, the fig tree is blooming! Israel is back in the land! However, only the physical restoration has taken place. The spiritual restoration will be painful and tragic. The idea of a two-state solution is one of the biggest deceptions ever. Most people think that it’s about a Jewish state and an Arab state. Well, it’s not. A two-state solution in the mind of the Arabs is an Arab state and another state consisting of Jews and Arabs. If you come and ask them to acknowledge Israel as a Jewish state coexisting with an Arab state, they will refuse. The same logic is now in effect with the progressive left that is claiming that the judicial reform is going to bring an end to democracy. Ask them if they will stop protesting and rioting if the government will decide to freeze the reform and they’ll tell you, “No!” It’s not about the reform. They simply won’t accept the outcome of the November 2022 elections. Remember – the subtext is always more revealing than the headline! Every few years, the ultra-orthodox Israeli parliament members propose anti-missionary legislation. A new bill that was just proposed this January is similar to the one from the former parliament. Allow me to remind you that, at the moment, the only illegal part of proselytizing is if it’s to a minor. Moreover, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu tweeted, “We will not advance any law against the Christian community.” There was another Palestinian terror attack on Jews in Judaea and Samaria. A Palestinian terrorist opened fire on a car driven by former U.S. Marine David Stern, a Jewish resident of one of the Israeli settlements. Once shot, David pulled out his gun and emptied a magazine at the terrorist through the window of the vehicle and wounded him. The terrorist threw the weapon away and fled. Meanwhile, David improvised for himself an arterial tourniquet, bandaged himself, calmed down his wife, and went to the ambulance on his own. Respect and a speedy recovery, hero! Two Israeli soldiers were wounded from a landmine explosion on the border with Lebanon earlier this week. Additionally, Israel hit Iranian targets in Damascus, Latakia, and Aleppo! There was serious damage done to the Aleppo airport following the Israeli strike. A storehouse of rockets and a runway were destroyed. Around the World For over a month now an Israeli citizen named Gal Luft, a respected professor and a retired Lt. Colonel in the IDF, has been held in custody by the authorities in Cyprus. Prof. Luft believes he knows why: “My only ‘sin’ is that in March 2019, before the US presidential elections, I brought to the FBI incriminating information about the business of US President Joe Biden’s family with China, and about a corruption case at the top of the FBI.” Luft (56), who specializes in security and energy, was arrested by the Cyprus police at Larnaca International Airport, while he was planning to fly back to Israel. He was arrested because of an Interpol arrest warrant, issued at the request of the United States, where they defined him as “wanted for offenses related to the export of weapons to Libya and China.” He is suspected of conspiracy to commit serious crimes, false statements, and other crimes that he has allegedly committed since 2015 until today. Luft’s response to the warrant: “The accusations against me are false and biased. I have never traded weapons or oil and I have never earned a penny from such transactions.” Could this be a move to discredit an important witness for a potential congressional investigation on Hunter Biden’s business deals with China? I spent the last week accompanying one of my dear friends on another tour throughout the Holy Land. Satan worked himself into the very heart of the church in Germany and caused many church people—pastors and laymen alike—to rationalize and compromise with the Nazis. A hear-no-evil, see-no-evil mentality swept the country with regard to her treatment of the Jews and other “undesirables.” When Germans were questioned about things they had seen, the whole nation suddenly developed a strange form of “amnesia.” Perhaps it was a self-protecting device that helped them forget the terrible ordeal of Nazi Germany. The nation that had produced Beethoven, Bach, Mozart, and a host of other men and women for whom the world will always be grateful, also perpetrated and, often actively or passively, supported the carnage of the Third Reich. But the casualties hit home, too, for Germany was a massive, burned-out crater by the end of the war. Three million of her soldiers died, and another million shivered in the prisons of Siberia. More than half a million civilians perished in the air raids over Germany. But what nation is not capable of the same kind of tyranny? While Germany killed her six million prisoners, Russia killed twenty million in Siberia. Later, Stalin heaped countless other lives on top of that. The bamboo curtain imprisons millions more. The same kind of treatment and torture is inflicted upon those living today in dozens of other countries. It is clear that the spirit of Adolf Hitler is alive in the world today, for that spirit is Satan. Even as Germany believed Hitler’s lies, the world believes Satan’s lies, for he is the father of lies. Ironically Hitler himself was deceived, saving his most savage attacks for the unarmed Jews rather than for the armies that destroyed him. Even in his final words he denounced the threat of international Jewry. That same spirit fans the flames of anti-Semitism today. While Russian Jews are less persecuted since the fall of Communism, a Jew is risking his or her life on the streets of many European nations. Some say that the anti-Semitic climate in Europe today nearly rivals that of 1939. The Jews of Europe are fleeing to Israel in fear. In the UK, anti-Semitic attacks have increased 42 percent since 2004. Evil in the name of God exists in many of today’s Christian denominations. The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), Methodist Church, Episcopal Church USA, and the World and National Councils of Churches have all voted to divest funds in Israel, strangling her economy. And with the push for a Palestinian state, Bible prophecy is further fulfilled in that all nations are coming against Israel—perhaps even America—as prophesied in Zechariah 12:3. And as bizarre as it is, we have people like Iran’s former president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and others, saying there never was a Holocaust while they plan a second one. Holocaust denial is on fast-forward in recent years. Anti-Semitism takes on strange features, but the bottom line is that the Jewish people are still cursed by many people, denominations, and nations, even if they do not wear swastikas. However, the greatest news of all is that God is ready and willing to forgive even an Adolf Hitler, an Eichmann, a Himmler, a Heydrich, a Goebbels, or a Höss. God’s love and forgiveness are that great. God can transform the most wicked individual if he but acknowledges his need of the one Savior, Jesus Christ! But if the incredibly evil do not respond to God, if they align themselves with the Evil One—God’s people do not need to fear. God delivers. And if He does not deliver, He sustains. And if He does not sustain, He receives us into His everlasting arms—for He is sovereign! God be praised. Psalms 59:16–17 – “But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble.” This is the Mark of the Beast, Are You at Risk? – Olivier Melnick - https://www.newantisemitism.com/antisemitism/this-is-the-mark-of-the-beast-are-you-at-risk The Mark of the Beast is not a Hollywood creation to generate ticket sales, it is a real Mark for real people that will tragically affect our world in the not-so-distant future. This being said, what is the Mark of the Beast and more importantly, who will take it and what will be their fate for taking it? It is definitely a very intriguing issue in all of Bible Prophecy, and as such, it has generated many books, conferences and YouTube videos. People go from making fun of it to being terrified that they might have taken it. I believe that like everything else, moderation is key and that we should seek solid ground rooted in Scripture to explain the Mark of the Beast. The Bible speaks of that Mark with the most details in Revelation 13:16-18, 16 And he causes all, the small and the great, and the rich and the poor, and the free men and the slaves, to be given a Mark on their right hand or on their forehead, 17 and he provides that no one will be able to buy or to sell, except the one who has the Mark, either the name of the beast or the number of his name. 18 Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for the number is that of a man; and his number is six hundred and sixty-six. It is important to understand that the Beast is the Antichrist. It is critical to understanding his Mark and his destructive agenda (Revelation 13). He will be under the authority of the dragon (Satan, Rev. 13:2 4). He is also the “little horn” of Daniel 7:7-8, 20-25. So, If indeed the Beast is the Antichrist powered and directed by Satan, we understand that there is absolutely nothing good about this Mark; but it still doesn’t tell us who will get it, when, how and if they can escape from its grip after receiving it. • The timing of the Mark of the Beast: Some believe that the Mark of the Beast occurred in the past (preterist). These are people who view the events of the book of Revelation as already having happened and they identify the Beast as Roman Emperor Nero. This would have occurred between AD 66-70 and culminated with the destruction of the Temple. Yet, the book of Revelation was written about 30 years after the reign of Nero, so that would force us to see the book of Revelation as non-prophetic, and Nero NEVER fulfilled all the events of Revelation 13 required to identify him as the Beast. Additionally, Nero never forced a mark on anybody. The Mark of the Beast has yet to come! • The reason for the Mark of the Beast: While the Bible tells us that without the Mark of the Beast, nobody can buy or sell during the Tribulation (Rev. 13:17), the ultimate purpose for the Mark is for someone to show unconditional allegiance and devotion to the Antichrist (Rev. 13:15). The Antichrist will not invite people or offer them options to follow him. He will demand it! People will either worship the Antichrist or they will worship Christ (Yeshua the Messiah). The consequences will be drastically different. Those who worship the Beast will temporarily be taken care of during the second half of the Tribulation, but their eternal destiny will be the Lake of Fire without exception (Rev. 20:11-15). • The number of the Mark of the Beast: 666 is probably one of the most-known numbers in history by believers and unbelievers alike. Revelation 13:18 advises those with wisdom to calculate the number of the Beast. The process of assigning a numerical value to letters exists in Hebrew, Greek and English and other languages. It is known as Gematria, and while people can get out of control with the use of Gematria, Revelation 13:16-18 can be granted some clarity from its proper use. Many reputable scholars see the number 6 as the number of man, one short of the number 7, representing the number of perfection or the number of God. As powerful as the Antichrist will be at his peak of power, he will always remain just a man, still under the control of the perfect God of the universe. His name will have a numerical value of 666, but until his name is revealed, many names can have that numerical value. So, first people will have to hear his name and then they will be able to calculate the value of the letters as Revelation 13:18 tells us, Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast. • The location of the Mark of the Beast: A tremendous number of books have been written on what the Mark of the Beast will be and where it will be located on or in the human body. People continue to speculate on this topic. For decades, people have conjectured on the possibility for the Mark of the Beast to be an under-the-skin microchip implant, an ID card or recently even a vaccine. While the exact nature of this Mark cannot be determined with certainty with what the Bible reveals to us, we know a few details about it. Revelation 13:16 says that the Mark will appear on their right hand or on their forehead. It never mentions “under” the skin or “within” the body of a person. Incidentally the Hebrew Scriptures also use the word “mark” similarly to the way it is used in Revelation 13. “The Lord said to him, “Go through the midst of the city, even through the midst of Jerusalem, and put a Mark on the foreheads of the men who sigh and groan over all the abominations which are being committed in its midst.” (Ezekiel 9:4.) The Greek word used in Revelation 13:16 is epi, meaning “upon” or “on” and never “inside” or “under”. The Mark will be on the right hand or on the forehead. • The Recipients of the Mark of the Beast: Now, considering that a variety of people have worried about receiving the Mark of the Beast in some way or another for a very long time, it would be helpful to narrow down who will actually receive that Mark. Since the Mark of the Beast is a future event taking place during the Tribulation, nobody will be at risk of receiving it prior to that seven-year period of time on earth, and it really doesn’t come into effect until the Antichrist demands to be worshipped as god at the mid-point of the Tribulation. The identity of the Antichrist will be revealed after the Rapture of the church (2 Thessalonians 2:2-3), when he signs a peace treaty with Israel (Daniel 9:26-27). People will choose to take the Mark of the Beast so that they can survive in a world where the entire economy is based on acceptance or refusal of that Mark. Part of taking the Mark of the Beast will be a total allegiance to and worship of the Antichrist. Those who refuse the Mark by trusting Yeshua will most likely die as Tribulation martyrs. • The Finality of the Mark of the Beast: While no one can receive the Mark of the Beast until the middle of the seven-year Tribulation, receiving it has dire consequences. It marks the point of no return for that individual who will willingly reject Yeshua and worship the Beast. His identity and the exact way that the Mark will be displayed are still unknown, but the result of taking the Mark is very clear, Then another angel, a third one, followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives a Mark on his forehead or on his hand,10 he also will drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is mixed in full strength in the cup of His anger; and he will be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb.11And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever; they have no rest day and night, those who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the Mark of his name.” The Mark of the Beast is to be feared if you are not part of the family of God and will find yourself left behind and suffer through the seven-year Tribulation. Even then, not taking it is the best outcome because your death as a result of rejecting the Antichrist and trusting Yeshua will result in eternity in God’s presence. Taking the Mark of the Beast will bring social and economic benefits in days of global havoc, but they will be short-lived, and the end result will be eternal damnation in the Lake of Fire and Brimstone. For those of us on God’s side, the Mark of the Beast isn’t to be feared, even if much of the technology to accompany and facilitate it is already in place, it will simply not affect believers. Let’s not worry about the meaning of 666, the method by which the Mark will be inaugurated or who will choose it. Let us make it clear to those who don’t yet know Yeshua that they either come to a saving knowledge of the Messiah today and avoid the Tribulation altogether or procrastinate and trust Him on the other end of the Rapture and suffer greatly and unnecessarily. We have found Harvest Hosts, a membership of churches, wineries and farms, a suitable way to meet interesting people at little or no cost. The concept behind Harvest Hosts is you stay free, but they ask that you spend at least $20 in support of the host’s business or mission. Just off of Interstate 95 in Ashland, Va., is James River Cellars, a vineyard and winery. The people were very friendly and knowledgeable about their wines. The tasting room is very nice with a patio all around, well situated among the trees overlooking a small vineyard, where they were able to produce about a barrel of wine. The rest of the vineyard is at another location. The best part of the visit was meeting fellow campers Dannielle and Dillon, their three kids and dog. They came from Michigan where they decided that living in that state was more trouble than it was worth. The kids tested two years behind in the public schools, ostensibly because of COVID. In just a couple of months, Dannielle had already got her daughter caught up by homeschooling. They decided Michigan had nothing for them. Schools were full of propaganda. The COVID restrictions and mandates were overwhelming. None of them are COVID-vaxed, a choice they made exercising their bodily autonomy. They took preventatives that the mainstream doctors condemned. They decided taking an experimental vaccine that was not proven safe and was proven ineffective was not the best idea for their family. They paid a social price. In Michigan, they received a good deal of shunning. One person, angry they refused vaccination, even harassed their three-year-old daughter, calling her a Nazi—can you imagine? So gone they are from the state in which they all were born. Dillon, son of a dairy farmer, had his own concrete business, but he also is very talented with technology. Dannielle is a wedding photographer, natural remedy enthusiast and adventurer. They sold their concrete business, then their home at an estate auction, bought a camping trailer, and hit the road two months later. They are traveling through every state to pick a new place to live. They have a wooden map of the US on the wall. Each state can be pulled from it as they visit it. So far they have been in MI, OH, NY, PA, NJ, MD and VA. They were headed to Georgia, and after that will make a decision where to go next. They see the entire experience as liberating and educational for their kids. I have heard that because of the strong-armed tactics of the government during COVID there are many Dannielle’s and Dillon’s on adventure road. They are enthusiastic, resilient, and embracing a new idea of America–working on the road, raising kids with old-fashioned values, and focusing on what’s good about our country. Jeremiah 6:16 says, “Stand in the ways and see, And ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is, And walk in it; Then you will find rest for your souls.” They are standing in the way and seeking that ancient path of finding their good way. They intend to find, rest and walk in it. May they do so. Achan, for instance, coveted something that didn’t belong to him, and he lost his life. Judas Iscariot betrayed the Lord for thirty pieces of silver and ultimately took his own life. In 1 Timothy we read, “For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the true faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows” (6:10 NLT) Coveting is more than simply admiring something. It’s the mindset that says, “I’m going to get that, no matter what it costs me or anyone else.” It is an obsession with accumulation and possessions. Coveting can destroy us spiritually. Colossians 3:5 warns us about covetousness, which is idolatry: “So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world” (NLT). Writing to the church in Ephesus, the apostle Paul said, “For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light!” (Ephesians 5:8 NLT). Often, when the Bible tells us not to do one thing, it tells us to do another in its place. For instance, in Ephesians 4:28 we read, “If you are a thief, quit stealing. Instead, use your hands for good hard work, and then give generously to others in need” (NLT). In other words, “You who have stolen, stop stealing and instead do something productive so you can give to others.” Coveting is a powerful and often misunderstood sin. It can cripple us spiritually and even destroy us. We must not underestimate it or leave it unchecked.
